Thai Cuisine and Sushi
Very disappointed in what I recieved for what I paid for. For one I've never recieved such runny yellow curry in my life. I wish i could've got a refund. I literally just threw it away. They gave me no rice and just gave me a soup they called curry. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have some coworkers who also got the pad thai and they said it was terrible. If you want thai do not come here. Stay way.
Open on a Sunday for lunch with my hungry Laotian fam!
Committing to a lady's day out, once a month, to take my grandma (matriarch of the family), we traveled as far as Advance to eat here. Grandma's getting skinny and we needed to make sure we were going to find food she'd eat! So we landed on Thai/Lao and thank goodness they were open. The places by us either weren't open or didn't have great outdoor seating.
Stumbling in, my aunty immediately starts speaking Lao to the waitress, and alas, she acknowledged! This was very exciting for us and we were immediately able to bond over our preferences and expectations.
My aunt and I had the kowpoon with ground chicken. It was a fairly good portion and tasted very good! I'd probably prefer mine spicier, but the flavor was very satisfying for both of us. I think first-timers might be overwhelmed with the amount of cabbage and veggies that are laired on top, but in my experience, it's supposed to be eaten this way. Lao people love their veggies and it's supposed to give the soup a crunchy neutral taste/texture to the curry soup's richness.
I ordered the shrimp fried rice for my 2 year old who absolutely loved it. The portion was also appropriate. Had we not eaten 3 orders of the dumplings, she probably would have eaten the whole thing!
Speaking of dumplings, they were bomb! I enjoyed that there was a healthy meat-to-wrap ratio and of course, it was very tasty.
Grandma had the Rad Na and had to take hers to go! That gravy was yummy! My cousin had the sushi and the flavor was apparent all the way down to the rice.
Not a ton of things on the menu, but the few things there are done very well. Aunty says we'll make the drive to eat here again. Threw in a trip to Tanger Outlet to shop/walk it off and called it a great day!
This used to be one of my favorite places but the disappointment was high today. They stopped serving salad with a meal and I love their peanut dressing and was looking forward to that with my meal. The yellow curry was very different than in the past- it used to be creamy, sweet and spicy, today it was runny and spicy and the onions and carrots overpowered the meal. It will be a long time before I come back.
Have been to Simply Thai quite a few times in the past. Tonight we placed a takeout order 2 Chicken Pad Thai dishes. When we arrived home to eat it we noticed both orders were burnt. The chicken was dark, the noodles had burn indications and all fused together and it had a burnt scent and resultant taste. Why they didn’t redo the order instead of just bagging up two orders of burnt chicken pad thai is really pathetic and unacceptable.
Food service and atmosphere was fantastic! Try the Pho or sushi. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Too expensive $$$ *** It is the closest a place has come to having Panang Curry that is as good as Simply Asian Thai Restaurant in Asheboro, NC. It is less than half the price of Simply Thai's version. Very nice decor and very clean. They do care about their place and their food. Don't know that I will return due to the price. Over $20 for my Curry on a Sunday. Probably will not be disappointed with your meal. The food is excellent!
Food service and atmosphere was fantastic! Try the Pho or sushi. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Very disappointed in the quality of the sushi for what I had to pay. Can most definitely get better quality for that kind of money. I can take you to better places than this for the same price maybe cheaper
Had a wonderful day with friends and atmosphere.

Edit: Knocking this down to 4 stars. The sushi and many of the other dishes are great, but the entrées essentially involve a few random pieces of meat and a lot of rice or noodles for $20+. I could make this at home for 1/10 the cost. Original review (still mainly valid): Elon mainstay, as they should be. Complex, flavorful dishes, and a responsive staff good at explaining the menu’s nuances.
Nice that they have Thai and sushi so everyone has something to choose from. Very good food.
The food was amazing and the staff was accommodating to our needs

I absolutely love this place. GREAT sushi and well worth the cost. Never had a bad meal yet. My boyz and their wives are getting food cards for Christmas.
Ordered here for the first time. Not the best. Drunken noodles were okay. Calamari was not very good.
That sticky mango rice was disgusting. Overly sweet and rice was hard. Y’all didn't even try, $12 down the drain
Quick service, and excellent pad Thai!!!!
Never had a bad meal here. Staff friendly, food is good. Can be a bit crowded, but not really bad.
The food was great. Table service was fine. The restaurant was very clean. It's a little pricey but worth it. It is located on the far end of a small strip center so it is easy to miss if you don't look carefully.
A little pricey but great food and atmosphere.
Simply the best Thai food anywhere. We are particularly fond of their Panang curry.
I like one Thai dish , pad see ew. They make a good one.
The best thai food I know 😋
Delicious, first time here. Will return.
Excellent food and service

My husband and I moved to the Burlington Area recently and wanted to try Thai food close by. We came across this restaurant and paid a visit on a Friday night for dinner. We are vegetarian and ordered the garden roll, the drunken noodle with tofu, the curry fried rice with tofu and the mango sticky rice. The first thing that shocked us are the prices here. The noodles and the curry fried rice costed us $21 each. The portion sizes of the food especially for the prices being charged are very very small. Next, this place doesn’t know what Thai food tastes like. The drunken noodle and curry fried rice tasted very similar with a smoky flavor and hardly any sauce! The tofu that they add is extremely bland and sad. The next thing I want to address is the service. The service is extremely slow and we had to ask multiple times where our food was. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
LOVE the Vegetables and brown rice for main meal and edamame as an appetizer
Food is good, friendly staff and atmosphere is really nice.
They don't pick up calls.
I never have good service at this restaurant but I really like their sushi! I'm a stay at home mom so I took my kids out for lunch today. This restaurant is not kid friendly and not stroller/wheelchair accessible. I didn't see a ramp near the restaurant. Our waitress was not friendly. She didn't smile and showed no interest in serving us. My kid's had the chicken fried rice and I had the Samurai roll. The rice was good but my roll wasn't very good. My sushi is always better than it was today. I'm very disappointed with my experience.
Food was good, but too expensive for take out, also small portions compared to price.
The best secret in town!! My absolute favorite place to eat in Alamance County!
I recommend the o baby shots best sushi 🍣 ever
I can't say one bad thing about Simply Thai! They were fantastic. The red curry with steak and the curry fried rice with steak were amazing. The sushi rolls were great. Our server was attentive and polite and very helpful for our first time trying Thai. My mimosa was perfectly bubbly. Everything was perfect from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. The decor was beautiful and everything was very crisp and clean. Even after a tip (which I'm never stingy on) we still got out for just under $100. That's a win in my book with the current economy. We'll definitely go again. Next time I'm going to try the yellow curry.
Food quality is very good. This was 2nd time here. The first time, they hit it out of the park for me and exceeded my expectations. The 2nd time, I didn't enjoy my meal - the meal was well prepared, I just didn't like it. My server did ask if everything was good, but I did not want to return anything. I'll definitely eat here again, I just won't order this menu item again (Pineapple fried rice)
Turned away at 2:35, when they close at 3... saying they stopped serving food.
We showed up 30 minutes before closing and we were turned away. Restaurants are supposed to seat until posted time. When I asked why the open sign was on, I was told that was for to go orders?! We have dined there before and the food was good, not great. Prices are a bit high for what is served. We will never return because of rudeness! Happy to drive further and be treated well!👎👎👎👎
Entrees were pretty good; for the price I would have expected much better. Service took over an hour, which is a lot even for a slammed night. That said, the appetizers were EXCELLENT. The Thai sample plate and the Samurai Jack roll were great.
Overall, this is a great place for appetizers/drinks, but I probably wouldn't get dinner here again.
Food was decent. Over priced. 3 entrees plus two tea's was $70. Comparable meal at other similar places would be $50.
Probably won't go back. Just not worth it.
Atmosphere was great. Could use a deep dusting since there was a layer of dust on everything out of reach and con webs but it was nice in there. The food was flavorless. I order pad Thai for $21 and was so disappointed. I ate it but the whole time I was thinking it dosnt have flavor. My date had sushi and again she said it tasted like rice and veggies. The waitress totally forgot about our appetizer but we were glad we missed out after the meal because we were already so disappointed in the food. Oh well we will look for another Thai place after that.
Nice spot for lunch or dinner. Bring back the lunch specials!
The sushi was pretty good!
Drunken noodles 👌
I am from NYC and I was touring Elon University and decide to come to this place. Service was horrible and the add to our bill 20%. Do Not recommend this place. Do not come here
the waiter is Asian and literally just dumped out food on the table and left. The service was horrible can’t express how awful the lady is. The food was eh ordered a chicken plate with vegetables and it was jus only out with vegetables. The Asian waiter was so nasty prices also a rip off
Their online menu is not a true representation of what is actually offered. They don’t honor their online menu. Plus they add 20% required gratuity regardless of the service you receive. The service was very poor and not accommodating. Don’t recommend this place. It should be more transparency, they blame covid for their menu not being updated.
The vegetable red curry was delicious. It almost tastes better on the 3rd time I ordered it!!
Very clean! Delicious food! Prices were a little high, but it was a little more upscale than your standard Thai spot. Will go back for sure!
Enjoyed the quality of Thai food they have . Drinks and soup were brought out quickly. We ordered Tom kha and wonton soup , massaman curry , tempura shrimp sushi roll it was well cooked and amazing. Also had mango sticky rise it was delicious .
The curry was very good. I've never tried the sushi.
Everything was delicious.
Best Sushi in the Triad.. They never disappoint me..
Great atmosphere and food.
If you love sushi this is the place!! I have had the garlic chicken and it is out of this world good. Never heard any complaints so check it out
Great service. Great food. Simply as Tha(t)(i)
My roll was tasty, small portions. Good parking and really nice inside.
Authentic, good food. Great, fresh sushi, best in area. Upscale yet family friendly. Good cocktails. Worth the wait at peak times. Popular with both locals and college students. Ask for 'Thai Hot' if you like spicy, 'Thai Style' for authentic seasonings. A local treasure.
Delicious
Good food. Good wine selection.
Really good Food and nice staff!
A nice hidden gem that is worth the drive from anywhere in the county.
listen if you have the money to eat here then go right ahead. I have been eating here for years but hadn't gone back since covid started. I decided to call in a order for lunch and was met with the rudest lady ever. I ordered the drunken noodle and was told there is no lunch menu. After that she told me my total was $28! for one meal people! I told her it was okay and to please cancel and she hung up on me before i could get another word out.
We frequented this restaurant for years. The atmosphere is nice and the food was great. We showed up a few months back 30 minutes before they closed and was refused seating because they were too busy. I have never experienced this in years of dining out. I asked why the open sign was still on if they were too busy and was told it was for to go orders?! We won’t return because of this.
I stopped in for lunch, It was delicious.
Enjoyed it!
Fantastic service and amazing food. A great local spot for amazing Thai food. Good selection of spicy and non-spicy as well as sushi. Take time check them out and you won't be disappointed.
It is a little too dark inside but the shusi is excellent. Great service. Highly recommend
We went with friends and dinner was excellent. We all had different meals. I had Pho and it was excellent. A place to go back to again and again
The food is great, the service is great.
The 🍣 left a lot to be desired. I've had better tasting 🍣 from the deli section of my local grocery store. The Pad Thai was bland and the Drunken Noodles didn't look advertising at all.
My take on this, is that the chef was of and the cook filled in. There seemed to be a lack of desire to prepare these dishes and definitely an absence of passion for their work. And the search continues for a decent authentic Thai restaurant and the best 🍣 to call a good spot. Keep in mind, I've been to the Far East Theater and have had the best authentic 🍣 and this doesn't come close.
One of the Best in Alamance County!
Excellent job
Absolut gut gegessen
Awesome food and great service!
Quantity of the food is small for the price. Taste is okay, there are other places which are better tasting.
Good food and atmosphere. If you like spicy food make sure you get Thai Hot.
This is our favorite restaurant in Elon. Quiet setting and great food. They handle my wife's food allergies with ease.
I loved my food. I was just visiting and I frequent a Thai place where I live. And now I'm sad that they don't have the Cashew nuts dish.. so good. When I come back to Burlington I'll have to go back!
My favorite favorite restaurant in the area for authentic good-quality Asian cuisine. I eat here so often I think the staff are annoyed at seeing my face lol. A great option for a night out and the drinks are amazing too.
VERY EXPENSIVE. No lunch menu. No lunch specials. Very slow service. We could only afford chicken & shrimp rice wraps. 2 wraps for $7. We could not find any chicken or shrimp in either one. Just tasted the cucumber. My friend refused to eat the actual rice wrap bcuz it was thick & extremely chewy. Place smelled like cholrine bleach. Do not recommend. Will not go back. They did have a lettuce side salad for $3.50. Next lowest price was $15-17 & up. I love Thai food but not from this place. 😕 😔 😢 BE careful walking out. The patio exit at the parking lot has over 1 foot drop-off edge that is not marked.
The sushi; staff; ambiance; soup and wraps were amazing. My go to wherever I’ll be passing thru from now on.
Excited to try this place out after reading such good reviews but quickly disappointed. The prices are pretty high... especially when the rice is hard, the seaweed is old, the fish is definitely not fresh and the roll which had salmon, avocado, flakes, seaweed and rice had no flavor. No welcome coming in and staff did not seen to care whether we are there or not and whether we like our food or not.
Went there today with a couple friends. Very pleased with the outcome. Waitress was super nice. The food was excellent! Soooo friggin good! I had the Dragon Roll, seaweed salad and summer wraps which were amazing. Next time I will try their Thai food too. Definitely worth it 👍😋
Open on a Sunday for lunch with my hungry Laotian fam!

A little pricey. But good.
Food and service has always been good here.
Good service and Thai menu.
The food here always satisfies! It's delicious and tastes authentic.
Do NOT offer curbside pickup. Given the current health crisis, this is a fairly simple request that protects the community. We fully believe in supporting local businesses, but not if they are insensitive to the safety and well-being of the community. Obviously new business is not a priority for them.
I’ve been here twice so far. Both times were great. My wife and I really enjoyed the sushi, money bags, dumplings, & tom kha soup. On the flip side, the first time I went I ordered a spicy dish and it wasn’t hot at all so maybe I’ll ask to make it actually spicy next time. It’s not the end of the world. Overall though, it’s a nice little place and would recommend it.
I really wanted to be able to give this place a sterling 5-star review but after getting some takeout this past weekend, I'm kinda bummed that my experience was a bit underwhelming. Since moving to Elon (from Chapel Hill) about 4 years ago, I've been wanting to find a good local Thai/Chinese restaurant that I could patronize regularly ... and enthusiastically. This past Friday was my first time ordering from Simply Thai. Pretty simple order: Pad Thai (they kindly said they could make it GF) with chicken. Bottom line: Pad Thai is not a particularly difficult or challenging dish to make and Simply Thai's basic no-meat version is $14. No problem. I requested chicken as an add-on and the person on the phone told me that with the added chicken my Pad Thai would be $20 – basically an extra $6 for the chicken. No problem, BUT for a $6 charge I was expecting at least a decent (and visible) amount of chicken in my Pad Thai. There was almost none. An embarrassingly tiny amount of chicken was hidden among my rice noodles and scallions. Had I known in advance that they so conspicuously scrimp on the meat add-ons, I would have simply passed on the chicken and just gotten the basic Pad Thai. I'm not sure when I'll dine there or get takeout again. Pretty disappointing. And I'm not sure the restaurant saves all that much by stiffing the customer on the meat.
Great food!
Great place .. Great food
Unfortunately, it is not great Thai food. The food is so so, and the Thai dishes are overpriced.
I recommend either:
Dining on a weekday, making a reservation on the weekend during daytime, or ensuring that the neighboring establishment is not holding an affair for drunken college kids....
Because we were waiting patiently and making the best of an overcrowded situation, enjoying delicious food in the cozy outdoor seating, until everything digressed into a frat party. We couldn't get the check and evacuate fast enough, our waitstaff was nowhere to be found.
I would be willing to try again another time, under different circumstances.
I hate to say it, but my expectations of Thai food in this part of N.C. were not high, but this place was fantastic, both in its elegant ambience and its excellent food. I can't recommend the drunken noodles highly enough.
Great customer service!
The food is excellent and the servers are attentive and friendly. We will go back.
This has become my favorite local restaurant after several visits with family and friends. The variety on the menu is great and everything I've eaten there has been well prepared and beautifully presented. The service has been consistently good, as well. I've yet to be disappointed.
Was excellent food, will be coming back
I've eaten at many Thai restaurants. This was the first without a lunch menu of smaller servings with soup or spring roll included, and a normal lunch price. On top of that, the appetizer and entree prices are higher than normal for Thai (e.g., $19 for Thai Basil with tofu. Add $2 for beef, with nothing else included). The saving grace is pretty large portions and good flavor.
Food, service & quality definitely has went down since covid.
Just had lunch there, the service & food were both mediocre . I ordered online then went in person to retrieve it. I waited for over 5 min before I was even greeted. I submitted a special order request that wasn’t honored, nor was I notified in advance. The packaging of my 20.00 lunch meal looked as if I brought it from the nearby gas station. The taste was bland. I am extremely disappointed. As a manager for MARRIOT international we usual recommend for our business travelers to go there, however since covid, the service and food are getting worst. I should have known since the hours on the google home aren’t accurate ether.
Brian is an awesome bartender.
Always great service and great food.
Best Thai food we've had in long time!
Decided to go here for my birthday dinner. Walk in and the guy says we stop seating at 8:30. Look at the clock and it is 8:31. Told him it was my birthday and he said so sorry. So 1 minute past seating and they can't serve us. I'm never coming back here again, horrible service. We went to the Indian restaurant Taaza instead, where they were happy to seat us!
Good food. Service was great.
Wait staff incredible on busy night. Sushi excellent. Massaman curry.no nut flavor, veggies undercooked, too spicy. Ordered medium, it was on fire!!!
Generous portions, fresh and well put together dishes, friendly service!
Food was not as good as I thought it would be. I asked for chicken pad Thai and they gave me tofu pieces inside of my pad Thai. The food also had a weird smell to it. Waste of money! Will not be coming back to this place!
Best Thai around. Love the duck fried rice.
One of the best restaurants in the area, especially if you're looking for Sushi.
Disappointed about this take out. Lettuce is definitely not an ingredient given for Pho, this should be Cilanto and Basil! Called to report it, they apologized and said I’d have to come back to pick up cilantro and spring rolls. They were nice though but it was inconvenient to have to come back.
Food was amazing! I highly recommend getting the money bags if you’ve never tried them!
Best Sushi around in my opinion...
Everything is good as I've found through trial and not so much error. Though I'll recommend the drunken noodles, fire cracker shrimp, as well at the Elon smack roll.
The food was great as it usually is. Simply Thai is quickly becoming one of our favorite local restaurants.
Beautiful restaurant, great service and wonderful food! Some of the best sushi I've ever had! The money bags and Pho are also delish
Went there for Sunday Lunch and was told the lunch menu wasn't available on Sunday at lunch and you must from the Dinner Menu. If that's the case change your menu info on the website to reflect lunch menu not available on Sunday during lunch.
After being told by the waitress the lunch menu wasn't available I got up and walked out.
Really good food
Always great
Food is good but pricey.
Sushi was very good.!
Good food and great service
Great curry, fantastic sushi, excellent service.
Good Thai food.
First time eating here. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but the pad thai and kamikaze sushi roll did not disappoint. Service and atmosphere was good as well. Just wish I could afford to eat here more often!
Always great food and service
Everything was great... both food and service.
Food was AMAZING but the service was so bad that I can't describe without running out of adjectives. Get your food to go
Excellent food and warm and helpful servers. The Thai Sampler is a great way to introduce yourself to Thai food and the Firecracker shrimp is the perfect blend of hot and a touch of sweet. The red curry is exceptional.
The drunken noodles were perfectly spicy and the yellow curry was quite good as well!
