There were so many food options and each thing we got was DELICIOUS! The staff was attentive and amazing; such kind people. The crab Rangoon appetizer was great, and the sause was yummy for sure! However, my wife's walnut shrimp had a strange sweetness to it that was not to our liking. My asian curry salmon was very good with lots of tasty salmon, but it seemed a bit bland as I expected more heat in this dish.

We will probably give them another try, but it may be a while.

My wife and I called and were given a reservation for Valentine's Day at one of their 2 hibachi tables. We are both in the hospitality industry and were not surprised when the person on the phone told us that it might be a bit longer because of the night. No problem, we were excited to have our infant son out to see and eat and have a great time.

We arrived on time (ahead) of our reservation time. We were seated in the right area behind the bar at a hibachi table. First, we were the ONLY people there with 5 or 6 tables in the main seating area. A young man came and got our drinks and brought them quickly, great start. The man we assumed would be the one doing our hibachi came out about 20 minutes later, he was personable and energetic. He took our orders right away and seemed like, despite having already been there for about 30 minutes, he was going to help us have a fun meal. We ordered a sushi roll as an appetizer, that came about 20 minutes later followed shortly by soup and "salad", literally lettuce with watered down dressing. The weird part, the dressing was in the bottom of the bowl and the lettuce has been placed on top. Nothing else, just lettuce and thin dressing underneath it.

Our hibachi guy came out a bit after to inform us that our child's food was being cooked first because he looked hungry. Ok, cool, but then why isn't is being done out here at the hibachi, isn't that the point? No explanation and he went into the back. He brought the child's meal out 15ish minutes later from the kitchen, no hibachi no show just semi warm broccoli, fish and rice (despite us having ordered noodles).

No other employee contact until a man in a blue hoodie came and asked us if it would be ok if our food was cooked in the kitchen and served in the dining room. No, that was not the point of our visit at all. We called and asked about a hibachi table, were sat and ordered at a hibachi table, the guy came and heated up the hibachi cook surface and then almost 90 minutes into the meal you tell us that's not happening?

We told them we were not interested and that we came for one reason, to have dinner at the requested hibachi table. He offered a 10% discount on our check and handed us a check for $53?!! (Didn't charge us for the two adult entrees but did charge us for the soups and salads that were supposed to be included with the entrees we never got)

I was shocked. They didn't feed us, minus the 1 roll, soups and lettuce and they gave us a bill after we had gotten nothing we had asked for? I paid for what we had eaten and left starving. We went to a restaurant up the street and got takeout with no problem.

Skip this place entirely and go ANYWHERE else for sushi and he hibachi. They obviously have no idea about customer service and there are many better options within 2 miles.

Thanks for ruining our Valentine's Day dinner (our first one out since the new baby), we will be sure to let people know how well you treated us.

My first time trying this restaurant and The food is sooo delicious!!! I knew it was going to be good when I seen Korean chicken and it’s exactly what I was craving! Definitely going back. Very fresh authentic and flavorful. I got the Korean spicy chicken sweet spicy chicken their spicy ramen noodles and also a black garlic tonkotsu ramen noodle bowl and everything was delicious !

Their food is amazing. Big portions and fantastic customer service. Must try their Korean fried chicken. The swicy flavor is the best. Great atmosphere. This is our weekly go to lunch or dinner spot once a week.

I wanted to treat my family to sushi, looked up this place, saw nice photos. Let me tell you...shady spot with gross cooking, a table in the middle filled with dirty dishes, and a desolate location.. this is literally the worst place I have ever eaten at!! This is a Chinese joint that serves Japanese, Korean, Thai and... you guessed it, Chinese. I should have known better and ordered Chinese. But I didn't, I ordered two rolls of sushi, Katsu Curry Don, ramen soup and bubbles teas. Teas were terrible, not the real stuff, this one is with the exploding balls. The sushi came as rice mounds.. not kidding, I should have taken photos. I could not pick it up with the chopsticks, ate with spoons! And when a jolly chef came up to ask how the food was, I mentioned it to him that the rice is falling apart, and it seems to be the wrong rice for sushi. He smiled and said - must be because it's still wet. Well... let me tell you about the sushi rice.. it is STICKIER when wet. Ramen was diluted, barely a hint of the real thing. And the Katsu curry don.. oh my.. gross to look at and gross to bite. That piece of cardboard did not resemble meat at all!... Overall, I work hard for my money, and it truly upsets me that others just wing it! Well, not for my money, ever again.

Love this place!

Such a diverse menu and it was all phenomenal. I love udon noodles, bao buns, and sushi. They had it all and it was all such high-quality.
The Ramen had large slices of perfectly tender roasted pork. Not the paper thin slices you get at most places. The broth was perfectly spiced and flavorful.
The bao were freshly made which took a few minutes but was worth the wait.
My girlfriend got the szechuan tofu which had an amazing sauce.
The owner stopped to chat for a few minutes when he gave us the bill and you can tell he really loves making the food and puts his heart into it. It really makes a huge difference.
I meant to post this earlier but I forgot to take pictures and have been wanting to go back all week but haven't had a chance. Will definitely be our go-to spot for Asian food though.

So I've lived in the greater Reading area for over 30 years. Needless to say, I feel like I'm pretty familiar with the area and know most of the resteraunts. So when we were looking for a place with Sushi at 8:30 on a Sunday...I was pretty confident nowhere would be open. One of my group however found Mikura, which I had never heard of, and found it was close to where my parents worked for years...so I was surprised. I was down, so we went.

I'm not really used to having good tasting pan-Asian cuisine in the area; usually you have to go closer to Philadelphia to get anything decent or you have to just accept you'll have some very basic and serviceable "standard" Americanized Chinese. This wasn't what happened. I ordered the Beef Udon Soup. My dinner companion had meant to order the same, but accidentally ordered the stir fry. So we ended up sharing our platters between each other, and both were fantastic. Someone else got Shrimp Hibachi and a forth person got Coconut Chicken. Everyone loved everything they had. I also got to try some sushi, a mini volcano roll to be specific, and it was equally delightful.

Everything was great. The chef/owner (not sure whom he was) was pleasant and gregarious, the vibe of the restaurant was great, and over all it was an unexpected surprise in the area. We will be back!

Visited for the first time today, and loved the food! We got an eggplant dish and a lemongrass chicken dish with asparagus--both were unique and delicious, and good portion sizes as well. (Also I'm gluten intolerant and it worked out well.) We'll definitely be back!

Food was ok, place was dirty. Granted we got there late no other customers but the place needs to be cleaned. The Soy souce container had old stains on it, the table was old greasy. It is just spot cleaned. It needs a deep cleaning. the foo was ok, the salad was small very mediocre the soup was good. May go back and try again.

Hawaiian poke bowl, chicken and veggies, spice girl roll, all delicious and plenty for leftovers.

The food was good. I ordered the dragon and phoenix, the flavors were out of this world. Only problem was the gelatin wasnt fully disolved and it was way too thick. Plus, I found a chunk of undiscovered gelatin. The monday-friday lunch buffet is my favorite.

Possibly the worst sweet and sour chicken I've ever had. Fried rice had a very odd flavor. (Is that cloves in the rice?) The chicken was cooked into chewy rubber pieces. The batter had no flavor. The egg roll had no crunch and the ingredients had a poor flavor profile. I threw most of it out and I love sweet and sour chicken and I was starving. Absolutely gross. Won't be back for anything. They just don't know how to cook.

Worst hibachi ever. We had a group of 8 people. The food tasted atrocious. No flavor in the rice. Weird tasting noodles like they only used soy sauce for flavor. No sauces were given out, I had to ask for mine. The veggies were burnt & I had very little on my plate. Eventually, everything tasted burnt. My bean curd (tofu) was cooked together with the meat. Flavor was disgusting. They used yum yum sauce (that tastes store bought) for the salad instead of homemade ginger dressing? No sake or food thrown in the mouth like they usually do. Soups were all different? Why did we each get a different soup? The clear soup was super salty and not sure what the other soup was but it was spicy? I asked 3 times for our waters. I was about done eating by the time we got our waters. We got there around 9:30pm. They are open till 11pm. The two workers there were trying. God bless them. But this wasn’t it. I wanted the cook to taste what he was feeding us so bad like “would YOU eat this?” but my momma told me to be nice. So I wrote this review instead. For an almost $300 bill I expected at least the food to be edible. Not coming back

Awful service. Great food. I was asked for drinks then after an extended wait had stop a passing server in order to order an appetizer. Same thing for my meal.
The table hadn’t been wiped down previous to our visit, and was so sticky I had to ask the server to take care of it.
If I’m paying $70 for a meal, I would also hope the server could check back in with the table at least once after being served. But alas, not at Mikura.

This was one of my parents favorite places. Came back to celebrate his life and the owner was so moved to learn of his passing he hugged me! Good food, and very friendly staff!

Wonderful atmosphere with a huge menu and an incredible variety of food, all of which was reasonably priced. Our food was delicious all the way around, and to top it off, the restaurant is owned and staffed by some of the friendliest people I've ever been served by. I highly recommend eating here at least once, or popping in to sample their extensive selection of sake. We will be coming back.

Used to be a lot better. Tried the lunch buffet and aside from the fact there wasn't many options, everything was literally cold, not warm, cold. The person I was with ordered a fountain drink, was $3.50 ! So I hope it was just my lucky day to experience extremely sub-par food and this is not the norm, but if it's a common theme, I hope the owner addresses this as I'd like to try it again, but not any time soon.

We used to really enjoy this place but the quality of the food has taken a nose dive over the past year or so. Even simple dishes like The General or Wonton Soup are pretty terrible anymore. It's a shame because it was historically one of our favorites...maybe they will turn it around some day and if they do, I will update this review.

I’ve been going here occasionally for years and I am always pleased with the taste of the food. I have had one or two bad experiences at every other Asian restaurants in town, but never this one!

The customer service is great, too. The owner / manager is such a great guy and deserves all the business he gets. Also, he just gave me a free bourbon chicken to try (it was a special today) so that got me hyped up to leave this review!

Mikura is also opening at Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. It also has events in these days

Found this place after visiting my dad in Reading Hospital. Everything else was closed (at 8 pm. Weird). SO glad we stopped in. They have an extensive menu, and the food was absolutely delicious. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a comfortable, clean place. Staff was awesome. Highly recommend the garlic pork. It was spicy enough to make my eyelids sweat, but I couldn't stop eating it!

This was our first time there, My wife and I had the Lunch Buffet, not bad price $12.95. Soda $3.50, I should have got a beer,lol. Food was very good ,hot and some spicy selections. Our wait person created us with a dirty plate in his hand, and ask what we wanted to drink, but not my wife.We both got the same beverage.
We will go again , overall an 8-10 points from us.

The Chef Seafood plate was a bit too spicy for us. But we'd order it again and ask for less heat. Looking forward to future take-out.

By far one of my favorite places to eat! Their Cindy roll is so tasty and everything tastes so fresh! The hibachi soup is so delicious and the sushi is made right in front of you.

The smallest piece of fish I have ever gotten in my sushi. Sounds and looks like a joke. Yeah, you can barely see it. And yes, not could even taste the salmon. That supposed to be a Philadelphia roll. I feel like they just made a joke. First and last order from this place. Very disappointed.

I definitely ordered from here a couple times and I must say that food is good. I had the California Roll/Eel Avocado, Sashimi Avocado Salad, and the Vietnamese Egg Rolls. Also, I think it was male owner who gave me these noodles wit veggies (not sure of name of dish but I'll ask the next time) but that was really enjoyable.

I ordered a curry dish and when I arrived to pick it up, I was given a side of chicken on the house. I suspected that it had been sitting for too long but I ate it anyway. I should have trusted my initial suspicion because I've now been dealing with food poisoning for the last two days.

My food was the most tasteless slop I've ever been served at a restaurant.

Specifically had a conversation with the owner about wanting my food so spicy it would choke me, he said "That's very easy, it's harder to make it not spicy than too spicy" - so great I thought, we were waiting for about 30 minutes with empty drinks, and were eventually served our "food" about an hour and fifteen minutes after ordering.

I had a few bites and was really confused about the total lack of flavor and absolute lack of spice.

I fed mine to my dog, my friend ordered chicken curry, there was very little meat, and he also took a few bites before he decided his food was terrible as well.

I would never recommend this place based on how tasteless the food was, even my dog was hesitant to eat the food.

We were literally the only customers in the restaurant and it still took a long time for our food to come out. The sushi/sashimi tasted at least a day old and the fried rice was so bland it tasted like dish water. Our bill with tip was nearly $100. What a disappointment. This place used to be really good, but not anymore. The dogs got the leftovers.

How is this place still open? Several reviews mention cockroaches crawling all over the restaurant, and after ordering once (before reading reviews), we found cockroaches in THREE different containers. When I shared our experience with local friends, we were disgusted after being sent photos from their meals with the same experience.

We hit them at prime time 5:15pm on Thanksgiving eve 2022. We were promptly seated to a semi full house and they handled our orders and drinks and cocktails all while still rushing all the door dash orders out the door. Our food arrived hot and in a timely manner. They followed up with us throughout the meal tonsee if we needed anything and we continued to be full on drinks. When the menu came Inwas shocked at how reasonably priced they were. We had apps, main couse, and Mochi ice cream. The menu had something for everyone wothout being too overwhelming. A+

His attitude was not so much "toward" us, but he definitely was having a bad day and was not trying to hide it. Our waitress was pleasant and helped us with finding a roll that we would like. The atmosphere was just okay 🫤 It wasnt fancy and was casual. The price was a bit high for the selection. Overall I'd rate it a 6 out of 10.

Really good food from the money. Definitely the best oriental food that I have found in the greater Reading area, and I am fussy about oriental food. Nice polite people that own and operate this place. Wide variety of choices. Probably in the hundreds of foods to choose from. Chinese, Thai, Sushi, and Hibachi, they have it all Small place, with great atmosphere. I have eaten the lunch buffet, and take-out, both were very good. Yes! I will be back! This place is not very well known, and I do not know why. One of the best things about this place, is you likely will have no wait, even on Saturday night!!!! I highly recommend this place. I don’t know of any better oriental food in the greater reading area.

Overall amazing! The Crab Rangoon, Steamed Dumplings, and Peking Duck were incredible. The menu has Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Korean options. The servers were very polite and friendly! Definitely coming back again soon.

Amazing! Definitely our favorite. Food, the owner and staff, and atmosphere are all amazing. Sushi and sashimi, hibachi, lo mein, it's always so delicious!

We had high hopes for this place but we were disappointed.
The children's hibachi plate was adult size portion. The rice was soggy, the noodles had a metallic taste and the food was lukewarm...we enjoyed the sushi and general tso but that's it.
On the bright side the portions were large and the service was acceptable.

Ordered chicken teriyaki but got more veggies then chicken....whole bottom of tray was just veggies (pictured) and this was after I ate some already...they put meat on top so it looks like it's full but it's not... rice was also very mushy....chicken was good but I guess veggies are what I ordered with chicken on the side....don't think I'll be back especially with pricing....

Entire staff was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ & the restaurant manager Li was so personable and friendly. Lychee & Peach saki were amazing. Tempura Jalapeno Spicy Tuna (spice lovers 👍) & Tempura Avacodo Crab were fantastic. New fav spot.

I stopped here for lunch with my mother. we ordered sushi and chinese food. My Mother liked the food so much she ordered a to go order for dinner.

My Wife and I will not go back. Waitress unfriendly and both of our Plates of Food was cold. And very expensive for what you get.

I usually don't write reviews but this needs to be said. I gave the one star because the delivery was on-time but everything else was nasty. The sauce was dripping ALL over the bag but that's not the worst part. After eating two shrimp I realized they tasted strange like bleachy. I will never order from this place AGAIN!

I had better kimchi and korean bulgogi. Theres was a bit too salty than usual and bbq should not have somewaht flavored broth to it.

The food is so fresh and delicious. Their hibachi salmon is the best I've ever had! They were also very accommodating. I highly recommend!
