Definitely a more casual vibe than the original location in Wilmington. But the food and service are excellent. I order regularly from this location and also the original restaurant. I can't tell the difference, as a take-out customer. The green curry with tofu is amazing. The crab angels are crunchy and have a large amount of cream cheese/crab mix stuffed inside. I've never had a bad dish from here.

We visited the original Indochine restaurant in Wilmington and loved it! So when we spotted the Indochine - Express restaurant in Leland (near Walmart) we had to check it out.

We loved the intimacy of this smaller restaurant and enjoyed the same delicious and healthy food as at the "Mother Ship". Since many Express patrons get their food to go, we and our friends find it easy to get tables for groups of 6-8 without a wait. The staff is friendly, kind and helpful. The food portions are generous and tasty. Why eat traditional fast food, when such tasty vegan and traditional fare is just a few dollars more than "a burger and fries"? Eat healthy and leave happy!

Sheena deserves a raise. We came in for the first time a few days ago and were seated by her to dine in. She was awesome from the beginning and gave great recommendations off the menu. She had such a great personality. We will be back many times just because of her energy and the delicious food. Thank you, sheena for the great service and recommendations. We will be back soon.

I finally got to try Indochine Express here in Leland. I've been to the one near Independence mall (and their sister restaurants).

Small place where you order at the counter. I had the lemongrass pork with fried rice and my friend ordered one of the specials, as chicken with broccoli.

My dish came out pretty quickly. My friend waited an extra 10 minutes for her, which we thought was odd.

Our food was just okay, really nothing special. The fried rice didn't seem freshly made, as it was one thick clump that probably sat in a pot for a while.

I guess I prefer Indochine Restaurant and Cafe Chinois over the Express.

I'll give it another try in the future.

EDIT: DH and I had lunch today (30 December 2023) and the food was very good.

We started with the Cha Gio rolls. There were 6 to the order and reasonably priced. They reminded us of the rolls we had at a Korean restaurant back in Maryland. Nice crunchy wraps. They were served with lettuce to wrap the rolls.

I ordered the Pad Kra Pao, beef with basil. DH ordered the Pad Thai. Both were huge portions and well prepared. We have plenty of leftovers to enjoy.

You order at the counter. The person that took our order was very friendly. She brought our food out quickly to our table.

This is a small place and nicely decorated.

The only thing I didn't like (yes, I should have asked) was that were were not given plates. Maybe they do more take out than sit down diners.

Tried today...it was the start of lunch, and the food was delicious, and the service was fast. I ordered off of the Indochine Lunch menu...it was perfect portion for the middle of the day.

I was door dashing tonight, and i went in like normal I said I’m here to pick up this ladies order, the African American citizen(I don’t know her name) said ok it will be with you in just one moment. Fast forward 2 minutes went by she said “you her for this customer” I said “yes sir” by accident because I was looking into my phone texting someone then I said “sorry I meant ma’am she proceeded to hold the bag and refused to give it to me till I said “yes ma’am” I plainly said “sorry” yall need new people not karens working

We would order at least twice a week when they first opened. We loved their food, especially the curry. Now the curry is more of a soup, my Thai basil chicken always has overcooked dry chicken lacking in flavor. I love Thai hot so I went to mild thinking maybe there would be more flavor. It’s not authentic like the original location on market st. Not sure what has changed but it’s not worth the money. We even tried different days of the week in case it was a specific cook, well that wasn’t the case sadly :(

I've tried this location a few times. It's still a no for me. The pad thai is bland, has little to what's seems like no tamarind sauce. Plus, it's oily. The chicken most often is tough. I've tried a couple of other dishes. Same issues. Overall, Just not worth the price point. And even at a lower price point, it wouldn't be worth it.

I placed my order online at 5.20pm. Got a text at 6.10 to say everything was ready. Showed up at 6.25 to be told they didn’t have my order. Went to check my phone and they “found the order in the system” but it was showing complete. The lady did rush it through and I was given a $20 gift card even though it was Door Dash’s “fault”. Fix the system! I had 10 people waiting at my house and I had timed everything just right but I left my house at 6pm and got home at 7pm for something that should have taken 20 minutes. Very disappointed.

This little restaraunt is one of my family's favorite stops for authentic Thai food. It's the smaller version of the full-sized Indochine so famous in Wilmington, NC. There are fewer items on the menu selection at Express, but everything is always just as fresh, flavorful and delicious. (Our favorite is the Pad Thai.)

The staff is top notch! Always friendly and helpful, even when it's near closing time. In a world where mediocre service and lack-luster food seems to be the norm, head to Indochine Express where you're business is appreciated and the food is amazing.

Service was quick and good. Pad thai noodles were not good. Should have tried the fried rice instead. Pork pot stickers are worth a try.

I went to the original Indochine in Wilmington and the food was solid there. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken which is a staple in Thai food. At the Leland location, the yellow curry was very bland and watery. The chicken was very dry. For $16? They should be ashamed of themselves. I really hope the owners see this review and find a way to figure out how to improve the quality at this location. I ordered the same food (yellow curry) from both locations and the Leland location does not come close to Wilmington but they charge the same price. No thanks. Never again.

Food was mushy. No veggies. Very very very “one-note”. Minimal flavor. Added my own ingredients after trying it. No saving it. Flavorless. Go to the real Indochine in Wilmington. Always yummy.

We wanted to go to Six Happiness but it is closed on Monday which we forgot. So we thought we’d try Indochine Express since we love the original in Wilmington. Unfortunately it’s not the same except for the prices but you don’t get table service or plates or real forks and knives. No salt and pepper except for the little packet in with the plastic ware. I don’t think they have decided if they want to be strictly takeout or a restaurant. The food was ok at best. No comparison to Wilmington. Don’t waste your time drive about 15 more minutes and go to the original Indochine.
Or better yet, go to Six Happiness where the food and prices are much better.

Tried today...it was the start of lunch, and the food was delicious, and the service was fast. I ordered off of the Indochine Lunch menu...it was perfect portion for the middle of the day.

Fast forward 3rd visit I tried something new chicken yum yum it's absolutely delicious always a hit for me.

Customer service is a 1/10 and the chicken wings are HUGEEEE. I wish I would have taken a picture before throwing them in the trash. Suggestion… list the wings as JUMBO! The beef fried rice saved our experience fortunately.

I had a terrible experience with my online order. I used to eat at Indochine pretty frequently but this experience convinced to that I will surely never spend my money here again. I placed an online order at 6:45 and my scheduled pickup time was 7:25 - 7:30. I showed up right on time at 7:30 and was told it will “be ready in a moment. I patiently waited until 7:50 to asked if my food was almost ready (20 minutes after my scheduled pick up time) and was told they were bagging it up. I waited another 10 minutes until 8:00 when they eventually gave me my food. In the 30 minutes that i was waited they never offered me a drink, or apologized for the absolutely obnoxious amount of time that I sat there patiently without complaining. On top of all of that, THE ORDER WASNT EVEN RIGHT! Don’t waste your money here.

Indochine Express is primarily a take-out facility with a few tables for in-house ding. It’s bright, clean, and quiet enough for conversation. Take-out service was quick, efficient, and accurate. Food was delicious, and serving size was generous enough for two meals.

While it has seating, it's really built for takeout. Food was good. Service was friendly.

We were told 25 minutes for food preparation. It was 15. Pleasantly surprised.

Love this place and the staff. As well as the food, obviously. We really like the spring rolls and the “gold bags,” which are like chicken fried dumplings, and truly are little bags of gold sent straight from the food god himself. The tuxedo cake may be the best I’ve tried from an establishment as well. Also love their drink selection, especially the pear flavored sake! But seriously, we were held at the back of Walmart for forever during a tornado warning after placing a pickup order at this indochine when shopping. They called us to inquire as to why we hadn’t picked up our food, letting us know they would be closing soon. After telling them what was going on, they really stayed after hours to give us our food!!! Love them!

Food very tasty and prepared well. Watch the spice level if you’re sensitive to spicy. We went with the middle hot level and it was quite spicy and we love hot food. Great atmosphere definitely check this place out!

Ordered Crab Angels, Cha-yo and Pad Thai. Crab Angels were very good, Cha-yo was greasy and overdone. Ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. It was tasteless except for the fishy tasting shrimp, which you wouldn't want to eat. Won't be back again.

wait time was longer than anticipated and they did seem a bit disorganized when i arrived for pick up. but the food was INCREDIBLE! for vegetarian dishes, i highly recommend the yellow curry or the pad thai! portion sizes always are generous—can usually get two solid meals out of one dish!

We want to love it but we don't care for much on this menu, too many noodle dishes, and prices are higher than they should be for this food and fast-casual. Why pay full-service dinner prices when you order at the desk?

I had wanted to try Indochine ever since it opened in Southport. I had an opportunity to eat lunch at the Leland location, and it was outstanding. Before 2 p.m., their lunch menu is limited, but everything sounded great. I chose the Teriyaki Beef Noodles. It was outstanding, perfectly prepared, and extremely flavorful. I can't wait to try their entire menu.

I ordered teriyaki chicken noodles and veggies with 2 orders of the crab angels for my toddlers. 2nd bite I took was broccoli that was full of dirt. Literally chewed up grits of dirt. Spit it out and figured it was just a piece that didn’t get rinsed good. Kept eating and kept eating more dirt/grit. Took it back and the girl was so rude she wanted to ARGUE with me over whether or not I had just ate dirt. She said other people would have the same complaint if they had dirty vegetables. I said oh so I’m lying? She said well I’ve sold a lot of those dishes today and nobody else said that it had dirt in it. I walked out. Won’t be back. Stick to Wilmington location.

Ordered pickup, and they forgot part of our order and messed up another part. Called, and they said they could do a store credit and that they would have a manager call me back shortly. This was 2 days ago, with no call back. I guess you have to open everything up in front of them to verify your order because they obviously don't care if they get it wrong.

Indochine needs to fix it's fried rice, the pot stickers and soup were good but the fried rice is not fried, it's just white rice + stuff there is seemingly no wok involved. It was just mushy rice with some egg and pork.

Food is very flavorful but staff screws up orders. Today I got the food home to discover that one item was missing and another had chicken instead of vegetables. The confirmation email got everything right. I called and they told me to take it up with DoorDash. DoorDash did not screw this up. I regret adding a tip in advance. UPDATE: We disputed the charges through our Mastercard bank. The followed up with DoorDash, who reported that they did not make a mistake - which is correct. Indochine screwed this up. So reimbursement denied. Be very careful about ordering online, and check your items in the bag before you leave the store.

First time Fter having been to the original Indochine many times. Having since gone gluten free for health reasons usually any Asian is difficult . There's options aplenty and the staff were enthusiastic to help us through the new menu. We were surprised when we were told even the soy sauce is gluten free. Overall satisfaction was amazing and the food was amazing as well. We'll be back often !! Thanful to have more amazing options in Leland

I placed my order online and was told it would be 50 minutes.... I arrived 10 minutes early and it was ready 😁.... My spicy yellow curry chicken was fantastic and perfectly spiced🤗

Great to have a decent Thai/southeast Asian option on this side of the bridge. Tasted great, right amount of heat, and good variety on the menu.

I lost so much respect for Indochine as a whole. I think the owner would be embarrassed by this restaurant. They lost our order and we waited 30 min after our DoorDash pickup time without any sort of compensation or apology. I should’ve checked the bag before I left but when I got home it turns out they forgot our sweet and sour sauce… with our sweet and sour chicken. This indochine sucks, and I will be driving across the bridge before trying this location again.
