Thai & Pacific Rim standards & specials offered in a modern, sophisticated room plus large patio.
We went to Sabai last night for Valentine’s and had great food as always! We always have good service but last night was exceptionally great! Our server Dylan was amazing and made our experience 10 times better which I didn’t think was possible! His attitude was awesome, his knowledge of everything on the menu was amazing and his recommendations were on point! He was very stylish and a joy to interact with even with the Valentine’s Day rush. Just wanted to give kudos where kudos were due!
Wow! We had such a great experience. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. We had a sampling of dishes, including the pockets of love, scallops carpaccio, tempura green beans, white angel on fire and the fancy Thai eggplant. Everything was great, I do wish our dishes were spicier but that is a personal preference. Looking forward to eating here again. I recommend reservations even for lunch because it was packed!
Alright, here with the boys. On a road trip, you know it’s gonna be a smash. Shoutout the dad. Paid for. The food was great. Great flavors. I don’t know a lot about Thai food but it was salty, sweet, and different flavors all around. Service was great. There wasn’t really any spice. The rice was good. The curry seemed to lack uniqueness, but it was classic. Don’t know what the other dishes were called but they were all good. Overall, 7.6 which equals 3.8. Close enough to 4. Till next time.
Busy place! Be ready to wait but it’s great food. We are here passing through and loved it. I got the basil fried rice dish. Very good. Their spicy level is on the high side. I got medium and it was plenty of heat for me.
The portions are large. You can easily share or you will probably have left overs.
We ordered the Fresh Salad Rolls with the most amazing peanut sauce that I can only describe as the best PB&J dip I've ever had. My husband, who doesn't like fresh rolls, even finished his. That says A LOT. We also ordered the Golden Rolls, which were perfection in a wonton wrapper. By far, the best "egg roll" you can order. The noodles inside were even perfectly cooked!
As a foodie who is really getting into making my own Thai at home, this has so far been the best Thai restaurant I've ever eaten in and has inspired me with things to do in my own dynamic kitchen.
For dinner, we ordered the Crying Tiger Salad, which was spicy and toasty and absolutely delicious. If not a wee bit too much red onion, the mint really made that dish shine. My only complaint was the steak was tough, albeit perfectly cooked to how we ordered it, medium rare. Additionally, the Spicy Cachew Chicken Noodle was spicy on the lips and cooked, again, perfectly. Vegetables had texture, and the noodles cooked beautifully.
I also saw the Scallops be delivered to another eater, and the scallop looked seared to perfection.
I'm so impressed. We will be back with everyone we know.
Sabai is definitely in our top 3 places to eat, not just for the food but also the quality of service.
Unfortunately, this was likely our most disappointing Sabai experience to date.
We were seated promptly just before our reservation, which was nice.
Upon ordering drinks, the seasonal beer i asked for was empty and the cocktail 🍸 that my wife ordered came mixed with tequila in place of amaretto which is quite far off but we were assured it was because their bartender was recently replaced and was learning the menu.
We ordered golden rolls and they were amazing as always 😋
More disappointment came with our main dishes which were yellow curry rice made vegan with extra veggies. Unfortunately the veggies in the meal were not fully cooked or even warmed to the core which is likely because the broccoli pieces were huge which also made them too hard to cut with a fork without making a mess (maybe they also have a new cook?). The flavor of the meal was also just a bit bland compared to every other time we eat here.
It was disappointing to bring my mom here from out of state only to have a sub par experience after talking it up so much.
We will be back again but hopefully next time they will be back to their old quality.
Went in today for an early dinner with my bosses and my 8 year old son between jobs. We were dressed in work uniforms. We were 3rd in line right after they opened. It took about 15 minutes to get seated outside. Our hostess had a bit of an attitude for some reason. We were seated and ordered apps. My son and I had the vietnemese wings and chicken satay. Wings were good, but we didn't finish them. Satay was better and the peanut sauce was very good. Our waiter was great and kept the ice teas coming. The scallops I'm told are the best item here hands down by both bosses. Not my thing so I took there word for it. The sabai noodles with chicken was pretty decent and made better with the addition of the chefs housemade chili oil. The steak salad I tried from my coworker was fabulous. The flavors in the dressing were very unique. If I come back that's the thing I'm ordering. Pretty ok visit, but for 150 dollars I expected a bit more. May try again.

I love Thai food and the flavors in the dishes I enjoyed at this restaurant were amongst the best I have ever tasted.
When travelling thru Eugene I look forward to grabbing a big take -away of Sabai’s yummy Pockets of Love… then sharing and enjoying them when I get home… delish!!
One of the best restaurants in Eugene! Well flavored food, nice ambiance (relatively trendy on weekends). Have returned multiple times.
Staff was professional. Atmosphere was a bit loud. Pad Thai with seafood was terrible. The calamari was so tough I nearly broke a tooth. The scallops were cold and the noodles were soggy and pasty.
Hard tie between them and another establishment for our go to for Thai in Eugene. But one stand out thing I encountered this evening at their take out window were the tipping options at the POS. I like to leave the kitchen and takeout crew something and they make it easy with the tipping percentages at the pickup window POS. Not that it's hard math but its always nice to not have to think about it
Tasty food and relaxing pleasant ambiance. I had a Rangoon Gimlet and the Lava Catfish (requested medium spice level and it was just right for my taste) which were both really good.
Great place! Good service, food is not exactly authentic, but very good.
Three words.....Angels in fire. Everything I've tried has been amazing! But the AIF is next level!
To be honest (for a change) I didn’t eat here, but I did get a gift card for peeps who love it so it’s prolly great 👍
🤦🏻♀️Fake crab frozen meat main course was not served hot. Wait staff looking at reservations book like surgery was being done 3 to 4 people trying to figure out seating🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ ridiculous
Beautiful place with great service and excellent food. From their drinks, to appetizers, to our lunch, we enjoyed it all.
Amazing food, staff, and vibe! Try the Salmon penang curry and pockets of love!
It tastes as good as it looks. The staff was very nice and accommidating for vegan options via phone and in person. the restaurant is clean and everyone in there seemed to feel the same way.
Sabai has been a reliable spot for great food and service for years. Tonight was no exception. The cocktails were particularly good this evening and the service was terrific.
My family visited Eugene in Portland and went to dinner. My family praised it for being delicious, but there is an employee who starts cleaning up the bowl even before I finish eating and tells me to go outside because there are customers, but I think it's too rude. I came down for 2 hours and went to the restaurant, but they told me to eat and go. I didn't have any more time for conversation. I don't want to go again.
10/10 can’t say enough, it was truly a meal
Staff was rude, service was slow, the owner was not accomadating at all despite the fact that they messed up our meal (ordered a curry, recieved fried rice) and the appetizer i ordered never reached my table. Would not reccomend.
We were visiting from Virginia and Sabai came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. I had the Sabai noodles with beef and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent.
First impressions count and Sabai is a winner. Bright, modern surroundings, great service, delicious food and ample portions. Innovative bar drinks. Excellent menu of varied choices. The staff are very personable and attentive. Kitchen was able to accommodate for a food sensitivity. We have made this restaurant a favorite go-to for all occasions.
Very noisy place was the only problem.
Wish they had changing specials. Seems same menu for years.
I had the green bean app and the panang curry. The panang was one of the best I've had and the app was really tasty too.
Stop by for the 1st time yesterday. Had their beef noodles padthai. It was so salty. Paid for it and told the bartender to let the cook know. He acted like OK so what! Not going back ever.
We had to ask for water twice. Food was ok,.. Took awhile to take our order,.. Please hire more people to service your customers.
Love it here! Great place for Thai. The food is delicious, and their service is great. I got their avocado curry noodle dish, and their new blackberry lemonade (that was soooo good). I recommend all of it, me and my whole family enjoyed.
Went here for Girl’s Night, and no complaints at all. Staff is excellent and so friendly. And the food is INCREDIBLE. Seriously, my favorite Thai food I’ve had. Thank you Sabai for a fun night!
My first time here, so amazing the food was fantastic. The Thai iced tea so smooth. I loved the atmosphere, all of it.
Great customer service. Freezing cold on a 80 degree day. The Pockets of Love were good, but i discarded 1/2 of each as there was too much fried rice paper and hardly any filling. Crispy Thai Basil had zero flavor and was sickeningly sweet. Great drinks!
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Eugene
We had an excellent meal and service. Our food was delivered promptly and was fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding and the wait staff accommodating and personable. I would highly recommend Sabai!
Alright, here with the boys. On a road trip, you know it’s gonna be a smash. Shoutout the dad. Paid for. The food was great. Great flavors. Amazing service and the food was fantastic
The food is absolutely amazing.
Very very delicious food. High quality
One of my all time favorites.
Such a great experience. Five star restaurant, Dylan is a nice guy, he so respectful, patient.
This Thai Restaurant is Super Amazing!! We've been customers here for years ! It's romantic..quiet...excellent quality of dishes and the Wait Staff are very professional..knowledgeable..kind...and is there for all one's need. There is also outdoors seating.
Good. Had to scan for menus, but they were willing to give paper menus.
💕 One of my favorites! Amazing food and food allergy-safe. Never disappointed. 🦋🌻☀️
Always excellent.
You haven't lived until you have had a rangoon gimlet.
Full bar, nice, neat & clean. Good services, food is ok, just ok, compares to HON restaurant.
Reasonably priced, big portion of food.
We ordered Wings, Papaya Salad, Pad Thai noodles, Drunken noodle.
Love everything I've had here!
Sabai is by far the best restaurant in Eugene. It is where we take all guests, and invariably, everyone loves it. Their Tangoon Gimlet is also my favorite drink in the world. The staff is so friendly, the restaurant is immaculate, and it’s located in the loveliest shopping district in Eugene, Oakway Mall.
Clean, friendly staff, fast service great food!
Had to try Sabai. Found it to be a trendy Thai restaurant. Great service and excellent food. We found that most of the food was curry based, so prepare yourselves for the flavors.
Service has really gone downhill. Food is excellent but most unfriendly service. Waiter was more interested in getting us out so they would have new customers. Server was in a hurry, too busy to show politeness.
Sabai continues to impress! Was seated early, server came by to check of I wanted anything while I waited. Appetizers (tempura green beans are beyond delish...Vietnamese wings Spicy and excellent, main course of Crispy Thai Basil was Superb). Everyone is attentive, and one young man just seemed to be near, though not our server, who was very cool. He brought my friend napkins, utensils, all with a smile!
Classy and delish...it doesn't get better than this😉
Great food and friendly staff!
Absolute favorite spot for thai cuisine in Eugene! Located in the Cal Young area, has a perfect menu from curry to classic and artisanal cocktails. It's a go to, and you should make it yours!
The food is delicious and the selection at the bar is abundant! If you are looking for a new place to try and have a craving for Thai food, you gotta try this place! The staff here is excellent and will have you feeling right at home :)
I came to this restaurant about a month ago with my family and had a decent experience. The food was pretty good and our drinks were great. The bartender, Jason, was very helpful and gave outstanding service. That being said, the next time I came in, the waiter, Kevin, was so rude to me it was appalling. He basically said they are the best restaurant in town and I am not worthy of them. To be honest, I’ve had better and cheaper Thai food at a food truck for $15. This place is very overpriced and clearly hires rude, snotty people who think they are better than everyone to work there. My family and I have had a very bad taste in our mouths since. This man made me cry and ruined my day. I’ll never forget this horrible treatment and have made sure to let my friends know.
Pretty good!
Awesome food!!!
Revision: Sabai has changed. They accepted my service dog. I am so glad as they have become ADA compliant. And I tasted their amazing food. The Oyster stew was sublime and the seafood Pad Thai was elevated with some spice. I will frequent restaurant again.
If you're going to eat in one place in Eugene, eat here and ask for Mon.
If I could give this six stars for service I would. Mon was a rockstar and made the experience incredible. This was recommended to us by our hotel concierge as "her favorite place for food in Eugene" and absolutely lived up to the hype. Every single thing we got was amazing: We started with the Thai 71 which was bubbly and refreshing enough that I asked for the recipe. For apps we got the Pockets of Love and the tempura green beans, both of which were light and delicious. For mains, we got the Massaman Curry with tofu. That's what I always order when I get Thai, and this exceeded my expectations. We also got the Crispy Thai Basil with Pork, which was Mon's recommended favorite, which was even better. We finished our meal 100% satisfied and ended the night with cupcakes, which were a sassy little surprise.
Mon kept our waters refilled and checked in on us to make sure everything was okay. If I ever get the pleasure of coming back, I hope I can be sat at her table again.
Great food and service
Love it! First time experiencing and it didn’t disappoint. From Service through food everything was perfect.
They have very good cocktails. My margarita was delicious.
Portions are generous but not excessive. If you order something HOT in terms of spicy. Careful it’s gonna be very spicy.
Start with the amazing golden rolls !!! Yumm.
Better if you call for reservations during Friday and weekends.
This place is so delicious! Be sure to make a reservation in advance- they are very busy.
Loved the food! Generous portions!
Always great! Thai tea is the best.
We love coming here, make a reservation though as they are always busy!
Awesome all the way around!
Top class cuisine with excellent service!
We had the best service and great food here.
We happened to pass the town and not knowing where to eat. Coming in, we didn’t have any expectation, thinking it would be just another Americanized Thai food. But it was definitely one of the best Thai restaurant we been. We been to a lot.. from LA Thai town, east coast. But this place is just certainly one of the best. We ordered a fried rice, a curry dish, and fried wing appetizer. Our server was great too.. very attentive to details. Really pleasant experience during our short stay in town!
Driving through Eugene and stopped here for dinner. Really really good. Pad se ew had great noodle-chew and seasoned very well. The wings were really good; well cooked with lots of meat on them, however they were a bit salty. The veggie rice rolls were very fresh albeit they had a little too much lettuce in them for me. Would still recommend all three dishes.
Always a great place for some delicious Thai. Just plan a head with a reservation. I love Sabai noodle with chicken. Plus big servings with always enough for left overs the next day.
Eugene's best restaurant
Was on a date and had the yellow curry; it was the best Thai food hands down in this town (and I’ve had some good Thai food here and in Portland!) the service was prompt, attentive , and efficient. The vegetables tasted fresh and cooked to perfection, and I ordered spicy (which is more “American spicy” than Thai, which I’d fine), which was the perfect balance.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary tonight. We were treated very special from the time we checked in. Great service above and beyond. Great food and exceptional service! We will definitely come back again and again.
Food is always amazing!
Hands down my favorite yellow curry!! I add shrimp and it’s the freshest, tastiest shrimp I’ve had in a curry. The fried green beans with aioli are also some of the best green beans in the game. Can’t go wrong with the pineapple fried rice or the drinks either.
Everything’s delicious here, such a gem in Eugene. Visit this place every time I’m here!
Service was a tad slow, but yellow curry was excellent!
We had dinner. The food was so so. It lacked flavor. Our table was in the middle of the room very awkward. The crowd seemed very snotty. The wait staff was good.
We ordered the Fresh Salad Rolls with the most amazing peanut sauce that I can only describe as the best PB&J dip I've ever had. My husband, who doesn't like fresh rolls, even finished his. I'm so impressed. We will be back with everyone we know.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We were greeted with a friendly smile and although the place was rather busy, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was Jason and his personality was more than we expected. Jason was very personable, professional and genuinely seemed to care about making our dining experience a great one.
We both ordered crispy chicken basil and it was amazing! Everything was absolutely perfect.
Thank you Sabai, we will make it a point to return when in the area.
Bill H.
Five stars upon thars!
Jason was our server and did an awesome job.
The food (crispy basil chicken with shrimp) was the best we've had and we've tried several.
Ignore the not so good reviews!
You want Thai? Go here!
You want beer? Go here!
We will be back!
Thank you, Jason!
This is truly a 5 star restaurant.
The food is amazing with large portions. Our waiter was fantastic and the prices fair. We had a great time!
Overpriced food for what it was, smaller portions, and a meh flavor... 30 minute time gap from the time our first order was served to the time our last guest got her plate (the birthday girl)
On vacation with our dog, we called here because we read they were dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on patio only & tables are first come, first served. When we arrived, patio was full, but the servers pulled out an extra table for us! The owner, Mon, helped us throughout our meal. Everyone was so friendly & helpful.
my favorite Thai restaurant owners super nice food is really good nice atmosphere!
Busy place! Be ready to wait but it’s great food. We are here passing through and loved it. I got the basil fried rice dish. Very good. Their spicy level is on the high side. I got medium and it was plenty of heat for me.
The portions are large. You can easily share or you will probably have left overs.
Nice looking restaurant with friendly waiters, but mediocre mall food and very loud. My crunchy Thai basil had a ton of water in it, and needed to be drained. The pineapple rice was very bland; the spring rolls were so so, made with chicken. We liked the Montini mocktail….tasty. I don’t expect to go again..there has got to be better Thai in Eugene.
Great place, great Thai curries, usually very busy. Their _curries_ are closely on par with some of the restaurants that I've been to in Thailand. I enjoyed their Salmon Panang Curry and Avacado Green Curry with Chicken, $20 and $18 respectively, (in 2019). It is pricey, but worth trying once. Softly recommended.
Was invited here for a friend's birthday dinner. We were a table of 7 (originally 8 but one left feeling under the weather). Not impressed with the service, starting from when my husband hobbled in with his cane and the hostess didn't offer to seat us at our open reserved table while waiting for the others to arrive. Our waiter was pretty snippy and condescending. He definitely knew from the get-go that his tip was guaranteed because of the size of the party. Its a very loud restaurant and at one point, he had me yelling my drink order down the table instead of coming to my end of the table to take it? The appetizers were good and the cocktails were lovely. But the clincher came when we got, first, just a random bowl of rice put on the table before any food came. Second, 2 dinners came while the birthday girl and several others got no food. Then, 3 more dinners arrived 14 minutes later. Eighteen minutes later, the last 2 dinners for the birthday girl and her mother finally arrived. This is appalling for this price point. How could you not have everyone's meals come out simultaneously? And it wasn't just minutes between the rest- it was a long time. The waiter offered no apologies or explanations as to the near 20-minute gap in dinner service. By this time, the random giant bowl of rice was ice cold of course. The food was fine but I've had better at other places in town. This place has a hipster vibe and definitely a hipster wait staff. But, I don't want a "too cool for school" attitude when I'm out for a meal. I wasn't paying but the meal totaled over $500 and the waiter got a fat $83 automatically added on. Frankly, he didn't deserve that large a tip and we certainly didn't add any additional tip because he certainly didn't go above and beyond in any way. I'm pretty shocked this place is so popular. I guess people like ok food and bad service? I won't be returning.
Went in today for an early dinner with my bosses and my 8 year old son between jobs. We were dressed in work uniforms. We were 3rd in line right after they opened. Really good food and really good service. I ordered pad ke mao, and my friend ordered teriyaki chicken. I love piping hot food. Today, it was lukewarm. Delicious, but lukewarm
I love everything about this restaurant from the taste of various items on the menu but nothing beats the wings! Best thing I ever had in my life literally
Oh my gosh. There are three fantastic Thai restaurants in Eugene and Springfield which our families, friends and co-workers consider to be deserving of regular visits but Sabai alone has several advantages. There's its central location in the wonderful Oakway Mall, its patio seating and fountain, its very private booths and dining area for those special occasions, its themed cocktails, and its wonderful menu, always perfectly plated. I can't think of a single thing anyone might do to improve our experience there. It's always crowded, so it's a tad 'noisy' but hey, it's a very popular public restaurant, so just consider it part of the amazing 'ambiance' of Sabai!
For the prices I was expecting soo much more as far as the food goes. And the prices were not crazy but they are higher than most . All the way down to the water... on a nice hot day who doesn't like ice in their water, but buy a lemonade and you get a glass half the size of the water and they fill that glass to the brim with ice and splash with lemonade. The wings were nothing special. Scallops were cold maybe on purpose for what idk. But not what I was hoping for. We both however enjoyed the calamari salads the were cooked perfectly and that's rare to see . And environment or atmosphere was OK if you like to feel like sardines in a can. And with doors all open there were these two flies that wouldn't just go away. The service was great. They always wanted to do more for us and everyone else of course. We knew because of the whole sardines in a can thing. Just not much is personal at that point. There's one other place in town that is the exact same way and their food was awesome but I havnt been back only because it erks me if you want to fit more people get a bigger location. Simple. No one likes less leg room on an airplane just like no one likes to hear everyone's conversation but the person's that you are with
I ordered takeout and the serving sizes were so much smaller than the in-house dining portions that the food wasn’t worth the price.
It was a Thursday early evening and it was crowded, which says something about the place. We were able to sit promptly 🌟but the hostess informed us that we can have the table if we are able to limit our time to 90 minutes ???? Rude and inappropriate for a high quality/class restaurant. The food was good, I got green curry with shrimp, it was delicious, although I've never had it in Thailand with a dominant taste of cumin, I love cumin, and it was quality! ✨ my friend liked the food also. I recommend this place.
I am eating a Keto diet and had a wonderful catfish dish that was keto friendly. The service was great!
Oh my God, I love this place so much. My sister has loved this place for years, and I went for the first time like a year ago. Sabai is now my favorite restaurant in Eugene. Great vegan options too. Amazing service, beautiful atmosphere, lil pricey– but definitely worth it.
One of the best restaurants in Eugene. Staff is friendly, restaurant is immaculate, food and drinks are above and beyond. If you don’t like Thai food, they have plenty of other options, such as New York steak. Their Crimson is one of their best cocktails using fresh blackberries, vodka, lime and soda. Their Vera Cruz is my favorite drink, with gin, lime and grapefruit juice, and cherry liquor..
I have always loved Sabai. My friend and I went there last night. The service was great. On the downside, we felt rushed and the food had slipped to ok instead of great. I was really disappointed about feeling rushed through dinner. It won’t be my go to restaurant anymore.
Love this place! Best drinks I’ve had in all of Eugene. My wife and I grab a classic along Island Ice Tea, they are killer. Appetizers are fantastic too.. not to also mention the food. Great atmosphere, low lit and can be low key. Love it.
Absolutely great food.
One of the best Thai food I ever had. This place gets busy, so reservation is recommended. Otherwise, online ordering is fine since it's fast and easy.
You would think they could afford air conditioning with the prices they charge. The garage door they open for the bugs gives us that remodeled gas station feeling. Joy.
Great fresh food you can taste the love they put into it. Just a bit pricey for takeouts, but portions are generous, would recommend and return. Had avocado curry 🍛
Great date spot. One of my favorite restaurants. Food is absolutely delicious!
Amazing Restaurant! Best Service ever. The food is top notch.
THEE BEST Thai fusion food in Eugene!
One of my absolute favorites in Eugene! The pockets of love are to die for!!
Best food ever... my new favorite... the only con was the noise, hard to have a conversation with the people I sat with...
Absolutely Delicious
Wonderful red curry.
The vegan options were great!
Clean, modern, upscale atmosphere. Food was truly delicious. Portions very large.
Pretty good food, annoying hours. Don’t try to come in close to closing, even for their mid day break.
Good store 👍🏻
Wonderful service. Great drinks, Great food.
Fantastic! What a good place to eat while staying at the Hyatt. Really really impressed!
This is the best Thai I've had in years. We were visiting Eugene and this restaurant was walking distance to our hotel. Great food and they will definitely kick up the spice level if you ask for Thai hot. I just wish they were in our town!
Gretchen is a fantastic waitress and food amazing
I gave 1 star because our experience yesterday the 7th/2023 was worse, we ordered chicken wings and it's overwhelmed with the fish sauce, so it's sooo fishy and salty, and the cat fish was delicious but there's fish bone in it and no one informed me, so I chocked in it, I short of expecting some comp but no I still need to pay full price and bone that stuck in my throat.
Arguably the only restaurant in Eugene that maintained consistent quality through a pandemic. Impressive! Wonderful menu, warm staff, will be back again and again. This is the place you take your picky friends from out of town, will not disappoint.
I love this spot!!!!!
A favorite place. Their Vietnamese wings and scallops carpaccio make for a delicious meal. Their signature gimlet is perfection. I always get great service sitting at the bar.
Delivery Thai cuisine.
Spicy means spicy! Medium means spicy. Mild means, 'I need more Thai iced tea but at least I still have my taste buds.'
Seriously delicious and very helpful staff.
Great food, beautiful setting, will be back.
Our favorite place was closed so we tried Sabai for the first time on a Friday. I'm sorry to complain but I feel folks need a fair warning. This is not a good place for a relaxing meal or tai food enthusiasts, and definitely not for an intimate date. I chose the wrong restaurant and most definitely the wrong dish. When we walked in they said they just opened and it was empty, quiet, and looked very nice. They said they would slip us in before the reservations came and we had a 90 min time limit. Within 30-40 min every table was full, super crowded, loud, pop and country music playing, rushing around. The food? It was luke warm, bland avocado curry, avocado still cold, super pungent rubbery seafood, over-spiced papaya salad, giant veggies and no knife to cut them. My husbands stir fry was alright, and the service was fine, but my dish actually made me sick and I only took 3 bites. My husband tried to eat some and he got sick too. Oh, and the 90 minute time limit is apparently for everyone. What in the world? I thought it was just us since they "fit us in" but apparently that's how they run things, and that's not cool. I'd rather wait 90 min for an excellent tai meal. This is overpriced fast food. Swanky little place, but still. No thanks.
Had a great time good service and great staff will definitely recommend it ❤
Had a great experience! Food was flavorful and spicy!!! The server was knowledgeable and friendly!
Best food in town as far as I am concerned. Their Sabai noodles with chicken is incredible. My wife has dietary restrictions and Sabai has a wide variety of dishes she can choose from. Thus, I highly recommend them as a must go to restaurant.
This place is always amazing. Honestly one of the best places to eat in all of Eugene. When people ask me where should I go to eat in Eugene? Sabais is always the first on the list. They are consistently good. I've been coming here for over 5 years not once has the food changed in quality. An excellent sign for an excellently ran business.
The crab puffs were perfection!
Those of you who are interested in leaving a review, in hopes for change. I️ would like to inform you that the owner does not “believe in reviews.” My husband had a poor experience over the phone with the hostess, he left a review and we ultimately decided not to have my sister in laws birthday dinner here because of it. My husband ended up removing the review he originally left. We just decided to chalk it up to an odd experience and intended to leave it at that.
However, why I’m feeling the need to leave this review now… Is because after the review had been deleted, the owner called us to reprimand my husband for leaving it in the first place. He said it was “particularly disturbing to him because it mentioned the employees name” that my husband had the experience with. (Again, this review had been deleted at this point.) So my husband told the owner that the review had been deleted. To which the owner still continued his point of letting my husband know that his “behavior was unacceptable” and “he hopes he never does that in the future.”
I️ was very startled and quite frankly disturbed over the fact he felt it necessary to reprimand my husband over a review and not his employee. I️ would also like to state my husband did not call anyone names or use any profanities in this review. His only issue was that “he used a young girls name.” Which he proceeded to explain for over 10min.
It was extremely weird. Had the owner just let it go (SINCE THE REVIEW HAD BEEN DELETED) I️ wouldn’t have even bothered writing this or sharing this story. But the experience was just so odd, I️ ended up reaching out to multiple people to ask their opinion, they also thought that this encounter was odd.
I️ personally will never eat at this restaurant and have now had other friends and family members who have said the same, after hearing our experience.
Love this place!!
I have eaten here quite a bit over the last 6 years living in Eugene. I feel like price keeps going up and quality keeps going down. It is like any quality control in the kitchen has just disappeared. To many instances of ice cold appetizers, entrees swimming in a pool of oil, or entrees that are normally super flavorful just being incredibly lack luster and bland. Then every time you go it seems to cost just a little more, lunch prices up for $10 - $18+ in just 5 years.
The food was very tasty. The service excellent. There is not an ambience but the restaurant is very clean and open. I have a reaction to salt so be aware the noodles and sauces have lots of salt. Not sure about msg but one could ask.
My sister and I brought our parents to Sabai for dinner Thursday night. Mon was our waitress. She was so sweet and kind and just a real joy. Thankyou for helping our Mom with her left over dinner and boxing it up for her. You truly made our dinner night out very special!
Thank you again! And the food was excellent!
