I asked the cashier if I could order a combo that had fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and shrimp and she said yes, and I asked her if that was a lot of food for one person and she said no, that it was enough for one person, I proceeded to pay and I see that it was $27 and it seemed expensive to me and I also left a tip and when I realize that they are bringing me the order they bring me two plates of food, both with rice and their side.
I think it is disrespectful that you bring me two plates of food when I asked you for a combo that had everything, I feel that you took advantage of the situation to sell more because two plates of food for one person with the same side is that you do not know how to sell or you are taking advantage. Unpleasant experience, I do not recommend it I will never return to this restaurant.
My boyfriend got food poisoning from the vermicelli) we think it was the eggrolls specifically). I got the lemongrass eggplant chicken and it was terrible. Chicken was soggy?! Had no flavor, was really bad. Also got the cheese rangoons which was the only thing I liked.
Service was pretty rude. I walked in and looked at the menu, immediately they were pressuring me to order, which they did multiple times before I was ready. Ended up ordering something terrible.
Stopped in for quick lunch today. Ordered a beef meatball pho. I thought the price was very reasonable compared with others. So this restaurant is set up as order in the front, pay and tip first, then grab a number on a stand and find a table to sit down. So I got a number and sat down.. a few minutes later, a lady that didn't speak English started asking me something... I'm guessing she is asking what I ordered.. so I told her what I ordered and she came back with the order. Kind of weird, since they did not give out paper receipt either... Anyway, the Beef Meatball Pho was delicious, broth was clear and had pretty good flavor. The cleaniness of the entire restaurant is ehh... floor was oily/slippery and everything else looks like it can use a deep clean session. But overall I'm glad I stopped in for lunch today!
The pho was outstanding!! I added veggies to mine. I didn't like the consistency of the boba. It was frozen and had a different texture.
Good pho broth. Love $9 pho on Wednesdays! Made a mistake on my order but fixed it quickly and happily. Not a whole lot of staff and atmosphere feels empty even though large.
This place tatse amazing food is great however the prices are a rip off. They charged me $50 for two plates!!! Whhhaaa!! And you do not get an itemized receipt so you won’t know how they rang your food up. You just get an amount, feel sticker shocked and walk off because dog gone it their food taste so darn good. Dishes we got: Shrimp fried rice and General Tao Tofu - the tofu was cooked to perfection.
$6 pho on Wednesday’s, well worth it. This place could use some deep cleaning, but service was great, even with basically one lady running the whole show. She was very attentive and polite, but struggled to maintain bussing tables which was understandable based on the amount of people coming in and out. She had to run the register and help in the back as well. Too much for one person, so all the negatives about this place could be fixed with more staff. Food was good, came out pretty fast.
Love this lil gem
Food hits the spot, great option for a local place, but wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.
The customer service is off at this restaurant the woman sat the people down that came in behind us first I just felt like we weren't welcomed at that restaurant I will continue to go to the East buffet their customer service is 10 x better

KP is an Austin classic.
Red Curry with shrimp was delicious! Great flavors!
OMG! This is DELICIOUS! Why are people rating this any lower than 5 stars?! I've been on a quest to find a new favorite chinese food place ever since my local fav didn't survive covid. This is absolutely my new fav and actually out ranks my old fav!
We ordered crab rangoon, eggrolls, lo mein, and sesame chicken with fried rice. The portions were plentiful and enough for a heavy meal or to have leftovers for the next day. The chicken in the sesame chicken and lo mein were perfectly cooked, not dry at all, and were actually a good size, plus the flavors of every single dish were TOP NOTCH... it's so good I actually stopped eating to post this review!!
I can't say enough about how long I've been searching and how many mediocre or pretty good chinese meals I've had. This is one of my favorite meals I've had in a very long time. I will be trying more things on the menu and coming back soon!

Bring back the original recipe for the eggrolls …like back in the Late 90s when y’all used to win all the best Austin food awards

Had to wait 30 minutes just for the cashier to come over and asked what I ordered. What was worst was that there was never an apology for the mistake, just bringing out the food and left. If there was an apology, I would’ve looked over this incident, but it ruined all of the foo.I hope my experience was just a fluke, however, I will not risk being treated like this, and will seek a better place nearby.
I entered the restaurant for the first time, and because the cashier was kind, I asked to give a complement to the manager or the owner of the restaurant. After I requested to speak with the manager, and after the restaurant employee told her that the customer wants to speak with you, she never came. And she refused to even come out of her office and even see what the customer's request is. She has shown his lack of education and impolite, I will never go back or giving business in this restaurant, not only myself but also my friends and family and those around me.
Great food, clean atmosphere and customer service is 5 stars great
10-10. If you like pho , this is the place to go . Prices are reasonable . The spring rolls are awesome.
I ordered to tonkatsu ramen which stated no use of nuts or an allergy warning. I had an allergic reaction and the only thing I’m allergic to is nuts. I’ve had tonkatsu from other places and never had a reaction. Worst place ever.
Over priced food, taste is mid
Started in 2022, i decided to find out who has the BEST pho around where I live. This place was actually the benchmark.
I quit after trying 11 different places. 1 came close. This place is still the best. The broth is second to none. Perfect Pho.
Don’t go. Spent 100 on 3 meals and eggrolls. None of the food was edible. I was served the wrong dish and laughed at when I asked for the right one. The eggrolls were burnt. When I asked to be removed from the ticket I was told “they could cut them in half.”
Absolutely disappointed. Horrible
Another great restaurant in the books. This place is completely underrated. If I could I would go here all the time.
No working phone.
Awful service. Girl cashier is unfriendly and not communicative.

A little worn around the edges. Their Chinese food isn't the best, but their bun and pho still rival the best Austin has to offee

March '24: I was thinking of picking up pho here later today but the website indicates that its base price is now $19; so I'm hesitant. I may need to go soon and see what's up, as it's been a while.
Nov '22: I'm torn about withholding a fifth star until they switch from styrofoam takeaway containers, but the pho is so good...
Spring 2021 UPDATE: Still awesome pho; I wish they would offer takeout in sealable containers that are also easily recyclable (so, not Styrofoam). Something that can get the food home without spilling or getting crushed, and is environmentally friendlier -- I would gladly pay a small service/to-go fee for that! Please. -->e.g. cardboard-y for the non- broth [that is not sealable but sturdier & can be composted]. See Sweetgreen for example!
Yummy pho (I usually order pho ga and add steamed veggies--best I've had in Austin), appetizers, etc.! Nice makeover on the interior since they reopened. Tapioca inconsistent, often soggy, undercooked, or a combo of both and limited bubble tea options, but a solid choice for soups/ grub!!
Lo esencial
I like their Wednesday night Pho for $9. I have been going to Kim Phung for over 20 years. They have changed a few things but overall it is still the best!
It's a really rundown place and its Pho tastes more like chicken broth from a can.
It really feels like they have been cost cutting on the ingredients. Their idea of mixed vegetables now consists of 4 pieces of broccoli and 5 or 6 slices of carrot and a mountain of sliced celery and onion. It was very disappointing once I realized what I had paid for a bunch of cheap fillers.
Don’t order from their Uber Eats vegan pop up called ‘Phuket I’m vegan’. All the food is pictured incorrectly and tastes terrible/unseasoned.
Sesame chicken is alright but overpriced, like most items
RIP Kim Phung. Sadly you're as dead to us as the Cedar Park location.
The food has gone so far downhill we will never be back & counter staff is not friendly or helpful. The pork egg rolls are not the original ones and I asked before I ordered!! I waited over 35 min. for take out when there was no one else in the restaurant. FYI - customers that ordered delivery or take out - there were dozens+ of your orders sitting on the tables before I got there and after I left. I can only imagine how your food was...
Ordered the food overthe phone. I told that it would be ready in 10 min. Showed up to pick itup15 min later and it was not ready. Waited an additional 15 min and finally it was ready. When I checked my order was wrong they had used rice instead of vermicelli. Instead of remaking the dish they just took the meat and plopped it onto a bed of vermicelli. Got it all the way home and found that they had given straight fish sauce, not the sweet mixed sauce that the vermicelli bowl comes with. So in all I got three meals. One tasted like ginger and lemon but was so over powered by ginger that it was not safe to eat. The 2nd had a teriyaki type sauce and the grilled meat was not seasoned. Should have had the sweet fish sauce mixture. The third also had unseasonably grilled chicken but had a Salty fishy sauce. When I called they said they would refund my order I drove all the way back to the store and brought the food with me. The owner refused to refund or replace the order. Plus I brought the uneaten food back and she put her fingers all in like anyone could eat it at that point........ Don't eat here the only reason they have 1 star is because they can't get a -not remaking a wrong order and just slapping on a bed of vermicelli is just short of dropping food on the floor and serving it anyway. I will be reporting the restraint to the food administration.
their food is amazing. i love the fried rice and chicken pho. however, there were some rare occasions with a worker who never brought our food and kept trying to talk to my friends and i instead of taking our order. we kept trying to say what we wanted and he'd go "oh yeah you wanted food" and that happened a few times before he finally took our order. we ended up waiting for over an hour and our food was never ready, he just kept talking to us and asking if i lived in the area and things like that. aside from that, all the staff has been incredibly nice and their food really is delicious.
Chicken vermicelli- no carrots , no cucumber, no cilantro..just lettuce, noodles and chicken…pretty lame but expensive
Delicious food, one of my favorite lunch spots. Most frequently I get the grill pork and egg roll vermicelli salad, which they serve in a very generous portion. Although the inside could use some updates, the staff are friendly and food is worth the trip.
Bad customer service
Very good pho 10/10. They were out of most boba teas.
Food quality has consistently gone down over the past three years. The young lady hosting, taking orders and serving is unfriendly and unhelpful. Not going back again.
Ok, so here’s the deal. I’m not sure of what the bad reviews are about (maybe their timing right after covid?) ….anyway, for us it was a 1st time awesome experience. No, it’s not in a cute part of town, it’s not a looker of a location, and it’s not a place spot to celebrate a fancy anniversary or bday. However, if what you are into is real Vietnamese food, THIS IS THE SPOT in central Austin.
The Pho is a must. We also got the Banh Mi and have to also say that outside of Vietnam, is one of the top 3 we’ve had in the USA.
Seems like they stay busy as a take out/delivery place. We chose to dine in since it was completely empty and had our pick of booth (again, nothing fancy, posh or pretentious, just good authentic food) 👌🏽
I went twice in one week. The kung Pao chicken was the best I've ever had. Huge portions and fresh ingredients.
Update 2/15/23 this used to be my favorite place to go and I would go every week. But over the past year the food has gone downhill. Not sure if it’s new management or what. But they are using some awful tasting spices and and can’t eat there any longer. 😭
Very good food. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely go back again. Thank you.
Great soup and meat dishes. Super busy so plan ahead. Enjoy!
Wish I could give this place more stars but the pho was simply not that good. The noodles were overcooked so they fell apart easily when trying to pick them up. The broth was decent however.
The place is also kind of dumpy.
Oh my god… haha this is some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Jesus.
Sad that ownership has changed because they used to have some of the best cheap pho.
Large pho is 16$ its not bad quality but neither is it the best
Pho is just amazing 🤩 here!!! Atmosphere is relaxed and fresh.
The wonton soup is good, the shrimp fried rice didn’t have much flavor though
Low quality food for a very expensive price I couldn’t finish my plate.
Food was hot, fresh and delicious! Forgot to take pics but will definitely be back. :)
muy amables y la comida muy rica
Best combo fried rice in the neighborhood :)
It’s always my favorite Thai, Asian fusion place to go to. It’s amazing! Always good good food! Especially the infamous pork rolls. I always get my yellow curry there! Everything here is amazing! The Jasmine tea is the best!
The people here are amazing!
Kim phung is a personal favorite that never seems to disappoint, whichever location I go to. I spent $50 +tip on 2 appetizers, a bowl of soup, two entries and a drink. Was it too much for the two of us eating? Maybe. Was it worth it? Yes, worth every penny.
Can't finish? They have to go boxes!
Naw. Sorry but this is mediocre at best (& I am being nice) idk what happened since last time I visited but.. naw... the counter help is just there. Not helpful or friendly, just... there. No waitresses, no tablecloths, no nothing. Everything you need you gotta go get it yourself. The vermicelli was warm not even hot. For a Sunday luncheon there was NO ONE THERE just us... the whole time only 1 person who ordered dumplings & left. Is there no more good vietnamese restaurants out here anymore? So much for Mothers Day! I am very disappointed.
Came in excited to enjoy some of the best quality Vietnamese. It definitely has gone downhill! The spring rolls were not quality, nor presentation looked appetizing. The sauce was cheap made and not the same as before. My soup was cold and hands down poor quality that I’ve seen. Cheaper ingredients are shown in the food. Won’t be coming back anymore as my Austin Vietnamese stop, nor referring.
We waited over thirty minutes until we finally got impatient and said something and realized they had forgotten about us... That being said, the food is so amazing I can’t even really be mad. Like seriously!? Best egg rolls, pepper steak, and hot and sour soup I’ve ever had.
Food was awesome as always but the young lady at the register definitely hates her job, she made me feel like I didnt wanna be there smh lol
I even overheard a few people on the way out from picking up their orders say how you can tell she does not wanna be here. Makes me sad cause this place is so delicious but she made it sour.
Avoid this place, they have gone downhill since they opened other locations. first off the portion is so small. I've always bought the fried rice (combo/ chicken) for years. They first switched to a smaller plate yet increased the price by like 3 dollars the plate now $12 (chicken fried rice). The portion seems to get smaller each time I order. I have placed ordered online with Ubereats and they have giving me the wrong order multiple times. Not to mention the restrooms are disgusting!
Very over priced and also dishonest business practices. It is clearly $16 online and on their printed menus in store for a Chicken and Shrimp combination Singapore noodles(already high) but for some reason it rings in as $18 before tax. No reason other than "the computer rings it in like this". Get a better (and cheaper!) singapore noodles at shu shu's on burnet road (ask for it with curry though).
They did serve me a good portion size and also a local business at least. Worth trying but don't expect anything cheap unless you go during lunch time.
Food Quality and price do not add up, I love a good meal but I just feel like the quality was not worth the price. I tried their pho and it was honestly the worst thing I’ve tasted in a while. I also had eggrolls and crab or goons and I just did not like how they use imitation fake crab, but charge you as if it’s real. I paid $40 for one meal
Horrible experience trying to order online through ChowNow. Our order was confirmed and pickup time was set at 11:40. We got there at 11:50 to pick it up, only to be told they were working on it. 20 minutes later, after other people who ordered after us had already gotten their food, we asked what the problem was as we placed the order 40minutes before.
The girl working told us to "not get an attitude with her" before the manager came out and said the order has in fact NOT been placed. So we had to wait another 15 minutes, and the order still came out wrong. Complete waste of time, and this isn't the first time an order through ChowNow was missed. Oh, and the manager wanted us to RE-PLACE THE ORDER which would have charged me again. This is unacceptable service.
Great food. Fast service. I had the Pho Ga and Shrimp Spring Rolls. Niiiiice!
Over priced, spring roll below par, pho average. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Not the same place it used to be. I ordered one dish to eat there and one to go, they spent 15 minutes and couldn’t even figure it out. That’s the basic service I would expect and they didn’t do it right.
My partner and I always come here, its our number one place for pho. Cures your hangover! Everyone here is really nice as well.
Exelente servicio
Great flavor and great staff
Pho 🤮 fried rice 🤢 general toa 🥴
Customer service is garbage. Lady on the phone has an attitude and doesn’t even know what’s on the menu. Messed up my order and instead of apologizing or offering to remake it, they said they would call me back and never did. I drove up there two days later to get a refund and the owner (Kim) never apologized. Handed me my money and walked away without saying a word. Instead said, “we are busy I cannot talk about it right now. Bye.” The food looked greasy and overpriced. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
Don’t stop here and waist your money. It’s not like it used to be, New owners and they aren’t nice.
Came to eat here with my family only to be let down and disappointed with the quality of food.
My wife order the hot and sour soup and when she’s half way down she finds about a 4” long piece of plastic the size of a noodle. Prior to finding the plastic, my wife went to pour soy sauce and realized it was so dirty you couldn’t even grab it much less pour it out of the container. Also, we order what was suppose to be plain lomain for my son and they still charged us for chicken lomain $7.
Now here’s the kicker to all this- I talked to the manager about the situation and they basically told me that if you eat or even try a bite of the food and you don’t like it and your not satisfied your SOL. We aren’t talking about like the flavor of the food but more less about foreign objects in the food. They told me that i could go ahead and leave my google review and that they don’t care. Well I’m here to help and prove a point about this. Trust me don’t stop here and waist your money. It’s not like it used to be years ago what used to be here favorite restaurant we will never go again. #BADSERVICE #POORATTITUDE
I want to start by saying I like the phö, the vermicelli bowls are usually good, and I’ve only ordered a couple things off the Chinese menu but they were good as well. It’s just the Thai menu items that are awful. The pineapple fried rice has massive chunks of pineapple with no caramelization from cooking and a *lot* of basil (never experienced that elsewhere) but is otherwise bland. The green curry (pictured), I couldn’t bring myself to taste. It didn’t smell like curry at all. I’ve eaten a lot of green curries and I’ve made green curry; this is not a normal color. I did not edit or retouch the picture at all; it’s green-beer level of green. I’ve attached a couple pictures of green curry paste to illustrate the color range that is normal. They, kindly, refunded my money for the green stuff and I will happily order the things that I’ve liked in the past but I will avoid the Thai section of the menu. I’d like to try some of the other dishes; this has somewhat scared me off of that inclination. I asked if they use food dye and they didn’t really answer straight; i just cannot imagine this is a naturally occurring color.
Overpriced for bad quality. Everything served cold and raw and rude manager.
Got take-out from this restaurant and ordered the steak pho, got home and the meat is pink-raw. Not expecting to cook the meat myself when I order from a restaurant. The management was not accommodating. Do not eat here.
Spring rolls. Sesame chicken. Every. Damn. Time.
Love the food. Could use one more person in front to bus tables & clean, but I found a clean table and ate there. Friendly service. Food came out fast.
Soooo yummy!!
Def should go!!
The best hot n sour soup EVER!!!
Food was great. Upon arriving to Kim Phung lady that was in charge said it was 8:20 p.m. that they closed at 9 pm . I thought that was extremely not professional. There were 4 more customers waiting for their food. My family and I ended up ordering our food and ate there. I felt that she was not very helpful at all no customer service skills whatsoever. So for Kim Phung owners you need to talk with your employees about how they can be more flexible and have better customer service.
Great customer service; great food.
I love Vietamese food!! There are several restaurants around town that are good but Kim Phung is extraordinary in flavor & service. Everytime I have lunch or dinner here the meal is very satisfying. They are my #1 choice for Asian food. Thank you Kim Phung for the excellent balance of flavors. My favorite is the seafood pho, the seafood is perfectly cooked not over cooked like other places. Please continue the excellent cooking!
Very delicious food
Dont order from here. I ordered and they waited an hour when the food was supposed to be ready and texted me the meal was canceled for no reason. Now I have to wait for a refund that hasn’t come.
Great pho.... affordable.
They don't care about their customers. Lady started cursing me out after they got my order wrong. I asked for no shrimp, and they just picked the shrimp out of rice. I almost died because I'm allergic to shellfish. I don't even want to give them a start.
Kim phung has been one of my go to places in austin for years. I have never had a bad experience or dish here. I can always count on good eats here.
I am a long term regular customer and I am very disappointed with the service, hot and sour soup was old and we we’re given chicken and beef rice that we had to previously had to send back because my friend was allergic to shellfish and when he started having a reaction they refused to give us a full refund. I’ve never been met with such hostility and a dismissive attitude when bringing it to any restaurants manager attention they have failed at satisfying.
Me encanta el arroz
best hole in the wall noodles place I have found in ATX
Always great food, has never disappointed.
Awesome as always. Bun bi grilled pork rocks!
Very authentic
Yummy
Service 👎 not very good 😕 😒
Just went today and a 20-30 top of people were eating together may have been a family ...we pulled up and half were exiting allllll of them were not wearing masks and smoking right outside the door ... My son and I had to walk thru them :( inside same thing the rest of them were just walking around the restaurants with out a mask .I get that that table probably made you a ton of money but that'sno reason to neglect others safety
Kim phung do betterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Make kim phung same for the community
Everyone was nice and the food was good my only complaint was that every chicken dish we ordered was over cooked.
They give you a lot of food for your buck
Awesome place to eat!!! Please try this don't be fooled by tbe outside appearance the food is super!!!
Excelente
Good place to eat
Always good food
The gal at the front tried making me feel like it was my fault my order was completely wrong. Still left out eggrolls 2nd go around. Place has gone downhill from the old days. Sorry kim p fung. Lost me as a customer
Good egg rolls!!
Great Phó and appetizers. I love coming here to get Phó especially and it doesn't even take that long for it to be prepared

Not the fanciest or cleanest place but the food is great. Everything is good so you can't go wrong with what you order.
Del 100, excelente atención y la comida la mejor
Terrible service, ordered twice , every time order was wrong. was told I will get a refund, still waiting.... terrible terrible service, would not recommend.
Always has great food!!
Don't let the exterior or surroundings fool you - this place is top notch! Decent price, extremely fast service, free veggie egg rolls, incredibly flavorful soup, and tasty entres.
4.5 bahn mi
Facemasks being utilized, pork just right
Great food! Great team!
Just walk right in...get past the awkward ordering..and the food and ambiance is worth it!
Love there orange chicken supper tasty
Expertly prepared fresh ingredients over pho and crisp lettuce....EXCELLENT! BETTER THAN EVER!
Always love the food!
Food was alright, but I was very uncomfortable by the dead rat smell in the whole place. It was really unpleasant. It made my experience not so great
