Vibrant restaurant & bar serving both Hawaiian & Japanese cuisine, including sushi.
Absolutely terrible. Dry, flavorless fried shrimp served with a flavorless mayo based "sauce" that tastes like plain mayonnaise. Mediocre sushi served with way too much pickled ginger, the smell is quite overpowering. My kani salad was ordered mild, and I recieved spicy kani salad with almost zero cucumber. It was cucumber peels instead. My dinner was supposed to come with macaroni salad, I didn't receive it. We won't even talk about the noodles. That was something from another planet, apparently. We're talking Star-Trek Klingon food. I threw the noodles in the trash. Please save your money and go elsewhere.
I haven't been back for a few years, due to a unpleasant visit, so I thought I'd give them another shot. My experience was basically the same: subpar food and poor service. The sushi didn't taste very fresh and the shrimp tempura wasn't even deveined. The hot dishes were just OK, but the pad thai was not good at all; it tasted more like tomato than tamarind. On top of that, my server was pretty rude. I will be staying away from this place in the future
Peaceful, pleasant, lovely experience. The food was a unique take on pad Thai, and the dessert options are perfect. This restaurant is easy to miss, but don’t ignore this fantastic eatery. You won’t go hungry either, the serving sizes are more than adequate for left overs. Pleasant customer service, makes a great place for a quick bite to eat or even a date night!
I'm a bit conflicted about this place. The service was wonderful and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and the decor and lighting were all nice, in my opinion. The food, however, is very "meh." The menu is too big and complicated, there's typos here and there, and it's not entirely clear what you're getting. For example, I ordered an appetizer of pork gyoza to share and got a bowl of miso soup with it. Nowhere on the menu did it say that the soup came with the gyoza, so I let my partner have it since I wasn't hungry for soup. Then I ordered a loco moco, and on the side of that was macaroni salad. Again, the menu said nothing about that. So, we were a bit overwhelmed with food, haha... It also just didn't taste the best? The beef they used for the loco moco was a bit dry and didn't have much flavor. Honestly, the best thing was the fried rice. I might give them another try, but it'll be a while.
I got served the worst pad Thai in my life. The server was nice though and it was quick. But when she went to go see her “manager” which was her father, she came back and told me she couldn’t do anything after I had asked for a new meal instead. Cheap management. Don’t go here.
We came to Bismarck and stayed the night in a local hotel and did some Doordash. Food was excellent. Sushi was fresher than anywhere I've had in ND. The tuna tataki was outstanding!! The spicy tuna roll was gross. Only until we got to ND did we have the pleasure of having panko bread crumbs inside my spicy tuna roll. Been all over the world, and only here do they do that.

The service was good and the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great I liked it.

Drunk Noodles are worth every penny
Food is amazing, always comes fast. And the servers are very kind.
Best restaurant in Bismarck. Excellent food.
Our favorite place

Sushi is the best I've ever had! The staff is always super friendly!
Such good sushi roles and very good drinks.
We got a phily role, two specials and a valentine. Moscow mule and long island. All was very tasty.
Service was quick, kind and attentive.
Atmosphere was a little dark. Food really made up for that.
Will come back again.
Great spot. Sushi rice was slightly dry but still good eats!
Ordered the special expecting one price, and then was told each roll that I wanted was subject to uncharged, even though on the list, and the sushi rolls weren't great, just ok. Wife had teriyaki chicken and was just ok alright. Service was great, atmosphere was different, just not impressed with the food.
Was a very nice place to sit down and eat. The food was absolutely amazing, I ate the Red Snapper sushi with a side plate of the yellowfin sashimi and I was highly impressed either way how fresh and flavorful it was! Highly recommend!
I had seafood udon for dinner today. My wife went to the hospital. I think they used spoiled seafood. I'll report it to the health bureau
My boyfriend and I love sushi, and we get it everywhere we go. However, every time we get it here it’s not even that good, this time the eel was burnt even—and even though the restaurant was completely empty our sushi took 30m. The server was nice enough but the sushi was so bad it wasn’t even worth it. We regret coming here every time we give it another chance. Kobe’s in town is infinitely better.
Nice atmosphere. Server was pleasant.
I have been eating here for years and have loved it but just this week me and my boyfriend went to eat here and got food poisoning from our raw sushi we ate. We were both puking non stop for 9 hours. I ended up having to go to the ER as it was unbearable. Still days later my body hasn’t recovered and I haven’t been able to eat and still feel sick. This really put my life on pause.
This place is definitely more Thai than anything. Even the Hawaiian food has a hint of peanut to it. I don't recommend the Hawaiian food but also it wasn't gross

This is my favorite sushi place in Bismarck. Quiet, relaxing, and the service is great every time. The food is always great
The special rolls were amazing. Had almost no wait time. Got water before we ordered, appetizers came out in a timely manner, and rolls started appearing as appetizers were finished. Great service. Clean restrooms.
We were seated quickly. Good service. Hot food, yum!
I didnt get good service or good food will not go back there.
Ain’t nothing Hawaiian about this place. Should be considered a Asian spot. I am Hawaiian from Hawaii and don’t like the food only gave two stars for effort. My Mexican wife makes better Hawaiian food then this place. Wheres the Kalua pig or lau lau or poke? something Hawaiian
Fresh hot food!
Delicious and reasonably priced, service could have been better but overall a good experience
Great food. A little $$ for the experience. Place was tired looking. Great service though.
Extremely inappropriate music with language that no one should be playing in any sort of restaurant.
Best Fried Calamari dish in the US.
Sushi is phenomenal. Sashimi amazing.
Tried eel and octopus all in one meal fantastic.
Great food the sushi was great and the pad Thai was great the service was amazing definitely will go again.
Really cool place, one of my favorite spots in Bismarck!
The sushi was ok, but the fried rice was spectacular.
There were 3 adults. We had 2 orders of the Lunch from the Sushi Bar 3 rolls for $14.50 and Sashimi Lunch Plate $14.95. While not the greatest tasting food, it was good, the portion size was decent for lunch, and the service was good. I would eat here again.
Not very clean. Kinda dingy atmosphere
Peaceful, pleasant, lovely experience. The food was a unique take on pad Thai, and the dessert options are perfect. This restaurant is easy to miss, but don’t ignore this fantastic eatery. We ordered from Oahu online and the food tasted bad I mean even the fried rice was sub par.
Great sushi.
Just was all around not great.
This place has the best sushi in Bismarck, in my opinion. The servers are wonderful and always so helpful. I love the rolls here--HIGHLY recommend the Cherry Boston, Valentine, California, King Crunchy, BisMan, etc. :)
Worst experience ever. We went in as a family of 4, with 2 adults and 2 kids. Our children's meals were MIA for at least 40 mins after my spouse and I received our food. I ordered a drink from the bar and that didn't get there until after the kids got their food. We asked for a discount at the end but they refused. We tipped 15% for common decency and ended up paying $90 for the worst service of my life. The waitress also hovered for the last 30 mins of our meal and just would not leave our table. The food was not worth the experience.
It seems to be a repurposed Wendy's location. The decorations and lighting hide that fact inside, but the dining room is still constrained to the original Wendy's design. The gyoza were fresh and perfectly fried, the fried rice was mildly flavored but prepared perfectly, the Pork Katsu was almost as good as I had in Tokyo (although too much, it really only needs to be one cutlet, not two, IMHO). My wife was very happy with her salmon sashimi, and the servers were friendly and efficient. If I were from around there, this would be my standard Chinese/Japanese go-to.
We were quick to be seated and our server was fantastic. Food was phenominal.
Great food! Great Service!
Spending closet to $70 on food to feel my family of 3 and it was all so so bad. I have never been so disappointed in a meal. Chicken rice that tastes and smells like fish, pad Thai that tastes like tomato sauce, and chicken wings that were gummy… it didn’t even appear to be meat. If I could give this meal zero stars I would.
Unique cuisine to have in this area, wonderful selection and just fine tastes all around, relaxing atmosphere too to top off a great meal!
The service was nice. But the beef short ribs were incredibly chewy. Basically rubber. Fried rice was ok. Loved the macaroni salad.
We have a tradition of eating here at least once while we are in town for meetings. The staff have always been friendly and the food/drinks are always as we expect them. We've never had a long wait and overall, it's a great place for a casual meal.
Great sushi and their service was top notch!
Awesome food and very friendly wait staff. I had the Pork Gyoza and Beef Pad See Eu
5 stars, we got crab Rangoon, Katsu chicken salad, pork eggs rolls, sushi for 2 and turtle cheesecake. Highly recommend y’all🫶🏽
Love Hawaiian food. Wish there were more Hawaiian options.
Spam musubi is my favorite. Can eat all day everyday.
The name of the restaurant is very deceiving. Hawaiian BBQ is only a side thought on the menu. While the food tasted good, the restaurant itself felt rundown and cheap.
Thai.
Service was amazing, and the food was delicious! We tried the crab rangoons, pork katsu, and the oahu king crunchy. Highly recommend!
Friendly and fast service. Yummy food. This is my favorite place for sushi
They have excellent gluten free options. Eating out is very hard when Celiac. Always good food and never get sick.
Food is quick and tasty. Staff is friendly and polite.
I had three Sushi rolls all were 5 stars! Pick-up time was exactly what they said it would be.
Besides having to wait 34 minutes for a table, the food tastes like plastic, and the dishes are always dirty.
Great food. Best crab Rangoon in Bismarck period. Sushi is on point, and service is always amazing, friendly and hospitable. We love Oahu any time of day.
I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. I can't wait to go back there.
Traveling across North Dakota can seem barren and lonely. But this restaurant will definitely motivate you to travel through North Dakota!
Pad thai is soooo amazing. Everyone is very kind, cute little place and quite a bit more attentive than other similar restaurants in the area.
It should be illegal to sell good sushi for such a low price. If I remember correctly all rolls are 3 dollars on Monday
Great food
Went for a late lunch. Killer deals between 2-5 T-Th, all day Monday and a huge menu. The food was delicious. Definitely left full!
The best place for sushi in town. The half price menu has me coming back every week and my daughter loves the fried rice!
Really tasty food and good service!
My spouse was excited to get the loco moco, as she had tried it in Maui. I was just ready for some good sushi. We basically enjoyed neither.
The loco moco was very bland (I know, it's supposed to be comfort breakfast food), but this was pretty much tasteless. The sushi was extremely dry, and also with very little taste.
The pork katzu was tasty...our waiter was very friendly...will go again next time I'm in town...
The service was bad and I was over charged because I sent back a drink that didn't taste right.
Such an interesting combination of cuisines in the middle of North Dakota! The portions were super big (must be the Hawaiian influence) and delicious. Seems like plenty of people were taking advantage of the sushi deal of the week and looked happy too.
If you're new - it's an under-stated oasis for sushi. Which always prepared fresh and presented simply...simply delicious! The wait staff has/is always been patient and pleasant. Yes, we've returned frequently. Great for lunch, dinner or a quick bite after work. Conveniently located in the Bismarck area. (It'd be awesome to have one in Mandan too.)
One of the best 🍣 sushi places in town and the prices are decent. The Loco moco is really good too.
I do wish they'd fix the loose toilet seat in the men's room thats been flopping around for the last 2 years though.
In my opinion this is the best Susi in Bismarck. I would eat here every night if I could.
Great food
Never disappointed. Service is sometimes a little slow but worth the wait. Friendly staff. The portions for the lunch menu are ok. The Owahu Macadamia Roll is awesome with coconut and pineapple...almost a dessert sushi!
My friends and I love eating here! I have no complaints, everything is amazing
Adequate but not great, possibly due to short staffing. Pad Thai was a huge disappointment.
We were excited to find pad thai and ceviche in the middle of North Dakota. I understand the ceviche is different from culture to culture. The commonality is that it is based on seafood. This could be called ceviche salad. The vegetables were beautifully cut and presented. There was little flavor and less seafood. We were told that this is the Hawaiian version. Hogwash.
The pad thai was a filling collaboration between ChefBoyarDee and the Lutheran Church ladies aid.
We had asked for not spicy, but it is Thai food. This was underwhelming.
The staff was polite and attentive. They did make an adjustment on our check which was appreciated. They were also adamant that we did not understand Thai food or Hawaiian food.
There are glowing reviews and they no doubt have good dishes. These were not
Absolutely love it here! We eat there about once a month but order pickup one a week! Everything we've tried is amazing! Also amazing and friendly service! Recommend to anyone that likes sushi! 🍣
Food was 10/10! Service was 15/10 even though they were super busy with a dinner rush! Our waiter was working his butt off. Loved the chill atmosphere and everything we had (sushi, rolls, rice, Mahi Mahi). I don't know how they made the rice but it was probably the best I've ever had.
Called in an order from our hotel after a long day of driving. Food took about 20 minutes to be ready but this was on a busy Friday night. I ordered pineapple chicken stir fry and some rolls, it was excellent and I was totally surprised at how good the takeout was.
Always our favorite sushi in Bismarck! Service was super fast and food amazing!
food is good
Great food.
Have been stuck here in a hotel for several days waiting on getting my truck repaired. Was tired of fast food, so I ordered through DoorDash.
Was really good and had great flavor. Will definitely keep in mind the next time I pass through Bismarck.
Just amazing.
About what I would expect for a North Dakota sushi joint.
Tipping is not mandatory in the United States, so there are no laws that govern how much gratuity should be paid. That means it is generally up to you to decide how much of a tip to leave a server at a restaurant. But its very disappointing when your server questions why your do or don't tip.
The food is amazing however inattentive servers or ones who make many mistakes and you nicely correct then they look at you like you have 10 heads then starat speaking to their co workers in their language and you know in your stomach their talking about you.
Favorite sushi place, very affordable for lunch. Always have great servers too.
Excellent food and service
Server was attentive and friendly, and the food was incredible.
Teriyaki chicken was dry and very bland. The macaroni salad has an oniony taste. The rice was good. The proportion size was small for the $10 I paid. I won't be back to this place again.
Love it here
Definitely my favorite spot in Bismarck/Mandan hands down. The service is always spot on, quick, and great. The food is never a miss, especially with the Hawaiian items. My go to are the BBQ beef or the shortribs, followed my the ninjago roll. Their drinks are also great. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to have delicious food, drinks, and an all around great dining experience.
Went here for lunch and the food was awesome. Recommend the Drunken Noodles.
Delicious
AMAZING SUSHI!!!! and the Rice flavor is so rich, ask for the "yum yum" Sauce with your rice. Its amazing. Great Flavor and the servers are really nice. Every monday, my buddies and I go there for lunch on 1/2 price day and we love it!
Got the Hawaiian BBQ chicken. Where was the bbq flavor? Was all dark meat, flavorless, on top of lettuce with chicken juice at the bottom. Was luke warm. Fried rice is no good and the macaroni salad was overlaoded with mayo. Had the green and peace roll which was good but very small. Miso spup had no flavor. All was very much over priced. This was the first and last time I will be there.
A bit pricey but good food
Phenomenal food and service everytime. It’s our favorite place in town
Sushi for Two was good. Mostly a raw selection. Service and atmosphere was also good. But the pad thai tasted like spaghetti sauce gone wrong.
A unique treasure in Bismarck. Love the Loco Moko and Spam musubi.
I eat here about once a week, the food Is really great. I usually get take out orders, I've gotten beyond frustrated at this point. I always have to check the bag before I leave, every single order without fail, they "forget" to put something in the bag. Weather it's a side of sauce, which I paid for, or whole sides/meals/appetizers. Last week they "forgot" 2 sides of fried rice and pork gyoza appetizer. I live 15 miles away from this place and I've learned to look In the bag BEFORE I leave the parking lot. I don't order door dash from here because the order is never right and there's no way to fix it. When I speak with them on the phone there's such a language barrier, it took them 10 minutes to "explain" to me how I could get my side of fried rice. It's just a bummer because there's not many sushi places in town and I gotta deal with this issue EVERY time, I'm not exaggerating when I say EVERY time either. At this point I don't even know if they're actually "forgetting" these items, it feels like it's being done on purpose, to save them money. But I don't know. I'm sure I'm not the only person that's having this issue.
You can miss them for the two restaurants next door and the windows being mostly covered. Entrance is on the side, the exit kind of looks like it should be the entrance. BUUUT, sides that wonderful place with a comfy feel. Great sushi, haven't tried anything else yet. Probably a kicking night spot.
Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and the Pad Thai (medium spice). I’ve had teriyaki jerky that’s more moist and tender than what I got. Literally the driest chicken I’ve ever eaten. The Pad Thai was one big ball of slime that was so bland I got worried I had caught Covid again.
Everything looked delish on the menu and reviews were great. So we drove 2hrs, staff was friendly! However, eating $100 worth of sushi including the salmon lovers left more to be desired. tasted kind of stale and bland, & the salmon was not high grade and you could tell. Surely could give the place another try but maybe order from their Thai/Hawaiian selections next time
The pineapple fried rice with shrimp and wings was awesome. I wish I had stayed one more night to try something different.
First time trying was really good food
Delicious food and great service. Sushi, Hawaiian and Thai options. Fresh and flavorful. Kona Big Wave beer on tap!
The food was great
Sushi for 2 was amazing. Service was great!
Dudley is #1. Great food. Great atmosphere. Love the staff. My wife and I love to eat here on dates. Do yourself a favor and try the dessert roll after the meal.
It's was okay
Good deals on Monday. Tasty rolls!
Also good.. this could be my second favorite.
Amazing sushi for a great price on the weekends.
Too expensive for what you get. I ordered eel sushi and got 2 pieces for 6.75. Won't go back that's for sure.
Food is always good. Tony is a great bartender love this place.
Very good dining
