Old-school institution offering traditional Thai stir-fries, curries & noodles in a cozy atmosphere.
Pretty good food. Nice people serving you. We had the Crab Rangoon to start, very π tasty. Then had the noodle variety platter with beef. Very fresh and tasty. We also tried the Crispy duck with fresh spinach. Exceptional... moist and luscious.
The prices are quite high for The Dalles. There is enough on each plate
for two servings. So sharing might be a smart idea. Good beer selection too. A bit of trivia... this restaurant was once the "Arctic Circle"drive in !
We got takeout and the food was good but the portions were much smaller than other places weβv been to. The curries we got were also too sweet for our taste, but good flavor otherwise.
Fine food Truly fine I'm a red curry kinda person and they can make a satisfying batch

Sign says βClosedβ outside. Just a heads up so you donβt waste your time going. I guess they had issues with staffing.
A lot to be desired :( didn't eat enough to get sick. No way I would recommend it.
Currently closed due to staffing shortage. A sad blow to The Dalles. Hopefully they'll be open again come spring.
Delicious food π
We moved from Portland not long ago and Iβm so happy to know we have a great Thai place that we can regularly eat at! Great food available and the staff are so friendly.
Ate in but food came in take out containers and paper plates. Fresh vegetable wraps were almost solid lettuce..could barely see a bit of carrot and noodles in the middle. House special red curry tolerable. Don't bother with the Tom Kah soup. Both too heavy on the fish sauce. We won't be back.
One of the best restaurants in town. Also the best thai food I've ever had. You will not be disappointed with any item. I've tried quite a few. Do your self a favor and get hooked on this place!
Love the food here!! Especially the duck curry
Unhappy with pad thai uncooked
Very good yellow curry and pot stickers!
The price is definitely fare for how much food you get as well as the quality!
Perfect spiciness and very filling
Love this place only place I would train in the dallas πͺπ
Every time we find ourselves going through The Dalles we stop at Montiras; we even ordered our small wedding party dinner from here after our ceremony in 2020. Highly recommend.
Good food. Good staff. Not to over priced.
I don't know what happened to my favorite pumkin curry dish!! I've been a long time customer but my last experience was just awful!! The dish was so fishy tasting & spicy it wasn't Palatable! Maybe a diffrent chef? So disappointed that I'm not going to order what was my favorite dish ever again!!
Good food and quick service
My mouth and stomach are SO Happy! The servings were a great size, and the flavors were delicious! I loved the mango sticky rice at the end, our dishes were both very flavorful, and with all the vegetables, I felt so healthy!
Friendly staff, speedy service, small portions, bland flavor, stingy on the meat.
Great flavors and willing to make items vegan.
Worst Thai food Iβve ever had. Pad Thai was bland and mushy
The house special curry is absolutely delicious! Pumpkin curry is also REALLY good!
This is more a review of the price for what you get than staff. We ordered the sample plate that's was 17.00 and came with 3 egg rolls (small) and 5 crab puffs also small and 4 dumplings. Seemed wrong so we asked. Nope that was it. Then we got the wrong entrΓ©e. The staff were nice about refunding us. But I wouldn't go back.
The first time I went to this place it wasn't very good this time excellent. Very good Thai coffee this timeππ€©.
Quick update...they are open to eat inside now, but just as takeout. I think they are having staffing issues as are most restaurants. Still good food.
Great meal this evening. I usually just get soups there, but went for a fried rice today and it was tasty!! It was the sweet and sour. Our server was outstanding and made the whole experience wonderful!! Definitely recommended!!
Great food, fantastic staff who were very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend.
Theyβre a great restaurant and I do enjoy their food. Although it really disappoints me when I order extra peanut sauce and they donβt give me any on to go orders. The problem is that it seems to happen all the time.
The salads are great.
My favorite Thai place; however don't get fresh wraps after 1. The rice paper cover was hard and not good. Threw it out.
Absolutely excellent yellow curry, vegan options, and friendly staff
Their Thai food is authentic and exceptionally good! Service was quick and efficient.
Good food. Had to knock for along time to get anyone to come to window so I could pick up my order.
Great food
Take out only right now but the panang was fabulous.
Great food. Too; bad it's takeout only.
We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were disappointed that the dinning room was closed. We did get take-out and took it to the park down the road. The food was delicious and in my opinion it appeared to be authentic. The park worked out nicely by the way.
Consistent, excellent food
Best Thai in the Gorge in my opinion, with my favorite item being the House Curry. You will find dishes such as Pad Thai noodles, Salads with Thai themes and soups. There is also Duck on the menu, Tilapia fish, Stir Fry dishes and great desserts. I have tried nearly every item on the menu at one time or another, and would recommend them all.
Ordered over phone. Ready on time, accurate, and well packed for take out. Plastic ware, napkins, chop sticks available. No dine-in. Tasty Thai, better than expected. Easy parking.
Delicious food, chill ambience, great company. Loved it!
The staff is super nice and helpfull! Thanks so much for the great food everyone!
I ordered the 32 with beef and mosied back to the hotel. When I popped the lid to the curry I knew I had chosen wisely. Tastes awesome.
First time I have tried this place was today, for some odd reason I always thought it to be another Mexican restaurant but found out it was Thai which is one of my favorites. I forgot to take pictures but I had the Tom Kah and the pad see ew and they were both amazing! Reminds me of my favorite place on the coast. Thank you so much for a great experience
Looking forward to dining inside again. I've never had anything at Montira's that I didn't like!
Curry for days! This place serves up amazing food at a great price! Never disappointed!
My wife and I were in the area, tried two different curry dishes and thought they were both excellent. My wife had the vegetable house special curry and I had the beef massaman curry. The beef was tender and very flavorful. Both came with cooked white rice. We would definitely go back here again when we are in the area.
Montira's is one of my favorite Thai places! SO good, and always consistent. I've been eating here for years, love it π»
As a vegetarian living in The Dalles, there aren't too many places that I like to eat out. Montira's is my go-to because of all the veg options that are super tasty and hearty. I always order a tofu curry and it's packed with veggies. The best Thai food in the Gorge and on par with many places in Portland.
Awesome take out!
They are only doing take out because of the state restrictions but the food and service are top notch, as usual.
I ordered takeout on phone. The cook had a hard time understanding me, so I told her over and over! She did make it vegan; we think. When I got there they had me pay first! What? I didnβt order noodles we are restricted from that! She told me no, I did order that. What? She is calling her costumer a liar! Then , when I took the foods to my daughterβs room, the food was so bad, that my grandson cried it taste like rubber. I think that most of the stuff was cooked with frozen and overly oiled produce. There was such distraught children that it took a long time to calm things down! We bought microwaved food that tasted better to grandson and us. I would never go there again it took 1/4 ,$67 of my monthly SS for that horrible meal. Never would go there because the costumers are always right! Horrible food and attitude!
Bland and cold. Didn't understand request for gluten free.
I have spent time in Thailand. Nothing stateside compares but this restaurant is very good. The restaurant is owned by a Thai woman and her American husband. They are both top drawer people. Notice the picture of the owner in the cabinet by the door receiving her college diploma from the King of Thailand. She's cooking tonight. Ignore the negative reviews, this is as good as it gets, better than anything I have had in Portland. Don't whine about food being to spicy hot. Thai food is often fiery hot. Shut up and eat or go to Burger King. Eat the duck curry and the Som Tom salad. Smile.
Every time is great at Montira's. Got Pad Thai and House Curry. Delicious.
Fast friendly service. Easy and safe during Coronavirus to order and pick up
Fantastic Thai food, great staff!
Absolutely delicious!
Best Thai food in The Dalles. We drive from Hood River just for lunch!
Better price/quality ratio than most places in town. Good taste, great presentation, reasonable value.
This has been a favorite place for our extended family for several years. The food is freshly-prepared and always tasty regardless of what we order.
Always good, dependable and fresh
The food is great here and so is the staff. I like the natural lighting from the windows. It's a calm place to go with friends and enjoy some Thai cuisine!
Great food and a lot options that fit my diet.
Great food, people service. Very reasonable prices.
Curry! That is all you need to know! Comfort food at it's best! Try the house curry if you LOVE peanuts. Yummm!!
It's a nice place. The staff is very friendly. The best Thai food in The Dalles
Not sure how the jungle curry is not a soup, but I'd recommend against it. Generally, flavors and dishes were not as good as last visit across the board.
Excellent food with friends. Cozy and friendly with great variety of thai cuisine.
Not cheap but worth it for a splurge. Great food!
Excellent food!
House curry yum
Really a treat
Really really good drunken noodles. Pumpkin curry good too.
Excellent food at good prices!
Very tasty delicious food
Food was good, flavorful. Definitely not the best thai I've ever had, but it satisfied the craving we had. Would return
Really good food, fair prices. Service was fast for as busy as they were and the lady had no problem splitting 1 check 3 ways at checkout with 3 cards, we were very appreciative of the service.
Competent but not exciting and the portions were not generous
Love this place but tonight was disappointed.
Eat here 8 times a year. Thai chicken was Thai Carrotts w not much chicken
Less than half chick breast. Took 15 min to get wine , 30 minutes for dinner.
Owner was cooking but need more help out front and another coming in kitchen.
Please fix this cause we live the food.
The food is always amazing. Usually the are fast and polite. Tonight getting our food was slow and our waitress was as well.
Excellent tom kah, pad tai and the pad ka-prow. My to go place for thai. Cheers
I have had type food only one time and did not have a good experience or enjoy it. This was my second trip to a Thai restaurant. The service was exceptional the staff was commendable and the food was terrific. I had a friend with me that help me order. I got the yellow curry with chicken and now I have a favorite Thai food. Wonderful service for a group of us and quick and efficient. Very friendly staff
Always friendly staff. The owner is on site and visits with people. Nice touch. Beautiful presentations on most dishes. Excellent salad rolls.
Best salad rolls
Not the best Thai food, but not much choice in The Dalles. The stir fry is way too salty.
Really delicious, but a bit slow in coming with the food. That's the reason for 4 stars. The food is fresh and good tasting!
So many great options! For kids, too. They were busy but service was fast.
Tasty Thai food is served with good service in a pleasant atmosphere. The fresh rolls (elsewhere known as salad rolls) are an excellent appetizer. We had three different dishes and shared them; all were quite good and the spice just right. The parking lot is tricky to approach from the east so it's safer to go around to come in from the west.
Superb dishes and friendly service. The best yellow curry in the northwest, no joke!
Okay taste, decent service, okay prices.
The food is ok here. The curry didn't taste like curry and was too soupy. The Pad Thai was alright.
The whole menu is great
Excellent thai
A really superb place to eat in The Dallas!
Best Thai I've had in awhile. Got some curry, spring rolls, and a side order of sticky rice with a bottle of sweet chili sauce. I got my order to go, so I couldn't really tell you about the inside or wait staff. I know for my Birthday I was to stuffed to go to the bar for a pitcher. Awesome!
The quality here is top notch. Definitely get the wontons. Some of the best I've had in a long time.
Montiras is our weekly go to and never disappoints β‘
The best curry Iβve had. Couldβve used more rice but man it was delicious
The three flavor crispy fish is awesome. Thanks for deliciousness and friendly service!!
They overcharged my Mango w/ sticky rice. When I brought it up with the cashier, he said, βwell, we are in the middle of changing the menu pricingβ. Instead of admitting a screw up, and honor the current menu price, theyβd rather be jerks about it. Itβs only a $1.50, so I didnβt argue about it, but itβs in the principle. I normally tip well, but not this time. They should take a lesson in business decency.
Woman I was with Was reely good but it was about the amazing
Love the food and really good service
Very good food. Not your run of the mill Asian food. This is really good stuff. Great service. Good atmosphere.
Good costumer service and food. I love their pad thai and their dessert- home made coconut ice cream
Food was good. Everything a little overcooked. I'm guess that's because its pre cooked then microwaved. But over all decent restaurant.
Delicious
Food was delicious. Portions are small on some dishes for the price.
Thai chicken was super dry & beef pad see ew was tough to eat... so disappointed!
Got my meal wrong the first time. Quick fix. Very good food. Would definitely go back!
Good food and almost up to par service....
Great place, wonderful food and amazing people!
