Spectacular Thai restaurant in Port Washington. The owners and the staff are so nice and the service was fantastic. We loved the food. The Pad Thai left us wanting another order, it was that good. Some of our other faves: green papaya salad, fried chicken wings, duck rolls, bacon wrapped scallops and the whole red snapper. Will definitely be a frequent customer for dine-in and takeout.
Had a wonderful dinner this evening. The quality of food, the service, and the ambience were lovely. For our starters we ordered tropical shrimp, chive bumblebee and curry puffs (best bite of the night!). For our entrees we got the railroad fried rice with sweet pork sausage and the crying tiger with spicy, limey, Thai sauce. I also got the Thai iced tea to drink and it comes with the cutest little bear ice cube. I didn’t have room for dessert but definitely have my eye on some other things on the menu for next time.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Prainam Thai Restaurant and Bar, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff made me feel welcome. The ambience is fantastic—warm, inviting, with modern touch. It’s the perfect blend of elegance and comfort, making it ideal for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Now, let’s talk about the food—it was phenomenal! Every dish was packed with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. And their Thai iced tea Bear concept? Simply adorable! It added such a fun and unique touch to the dining experience.
If you’re a fan of Thai cuisine or just looking for a great new spot to try, Prainam Thai Restaurant and Bar should be at the top of your list. Can’t wait to go back and explore more of their menu!
Fantastic Food and service! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent from start to finish. Both the owner and our servers made us feel genuinely welcome, taking the time to check in and ensure we had everything we needed. They even recommended a few dishes,(Grilled squid and Massaman Roti) which turned out to be our favorites. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy the meal. Can’t wait for our next visit!
Since moving to Suffolk county it’s been difficult to find great Asian food especially Thai food however the search is over!!! My husband and I saw this restaurant in Newsday and decided to give it a shot and we are so happy we did! We found “our spot”. It’s so hard to find a good date night place has great food and even better service! Well worth the drive into Port Washington. My husband had the pork belly and I had the shrimp Pad Thai both were so delicious that I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes!
If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine in New York, look no further! I drove all the way from New Jersey after my friends couldn't stop raving about this place. The grilled squid was tender and perfectly seasoned, while the crab meat fried rice was rich and flavorful—just like the dishes I enjoy on my visits to Bangkok. Their Lychee Martini was the perfect refreshing complement to our meal. For a taste of genuine Thai flavors, this restaurant is a must-visit. Staffs are attentive and friendly as well. Totally recommended!
We had a fantastic dining experience here, savoring the crispy duck curry, kaprow Gai, and refreshing Thai iced tea. Every dish was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and well-balanced. The mango with sticky rice was the perfect sweet ending. We can’t wait to come back for more!
Food is worth the price. I had river prawn pad thai from the seasonal menu specials whih is superb!
Exceptional food, friendly and accommodating service and cool ambience. Highly recommend!
We live in the neighborhood and have ordered out from here several times. This was the first time we dined in. It was totally worth it. Prainam has some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had—and definitely the best on Long Island. Dining in is worth it for the special drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Don’t miss the Thai iced tea!
This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We made a reservation in advance and were assured there was availability for six on a heavy snowing day and that we can come in at the scheduled time. It was snowing heavily, and the weather was freezing. Upon arrival, the waitress seated us at the table right next to the door. I politely asked twice if we could be moved to one of the open tables further inside, but the waitress insisted they were reserved.
Our party consisted of six people, but the table we were given only fit five. When we requested a more appropriate table once again, the waitress dismissed our concern, saying a five-seater would be fine for six people. It was incredibly cramped, but we decided to "live with it".
When the waitress asked for our drink orders, we requested hot water due to the cold weather. However, we were told they don’t serve hot water—only iced or sparkling water. If we wanted the hot water, we have to buy a pot of jasmine tea (this by the way never happens in ANY restaurant we go to, they serve hot water even if it is asked in the summer). Reluctantly, we ordered regular water and specifically asked for no ice.
Here comes the good part, a family of four, who had also made a reservation, arrived and said "we called earlier." Despite there being other available tables for four away from the door, they were given a spacious eight-seater. Meanwhile, we were left at a table that was too small and uncomfortably close to the cold air from the door while my children were feeling super cold.
As a result, this is the first time we EVER left a restaurant. The waitress was not considerate and we drove far to try out the food. This experience was frustrating, disrespectful, and completely disappointing.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Responding to Owner. I want to first say, no this is not a made up account.
From your encouragement, I will start writing more positive to whom deserves it. To counter your statements, first, the restaurant was not full when we got there. There was 4 empty tables. Secondly, we DID call and ask for a reservation, your team could have said "we do not have space", but said "we have room for 6". We called 30 minutes before the time, I would consider this a confirmed reservation if we were told "just come in". Third, the seat your server sat us in DEFINITELY not meant to fit 6. How could it sit 6 if there was a couple that sat besides us? Help me make sense of that. You stated we stormed out, we POLITELY asked to be seated elsewhere 4 times by our party, does that not count as giving it a chance? Pull the cameras and see where 4 that came later sat. Good that you also agree it didn't make sense.
Great service and delicious food 🥘.
Great authentic Thai place that just recently open! Food and service were top notch. Friendly and kind staff. Been here 3 times already and every time it’s getting harder and harder to get a table. Word is getting out. Recently I tried take out and it was still excellent. Dont sleep on the chicken larb and papaya salad. Photos don’t do enough justice!

Over priced, not very authentic Thai food. Dishes tasted salty, shrimps in my drunken noodles dish didn’t taste fresh. Do not recommend.
Had Boat Noodle soup- beef. Very sweet and very salty. Had crab fried rice also heavy on the salt. Fried tofu bland. And spring rolls which were good. Not sure what kind of vibe this place is going for. Christmas music playing like we were in K-mart. Attentive staff for sure. Went on Sunday at 7 pm. Empty. Maybe others have caught on that Thai food should not be $27 an entree and not that good.
If you never try it, what are you doing!!
Give it a try!
I ordered from here last week and was thoroughly impressed! I tried two chicken dishes and the Pad Thai, and everything was absolutely delicious. This place is definitely going to become one of my go-to spots for takeout.

Visited this restaurant in Port Washington based upon the high ratings. There is no way this restaurant deserves a 4.9 rating! The curry salmon was so dry from being overcooked that you had no choice but to eat it with the gravy just to make it edible. The broth for the crispy duck soup was so concentrated that we’ll be drinking gallons of water just to clear the sodium out of our system. The worst dish of them all was the Tom Yum noodle soup which I promise you was NOT Tom Yum soup. It was hands down an abomination of what Tom Yum soup should be. This restaurant’s version had a bland tasteless soup base and the seafood consisted of tiny dried shrimp (not for eating but more for fishy flavoring), two fish balls and some extremely dry overcooked pieces of chicken or pork or other unknown meat. Shameful. I would not recommend this restaurant. Sorry to be so brutally honest, but the food is just so subpar.
This restaurant is amazing ! The atmosphere is so welcoming, the staff is very attentive to your needs. The food is amazing! The portions are alot. It was my first time eating Thai food and Prinam set the bar high. The owner, Oakar was there and he was great! He stopped at tables to make sure all his customer's needs were being met. He also helped his staff out! I will definitely be going back to try other dishes out. GIVE PRINAM THAI RESTAURANT OUT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
What a lovely restaurant. Peaceful and beautiful setting, twinkling lights. Delicious food, beautifully presented, reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly, attentive in serving and chatting with us. Highly recommend everyone to come and dine here.
Why are the prices so, so expensive? $22 for fried rice? It could be great but don't get why we are seeing Manhattan+ prices in Port Washington.

Are you guys hiring??
Yum yum yum
Great addition to Port Washington! Food was fantastic and the staff were amazing! I tried the Panang Curry Beef and I loved it. Definitely coming back.
Beautiful, classy decor. Amazing flavor food and portion sizes. Very friendly staff. Will come back very soon!!! 10/10 recommend!!!
Fabulous new addition to our town. We went for an early dinner 5:30 and it was crowded already. Chicken basil and green curry chicken was full of flavor Highly recommend trying
We had dinner there Friday night not knowing it was their first night, soft opening. All the dishes were great, came out fresh and hot. Can’t wait to go back, hopefully they get their liquor license soon! If I can suggest, maybe omit the dried shrimp in the papaya salad. It’s not needed and was too hard to chew.
Only had take out a couple times so far. Food has been excellent. Fresh, flavorful, and interesting. Each curry we tried had a nice unique flavor, all delicious. Also the chicken basil stir fry was excellent. Can’t wait to dine-in. Good stuff.
Excellent curries and great customer service! Have only done take out but has been fantastic every time!!
Small but great!!!
Beautiful new Thai restaurant for Port Washington. My friend and I had their lunch special, everything was delicious. We had the spicy chicken friend rice and the Thai green curry. Great portion sizes for a $17 lunch. We will definitely come back and try other dishes
Fantastic thai food 😋😋 especially red snapper with garlic sauce.
This is one restaurant you truly want to go to. The menu has many excellent choices not often found in typical Thai restaurants. We began with Massuman Curry with roti, which is truly delicious. For our main courses we thoroughly enjoyed the Drunken Spaghetti Seafood and the Chicken Fried Rice. Truly delicious. The decor is quite exceptional too, and the music is most enjoyable and quiet enough to enjoy conversation. The staff is most attentive as well along with the owner. Don't miss this place!
Every dish we ordered came out great. Staff were very polite and nice. Highly recommended.
Delicious food and excellent service!! Our server discussed each dish with us to make sure it was what we wanted, and our meal was fantastic! Over the course of our dinner, the full staff came over to make sure we were enjoying and did not need anything. Recommend 100% and reserve in advance, as they fill quickly!
Spectacular Thai restaurant in Port Washington. The owners and the staff are so nice and the service was fantastic. We loved the food. The Pad Thai left us wanting another order, it was that good. As someone who has spent a bit of time in Thailand, and enjoys authentic and Thai Fusion food, this place is a gift to Port Washington. I totally enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.
Yesterday was the first day we ordered from this restaurant and the Thai food was amazing. Definitely the best in Port Washington for sure. I do see a few negative reviews on here and it seems like they’re all popping up within the last 24 hours most likely they’re from competition they have a good reason to be worried because this food is the best. I’ve tasted in a long time. Please keep up the great work, thank you.

I had the pleasure of dining at prainam for lunch today, and I’m thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the service was attentive and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
For drinks, I tried the Guava Pina Colada and the Thai Iced Tea with a tea scoop—both were expertly prepared and refreshing, setting the tone for a great meal.
As for the food, it was absolutely exceptional. The roti was perfectly crispy on the outside, yet soft and tender inside. The squid was cooked to perfection—flavorful, tender, and complemented by a beautiful balance of spices. The papaya salad was fresh, tangy, and had the perfect level of spice.
For the main dishes, the duck curry was rich and aromatic, with a depth of flavor that was simply outstanding. The fried rice was fluffy, light, and a great accompaniment to the dishes. The Drunken Noodles were a highlight—well-seasoned, with the ideal balance of savory and spicy notes, and the noodles had just the right texture.Everything served at the right temperature.
Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend Prainam Thai for anyone looking for authentic, high-quality Thai cuisine paired with excellent service.
Excellent Thai food with even better service (if that is even possible), and a lovely local spot for those in Port Washington. Our meal was delicious and plentiful enough for both of us to bring home leftovers. The non-alcoholic drink was scrumptious and I recommend that you go there and enjoy a wonderful experience.
We tried it last night during the soft open and it was fantastic food and great service. It is a great addition to Port restaurants.
The food was delicious. Such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. My advice would be to disregard the few recent 1 star reviews that were left as they seem to be coming from a fake profile or a profile made by a local competing business. Grateful that you’re here!
We dined at Prainam Thai last night for the first time. Every single thing we tasted was so flavorful and the portions spot on! The wait staff and service were excellent. We can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful cozy spot in Port Washington for an upscale Thai meal. Food was delicious! We enjoyed steamed dumplings, spring rolls, chicken in a ginger sauce and salmon in a tamarind sauce. Highly recommend! Will def be back!
Food is absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful addition to our town.
Food was amazing....cant wait to go back
Great new spot in town! Now we don’t need to order from out of town!
Best pad thai in town. Closest to authentic thai food you can get around here. Welcoming staff and great service. Will be back!
Loved the pineapple fried rice and green curry! We ordered a lot of food during the soft opening, and my family was very happy with it. Even though one dish was missing, they handled the refund quickly. Will definitely visit again next time!
Food was excellent!
Loved it!
Thai new spot is banging the grill 🐙 point 10/10
We had a fantastic dining experience here, savoring the crispy duck curry, kaprow Gai, and refreshing Thai iced tea. Every dish was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and well-balanced. The mango with sticky rice was the perfect sweet ending. We can’t wait to come back for more!
Beautiful decore, good food.
I’ve been here second time very impressed with the foods and service last time but today I took a change to have things that I think everyone must have on the table and you will be back for sure. We start with the appetizer Scallop Wrapped in Bacon, is so good also we get CRISPY DUCKS BASIL everyone love Thai basil sauce and this is right among spicy so tasty and we order FRIED WHOLE RED SNAPPER with salty garlic sauce OMG the fish is crispy the sauce is flavorful delicious. Everyone pls Do not missed a fried whole fish! I will be back with my friends again.
Delicious food and good service
Excellent food, reasonable prices, very friendly service. I highly recommend
Excellent food and the place was very clean.
I know it’s early days, so there is hopefully a chance to improve.
We did takeaway, and here are my own personal thoughts -
I enjoy spicy foods, but “medium spice” was extremely heavy-handed so the green curry had to be tossed, as there was no flavor, only the feeling of my mouth burning.
The 4 piece spring rolls only came with 3 pieces.
The chef’s special pork belly dish was just an intense salt bomb.
The prices are also astronomically high for Thai food, even at the PW markup. Unfortunately, the $77 we paid for two apps and two entrees would’ve been better spent if I had driven further out of town in search of areas with more competition.
Lastly, this is not a gas station.
I expect the same prices at a restaurant whether I pay in cash or with a credit card…seriously, it’s a bad look.
I wish this restaurant good luck, and hopefully they will be open long enough to get a liquor license, but we won’t be dining here again.
It did look busy last night though, so there’s that.
the best thai food
The best Thai restaurant in town. The food was amazing! My server was the best with great customer service!
I went to this restaurant this evening this place is very nice decoration and the foods very tasty. I ordered Rad Na mixed seafood it is very delicious. Highly recommend.
Delicious food great service, be back soon to try their cocktails
Love the vibe.Nice ambiance and excellent service.
Such a wonderful thai place in long Island.Good drink,Great food and homey service.be back soon.
Okay we found our new favorite Thai place! Didn’t know they were already open so we didn’t make a reservation. We were disappointed we couldn’t get a table but the owner was so sweet so we decided to take the food to go. Happy we did! The best duck I have had in a long time and it tasted so fresh and authentic!! Price is so reasonable too! Whole duck dish for $36!!!! Wanted to try the whole snapper too but didn’t think it would taste good taking it to go. Can’t wait to try that on our next visit!
Omg you have to try this Thai place if u haven’t! Me and my coworkers went to try it out and we have to admit it’s the best Thai food we’ve had. Our fav was the red snapper but my personal favorite is the jumbo shrimp pad thai. Also, don’t forget to try out their Thai iced tea drink that comes in teddy bear! It’s so cute, your gram will thank you😉 Will definitely go back to try out other dishes!
The biggest problem with this place is deciding between the pineapple or crab fried rice.
My fiancé and I were eager to try this new Thai spot in Port. We went on a Thursday as soon as they opened around 4:40 PM. We were the only ones there but it was still a vibe. They had images of islands in Thailand displayed on TV and vibey music.
The food was fantastic! We had the Curry Puffs, Tom Yum Soup and Drunken Noodles. Everything was authentic and delicious.
Excited to be back and try more off their menu. I’m not sure they have their liquor license yet as they didn’t offer alcoholic drinks. Not a deal breaker, they have some interesting mocktails! Highly recommend.
PS: Prainam Thai is having a grand opening this Saturday for anyone eager to check it out!
I’m a picky eater who never really enjoyed Thai food but WOW - I’ve never had food this good. I had the papaya salad, Tom yum soup, snapper, and duck and it was ALL AMAZING. Food was amazing, service was amazing, atmosphere was amazing, and all at such a great price. I will be coming back again and again
We have had our fair share of Thai food in Long Island, but mostly we venture back into Queens for our Thai food fix. We might not need to do that anymore. We came here during their soft opening week and we'll be back. The flavors are very authentic, and the spice level is real too. We received very large portions, and very meaty. My son, who is usually a picky eater, approved of the fried rice, which they accommodated by not adding the veggies he didn't like. My crispy pork belly was on point and good level of spice. We rarely eat Pad Thai, but we had it here and it was great. We're looking forward to come back when their full menu is out!
I had an amazing experience!
The food was fresh and flavorful, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious meal and fantastic service.
I’d recommend the guava pina colada and DEFINITELY try the papaya salad!!!
Can’t wait to go back!
