Had a fantastic experience at Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine. The atmosphere was super cute and the presentation of everything was impeccable. The salmon and the sauce it came with was delicious and my boyfriend’s stew was the best one he’s ever had. The broth had so much depth and flavor and a bit of spice. Definitely excited we found this place during our vacation and I hope to come back if we are ever in town.

This place offers so many different experiences from the aesthetic and atmosphere to the quirky touches on their drinks. I ordered a mocktail and not only was it pretty but so delicious. The quality of service from our server was wonderful; she was attentive and provided wonderful recommendations. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the Portland area.

This was a wonderful meal. The seafood was perfectly cooked - tender shrimp, juicy scallops, flavorful mussels. Love the quirky, fun atmosphere. Dishes are presently artistically. My crab fried rice had a thin crown of scrambled egg, which was a really nice touch. Perfect thing to do before catching a play at the armory.

First time here. And we really loved it. Soooo much flavor! We liked the Khao Soi, the papaya salad, the wagyu roll things and definitely the Ceying Tiger! It was sooo delicious! You won’t regret eating here.

I just had a really nice meal at this Thai place. The food was good, hitting all the right flavors without being too over the top. The staff were super friendly and even moved chairs around when we brought our baby in a stroller. The vibe is cute and laid-back, and their fun, aesthetic drinks were a cool bonus. Definitely a spot I’d go back to!

Visiting here from NYC. In NYC we have pretty top notch Thai so I’m a harsh critic! I wasn’t let down! Not only is the food delicious and flavorful, the presentation is amazing as well!

I got the khao soi nuea which was amazing. Short rib falls off the bone! My wife got the Volcano noodle also with short rib. It was spicy so be careful!

I will say the price is a little high but makes sense why considering the presentation and flavor.

Highly recommend to anyone visiting looking for a unique Thai experience!

Fun atmosphere, great food. We ordered the crying tiger and a dumpling appetizer. Crying Tiger was a very generous portion for two people, and the flavor was excellent, and the meat was very tender. The dumplings were a little underwhelming.

Farmhouse Thai is probably the best Thai food I have ever had. When I say you can’t go wrong with literally anything on the menu, I mean everything is to die for! Staff is very kind and attentive, 10 out of 10 recommend!

Incredible food and people! We got the Steak Salad and it was the perfect balance of flavors with super tender steak. Ginger tea hit the spot and was a perfect addition to our meal. We will absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Awful service with dishonest servers who want a review for free dessert that they promised and then refused to provide.

Then after asking, they said sorry the kitchen is closed. Well we sat around for 20 minutes waiting for a check and dessert.

They argued, lied, and then apologized and brought it to us.

Also beware, the menu isn’t the same every day so plain pad Thai is not an option on weekends. Thai Peacock a block away is so much better.

Restaurant

The first thing that hits you about Farmhouse Thai is the atmosphere. Excellent design choices mix a moderne atmosphere with heavy East Asian influence. Speakers that are just loud enough to vibe to play poppy classic like Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” and T Swift’s “Fearless.”

The second thing that you notice is the staff. Quick and kind, they elevated the entire experience.

The menu is pretty packed and there’s lots of images which was a bit overwhelming at first, but I was able to make sense of it after a short time. The staff recommended two dishes in particular, and I went with one of them; the Hat Yai Fried Chicken. Described as “Southern style, fried chicken, turmeric & herbs, fried shallots potato yellow dipping curry, roti bread and Blue rice.”

I was blown away. For $30 I expected a lot and a lot is what I received. I’ve lived in the south all my life and this may be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Crisp, moist, and delicious with their sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce (which I’m happy to report had more kick than sweet to it.)
The only thing better than the chicken was the curry. It almost made me sad that I didn’t get yellow curry as my main dish, and the roti bread (naan style bread, expertly positioned atop the boneless fried chicken with a knife) was better than any similar style bread I had ever tasted. I ate literally everything on the plate and felt quite full without any discomfort; a sure sign of quality ingredients.

The only real negative I have is that I can’t just try everything on the menu.
If you’re in the area and craving thai food do not skip this place fam. Trust me.

Wow! The prawn curry was so delicious. I even dipped my lettuce into the curry sauce at the end to get it all. Great quality shrimp and fresh, crisp veggies. Paired it off with the French rose on the menu. Perfect combo for a cold, winter night :)

Thai Farmhouse is a place that is always good, no matter whether you’re meeting with friends or having a romantic dinner for two. The ambiance is fun yet classy, and the food is one of the only places in Portland that has flavors reminiscent of food you can actually get in Thailand. It’s also a plus that they know how to do truly spicy food. One of our go to spots!

Ugh. Wanted to love this place.. so many good reviews, yet it fell short. Portland has much better traditional Thai food options for half the price.

We had a table for 6 at 8pm. 2 of our 6 (new moms) were running 15 minutes behind. We let them know and they told us that if they were past 8:30 they would not seat them at our table as the last seating is at 8:30. Ok. They then rushed us to order our food before the other two arrived, but not before taking a debit card for the “deposit” on the brass cups they use for the drinks?!

When our other two arrived (8:15), our server pressured them to order the moment they sat down. 5 minutes later she returns with our other twos drinks and tells us it’s last call.. our food came 5 minutes later, followed promptly by the check. We were out celebrating our girlfriends birthday but there was no opportunity to even ask about desert options.. They charged $4 for white rice that typically comes with a stir fried dish.. and an additional $2 to add chicken to their menu listing. The portions were small but flavor decent. Despite rushed and exceptionally poor service, a 20% gratuity was added to our $350 bill. Owning a business in the service industry, I can understand an off night - but this poor of service will make me never return.

Came here on Sunday afternoon. Menu is vast, it has many meat and vegetarian options for all. I got a green curry with fried tofu. It was easily the best curry I've had in the US and only second to actual Thailand. Highly recommend this to everyone.

The vibes are super fun and the decorations make it a really cool place to hang out. The food was really unique and they have a lot of different food options. I got the salmon wrapped in the banana peel and it was pretty good and the green sauce was very spicy and a great addition. The dessert leaves some to be desired. Staff very friendly.

Y’all the yellow curry here is probably the best curry I’ve had in my life. All of the staff are so kind and helpful. I also got the ginger hot tea, and it was delightful. Enough for the whole meal and after! Cannot wait to come back!
