Taste of Thai is the West Ashley staple for Thai food. It’s the most authentic tasting Thai food I’ve had in town. Granted, I haven’t eaten at too many other Thai spots (3 or 4 others) because this one scratches the itch.

Having been to Thailand three times myself, Taste of Thai reminds me of the local cuisine the most. Everything about it. The staff, the vibe, the food. The restaurant is just dolling out solid Thai food without trying too hard. I hope it never changes.

Great for a lunch date or a lazy Sunday take-out night on the couch. Either way, I know I can stop looking for Thai restaurants in town. This has been our spot for the past few years and for the foreseeable future.

Some recommendations: Pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai, Pad Se Eu, Pad Kee Mow, Thai Wings, Masaman Curry (especially in the winter), or their classic papaya salad.

Taste of Thai is fantastic! Tucked away in a small strip mall, it probably gets overlooked. Set your GPS and ready for some great Thai food. My favorite is the Green Curry with Pork. My wife's favorite is Tom Kha Gai soup. If you like Thai, you'll love Taste of Thai! Give it a try!

Came in on a Wednesday night. (7/24) I placed a to-go order, and it took maybe 15 minutes to make. The Pad-Thai was pretty good with 7 nice size shrimp in it. I also got the curry wonton appetizer. They were good, too. They meal set me back just under $30.

I had the pad Thai and the shrimp basil rolls, which were both phenomenal. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well-kept. I will definitely return here. Enjoy!

Taste of Thai is a don’t judge a book by its cover. Tucked away, but delivers on amazing food.

I eat at this place somewhat often. One day the power went out a few minutes into my meal and they immediately started telling people they are now closed. Trying to write down my card info bc the machines were down. To have visited there alot, they were not helpful when it happened. Not offering Togo containers and really just focused on getting my money. The power came back on once they cleared out the customers, not even 10 minutes later. They still continued to close the place down and kept trying to run my card while the machines struggled to reboot.

Closed between 3-4 I thought people should know. Since I drove out of my way and got there and it was closed. I hope to come back and eat.

The tomkahkgai soup is so good it is my favorite and very good the people here are so sweet the old lady is very kind as well as the server.

A place that was good, now crummy, bland, thin and absent of flavor. Chicken satay tasted very sour, in a bad way. Pad Prik had both over & under cooked elements with almost no flavor. The rice had burnt parts to it. Pad Ki Mao had overcooked mushy noodles, some undercooked onions, 3 pieces of basil & a hint of flavor (ketchup maybe). It has been declining in quality for a little while now. This was our final visit. Hopefully we can find a new place that serves THAI food

My favorite food is Thai and Taste of Thai is authentic, delicious, and have amazing employees! I finally found my favorite restaurant! Tom Kha Gai and Panang curry chicken was exquisite!

We have never had a bad meal here! Always delicious! Our favorite Thai! However, husband ordered through Beyond??? Two watery dishes? No flavor whatsoever. Not what we were looking forward to. Confused about why mistakenly ordering via Beyond resulted in bad meal.

Took the family for lunch. The service was a little slow, and they never checked up on us. No refills or anything, but then they added an 18% gratuity to our bill.

Service was great, very nice people! Curry was very good. Noodle dishes were too heavy on corn starch, wouldn’t get again. Trouble keeping tables bussed during peak dining times.

Awesome Green Curry.

Based on ratings we decided to give this place a shot. We got takeout on our way into charleston. The dumplings were tiny, bland and soggy. The American fried rice was also bland and the food was very low quality. We had two entrées and one appetizer and paid over 50 bucks. I had to force half of it down and threw away the rest. This place is a hard pass!

Always a good and pleasant atmosphere here and the food is excellent tasting and a very good value. The staff is very accommodating and nice people.

My husband is Thai so he's picky on his Thai food. Food was great, the staff was very nice and helpful. It wasn't busy when we came in but was filling up when we were leaving. I got pad Thai because my stomach was a little upset and didn't want to go too spicy. The sauce was some of the best I've had in a long time. Will definitely come back.

Everything was very good and it seems to be pretty authentic. The employees were really nice and helpful and service was fairly fast.
I had Thai tea, crab wontons, and seafood soup. The seafood soup came with a good amount of seafood and lots of noodles. The shrimp, scallops, and mussels also tasted fresh, not rubbery at all. I especially liked the scallops.
The Thai tea was probably my favorite part, it was the best Thai tea I've had. I will definitely be back!

Our favorite Thai restaurant in Charleston. They have the best red curry with chicken.

Very empty looking shopping center so good parking and the restaurant itself was awesome. Great atmosphere and service. The panang curry had a bit of a kick with the 4 spiciness but I wish I would have gotten 5 (Thai hot). Steamed veggies were a really good amount and the rice was cooked perfectly. This beats my normal place and I’d like to come back to try something else.

The food was up to the expectation or beyond. Gave one star for service because they charge 18% graduity for 5people. I have been to sooooo many restaurants throughout the states haven't been charged graduity for 5 people it's always 6or more.

Four of us visited during lunch and we had good food but little explanation - ordered vegetarian red curry , Tom yum soup , basil fried rice.

I just received PadiThi. It was hot. That is the best thing I can say about the bland mess of noodles. No spice. It was so bland I could allow my dog to eat the rubbery chicken I will not order from them again

Love this place but their delivery options are bizarrely limited. They only offer thru Uber Eats and Door Dash and both services offer different items from the menu. For example, you can get crab ragoon off Uber Eats, but not Udon noodles. You can get Udon noodles off Door Dash, but not crab ragoon or edamame, or several other items that we enjoy. Not sure why there is an inconsistency? We would order more often if the full options were available…

Omg this place went above and beyond to make sure that I got my rice to go with my delicious curry chicken. I got home with a container full of bean sprouts instead of rice. The lady from Texas brought my missing rice to me without even being asked. Thank you so much Taste of Thai.

Took my daughter to dinner. She like my yellow curry better than her green. She hates green beans and it was loaded with them. She got all the green beans out and got some yellow curry to pour over the green. She ate every drop. I love the food here. I always get the same thing.

We decided to stop in for some dinner and were blown away at how good the food is. I seldom give 5 stars, but our meals were outstanding! Portion sizes were perfect. Don’t let the location and exterior stop you from going in. As the old saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover.

Was really looking forward to sticky rice , it's been a favorite of mine at Taste of Thai.

Picked up order, back at the hotel after eating spicy pad thai sticky rice covered in thick creamy coconut milk served with sliced mango.
Oh wait in the take out container was a lump of white rice wrapped in plastic wrap. No sauce , no mango.

Pad see-eu noodles and steamed dumplings were tasty, hot, with generous portions with a lot of meat.

The portions are enough to split with another person. Great service, clean restaurant. Never had a bad meal there in over 10 yrs.

It is very disappointing that they got rid of the lunch menu for an all day dinner menu. $17 is too much to pay for a lunch. I want a smaller portion for less of a price. (Although I have no idea about portion sizes. the lunch one used to be smaller.) I supported the restaurant all during the pandemic, getting lunch or dinner once a week at least. I can understand raising prices to compensate for inflation but doubling the price for lunch seems a bit ridiculous. The food is great, but unfortunately my eating there will be curtailed due to cost. It is too bad. Their food is definitely the better of the options, but can not seeing paying $17 for lunch when I am working and not having a special occasion.

I love this place but I’m so sad they took my two favorite items on the menu off their new menu. Please bring back the lemon sea bass. That’s one of the best dishes in town.

Love eating here. I always get way more than I need so I can have left overs. I love the curry noodles at a level 1 hotness. Start off with the fresh spring shrimp rolls. The duck salad is a home run as well.

One of my friends ordered UberEats for me on my birthday and I chose to get Thai food! This place had some really awesome reviews overall, so I ordered the Pad Se Ew, Egg Rolls, and Edamame. It was soooo good! I was happy that I chose Taste of Thai!

Pad Thai was ok, everything else was not good. Chicken Satay was undercooked, so we didn’t finish it. Waiting times were pretty long considering we didn’t order that much.

New in Charleston & lover of Thai food! I’m always looking for a Thai restaurant that accommodates Vegan Vegetarians. Would highly recommend this place. Loved their vegetable with basil sauce and pad thai. They also made the papaya salad without fish sauce! Will definitely be back.

Just a heads up that if you order online, add at least 15 extra minutes onto the time it says your order will be ready. That’s pretty much my only complaint. Other than that, the quality of the food is great
