The aroma of the dishes that arrived at our table was simply enchanting! Each bite of the crab and cheese rolls burst with flavor, transporting us to food paradise. We paired our meal with a refreshing Thai iced tea that was equally delightful! Overall, our dinner was a thrilling experience. Although the service had its moments, it didn't overshadow the fantastic meal we enjoyed. What a night!
Edit: I’m going to make an edit because I think I should write a little more to say how great they are. For me as I am also in the service industry, they did everything right and more. Good service is an expectation, but these employees are fantastic and above and beyond. The food of course is great and just wish I lived closer to this place :) thanks again!!!
The food the service and everything was awesome about this place l 🥳 my friend that is new to Thai food and he loved it!
I had the chicken pad Thai which was very delicious, and was presented very nicely. The serving looked small but was quite filling. My vegetarian friend had a dish with vegetables and tofu and noted that the tofu was very squishy. The Thai milk tea was very good, and I enjoyed the coconut milk addition. 4 stars on service due to having to wait a bit of time to have menus given to us. Our server was very proper and kind, however he forgot to deliver a drink ordered by just one member of my party, it happens. Atmosphere was nice, seating was a bit cramped. All together good quality freshly prepared food for meat-eaters, vegetarians and spice-sensitive folks may want to look for another location.
We were searching for an authentic Thai food place. Taste of Bangkok is definitely one. We tried Goong Graub, Egg rolls, Chow Mein, and the other Shrimp starter (don’t remember the exact name). Food was really delicious and authentic Thai. Very welcoming staff and Service was excellent, and got to know that this is a family owned restaurant and the recipes are their grandma’s. Ambience is great.
Just one suggestion- please see if you could improve the portions size of main course.
We will definitely visit one more time. Thanks.
If you're on the hunt for an authentic Thai dining experience, look no further than Taste of Bangkok. As a loyal patron for years, I can confidently say this gem has consistently delivered exceptional food and warm, welcoming service that keeps me coming back.
From the moment you step through the doors, you’re greeted by the fragrant aromas of fresh herbs and spices that instantly transport you to Thailand.
Now, let’s talk about the food! The menu at Taste of Bangkok is a delightful journey through Thailand’s culinary landscape. My personal favorite is the Pad Thai, which is perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweetness and tang. Each dish is beautifully presented, showcasing the chefs’ attention to detail and commitment to quality.
What truly sets Taste of Bangkok apart, however, is the exceptional customer service. The staff is always friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of perfect. Whether it’s recommending a dish or remembering your favorite order, they create a sense of community that makes you feel like family.
I’ve visited many Thai restaurants over the years, but none have matched the consistent excellence of Taste of Bangkok. It’s a place where great food and outstanding service come together seamlessly. If you haven’t yet experienced it, do yourself a favor and pay a visit—you won’t be disappointed!

Ordered through DoorDash (food was hot and nothing wrong with DoorDash). Absolutely the worst Thai/Asian food I’ve ever had. Very disappointed. Tofu was mush, rice was not at all fresh and the egg rolls were not even more than a dime in diameter. I almost never leave reviews but I was shocked because of the positive reviews.
We enjoyed a very delicious dinner here with our Son who lives in HappyValley. Drove all the way from Vancouver, WA and it was SO worth it!! Definitely we will be back!! 😋

Best Pad Thai I’ve had in Oregon and the staff is super friendly!
Excellent service. Excellent food. We took the recommendation of our server and tried some traditional dishes we hadn't tried before. So flavorful, fresh and healthy.
Never been inside but damn they're food is off the charts delicious.
This is the best thai restaurant I have ever been to in the U.S. My husband and I spent three weeks in Thailand exploring the cuisine and this food is exactly the same. Super authentic, consistent quality every time, and flavors that will not soon be forgotten. The chef worked in a 5 star restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand.
The service is always 10/10, very polite, friendly, and professional. The atmosphere itself has been given a lot of love and you can tell that someone really cares about the quality of this place.
I recommend this restaurant whole heartedly and without hesitation. You will not be disappointed. From the classic dishes we know to dishes you may have never tried before, everything is delicious.
I always enjoy going to this restaurant!
I recommend this place to new client today and also friends!
The staff is always friendly and accommodating, also the food is amazing!!
We’ve been going to this place for the past five years we’ve lived in happy Valley. Every time we come in, we’re greeted with a warm welcome. The food is fantastic as is the service we get. My wife’s family owns a Thai restaurant as well, and this place definitely gets the nod of approval.
My boyfriend came for lunch and had their pad see ew and drunken noodles. They have a great lunch deal which includes an entree and appetizer for $12.50. Total steal!
The staff at Taste of Bangkok are always so friendly when we come in and they're some of my favorite Thai cuisine in the Portland area! Definitely recommend! They have such a wholesome vibe. 😊🙌🏽
Great food, service, and a very nice place.
Delicious food! I come here every time I’m craving thai
One of my favorite Thai places around! The service is always amazing, as is the food. I used to only go to a place out in Sandy, but now I have a spot that's just as good and much closer to my house!
I always like their food and they are very good with modified orders - like for allergies.
Get the Bangkok Wings (non spicy)!!!! SO GOOD. Service was amazing and food came fast! It is more authentic than other places I tried. Get the Khao Soi and Three Flavor Fish! !

Absolute best orange chicken I've ever had. Whenever my wife and I are craving Thai food, this is our go to spot. I've yet to have food that was excellent which is why I've ordered it numerous times now. Highly recommend to those around the area to stop by or order take out.

Best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to!!
I’ve been to many different ones and this one is by far my favorite!
Their food is super delicious and is a perfect combination of flavors!
The restaurant is also very pretty and beautifully decorated and they’re super nice here!!
You are in for a such a treat at Taste of Bangkok in Happy Valley!!!
It is so beautiful inside and family owned by the sweetest family
They have the most incredible and delicious meals
Every single dish is wonderful!!!
We love to start with the fresh rolls they have this sauce that you can’t get enough of and to drink we absolutely love their Coconut milk Thai tea it is such a special treat and the best we have ever had!!!
Make sure to ask about their delicious cookies as well…
We love to take them home to enjoy!!!
wonderful service and a delectable menu!
This is the best Thai restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is top notch and they even have outdoor seating. Fast and friendly the employees always know what our order is before we say it, substitutions and all. Great for friends family or a date night we always choose Taste of Bangkok in Happy Valley.
Has my most favorite, hard to find, Thai dishes. Khao soi! Delish!
Amazing food and atmosphere! The service is always excellent. Definitely recommend! 😁
Very tasty food. Not a huge selection but they have the best Thai food in Portland metro area from my experience. Love their cashew dish and economical lunch menu
My favorite Thai food in the area! I come at least a couple times a month! The food and service are both great! Highly recommend checking this place out!
Best Thai food in the Portland area, fantastic service, and very nicely decorated. We come back here at least a few times a month!
This is our absolute favorite place in Happy Valley. We have always done take out and love the food and there was s enough veriety that everyone (even the 2 year old) finds something they want. Today we ate there and the service created a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
A while ago after jyst moving to Happy Valley, we called in an order. A minor item was left out of our to-go order, and when contacted, they remedied it immediately with incredible customer service I have not seen in years.
The order was delicious.
Today, we came in and enjoyed a cocktail while waiting for our take-out, and the restaraunt was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff were amazing. Again, the food was exceptional.
I was extremely impressed with the beautiful menu and myriad selections.
Our favorite place here in Happy Valley.
This is my first time here. And OMG it is the best Thai food in Oregon. My favourite food is red curry with extra bamboo shoot. Their Khao soi chicken taste exactly like in Thailand. The atmosphere is like having dinner at home. It is the family-owned business and the recipe is from their grand mother, which is really sweet. I'll be back!
Awesome thai place. Little pricey but you get what you paid for and this place hits the mark with their chicken pad thai.
Great food and the ice tea is on a different level, definitely recommend
Best salad rolls I’ve ever had !!!!!!!!!!! Made fresh & with the yummiest sauce
This is our go to place for Thai food in Happy Valley. Our favorites are shrimp salad rolls, pad Thai, and gluten-free basil chicken.
Delightful Thai restaurant. The service is friendly and wonderful. Great choice of meals and appetizers, and everything is delicious. Inside and outside dining is available.
We were searching for an authentic Thai food place. Taste of Bangkok is definitely one. We tried Goong Graub, Egg rolls, Chow Mein, and the other Shrimp starter (don’t remember the exact name). Food was awesome as usual
A very nice Sunday brunch with lunch specials still available on weekends.
Awesome food!
Very welcoming staff, my favorite Thai food in the area. I usually get the Are Wrap and chicken satay for appetizer, khao moo dang, pad see ew, drunken noodles, fantastic tofu, 3 flavor fish. All absolutely delicious. My son has tried drunken noodles in every Thai restaurant he goes to and this place is his favorite.
The pad see ew with tofu and a side of peanut sauce was a warm delicious treat on a chilly winter evening. Seating and lighting are relaxing, and the friendly service is exceptional.
Food was excellent 👍, service was great 👍 will be back !!!!!
The food was great and it was nice to dine outside.
Excellent and authentic food. Great service.
My family and I absolutely love this restaurant! The chicken pad Thai is always super fresh and has great flavor. Customer service is always amazing! Super friendly staff!
Great Service Great Food. I recommend the Duck Curry Amazing.
Great place for Thai food. I always start with chicken satay appetizer. It tastes great with the peanut sauce. I like the Green Curry with chicken and white rice. Mild + spice. My wife has the Chicken Pad Thai with no peanuts and brown rice. She is GF and DF so this is perfect for her. Top off dinner with sticky rice and mangoes. The atmosphere is nice for dinner with your wife or a meeting with a friend. I have done both.
Best Thai food I’ve had in years! Everything was perfect; Drinks, appetizers and entrees were great!
Have always been curious about this place and we decided to go with my family and wow! Fantastic service, even learned about butterfly pea flower (which the marg is delicious) and also had great fresh food!! We all enjoyed every dish we ordered. We will be back again!!
Ordered. 1st time door dash and I specifically said no tomatoes or mushrooms replace with cabbage and bell pepper and of course Tom Kha soup wasn't full in container, extremely watery terrible no flavor nothing pretty much water plus chicken inside and also Thai Tea not very strong, weak.
Great variety of meals and they all taste great! Very attentive service as well and no wait time.
UPDATE a year later: I'm not sure what happened but, after my inaugural stellar meal (see below), the last few times I've ordered from here it's been subpar at best. Tonight's meal was the worst of them all and mostly inedible with raw vegatables in a poorly constructed curry sauce, another dish that literally had zero flavor, and inconsistently cooked satay (some parts overcooked, others under). 5 stars to 1 just like that. Such a shame.
I've eaten A LOT of Thai food all over the city (and country for that matter) and this is some of the best I've had. Extremely fresh, flavorful, and prepared to perfection.
Great food. Good ambiance and beautiful decor. Prices were excellent.
Was decent Thai food. Not my favorite, but was decent.
Great food nice staff
Food went downhill
The shrimp tasted weird on the shrimp fried rice.
I’m not picky but it was a waste of money
I Should’ve made my own food :/
Great food and atmosphere!
The pad Thai was a bit fishy despite it being vegetarian. The spring rolls were excellent and the on tap beer good
A nice place to eat at. I was amazed on how good the food is.
The best orange chicken around! I love it, and everyone is so attentive and kind here.
Seafood Pad Thai was the worst!!!Seafood smelled fishy and undercooked and all the food was the worst I would never go again
Great food. Always a pleasant experience going there. We have not found anything we haven't liked.
The noodles in the pad kee mao are so soft and beat up that it makes it difficult to eat the noodles. I have had much better pad kee mao from other places.
Great Thai food and great customer service! Can get busy in the evenings, but totally worth it!! Keep it up!
Great place, enjoy eating here.
My husband and my favorite restaurant in the area…beautiful food presentation and dishes that are so delicious. The service is always excellent as well.
I rarely post reviews but this Thai food was absolutely terrible. The Pad Thai we ordered was bitter and the flavor so off we couldn’t even eat it. The crab and cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce were just a thick tube of cream cheese fried like an egg roll with chili sauce (?). The yellow curry was the only thing we ate and it was very average. I was shocked to see how well this place was reviewed. I wanted to call and ask for our money back for the Pad Thai that was just gross but we didn’t. Definitely keep looking for Thai food. This place was a waste of our money.
First time trying. Ordered Pad Kee Mao med spicy to-go. Better than I expected. Flavorful but not too spicy. The chicken and the veggies, like tomatos, bell peppers and basil were quite fresh.
I was a bit late to pick up so the dish has sat for maybe 10-15 minutes before I put it into my mouth. Still, very tasty.
Glad to have a decent Thai restaurant in my neighborhood. Will come back to try out other dishes. Hope the food quality will be consistent!
Update:
Tried the see eww and yellow curry. Did not disappointed. Really like how the hot and dry feeling of the spicy oil/ sauce they use. I have had a similar taste of these thai dishes somewhere in the past, but not in the last town I lived in. I definitely miss these!!
I called my order in and it was ready by the time I got there. Very delicious food!
Great service!
This place is 🔥🔥🔥! Foreal, though!
Not only is the food amazing but the staff and service are great, too. Nice little spot with a quaint feel, with the capacity for larger groups.
I love peanut butter anything so I tried the Pra-Ram (+lemongrass refreshment & crab roles,) Wife got the Duck Soup, MIL got the Red Curry, and Aunt got the Chicken Larb.
ALL OF THEM WERE 🔥🔥🔥! EVERY ONE OF THEM! (I know, I tried them all!)
So, if you're in Happy Valley and hungry, here's a few options of some 9-10/10's we tried today.
Amazing food, so fresh and creative, served by gracious and friendly staff!
They were very accommodating you my wife’s shellfish allergie and understood us easy and checked everything!
Very good and authentic Thia food great prices Highly Recommend.
This restaurant was a random stop for us because my husband was craving soup.
We were a bit indecisive about what to order so the server helped make suggestions but we ended up ordering what we normally would order at another restaurant or what we were accustomed to. We ordered Beef salad, papaya salad, pad thai, tom yum soup, chicken skewers and salad rolls, and for dessert, mango sticky rice.
The pad thai was my favorite because the pad thai was sweet & sour and had the perfect amount of sauce ( sourness likely from tamarind). If you don't like your food sour, than these may not be for you, pad thai, the beef salad, papaya salad ( very refreshing, btw) and tom yum soup are all also sour but its supposed to be that way!
I, 100% recommend this place! The staff are all friendly and have great customer service skills.
We'll be back to try the other dishes, specifically Khao Soy, Khao moo dang and EVERYTHING ELSE.
I had the chicken pad thai
Taste was very sour and chicken was dry
The food was really good and the service was very friendly. I'll be back when I'm close by.
This is by far the best Thai food I've ever had in the Portland Oregon area. The owner is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. The food is so very delicious, easy the mango sticky rice dessert. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it . I can't wait to go back for more.
Delicious food, a great customer service.
Just Order tofu pad Thai takeout there was chicken in it and I'm a vegetarian so I will never order from here again. Waste of money
Flavors are traditional enough to get what you expect from Thai, yet unique enough to set them apart from other Thai restaurants. Drunken noodles were delicious!
Terrible customer service, don’t tell people it’s going to be 15 minutes when it’s really going to be 60 minutes. I don’t mind you being busy or short staffed I’m a patient and understanding person but don’t lie to me, just be honest with your customers about the wait. I had a lot of time to observe and they basically lied to everyone about the wait as they came in. The least they could have done is apologize for the wait or given some extra egg rolls or something. The food is also outrageously overpriced I was shocked how small the portion was for the expense and barely enough white rice to even fill up on. The pad Thai was unusually orange but flavorful, the yellow curry and fried rice were both very bland and practically tasteless with very little vegetables. I don’t care how close they are it’s so not worth it. One good thing I have to say is the dining atmosphere looked nice and egg roles very good though very very small.
Great food. Very pleasant staff.
I have eaten from this establishment twice, and both times it was outstanding! I think it's my new favorite
Pros: great tasting food, clean atmosphere and friendly staff.
Cons: Entrees are costly. Average for 2 is usually $35-50 from our experience. If you can afford it, it’s worth it tho.
Amazing food in a beautiful, relaxing environment. The staff and owners are attentive and friendly. Their menu is heads and shoulders above your average Thai restaurant. They have all your favorites, but their specialities are where it's at. Have eaten there numerous times and am always thrilled with the quality of the food. Five stars all the way.
The food was amazing. This may become a weekly visit for me. Everyone was super nice and friendly too.
great quality Thai! one of the first USA thai places to find Miang Kham with Betel Leaf. a great presentation and super yummy! good mango martinis
Delicious Thai food in Happy Valley. The menu has a lot of great selections to choose from.
Great food, presentation and the family owned staff are awesome.
I have a somewhat mixed review because some parts were excellent and others really bad. The good was the orange chicken and cashew chicken. They were both excellent and had really good flavor. The bad was the water glasses were washed with detergent and not properly rinsed and tasted like soap. The pad Thai was also really bad. I don’t think it was on purpose and believe the chef might have accidentally used a sweet and sour sauce instead of pad Thai sauce. The pad Thai was orange and tasted like he dumped a cup of sweet and sour sauce over the top. I’m hoping it was an accident, otherwise he just has no idea how to make pad thai
Yellow curry was delicious! I will be back.
Always a pleasure to visit, great staff and the cooks are very good at creating an authentic Thai culinary experience. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in happy valley, be sure to get some mango sticky rice for dessert!
Finally decided to try this place and I must say, it was delicious! Ordered the orange chicken and the duck soup as takeout orders and they were prepared quickly and tasted fresh and amazing! The people who took my order were sweet and very polite. Will be coming back very soon!
Very nice customer service and food is very delicious. The menu has very detail photos to see what you order.😊😁💕👍
Solid Thai joint with fun drinks options.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in the Portland area! Every dish had a unique flavour and was wonderfully prepared. The service is top notch and all of the staff are super friendly. So happy to have a found this local gem!
Terrific service! The setting is comfortable, clean, and nicely appointed. I had a pork/noodle dish that was delicious and nicely presented. Thanks!
Had such a great time with my boyfriend here! The food and their specialty drinks were amazing and very unique. From the start the staff was very friendly, patient while we decided as this was our first time, and so kind. One of my favorite food/drink experiences hands down. We'll definitely be coming back. Thank you, Taste of Bangkok in Happy Valley!! 😊💚
I’ve eaten here several times and the food is always great. The decor is nice and arguably most important, the staff are VERY friendly and helpful. They have a good kids menu as well which is huge for me. A lot of Thai restaurants (in my own experience) don’t have a kids menu or young kid friendly food. My 1 year old is very picky and loved his Thai omelette. Highly recommend this place!
Fantastic yellow curry, pad thai, and pra ram meals!
Been here many times but the last few I have asked for gluten free and have had a reaction. They were always so good at taking precautions but haven't lately. Sad to not trust to come here anymore after going here for over a year..
The food taste was good, but the owner’s customer service is bad. We ordered every dish as Medium, but it all came out really spicy. I called back, was told they are not / can’t do anything about it! I was asking if they can remake 2 out of 5 dishes to be mild for our kids, but they won’t do anything about it! The girl who answered the phone was nice, she was just passing on the massage from the owner or manager. I think that is such poor management and customer service! The customer didn’t get what they ordered and they basically just said : too bad! I understand the business is hard during this time, but that should not be the way to make money!
Awesome Thai food!!! Best ever. And to make it even better, they called to confirm one of my selections on grub hub to verify whether or not we wanted gluten free since everything else on the order was! This will be our go to for Thai from now on.
Great food, beautiful decor.
Fast and pretty good :) got Drunken Noodles
The restaurant is not responsible, if you order on line or call , they always forget your order , they forget my order too, and don’t say sorry.
Great food & friendly service
This place has delicious food. The duck noodle soup is ridiculous, in the good way.
I love this place! The food is so good and the staff is very nice and friendly ☺️
Food was great portions were good little pricey the kids meals were good size for young kids
I highly recommend their food. please visit them if you never tried. They have good vegetarian choice. Owners take good care of ur choice for any small parties. Their desert Mango Sticky rice is very delicious.Enjoy food and leave ur comments. Thanks for reading my review.
Awesome!
Great soup
A group of us dined there several weeks ago. The server was very friendly and helpful. We had just returned from a trip to Thailand and shared our experiences with him. He was interested in our trip & was a good sport when we tried to speak a little of the Thai we remembered. We stayed a long time, visiting with each other yet never felt rushed by the staff. The food was very good & we compared it to some of the best food we had in Thailand. We especially liked the Khao Soi, which not all Thai restaurants serve. Would definitely go back!
So delicious! Nice staff. :)
Good food
I had the yellow curry which was very delicious a light creamy sauce my husband had a shrimp and mango dish that was great the service was excellent and the people very sweet and kind I definitely recommended
My specialties are curry, pad kee Mow and fried rice. I might not be an expert, but I often go to different Thai restaurants to test just their food.
I have to say that this time the curry was a little bit too watery. Based on that you can tell that it comes from a big cooking pot so maybe that’s why it lost that thickness or density that I am looking for in the curry. Overall the flavor was ok and all vegetables well cooked.
we ordered two noodle dishes light spicy which they weren't at all. didn't like the pad thai at all .
Lunch specials daily include choice of appetizer for $9.50. Cashew Flavor with vegetables was very good. Also had the "fresh roll" which was a salad roll served with peanut sauce. Great lunch!
Great place to eat.
We ordered the red curry vegetarian last Sunday night to go as we were the last customer of the night. The manager took our order and repeated it to confirm it was correct.
Once we were home we began to eat it and my throat started to swell and we realized it had chicken in it which I am very allergic to. They were closed all day Monday so we reported it Tuesday. They apologized for the mistake but did not offer a replacement. I asked. The employee had to contact the manager to verify my story. The employee called me back and said it was okay. I asked for a free side of salad rolls for the 40 min round trip drive and the hassle. They were not willing to do that but they did offer a drink instead. That's nice. but bot what I wanted.
They did not replace my dinner meal. They gave me half the amount or a lunch serving with no rice. I had to ask for the rice. In my opinion, they did not address customer satisfaction . I expect the meal to be replaced correctly and they should have offered the salad rolls as a courtesy. The restaurant business is built on customer satisfaction and I hope this can be used as constructive criticism . I will not retur and I do not recommend
