Please note our Annual Staff Holiday Closure since Monday December 23rd 2024 has been extended. We will re-open on Thursday January 23rd 2025. Please call to confirm we are open before coming or check our website for status updates. We have temporarily discontinued lunch hours, and hope to re-open for lunch in the near future. Otherwise, we are open for Dinner only, Tuesdays-thru-Sundays at 4:00PM. Thank you all very much for your support!
The only thing better than the food, service, and that wonderful chef in the kitchen named Jackie, is the consistency of all this each and every time we visit Buddha Barn in Sayler Park! We first found this little gem when we lived in Ohio and still frequent it now they were living south of Florence KY. My favorite dish is the 3 Yum and my wife’s is the Drunken Noodles with shrimp. Their crispy spring rolls are a must too. Just exceptional every time we go and worth the drive! Thank you Buddha Barn!!
This was a great find! Tucked away across from Sayler Park OH, this Thai restaurant is amazing. The staff is very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.
We started with the Kite, which was very very good! The hubs got Crispy Chicken and I chose Chicken Pad Thai, everything was delicious. The Crispy Chicken is very lightly battered and wok fried in a sweet & spicy sauce. The Pad Thai I got at a #2, perfect amount of heat! It was topped with the traditional peanuts, bean sprout, cilantro & scallions.
Oh don’t forget to try the Lemon Thai Iced Tea, it’s really good Thai Tea, your glass will stay full here, the server was on it!! Try this place, you will enjoy it!!
First off...I love the food here, but find it hard to justify going here unless it's for carry-out, but it's too far away from me to justify that. The last three times I've gone here, the food has taken an extraordinarily long time to arrive (45-minutes minimum for appetizers or soup to start). Last night, when the entree finally arrived it was not only not spiced remotely correctly, but it was lukewarm at best...and when the owner came over...he physically picked up my plate and held it to the light "to see if steam was coming off of it"...seemingly calling into question my ability to discern for myself is something is "hot" or not. The quality of the food (once it arrives) is completely ruined by the experience of untrained staff, an owner that throws that staff under the bus, and this level of baffling customer service. I'm sad to say three times is a charm, and I'm out.
Lovely place, proprietor Rick is friendly and service is good. Bohemian maybe, not a typical restaurant. Way out in the boonies
From top clockwise, Green Giant, Ginger Eggplant, Karee Mahk, drunken noodle. If you ask for family style and get the food in bowls and empty plates it’s brilliant to share. Ask for utensils for the bowls.
It’s byob and there’s a ‘food mart’ next door with good beer selection.
This place was a fantastic find!!! First time here and my husband and I both loved the food!!! I had the drunken noodle and he had a curry dish with jasmine rice, both were delicious and what you would expect for authentic Thai food. They don’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine from the place next door and they will cork it for you. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back!!
Both the service and food were absolutely amazing. My husband and I loved what we ordered (massaman curry and CU noodles). We immediately wanted more the next day! If you're still deciding if you want to try this place, GO. You will not regret it.
The food is always wonderful
The Pineapple Cashew Chicken with level 1 spice is my favorite!! I love this place :)
Always amazing food. Presentation is thoughtful and beautiful.
Amazing food

I love the space and the food is always remarkable!!!
10/5 place! Only downside is its a smaller place so since its definitely only going to get more popular, its going to be harder to get seating there

We asked for the level of spicy to be a "1". It was more like an eight. My meal was nearly inedible. My family said theirs were about sixes. Very disappointed.
Both the service and food were absolutely amazing. My husband and I loved what we ordered (massaman curry and CU noodles). We immediately wanted more the next day! If you're still deciding if you want to try this place, GO. You will not regret it.
Always a great meal with great service!
Adorable little restaurant, worth ever penny spent. The food was amazing and the service was friendly and fast, it was a little hot in the restaurant

Cool local place in Sayler Park. Can be very crowded. We went on a week night and had no problem seating a group of 12. Great server who checked back often. Every dish is beautifully presented and arrives piping hot!
We went here for the second time and it was just as good as the first! This is the first time I’ve been able to have Thai fried rice after having to eat gluten-free, and it was so good. I definitely missed it! We also got edamame and tofu sticks, both of which were really good!
Sure, here's a review you can use:
"I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, and the presentation was top-notch. Rick, the owner, was incredibly hospitable, taking the time to chat with us for a few minutes. He was very friendly and went out of his way to explain the gluten-free options on the menu, which were plentiful and delicious. Overall, a very accommodating and welcoming place. Highly recommend!"
DELICIOUS!
Yummy
Had a fantastic dinner. Can't wait to go back. Food was delicious. Service was outstanding
Amazing. We will be back, for sure. There were so many dishes we wanted to try it was hard to decide what to get. The staff is nice, efficient, and professional.
Great food. We had pineapple and curry. And pad Thai. I wish I could have tried more dishes. They are sticking to Thai spice instead of Americanizing it. Love it! The hot is hot! I will be going back to try more dishes and more updates. We ate in and it is very basic. The staff is friendly and service is fast.
Delicious! We love Thai and this is so close in a cozy location. Make sure you give yourself time as this took a while, but fine for a nice date night experience. Take out is also delicious.
Absolutely delicious, welcoming, cozy.
My family and I love this place! We've eaten in a few times but mostly get it to go. The person at the counter is always friendly and the food is always delicious.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Cincy, and worth a drive to the westside for their creative menu options and elegant presentations. Many vegan options!
Great food! Wish he would put more sauce? Idk what it is something in the chicken tai rice to add some extra flavor. Used to taste a lot better. Overall everyone is super friendly great food
Very small with maybe 10 tables. Tables are first come first serve and it gets very busy. There was one guy running the front desk and another guy who was the only server. They did a great job but were running around like crazy. The food took a bit but to be expected on a Saturday and it was worth the wait. The kite appetizer is a delicious take on crab Rangoon and the Pad Thai was some of the better I've had in the city. The crispy chicken was good too. Overall great experience.
We go here often. Pad Thai, crispy chicken, kite and spring rolls. That's our go to. Never disappoints.
Love their crispy chicken.
This is our favorite Thai restaurant
Great 👍 food
Garlic rice was delicious, nice place but no ac. BYOB
This was our first time eating here. Friends have recommended it and we finally went. It was awesome. Food was delicious. Friendly service. The place is so clean i think we could have eaten off the floor.
Great food, great service. We stayed for a few hours tucked in the back and definitely did not feel rushed out. Their tofu was wonderful and most of their menu options can be made vegan/vegetarian!
Great little place wonderful food fair prices a very pleasant surprise
Our new favorite takeout in sayler park. The food is great!
Great food and the staff is friendly. I don't care to dine-in, as the seating is very tight. I think most people get carry-out like myself.
Best Thai food in Cincinnati! We love the drunken noodles, garlic rice, crispy chicken, and crazy curry. Since discovering it, it’s the only Thai well eat! It’s well worth the drive if you live across town! The space is small, so if you plan to dine in I recommend going for an early dinner or on a weeknight.
Let start by saying that I love Thai food and have eaten at many many Thai restaurants in my life. We had 3 starters and 2 entrees. Of everything we ate, the spring rolls were the only thing with good flavor. Everything else was underseasoned. The food was presented beautifully, service was good & portions were decent but the taste was bland. Everything was just average at best.
As usual this place is spot on! Excellent!
Always great food! Fun and Fresh.
I have never eaten Thai food and a woman that have known for 40 years recommended the Drunken Noodle.Mine was with chicken and a spice level of 2.I don"/ do real spicy well.Glad she helped me out! Will go back again to try other dishes.
Great spot set in scenic Saylor Park. Family owned and damn good food. If you need an adventure off the beaten path head over to Buddha Barn, everything I've ever had was excellent here.
This was a great find! Tucked away across from Sayler Park OH, this Thai restaurant is amazing. The staff is very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

Absolutely loved this place! A hidden gem with very yummy food, cozy interior, and friendly service. Get the crispy chicken! You can thank me later. It was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth! Can't wait to go back 😋
Best Thai food in Cincinnati! A hidden gem.
Food was great. Service slow but very accomodating
Absolutely lovely.
The food was amazing! I had the Pad Kra Pow and the spring rolls and you could taste the fresh flavors all throughout both items. The also had a well written Gluten Free menu (just ask for it) that describes items that are gluten free and which can be made gluten free. Friendly staff.
Food was very fresh tasting. Egg rolls were nice and crispy. Pad Thai very delicate flavor not oversauced. Small restaurant very simply decorated and seating uncrowded. Surprisingly in Sayler Park, which is off the beaten path. Will return to try more items. Good size portions and fair prices. Meal was to go so no pictures.
Good food
Always an excellent experience here.
It’s truly a hidden gem on Cincinnati’s west side.
Sooooo tasty.
One of my favorite places to dine. Fresh ingredients, such great flavors, attentive service in an unassuming small venue.
Cute little place with good food!.
The ambiance, food, and service were all wonderful. We’ll happily come back.
Fantastic food. Service was top notch. Great lunch spot or date night place. Not much for kids so best for dates/lunches. Even the plating is great. Will be returning....often!
I hadn't been here in 4 years but it was just as delicious as I remembered. My girlfriend took me there for my birthday and she loved it as well. Great atmosphere. Very nice and attentive staff. Best Thai restaurant on the Westside! I'm not going to wait so long for my next visit.
This place is so delicious!! The best in the whole tri-State area. Clean, great food and you can bring your own wine. We loved the food and atmosphere!
Great little place hidden away. Best Thai food I've ever had.
Outstanding! This place is a hidden gem. I can't say enough good things about it. The service, food and overall value exceeded my expectations. Very refreshing to go out to eat and have such a positive experience now a days. I'm looking forward to going back.

I liked the food and the service
It was an okay departure from standard Thai fare. Not bad at all. The curries are quite good. Though the noodle dishes didn't seem to be what I'd expect. I think if presentation wasn't a big emphasis they could really be a nice flavorful choice.
Crispy chicken was good. A bit too salty & the only item on the plate. It would've been much better with vegetables.
Great food and nice staff. Will definitely come here again!
Amazing!
Great food! I LOVED the chicken pad thai!
Oh wow! Great food & a wonderful experience. The Thai Pad Noodles w/ Shrimp is outstanding, as was the Thai Fried Rice w/ Chicken. Highly recommend Buddha Barn for high quality & great tasting Thai food on the west-side.
Such a cute place. It was definitely unexpected. The location is not what I expected but the food blew me away. Very good, very authentic Thai food. It's a bit small of a restaurant, so seating is limited, but it's worth checking out if you love Thai food and are looking to try something new.
Visited Saturday night. Great Thai food, the crispy chicken was outstanding.
If you like Thai, you have to try Buddha Barn!
Was good
Pros: amazing food, expertly made, with delightful presentation, and not terribly expensive. Maybe the best Thai food in Cincinnati.
Cons: small place, so you'll be seated close to strangers, and the service was fine but not excellent. But the food was so good, it's hard to nitpick.
I had never tried Thai before tonight, this was THE BEST!! Food was absolutely amazing like seriously freakin fantastic, and the friendliness and customer service was second to none. Amazing environment!
Great food, atmosphere and service.
Very friendly staff, amazing food, and an overall perfect experience!!!
Crispy chicken is banging from this place..then go to lens garden for the veggies and it's on... Lol
The first time I ever ate Indian better than Chinese on the scale of 1 to 10 I ordered a 10 hot which is equal to Chinese extra extra extra spicy wow that was delicious Thai rice cooked twice!!!
Great food and great service!! We came on a snowy, cold Sunday and the restaurant was busy with dine in and takeout orders, but our waiter was super attentive and tried to get us our food as soon as possible because he knew we wanted to be home soon. We waited a bit to order, and the food came out very quickly!!! We ordered the steamed dumplings, chicken pad thai, beef drunken noodles, and pork garlic fried rice and everything was DELICIOUS!!!! We highly recommend dining here, fives across the board!
Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Fast and friendly service.
Food is fantastic.
Creative, very fresh, beautifully spiced. I love it!
Hidden Gem. I know at least 4 people that drive over an hour round trip to go pick up food from here at least once a week. Food is amazing, service is great. I wish they would open more locations!
Never ordered something I didn’t love. Done take out and dined in. Great place.
We get takeout once or twice a week here since we moved to the west side. Best Thai we've had anywhere in Cincy! Always tastes fresh, and the owner and employees are so friendly and make it fun for my daughter when we stop by! HIGHLY recommend this place.
Yum! Yum! Yum! Even the appetizers was great. Do the Thai use soy?
If your in sayler park you must stop by, one of the best secret spots in the city!!
The best restaurant on the west side. So glad to find this gem in the little suburb of Sayler Park. The food is fresh, hot, and served quickly. Layers of flavors, not your ordinary fare. Favorite is the Drunken Noodles, CU Noodles, husband likes the Garlic Rice, kite appetizer was yum too.
The Pad Thai had an amazing flavor and was very fresh! Very friendly and prompt service!!
We ordered for the first time and everything was awesome, fresh and hot .very satisfied
Portion sizes one large enough that we had that take home boxes. The food was great service excellent in a nice atmosphere. And bring your own
The food is amazing prices good service good they only have 4 people total working most of the time only 3 that's counting the chefs so please be patient it's worth the wait.
Really good food here. The restaurant settle in small community south side of Cincinati.
Food looks good and taste really good. Clean dining and clean restroom. Will definitely visit next time we go to Cincy.
Highly Recomended!
Bomb food
A little slow, but excellent food. It has been a long time since I found a thai joint that actually seemed to put some effort into the cooking.
Absolutely delicious food and incredibly kind service!
Food is delicious and gorgeous
This place is great! The food and drinks are delicious, fresh, and carefully prepared.🍛🥤🥗 The service is very friendly, and the all-wood interior helps to make a very calming vibe.😌 Plus, there's so many vegan options!🌱💚 I'm definitely coming back here when I get the chance.
Pad Thai noodles are delicious
Drunken noodles were great!
So good
I love Pad Thai, so glad this restaurant is in my neighborhood...deliciousness every single time 😋💜
My order was from the Out of the Ordinary section of menu...
3 Yum Dinner = crispy fried fish, shrimp and chicken, mixed with cilantro, green onions, lemongrass, mint, Thai chili, shallot, honey lime, with Jasmine rice...the sauce is 💣🔥
Carryout = foods are packaged separate due to Corona Virus 19 Pandemic social-distancing and safety regulation 😷
Even out the carryout pack food was hot, it was super deliciousness, we smashed, we were full + have leftovers 😋💜
Open, Carry-out, Dinner menu only
Closed- Monday
4pm-8:30pm Tues, Weds, Thurs, Sun...
4pm-9:30pm Fri, Sat...
Good eats 😋
Sayler Park, Cincinnati, 45233
My wife and I had the Gao Lao Pad Thai and it was delicious. The spring rolls we're wonderful too. Neither of us like hot spicy food and so we ordered it with zero Heat and it was just perfect for us.
This is my favorite Asian food restaurant, possibly ever. The food has such a good flavor, the ingredients are fresh and great quality. We ordered food today for my birthday, and it was SO GOOD. I’ve never had bad food here, but today was especially good. The portion sizes seem to have grown, which I appreciate since the food is a little expensive for me. I recommend the Thai fried rice, OC noodles or crispy chicken.
Not the normal Asian fare. Dinner here will cost you a little more than the typical Chinese takeout, but it will absolutely be worth the price. They use high quality ingredients and take care in preparing them. They also offer dishes with unique ingredients you won’t see elsewhere. Portions are great as well. Try something new that sounds interesting and you are sure to be pleased.
Red Curry, pad thai, and the spring rolls are our go to. It is always delicious.
First time trying the food o my God it was great
Ok
Great Thai food, consistently good and friendly customer service. Typically order one of their noodle or rice dishes. Only do carryout but the atmosphere is very nice too.
We love eating at Buddha Barn Thai. It was one of our go-to places pre-pandemic. Now we go and carryout our food. We love the crispy chicken. Supple portion sizes, enough to share with two people who are not starving. See you soon, Jack.
One of our favorite restaurants! So good, definitely a hidden treasure!
This restaurant is amazing. Doing carry out or eating in, this place never disappoints.
We had high expectations going in, and they were exceeded. Well worth the 30+ minute drive to get there.
Some of the best Thai food I have had. Very authentic tasting, delicious, and excellent serving size. Owner is very friendly. Quite a wait, but they are always packed.
The place is fantastic. Loved the cashew chicken.
It took 20 minutes for someone to take my drink order. Ordered spring rolls, only for the waiter to inform us (thirty minutes later) that they were out. A lunch during the lesser busy hours takes such a long time. Would not recommend.
It could not be more delicious. So much effort put into the food. Amazing.
Very tasty! Loved the heated bench!
Unique menu, fantastic ambience. The art on the walls is incredible! Superb and delicious, best Thai on the west side (at least since Lin's Pad closed down)!!
Food is tasty but somewhat expensive ($20 per dinner) for the venue. Restaurant is tiny so wait time to sit down can be at least 35 mins, especially because the place doesn't stay open all day (just a few hours each for the dinner and lunch meal times). Small restaurant means small kitchen so expect it to take a while to get your food. So "dining in" means that you'll be there at least 1.5 hours. For carry out, recommend ordering before you're actually hungry because it will take 35+ mins before your order is ready. Like I said the food is tasty so the wait times are not all that surprising.
