Casual family-owned restaurant serving a variety of traditional Japanese and Thai dishes, including sushi.
The service here is outstanding! They are super attentive and anticipate anything you might need-- water, utensils, the check, etc. We never had to flag a server down. There were 3 people attending to us (and there were only 3 of us!). The menu has something for everyone too. I don't care for spicy food but there were still plenty of options. I had the red curry with chicken. It was terrific. My daughter had the fried rice and her fiance had the pad thai. We also had different sushi rolls. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is also super clean and everyone is friendly. No complaints. Highly recommend!
I’ve been to Peter’s innumerable times- food, service and atmosphere are consistently great. I recommend ALL of their Curry dishes- the Massaman in particular! Also recommend ALL of their fried rice, as well as their Pad Thai. Most recently I had the Pad Kee Mao dish (picture below) and it’s delicious and filling. I could see how the price for the food can be viewed as somewhat extortionate by others, but I don’t mind paying good money for good food. I’ll always recommend Peter’s, especially at 12noon on a Sunday- best time!
I really really really wanted to love this restaurant considering all the great reviews, but I honestly can't say that I did. What surprised me most was that the sushi looked great, but it simply lacked flavor. Even the wasabi did not have any punch, and considering all the sushi we ordered, we only got one little blob of wasabi. The only Thai item I got was the coconut soup which tasted okay, but was rather bland compared to what I've had at other Thai restaurants. The restaurant was absolutely packed and there was a wait for a table, so they clearly have a strong and loyal following which is awesome, but for my tastes I'll go to other Thai restaurants that pack a punch on flavor, and if I want sushi I think I will go to a Japanese restaurant for that.
First time eating at Peter's and to be honest, after being told by a vast number of people how great it is, I found it underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, just not fitting of the hype, no where close.
Service was great, I ordered salmon salad roll which were 8 standard sized rolls that were comprised of just cucumber and salmon and it was $20 😯. The Tom Yum soup was great but for the prices for sushi, I'd rather go to WG or Blue Sushi.
Best Thai chicken curry!
The food was delicious, and the staff was so nice!
Outstanding food and service. Highly recommend! A nice change for lunch!
So delicious and fresh. Service was very fast. Can’t wait to come back.
An unassuming restaurant front, with the best food & service ever!!
No too crowded, great sushi .... and the tempura Brussel sprouts... omg. The best!
Phenomenal, food, service, busy, and still made my to go order in less than 10 minutes!
It was really good! A no frills place with an excellent menu. Try the Tuna Salad roll. Thank me later. Might be the best roll I've had in a long time. We loved all the rolls and great service!
Peters has the best curry in town!

I usually walk in and order to go. Rarely wait more than 5 minutes for amazing, fresh sushi. So good.

I AM LOSING MY MIND OVER THIS SUSHI RESTAURANT. I don’t even know how to process the sheer JOY I just experienced. I had the miso soup and California rolls, and let me tell you—this wasn’t just a meal. It was a transcendent journey into pure bliss.
The miso soup? OH. MY. GOSH. It was like a warm hug for my soul. The broth was so rich, so flavorful, so impossibly PERFECT that I swear I felt my heart grow three sizes. The tofu cubes? Little clouds of happiness. The seaweed? The exact right balance of tender and savory. I took one sip and started CRYING ALL OVER THE TABLE FROM HOW GOOD IT WAS, i swear some of my happy tears mixed in with the soup
And then the California rolls. I don’t even know where to start. The rice was so perfectly seasoned it could’ve been a dish on its own. The crab? Sweet, tender, and absolutely divine. The avocado and cucumber? Fresh and crisp, adding the perfect balance of creamy and crunchy. I WAS ROLLING AROUND ON THE FLOOR FROM HAPPINESS THEY HAD TO CALL PET CONTROL BECAUSE I WAS FOAMING AT THE MOUTH, but no complaints from me.
I’m still reeling from the experience. Every bite was a revelation, every flavor perfectly balanced, and every moment a celebration of culinary excellence. I walked in hungry, and I walked out a new person—completely and utterly obsessed. If you haven’t eaten here yet, WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING? Get here NOW and do something with your life
Incredible service!! They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. And the food is great!
First time since dining at this Establishment the food was not up to par.
Great food

Sat at the table where the stars sit! Fun! Sushi was fantastic!
Gyoza, Michael Jackson roll, Tropical roll are my go-to orders. Excellent every time.
Amazing restaurant!
The staff is nice and always smiling, plus the food is delicious!
It can get a bit cramped when completely full, but the food is worth it.
I never had bad food here. All their ingredients are always fresh. Their food is great. 👍
Great local restaurant with an expansive menu! I had a sore throat when we made a quick stop, and their tom yum soup was perfect for what was ailing me. We will definitely be back!
Great food
This place is the best in all of metro Nashville
A true hidden gem. Fantastic
I love their sushi!
Food and service was really good
Lovely staff, amazingly fresh food, great environment. Peter’s has been a favorite of mine for ten years and it is clear how much the owner cares about this restaurant. Its consistently great everytime I come.
Went in during a busy lunch and got a seat, and attended to immediately. Kudos to the staff
Easy quick and good.
If you are black, you simply not welcome here! I have never experienced discrimination this bold in my entire life. We were waiting the line more than 10minutes and the waitress passed us to sit two white guests that just arrived. not even apologizing or giving a reason why she did that. It’s insane!
(The place don’t take online reservations, if that was the excuse)
Many great choices here! Plan to get back to try every sushi option
Absolutely great food and staff. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food.
Delicious!
The sushi is amazing, and the fish is so fresh and delicious. You get your money's worth at Peter's!
Food and service was amazing!! Highly recommend !
Everything was delicious
My husband and I came in for Pad-Thai and sushi on Saturday evening. It was great! The staff were very friendly and delightful. We sat at the sushi bar. We had the chicken PadThai, mild. Thank goodness we got mild. It was great and just the right amount of spicy. If we had gotten medium it would have been too hot for me. So keep that in mind if you are not a big spice person. We also got the volcano roll. I have never had a roll that was fried. It was great! The sauce was wonderful, the flavor, the texture, it was sooo good! We will be returning regularly!!!!! Oh ! And it is very reasonably priced!!!
Peter’s is one of the few restaurants located in one of the shopping plazas and is a great meeting spot. They have a large variety of Japanese and Thai dishes. My mother and I often meet at this restaurant to catch up, and I consider her to be a Thai connoisseur (she’s a Korean lady who loves red curry). She loves this place. We typically eat and then have a small coffee at the coffee shop next door. The staff is professional, friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I will be back for more!
food was soooo good, i had a salmon salad roll and an octopus salad, the service was fast and friendly, will be here again
Delicious. Absolutely delicious. Perfect service.
Fast, friendly service. Delicious tasting entrees - loved the flavors. Reasonable pricing.
The pad thai is exceptional, and the sauce for the egg rolls is my personal favorite. Fresh sushi and a very attentive attentive staff make this a great place for Thai and Sushi.
I love Thai and this place is great! Coconut soup is so tasty. I got the eggplant meal and it was so so good. I will definitely come back next time in town.
Great food
Always a pleasant time. The staff were very accommodative for my 2 year old daughter by bringing some extra non-menu items to the table for her, which included sliced avocado, steamed broccoli, extra Styrofoam cup so she could try the miso soup (she loved it), extra orange slices, and kids chop sticks. This made for a pleasant dinner not just for our table, but also the tables around us. Like having the limes for my water brought separately, too! Oh, and the sushi is good too!
MONGOLIAN BEEF AND GINGER SALAD IS AMAZING!
Best sushi in Nashville/Brentwood!
Amazing restaurant
This small place got everything, great taste amazing service and excellent ambience.
Just a little bit crowded on weekends so be patient because it's worth it.
We came here on a whim since our friends name is Peter and it was a delicious surprise! I would definitely recommend it. Their rolls are great!
Walked placed my order and was out in no time. Food was good and fresh. Staff was pleasant.
Been going to Peter's for over thirty years. It's consistently the best sushi place in Nashville. Honestly, I can't comment on the Thai food, because the sushi is so good that we can't resist ordering it.
Classic Brentwood venue with amazing food.
Great Sushi! Also Fried rice with chicken is one of the best I have had!
Peters is a good Thai place. Great service and good food. Not quite as flavorful (pad Thai) as I would have hoped though. Overall solid!
First time there very disappointed..will not eat there again
This place is a great option if you are looking for sushi 🍣 in the neighborhood. Let’s start saying that when you see fried sushi and rolls with weird names you can tell that is not authentic but of course if you are into that go for it they are delicious. Nigiris are fresh and service is very friendly. Nice option if you are close by.
They also offer pho 🍜 what I haven’t tried but loos good.
Tom yung chicken and Japanese noodle pork
Delicious food at a great price. The chicken fried rice was really good, and my friend got the bento box and really loved it.
This restaurant is super popular so there may be a wait. We got there right at 5pm when they opened and got sat right away.
This restaurant changed ownership a while back. Since then, it's food hasn't been special enough to choose over other local options.
So glad we found this place. Very cozy, nice atmosphere, the food was delicious. We live 45 mins away but will make the drive more often to come here !
Very clean, super nice people, great food!
Fantastic fresh sushi
Food was a bit salty. Great service and restaurant overall.
Was lucky to spend my birthday lunch with a favorite person (my mom) at a favorite spot. Since I was a child, traveling with my father in Japan, I have lived Unagi-Don. When I need to get a fix in Nashville, Peter's is the place. Rice is perfect and sticky, topped with flakes that add a bit of umami and perfectly sauced. The eel is crispy outside and soft enough to cut with teeth or chopsticks. A bonus ..they have vegan options for my mom. And, it looks like we weren't the only ones who had the birthday lunch idea. There were two other birthdays right next to us. Love this place.
Was good 5 years ago. Now it’s strip mall sushi. Horrible service. Greasy food.
Good Asian food. Nice menu fast service
Crowded, hopping, stimulating atmosphere. Sat at the bar and watched the chef show!
I enjoyed my Thai Eggplant and will try it without added protein next time. For a meat eater this is a big moment for me. Yes, the eggplant is THAT good.
Be prepared to be ridden hard by the wait staff to eat as fast as possible and get out fast as possible. Last time I ate there a staff member came by with the check and waited by standing at the foot of the table and staring at our party for one of us to pull out our wallet to hand them a card, there were plenty of open tables for new customers to be seated. The staff constanlty grab plates from which you are still eating off of, be prepared to fight them away if you want to savor your ginger at the end. I need to preface that me, neither the party of two I was with, are slow eaters. Our total time spent in the restaurant was less than 35 minutes and that was with appetizers and a generous portion of sushi. Great food but this place is not where you want to have a first date or catch up with a friend you have not seen in a while. All that being said, I recommend getting take out only from here the dining in experience is not pleasant at all!
Best sushi in Nashville
Solid choice, good Thai food, gets busy.
Loved the scenery, was very clean. The workers there were extremely kind and thoughtful. Even though we were waiting for takeout they insisted for us to sit down. Wait was a good decent amount of time. Thai tea was sweet and enjoyable.
Amazing food and courteous service.
I didn't expect much based on the name of the restaurant but wow. So much flavor and a great menu. Delicious!!
My family visited or arranged takeout from Peters Sushi & Thai at least once a month for the past 2 years. We loved it and it was a go to restaurant for us. Unfortunately yesterday's experience will pause that behavior for some time. Our ordering experience was unusually awkward, stressful and combative for no obvious reason. When I went to pick up the take out, I was ignoring for at least 10 minutes while the staff seemed to do everything (answer the phone, fill up water, organize papers, etc...) except greet me, hand me my order that I could see was already bagged or even treat me like a person. Honestly, a bad order and pick up experience alone would not be worth this negative review but the food was uncharacteristically bad: sushi was smashed, oddly spiced fried rice, oddly spiced curry, etc... further we all later experienced stomach issues that alone would not be acceptable for a eatery. Honestly I'm shocked at the sudden change in quality and service but I can't shake the idea our food was some type of deliberate action. This is not acceptable especially considering the price point and past loyalty.
The restaurant was very small and private family atmosphere. Very clean and friendly and professional staff. I will definitely recommend them to all my friends and family
Normally one of our favorite places to eat this experience was just average. The sushi was good but the rolls weren’t as tight as normal and they tended to fall apart when dipped in the soy sauce. Our main courses we good but we are used to then being great. This review is one experience but not our normal experience so we will be back and this review will likely be edited.
15+ years of coming here and it has never disappointed!
Excellent food and service. Peter loves his restaurant, and was extremely kind.
The best sushi and incredible service!
5 star, so when we return we can get Keth to wait on us. His favorites are the best.
One of our go tos! We LOVE this place. Food is always good and fresh.
Food was subpar
When you think of Thai food you think of flavorful, bold and unique.
This was definitely geared trose people with lack of taste buds.
I recently dined at your restaurant and would like to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided.
Firstly, our bill amounted to $230, and we willingly left a $20 tip. However, as we were leaving the restaurant, the owner chased us down, requesting an additional tip, citing that bills over $200 typically have an automatic 18% gratuity added. We complied and added an extra $25, making the total tip for a $230 bill $45.
We would not have raised any concerns if the bill had clearly stated the 18% gratuity charge. However, the owner's actions in chasing after us felt humiliating and insinuated that we were attempting to dine and dash. I have never before felt compelled to complain about service establishments, but the owner's behavior that day crossed the line into humiliation and discrimination.
I hope that future patrons of your restaurant will not have to endure the same treatment that my friends and I experienced. We genuinely wish for a more respectful and considerate approach in the future.
Great place, and had the Asahi beer from Japan.
Great attentive service.
Nice atmosphere.
Food terrible.
I've been here a few times to see if it was me. Unfortunately, I don't think so. I've tried their noodles, sushi, and rice dishes and some appetizers and just left disappointed and still hungry.
They have a loyal following.
I think it's time for me to throw in the towel and quit wanting to like it.
Recommend their fried rices, bento box, Tempura and chicken satay. Do try their house sauce, other spicy condiments. Good Asian fare, recommend it.
Among the best sushi and Thai I have recently had. Group of seven served and treated very well. If I lived here, I would most definitely be a regular!
This is my favorite sushi restaurant by far. The staff and owner are super friendly and nice! The quality of the sushi here is outstanding, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of sushi rolls and sashimi options. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very inviting, with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, considering the excellent quality of the food and the friendly service. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone who is a fan of Japanese cuisine.
Amazing! My new favorite Japanese & Thai restaurant. The soups are huge and delicious, the tonkatsu was perfect!
No one thing is exceptional...except the food and the overall experience!
Amazing food and service!
Delicious food and friendly people!
Great food, and decent prices.
Amazing sushi & curry!
Great food and service
Impeccable service and delicious food at fair prices. Our group had a variety of sushi rolls and a few drinks and it was all pretty much perfect. The complimentary soup and salad with our meal was a nice surprise, too! Again, amazing and attentive service really earned this place the 5 our of 5.
Many limited sushi spots in middle TN that are good, fresh quality, and this is my winner. Ive only had their sushi (sashimi) and I highly recommend!
Please pick some other local spot! Peter’s use to be good years ago, but that has not been my experience lately. I recently ordered the teriyaki chicken - it was basically chopped up chicken tenders, two pieces of broccoli, two round carrot slices, onions and sides with sauce poured over. The meat was SO dry, chewy, and flavorless… chicken tenders have a place, but teriyaki chicken is not it. Very disappointing, especially for a $20 dinner. Please just don’t go
We loved the food and the service was fast.
The restaurant was absolutely packed and there was a wait for a table, so they clearly have a strong and loyal following which is awesome, but for my tastes I'll go to other Thai restaurants that pack a punch on flavor, and if I want sushi I think I will go to a Japanese restaurant for that.
Always delicious and awesome !
Yuuummm!
don't waste your money! we have been many times, it used to be somehow tastier, now maybe the chef has changed, there is no taste in food and the price is high.
The shrimp pad tai!!
I've personally had some amazing sushi in other cities, but not so much in Nashville. It's not bad, but their Thai dishes are where I would concentrate. Great panang and pad Thai here!
Peter's Sushi has been around for a long time. The food is always great! The service is also great! It can get busy at dinner, because everyone loves it. The Sushi Chef was so sweet and sent my girls these adorable rice animals. It made my girls night! We will definitely be back soon.
Service was good. Tried Thai food here never tried sushi. Though the restaurant is owned by Thai people, but the Thai food was the least tasty among all Thai restaurants here in Nashville.
My favorite sushi restaurant!!
We tried this back around 2010 when we heard all the good reviews. We tried their sushi options that were good but not really outstanding. We were in the neighborhood, so we decided to try it a second time. The restaurant was clean, and the service was very attentive. They offered us a complimentary spring roll that was a little soggy and not very fresh in flavor. Next came the spider roll, which was small for the price, and again, the oil tasted old and overused (we wouldn't order it again). This was after the lunch crowd around 1:30 p.m., so I wouldn't order anything fried by the dinner service. Now, for the good, we ordered their Pad Thai Chicken/Shrimp. It was well presented with a good overall flavor. It was light on the shrimp (3) and chicken slices (3) with a small amount of chopped peanuts and chili on the side but made up on flavor (not hot in spice at all as it was ordered as described and we wanted a true sample). We did see some fresh sushi being delivered to another table on our way out that looked appetizing. So our experience would tell us to just stay away from their deep fryer and stick with the Thai.
Possibly the best sushi we’ve ever had! Delicious
Delicious!
I had the Green Dragon roll. It was fantastic! I most certainly will be returning. One of the people in my party had fried rice. It was enough to feed 3 people. He really enjoyed it and had plenty for lunch the next day!
An absolute gem of Franklin! Best sushi in the area, everything is fresh and delicious ❤️ we eat here at least once a week!
Best Pad Thai in the world. Thank you
I don’t write many negative reviews, and tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the restaurant, but our latest visit here will be an exception.
Overall, the food and service was mediocre, at best. Our particular waitress seemed like this was the last place she wanted to be; Inattentive and abrupt.
I ordered a couple types of sushi. They were all dry and bland. All tasted like they had been sitting out for awhile. My Nigiri salmon order arrived as shrimp. Average at best.
My partner ordered a chicken / rice dish, and received Pad Thai instead. It took 20 minutes for the correct order to come back out, at which time I was already through eating.
It has been a couple of years since I have been here, but this latest visit was definitely not what I expected. Below average service and food.
Wonderful place for Christmas Eve dinner with family + great vegan options.
Pad Thai and fried rice did not have much flavor at all. Chicken satay was good.
Just okay. The pad thai was mushy, cause the noodles were overcooked and it was very bland. The panang curry was also pretty bland. The sushi was missing the sauces. And the best part of the meal to me was the crab wontons. For all that we paid 98 bucks and I wouldn't say it was worth it.
Great environment, friendly staff, and amazing food
Recommend the Tom Yum Noodle Soup! The best. Especially if you’re sick or it’s a cloudy day. It’s always a good idea.
Outstanding food and service. Great sushi roll choices and the more traditional appetizers where great.
The Pad Si Ew and Ebi Tempura Rolls were really good. Carryout was fast even though they were very busy
Obscenely overpriced for just okay food, most of it dried and and burned
