Sushi bar selections, plus Japanese & Thai staples, in a no-frills, strip-mall setting.
A Hidden Gem in Cary! Our trip to Sushi-Thai in Cary did not disappoint. We ordered the vegetarian sushi and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual night out. For mains, we got the pad thai and massaman curry, both were rich and delicious. If you're looking for authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine in Cary, Sushi-Thai is a must-try! π£π₯’π
Cute, Authentic and a Great choice for Thai and Sushi food in Cary.
We have ordered three veg entries, one sushi, Soup and one shrimp entry. All of the items were tasty and cooked well.
Our server was attentive and the ambiance was nice too.
Overall a nice place to try if you want to enjoy a Sushi or Thai meal.
This place was awesome overall. Went with a couple of friends. The atmosphere is such a fresh look and aesthetically pleasing. Our server was extremely attentive. We got Gyoza, Yasai Tan and Spring Rolls to start, which were all on point. As per me, I got the Super Crunch Roll, which was phenomenal as well as the Futomakin Roll, which was very good, not mind blowing, but still very tasty
Terrible experience here. Made an order to go and was told β30β mins for order to be ready. So we went next door to big lots and spent 30 mins there before returning to pickup order. (52$ value by the way so not cheap!) upon returning was told a couple more minutes. An hour after placing order the food still wasn't ready and again told βSushi is backed upβ. 75 mins after placing order and being quoted 30 mins, the food finally came. Then they thought a 10% discount on next purchase and edamame on the house was a great way to smooth things over. Then to the food, we SPECIFICALLY SAID NO WASABI OR GINGER IN THE TRAY OR TO BE INCLUDED, YET IT WAS THERE AFTER SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS AND had an overbearing taste on the food. Ridiculous.
Wont go there again and give them our hard earned money.
Overpriced, terrible service and understaffed.
Sushi Thai is hands down the freshest and most delicious sushi you will ever have! The flavors are incredible, and the quality is unmatched. The service is impeccable β warm, attentive, and always top-notch.
This authentic and quaint spot, tucked away in the heart of Cary, is an absolute gem. My daughter and I adore Sushi Thai as our go-to place for mother-daughter date nights. The cozy atmosphere and outstanding food make every visit special.
If youβre looking for amazing sushi, fantastic service, and an unforgettable dining experience, Sushi Thai is the place to be! Highly recommend!
Very extensive menu. Many vegan/ vegetarian dishes. Goods service, food, atmosphere. Reservation suggested. Busy place.
Food is amazing
Of course on Valentines Day we had to wait a little while. However, one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had. Food and service Impeccable......
We will be returning.
Best sushi in town
Thai fried rice with shrimp is not de-veined and has tails with shell on the shrimp with small shell pieces in the rice. Disappointing
Great food.
The best sushi in town! The Lobster Bomb is the Bomb!!!!
Been many times. Food and service still very good but menu change with much higher pricing especially sushi π£ , wonβt be going as often.
Great restaurant! Lots of good spins on old stuff.. best wonton in the area!
Very nice people.
But nasty bathrooms:-(
Sushi Bomb is awesome. We had Cashew chicken which is so delicious.
We have eaten at this restaurant for over 20 years, and never had the service we had this evening. We ordered and our daughter received her food and an hour later we were still waiting on our food. Never came. Asked the waiter more than 3 times how long it would be. He couldn't answer us. While we sat there next the the kitchen and watching the chefs make about 20 or more to go meals. While we sat and never got our food. If you cant service the customers in your restaurant in a timely manner, stop taking call in to go orders. This will be our last time at this restaurant which has been a favorite for over 20 years. We drove an hour to eat there and leave still hungry. Very disappointed.

Overpriced, terrible service and understaffed.
Standout in the suburb! Makes the whole neighborhood so much better
It's just not the same since the old owners left. The quality of fish has gone down. I've been a customer of theirs for as long as they have been open and it's just gone downhill since the prior owners left. The atmosphere is still the same but it feels different. There are so many people that don't seem to know what they are doing and a sushi chef that seems to be dozing on the job standing up as I waited for my togo order. It's just disappointing knowing the service I would have gotten before the switchover. I waited over an hour past the due time of my togo order and others waited longer. Don't take the orders if you can't handle the volume. And give accurate pickup times so we don't have to wait over an hour for our food.
Great food. Fantastic service. The only downside is that they have cramped in too many tables in very small space. This makes the dining area too loud. You can smell the food everywhere and it is a bit suffocating.
Sushi wasnβt very fresh. I was very disappointed
They served me the best sushi I've had since living on Maui. Far and away better than others I've tried locally, I'll be back in for more soon
Trash food and trash service
They charge automatically 18% Gratuities for even 2 adult and one kid, with poor service and that is very odd. Food used to good but now service plus food both is okay. We have better restaurants now in area and compared to that this place don't stands out anymore.
Great place, food and service.
Hands down the best Pad Thai in town.
The BEST Thai food Iβve ever eaten. The Tom Kah Yum Thai Coconut soup is FANTASTIC. I wish I knew how they got the flavors to be so perfect! π
Food is great but they seem understaffed.
Great mom-n-pop place for Sushi and/or Thai food! Love the Wendy Roll (or on the menu Weddy Roll =). Printing mistake on the menu, but that's what makes it real. Red Curry is also my go to when feeling Thai instead of Japanese. Great place to have wonton soup. Best so far in the Triangle area.
I had the worst meal of the last two years. The sushi boat was bad, the tuna tasted as if it had been frozen for a year and defrosted. The βcrispyβ roll was greasy and limp. In all we ate less than half. The scallop appetizer tasted like a βworst everβ tuna casserole and we couldnβt finish it. The βcrispy β duck was also limp, over cooked and very stringy. It was a special night for us and I had suggested Ko-an or M sushi but my wife ( who learned to love sushi at Sushi Thai) chose Sushi Thai. Bad choice
Sushi Thai is hands down the freshest and most delicious sushi you will ever have! The flavors are incredible, and the quality is unmatched. The service is impeccable β warm, attentive, and always top-notch.

My favorite sushi spot in Cary. Sit at the bar! Order the mackerel nigiri.
Very disappointing take-out experience. Our online order was supposed to be ready by 5:30 (according to their own website) but took them an extra 35 minutes. After waiting that long I ask for some sort of comp to my meal. The hostess gets the owner who eventually comes to tell me sushi takes 45 minutes and that Thai food is quicker. Doesn't comp anything but tells me I can get a 10% discount on my next meal if I call them.
Thing is she doesn't even apologize for the wait. I tell her the only reason I'm there is because their website told be to show up when I did. Doesn't care at all and is incredibly dismissive. If it takes you 45 minutes for sushi then fix your website to tell your customers that. Don't waste my time then act like I'm stupid for not knowing you take longer for sushi. We've also never waited that long for takeout sushi before or ever heard about some 45 minute rule. Never going back.
Get the coconut noodle soup!
Average place, busy, not that special of sushi. We go here on Monday nights due to our Favorite place is closed.
I got takeout, so I can't comment on service or atmosphere. The food was fine, but I thought expensive in comparison to other places in the Triangle. I got Panang that was supposed to come with green beans and had so few as to be ridiculous. I paid $9 for 2 small spring rolls that were no better than the 3 rolls I get for $6.95 in Durham. So, it was fine, but not as good a value as you can get many other places where the flavor is just as good and you can get a couple of meals out of each entree.
Sushi Thai is always a pleasure. The service on this particular visit was not up to Sushi Thai typical standard.
Drove an hour for a birthday dinner. Largest servings of the freshest sashimi! Fast friendly servers coolest decor.
OUR FAVORITE FOREVER π
Fantastic service and amazing sushi
The food isn't that great, neither is the service. Waited 45 minutes and in the end, they forgot to make one of the orders. Over pricy for no reason.
I wouldnβt recommend this place to anyoneβnot even my worst enemy. The food was terrible, and the staff was shockingly rude. It felt like they couldnβt care less about providing decent service. Iβve had more pleasant experiences at the DMV.
If youβre looking for bad food and bad attitudes all in one place, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. This place is an absolute disaster.
Sushi-Thai Cary always has the best sushi in the area! My friends and I always love coming here for their amazing sushi boats. The staff, atmosphere, and service are top notch!
Great service, food was delicious & sushi was fresh! This is our new spot!
Probably the best sushi in the area.

I had lunch today
The fish made me sick
It's very bad.
Very disappointed
Service was good and we went an hour before closing. Rolls were ok we ordered the phoenix roll and dragon. Salmon was a bit warm and pieces were big (some of you may like this but i rather raw fish in moderation). If i wanted huge pieces of raw salmon then i would order nigiri. Atmosphere has a nice ambience and the server was attentive, knowledgeable, communicative and efficient. Wish I remembered her name for a shoutout.
Great place with good food!
I choose Sushi-thai every year for my birthday. A bowl of curry and a sushi roll is the perfect way to eat dinner with my wife and enjoy it every year.
The best sushi in Raleigh, Cary, or Durham. The best sushi Iβve had anywhere in the country. Best portions, price, and host. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. Iβve been coming since 2017 and have never had a bad meal.
One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the entire USA. Best Chirashi bowl Iβve ever experienced. A+++ on all counts.
Every bite was an explosion of flavor & freshness! 5 stars is not enough!
This place was awesome overall. Went with a couple of friends. The atmosphere is such a fresh look and aesthetically pleasing. Our server was extremely attentive. It's one of my go-to Thai restaurants in RTP.
Easily the best Sushi Iβve ever had. They are always very attentive when Iβm there and have never missed a beat! This is the only place I will eat sushi at in the Raleigh area!
Google asked for an update and the update remains. I love this place hands down!
If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would be this menu. Delightful. Don't sleep on the to go container of ginger dressing for salad.
I have been coming here for years and tried a lot of dishes. Everything is always delicious and I enjoy the atmosphere. It's my go to sushi place in the area.
Donβt sleep on their Thai noodles.
The food and the atmosphere are amazing. Love the sushi
Outstanding service and food. A must place to visit.
Accidentally ordered from the wrong sushi Thai and was very disappointed. The food tastes old
When our party of 4 ready to pay the bills, we found the surcharge of 18-20% in tips. Yes, for 4 ppl! We looked and didn't see any sign upon entry nor on the menu. We could have missed it. But the waitor when leaving the bill didn't even care to mention. All service we received was food placed on the table and gave us water. Nothing special to automatically deserve these amount of tips. Food is ok. We are normally good tippers, but the taking for granted attitude and not telling us just put us off. There are many other options in the area to choose from. We have decided not to return.
Exceeded my expectations, and the service was excellent!
The food here is just about OK. The service was pretty bad, they forgot my wife and sons food order and after sitting there for half an hour when we reminded them they come back and tell us that the order got messed up so they are fixing it. In the meantime, the other members of our family had already finished their dinner. Once the check came five people they put on a 20% gratuity in the bill and when I asked them if they deserved the gratuity for the 30 minute wait for my wife and sons food the server went back , spoke to the manager, came back and tell us that we charge gratuity as it is written in the menu card so we canβt waive it off for you even though we forgot your food order. Iβm never going back here again and I suggest everybody avoids this place. All they want is your money and they donβt care about the service:
I have known this place for 25 years now. Up until covid it had a great reputation for both the preparation and the quality of Ingredients. However they started using canola or whatever bad tasting oil everywhere which ruined the taste of their stir fried. We completely stopped going there. We used to actually compliment this place for the high quality of oil they were using before. Too bad, I miss this place a lot. If they ever claim to restore the quality, I will go back for sure, but not as it is currently.
Love it
Our goto take out for Thai and Sushi! When we have eaten in, service and atmosphere top notch.
Ohh man this restaurant manager is such a commercial I canβt even explain.
We went for lunch and it was near to closing time. There was a lady at door and she gave us a place to seat and we waited for 10 mins no one showed up and we waved at some waiter then they took our order and since it was 30 mins to closing time we quickly gave our order and we also asked for dessert menu so we gave one ice cream tempura and mango sticky rice, we explicitly mentioned please bring out the desserts in the end so we can enjoy it.
First appetizer came out and then main course and dessert( fried ice cream) came out together, and the wonderful waiter said it will melt quickly. Me and my wife looked at each other and we were not sure what we have to do in that situation.
We ate our meal and then they bought out the sticky rice which is already plated and the rice and sugar thingy(white liquid) is not given and they said itβs already mixed with rice. This is the First time someone saying sticky rice doesnβt come with syrup.
We requested for Check and I gave tip for 3$
Then the furious lady restaurant manager came bragging behind us asking for more tip, my wife said this is what we can give but manager didnβt listen and sheβs demanding for more tip and we have to pay and extra 3$ more dollars.
6$ tip is not my problem, the way they treat the customer is not acceptable.
If your waiterβs are not getting paid is not a customer responsibility, management has to take care of them. Are you guys giving free food or cut down prices to customers? No right then why owners are expecting/ keeping mandatory that customer has to tip?
If youβre doing some free service and expecting customers to tip then itβs a debatable issue but this restaurant has worse service than what you see in their ratings.
This place is a go to for our family since it has stuff the kids like (fried shrimp, gyoza) as well as a lot of authentic Thai food the the adults like (papaya salad, larb, curry noodle βsoupβ). Decent prices and very friendly fly service
Great service
I usually donβt like to give out perfect scores for a review but this one is special. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years now and each time feels more magical than the last. The atmosphere is amazing and the interior design is stunning and creative. We always get a boat and it has all the sushi you could ever want. I love coming here and always will.
Food is great, ambiance is great, service is great. Only issue I had was I ordered white tuna but I didnβt get white tuna. When I brought it up to the serverβs attention and he asked the sushi chef. Sushi chef said it was white tuna. I have been eating sushi/sashimi for a while and I know what white tuna is.
GREAT FOOD!!!! AND SERVICE!!!!!!!!
Great place to get great food. Donβt forget to stop and grab a Sugar Koi treat.
I was pretty excited to see the vegan options and the availability of tofu as a protein option. I ordered the pad thai and my partner got some rice & noodle dish. Both veganized and with tofu. We both thought some pieces of tofu tasted weird but not all of them. Even the inari was odd-tasting. I jokingly made a comment "I hope I don't get food poisoning." *giggle* Well, I was not giggling a few hours later. My partner and I both got food poisoning. I felt better after 4 days, took my partner 7. Service was great, unique decor, areas need a bit of cleaning (visible dirt and grime), and the potential for food poisoning if you eat the tofu. Keep in mind, if they are lax on the tofu, what else are they lax on?? I'm disappointed this place cannot become a new go-to, but I doubt they could rebuild my trust. :/
Staff is nice and has the best sushi in town.
Best Thai cuisine ariund
I love sushi π£. I originally lived in New York City where sushi was considered very high level however after tasting the sushi at this establishment in North Carolina I believe the crown now goes to them! The spicy crab sushi was delicious! It all seems much fresher than the sushi in New York City. And then I tried some of my favorite Thai dishes such as chicken red curry and was blown away by how rich and tasty the broth was! I love this place! If you love sushi you have to try this establishment!
The spicy noods are good and itβs my fave dish. I didnβt like the yaki soba, it was sweet, which is so odd to me as a Japanese person who has eaten a bunch of Y.S. Itβs not usually sweet. It kind of ruins the dish to make it sweet, it would be better savory.
I had a wonky experienceβdo not order the red curry. It was water. We ate 1 bite and talked to the manager who was adamant about not taking it off the bill. It wasnβt worth the energy we exuded for him to take off half the priceβ¦this man was willing to risk it all for $7.
Great food.
DG dined here 7/12/23
The delicious sushi and Thai food make the wait in this popular restaurant well worth-while. Truly a great place!
Sushi rolls were huuuge, and delicious! Enjoyed a dinner with family and friends.
Overall great dining experience. The place has obviously been there for a while. The food was fantastic.
Sushi Thai used to be my favorite sushi place. Over the years it's changed. Costs a lot more and you get a lot less. Ordered a spider roll for $14 and it's 6 pieces. Ordered the spicy crap for $14 and it's 10 pieces. Food is delicious but overall not worth the price and inconsistent quantities.
Lowering to 1 star, their sales tax is not the state level and has a hidden gratuity charge inside of it.
Food taste was very bland and no veggies in fried rice. Not worth it at all. Don't waste your time.
Key features of this restaurant: expensive horrible food arrogant owner/manager who doesnβt want to hear that the food is bad hidden 18% gratuities for a group of four never EVER gonna come back dissatisfied customer for life good luck to all future diners
Man this place was amazing! The wife and I were in town for wedding and was just googling places and we luckily hit the jackpot with this place! Food was spectacular! And extremely well priced. Would recommend to anyone
Nice place,awesome foodπ
Amazing taste & portion sizes. The service was friendly & quick.
Excellent sushi! Wish we lived closer, but it's definitely a stop next time we're in town!
The server was very rude we asked for the booth he just dis regarded the request and was very entitled about it, will never be back again for just the way we were treated.
Awesome sushi rolls and great service. Definitely be back.
The food was delicious, we had beef ramen and a set of rolls and sushi and a children's set. The ramen broth was so rich and delicious. I would come back here again if I lived nearby. The staff was friendly, our server did a great job. There was such a loud group of people sitting next to us that we felt uncomfortable. But this does not apply to food and service
Absolutely never again..I felt we was discriminated against. The food was horrible.
Step into the world of Sushi-Thai Cary and be prepared for an extraordinary culinary adventure. My son's latest birthday celebration was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence in all aspects - food, atmosphere, and hospitality. Thank you, Sushi-Thai Cary, for an unforgettable experience! #asiancuisine #sushilovers #thaifood #sushithaicary #asianfoodie
Our experience was fabulous because of our gracious Thai server. He radiated positivity and happiness our whole experience! I didnβt get his name unfortunately but I will be back for him!
The atmosphere at Sushi-Thai Cary was undeniably lovely. The dim lighting, tasteful decor created a pleasant vibe for dining. Unfortunately, that's where the positivity ends for me.
The service was painfully slow. We waited a significant amount of time for our orders to be taken, drinks to arrive, and food to be delivered.
The bill reflected the higher-end ambiance, but the quality of the food didn't quite match the price tag. My basil stir-fry was particularly disappointing. It was incredibly watery, lacking in flavor, and the chicken tasted bland.
This, by far, exceeds any other sushi and thai place I've been to in years. I've tried all the places in Chapel Hill, some in Durham, this place is top-notch for sushi and thai food. I highly recommend Sushi-Thai of Cary as the #1 place to find authenticity in their sushi. The service was excellent, and they were very attentive to detail. Exceeded my expectations. The sushi was fresh, great tasting, and presented impeccably.
I'm surprised how this restaurant has such nice reviews. Server was amazing. He kept asking if we were okay. Chef served the bitter tofu and vegetables were not fresh as well. We gave $2.5 as a tip and they came running after us saying that their servers don't get any salary here and are only surviving on tips. I've never heard of this before. How can a restaurant doesn't pay their servers. Should protest against such restaurants. They suggested that if we don't pay his tip then they might fire him saying that he's not doing good job lol. We ended up giving $5extra for this drama just for sake of server's job. Very unprofessional and unethical behavior. Would never visit this place again.
Sushi Thai has been a family favorite for over a decade now. No matter how many sushi places we try in the triangle, we always rank Sushi Thai as our favorite spot.
Fell in love with this place from the first time we visited. Very good food, clean place, quality service, great atmosphere! I keep coming back for more! I've been looking for a restaurant that serves high-quality Japanese food and of all the many places I've tried, they serve the best π Highly recommended!
I went for lunch and ordered myself a Thai dish that came with the salad. As I was eating my salad, I saw a dead fly soaked with the ginger dressing in it. I complained about it but didn't get any response. I let it go.
I gave them a second chance. I went there for dinner. The food was dry and the meat was tough. Again, I asked to get it have it corrected but the service was slow. I didn't care to waIt any longer. They didn't give any compensation.
Once a great restaurant has now gotten worse. The food got expensive but the food quality has gone really bad. Not going back.
The food is always good and authentic at Sushi Thai. Unfortunately, there was clearly not enough wait staff to serve the crowd in the restaurant when we visited. Dining room was also a bit cool for our taste but it had been very cold outside. Overall, I do recommend visiting if you are looking for a good quality meal.
Great service and sushi! Will definitely be returning.
The food was ok. It just felt very rushed and very loud.
I think i may not be used to the food. The service is great. Very responsive waitress. Nice atmosphere. When i went there it was around 1pm. Not many people.
First time at this restaurant, not the first time having Japanese or Thai.
Got the Masaman Curry (Beef), Dragon Roll, and Tuna roll.
Itβs not worth coming in the evening. Theyβre too packed, the food was delayed because of the amount of people, the servers looked frazzled, and the food was okay.
If youβre the type of person who likes sitting right next to people while you eat then come here.
Came here because my usual Thai place closes at 8:00pm and this was open late.
I've been eating the Pad Thai here for 20 years. It's amazing every time.
Very tasty sushi. My friends enjoyed the thai food as well.
I am a big fan of Sushi Thai and consider it a favorite. However we ordered food on Saturday evening and were very disappointed. The soup, tempura and dumplings were fine (not great). But we ordered something new - Spicy noodles- and they were awful. First there was NO spice, hardly any flavor at all, and the whole thing was totally oily/greasy. It also did not contain all the vegetables listed for the dish. We ended up throwing the rest of it out. I hope this is not a sign of declining quality. Please do better Sushi Thai.
