We arrived for a late lunch. The atmosphere is very relaxing and nice. The lunch specials is an amazing bargain with dishes at $9.99. It ends at 3:30pm. You choose your choice of protein from chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu and then choose rice or from several noodle dishes or curries
I had Pad Thai and my husband beef broccoli They each also came with two fried egg rolls. The food was good and I will try a curry on our next visit
I would rate Thai Ruby 4.5 (but I have to choose either 4 or 5 stars) - it will probably be our 'go-to' Thai Place in the future.
The restaurant is very convenient for us, the atmosphere is better than fast food but not too upscale. The service was excellent & the food was very good.
We had the Pork Potstickers for an appetizer ($7) and then Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Chicken ($16) and Noodle Soup with Beef Stew ($16). I ordered 'Medium spicy' which is one level spicier than their default - but it wasn't very hot - the additional Thai Chili sauce they gave me fixed it easily. We went for lunch but ordered dinner portions because we love leftovers - the quantities were more than enough for 2 meals for each of us and we were very happy.
Food was good for the price. They have very reasonable lunch specials for $9.99. Ordered the beef and broccoli which comes with steamed rice. You can pay extra for brown rice but they do not allow to pay extra for fried rice or noodles. Atmosphere is nice. Service a little slow but food was fresh.
Classic Thai restaurant in the area. Atmosphere from inside is very dark and tables are very near which lacks privacy.
We ordered Ruby fresh roll which was just a lettuce wrap in rice paper without salt or any seasoning, I would not recommend that. Same with steamed dumplings, they were just blended without any flavors.
Panang curry and drunken noodles with veggie was also bit okay in flavor and test. We asked to make it spicy and they just simply added red crushed peppers on top.
Our server was great, overall service was great but food wise it was an okay experience.
After researching ~100 restaurants for a valentine’s date night, decided on Thai Ruby:
-Authentic ambience/decor transports you instantly to exotic Thailand
-Food excellent taste and plating. Portions large (plates themselves larger than standard size).
-Owner + waiter visited several times each. Very helpful. My water glass was filled ~8 times.
-We loved the Tom Ka soup and the desserts especially.
-Price excellent (budget friendly). We ordered everything in the pictures, which came out to total ~50 (tax included) + tip. Value cannot be beat.
-Would highly recommend
Wonderful cozy restaurant. The place reminds me of in-home dining , the service is with a smile and positive. The food flavors are good - we did order beef fried rice, flat noodles spicy with shrimp, Thai red curry , crab meat soup , fried pork pot stickers and ended with coconut. Ice cream. The service takes time but the wait is worth it. All the flavors were good , one qualm was there were only 2-3 tiny bits of crab in the soup and the fried rice could've helped with a little more of flavoring. A 'will visit again' place.
This lS THE BEST Thia Restraunt lve ever been to. Its a small hole in a shopping center. It is very clean. The restrooms well kept. Ive been here 3xs now and lm sold on this being my go to. Every meal was prepared correctly and was served hot. The wait staff has been there awhile thats a sign of good management. Chris was our waiter each time and he was attentive but not all up in our conversations. The food is really really prepared well. The ingredients are fresh. It doesnt get any better.

Ramen orders for kids was tiny but still cost ten dollars. Pad Thai portion was tiny and overpriced, also not anything worth paying extra. Considering we used to go to this place years ago, to see them skimp on portions, not even have broth in a ramen they claimed and broth, we will find another Thai place. It’s worth driving further to not have to have a subpar experience.
Food was very nicely prepared, and service was excellent!
The best Asian restaurant in Flower Mound! The food is extremely authentic, and the interior is like an ancient Thai mansion!
It is truly a portal to Thailand in Flower Mound.
Thank You Thai Ruby for over 11 years of amazing Thai food!
I have been ordering from Thai Ruby for almost a decade now. Food has consistently been good. It's very difficult to find your go to places and never be disappointed. Please keep up the quality
Horrid. Duck is rubbery and not crispy in the least. Veggies/mushrooms are overdone and taste like they are from a can. Rice tastes like it had been sitting for some time, perhaps overnight. Wife's curry tasted like it was from a can. Tofu was overdone. The ONLY good thing was the dumplings, and even then they were just okay. Not worth the price in the least. Panda Express makes better food, and that is seriously saying something. Thai Ruby? More like Thai Doodie.
Delicious food and large portions
The elevated flavor in these offerings are to the moon! Loved the Rad-Nar and the Wonton soup, as well as the Pine fried rice! You've just got to try this place. Really!!
The atmosphere is nice and dim except for a bright light that was shining right at us, very distracting (back right booth, by restroom). The chicken satay with peanut sauce was good. Chicken fried rice was ok (very bland). The Pad Woon Sen we ordered was cold, vegetables were cold, shrimp tasted fishy and overall taste was very bland. Both dishes had no spice to them. Service pays very good attention to allergies (even cook came out to discuss the allergy)!
We really wanted to like this place as it is close to home. However, after three visits we are done. The food was mediocre as was the service.
Ordered the Tom Ka soup with tofu. Tofu was in massive chunks. The soup had no flavor at all. Was hard to eat from the huge pieces. Could tell they were just tossed into the broth. Ordered the Thai ruby sampler. Fried wontons were burned, fried shrimp was so greasy that when I bit into it my mouth filled with oil. Absolutely disgusting. Server was nice. Restaurant is nice except the stench of old carpet. Nedds steam cleaning. Won't be back.
Definitely as bland as bland can be. Got pad Thai and there was zero flavor, no peanuts, no anything (other than chicken and the extra egg I asked for). It wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t what pad Thai tastes like. Also ordered medium spice and there was legitimately no spice to it. The chili paste/sauce we got on the side saved that but in itself, the dish just had no flavor.
Delicious food and great service!!!
With all respect, this is a Chinese restaurant. Stop calling Thai. Poor quality food.
Pricey food. Very small portions for the price. Too much soya. Even the spicy 🌶️ items are not even level 1 spicy. Very bland food. Not going back again.
I will eat here until the day I die
The good was amazing
Thank you Nikki and a Chris for making this day being just great
Just first time try this amazing place! Wow, food is so delicious, and service is absolutely top notch.i will recommend everyone here to try real Thai food.
I would rate Thai Ruby 4.5 (but I have to choose either 4 or 5 stars) - it will probably be our 'go-to' Thai Place in the future.

Tom kah gai is the best!
I love the food here. It’s my favorite Thai restaurant.
I read the reviews before ordering. Not worth the price tag. Had pad thai and it wasnt special or worth 14.99. Crab rangoon are not like other places so expect different of you order them. The inside was quite and empty. Spent almost 30 on just these 2 items. Yikes.
Really great place for Thai food! We love the pad Thai and the yellow curry.
This was a surprisingly wonderful meal. Been very disappointed in local Thai restaurants lately but this one was fantastic. The food was cooked perfectly, atmosphere fantastic, service extraordinary. I asked the waiter for his favorite dish and it was the salmon and shrimp fried rice. Did not disappoint. Will definitely be returning.
My go to Thai place. Food is great and service is good. Plenty of options.
Ordered $100 worth of food from uber eats. Worth every penny. Fried rice, Rice noodles and yellow curry were crazy good. My wife recommended this place as she already tried last time and we had friends visited our home, so we ordered the food. Great taste, good quantity and yes we recommend.

I typically don't leave bad reviews, but I'm very disappointed in the food at this restaurant. Ordered shrimp and chicken dishes and the waitress blamed the kitchen for making the dishes incorrectly. Also neither the chicken nor the shrimp had any flavor. Ordered tea and the water wasn't hot and I was a little disappointed that one of the tea bags was from Kroger. At least the mango and sticky rice was good.
I tried this restaurant for the first time today & it SO delish!
Amazing flavors authentic taste. Be careful with the spice level. Great ambiance.
I've had food from here before and it was good, but online hours need to be updated.. it seems they close at 3pm, not 330pm as stated on here. Ended up going out of my way unnecessarily 😢
I love Thai food 😋. I don't regret it. It's a good place. I strongly recommend dating. The staff is so kind. I will back🥰
Food taste good, atmosphere was nice. BUT, rice was terrible. It's not Jasmine rice as stated on the menu, and cooked bad. An Asian restaurant serving poorly cooked rice was just very sad. Everything else was very good.
We had ordered a to-go lunch. The fried rice was beyond BLAND. They charge $19 for it and it was so not up to the mark. It was literally plain rice mixed sparsely with egg and 4 boiled broccoli (unsalted) 4 steamed carrots with boiled mixed seafood. Absolutely no flavor, will not be ordering here again. You cant charge so high and give below par food.
Tried the Pad ke maow and it was very nice. Nice service too. Sunday opens for takeout only.
First Off reviews on Yelp are more accurate because they cannot be paid for removal of review like google reviews can. Do what you will with that information. Secondly if you had authentic thai food then you know this place is not it. I ordered to go and egg rolls tasted like they are straight from the freezer box it probably came in. They were cold. Second dish I ordered was the yellow curry with Tofu and vegetables. Yellow curry was okay until found pieces of chicken in my food. I'm vegetarian, so i couldn't even finish it. Paid over $30 bucks for a meal that was very subpar I will give them kudos for decor it is very elegant inside when i went in to pick up. Needless to say I will not be back, their are far better Thai Places in the DFW area.

We are serious Thai food lovers. Our very first take out order was utterly disappointing. I ordered chicken fried rice and instead received beef fried rice. When I called back, manager was nice but couldn’t provide substitute. Pad ke Mow was okay. Other items had no flavor. Will not go back.
Went a couple times over the last month and this place is always excellent!
The decor was nice and restaurant looked clean and facy. But im not sure how this place ranked higher than the other Thai place near by. the food here was Not as Yummy. the Pad Thai was flat, no flavor. very powdery and veggies had no flavor and not appear fresh. Pad Ke Maow about the samen noodles were like powdery mush. This is probably the worst Thai restaurant I've ever been to. The fried egg rolls tasted the same as the frozen ones i get from frozen food section at Wal-Mart. ☹. I couldn't even clean my plate. Not impressed with food at all.
Great Food!
Beautiful Restaurant, Fantastic Service, Amazing Food
This place is awesome. Service is good and the food is excellent. BYOB which makes it even better. We have had 6 of us dine there and the total bill was around $120. This is our go to Thai place.
Amazing food! Great service!
slightly pricey, but great food and service. It's a BYOB! so that saves $$.
Ordered ginger chicken and could not taste any ginger - zero bite. A plain flavor is the most disappointing when ordering Thai food, unfortunately. We also ordered the ramen, very plain.
You would not expect this quality in a strip mall restaurant, quiet, serene and well ambianced. The food was obviously from fresh ingredients, prepared with care and well presented. Traditional Thai with a flair, the flavors were balanced with sauces not overpowering and nuances were enhanced, not drowned.
This is a gem.
Did take out chicken fried rice had no flavor
Nice restaurant with a good ambiance and great interior design!
The food was barely spicy, even when we decided to order a ‘hot’ level spice for the basil fried rice. You may want to opt for their ‘thai level hot’ for a good deal of spice in your food.
The fried tofu starter was decent, sweet & sour tofu with jasmine rice (medium) was kinda okay!
Feedback on experience: the table attender was way too
Invested in checking on us multiple times every few minutes - love the service, but it took away from our time to indulge in a good conversation during our dinner :)
We have tried Thai Rubi three time because we want to support local and every time it’s been okay. Cute intimate place. But the food has not tasted authentic. The vegetable dish lacked spices. Last night the Chicken Sa-teh was fried. The appetizer sampler was heavily fried. Crab Rangoon didn’t taste or look like one.
Attention to detail was so so cute and food was delicious.
Great menu, with lunch specials. Something for anyone.
This is literally the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to in my life. I have gone to dozens of Thai places in Texas and Washington DC. I will say, you’ve never had food like this. It’s divine. I had the Pad Kee Mow, level medium. It was brilliant. Get the crab Rangoons… I GUARANTEE you have not had real ones before. I never did. I didn’t realize i had never had real crab Rangoon’s until today.
This place is like falling in love.
My heart is broken today. It is my wedding anniversary, and we are separated. I got lost meeting a co-worker and happened upon this place. What a wonderful accident. I had the weekday lunch special. Cashew nut with tofu, two little spring rolls, and a hot green tea. The presentation was gorgeous. The food perfect lunch size, but a little mild. I asked for hot sauce and fish sauce. Perfection! Thank you for making my day brighter!
I have been going to Thai Ruby for at least 5 years now and they never disappoint! The food is always fresh and favorable and they've had some of the same servers and management for years. It feels like a true family dining experience and I wouldn't change a thing! They should open up another location though that's the only thing I would say because the food and service is just that good!
This place has really good food! If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out.
Highly recommend this place. Have eaten here 3 times and each time was fantastic. Spicy and delicious. If you ask for hot, you will get hot. Curries are amazing. Tom Ka is the best. I prefer Spicy and they don't disappoint.
Update 7/8/2023
Don't try the rice dishes, because they were too buttery. But service has majorly improved!
Original Review:
Slow service, but great pad see ew and pad kee mow! It took 45 minutes (at the minimum) for us to finally get our food after seating, but the food thankfully exceeded expectations and came out delicious.
The food is excellent, but go for another place if you're in a rush to eat!
Consistently excellent food and service, based on 15 years of coming here
My wife and I have been coming here for 7 years. I've never seen a restaurant be so consistent with their food. It never disappoints. We had some friends from Thailand and we took them here, and were blown away with how authentic the food was. Love this place!
We have been regulars here for YEARS. The food has always maintained amazing quality and absolutely never disappoints. Will come here for years to come!
Inconsistently spicy. We LIKE the food here, have ordered many times. However we have been UNABLE to get mildly spicy dishes. When we ask for “mild” it is made with NO spice. Very bland. When we ask for “medium” spice it’s covered in chilis- even when we pick (the big ones) out, dishes were too hot to be enjoyable. (See picture) I’d assume “hot” and Thai hot would be great for people who love that sort of thing,,, that’s just not us. Wish we could get a #1 or #2 on a 1-10 scale, but even when we request it we get either a 5 or 0. Have explained this on the phone and asked how we should order- still end up at “no spice.” Nice quality food, but frustrating for the inconsistent spice level.
Lovely atmosphere, amazing service, delicious food. First time experience was excellent and I plan on returning soon.
We tried fried wonton, chicken satay, and the massaman (yellow) curry. All were excellent. You can't go wrong with this great place.
The service it's cordial and fast and the food is amazing everyone has to try the coconut soup 🍲! :)
Authentic Thai experience!
One of the best Thai restaurants we’ve eaten at.
The food is so tasty. Loved the panaang curry with fried tofu.
Best thai food in the area. I love their Tom Kha soup. Great customer service.
Their Pad Thai was delicious! Loved the beautiful decor also. We had 6 in our party and everyone loved their choices.
I love the food here. We have been several times, and it is always excellent. For appetizers, we like the crab rangoon and chicken satay. The peanut sauce with the satay is delicious! The curry dishes are amazing. I like the atmosphere - quiet and elegant. One of my favorite Thai restaurants!
Food was good but small portions and food was not hot.
First time. Loved it. Prices where a little pricey, but worth it for our special occasion. BYOB.
We used to love this place but have recently not had a good experience. The last straw was hair in our curry. Their most recent health inspection earned an 83. Hoping they can turn things around.
The server and the lady owner aren’t very hospitable to the guest.
We ordered drunken noodles, and our dish was full of onions, with only one noodle. When we spoke to the server, he said that’s how things are made. He’s been working there for years now, and only caters to the owners, and not the guest.
Our red curry had only a spoon or 2 of curry in it and felt dry. They said there is nothing they can do about it.
Also the spice level was a lot higher than what we requested.
All our request were met with ‘sorry, nothing can be done about this’.
We are loving Yummy Thai way more, and glad they are here!
Had take out and it was fast and food hot when I returned home. Had the pad thi chicken and it was delicious.
Great place, good quality. Really nice staff and best Thai food in FloMo...
A very poor excuse for Thai food. Fried Rice with Pineapple was tasteless and soggy. The Noodles with Chicken was also boring. We started with Lara Chicken and instead of serving it with lettuce wraps, it was presented as a salad 🥗. Would not recommend this Restaurant for Thai Food.
I absolutely love their pad thai and crab ragoons! I've always had take-out and it's always hot and delicious.
Place is really nice decorated. I've had better Thai food nearby though...
Best wonton soup ever! Chicken satay was delicious! Great server!
Great food and different look of traditional dishes. Was really busy with Togo orders. My overall experience is, I will eat here again next time.
The only bad thing I have to say was my water glass was dirty on the bottom I could see thru the bottom and see grease smudges.
So disappointed. I can see most customers are who don't know the original Thai food is. Left 99% of my dish. It was so bad. Not worth the money. Never go again.
Fantastic food
Great food, great atmosphere and great people!
I was not happy with the Orange chicken. It was like eating over fried popcorn chicken without much flavour. The chicken was dwarfed in comparison to the vegetables in the plate. The people I was with seemed to enjoy their meals much more than I did mine.
Absolutely the best Thai I have ever had. Food is beautifully presented, very full of flavor, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is lovely and calming. I will return
I loved it! The food was amazing, the waiters were very fast, and it was very small and cozy. I felt that every part of it was amazing.
Very good, authentic Thai restaurant. The owner and cook is Thai, and can make stuff off menu if you know what it is, or called in Thai.
We have had 2 good experiences in the past but tonight we went in at 6pm with another table that seated right next to us. We were greeted by someone who looked like the owner or manager trying to make conversation. Both of our tables ordered at the same time, at 6:40 we watched as the other table received their food- all 6 meals. Our table had ordered 8 meals- mostly vegetarian. We asked about our food and were told they were still making it. We watched as To go orders were filled and still no food for us. At 7pm our toddler was antsy as we’d been there now for an hour and no food still. The manager was nowhere to be seen. Finally our food came at 7:20 with no apology or explanation and then a bill to follow minutes later with gratuity included. We asked for the manager and were told okay he was there but he never showed up. We now left at 7:30 with our food in to go containers heading home to never enter this place again. We have patience and understand times are hard, but communication and service are big parts of this business. We are so very disappointed as no one even offered an apology or explanation as to what happened.
Why not apologize or explain it when we asked to speak to a manager instead of hide in the back? And why not discount our food since we didn’t receive it all and ended up putting it in boxes ourselves instead of try and charge us gratuity? It just doesn’t make sense not to explain what happened after you had us waiting almost an hour and a half.
Uhh automatic gratuity for a party of 5? Never heard of that in my life yet here it is
The ambience is good. I only had issues with the food portion. Taste was good.
I have been going to Thai ruby for over 13 years. The food is always delicious and the staff always friendly. Best Thai in Flower Mound!
Very good food with some unusual twists for Thai. We eat a good bit of Thai food, so came in here after an appointment to get a late lunch/early dinner since we hadn't eaten. We got the Ruby Wrap for appetizer - very good, but not what we expected...more noodles than vegetables. We also got a cup of Tom Ka soup - also very good, lighter than many but just as flavorful. I got the roast duck with red curry sauce and veggies (upper dish in picture) and my wife the Rad Nar with chicken (lower dish). These were excellent, and very filling. Will definitely go there again next time we get over that way.
Where to begin? The atmosphere? Serene. The service? Exquisite. The presentation, aroma and flavor of the food? To DIE for. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you love Thai you have to try Thai ruby. 10/10 I recommend the crispy duck
Don’t forget the desert. Mango sweet rice is simply incredible!
Food, service & atmosphere were very good. Thought it was a little pricey for portion sizes served.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing. I come here often with my family and not once have we been disappointed. Their pad Thai is one of my favorite dishes there. Would recommend to y’all.
Absolutely everything we ate here was incredible, and the staff was so attentive and kind. Great portion size for the price, and nice atmosphere. A favorite for sure!
The food here is impressively delicious - literally my FAVORITE Thai place.
In addition to my food never once being incorrect from several "to-go" orders, the Staff and Management are genuinely friendly - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 👍🏼👍🏼
So many good reviews. Can’t believe no one in this area has any idea what Thai food is ! People this is just bad Chinese food!!!
One of the best Thai place in Grapevine area. Food is very flavourful and spicy.Great ambience and good quality Thai food. Thai hot is really hot !!!
Great food . Beautiful restaurant. Love the decoration and the service is great . Cleanliness is so important. Very clean and I had such a great experience
I enjoyed the food. Took a while to pick something to eat. While the menu is not huge they leave a lot of variety of combos available. I think I settled on Prin Kris with pork. Was significantly better than my previous experiences with Thai. Atmosphere was good. Had a decent crowd for a Monday but didn't feel cramped. Both the others with me enjoyed there food as well. Staff was friendly and tried to answer our questions. I definitely intend to return.
Hidden gem. They probably have the most authentic Thai food i've every had.
This is our favorite restaurant in flower mound! Absolutely love it!
Fresh and green vegetables are very tasty service is very good 👍
My new favorite go to place! They are very attentive, and they cook your food just how you want it.
Delicious food!
Best Chicken Pad Thai in town!
We went here the other night when we suddenly had to go out for dinner. We reached there 20 mins before they close but they welcomed us in, had us seated and served us nevertheless. We quickly ordered as we were hungry too. The Chicken pad kee maw was good, decent cook on the chicken, refreshing sauce and well cooked noodles. The quantity could have been a little bit more. The Chicken satay was a bit of a disappointment. It was dry and the seasoning could have been better. Although the peanut chutney was really tasty. Overall a good experience for a quick bite.
The interior, ambience and atmosphere are truly good. Its a comfortable feeling with enough lighting which isn’t too dim and too bright. The place is maintained clean and the staff is very friendly and service is excellent.
One of my favorites! Always good service and great food
We’ve dined at Thai Ruby numerous times and they never disappoint. Consistently good every time. The menu is great and while I’m partial to the curry dishes, everything we’ve tried has been fantastic. Highly recommend.
Have always loved this place. Good food. Disappointed with the new menu...salad NOT included with lunch specials. Not even an option for a SMALL salad. Would like to have the choice of egg roll OR salad. Love the peanut dressing on the salad. But I'll still be back .
This is my favorite restaurant ever! So quiet and peaceful and the food is always the same amazing quality, exactly what I’m expecting every time! The consistency of the curry that I get blows my mind, I love it! Highly recommend! We go back all the time!
The best Thai restaurant in Flower Mound and surrounding areas! Staff is great, food is great with good quality! When I bring out of towners from different parts of the country here, they are always impressed and always want to revisit the restaurant. So that speaks volumes! Highly recommended!
Ordered dinner from here. Really loved the dish especially the soups which we ordered - Tom Yum. Red curry beef, yellow furry fish with pad-ke-maw noodles. All tasted good. They would let you order ahead along with the table, along with take out. They also have party trays as well. Attaching the pic for the same. Definitely a recommended place when at Flower Mound for Thai food. Btw, I really loved the ambience inside with apt decor depicting the thai culture, especially the woodworks.
Food was excellent. Portions are kid size. Food barely covered 25% of the plate. Lacks value.
