Creative takes on Chinese, Thai & Japanese dishes plus sushi & funky rolls in a trendy space.
I had an amazing dining experience at Imperial Koi! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and our server, Hay, was incredibly sweet and attentive. She made sure we felt welcome and taken care of throughout our meal.
Now, let's talk about the food! The sushi was simply the best I’ve ever had, with fresh, vibrant flavors that delighted every bite. The sea bass was perfectly cooked, melting in my mouth with each forkful, and the lamb chops were out of this world—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor.
Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. I highly recommend Imperial Koi for anyone looking for top-notch food and excellent service!
The sashimi is incredibly high quality. The Service is a breath of fresh air for Greensboro Dining. The entire staff here actually cares about providing attentive Service. I love dining here. The Amazing Sashimi Dinner is 18 pieces of sashimi for like $32 and it is truly "amazing" every single time. A must sushi destination in Greensboro! They have way more than just sushi too.
Nice place! Took my mom here for mother's day and it was definitely packed but still room at the bar. Due to that we waited a long time for our food, but the bartender/server was very kind and attentive. We had ordered miso soup that was forgotten but immediately brought out when she realized. The split spring roll/rangoon appetizer was small (only 2 of each) but tastes very good and held us over. The hot sake was good but did not stay hot long at all you basically have to drink it up immediately. I got the crispy honey chicken and it tasted good but it wasn't at all what I had assumed. It's basically just breaded chicken with a honey sauce on the side, of which I had to ask for more of. Mom's dish was flavorful at least. All in all I felt like the place was a tad overpriced for certain things and it was *almost* there but falling a bit short. I'd like to come back and see if we could have a better experience and perhaps choose something else on the menu that matches the price.
An absolute hidden gem— how come I’ve never heard of this restaurant? The inside was beautiful; white cloth tables, cultural interior designs, etc. This spot is perfect for a date night. We enjoyed the lovely service and food. Would love to visit again. You are provided warm hands towels after eating and I thought that was a very thoughtful touch to the service.
I got the imperial poke and the pad thai.
Im very not impressed. For the price and place, the food was pretty low to average.
The rice on my poke was not sushi rice. Or if it was, it was served cold and hard. Poke rice should be soft, fat and juicy. What i had that day tasted like it came from the fridge and styrofoamy.
The toppings were so skimped, the food did not even fill half the bowl. Colors looked nice but i wish they actually had a real fresh poke bowl not this hard rice and one star poke toppings.
The pad thai i thought was overly sauced. Too sweet and overpowering theres no hint of herbs, or tanginess of authentic pad thai. I lived in TH for years and mybe thats why im very disappointed with this imitation.
Service was good.
Maybe they have other better tasting dishes. Dont order what we had. Now i understand why they dont recommend the place. 😔
It was a quiet Sunday evening. The atmosphere was peaceful. We both had sake, both very good. We started with crab wontons & disappointed as the filling was barely there. Other appetizer was delicious! Rocky shrimp - tempura shrimp dressed with yuzu mayo.
Meals were parmesan crusted scallops....good taste but extremely expensive for the amount served. I had the sea bass. Very good fish, cooked just right but the accompanying orzo/veggies had no flavor at all
Our server was good but not great. We felt rushed. Probably won't go back

We are so glad we did! It was very good choice! They weren't too busy service was pretty fast! Our waitress Miss Faith was very nice and patient answered all our questions about the menu and came back to check on us several times! Was a little disappointed they didn't have duck when we came but everything we ordered was cooked perfectly! We did not know that this was a fancier restaurant so we did not dress accordingly since we were headed to the arcade afterwards, but they still gave us excellent service regardless. This is a nice place to take a date a little more on the price of your side but very worth it they take a lot of care and pay attention to a lot of details in the restaurant we first came in and had a little giggle because there was a young lady under the table with a flashlight on her knees crawling around wondering what she was doing later on we realized that she was down there making sure they cleaned up every tiny piece of trash or food that may have fallen down there! Like what thats impressive most places just kicks it in the corner and everything would be sticky!!, but DEFINITELY NOT HERE! GO CHECK THEM OUT YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID! Very nice decor and atmosphere... White table cloths and dim lighting & full bar! Would make for a very romantic evening!
Update: my visit 2 months after leaving this review was better. Tamago was far better than it has been, mackerel was delicious. However, the rice quality still isn't superb, and the shrimp was bland. But, a good start towards it's former glory.
This used to be my go to sushi restaurant for almost 10 years, but over the last couple, the quality of the sushi has really dropped, and the price hike has been insane. The price of the amazing nigiri and sashimi dinner has gone up by 10 dollars in the last 4 years. Even with water, I'm paying 40+ dollars for my dinner. I just can't recommend Imperial Koi anymore, sadly.
Uber Order from this restaurant is HORRIBLE
I made a reservation for a party of two ahead of time for NYE. We arrived 10 mins before our reservation and waited for 15 minutes in line JUST to get to the hostess podium. Once at the front of that line, we waited another 10 mins for the hostess (or even a waitress) to appear to seat us.
Being that I'm in a wheelchair, when I made the reservation, I indicated that sitting at the bar was NOT plausible for us. The hostess, who appeared disoriented, disorganized, and confused asked us if we wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. I stated that that was not possible because I was in a wheelchair.
All of a sudden, another guest, in line behind my party of 2, spoke up and said, "I have 7 people and I'm not waiting." The hostess heard him and began gathering more menus and turned her back to us. She asked us to move to the side so she could seat the party of 7, who did NOT have a reservation.
We moved to the side and waited next to the bar for 15 minutes. The hostess never returned to us nor did a waitress appear to bring us menus or even to ask us if we'd like drinks. I'm not sure if this restaurant over-booked or what happened but I do know that they ruined our NYE and we will not only never return but also make sure all our friends and family never visit here, either.
Disappointed is NOT how we expected to ring in our New Year 2025, especially when we did the right thing by planning ahead of time.
Imperial koi is my family's favorite restaurant in the area. We love everything we try here. The atmosphere is private, quite and relaxing. The staff is gracious, polite and knowledgeable. You never feel rushed. Lovely place.
We were very disappointed with the overall experience. The food was mediocre, three of us had our food brought out, and the other two didn't come for another 10 minutes. Tables were jammed together to the point of where it was hard to walk through to get to the restroom. There were other little things like no ice when asked for a refill of water and tea. And the icing on the cake was that the bill was outrageous. They're much better places to go for good sushi in Greensboro.
Dined in with a great server named Nini we loved her recommendation of the smoking shrimp roll also got the honey chicken and a tuna roll phenomenal and amazing service was provided she’s a great server
sushi was soft and mushy, which makes me believe quality of the seafood was poor. the duck entree was over cooked and way too much sauce poured all over. got sick immediately after
The sashimi is incredibly high quality. The Service is a breath of fresh air for Greensboro Dining. The entire staff here actually cares about providing attentive Service. I love dining here. Last night we tried to eat at Imperial Koy. We arrived and a few people were checking in before us. When it was our turn to check in the hostess began seating people.
She did not look up or acknowledge us at all. She then sat some people at a table. Came back. We were standing right in front of the hostess stand. Again she didn’t look up. Wrote some notes. Took another couple to their table. Came back. Didn’t look at us at all. Continued to look at notes. Took another couple to a table. Back again. Didn’t acknowledge us at all. This happened 4 times. We just left.
Is it really so hard to smile at someone and say “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.”
The pad Thai doesn't taste a thing like it should. It's basically noodles doused in sweet Thai chilli sauce. Horrible food.
Worst take out experience! They forgot a key menu item then told me they couldn’t refund my money because it went through a third party. To top it off the prices were high so I was expecting superior food…no such luck.
The food was ok. Service was great. The tuna tasted a bit sour.
Excelente
One appetizer, two glasses of house, Chardonnay and three rolls. $100. Worth every penny. Service was great and food was exceptional. Will definitely return.
Went to Imperial Koi for the first time and enjoyed every minute of it. Nice, clean environment with a friendly wait staff. And the food is absolutely breathtakingly delicious. Seasoned to perfection, the Suschi is the best I ever had. We will go back soon again.
Danger: It might become addictive!😊
I got the imperial poke and the pad thai.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the Love Boat - a visual and gastronomic masterpiece that left us in awe. Each piece of sushi and sashimi was fresh, expertly crafted, and bursting with flavor.
We also indulged in the Kobe beef, which was simply excellent. Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it melted in our mouths and showcased why Kobe beef is so highly regarded.
Our server, Hay, deserves special mention. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly demeanor elevated our dining experience. Hay's recommendations were spot-on, and she ensured we felt well taken care of throughout our meal.
The ambiance, the quality of the food, and the impeccable service all combined to create an unforgettable evening. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or just looking for a top-notch dining experience, Imperial Koi delivers on all fronts.
Food is always fresh 😋 great place
Last experience here was different. My first time, I had sushi, was good. Last Sunday, we went and had a couple of dishes. We had Pad Thai noodles and Happy family. The veggies on the happy family were missing maybe at least 5 minutes more cooking time. They were hard, it could also had had mooore sea food :). The fired rice I ordered with it, was nothing special. I can make it better at home with some leftover white rice. The Pad thai, the saud was maybe too sweet and sour at the same time.. was off balance.
My peach martini was good.
More than an hour wait for food and the restaurant was not at all busy. Wait staff was very kind and apologetic. We left after an hour and fifteen minutes wait.
Great staff! Great food! Great drinks! 👍 thank you
Great atmosphere and ambiance, hot towels were brought out after we ate…I highly recommend this Bistro ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The appetizers were okay and the service was fine. But our entrees were BELOW MID!! I got the sweet and sour flounder and my fiance got chicken hibachi. Hard to mess up for a japanese place right? WRONG!! My flounder had no seasoning, lukewarm Nd hard as a rock. My fiancé’s chicken was dry and the white sauce was watered down. But the one thing both of our meals had in common besides the blandness was how undercooked out veggies were.. like the put them on after the cooked the meat to hell. 2/10 would never go back!!
Sushi is good, but it’s the smallest portions I’ve ever had at any sushi place ever and twice as much money
Imperial Koi in Greensboro has become a go-to spot for us. They consistently impress with their ample parking and spacious seating, making it a comfortable dining experience no matter the occasion. The food is always well-prepared and delicious, and the service is top-notch. Whether you're catching up with friends or celebrating a special event, Imperial Koi delivers a reliable and enjoyable dining experience.
Wonderful atmosphere, great selection, and food is outstanding and decently priced. Will be back again for sure!
Came for Mother's Day Brunch, because Melt had a 45 minute wait, and we weren't disappointed ! I've been here many times & it's always great service & food. The portions are just right, not too much & leave me satisfied. Had the Miso Soup, Crab Rangoon/Egg Roll App & Basil Thai Chicken. All quite good! Our Bartender was attentive & very nice. She was alone on a busy holiday & kept up with the bar orders & a full bar!
I have been a customer for a long time. But this past Monday night I was quite disappointed.
The food took almost an hour to arrive to our table and the restaurant was not even busy.
If you are planning on celebrating a birthday there, be prepared to be charged $10.00 just to keep the cake you brought in the fridge. I have never encountered this situation before to pay for stored your cake to keep it fresh.
Very disappointing..!!
Nice place! Took my mom here for mother's day and it was definitely packed but still room at the bar. Due to that we waited a long time for our food, but the bartender/server was very kind and attentive. We had ordered miso soup that was forgotten but immediately brought out when she realized. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had and it started the moment we walked in the door. We had a reservation at 5:30 for 8. We waited for 15 minutes to even speak to the hostess, even though there was only one other party in front of us waiting to be helped. After we finally spoke to the hostess we were told we would have to wait for another table to get up, despite there being a large open table and us having a reservation. We asked about the open table and were told it was for a party of 10 that also have a reservation at 5:30, mind you by this time it was already 5:45-5:50 and no other large parties had shown up. Finally at 6:00 we asked again if we could please have the open large table as our reservation was for 30 minutes ago and the other party still had not shown up. 30 minutes after our reservation and the table being empty the entire time, we were finally sat. After being seated we waited for almost an hour and a half for our food. We were waiting on the food from the kitchen and unfortunately the two guests in our party that ordered sushi had their sushi siting getting warm as we waited for the rest. One person in our party didn’t even eat her food because it was so bland. The waitress was prompt in removing the plate from the bill and offered many resolutions to satisfy the guest, the waitress was the only bright spot. The portions of food is extremely small for the price, there are ingredients missing that are listed in the menu, such as no pineapple in the crispy flounder dish, and everything was really under seasoned.
The entire time the manager never came to speak to us, never offered an explanation or apology until I asked to speak with him. I understand that things happen but if we were told the kitchen was extremely backed up and food was taking close to 2 hours we would have understood and went to eat elsewhere.
We came here to celebrate Mother’s Day for 2 people, 2 engagements, and a 30th birthday. I’m leaving a one star because not only was the food average and nothing to write home about, but we waited almost 45 minutes to sit for a reservation that we were on time for and then waited another 2 hours to be served food. We asked several times about a large table that was open, since we had 8 people and the table was for 10 people. They said it was reserved for large parties, yet we were a large party and had a reservation. Finally, after almost 45 minutes, they sat us at that large table of which no other large parties showed for the rest of the night. After we ordered, our food didn’t come out for 2 hours. We were also told our raw sushi had been ready for over an hour. Someone at our table did not like their food because it was bland, so the server took it back and offered something else. she declined because she didn’t want to wait another hour after we finished eating to get a replacement meal. Not only did the manager not come over to check on a unsatisfied meal for a customer, but they didn’t come over to even offer an apology for the 2.5 hour wait at this point. We were offered absolutely nothing after waiting hours and paid for the meals and left. The food was decent but we would never come back here because of the complete lack of hospitality.
*I wanted to add that the server was very sweet and obviously stressed out that there was nothing she could do for her managements shortcomings.
This was a horrible experience starting the moment we walked in the door. 5:30 reservation for 8 and the spaced out hostess told us the wait would be “a while” with no explanation or time estimate. After waiting for 15 minutes we asked the manager why we could not be seated while there was an empty table with 9 chairs. Told us there was a bigger party coming that table was held for. If we have also have a reservation and are already here why would we not be seated? After another 20 minutes with that EMPTY table still there my 79 year old grandma finally spoke up that she no longer wanted to stand and again asked why we would must wait for a table while holding a table for a party that wasn’t even there. After being seated we waited for over an hour for our cooked food while the sushi sat getting warm at the sushi bar. Appetizer that we were told would take “15 minutes” came out with the food. I ordered the Chilean sea bass and it had absolutely no flavor. I am not one to send back food but I refuse to pay $28 for a meal that tastes like nothing. Told the server, who was more than apologetic, that I didn’t want to order anything else as the rest of my party was eating and I wasn’t going to wait another hour just to eat alone. Middle of the meal a man comes in screaming that he’s going to ram into a specific car if the owner doesn’t move it, no one tried to calm him.
This entire time the manager never came to speak to us, never offered an explanation or apology. I understand that things happen and restaurants are unexpectedly short of staff. As a manager you should be explaining these issues to customers so they can know what to expect. If the hostess had explained to us how short of staff they were we would’ve went somewhere else to eat. Maybe this was a one off as other reviews are great but for a special occasion I would go elsewhere. We were celebrating Mother’s Day, a birthday and two engagements with most of our party coming from out of town. This was an embarrassment and after the disregard from management I will never come back. Only positive was from our waitress who was attentive and apologized for everything. She should not have to do managements job.
We are a frequent diners at Koi. This evening, May 12th, we had a reservation at 6:45PM and were told that we have to wait ~ 1 hr. An inconsiderate jerk with his entourage showed up and knew a server at the bar …. and the wait staff allowed him to cut in front a lot of people, including us , who had been waiting to be seated.
Had a 5 PM reservation today for Mother’s Day and at 6:50 still didn’t have our food. When we let the staff know we were leaving there wasn’t even an offer to cover our drinks and edamame. No apology was made on their end. I would avoid.
Our waitress was nice but they must be understaffed here because the service was super slow. We tried several dishes but the food just wasn’t good and super overpriced for the small portion you receive.
This is one of my favorite sushi places. It’s a little higher priced than others but for the atmosphere, quality, ease, and availability it’s my favorite. I’ve dined in plenty of times and I do take out a lot. The reason for 4 stars on service and atmosphere is because regarding service it’s great in person but sometimes they don’t check back enough for refills once the orders are taken and delivered otherwise very good in house table service. The biggest complaint has to be with take out. You call and place your order and they tell you it will be ready in 20 minutes but it almost never is even if you show up 30 minutes later they will not have started your sushi order because they prioritize their in house customers. When you get there they hardly ever have your order ready. They typically don’t start or prioritize until you’re there to pick up so you end up always waiting 20 minutes after you get there. They will typically offer you a seat and a free pickled cold salad which costs them nothing and they always ask if you’d like something to drink but it’s always an up charge for soft drinks or on tap beers so no thanks. I feel like a complementary on tap beer or soft dink while you wait should be a minimum if they haven’t started making your rolls or order after 20-30 minutes while you wait 20 minutes. This lack of service always saves me some money because I’m not tipping on take out when they constantly do this. The atmosphere is super nice restaurant feel with table clothes, seating room, service, quality, plating, food, etc. The only negative is the conversations carry from other tables along the window seating always so kids or inebriated diners are annoying along these tables.
I love this place. I often come for lunch when I want to treat myself to high quality sushi and DELICIOUS soup. Their hot and sour is the best in town as far as I'm concerned, and their miso is so flavourful!! We hosted our company's holiday dinner here as well and even though it was a very busy night, the food was delicious and we all enjoyed our time. Yes, it's a bit pricier than some of the other sushi places around, but the quality speaks for itself. I don't really eat too much at an all you can eat place to make it worth my while, so having 1-2 rolls here and a bowl of soup or salad really does the trick for me. And it's always very clean, upscale, and if you can get a booth, has a sweet little lofty view. I've taken family here as well when they came from out of state and they spoke well of the baked salmon dishes and more standard plates. So, across the board, very tasty food.
Amazing dining experience - thank you !
Fresh sushi/ Amazing service/ delicious food /peaceful atmosphere/ big parking downstairs
Overall 10/10

Weird vibes, overpriced, and terrible service. We had a reservation and had to wait for our table. We ordered at 7:25 and did not receive our meals until 8:40. Our server frequently disappeared for long periods of time and when we asked for an update on our food, he told us five more minutes, then we waited for another 20 before everyone at our table was served. I ordered summer rolls for $10, and most places would serve you at least 2 rolls with multiple shrimp but this was one roll with a single tiny shrimp and mostly lettuce. The sushi roll I ordered didn't taste very fresh. I went to Harris teeter after dinner and bought a sushi tray for half the price and it tasted way better and fresher. The prices are crazy considering that it's really just subpar Chinese takeout on a fancy plate. Overall it was a waste of both time and money.
I enjoyed my experience!! The food was delicious and delightful. The Sashimi was nice and fresh, and I love that they serve Hamachi Kama!!! Whenever I'm in Gboro this is where I will dine!!
We are addicted to their food. My only complaint is the price, but you get what you pay for right? Our orders are always to go, and they haven’t messed up a single one. Wonderful place
Year ago
Koi lamb chops were good, I think they cooked them medium rare but medium well would of been better. They have lots to try on their menu and good sushi.
Year ago
Update: went back to dine in & eat sushi 🍱
Imperial is the best sushi restaurant in Greensboro. Everything was fresh, Our waiter was friendly & helpful. Their booths are very cozy, comfy, tall and adds to the aesthetic. Posted pictures on my photo threads for y’all to see. I’ll definitely be dinning in again!
Feb 14th 2024 reservation.
Literally, terrible they kept taking tables when the tables there waiting for 2 hours plus still haven’t gotten their food. I’m never recommending this restaurant to anyone. Server disappeared on us. Only got food within 1 hour 56 minutes because we said we would leave if it took longer.
The food really has changed since the last time I reviewed. We were a party of 7 they add a 44.00 tip. Wouldn’t have mattered if we actually got good service. Tipping is for good service, as if they actually provided good service that night is gobsmacking. No ahi tuna ( tuna tataki) anymore, lamb chops aren’t like they use to be. Mongolian beef thrown sloppily together & weak water down drinks. Another time I was here we looked back at the receipt and the waiter charged us for the wrong drinks. Disappointed won’t be back.
The food is good but wait staff is underwhelming.
I won’t be back considering the price tag for lunch, and the service doesn’t line up
My daughter loves this place
I had the Mongolian beef, my wife had the pad thai and we shared a white diamond roll. The sushi was great, very well made, as good as it can be. The beef and the pad Thai was tasteless and mediocre. If I had only sushi i would have given 5 stars, my recommendation skip this those dishes and focus on sushi.
I love the sushi here! My favorite is sitting at the sushi bar where the sushi chefs can interact with you. Sometimes they will make things custom for you when you tell them what you like. Since I am gluten free, they always accommodate my food restrictions and make amazing rolls that are safe for me.
Well with the visit!

Kind of disappointed, food was blend, lacked flavors. Rice was dried. Wonton soup was a bit too salty for me. Even the drink (China white) was not good, it felt like it missed the Bailey's and Godiva chocolate, couldn't taste them. Went there because it's close to home, but there are much better Asian restaurants around Greensboro. Now the service was good just a bit slow but seems that they're missing waiters (they have hiring sign).
I ordered takeout for me and my family, expecting a very delicious meal. According to the appearance of the restaurant very beautiful, nice ambience very clean bathroom everything seen very top tier so of course I was expecting the food to be. I ordered the kids teriyaki, hibachi chicken, and The happy family entree. The food was so horrible. I am now in the middle of eating mine at home and I never really write a food review but it was so horrible. I had to do this right now because I’m so disappointed I paid over $85 for the meal for me and my family and the food was super bland And the seafood on the happy family entrée was not fresh smelling and it was very fishy tasting not a pleasant experience . The only thing is really good Here is the sushi because I’ve ate here before but today I decided to do entrées, which was a big mistake for me. I will recommend sushi here but I wouldn’t recommend anything else. Besides, all of that, the staff was really friendly at the ambience is really nice but the food is not good. Highly disappointed. I spent all that money and still left hungry because I couldn’t finish my meal it was so gross.
This place has great food.. environment and service. I had the lamb chops and just thinking about it makes me want more
Great higher end sushi restaurant. Would definitely recommend the hocus pocus roll. The presentation is really unique.
Love the ambiance of the place. Very quiet. The service was excellent. The food was great. I eat black ginger sushi all the time for price friendly but this was great as well. They even give you hot towel at the end of your meal to clean yourself loved that. A bit pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion especially for a date night to change the scenery
Good food but wildly overpriced. Have had better takeout but it's a decent enough atmosphere to have a dish.
My husband and I just celebrated his birthday tonight here. We have always enjoyed special dinners here.Tonight was certainly not the same experience ! Food was good . The server was not pleasant nor was she helpful. Never offered to replenish anything! Sadly this will not be our go to place anymore after tonight’s experience. Very dissatisfied.
Great food, a bit formal but you don't need to dress up. Make sure to park on the upper lot or you will climb many many steps.
First visit and we were all pleasantly surprised! Beautiful restaurant and patio! Service was amazing and food was even better.. best crab rangoons I’ve ever eaten!
Pretty mid. Great environment, but food is in terribly small portions for 3x the value. Most of our stuff may as well have been frozen.
Came here for lunch, there were only 2 other tables and it took over 20 minutes for them to bring out our salads. We had to take our food to go because it had been 45 minutes after and our order haven’t even been started on.
This is the 3rd time that it’s happened.
Great lunch menu, super service from our server Faith.
Went last night for our annual October birthday dinner (son, wife and mother in law).. Worst service I have ever had there. When opening champagne they pointed it at us, no napkin over the bottle. Must have been their first time opening one. Server never poured any champagne, had to ask for water refills. Apps were good and timely. First 3 plates of mail meal came out, then 10 minutes later the fourth. 10 minutes later the 5th entree came out, still waiting on #6, 10 more minutes 6th entree came out ( birthday boys food) 30 minutes after the first 3. Not great tasting either. During this wait on our food several other tables were served. Had to keep asking for water refills all night. It was not even 1/2 full. Manager apologized and told us he would buy us 1 desert, but we could not choose it, fried bananas, not good. Chocolate lava cake was a joke, Sysco prepared and warmed up. For almost $100 per person not worth it, save your $.
Always a favorite! Pro tip: order the gyoza steamed..it's absolutely amazing.
Will continue to come here any time I'm craving sushi!
first visit..but Will NOT be my last..Super tasty sushi and they offer brown rice as well as white..i had spider roll..calamari and greens salad..the shrimp tempura roll and shrimp and avocado roll. This is aTHE MOST elegant sushi restaurant i have ever experienced ..and the prices are super reasonable..A GREAT FIND AND Perfect VIBE!!!!!!!
The hibachi and sweet potato tempura sushi was excellent. Service was great. Would come back
The love boat is awesome!
It was a nice place, but service was 0. We ordered our appetizers and entrées, she forgot to put in the order for 30 min. After that she brought the starter and I asked for sauce and she never brought that. After 1 hr they bring the food and no no refills!!! We ask for refills and never made it to the table. Waitress didn't care at all. Worse experience ever!!! NEVER AGAIN!
Let me start by saying my wife and I are from NY and are well traveled food enthusiasts.
The ambiance was nice and calming-Not too loud at the time but it was a Sunday night and not that busy.
The multiple hot appetizers and salad came out before the hot jasmine tea was served.
The food was well presented but lacked the fresh fish flavor and texture that we are used to. Sushi chefs were of Indian and Spanish origin.
Pear Beet salad - lettuce less than ideally fresh, only 2 slivers of pear and 3-4 slivers of beet. Not enough dressing/cheese or flavor.
The jasmine tea came in a nice tea pot.
Although at the end of the meal my wife and I started to have a sore throats and began to feel drugged/foggy headed. Neither of us drank anything but jasmine tea and Bottled Fuji water. Followed my mild indigestion.
The Hibachi and cooked options may have been a better choice but unsure if I would return or recommend to anyone.
One of my worst dining experiences as of late. Requested to sit outside and the host began to show me to my table. Table wasn’t ready; had to wait roughly 10 minutes next to the table while the hose cleaned/set the table. Bass was good, sushi was horrible. Was very surprised to learn that others seated around me had a similar experience with the lack of preparedness and service. Wouldn’t recommend.
Had a birthday party an they thru the cake box aways but they accommodate for the mistake.
Amazing food
Amazing sake
Amazing service
They have some of the best specialty rolls.
Even though they said that they were able to serve gluten free meal, this is not the case. Plus the manager argued with me that it was, but my daughter who has ciliac disagrees.
Large menu with all types of Asian cuisine. Good portions and high quality food in an inviting and scenic location. Get a seat near the windows to enjoy the lovely surroundings 😊
Food is overpriced for what they give you. Great atmosphere inside though.
This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant to eat at in Greensboro however; I will never eat there again. The first thing I noticed was that the interior looked really run down and dirty. The paint was coming off the chair legs and the chairs were in terrible condition. We sat in a booth which had food bits stuck to the wall. Our server ignored us; we tried numerous times to get a set of chopsticks or refills and were routinely ignored, she also left dirty plates on our table and refused to remove them. One of my sushi rolls “spider roll” was so gross I had one piece and couldn’t eat the rest. My niece ordered her favorite roll “pink lady” which was supposed to have Granny Smith apples but instead had red apples. The smoked salmon in the roll tasted rancid and looked dark and gray so she ended up not eating her roll either. Unfortunately we still had to pay for that disgusting food and poor service. Not sure why such a drastic change in quality and service but will never go back and advise others about my experience.
Lots of options and great service.
Made us wait even though we had a reservation and half of our food came out 20 minutes after everyone else.
Had a table RESERVED for mothers day, showed up just to be told we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Completely ruining our plans for mothers day. They clearly dont know the definition of reservations
Do not recommend this restaurant if you want to dine here for a special occasion
Small portion on lunch special and the sushi was not very good at all. Over priced amd underwhelming
Absolutely amazing.....
A tad pricey, but excellent quality every time.
Really great fancy place to get Asian food!
Yummy food and creative boozy concoctions. The prices range towards the higher end, but the food is fresh and prepared really well. The sushi is the best, and the dumplings are really good. Friendly servers and very clean bathrooms.
This place is one of my favorites but today was very disappointed. I ordered the sake colada. The server told me due to not having a bartender I couldn’t have that drink. I get the pink lady roll all the time.I noticed it tasted different and is supposed be prepared with green apples. Instead it had regular red apples inside.
I had a lovely dinner here :) our server Trenton was attentive and kind. I ordered the sunshine roll with a yellowtail scallion hand roll and they were delicious. My partner ordered the winter garden dish and he enjoyed it as well!! Overall had a relaxing and nice experience and will definitely come back for some yummy dishes 😊
Loved taking my daughters here! Food ambience and staff were stellar!
I love absolutely love an adora this restaurant any nice date or engagement this would be the perfect place for it. The food is awesome an served with the up most care 😘
Food was absolutely amazing would go again.
I am very disappointed with my experience here. The service was the only thing giving this review a star at all. The food was terrible…. I got pad Thai, which is usually difficult to mess up, that tasted like it was drenched in sweet & sour sauce. My partner got teriyaki chicken that lacked any flavor at all. The sushi, along with everything else, are overpriced. This is my third time giving this place a chance and I won’t be back.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Imperial Koi Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar and was pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was quickly seated and promptly greeted by the friendly staff. It was evident that they were well-versed in their menu offerings, as they were able to answer all of my questions and offer their recommendations.
The moderate amount of menu selections provided a great variety of Asian cuisine options without feeling overwhelming. The full bar offered a fantastic selection of both domestic and imported beers, which perfectly complemented my meal.
The meal, it was very good. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. The decent-sized servings were more than enough to satisfy my appetite, and I left feeling completely satisfied.
The typical fair price for a dine-in establishment was more than reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. I recommend the Imperial Koi Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar. The quick seating and service, friendly staff, knowledgeable menu selection, full bar, and tasty food make it a good choice for any occasion.
Portion sizes are INCREDIBLY SMALL for a BIG PRICE. Will never return again. I recommend little Tokyo in Highpoint.
Absolutely love imperial koi. Great food and service. We sit at the bar frequently and Anita always takes great care of us:) definitely give the kobe beef a try
The ambience is quite nice . The sushi is some of the best I have ever tasted. Our waiter was top notch.
I.am.speechless. This place was absolutely wonderful! The Kobe beef was melt in your mouth buttery. The sea urchin (uni) was fresh and creamy. The sushi is fresh, clean and prepared with amazing ingredients! And let’s not forget the servers, they are quick to help, sweet, and will answer any questions you have. Great place for a date, or if you’re just wanting quality food. 5 stars!!!!!
Highly recommended great food great presentation. Beautiful atmosphere. Only complaint is how long it took to get food and drinks
Our go-to restaurant for special occasions and craving for great sushi. The standard rolls are available, and some specialty house-recipe rolls they make are just delightful.
Casual, clean, friendly, and delicious
Tristen and Shalom are amazing and always take care of my family and I here. We have been coming here for years and the space is gorgeous. The ambience is splendid and the sushi is fresh and tasty. The lunch Maki roll combos are the way to go. My son even eats the sushi here and he’s 7! Thanks for making fresh delicious food and thanks for being such a great restaurant.
A friend and I went here as a result of the positive reviews we saw online and left sorely disappointed. Portions were small, flavors were dull, my sushi roll was falling apart on my plate upon receiving. I have had better asian food at some quick serve take-out places which would be fine if it weren't for the prices which did not feel like they matched the value. Could just be an off day but I don't think I'll return.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. We always get amazing service from everyone but especially Antia the bartender. She makes us feel special with the time and care she shows everytime we come in. She pays attention to detail to make sure our night out is an amazing time. The sushi is top knotch and I've never had anything I didn't love on the menu.
The service was great, the food was good. It's a nice place dining in with family or date night
Sushi is amazing, as well as other dishes. Service was meh.
I don’t really get the high google ratings this place have. Every time I go here with family, I always leave unsatisfied. The portions suck, the food is overpriced and the customer service isn’t that great
Best sushi in Greensboro.
I wish I could share with you how the food tastes, or how good the drinks may be. Unfortunately, I went to eat there and sat unnoticed for 20 minutes without anyone offering me assistance or even a glass of water. Several wait staff passed by my table without even glancing at me. This place was by no means busy as there were several open tables and there was plenty of staff. What a miserable experience, especially since I was looking forward to this. I will not be returning and recommending steering away from this place.
Very much a let down. The quality was comparable to grocery sushi and frozen Asian entrees. Taste was bland. For the price you would expect some amazing authentic flavors. The steam buns tasted “canned.” Unfortunate.
Over rated, small portions for an expensive price, food was not flavorful at all…I don’t think my family will return
From day one, our experience has always been wonderful at Imperial Koi! This place has become one of our favorite restaurants to regularly eat at. A handful of staff always pop by to say hello and greet us by name. We love sitting at the bar for food and drinks and Anita always remembers what we typically like (sometimes I throw her a curveball and want a glass of wine instead of my typical Kirin draft) and yet she’ll still remembers even that! She truly is amazing and she really does it all seemingly effortlessly! Thanks again Imperial Koi for always being a delight!
A bit Pricy but stellar food. Madison, our waitress was incredibly nice. Best sushi menu I've seen anywhere.
Very calm, elegant and warm atmosphere. Sparkling clean, excellent food and service. Wife and I enjoyed Calamari salad, Love Boat for two and Uni.
Delicious sushi!
My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement last night at Imperial Koi, which is hands down our favorite restaurant in Greensboro. In addition to exquisite food quality and service, the owner and staff went above and beyond all measure of expectations to provide us with a truly unforgettable and romantic evening. Every detail from the moment we stepped through the door was catered to our special occasion and made us feel as though we could want for nothing. Time and time again, "Koi" has proven itself to be the gold standard for a special occasion restaurant, as well as a place to come and enjoy superior food. I would recommend it to all sushi-lovers and even to those who are not, for an evening here will surely change your mind.
To the owner and staff -
from the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank you enough and look forward to seeing you all soon!
