I didn't have high expectations on the food but boy was I wrong. Not only was the food delicious, the portion was huge. It was able to last for two meals for two people. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for delicious Thai food.

When we were about the leave the waitress was quick to say what we didn’t leave a tip. In front of other people in the restaurant. That made us really uncomfortable and was basically begging for a tip. And saying that they lives off tips.

I would have given her a tip if she was more polite and more respectful to us.

Was the most perfect meal after an 10 mile hike. Pho was just on point. We actually stopped here cause another review said it was the best Pho. Which did not fail! I highly recommend

Heard about the curry here from a friend. Good portion sizes, tasty food, lots of options and friendly staff. Will be going back! Had the spring rolls and pad see ewe, will try curry next! All was very delicious.

Food is great.

We ordered the Orange Chicken and some Teriyaki Chicken. We have both have hade this numerous times at other restaurants and the Orange Chicken has never tasted this bad, it didn't even tast like Orange Chicken. We told the waiter and all she said (in a very rude manner) that it was with real oranges, she didn't offer anything else basically your stuck with it deal with it.

Another dish and another amazing meal. I love sandee thai. The lady at the front has always sweet and polite in my many interactions with her.

Elderly lady behind the counter wouldn't accept our gift certificate stating that it was, “expired”. She then proceeded to take the gift certificate from my wife so we couldn’t even try and use it again with a more polite employee. Expiration dates on gift certificates is illegal in the state of Oregon. What she did is no different than stealing money from us.

Had dinner on a Thursday night in this adorable restaurant. Mango spring rolls, panang curry, spicy basil and drunken mama noodles were all delicious and spiced as we requested. If we lived here, we would come every week!

I was going to give this place a 5 star review because I won't lie, the food was delicious, BUT I disliked how rude and volatile the owner was (old lady who runs the front and waits tables). She doesn't seem to understand that you cannot treat customers in an aggressive manner. It was quite unpleasant and uncomfortable. I don't recommend the place due to this.

The lady had a horrible attitude. She rushed us. The restaurant got our food order wrong. Gave us a “vegan” plate with egg in it. Completely unacceptable.

Cashier was comically rude. I felt like was in an episode of Seinfeld. She kept threatening us to hurry up and order and complained that the cooks only had 25 minutes to make the food (it was 8:29) Truly unbelievable

I have yet to experience dine in but I have had it delivered! Oh my word so good! I adore the spring rolls and really enjoyed the drunken noodles!!! Cant wait to dine in!

We have LOVED Sandee Thai for years, and eat here whenever we are passing through Silverton. But COVID inserted itself and kept us away for too long.

Until today. Visiting Silverton Gardens to celebrate our wedding anniversary, I knew just where dinner would be. And are we pleased! Yellow curry, fried rice, lettuce wraps and eggplant were JUST what we'd been craving. The meal was the best we've had since we were in Thailand. We recommend Sandee Thai to anyone anywhere near Silverton.

And the service was as wonderful and charming as in Thailand! The BEST part came as we were leaving, and Toi came running after me with a big smile and my wallet - which I had dropped. She is an angel!

Take my advice - go out of your way for a delicious and memorable meal at Sandee Thai.

the food is FANTASTIC Absolutely must try the curry, the meat always comes out tender, if you ask them to make it spicy they will make it REALLY SPICY, the flavor is everything. the curry always comes out fast, too. also try the thai tea, its well mixed.

My favorite dine in/takeout place in silverton. My go to is any of their curries. With lots of flavor and generous portion sizes Sandee Thai in Silverton will always have a special place in my heart.

Did they get a new cook? Been going for years and this last Friday and again on Sunday proved to be the worst two meals I have ever purchased from Sandee Thai. On Friday, I tried a new dish and figured the young waitress forgot to tell cook to put any spice (or flavor) in the dish so I went back on Sunday to try a classic ... pineapple curry. It was mostly curry sauce with no spice. underwhelming and lacking. Added rice to make rice and curry. Silverware came after food presented. Sad that the young folk don't really seem to care. Wondering if they got a new cook. Will try one more time, just to see if there is any reason to keep coming.

We came in close to closing and we were not very warmly welcomed. They made it clear that they preferred. We started our dining experience earlier. I was very underwhelmed by the presentation of my dish. It was plain rice and plain meat and there was nothing special about it at all. The server seems kind of crabby. It took a while to get our food so they probably cook to order, which is good, but we weren't offered beverages or any other distraction or service so we just sat there and waited. I expected so much more. I feel bad leaving such a downer of a review but for what I paid for dinner, I left feeling very disappointed. I guess I feel like a customer should not be made to feel like an annoyance. I'd rather they would have told us it was too close to closing and we should try them another time.

Bad service

We came in on our way home to Central Oregon from the Portland area. I had my medical alert service dog with me, which initially seemed like it was going to be a problem, and they seemed hesitant to seat us. They did end up seating us but did so at a table off in a corner that hadn't been cleaned very well. The service from there was just okay, but the food was less than impressive. Fried tofu was flavorless, the sweet chili sauce for apps was weirdly and overly floral, and the Pad Thai that my mother-in-law ordered was absolutely the worst I've ever had. The noodles were overcooked, the sauce was too sweet, and when we had my son taste it later, he said it tasted too much like peanut butter. I ordered the yellow curry with pork, and while the curry itself had good flavor, the potatoes were cut too large, there wasn't enough rice for the amount of curry, and having ordered a 4/5 star spice level- it came at perhaps a 2.
Overall, we kind of left with some disappointment, and I wouldn't be inclined to return if we were passing through again.

Only real vegan food here unless you go to Thai Dish but Silverton is kinda small. The service here is awesome. They will bring you more props if you are trying to use salt and pepper to explain to your husband how the Galactic Federation is moving into our star system. And they won't even judge you about it :]

The food was excellent service was phenomenal sphere was actually quite nice it's a historic building so I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I order the chicken drunken noodles and we’re extremely sweet, I ask if they can make me another plate but with no sugar. She said no because all of the noodles were already made with the sweet sauce. She also said that I was still have to pay for the noodles, if I didn’t want them that I had to take it home. Awful service and awful food. Will not come back to this place again. Also I do not recommend it.

I ordered food, went slightly over budget, considered to tip but the lady who took my order was rude and seemed to be displeased of us being there to order dinner. No I did not go in right before closing; a few people came in after me and ordered food. They were offered drinks while they waited, I had my 3 year old and husband with me. We'd been waiting a while but my 3 year old was quiet, and patient as we were waiting and I pointed out to my husband how rude that was to offer them but not us... She rolled her eyes at me and when our food was ready she just rushed us out the door. Very rude people there.

Impressed with the fresh spring rolls. Packed full of veggies, fresh and crunchy, three large ones per serving, that was an excellent price and they have several options like mango and avocado, which I've never seen before at a thai place. The lime sauce that came with was delicious.

Silverton has two Thai places and this one is my favorite. I even come here when I need a Chinese fix instead of going to the one Chinese place in town. The pickings may be slim around here, but I think Sandee Thai would stand out anyway in any larger town! I haven't had a dish I didn't like and I'm determined to try all of them.

Everything here is delectable. The service is top notch. The Brown rice is purple. They seat you immediately, water is presented within seconds. They give you to go boxes without you having to ask, and they have great sauces, and extras as well. This is REAL Thai food, and high quality meat that is fresh too.

You will love their menu, prices and incredible flavor.

Had the best Thai meal I’ve had anywhere else. At first glance doesn’t seem like much. But as you walk in you smell traditional spices and aromas from kitchen. The pork pad gai was absolutely amazing. Perfect combination of spices and flavors. I ordered level 2 spiciness and it was exactly right. The ginger in the meal was so fresh and present. Wide Noodles were cooked to perfection.

What a treat to find great Thai food in a small town. Every dish was delicious and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They use soy sauce from Thailand which is gluten free! I was able to taste the dishes with full seasoning instead of having to ask for no soy. Portions are generous.

Amazing thai food in the heart of Silverton! The hosts were super friendly and allowed us to customize dishes according to our vegetarian preferences. If you’re hungry after a long hike in Silver Falls area, a scrumptious lunch at Sandee’s fill your tummy and heart :-).

All of the good food that used to be served here is now at their Keizer location. This is now the stepchild location.

We’re limited on Thai restaurants in Silverton and Sandee is delicious and consistent with their food. I always enjoy eating from there; I have yet to dine-in, only done takeout and the estimates are typically accurate except for a couple of instances (holidays, for example). Great food, kind staff, and really good portions. They usually throw in a free appetizer, too!

Phenomenal food, huge portions. I am impressed by how fresh, technically flawless, and complex everything taste and look. We got two appetizers and two entrees between two hungry people and got one extra meal for the next day. Very glad we get to eat here while on vacation!

We were really excited to try the Thai food here. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. Very basic, kinda bland. The chicken was kinda tough and chewy. We got the lemongrass chicken, teriyaki chicken, and drunken noodles w/chicken. They also gave us free potstickers, which was nice of them. In all honesty, the potstickers were probably best part of the meal. Overall, we wouldn’t go back.

Their food is amazing! The Tom Yum the larb salad, the summer/salad rolls! The lady working at the front taking all of the orders is so on top of everything too! Very friendly and considerate staff. I do wish people could understand they are SHORT STAFFED! Imagine being in the restaurant business during this giant covid mess! And they are NOT a fast food place. So if you need to stuff your face ASAP maybe just swing by McDonald’s. Otherwise, if you appreciate good food and have an ounce of patience for it to be prepared… this place is it!

Love this place, this is the best restaurant in Silverton in my opinion. The Tom ka is the best soup I have ever had. The other place around the corner from Sandee doesn't compare. P.s don't judge a book by its cover.

Dropped in on the way back to Portland. We ordered the green curry and Tom yum noodle soup. It was delicious and tasted like the food in Thailand. Also great gluten-free and vegan options. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Worst customer service EVER. We placed an order. I sent my daughter to go get the order. (16) She brought the order home. It was the wrong order. I called. She asked us to bring the food back. She then yelled at my daughter. Told her it was the correct order. This order was $67. Ours was $37. Then told us they were having the other people bring their food back and we could exchange food. She then shoved a receipt in her face, stating we were not overcharged. Which we knew, but it was not our food and we were not going to keep $67 in food that was not ours. Unbelievable. I called to talk to her to explain my kiddo is only 16 and if she could just be nice to her as this was not her fault. She said she didn’t have time to argue with me, which I was not doing….and hung up. NEVER AGAIN. I have never been treated so poorly because someone else messed up an order. There is never a reason to scold a teenager for something she had nothing to do with.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The restaurant is kinda old and a bit outdated, so I wasn't expecting much, but when the food arrived, wow. We were a party of 6 and we all ordered different entrees, and everyone of them was really good. Will definitely go back if I'm in town again.

Best thai food in the salem area. They are excellent about making sure that all diet types can eat. Im a gluten free, Vegan due to allergies and I have never gotten sick from them, the food is excellent. I prefer spicy food, if you're looking for authentic, great tasting Thai food, look no further Sandee is excellent.

Never had even the slightest issue with any order I've ever done. BEST pho I've EVER eaten! And I'm pretty picky with pho. The fried rice is also AMAZING!!!

Picked up take out here for the first time. Ordering over the phone was easy. Order ready in about 25 minutes. Food was fresh and flavorful. Vegetables were crisp tender as they should be. Meat was cooked just right. Portions were generous. Good value for the price. We live about 20 minutes from town. Will definitely order again.

Not one to really complain about service, the last few times we visited the woman helping with the checkout process isn’t very friendly. Charging us extra for a few items after placing our order. We love the food here but the attitude of whoever works with the public needs a shift. I’ve worked with customers in retail and restaurants and the customer shouldn’t have to feel bad after ordering certain items on the menu. It’s a shame because I know a lot of people love this place. I’m just going to take our business to a friendlier Thai food restaurant.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! This was our first time ordering from Sandee Thai in Silverton, but it will not be our last. Everything was so so good!! The avocado curry w/ chicken fell from heaven...we shared it but should have just ordered 2. It was smooth, creamy & delicious. Pineapple fried rice was incredible. Slight curry flavor with savory/sweet pineapple, chicken and shrimp. The chicken pad thai was so yummy. We ordered it medium spicy and it was perfect, not too hot. The fried spring rolls were not greasy at all, nice and crispy & a nice surprise was a free side of dumplings w/ our order. Yum!! It was packed perfectly to-go and the service was great and safe, especially during COVID-19. Thank you Sandee Thai, we will be back again & again❤👍🏼👍🏼

Staff is nice and they have a good environment. Im willing to try another dish but i felt that my pad thai lacked flavor and looked nothing like the website picture. I didn’t have a great first impression but I’ll have to try something else.

Really awesome food! Had the avocado rolls and pad eggplant. Serving sizes are great, with definitely the possibility of leftovers, and prices are reasonable. Definitely a jewel of silverton!

Although I'm from the Seattle area, I recently ate hear when visiting some family. I must say that not only does this restaurant have a wide selection of authentic Tai food but their prices and portions are quite reasonable. The food is served hot and exquisitely delicious down to the very last morsel. All of the above matches their cleanliness and kind hospitality. If I'm ever in that area of Oregon again, I'll most certainly look forward to another meal at the Sandee Tai Restaurant. I am not receiving any form of royalty or commission for this posting. Cute atmosphere, nice ambiance and great service. I personally prefer the food at the other Thai place in town a little bit better, but I like the “feel” of this one better. So I would recommend!

I’m a lover of Thai food. Sandee is on my short list of must go-to places. I took my staff there for a luncheon. Their staff was spot on with hospitality and service. We were never left on our own. The food. So delicious. We got such a variety. Curry, noodles, vegetables, soup. If you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about. If you never been, make the drive and indulge.

A delicious family owned restaurant. I go here every time I'm in Silverton. Don't let it's run-down appearance turn you away. It's some of the best food around!
