Delicious | clean and bright atmosphere
First time coming here after hearing good things about this place from the Bay Area. It's another good quick lunch spot to hit up.
We ordered the original (delicious): chicken breast, thigh with skin, bed of rice with a side of cucumber slices, and a cup of chicken broth. This was perfect to have right after my climbing session. I liked their sauce on the side, which has a gingery taste. The meat is so moist! Chicken breast can usually be dry, but this was excellent. I also had it with some of the broth, and this really completed my meal with a nice cold and rainy fall day. Thanks!
Good sized portion too. Next time, I would like to try the Pearl.
There is another establishment in the back, a bar, so I'd like to check that out next time.
Good parking and location.
Casual. Clean. New. We'll be back!
Want to get laid? Bring your bumble date here. Absolutely delicious food. I got the hat yai and popcorn chicken with habanero and it was delicious. The habanero is not thai hot, more like sinaloa mexico hot (lets face it, their spiciness is nothing like thai spicy). Well worth the money and youll certainly

The hat yai chicken stole the show for me! Crispy skin and juicy chicken were amazing with rice! I was excited to get my khao mun gai fix here, but I think I still prefer Nong's in Portland. Though it's still a pretty solid option.
Restaurant has a bar and seating that has a great view of Walker Road. Workers are friendly, place is clean, plenty of parking.
Wow the food here is amazing! There's very few places that serve authentic Khao mun gai, and this place is legit! The rice is perfectly cooked and the boiled chicken has a ton of flavor! I also like that they give you a little cup of broth which is suuuuuper tasty and just adds in even more flavor to the meal. Throw in the teriyaki and chipotle sauces any this was worth every penny! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!
This is a great addition to the suburbs (I don't have to drive to Portland to get the dish) . I have been here a couple of times now and tried a good majority of items in the menu. I liked that they have the hat yai style chicken and khao mun gai. A must is to add the poached egg to the khao mun gai dish and to get the ginger scallion sauce. Both of those give the dish that extra flavor profile to bring it to the next level. Their congee and larb popcorn chicken were tasty.
The khao man gai here made is very simple, but flavorful and well-made. I find it to be a comforting meal. So far I've only been to this restaurant twice, but I find myself thinking of their food regularly and craving chicken from here. The entrees are a bit on the pricey side, but I think they give you a fair amount of protein and rice. Their sides are reasonably priced, however. The restaurant's interior is clean and customer service is prompt and pretty friendly from my experience.
I recently checked out Rooster & Rice at the recommendation of some friends who live in Beaverton. They opened just a week ago, so we were curious to give them a try. Overall, it was a good experience with some things to note.
First, parking was super easy, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit enjoyable right from the start.
I ordered the Hat Yai chicken. While the flavor was great, I did get a bit concerned when I saw some bloody spots inside the chicken--it made me wonder if it was fully cooked. I ended up pouring all the sauce over it instead of dipping, which helped balance everything out, but I'd love to see the cooking tightened up a bit as they find their rhythm.
On the flip side, the larb popcorn chicken was a total hit! Crispy, packed with flavor, and easy to snack on. I'd go back just for that.
It's worth noting that they're still new, so I'm hopeful these small hiccups will get sorted. I'll definitely give them another shot down the line and see how things progress. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit!

Chicken rice less flavourful as nongs. The chicken itself is drier than nongs. The sauce is not as flavourful as nongs which has more ginger.
Basically go to nongs. This place is just ok at best.
I recently checked out Rooster & Rice and I am already craving it again. The popcorn chicken has an incredible flavor and it is the perfect texture. Great for fast casual.

The food is okay, but the taste is bland, not the Southeast Asian flavor as expected, the portion is a bit small, and the food is not hot enough.

2nd time here and I was surprised to hear they charged an extra $1.50 for sauce that they ask if you want to add. Good quality and taste great, but that honestly rubbed me in the wrong way. The sauce should not be an extra charge and if it is, be upfront about it. At $14.95 a plate for chicken and rice — this should be complementary… right?
As I was finishing up my meal (dined in) I noticed one of the kitchen staff who was wearing blue gloves tapping away at their phone… then afterwards immediately started prepping food without washing or changing gloves. I get it, kitchens are probably gross in general but when you have the kitchen open to the public— maybe be a little extra careful about appearing very clean. 😳😳😳
Great food! Maybe a pork option would be a good idea.
The congee was awesome and exactly what I needed on a cloudy PNW day. The bar in the back is excellent as well-delicious craft cocktails and personable inviting staff.
The vibe is very chill, easy going, and fun. You can tell by the demeanor of the crew that they are happy and enjoy being there (always a sign that the food will be delicious too). Such a great experience. I will definitely be back again and again <3

I ordered it online to help save some time, and the food was ready by the time I arrived. It was piping hot and I couldn’t wait so I decided to dine inside.
It’s been a while since I had a phenomenal chicken, but this is definitely top of the line this year. It’s really difficult to find rice that’s flavorful and has the right firm texture.
Amazing thing is both were top-notch and complemented each other so well I couldn’t decide which one was better lol
I’m very happy to have tried it and will be a repeat customer whenever I’m craving something chicken related to keep me warm during the upcoming winter month ahead .
Great to have a new type of "fast food" that's healthy and delicious!! The side of chicken broth that comes with the chicken and rice is something special unto itself.
Simple and tasty 😋
overall, this restaurant is great, and the neighborhood is so blessed to have them! since they opened, i’ve picked up food here at least once a week for a quick, healthier dinner. i stick to the Khao Man Gai, specifically the pearl. my partner has sampled several dishes, his favorite being the Hot Yai Wings. i’ve found flavor and quality to be pretty consistent. it’s nice to have this option so we don’t have to go all the way to the well-known spot in Portland for Khao Man Gai.
the only issue i’ve consistently noticed is the customer service. there is only one person behind the counter that manages the register, taking call-in orders, and handing out pick-up orders. since they are usually busy and someone almost always takes 10 mins ordering or takes 10 mins to deal with a problem with an order, this keeps the one person working the counter tied up from handing out pick-up orders… so i’m standing around waiting for food that’s ready and getting cold. i hope they find a better way to manage the situation soon.
all that said, if you order Khao Man Gai, don’t forget to add crispy chicken skins :)
Love the food here! Very tasty and also feel healthy, which especially makes a perfect lunch. They have a nice "hidden" bar in the back of the restaurant. I don't drink but really enjoyed the vibe, mocktail, and food. Great place that can make both non-drinker and drinker happy :)
The chicken were tender and juicy and the sauce delicious. I'm so glad we have this in this part of town. The drinks were great and the service awesome. The only thing was that the portions we had (2 of them) were both lukewarm. Perhaps the soft boiled eggs colkec it down but still too cold for us. Otherwise very well done flavor wise. The tomyum fries is a pass - not distinguishable from any ol' seasoned fries.
I think 4* is a bit generous unfortunately, I was really not impressed with the meat (very dry despite going at peak lunchtime hour) and the pretty scant portion of "kmg sauce". If you're hoping to get anywhere close to what you'd find in Thailand (not easy), you will likely be disappointed by this restaurant.
I hope they'll be able to improve as in understand it's a new restaurant! I think it's a really good idea to bring this type of food here 🙂 and I'd be willing to pay their prices if the taste improved!

the food is pretty good but I do think it’s a little overpriced for the amount of food you get. It’s pretty minimal for 15 bucks a dish.
Food was fantastic and well priced… great spot for lunch or dinner… cool bar in the back too!
Bar Sabai is my favorite part of this place so far. It felt like we were somewhere else besides a strip mall in Beaverton.
We really enjoyed the experience on Wednesday, so it seems like after opening they do have the experience down well.
I had a mocktail that was a bit small (but also delicious). I also added on an order of the fries, which did not seem to be on the menu at the adjacent "fast food style" Rooster & Rice. They were spicy but also really delicious.
Thursday, we ended up with a takeaway order and things were excellent. A creamy kaffir lime sauce that was like a ranch dressing was served for dipping the popcorn chicken and I want to swim in a bathtub of that stuff. It was so good.
I wish these guys long term success and popularity.
This restaurant is so good. I was in a food coma after consuming their food. I had the original and Larb Popcorn chicken and both were amazing. So flavorful and the texture was spot on for both. I would say that this Popcorn chicken had a moderate level of spice so for someone with a low spice tolerance it was not too hot for me. Would reccomend to everyone.
Really good hat yai chicken
Grand opening: wait was long but it was just due to the quantity of guests. The food counter was churning out completed orders every few minutes so after we put in our order it only took 15 minutes.
I got the original (thigh only). The chicken to rice ratio is just right. I personally would order extra chicken next time because I just wanted more by the time I was finished, but for my partner the regular portion was perfect.
Also ordered the popcorn chicken, the flavor was good and very crunchy. Will come back to try the hat yai chicken.
Khao mun gai was cooked well and went great with the included KMG sauce but we liked it even more with ginger scallion sauce! The Hat Yai chicken also had fantastic flavor, same for the rice it came with. A very nice addition to the neighborhood!

Chicken was perfectly cooked and rice & soup were seasoned well. The best chicken and rice we've ever had. The both KMG and ginger sauce were amazing too. We will definitely go back to this place and highly recommend to our hotel guests
