Debated on trying this place for months but was not disappointed. Food was tremendous, service was top notch and the spice was perfect. My wife and I can recommend the Thai fried rice and Pad Pak Ruman! This is a must now in the rotation for our family. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

The food was excellent. It made me want to fly back to Bangkok. Service was friendly and fast. I had some great TomYom soup, yes it was spicy. My wife had they pad Thai, she loved it. If your in the mood for Thai, this is your place.

She was by herself, so she was handling phone orders, walk-ins, and dine-ins but was patient, willing to answer questions from a first-time visitor, and didn't make us feel like we'd inconvenienced her. And the food.....deeeelicious! I could eat those spring rolls all day! I'm vegan and had the pineapple fried rice, no egg. NO problem. My daughter wanted green curry without the zucchini. NO problem! And she took her time to explain the spice level for the different sauces for the wings, which my nephews said were great! We will be back!!

The food here is amazing! It has a good heat and tastes delicious. The Kimchi Steamed Dumplings and Pad Thai are a must try.

Arrived at 6:30 to a half empty restaurant (counter, not table service) and was told it would be over an hour for our food. What would cause that? Catering pans being made without proper staff to support? Turned around and left.

This thai food is exceptional. Far better than any thai restaurant in gastonia and even Charlotte. I get their Pad Pak Ruam with tofu at least once a week. The staff is so friendly and they all speak fluent English so it's nice to be able to ask them questions about any dish. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

This food is the most amazing Asian food in Shelby! I got the red curry with chicken, and it was AMAZING… make sure that you know the spice levels there are VERY spicy. So if you like things medium, go for the mild, etc. My sister got the garlic butter noodles and those are GREAT as well. The place was very clean, and the people there were super nice.

Just very well served and authentic Thai dishes. To give anything other than 5 stars would be completely unfair. Also got to mention the consistency, not a hit or miss and always can count on the dishes prepared well each time. My family orders take out once a week and we are stuck on their Green Curry (medium) and their Pad Thai (medium). We’re addicted, sorry. Say hello to Robin when you visit. Super nice and welcoming.

Small but very good Thai Restaurant. Just be aware, that their spice level is hotter than most other Thai places. A medium heat is plenty hot for me, and I like spicy food!

I hate leaving bad reviews and perhaps my experience was a one-off bad experience, but this was the worst pad thai I've ever had. I travel a lot around the country and frequently get pad thai, and this was simply the worst bland tasting pad thai I've ever had. No sweet, no sour, no salty, no spice, just bland with a weird burnt taste, like burned chicken or something strange. I would have returned but was eating with others and didn't want them to question their food or not enjoy the experience. I ordered medium spicy and had no spice at all. Presentation of the dish brought me in after seeing on Google but was a big disappointment. Of my two friends, one said his dish was great, the other said average/good. Maybe I had bad luck. Prices were reasonable and portions were decent. It might be worth giving a try if you like thai food, perhaps it was just bad food prep that night.

I own a small business in Charlotte and I was recommended to this restaurant from a customer of mine for being the best takeout in Shelby! Man were they RIGHT! I am obsessed. I get the Pad Thai and it’s the best I have had in a long time! The family who runs this place is so nice and the lady in the front has been nothing but kind whenever we come for takeout.

My husband and I will definitely be making this our go to takeout! It’s a must visit.

Some of the most flavorful Pad Thai I’ve ever consumed, and the Thai Tea is excellent! Customer service was on point and everything seems reasonably priced.
This is a hidden gem in Shelby and I recommend giving it a try if you’re new to Thai cuisine or if you’re just looking to have some Thai food local. I will be going back soon to try the curry as well.

When there yesterday afternoon. Wondering how good it could be. After checking the menu we decided and placed an order to go. some pork dumplings, fried rice with pineapple and cashews and of course I had to have a Tom Kha soup (my favorite soup). Waooo everything was so delicious....We recommend this place 100%.

This place is great! The most authentic Thai place I’ve found since moving out by Shelby. The woman working the register and taking phone orders was nice and friendly. I got our food to go and had no issues with it - it was hot and fresh, just as if we had eaten it there.

Khop khun is great. Haven't had a bad experience here yet. I've tried several items of their menu and was satisfied with how it tasted and the portion everytime.

If you're looking for pho and don't want to drive too far out, their pho will do just fine. Solid pho.

So good, so authentic, it's just awesome

First time trying this place out. Took my kids shopping around the center and decided to grab lunch to go. We got some chicken wings, pad thai, pad see ew, and some bubble tea (strawberry, Thai tea, coconut, and taro). The owners were so nice and gave my toddler some bubble stickers.

Fast forward, we came back after J4 hoping to get some bubble teas since my kiddos have been asking. Sad to know the other lady owner has moved and won’t be opening her shop anytime soon. Guess we will go support her when she open her shop in September.

It is a small location with only a few tables but the people are nice, the food is good, and the food is authentic. I think most people order Togo, we ate there and everyone had food left to take home. They have a sign warning about the spice levels, definitely take the advice!

Wonderful family owned business that was so needed in Shelby. While the dining room is small, the food and wonderful service are top notch. The Pad Thai and Yellow Curry are two of our favorites.
The many flavors and combos of Boba Tea are fantastic! Grab the Brown Sugar Milk Tea or Peach with Blueberry popping pearls... so good! Shelby is lucky to have this place and it's a welcome change from the average mediocre restaurants all over town.

This place is freaking amazing! 1st time here because ease so many people in and out of this place. We arrived at 7:50 not realizing that they were about to close, they told us to order anyways. We got it to go and sat and enjoyed the food and omg! Totally coming back!!!

Drunken Noodles are very delicious. Be careful - I ordered medium spice and it hit about 80% of my spice meter. They even have a sign warning you that it's going to be hotter than you anticipate. I will definitely be back to try other dishes.

We are very lucky to have this place open on this side of town. The food is great and the people who own it are wonderful. Authentic Thai place. (As good as it gets in the states) not fine dining but we really needed a takeout place on this side of town that was worth going to and this one is amazing! Now we just need a decent pizza and we won't have to drive to another town for takeout!

I have eaten here a few times already, so this review is a little overdue. The food is amazing every time! I recommend the Thai basil fried rice and the pho. The chicken wings are pretty good, too. The staff is very friendly and although the restaurant can get a little crowded, the atmosphere is still cozy. I've had Thai food from a lot of restaurants but this one has the best food of them all.

The owner was so sweet to accommodate my large group of 8, she let us move the tables around. We ordered appetizers first while waiting to decide what to eat. All the appetizers were absolutely amazing. Eggs rolls, summer rolls, shumai and fried dumplings. I ordered the pad thai with chicken. The ingredients were fresh and tasty everything was cook to order we enjoyed it all. I will say… one advice is mild and medium spicy is as hot you should go. My husband ordered spicy and called it extra spicy because he couldn’t handle the heat. Other than that we had a great meal and enjoyed our evening there.

Small but extremely clean restaurant and dining area with meals served to the table in to go plastic containers with a plastic fork. Food was delicious and authentic, and menu selections were of wide variety! A real plus for Shelby!

The service was fast and the lady was kind over the Pho e and at pick up. we had the Pho and a new dish with fried egg, rice, and chicken I think R3 on the menu.. The whole meal was delicious.

Overall the food tasted good but I definitely didnt find the experience to be as good as I was hoping for. I ordered two entrees, one mild and one medium. The one ordered medium had no spice at all the one the ordered mild was very spicy, so much that I (who ordered the medium) could barely eat it. Also the portions were inconsistent, one order had a fully filled take out trey that I would expect for paying $13. And the other was hardly half-filled and the noodles had clearly sat for a while as they were clumped together and less than warm. I wont say that you shouldn’t visit, but do so with caution and check your food for quality before leaving the building.

It's really hard to describe how great the food is, atmosphere and willingness to deliver the best culinary experience possible. The food? Stellar! The authenticity is spot on. I can go on and on. The spice levels are true, so be advised. I love spicy, so no problem for me. I haven't tried the Thai hot spice level yet, but I will my next visit. I've been 5 times, so this review is overdue. I should mention that not only can you get amazing Thai food, but you can also get awesome beverages and desserts in the same restaurant. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air from the monotony and I will continue to get my grub on. Mmmm... Starting to get hungry. See you there! 🤤

First time visiting it, very excited to have a Thai place in town. Had a massaman curry, though the flavor was a less intense and complex than I would think when it comes to a massaman, they've only been open a short while and are probably trying to keep costs down. Look forward to their continued business!

Today was our first try with Khop Khun and it didn’t disappoint. The food was prepared to order, very hot (both in temperature and spice — which we are fine with!) and excellent. We had one of the soups and a noodle dish, all of which was excellent. Keep in mind you will wait just a bit for prepared-to-order food. We will be back.

I haven’t tried the food here yet, but the boba tea was fantastic. Me and my mom stopped in after she read about this place in the Shelby Star. I’m from Charlotte so I’ve tried tons of boba tea from many places. This was by far top 3 I’ve ever had. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with black pearls and my mom got the toffee mocha cold brew. Both were just top notch. They even let my mom taste test her drink before serving her to make sure she was happy with the sweetness level. The staff was amazing and were very personable. We will be back every time I visit my mom in Shelby, which is often.

Khop Khun Taste of Thailand in Shelby, NC is an exceptional restaurant that truly stands out in the community. The unique flavors and authentic cuisine make it a must-try for anyone in the area.

Though the service may be overwhelmed at times, the staff are kind and patient, and the food is well worth the wait. Our last order included the chicken Pad Thai and vegetable spring rolls, both of which were made from scratch and had delicious, bold flavors.

My partner, who has lived in Charlotte for most of his life, even said it was some of the best Pad Thai he's ever had. To fully enjoy your experience at Khop Khun Taste of Thailand, it's recommended to call in an hour before dining/getting it to-go.

Just please be kind and patient with the staff. You won't regret it!

Tasty Thai food, friendly folks. Crowded small rudimentary dining area shows that it is intended to be primarily a take -out business model. No table service or food servers, food is in to-go containers with a single plastic fork and a paper napkin. Drinks are in bottles, no cups or ice is available. Prices are $10 - $15 range for most entrees with appetizers and desserts available for additional charges, which is comparable with full service dining options in the area that offer a much higher quality dining experience, albeit not Thai food. Restrooms are available, strictly single occupancy, reasonably clean with hot water but no touch free fixtures.
Overall, I found the food, though fresh and well prepared, to be diminished by a dining experience more suited for burgers, fries or cheap pizza.
