Snug Thai eatery serves curries & noodle dishes in colorful quarters with Asian decor.

If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines exceptional service with mouthwatering food, check out Sweet Home Thai in Keizer. From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a delicious meal.
The service at Sweet Home Thai is amazing. The owners are husband and wife, very friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring that every guest feels like a valued patron. Whether you need a recommendation for your meal or have dietary restrictions, they are more than willing to go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. It’s this level of service that makes you want to return.
The menu is small, but has a blend of authentic dishes and flavors. Curries, stir-fries, or my personal favorite... the Salad Rolls... they are AMAZING. This husband and wife team take great pride in their dishes.
The interior of the restaurant has warm lighting and an inviting décor and makes both casual dinners and special occasions feel memorable.
Sweet Home Thai is a gem in Keizer that deserves all the praise it receives. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by—your taste buds will thank you!
I’ve had a lot of Thai food, in a lot of different places. This is hands down, the BEST Thai food I’ve ever had. The spring rolls were huge and full of fresh herbs. Bonus points, the peanut sauce it comes with was warm. The drunken noodles have a flavor profile unlike any other and the tomatoes are little flavor bombs in each bite. The service was quick and very kind. Will be coming again!
Just had the drunken noodles and egg rolls. This place has high reviews and they deserve every single one of those high reviews. The interior is beautiful, the service was spectacular and the food was out of this world. It’s delicious and there’s A LOT of it. I highly recommend if you like Thai food, that this is the place to get it. I came here on a whim and I’m so glad I did. I will be back. What a place! Sweet Home Thai for the win!!!
Hands down the best Thai food in Salem. The couple who runs this restaurant put their heart and soul in bringing a piece of their beloved cuisine to unsuspecting customers. Don’t be fooled by the looks from the street because the atmosphere inside is an oasis.
Attentive service from the hostess who asks for dietary restrictions as you order, and checks on you a handful of times to make sure you’re all set. All with a big smile :)
As others have pointed out, favorite dishes are salad rolls with an amazing peanut sauce, pad Thai, drunken noodles, yellow curry, and ginger delight. Delicious and huge portions.
This was the absolute best Thai food (I’ve had so far in my 12 years here) in Oregon. We can’t wait to come back and try all the other dishes asap, and will not go anywhere else for Thai in Salem forevermore.
The salad rolls were enormous and so fresh and delicious. We tried the drunken noodle with beef, and yellow curry with chicken to share, and the flavors and portions were enormous there as well. Everything is so fresh and lovingly made, even the Thai iced tea stood out as especially rich with a good strong and fresh tea flavor. I savored every sip.
Service was so warm and welcoming, we felt like beloved regulars immediately. We ate like kings and still had generous leftovers, which we enjoyed all over again reheated as breakfast the next day. Truly cannot wait to come back and go through the entire menu and try it all, one visit at a time. Thanks so much for the incredible meal!
I wanted Thai food for dinner and after googling the reviews pulled me in. They didn't have what I normally order but I got drunk noodles, salad rolls, and a Thai tea. I didn't expect much from the outside of the restaurant which really reminds you to not judge a book by its cover. The inside was so different and beautiful.
The staff was a lovely women who had the best customer service skills I've encountered in Salem ever. She was polite, friendly, made the right jokes, and gave really sweet compliments without being overbearing. It was really a pleasure speaking to her.
She let me know the take out would be a hour and I came back in a hour. The total was 45 with tip. The flavor is solid and the portions are giant.
I'll go back to try other items on the menu.

I was in Salem for a work trip, and after struggling to find good restaurants in the area (some were outright disappointing), we decided to give this Thai place a shot—and wow, it exceeded all expectations.
The food was absolutely incredible! The egg rolls were hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy, flavorful, and just amazing. All of my coworkers and I were blown away by how good everything was. It was ten times better than we could have imagined, especially given how hesitant we were after our earlier experiences in town.
This place has officially restored my faith in finding delicious food in Salem. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine. I will definitely come back next time I’m in the area!
This by far is the best Thai restaurant that I’ve ever been to. The service is absolutely impeccable and those who serve serve nothing but great food with true joy. I love this place! I’d be happy to provide a picture, but I’ve eaten it all. Not to worry I’m coming back soon for more..
The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was super friendly and outstanding! I absolutely recommend coming here and enjoying your next meal here

The couple who own this shop are super sweet. If they aren’t busy, they’ll make time to chat.
The food is always amazing. My husband’s favorite is the Pad Thai and mine is either the Hawaiian Fried Rice or the Madsaman Curry. We both love the salad rolls.

Heard about this place from a local, service was amazing, food was so good and hand plenty of left overs…. Can’t wait to come back
Made plans to meet family here for dinner, all driving more than an hour from different directions, but we were refused service because we were a party of 5, even though the restaurant had just opened and it was empty. The whole interaction with their staff about this limited seating was bizarre, was communicated to us poorly, and frankly felt pretty rude. She suggested I call my daughter who was on her way from Portland and tell her to turn around and say that she couldn’t join us for dinner, or we could order food and go eat at home, but we couldn’t eat there. I’m glad we didn’t give them our money and we will never come here again. Terrible interaction and terrible customer service.
This is truly the sweetest, tastiest little place. I love the pared down, simple menu. We tried the Tom kha soup, pad Thai, and drunken noodle, and they were so delicious. Our server was delightful and kind, and the interior was stylish and cozy. So much more than what you might think driving by on a busy street. Go get some food!
So good, just try it

FYI closing time isn’t accurate on these websites. They were closed before 8pm on a Thursday
don't let the shoddy exterior fool you. inside, the vibes are great, the service is friendly, and the food is fantastic. the pad Thai and basil fried rice are outstanding.
Best Thai in Salem !!!!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I don’t do reviews but this place was soooo good. Amazing customer service too and the vibe was beautiful. Absolutely recommend
This is 100% the best thai restaurant in Keizer, and probably the whole area. They go the extra mile for every takeout order, for example, they cut pieces out of a cardboard takeout box of fried spring rolls to make sure they stay crunchy and unsteamed.
The atmosphere inside feels like the inside of thai home, it's cozy and authentic, just like the real deal.
Fantastic spot. We had the restaurant to ourselves at 6pm on a week night. The interior was beautiful and clean. Our server was so friendly and helpful in selecting a dish to accommodate my friend’s nut allergy. The food was phenomenal with plenty for leftovers. Hands down, best dining experience I’ve had in a long time.
I am definitely coming back and recommending this place. The building is clean, servers friendly, and the curry was awesome. Biggest spring rolls I’ve ever had too. The yellow curry was perfect for being a mild dish with a slight background spice.
6 stars if I could! Delicious food, massive portions, reasonably priced, sweet staff, lovely atmosphere. We will be back!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BEST THAI FOOD AROUND!
Very disappointed. My husband and I ordered Dinner to go tonight from Sweet Home Thai Cuisine in Keizer. The portions were so small we were both still hungry after we finished eating. I’m not a big eater and I weigh 115 lbs so it’s not like I eat more than the average person.
Not only were the portions smaller than usual, they raised their prices from the last time we were there about 6 weeks ago. We rarely eat here b/c the food isn’t great but it isn’t terrible either.
I called Sweet Home Thai after we got home and the hostesses told me we received their “new standard size dinner portions.” Unbelievable. They raised their prices AND decreased their portion sizes? Not a smart business decision with mediocre food.
We won’t be going back and won’t recommend this place to anyone else.
Just had the drunken noodles and egg rolls. This place has high reviews and they deserve every single one of those high reviews. I highly recommend if you like Thai food, that this is the place to get it. I came here on a whim and I’m so glad I did. I will be back. What a place! Sweet Home Thai for the win!!!
I wish I had been able to try their food. I had heard great things and seen great reviews. We tried to go for my birthday dinner as a family of 8, and we were turned away. There was no one else in the restaurant as they had just opened. We were told that they could not accommodate parties more than 4 people due to only having one chef. Again, I really wish I could’ve tried the food. Unfortunately I probably never will due to the sour taste in my mouth after this encounter.
Best pad Thai! Come here, it was amazing!
I’ve had a lot of Thai food, in a lot of different places. This is hands down, the BEST Thai food I’ve ever had. The spring rolls were huge and full of fresh herbs. The kindness, atmosphere, and flavors of this home can be found nowhere else. The portions are nice and big, perfect for sharing or taking home. As a Salem local, I’ve been here many times, and tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
Hands down the best Thai food in Salem. The couple who runs this restaurant put their heart and soul in bringing a piece of their beloved cuisine to unsuspecting customers. Don’t be fooled by the looks from the street because the atmosphere inside is an oasis.

As others have pointed out, favorite dishes are salad rolls with an amazing peanut sauce, pad Thai, drunken noodles, yellow curry, and ginger delight. Delicious and huge portions.
This place is weird but in the best way. The outside looks awful but don't let that fool you. When you enter the building it's like entering a different universe. The menu is small but it's for a good reason, they make everything extremely well.
I had the drunken noodles and they made it vegan for me. They warned me that I would be missing out because their dishes all have fish sauce in them. The Drunken Noodles were still extremely delicious without their regular sauce. All the veggies were delicious and the tofu was perfect.
The prices are justified by the very generous portion size. I can't overstate how insanely huge the salad rolls are. Seriously, they're massive.
The staff were all wonderful in the best kind of way. I'll definitely be stopping back by when I'm in salem.
Don't let the outside of the building fool you! This is hands-down the best Thai food we have had in the Salem area, and we've tried a LOT. Super cute interior, amazing service, and great food. Everything we have tried has been excellent. The prices are high-ish, but you really get value for what you pay. The portions are huge, fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. My husband, son, and I got two entrees, ate until we were past full, and still had more than enough leftovers for lunch the next day. This is our new go-to place!
This place is AMAZING! Don't let the exterior fool you- the inside is absolutely gorgeous. The food here is the best Thai food I've ever had, and the portions are very large for the cost. I ordered the chow mein with tofu and even after eating to being full enough to burst, I have enough leftovers to eat for all 3 meals tomorrow. The egg rolls are HUGE and they have lots of filling. They're also super crispy and they come with a wonderfully sweet sauce. The curry is the best my boyfriend and I have ever had in our lives, and we've had lots of curries. The Thai tea is strongly brewed and the sweetness of the milk goes beautifully with the bitterness of the black tea. The food is presented beautifully with edible flowers and looks like something out of a magazine. It's almost too pretty to eat.
Aside from the food, the service is absolutely amazing. Our server was super friendly and very good at checking in on us without interrupting our meal or conversation. She is one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. She was also very good at describing the flavors and ingredients of the meals. When I ordered tofu for my entree, she asked if I was vegan or vegetarian so that she could make my dish to my liking.
Overall, this restaurant is one of the best if not THE best I have ever been to. Every 5 star review this restaurant gets is well deserved. If you decide to eat here, get ready to have one of the best experiences of your life.
Fantastic food, friendly service, wonderful ambience. The outside is not the impressive part, the inside and the food are exceptional!
An awesome find. Craving Thai on our way from Eugene to Portland and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The outside appearance had us skeptical but once we walked in, everything changed for the better. I had the Massaman curry with chicken and my husband had chicken pad thai. They were served beautifully and huge portions. Super flavorful. Waitress was very outgoing and attentive. Chef’s kiss.
I don't get why so many Thai restaurants won't open until 4:00 or 4:30. I think they lose a lot of business as I'm always looking for a Thai restaurant around 11:00 a.m. to noon and half of them are always closed.
Fantastic good and great service! Best thai food in Salem!
This was the absolute best Thai food (I’ve had so far in my 12 years here) in Oregon. We can’t wait to come back and try all the other dishes asap, and will not go anywhere else for Thai in Salem forevermore.

Truly cannot wait to come back and go through the entire menu and try it all, one visit at a time. Thanks so much for the incredible meal!
Great Thai food and great service. The dishes were huge, I think if two couples ordered two dishes and shared, they would have a fantastic meal.
Great experience for the whole family. Wonderful food, warm inviting atmosphere, great service, huge portions, you name it. My 5 year old keeps asking when we're going back 😊
I wanted Thai food for dinner and after googling the reviews pulled me in. They didn't have what I normally order but I got drunk noodles, salad rolls, and a Thai tea. Just pick your favorite people to come with cause they only sit 4 but place is very nice and clean and food is delicious!!
Rejected from the moment we walked in the door because they don't serve parties grater than 4. Our party was only 5. Not that I'd wanna eat in there anyway it smelt dirty and gross inside.
Drove 20 minutes to check out this place. Outside is really ran down. Walked in and it was spacious. We got turned down because we had a party of 5. They don't accommodate more than 4 people. Odd.
I have only good things to say about this experience. Very good service. Upbeat, friendly. The food arrived quickly and was fresh and hot. Portions are generous. Two dishes was enough for dinner for two plus leftovers equaling another meal. The place was very clean. It's not much to look at from outside; just an old house but don't be put off by that. We will definitely eat here again.
We were in Salem for an event and decided to stop by Sweet Home Thai for dinner. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was amazing, the server/ hostess was exceptional, and the atmosphere was so nice. I highly recommend! (We had salad rolls, pad Thai, yellow curry, and Thai iced tea)
Really fantastic food and service! They are so kind and it was worth the price. I ordered just one pad Thai and the egg rolls for two people and it was still more than enough food for us both. the outside is so cute it looks like a house but when you go in it’s so beautiful and well decorated!
Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are the best here in this snoozeville of a town. It came with fresh bean sprouts and lime. The portions were for adults, not for infants. I would recommend them over any other place. Just be careful, the prices on their website are a lot lower than what you actually paid. Prices can change with notice.
The food is great, but the hours and days are very unpredictable. They rarely answer their phones for orders. I have tried several times and while it says it’s open, there is no phone answer!
Amazing food and huge portion sizes.
My husband and I have been coming here for years!!!! The staff is amazing and so kind. On top of that, the food is amazing. All of the dishes are great, but my husband always gets the yellow curry with chicken. He is convinced that no one does it better!
This is still my favorite place, even after all this time.
Always a great choice! The waitress is super friendly and the food is always fresh. Worth spending a little extra for the quality.
Absolutely all around amazing food. If you haven't tried it and you love Thai food. This is a restaurant you must try.
Me and my boyfriend were obsessed with the pad Thai. It’s a beautiful restaurant. All I’m going to say is do not judge a book by its cover. That about sums up the outside of the building as the inside was both wonderful service and full of color
Best green curry I’ve had in years — rich, flavorful. Tom Ghai coconut milk soup was loaded with flavor. Both dishes were beautifully presented. Sweet Home offers a reason to go for Thai food in Salem, and leaves the other places in the dust. The server is delightful, although she’s working the front alone, and from the pace of service there’s probably only one person in the kitchen. Sweet Home is located in a run-down property fronting River Road that in the past has housed other Thai food. But the exterior belies the interior, which is spiffed-up and clean. Let’s hope they continue to thrive, expand the basic menu, and make the improvements to compete with the best dining establishments in Salem-Keizer.
Such a warm and welcoming place with unexpectedly nice ambiance. The food was amazing, and portions were huge.
Great food, friendly service
This place has decent food. Dont you dare ask for extra sauce though! I got some dry orders a couple times so I asked if they could add a little more sauce on my next order and the cook told me that if I dont like the way he cooks his food, that I should probably go somewhere else. Refused to work with me on any sort of comprimise. To add some extra creep on top, he saved my number so that next time I called in he berrated me on whether I was going to enjoy his food or not and then pushed me to go somewhere else. Totally Creepy!
Always such delicious food and outstanding service. This is hands down my favorite Thai place in town.
One of our favorite restaurants!! I’d give it more stars if I could!
Food is overpriced for the quality and the quantity and $ amount is to much for a single person you have to have a bunch to make it worth it. 😔 I used to love this place and I completely understand trying to stay afloat but that means you need to cater to the community and they just don't. If you got a whole bunch of people the food's pretty good and it's reasonable if it's just you and your friend or partner probably not for you. Love this place wish they would change it up a bit.
Fantastic experience
Like everyone says - the exterior (which really just needs a paint job) does not speak to the gem of a restaurant you find inside. The interior decor is just elegant and you will be comfortable sitting in a plush white banquet surrounded by elegant artwork and peaceful music. The service is spectacular, but the food is divine!!!!
This has to be the best Thai restaurant in all of Oregon. They do a brisk take-out business but we were there with family to eat in. We ordered the beef drunken noodles (I would go back just for this! But with Tofu); the green curry with chicken (clearly a home made green curry); pad Thai with chicken; and pineapple fried rice. Every bite was delicious, even the fried egg rolls we had for appetizers were something special.
If we lived closer this would be on my weekly craving list, but I definitely will be back, even if just for take out because the food was just as good the next day.
Love this place! I've been dining and returning for years.
Don’t let the exterior fool you, the food and service are excellent and reasonably priced for the portion size you receive. We ordered the deep fried egg rolls and salad rolls (peanut sauce was amazing!) for appetizers. Entrées included Yellow Curry, Chicken Pad Thai and Hawaiian Fried Rice, they were all delectable. The service we received from the hostess/server was top-notch. Extremely accommodating and super friendly.
Ignore the outside appearance….Inside you’ll find the most amazing thai food, service, ambiance and over all experience. Wish i could give it more stars - it was just phenomenal. The Vegetable stir fry and hot tea were so incredibly good
Owner is a lovely lady who always comes around our table to ask how everything is. She even asked my vegan partner what kinds of new dishes she could make that would fit the bill. We've been here three times so far and loved every moment!
When I first arrived, I thought Google Maps led me awry, because it looks like someone's home, which is how I felt stepping in; it was welcoming!
The server was lovely and the food was delicious! I highly recommend opting for the sticky rice if that is an option.
100% would return 💖
This place is such a good find. We were in town for the half Ironman in Salem and wanted Thai for our carb loading meals leading up to race day. At first we thought it was closed because we missed the sign out front and the building itself is very unassuming. So glad we turned around!
The food is delicious! I had drunken noodles and my husband got the vegetable stir fry with chicken. Our friends got soup. All were scrumptious. They had good sized servings and we all had doggie bags afterward. Our server was Gift and she is so nice and a great hostess!
Amazing food
Small Thai place in Keizer. Seems to be largely used for take-out, but we stopped to dine-in, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is a little sweet, even for Thai, but the servings are impressive, and the service was very fast and friendly. The salad rolls were especially good! I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area.
I must return one day. Drunken noodles were great and perfectly spiced.
This is the best Thai food we’ve ever had! The service was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend!
The outside needs some paint but inside is lovely. We were greeted warmly at the entrance and service was attentive and nice.
The dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. This is top Thai food
Great food and nice waitress.
Simply delicious! Definitely worth a stop. Get the fresh rolls w/ peanut sauce.
Excellent taste and quality.
Beautiful interior remodel that’s clean and new.
Super friendly.
Place looks bad from the outside, but is amazing inside, and was the best green curry and Tom kha we've ever had!
Visited Salem and decided to look for a Thai resto. This place came out with an excellent review which turned out to be true! Indeed, “Do not judge a book by its cover”, this place is quite, cozy and foods are excellent! I was hesitant to get inside because it didn’t look it’s open so I have to call to confirm 😊
Food is too sweet not sure what is in it but it left an aftertaste for hours, the lady in there is very very ncie
I wasn't sure what to expect walking up. But as soon as the door opened, instantly I knew this was going to be great. Before my eyes could fully take in the restaurant, I was greeted by a young lady welcoming us in. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is beautiful. We sat in a cute booth. Water was brought to the table in a cozy wooden box. The menu is small but has a variety of options. We ordered their egg roll appetizer, drunken noodles, and spicy basil fried rice. The food came out fast, and the service continued to impress. The egg rolls were served with their homemade sweet and sour sauce, it was excellent the food is served on beautifully blue and white dishes. The mains were delicious. Before the end of our meal we had already decided that we would be back and what we else we we're going to try next time. The service and food were excellent. I can't wait to go again.
Best that place in all of oregon. I have been to like 30 places from Eugene to Portland and this one is top tier. Outside looks ran down but inside is nice and clean. you MUST try
Definitely beat thai food in salem keizer as someone who has traveled to thailand this is the most accurate in deliciousness and authenticity
I cannot express how phenomenal of an experience this place was. The food was fantastic and the waitress was just such a sweet soul with a great sense of humor. Thank you for making my mom’s Mother’s Day such a great evening!! 💕🥰
First off, customer service is great!! Our waitress is super sweet and funny. The food is delicious and great quality. We ordered the Shrimp Tom Yum, Chicken Red Curry, and Tofu Drunken noodles. Overall, this place is really good and a hidden gem :).
Large portions, flavorful but a bit too sweet. Good tofu options and other meats. Presentation is beautiful. Staff is very friendly. Curry was good and filled with veggies, just wasn't as spicy as I wanted and was sweet. The fresh spring rolls are great and filled with fresh and crispy vegetables. Tea was delicious. You will have left overs as the portions are large.
Great place worth the wait. Don’t be surprised if you have to wait there is a waiter and her husband, that’s it! Much better than it looks from the outside. Excellent authentic foods!
Best Thai food ever.
By far the best Thai food I've ever had. This is my go to place when family from out of town visits. I cannot recommend this place enough!
READ- Hands down the friendliest people you will ever meet. 10/10 stars for their food. I can’t explain truly how kind these people are… they are very accommodating to vegetarians and explain exactly what you are getting when you order. A MUST TRY PLACE
Very very good food and service, the best Thai food around
The best !
I stumbled upon this restaurant while reading online about Salem’s best Thai restaurants. It was rated the best in town and after reading the reviews I was excited to visit Sweet Home Thai. So much so, that I instigated that my boyfriend and I ate there tonight. Just now.
I was struck as soon as I got through the door and continued to be struck with more throughout the evening. The service, food, and atmosphere is incredibly thoughtful and lots of care goes into making the experience. It was also the best Pad Thai and Curry I’ve had.
I am pretty sure they make their own wide rice noodle. Best Thai food in oregon. Little pricy but completely worth it given portions and quality.
Delicious Thai food on the sweet side! Worth the price!
Food is a little more expensive than other similar restaurants, but WELL worth it - the ingredients were fresh and the taste was phenomenal. The service was outstanding!
Best thai food in Oregon!!! Amazing food and even better service!
Ok. From the outside? Not a great curb appeal. Reviews were amazing, so we went. Inside? Beautifully decorated. Maybe 6-7 tables, strategically scattered to give you privacy. Everything was spotless-from bathrooms to restaurant. Nothing looked or was cheap. Real glasses and plates with weight. Excellent food with superb plating. Some of the finest drunken noodle, veg stir-fry, and Pad Thai. We also really enjoyed the salad rolls. There are no meats or noodles in these large rolls which were exquisitely presented amid carrot and cabbage shreds. The only negative I could see was an obvious one: limited menu. One page with many standard favorites headlining. It was an excellent meal. Efficient, helpful, and very genuinely polite staff. A new regular place for us-six days and evenings only. Truly a welcome find!
It was our first time. My boyfriend was skeptical (he's a picky eater). Menu options are a bit small but they're portions and flavor makes up for it. My boyfriend grubbed down on the Massumun Curry and Ginger stir fry. And the service... Our waitress was awesome and funny (wish I got her name). We will be returning to try out her recommendations 🙂
Don’t be fooled by the external appearance of this building. When I first pulled in to the parking lot, I was very skeptical. But once I entered through the main door, things looked pretty good. The restaurant is furnished and maintained well on the inside it seems like
The waitress was kind enough to customize the dish to our needs. The serving size was also large enough and we thoroughly enjoyed our dish
First time I’ve tried this place: 5 star!
Called to place an order to go (pad thai & side of egg rolls), it was right on time and hot and fresh. DELICIOUS! I’ve never had egg rolls wrapped with a slightly sweet taste, it was unique and enjoyable! Would recommend and will dine here again.
Maybe the best Thai food I’ve ever had but without a doubt the best service I’ve ever had
Amazing food and amazing service
Thai food is one of my favorite foods. I've grown up eating it in Southern California, and I've tried many different Thai food restaurants across the US. This has to be in my top 3. And the best service at a Thai food restaurant is between this place and Thai Home in Sandy, Oregon (also in my top 3 Thai restaurants).
My fiancee, who is also from California and is in Salem for school, had been craving something that reminded her of home, i.e. Thai food, and this looked to be the top rated place in the area. It definitely lived up to the rating.
From the warm service to the delicious food, everything was amazing. Our waitress was attentive and informative even when we didn't request it. The pad Thai chicken was slightly sweet and tangy and lightly chewy. It's one of the best I've ever had. The spicy basil fried rice with chicken was incredible. It was genuinely spicy (like... think 6-7 out of 10 SoCal spicy). It was basily, garlicky, and, overall, umami. I would eat this all on its own. I don't even like bell peppers, but the flavor had me eating them. ***Do not skip out on putting the lime all over the dishes. It's there for a reason: it truly elevates the dishes.***
10/10 would recommend!
Best Thai in Salem/Keizer! They have a ginger chicken rice soup that I can't get enough of and their Pad Thai is also delicious.
Really good, just no vegetarian curry. Other vegan options
I used to go to this location before it became Sweet Home Thai. I’ve been on a hunt to find the best Thai food in the Salem area. That said, we were extremely unimpressed last night. We ordered a 1/2 order of Tom Ka, Yellow Curry w/chicken and an order of Hawaiian Fried Rice w/shrimp for $60! So, the Tom Ka was only edible after straining the huge chunks of uncooked onion & gangland. There was no love to the broth. It was a watery milky color without flavor. Certainly couldn’t taste the coconut milk! The curry had a yummy flavor but the potatoes & carrots were gigantic. You would think they could cut them to bite sizes in order to avoid a customer needing a fork & knife. My husband also asked them to add broccoli (he said he would pay for it). The woman taking his order said “No, can’t add broccoli, it will turn the curry green”. Ummmm. Ok. The Hawaiian rice was good but only 2 prawns? Where’s the value?
We were very disappointed and tried calling last night and today to talk to someone about it but no one answers. (Yes, they open at 4:30, assumed someone may be there early today). Anyway…extremely overpriced and just not happy at all.
Great food and service will be coming back to try more things
Amazing place, everyone does takeout but you should eat in! They are so nice and the food is amazing
This is easily the best Thai cuisine in Salem. Don't let the outside fool you the inside is very spacious with decorative seating. The waitress has the absolute best service I have seen in Marion County.
Some of my favorite Thai food. The food is always amazing, service is friendly - they recognize me and know me by name here. I love their curries and the cashew chicken stir fry.
No words can explain the most amazing experience i just had . Most beautiful place to come to , amazing sever with the greatest attitude, best Thai I’ve tasted!! Definitely recommend coming here !!!
Excellent food with large portions and next level surface with over the top accomodations for gluten free options
Best Thai food in the area! Super nice and accommodating, and made multiple adjustments for our gluten free friend!
Great food restaurant very quaint service was wonderful and food amazing 👏
Great service. Delicious good.
This is the best Thai restaurant I have found in Oregon, with the best Tom Kha soup I've ever had. The outside of the building is nasty. But the inside more than makes up for it. The red pepper curry is wonderful with extremely fine rice. The Pad Thai tastes great, and don't forget the Thai iced Tea. Our server was helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Best Thai food I ever had
What a great surprise!!! Food was beyond expectations and very fresh. Service was excellent. The atmosphere inside was amazing. Their sweet and sour sauce with the egg rolls is to die for!!
This place has excellent food and really thoughtful employees. You can tell that there is a huge amount of thought/care put into the whole experience.
Simply the best Thai food around, with friendly service to match. THE hidden jewel of a Salem/Keizer restaurants.
The absolute best Thai Restaurant in Oregon! Hands down!! Portland doesn’t even offer this style of personal service. As a husband and wife team they’re amazing. Quality is the same every time, and yes that means we’re eating here frequently!! Love it no matter how far I have to travel
We live within a mile, and let me tell you when I say it's the ONLY Thai for us, I mean it! Try everything on the menu! It's all amazing, and the Chef and Host have really made this place into something special! You will be transported to another land when you step in the door. I have made it my personal goal to try everything on the menu, and I have never been disappointed!
Sooooooo delicious with a private atmosphere
Food was excellent
We love Gift and her food. It never disappoints!
Fantastic service and delicious food. Attention to detail and presentation.
I know the building doesn't look like much on the outside, but give it a chance and try the amazing food. Inside looks remodeled and nice.
What happened to the chef? Was this place bought out? Vegetarian rolls were good. But the Tom ka for the price was pathetic. Really?
My husband and I hadn't been here for years as when we occasionally drove by in the day, the lack of maintenance to the porch and roof led us to surmise that the building was vacant. Also the wood colored blinds that are always pulled down over the front windows looked like boarded up windows to us. We saw online that they were indeed open, and found the food very good and the service exceptional. Some people who are very visual however might find the unsightly exterior distasteful, and I suspect it discourages some customers. Inside there are no windows, and the interior has been beautifully decorated.
My wife and I had dinner here for our first time today. This place was amazing. We chose four different dishes to try and they were all above and beyond our expectations. We have lots left over for tomorrow too! The service was top-notch. Our server appeared to be serving AND cooking, but don't quote me on that. At the end of our meal she asked us what we liked best, and judging by our response she recommended what we she thought we may like on our next visit. She started breaking down different plates and ingredients to explain her recommendations. She was very knowledgable, polite, and a joy to be around. We can't wait to go back.
Loved it! Food and service are great. We got Yellow curry and Hawaiian fried rice. Both fantastic. Definitely coming back soon!
It didn't look like a restaurant. It was not appearing well taken care of on the outside, but inside it was amazing! The food was the best Thai food ever! The presentation of the food was beautiful as well! An amazing find.
Almost past by thinking they were closed so glad we tried it was so good and quietly relaxing. Delicious hot food!
This place has the best Thai food I've ever had!!! We ordered 8 different meals and every single one was absolutely amazing! Try it out, you will not regret it!
Ate too fast to take photos because food is absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely killer service from the solo server and delicious food from the kitchen. I live very far away, and I will be back.
Super good food, couldn't ask for nicer people there!!
I love Thai food in general but this place goes above and beyond. The pad thai is delicious of course and we got a curry dish that I can't remember the name but it was so good! I have never been a curry fan but I think I'm addicted! Thank you Sweet Home!
Takeout only, but don't miss this place! The owner is a hoot! Don't ask for any substitutions or customization to your meal. You get it her way, and her way was delicious! Exceptionally clean, very hot, carefully prepared and fresh food. I love that she squirted hand sanitizer into our hands for us after we looked at the menu. One person in our party has severe allergies to shellfish and she told the kitchen so they could burn off the grill, clean and prep to be safe. We all loved the food and the service.
What a wonderful personalized experience. Every one of my kids thought it was the best they ever had. We will definitely be back. Great service!
This place is amazing!!! Service was superb, presentation was beautiful, and food was deliscious!!! Huge portions!! Ordered Pad Thai with shrimp and Massaman Curry with chicken easily could have fed 4-5 people!!! Restaurant is very cozy inside with great ambiance!!!!
Such a private and fancy thai food experience! Our food was amazing looking and the best thai I have had in years. The owners are so dedicated to providing a special experience for customers. We will be back %100.
If you're looking for a place with delicious Thai food. This is THE place to go.Do not be deceived by the appearance. It might look a bit rundown or outdated but once you open the door inside. It's a whole new level. The pictures and music brings in so much culture, its beautiful. The best Tom yum and yellow curry. You will not be disappointed. Our server is so funny and friendly. We love the whole vibe this place gives. We found a gem and Will definitely be coming here often.
The food here is amazing and the portions are bigger than expected every time. Definitely my go to Thai place!
The Pad Kee Mao here is honestly some of the best I have ever had! The flavor is incredible! You would never know the food is so good based on the outside of the building. Don't let that fool you. Give them a try!
This is honest to god some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Certainly better than any other I’ve had in Salem. On top of that they take COVID seriously unlike many other businesses, relying on their reputation to bring in customers despite no inside seating, and it works. Truly the best place for Thai food in Salem, perhaps the Willamette Valley. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.
