This is my family’s favorite Asian restaurant in Rochester! My daughter & I eat here once a week now, she always get the Shrimp Fried Rice where I have been getting the Sesame Chicken. They are both 10/10 delicious!

It is important to note Shui is a husband-wife team so the food is top notch as it is all made fresh in the kitchen but if you are a party of more than 2 it will take some time to receive your food. It is absolutely worth the wait! I thoroughly enjoy the different types of food available; this is an underground hit! More people need to patronize this place!

The server, though, we felt, was very distracted. She wrote down our orders on her note book, yet brought us the wrong order twice! She did apologize, but it felt awkward as she wasn't too busy to be that distracted. Anyway, the food was great. At first, we tried the tomyum soup. The server forgot to give us the hotsauce tray. We didn't enjoy the soup as much. The level of spice wasn't enough for us, so we asked to make the rest of our order spicier. And to our surprise we got it! It was just perfect! The Padthai was our favorite! We also loved the chocken satay and the fried calamari that we had ordered for our appetizer. For dessert, we tried their mango sticky rice. It wasn't bad, but I've had better. Overall, it was great food, but service could probably be better.

Surprised and impressed by this place! We were seated right away (on a Saturday night) and opted for the patio. It was a lovely evening and we enjoyed the patio lights of the adjacent restaurants and the fresh air. We ordered too much food but it was all really good. The summer rolls appetizer was simple with a delicious dipping sauce. We ordered pineapple fried rice to share which tasted really fresh and not greasy or oily. My entree was a mango tofu dish which was very flavorful, on the sweet side, and absolutely yummy with jasmine rice. The boys very much enjoyed their chicken dishes; curry and spicy basil. For 4 dishes, 2 appetizers, and 2 fancy drinks our bill was not bad at all. Nice experience and will come back.

I rarely give 5 stars but I felt like due to the experience and the food it was worth rounding up.
I ordered seafood soup and dumplings and I was at awe. The food was delicious and my companion agreed. She ordered a different soup but also ordered dumplings and she finished her meal before I. Everything is reasonably priced and the customer service was satisfactory as well.
Will definitely be returning to this cozy establishment.

Still one of the best places to eat in Rochester. James is always friendly and the food is always delicious . He has vegetarian options as well as the ability to make most meals gluten free if asked. The new location in village gates is good looking and open on Sundays. Don't forget to order the edamame.

Ordered takeout. Shrimp pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai, and fried calamari. Everything was delicious and piping hot. Great food on a cold day.

Food was lacking flavor, dishes were missing ingredients from the menu and replaced with others. Overall kinda disappointed and I’d rather spend a bit more money for higher quality, better tasing food elsewhere.

Don’t really understand why they only got 4.2 stars. The food is so delicious and I loved every bite of it.

We don’t like to write a negative review about any small business. However, six of us met for lunch at Shui, and The lunches were delivered in a staggered fashion, minutes apart for each person. The last person‘s lunch came out a half hour after everyone else’s. The food was not flavorful. We will not be returning.

I’m giving 5 stars because Shui has always been a fantastic place in Rochester to get Thai food. I’ve been going here since they had a place on Main St downtown probably about 5 years ago.
Unfortunately, they got rid of 2 of my favorite dishes in Thai Curry section. I was told they were coming back. They never did.
Today, I noticed that the quality of beef has diminished significantly, but prices went up. Can’t stand when restaurants do this.

Service took forever, meals were delivered in different time. Part of the order was confused. The food is just OK, not the best ingredients.

Can't rate the food because we've been twice during published hours online and on their window (even had their open sign up), and no one was there. Not sure why this continues to happen?

Ordered the Panang curry, and the rice was dry and undercooked, the chicken was unnaturally soft and chewy, and the peppers were weirdly hard.

While the food is great I don't like the ordering process especially since I was dining in. You have to order, pay and then sit down. The food is awesome though so it makes up for the lack of service.

We placed a huge team lunch order today with 30+ items and were absolutely thrilled with how delicious everything was! Every item was beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients, neatly labeled, and carefully packed for pick up so it was still hot back at the office. There was barely a morsel left and the team raved all day after going back for seconds and thirds. Thank you, Shui Team, for all of your hard work!

The worst pad Thai I've ever had. Noodles were rubbery and undercooked. Pad Thai isn't supposed to be a soup, yet that's how it came. In a soupy, wet bowl. Please save yourself the torture. The summer rolls has tomatoes in it, which was odd. But kinda decent

Everything was fresh and delicious. The chicken is so soft and tender, and the eggs rolls have the best crispy outside. The volcano beef is my favorite meal; lots of flavor and spice. I’ve dined in, and gotten delivery, and it was always a fresh and tasty meal. Tonight’s delivery was super fast too.

We found a maggot in our beef and broccoli. Won’t be ordering from here ever again.

There are better places to get Asian food. Went at about 12:30 during the week. The cashier was very rude and was not helpful, brought us the wrong food the first time and the food got cold way too quick. Prices are moderate and still not worth it.

Impressive menu! I have been to Shui a few times. I have tried the masamaun curry and the volcano beef, both delicious and both gluten free! I also like that they have boba tea! There are so many options on the menu. The staff has always been friendly and helpful with my questions about what items are, or can be made, gluten free. There has only been one time when I went but they were actually closed (despite the hours listed on Google). Overall, a wonderful experience and delicious food! I will be coming back and recommending to friends and family.

I ordered only the tom kha chicken soup. Too Sour and no coconut milk flavor. Its greasyy.

The service was quite poor. I was the only one in there and I struggled to get a glass of water. I ordered the Shrimp and Garlic lunch special, and it was SUPER salty. Hard to eat. I was excited to check it out too because of the great reviews.

I went to dinner with two girlfriends last night and the food was phenomenal. Everything was super fresh and extraordinary delicious. The woman who ran the restaurant was all alone (no staff in the kitchen or on the floor) but still cooked our meals to perfection. Absolutely will come back

Recently moved to Rochester, across the st from Village Gate. I ordered their lunch special $7.95 garlic chicken & Lo mein. Both dishes were hot, fresh, & delicious. I’ve tried a few other Chinese spots and Shui Asian is the best by far.

Looking for somewhere in Rochester to get fried Thai bananas and Thai tea. The bananas were oily/soggy and not actual fried Thai bananas. They were $4.50 for two spring roll wrappers filled with a few banana slides and served with pancake syrup. The Thai tea tasted like water and the boba was sour.

Maybe my bad for thinking it was going to be Thai fried bananas? - but I guess it is “Asian fusion”

Just opened the mango sticky rice and it’s also got a black hair on it (before opening it)

Maybe the food here is good, just don’t order the dessert or Thai tea.

Excellent 4 dishes, dessert, and service
My Asian friends thought we should try the place. We shared the variety of entrees as we often do. All thought every dish was excellent - and I've never seen this group give such good marks all around.
They need to keep that cook....

Wow!, Nice hidden gem here. Stumbled upon it by accident at Village Gate. Soooo glad I did. Staff was amazing and prompt, Had the Triple Crown dinner.....it was outstanding! I will frequent this place whenever possible.....

I enjoyed my food. The coconut pineapple rice was 😋 delicious. I also ordered Thai been and noodles. My guest ordered grills squid, I thought it was good also but she felt it it was too done. She's a su raw shi eater so it's understandable. I plan to go back😊

A fave place to order from -- I haven't hjad anything that has disappointed me yet. A personal favorite is the Gaeng Panang Curry (veggie/tofu) that always is fantastic.

Food is so good. Not a lot of people eating in. Lots of takeout. We got steamed dumplings, lo men and panang. All the food was great. The service was great.

The employees didn't even care that we were there. We had to get up and hunt someone down for everything. There were only 2 or 3 tables occupied during our visit. The staff stayed in the kitchen to ignore guests.
I don't know how they can survive with such poor customer service.

This is some of the best Thai cuisine I had in awhile! My wife and I were trying to find someplace new to eat and came across Shui. We called ahead to make sure dine-in was available because we did not see anybody dining in. Mark this as a general lesson, just because all of the tables are not filled (which they should be) does not mean the food is not delicious and the experience is not great. Everything was perfect and the food was amazing! This is one of our new favorite restauraunts that we will be visiting for many times to come. Thank you Shui Asian Fusion at Village Great!

Food was delicious and very quick to come out. Lunch specials are awesome. Wife and I both ate a meal, she got a bubble tea and with a 20% tip still only paid $25. Outdoor seating is nice, but sometimes people just haphazardly walk by instead of using the standard pedestrian area.

Hello all. Before I review any restaurant or food place I try to visit it a few times. Consistency is very important for me, especially as I recently moved to Rochester and I’m still discovering places. Shui Asian Fusion place has become one of my go-to spots. They have very affordable Thai and Asian food and whether I order for delivery or pick it up, I am satisfied every time. Their food is fresh, tasty, and the portions are very generous. I love their Pad Thai and rice dishes. I definitely recommend this place for any Asian food fans.

Consistently good food for decent prices

I placed an order for pickup. The spring rolls were good, nice and crispy. The pad see yu was ok but the choice and quality of vegetables was not great. I ordered the Thai basil rice but was given pad thai by mistake. The pad thai had good flavor and the chicken was tasty but it wasn't what I had dordered. The food was still steaming hot when I got home, which I did appreciate. Overall, there are other Asian/Thai places with better quality food for the same price. I will try this place again but I was not satisfied with this initial experience

Food was okay! Had better but, concern is how they treat white patrons completely different from how they treated us. They went out their way to give the white couple a warm welcoming greetinh as far what we received was how can I help you! Treat people equally our money is the same as white people as well. Came here mid-afternoon for lunch on the patio. Ordered pork Thai dumplings and they were delicious. After that, we split chicken Pad Thai order that had just a little bit of spice
and it was perfect. Came out steaming hot.. Loved the dumplings so much, we ordered 2 servings to go home for the kids!

We have ordered from this restaurant four times this summer. They are very consistent, which is rare. Every single time our order has been prepared and delivered quickly. The quality is superb. Delicious food (my favorite is the volcano beef). After our first order, we decided to ask for some customizations. They prepared everything exactly how we asked. I’m really impressed. This place will always be a favorite of ours!

This is definitely not authentic thai food.
Pad thai was extremely watery and horrible. I had to almost make myself puke from the amount of sugar. Wasn't even close. Pad thai is a simple popular thai dish. If they failed that dish. I don't want to try another dish. I'm from that region so I know what to look for. This is by far not it.

My husband's and I discovered this place on Christmas Eve (not many places open on Christmas Eve!) Our meals were so fresh tasting and delicious. The soups were fragrant and packed with flavor. We don't go anywhere except Shui's for Thai/Asian dining. You can't beat the price either. With that being said, don't go on a weekend and expect a quick meal. Also, they do not have a liquor license yet, but I believe it is planned in the future.

Amazing pad see eu. Not in love with their version of spring rolls but they were very fresh with lots of veggies so I'd imagine most would like them. (They have tomato which I don't like) but man their pad see eu was SOOO GOOD

Ordered the pad Thai, sticky rice in banana leaf, and Kung po chicken. Each was very flavorless, have had better Asian food many other places in town.

Great prices and portion sizes - especially their lunch specials. I've gotten take out from here several times for lunch, as it's right by my work, and plan on continuing to come here for lunch!

This is hands down my favorite Thai place in Rochester and I’ve been to almost all of them. I’ve been a fan of this restaurant before they moved and never write reviews, but feel like I have to for this place. Since moving the in service is slower, but that’s because she is the only server. That being said, she is amazing and does not move slow opposed to other places where service takes forever and you see everyone standing around! If it is busy you will wait a little for your food, but it’s amazing. Also, real Asian food like this place offers isn’t just a “10 minute “ ordeal. Asian food is also very often served family style, so dishes coming at different times isn’t that odd for the cuisine. If you’re not willing to potentially wait then it’s your loss because the food is beyond incredible and the owners are the sweetest people in the world. I truly hope they stay in business for many years to come because I don’t know where else I’d go for not only amazing Thai food, but some of the most authentic flavorful food in Rochester.

I ordered take out from Shui Asian Fusion for the first time tonight and it was just okay.

We got the rice paper rolls as an appetizer and there was no basil in them. Instead they were filled with brown sprouts, iceberg lettuce and a way-too-squishy and definitely old tomato. We couldn't eat them.

We also got pad thai, which to our fault/ inexperience with the restaurant is really JUST noodles and whichever protein you choose. Had we known we would have gone veggie.

All around not great and we definitely won't order again.

Drove in to eat at California Rollin only to be disappointed that they had closed their doors. Was then going to go to the gate house but there was a long wait so we settled on Shui. OMG!!! The food is fantastic! I was not in the mood for Asian food but the second I tasted it my mind was changed and in fact Chinese food hit the spot. They seemed a bit under staffed but that did not reflect on the quality of the food. Will definitely be coming back.

Been craving Thai curry -- Got the Gaeng Massamum Curry with chicken -- with onions, potatoes, peanuts and coconut milk. Only like three pieces of potato, but still tasted great. It hit the spot, although I would have liked it a little spicier -- I'm sure it's possible on request. The portion was huge -- I was full and I only ate half. My friend got a beef dish and it was just as big. We also both got the fresh spring rolls, they were big and filling, although they had tomatoes, which I haven't really seen in spring rolls before. Good value.

The food here was delectable and affordable! We went for lunch and got the lunch specials for only $6.95 each!! The dishes were sizable, and very scrumptious. They have very many different and authentic flavors. The person I was with got some type of mango infused dish (which I, honestly, thought did not sound appetizing), but it was soooooo good. Both sweet and savory 🤤🤤 DEFINTIELY give the Malaysian white coffee a try!! Will definitely be going back here, and would recommend to anyone 😊😊😊

I ate some yesterday and I can still taste it. There food is an explosion of flavor. You must try. Warning though. You will be addicted. Also. If you dine in there is some soothing mood music playing all the time. Makes your time there am experience. The tasty food too

This place has AMAZING food. I absolutely love their pad see yu. It is the best I’ve had in Roc. The image is a dinner portion - really big, great price! They also have awesome lunch specials - amazing value. I’ve had a few different things here including some appetizers (chicken satay was super tasty as was the calamari) and the banana roll dessert (sweet and delicious). Definitely give this place a try.
