Usually love this place but ordered the lunch Pad Kra Pao and it doesn’t say anything about oyster sauce on the menu only chili basil sauce. When I got my dish I could only eat 4 bites without nearly throwing up. Employee saw I clearly did not like it and did not ask what was wrong or offer anything else. You should state that there is oyster sauce, that is a very marked flavor and should have been a menu highlight especially if someone is getting veg or tofu instead of a meat, its usually for a reason.
Well that was a lovely surprise! I needed a new place for lunch today after some surgery follow-up testing and my usual favorite place it was closed. Thai food being one of my favorites I looked up a few local spots and initially thought this was a more fast food oriented Thai place because of some of the pictures, while the food looked absolutely amazing. Curiosity won out and I'm so glad it did!
This felt like a little modern slice of Thailand itself. Would paneling on the walls with plants and natural furniture, natural lighting, dishes served in stone plates and bowls and gentle, soothing musical tones. I had the place almost all to myself which was lovely, but wouldn't have minded a crowd because the service was excellent and the dishes wonderful. I had the papaya salad, an old favorite, and a plate of Thai Basil stir fry with chicken.
The salad had all the flavors you expect, and wonderfully portioned. The vegetables and chicken were piping hot not over seasoned or over sauced, and my waiter was just as attentive and kind as though I had a whole table of people with me. Wonderful hospitality.
I am allergic to gluten and they always make me food that is safe for me to eat. They are so kind here and do such a great job! One of my favorites! Their chairs are not very comfortable so bring a cushion if you are like me with chronic pain.
food is good but service has gone down hill.. understandable if they’re understaffed, but we were here for dinner, and when we paid, i didn’t leave a tip on the card because i always tip in cash, and as we were leaving the newer male waiter ran over and asked to leave a tip on the receipt…. to which i told him i left a cash tip on the table and he said “oh!” super off-putting experience when his service wasn’t good to begin with anyways.

I would not recommend eating here. The service is horrible, and the food was horrible. I gave the restaurant three chances and every time they messed up my food (or the food was old) or they didn’t give me the food that I paid for. Then when I brought the food back and asked for a refund, the cooks came out to argue with me and the waiter wouldn’t translate to them what the issue was. They had to call Miley, the manager in Raleigh, in order for me to finally get my refund, yet I still haven’t gotten it. I’m sure that the Raleigh restaurant isn’t much better.
We’ve been coming here for years, and the food’s always delicious. It’s among the best Thai food we’ve had anywhere, including in Thailand.
Fantastic food. Don’t let the people whining about not getting a Michelin-star experience scare you away. It’s clean, it’s delicious, it’s reasonably priced. It’s worth a visit.
Best Thai food in the area. We love going there any chance we could
This is our family’s favorite Thai takeout place. Really outstanding Penang curry and drunken noodles.
We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We were the only table dining in, and I initially thought we would get our food quickly. However, after waiting for half an hour, the staff told us they had only just started preparing our noodles. It seemed like they were prioritizing takeout orders over customers dining in. There was no apology or explanation given, which made the experience even worse. The food tasted good, but maybe we were just starving by the time it arrived. Very frustrating."
Twisted Noodles has some of the best and most authentic Tom Kha I've had outside of Thailand. There was chunks of galangal and whole kaffir lime leaves in it, which are essential to making Tom Kha properly, but most Thai restaurants skip those because they are expensive and Americans aren't used to having whole spices in their food. They are also a little cheaper than some other Thai restaurants.
Very yummy and super nice staff! 😸
Fast, decent Thai food in CH with a laid back eat in vibe and very fast take out. Folks are mellow and nice. There is another Twisted Noodle in Durham but I don’t think they are related.
For some reason we were unable to proceed with our online pick up order without paying what seemed a compulsory 20% tip on top of our pick up order, so the bill was more than we’d wanted to pay for take out. We ordered takeout “mild” Pad Thai that would have been “hot” at any other restaurant. The Duck noodle soup was good. The Gyoza Veggie steamed dumplings were on the small side for the price.
The food is good but the service is unsatisfactory. We waited for more than 45 minutes for our food even though there were only 3 occupied tables in the restaurant as they were more focused on serving pick up orders.
Wonton soup was very good.
I had ordered their fried tofu starter, a medium massaman curry with tofu and their Thai Tea. I liked their tea as it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and it had a nice flavor to it. Their massaman curry was very good and everything in it was well cooked. The service was a little slower as it took 15-20 min to get our check and the restaurant did not seem crowded. Our waitress was very friendly. I would come back again.
Best Thai restaurant in the triangle!!!
I’ve been going to Twisted noodle for over a year and have never been disappointed. The food is divine and their Thai tea always hits the spot.
The staff is always polite, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance is also very pleasant.
First time in Twisted Noodle and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the triangle. The twisted yellow curry noodles are a unique stand out and the drunken noodles are excellent!
Great food
The taste is authentic and consistent
Service was polite and accurate
Laidback atmosphere with very comfortable seating.
I like they offer five level of spiciness 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.
We ordered green curry beef today!! It is Fantastic Absolutely!! We are actually from Asia and very appreciate the authentic Asian food! Yum Yum
We are loyal customers of Twisted Noodles. Food is always excellent, service is courteous and prompt, and the prices very reasonable. One of the best Thai restaurants in the area.
I here at least once a week.
Let's start by the positives: nice atmosphere and great service. What let it down was the food. We ordered the batter-fried pork gyoza dumplings. Definitely a different way to cook dumplings but it was not better than regular pan fried dumplings. I think perhaps just deep frying the dumplings would be better than battering it up. I ordered the twisted general chicken. I went for a safer choice since I was not feeling adventurous. It was not what I expected (general tso's). What threw me off was the overwhelming taste of vinegar. Maybe the chef was a bit too heavy handed. I would rate the food a 3/5. Definitely not good but certainly not the worst.
Friendly staff, decent portion size, spicy if you wanted it spicy.. Overall a good meal.
First time to this great Thai/Asian restaurant. The duck padt tie was superb. I will definitely be going back or ordering via Uber Eats

This is the best noodle soup I’ve ever tasted
Food is AMAZING
Small place tucked into busy Chapel Hill area. Food was pretty good and I enjoyed my Tom Yum noodle soup. Wonderful service. Quick and efficient .
I placed a Togo order and sat for it to be ready I checked it in the car and she locked the door behind us. I paid for brown rice and they gave me white rice. And I order the general tso and I got four louder pieces on top of some hard broccoli. And what got me was she actually had a stank attitude when we ordered off gate.
The staff is super friendly and nice. So extra points for that. However the food is average and nothing special.
I eat here all the time, and consistently get great food and great service! The ambiance is lovely, and the servers are always helpful and tactful. My favorite dish is the coconut noodle soup with tofu - it’s like Tom Kha but even better! Highly recommend Twisted Noodle :)
the 1 star is for the very kind server and quick service. she was great.
my dad got the coconut noodle soup and i got the pad kee mao.
the coconut soup was sickly sweet and had barely any chicken or vegetables. it was genuinely as sweet as drinking a milkshake. like piña colada sweet. my dad is pre-diabetic and simply couldn't stomach eating anything other than the chicken.
the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) was okay. the chicken and broccoli were fine but sparse and the chicken was a bit dry. the noodles were also sickly sweet, i imagine from sucking up all of the sauce. speaking of the sauce, it was sparse, too sweet, and had no spice/kick to it at all. i didn't want anything too spicy, so i thought the one chili pepper would indicate something relatively spicy. it had no spice at all.
we realized our fatal mistake might have been ordering items marked as "popular dishes," which seems to be secret code for "americanized." we assumed the sweetness is to cater to american tastes. my dad says he has eaten thai food a million times and never had something quite so sweet.
i would not recommend this place to anyone who is diabetic, dislikes sugar, or wants authentic thai food.
i must emphasize that our server was great and we felt too bad to comment on the food or send anything back. she was really kind.
A little pricey but good!
Good Tom Yum Soup. Prompt service, pleasant atmosphere.
Great food!!!! Clean!!!! Was wonderful. Stopped in with our son, sorry forgot to take pics. I had chicken and rice, Hubs had Pad Thai, said it was the best he has ever had! Will be back on our next journey to Chapel Hill. Stop in! The staff were professional and took great care of our family!!! Enjoy!!!
Too spicy. They give you a scale of 1-5 where 1 is not spicy at all. 2 is too much for me. I can eat spicy food at most other restaurants.
Our appetizer and entrees were well prepared and nicely presented. The menu has a lot of choices. It was comfortable - the tables have a little more room between them than most restaurants, it is clean and nicely decorated. It was a bit more expensive than similar places.
They were closing but were patient with us
Good food too
Delicious, quick service, tasty Thai basil L1 lunch special… several options of lunch portions including salad and small appetizer.
I placed my order to go before I went next door to get a pedicure. He made sure he waited a little while so that my food would be hot when I was ready to pick it up and it was and it was delicious. I had asked him to do moderate spices rather than the full spices and it was done well
This is a super cute restaurant that I go to pretty frequently because the food is phenomenal. I strongly recommend going
Good every time I’ve had it. The drunken noodles and yellow curry are delicious!
I came in during launch delicious and clean
Amazing first experience! First rate food, service on point, and nice atmosphere. We look forward to our next visit
Have been coming to Twisted Noodle for years for pad Thai and Tom Ka Gai (coconut soup with shrimp). Was very disappointed last night, because it had been served boiling with lots of froth and tasted concentrated and burned. I will go back because of my past experiences with their food.
Food is great. Service was great. Walked in at 8:30 and had food and appetizer before 8:45.
A bit pricey compared to other places in the area but the food is great. The crispy drunken noodles are amazing.
The twisted generals chicken was fantastic. The service was prompt and friendly
The best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life!!! If I could only eat one thing the rest of my life it would be the panang curry from Twisted Noodles. The curries are exceptional. I eat here about 3-5 times a week. BEST Thai food in the triangle area hands down.
Thank you twisted noodles!!
Twisted Noodle is by far the best Thai Restaurant in the Triangle area. I highly recommend the red/green curries, beef noodle soup, and the twisted yellow curry noodles. This has got to be one of the most consistent restaurants I have dined at. The food is excellent each time I go, the service is awesome, and the restaurant is very clean. A great place to take your family or have a date night. I will be going more in the near future.
Absolutely delicious authentic Thai Food, with amazing quality service - always coming back for more!
I absolutely LOVE Twisted Noodles of Chapel Hill and can’t say enough great things about them!! I come here weekly and have tried most things on the menu and have absolutely loved everything I’ve tried!! It’s such a great feeling knowing you can order anything on the menu and it taste like perfection!!! Also love their amazing customer service!! Even when they’re short staffed and running around like crazy, they still make sure you’re taken care of!! Super child-friendly and such a peaceful environment that isn’t over-stimulating for kids! 10/10 recommend!!!
Fantastic place for casual Thai food. Everything here has tasted amazing so far. Especially all of their curry. The owners are great people.
Picked up dinner here - the process of ordering online and picking up was very smooth. The lady who helped me was nice and double checked the order. There were only a few people in the restaurant so it would be easy to get a table. My bf got the crispy drunken noodles and some crab Rangoon. I got the yellow curry (medium) with veggies. It was very good but not very spicy! We also got spring rolls which were delicious!
Amazing food!
Just left Twisted Noodle. We arrived at 8:20 and it is clearly indicated on their sign that they stop seating 30 minutes prior to close which was 9pm. They asked us to leave even though the restaurant was empty and we were there well before closing. Very upsetting as we have been here many times in the past and have always enjoyed it. That will be our last trip there.
Awsome food and cozy atmosphere. Great place to take your friend or family!
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS
Great lunch experience
I have been wanting to eat at this place for a few weeks now I finally went there for lunch and I ordered the pad Thai and I don't usually leave these type of reviews but my food really smelled like kibbles and bits dog food so maybe I will try it one more time in order something different but for now that's my opinion
Best drunken noodles around one of my favorite places to eat
Excellent food. Best red and green curry in the area.
I recently moved to the area and was in search for authentic Thai cuisine; I finally found Twisted Noodles! The food is delicious, fresh, flavorful, and always delivers (especially when you ask for spicy-- it's actually spicy). I highly recommend this restaurant.
This place, did not enjoy any food. The service was slow and the food was just bad, drenched in grease and not tasting right. Wouldnt recommend.
Food is Amazing , love this place !!
Delicious every single time we’ve had it. The Thai place were we used to live we could order a level 5 pad thai and it was hardly spicy. Here, I order a level 2 and my mouth BURNS. It’s amazing
Not very impressed by dishes in our party of 3. As they close at 3 on Sunday afternoon, we were rushed out even though we were not completely done with tea we had with meal. Asked if they had cups for hot tea to go which they did not have. Will not return and do not feel food was worth it.
Best thai food I've ever had, I always get the pad thai or drunken noodles.
Papaya salad is solid. But I was charged $7 for the curry roti and got a condiment sized amount of curry (in a condiment container) and 4 tiny triangles of roti that equal approximately 1 full sized piece. The portion size is about that of a garnish. Skip it next time and go to Hawkers instead.
Good price, great authentic food.
Fresh ingredients. Asked for extra spice and I got it. Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner of noodle dishes.
Love the food here, always a treat and satisfying experience!
the food was just okay. a little overpriced for the quality.
Disappointed. I ate here twice hoping I just had bad luck with my first try. Nope. I’ve tried the drunken noodles, pad Thai, Tom kha, generals, and various appetizers and it is just not good. I don’t understand the good reviews. Drunken noodles was in a flat, bland, brown sauce, Pad Thai tasted bitter for some reason, Tom kha was overly sweet, generals chicken had a weird sour taste. Honestly this place does not give off Thai food vibes. Foods catered to suit American palettes.
I would have given five stars however, they increased our price a dollar a meal and the drink up from 2.50 to 3.00. We were not impressed with the price increase. Do not trust the price on the web site. We won't be returning because of that reason.
Best Massaman curry I’ve ever had. They should bottle the sauce.
We love this place and get take out regularly. Their pad thai and yellow curry noodles are great.
My favorite Thai place in the area. I get the thai basil with minced chicken and it's delicious. They are really good with takeout and I must have been about a dozen times during the past year.
This is my favorite restaurant in town! Not just Thai food, but all food. During the pandemic I have picked up nice dinners for myself and others for special occasions or nights in on the weekend. Try them out!
I ordered what I hoped would be a 5 star dish with the 3-flavor fish! Unfortunately it was swimming in a bland sauce with diced bell peppers. I ate the cat fish because it was $19 on doordash, but I couldn't stomach the rest of the sauce + vegetables. 2 stars because the papaya salad was okay?
I cannot recommend the fish. Maybe I'm being harsh, but it's supposed to be one of their specials. (Picture of the aftermath, just imagine a soggy piece of catfish the size of your palm in the middle)
Ordered pad Thai with tofu and there's chicken in it. Good food but offering diet accommodation and then getting animal products is some straight up bull$h!t. Won't be supporting you anymore after this.
Great food. Ordered on the phone and they allowed curbside pickup.
The drunken noodles, green curry, and tom yum soup were really delicious, and my food was ready quickly after ordering online. I will definitely order again and try the rest of the menu!
Amazing food! I always get the red or green curry and it’s always good. I’m not a “spicy food” type of person and this stuff packs a punch but I still love it!
These guys are still cooking at their best even during COVID, great service, great staff
The drunken noodles are tasty! 😋
I lovvvvve this place, i eat here about twice a week. The pad Thai with shrimp is my go to
Love this place, definitely a go-to in Chapel Hill. Spicy drunken noodles are my favorite here but everything I’ve tried is delicious. Definitely recommend.
Good Thai food at reasonable prices
I love it. the food is very good. You must order yen ya fo, chicken garlic rice and stir fried basil Thai style it super delicious. Love the vibe there and mostly the lovely warm welcome from the waiter. I can’t , I really can’t say bad thing about the food. Honey !! Please!!!!!! Go check it out. Ps. No commission was taking for this post. It’s from a bottom of my holy heart.
I pretty much love this place; the food is really good, with a lot of options for everyone with any dietary issue. I usually get take-out, which they’re good about, and inside it’s also nice to eat inside the restaurant. Yes whole place had a nice ambience and nice staff. Once, there was a cockroach in the curry, but an event like that was a one-time thing. Anyway, I totally recommend this place!
Very good.
Not the most bang for your buck, but it does have some yummy food for vegetarians. We ordered their Massaman Curry and drunken noodles with tofu and both dishes were pretty good.. One of the best Thai options in Chapel Hill, especially for vegetarians.
Pretty tasty Thai noodle joint, though I much preferred the Durham location, which seemed to be better all-around (taste, portion-size, availability/flexibility of vegan dishes). Still, a decent spot worthy of checking out.
I had chicken pad Thai. It was delicately seasoned, best I've had around here
Summer rolls and mussaman curry very delicious!
Delicious food and friendly staff. The restaurant was super cute and cozy and the food came out pretty quickly. It was fairly busy for only being 5 pm and it was clear that tons of people get takeout from here. We had pad Thai and pad see ew and they were delicious. Also recommend the summer rolls!
Excellent food, and a genius waitress.
$$ Excellent Thai cuisine!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in CH. I keep going back for their coconut soup and noodle dishes that hit the spot - especially on a chilly day. Great service too.
The seafood Tom yum soup was excellent. Service was great too. Moderately priced.
Excellent food
Great food and customer service. Authentic flavors in food and made to order.
My favorite is the Tom Ka soup.
This Thai restaurant is definitely traditional the food is very good and they have a lot of different dishes the selection is awesome. I found out that in a week or two they are going to start making sushi and online ordering! I'm excited
Best Thai food in Chapel Hill - by far! Excellent ingredients at fair prices
If you're wondering whether to eat here, the answer is yes. Amazing pad thai. I've eaten here probably five times and each time have had excellent customer service. Needless to say, my next visit is likely in the near future. Yum!
Food was OK. Nothing to write home about, but it hit the spot. Service was very slow. Staff often seemed confused about what was happening or who was supposed to do what. I saw a young server clear a patron's drink while he was in the bathroom. He came back and had to reorder his drink. Staff was nice but perhaps they were new hires. Just seemed very disorganized.
Food was ok. Great atmosphere, better service. Young man who took care of us was impressive.
Nothing special, but easy good food.
A most uninspired attempt at Thai Cuisine. It all tasted out of a can, it was that bland and generic. It lacked the basic Thai ingredients to reach that balance which is the genius of Thai cuisine---lemongrass, galanga root, Thai basil, etc. And to make things worse, before we reached the closing hour for lunch, they scurried about flicking the lights on and off and turned the music off and stared at us. We weren’t even finished eating. Really!? Never again! Not worth the time and calories. And so rude!!
Food is good, service is always fast.
After messing up my order a couple months ago I spoke to a nice woman at Twisted Noodles who said she would write my name down to receive a credit the next time I came in. Yesterday, I tried to use my credit and spoke to Boubabar Barry- who was sure to spell his name out for me when things got tense between us. Boubabar clearly has never seen the film, " Give 'Em The Pickle," because he began quizzing me about who I talked to on the phone last time, even asking if the woman I had spoke to had a strong accent! Come on, Boubabar, let's make a connection! I live about three minutes away, don't you want me to come back? Maybe with my friends? You don't want me going a mile down the way to another Thai restaurant, right? Give me the $10 dish on the house and allow me to spend an additional $35 for the rest of my family. Do yourself a favor and watch this video. I think you will learn a lot and your customers may keep coming back!
