ONLY TAKE OUT
I went for Saturday dinner. The staff is warm hearted and explains the dishes very well to you. They do customize your dish that is they can add or delete any ingredient depending on your likings. The taste is good. The spice range is from 1(low spice level) to 10(highest spice level). The quantity of curry is a lot. The price is good(9.25$ for all curries). They do have vegan dishes.
The taste is awesome !
Love the food! We enjoyed bubble tea (coconut!), Phat Thai with tofu, Beef jerky with sticky rice, and fried veggie dumplings. All of the food was cooked quickly and very delicious. The fried dumplings came with a great sauce which wasn't too salty as some can be. The beef jerky is a favorite and paired with the sticky rice, a great meal. The servings were so large we had plenty to take home. The service was impeccable with the servers working together in a very friendly manner. We'll be back!
Coming from Thailand, it's really hard to find an authentic Thai restaurant in America. However, out of nearly 50 I've been to around the U.S., Thai Mii Up is one of the best outside of California. For those Americans out there looking for a Thai restaurant, they offer pretty authentic food here so be wary if you order medium spicy - it's pretty hot. For Thai people reading this, while their spices and curry may not taste like the ones you find in Thailand, they do try their best to make it similar. But it's still far from real authentic ones. Highly recommend for those who want to taste a glimpse of what Thai food should taste like.
Oh my❗❗❗ What to say❓❓❓ I've been to many Thai joints, while they've ALL been great, this restaurant is something special❗ Parking is ample. The atmosphere is relaxed and noisy, so it's a great place to unwind and or bring children❗ EVERY dish from fish, shrimp, squid, to pork & beef EVERYTHING, tasted DISTINCT & far from a generic tasting dish you might find at other restaurants❗ I usually take a ton of pictures, but I totally forgot this time, I was stuffing my face❗ The desert was UNIQUE, it was the first desert on the menu. A Laos traditional desert.... Yes, I know it looks like Jell-O in the picture, but it's far from it! It's a unique desert I've never experienced before❗ Bravo to the proprietor❗
PLEASE BE AWARE - If you go there with 5 people or more there is a "service charge." This "service charge" is clearly written on your bill, however, at no time or any place that was visible on the menu was this service charge written. I did not read my bill correctly and added a very large tip more than the service charge on top of the service charge. That was my fault. However, it would be great if you could let your customers know what to expect. I called them, and was told, we don't hide anything it is right there on your bill. Okay, great! But where is that policy written that if there are 5 or more people there is a service charge? They did refund me the lesser (service charge amount) on my bill as I had left a much larger tip.
Look at my last name and rest assured that this fine establishment offers the most amazing Laotian and Thai food in all of Rochester. This place a must see for anyone looking for authentic dishes, the Lao Sausage is must try! I Repeat, the LAO SAUSAGE is a must try!!! This place is as good as it gets; You’ll thank me later
The food is really quite good. Some of the best Phat Thai I’ve had in Rochester. But unfortunately what they provide in quality of food they lack in service and ambiance. The place can get crowded and very loud. In addition the service is slow albeit friendly.
I definitely recommend it for the food!
Good
I’ve eaten at Thai Mii up since 2020. Everything has tasted good and I’ve never had a problem. Today I ordered takeout of the Chinese broccoli stir fry and when I started eating it, some of the sauce on top was perfect and liquid-y, while most of the sauce was congealed like sauce flavored gelatin. The majority of my chicken in this dish was covered in this gelatinous sauce. I don’t know if the sauce was 3-4 days old or what, but the texture was very unpleasant and it made me lose my appetite. I hope you take my feedback.
Whenever I’m in Irondequoit for work I have to get Thai Mii Up. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is quick. I’ll definitely be coming back and I recommend it to everyone!
Have only ordered here 2x but both times it was very good. Got the chicken Pad Thai and a vegetable dish. Had them both spice level 3. Not too hot, just a nice kick to them. Strange that they haven't reopened the restaurant yet for dine in and you can only pick up through the little window outside the building. Not very convenient if it is raining or when it was snowing.
The curry was good. The peanut sauce was not very good. They charged me .50 for half about an ounce of soy. That is pretty petty for a Thai restaurant. I asked for utensils was told they were in the bag and they weren’t. When I spend $60 on my take out I sure shouldn’t have to pay extra for a condiment.
Love the food at this place, especially the Panang and the pineapple fried rice! Delicious!
Very good food and very good service. I have never had a bad experience at Thai Mii Up Cuisine.
Been coming here for two years now- hands down the best green curry in Rochester!
Solid employees & great service
The pad see ew is okay. Not lots of flavor in it. They did fill it up with lots of veggies and protein, so that was nice! I finished my food but didn't wow me like other Thai places I've eaten at, I won't be returning.
They have gone to pickup only (isn’t COVID time fun?). I placed order by phone and they said ready in 25-30 min. I lurked in the parking lot at minute 25 to 40 and then went up to the window (it’s raining) and asked after my order. They said oh it’s been ready. I ask why not call me? We don’t do that.
The fried tofu was soggy and inedible. The pad Thai is not good - but most pad Thai is these days all goopy sugar with like 3 bean sprouts
I LOVE Thai mii up! So yummy! Wish the prices would go up, we used to come here all the time but can’t afford it too often anymore. Would definitely recommend!!
This place is an overpriced and disgusting disaster. No dine in, no online ordering, other than through big corporate choices like Doordash, Grubhub,or Caviar. The prices are different than their website. The shrimp pad thai was a goopy mess and they slopped the white rice right in the same box. The pork egg rolls are filled with ham, which is pork but completely unexpected and not tasty whatsoever. They charged me for soy sauce and it was really inedible slop. So gross, and will never order from them ever again.
A strange experience ordering pickup: they refused to give me any kind of plate to eat on. I ordered two entrees and wanted to have some disposable thing in which eat other than the lid of the container. They would not even give me an extra empty container. Is this stinginess or ...?
Re: the owner's response: the first time I asked the cashier for a plate. If you didn't have disposable plates, that's fine. Then I asked if she could give me just one of the aluminum takeout containers that you placed my order in. She came back again saying "no" to giving me an extra aluminum container. I was very puzzled by this, as those probably cost less than 10 cents, and I ordered over $20 of food.
Other customers around me who saw this interaction laughed: "Good luck eating your food!"
Mostly good Pad Thai disappoints 5 on scale 1-10 nice heat. Drunken noodles 3 spice with chicken perfect for my taste.
Very Tasty
My Chicken Pad Thai was great. My wife had the Yellow Curry. Yum all around.
The only menu was a tiny picture of a menu that was not legible. No order could be placed.
Seems to be back where they should be!
The only reason I did not give this a 5 star, is there is no consistency with their spicy level. There is a 1-10 star but sometimes it's so hot I can't even eat it. Today I ordered 1 star and my mouth is on fire.
5star every time.
The food it’s self needs 10 stars , this really is the BEST thai food in Rochester . Once you have it you won’t be able to eat Thai anywhere else around here the flavor and menu are beyond top shelf.
My only complaint is they seem to be riding the COVID excuses a little too long . Why is your dining not back open!?? Are you guys ever opening back up?? And the hours, I have gone there multiple times ( like last week) and you guys are randomly just closed . There’s no communication of anything on your website or Facebook page. The new staff that is there manning the window don’t seem to care . Which is a real shame bc the staff you guys had were like family to us loyal customers and really made the experience of eating with you guys. 😔
Tell us what’s going on and what the future of Rochester best Thai restaurant has in store !!
We can't count the number of times we have eaten here or had take-out. We have had a number of menu items from dumplings to soup to stir fry. All have been delicious and some have become our favorites: yellow curry rice, evil jungle and the steamed dumplings.
The staff is always very friendly and helpful.
The place is always busy which i is a testament to their did and staff.
Best steamed dumplings in Rochester. They are not just dough with a little filling, they are bite size and delicious.
Absolutely amazing food! Always so fresh and tasty. Best Thai around!
Super nice and friendly
Good authentic food.
On Google they were open until 8:45pm, which on its own is funny. And at 8:21pm, after going out of our way, the door was already locked. So apparently they don't enjoy making money or cultivating a loyal customer base.
Everything from here has been amazing! When dine in was allowed I had great service, takeout is very fast, and I have never been disappointed with my meal. The Lao phat thai noodle, the pineapple fried rice and the masman curry are some of my favorites. Also the Lao noodle soup is so filling when I want something a little lighter. Can't reccomend the food from here enough.
Very delicious food, no dine in, you have to call to place your order.
Great food reasonably priced
Still one of my favorite restaurants. The food is AMAZING, so amazing that I drive all the way from Scottsville to Irondequoit and back just for it.
Delicious food at Thai Mii Up! I was watching a show on Netflix and saw one of the dishes they had in Thailand. I did a quick google search and Thai Mii Up came up. Ordered food and now sharing that great food with you all.
I wanted to like this place so so bad and I was so excited to try it out for the first time but my first impression just wasn't it. The customer service was terrible and the food just wasn't good at all.😪
This has become one of my favorite delivery lunch meals in the Rochester area! Their food is authentic, fresh, tasty, filled with fresh big chunks of meat and veggies. I even envy their produce picking abilities! Every chopped up piece of vegetable in any of my meals has been perfect and full-bodied in a way I've never seen. Their 10 star setting (yes, perhaps I am crazy!) will stimulate your senses while clearing all your nasal passages leaving nothing for that nasty coronavirus to attach to.
Favorites: The drunken noodles, Spicy Basil chicken. You won't go wrong here if you enjoy Thai food.
The food was delicious, but the customer service was horrendous. When I couldn't get through the phone lines to place an order I drove over and placed my order at the takeout window despite the 40 minute wait. When I returned 45 minutes later I was told they couldn't find the order that I previously placed and had already paid for. Once they finally found it, I was told to wait an additional 10 minutes. One hour and 20 minutes later I finally left with my food. No apologies, discounts or anything extra was offered for their errors or my inconvenience. I feel that Doordash and other delivery services take priority over in person and over the phone orders as over 20 people came and went while I stood there for over 30 minutes. I do not plan on returning after this experience.
They may have a better looking menu with food that you don't normally see at an asian restaurant and vegan and gluten free options, but you can't judge a book by its cover. This restaurant seemed like it had so much potential but was so disappointing, as it is really just another rinky dink hole in the wall asian place that makes cheap food, skimps on ingredients, and is constantly getting orders wrong and screws the customers. I have been there 4 times, and 3 out of those four times there have been problems with my orders.
The first was when I ordered a vegan soup and it came back with chicken in it which should have been a big red flag not to go here anymore and I'm lucky that I didn't try it. The second was when I ordered tofu lettuce wraps which are things you have to make yourself so they just give you the ingredients and I paid $13.50 for it and only got 5 wilted leafs of lettuce which was only enough for a small fraction of the stuff. I had to go out and buy a head of lettuce to finish the rest of the stuff with and when I talked to them about it next time they said they only give 4 leaves with it and that I can add 4 more for $2. A head of lettuce costs $1. And their leaves are wilted. The entire dish costs $13.50, I can't believe I'd be paying that much for something that they are not even going to use fresh lettuce with and give enough leaves to wrap even half of it with and then they will charge you $2 for every 4 you add on.
The final problem was when I ordered a dish that was supposed to have brown gravy, because thats what I was in the mood for, and it came with a white gravy instead, which they didn't even mix with my noodles, which were large flat noodles, which instead of mixing with the sauce for some reason they just gave me in a container dry, which made them all stick together in one giant clump of flour that I had to try to break apart which left me eating little broken up clumps of noodles. And it only had one vegetable in it when I had specifically asked if there would be other vegetables in it. And that wasn't all my son ordered Pho soup which is supposed to be based around noodles and they didn't give me hardly any and I had to go back to the restaurant to get more. So that was the final straw.
But also if you are ordering takeout and are getting multiple dishes, or worse, getting dishes that are separated out into multiple containers as they often are (sometimes they may be giving you your rice/noodles, your meat/veggies, and your sauces in different containers), it is going to be extremely confusing as to what is what and what goes with what because they do not label any of the containers.
They can't even bother to make menus available to their take out customers, or to update their information on google, or have the same menus available to view online across different platforms. This is not a professional operation.
Their shrimp Pad Thai is to die for!
Ordered twice so far. Second time was as good as the first.
Delicious and fresh food.
Sooooo yummy!
I love the flavor in all of there dishes
They have the greatest steamed dumplings and can adjust the spiciness to any meal. They have never disappointed me, but some friends have had a random meal a little off or spicy when they didn't want it. But 99% of the time, this place is always spot on, delicious and amazing.
Very swt pad thai which i liked, and my husband enjoyed the curry dish!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant! I love the food here. I’ve had Thai food at other restaurants and this is my favorite one
7-star Panang Curry with Beef, 5 stars of good. A few hearts thrown in too. Always the best, guys!
Horrible customer service I called in my food ask them twice no cilantro or tripe in my pho and when I arrive to pick it up on my lunch break they made it wrong and I had to wait for them to remake it which wasted my lunch break if the phone was disgusting and cold they just took food to the back took out cilantro and tripe
Great Thai food. Decent prices. Good place to go for lunch. Will go back. Taking away one star because the place can be loud and seating is cramped.
We had chicken pad Thai and it was not good. Had a strong fishy smell and a bland taste. We ended up throwing most of it out.
It was just ok. The pad Thai tasted like a BBQ flavor, maybe some people love that but it wasn’t what I was looking for. The sauce that came with the string beans and tofu tasted bland. Strange experience, food was fresh but I was expecting more base on the reviews.
Love their appetizers and my absolute favorite curry in rochester. HUGE portions and not terribly expensive
Their Papaya salad and the fry Calamari is out of this world
Good no great food but they dont keep regular hours
We placed a large order today and all I can say is Thai Mii Up is absolutely amazing! From the service to the devious food and prompt service, I highly recommend them! Thank you so much so everything!
What a shame. Had delicious Pad Thai here before but they lost my business. Tried to order a couple of days ago but all of their phone lines were busy. After about 20 minutes I was able to get through. The girl who answered told me to hold and then hung up on me. After another 10 minutes of busy signals I got through again and a guy started taking my order but hung up on me midway through. Nothing but busy signals after and no one bothered to call me back. A guy came to the door at one point and turned away anyone trying to place an order telling them they have to call it in. I found a great place on Alexander St by East Ave, they were very friendly and the food was delicious.
Terrible service. Not answering the phone. Places customer on hold and hangs up.
Lost my business today. No one at the door and both phones have been busy for 10 minutes. Wont be returning to this location, even after the social distancing is over.
Great food. Great prices.
Good food but swabbing the floors with a heavily chlorinated mops,!and flipping chairs onto tables, rolling up rugs, etc., at least 30 minutes before closing ? Makes you feel real welcome!
This is my favorite place ever! The green curry is my absolute favorite. Always friendly people always great service. Food is amazing.
First time here and was looking forward to a nice dinner. Staff was professional and pleasant but food was subpar. Ordered a dish, had it taken back, and second dish was bland and partly cold..sorry, but this will be our last visit.
Awesome food
Amazing food 👌
Awesome food, good portions.
Great Thai and Laotian food
Yummy
Amazing food, good people, a little slow on service, but they will cover that up with great food
Not gonna lie the place ain't so fancy and kinda a bit dirty if anything, but the food was delicious. Great place for lunch.
The staff is super nice! However the appetizers were far better than the entrees
Always awesome.
Best Thai food I've had thus far!!
Never fails to disappoint 👌👌👌
I highly recommend to get 10 star spicy + Thai peppers if you enjoy VERY spicy food.
One of my favorite places in Rochester!
Food and staff were good. Place was ice cold and i did not enjoy myself because of that. Sorry. Heat helps.
Very good Thai food at affordable price. There are multiple vegan options. The food they serve is fresh and delicious.Went there multiple times and was never disappointed.Good on budget and for hangout with friends and team.
Very good food and you get a lot of it for what you pay
Gang Phet is amazing.....
Not only was the food amazing, but we ordered pickup and when we got home they forgot our rice. One of the employees drove it out to our house! Now that's how you run a business! Great job Thai Mii Up we'll be back!
Always a pleasure to eat here because of the staff and delicious food! 🍜

Love the food.
Great food
I've been here once. The food was quite good. Somewhere between good and very good. Nothing too spectacular or unique about it, but it is definitely one of the best asian restaurants in Rochester (as there really are no spectacular asian restaurants in this city). This place specializes in both Thai and Lao food, as well as vegetarian & vegan options, for which they have an entire menu page for. I would have given it 5 stars except I deducted 2 for 2 reasons:
1.) I am a vegan and ordered a soup from the vegan side of the menu telling the waiter that everything for me would be vegan. The soup was brought out with chicken in it. I almost tried the soup before noticing too and that would have been a huge problem. How does a restaurant that specializes in vegetarian food to the point where they have an entire menu page dedicated to it make this mistake? Especially when I pointed to it on that part of the menu and told him everything for me would be vegan.
2.) I went there excited to try Laos food for the first time in my life but could not because there are no vegan options for Laos food listed on the menu. It seems odd that a restaurant that specializes in both vegetarian and laos food wouldn't have any options for both of those things together.
So those are the two reasons why it got 3 stars instead of 5. But it is definitely a good restaurant worth trying for yourself, I think. Just keep those two things in mind, and if you are vegetarian make sure you do not expect to eat Laos food and most of all that YOU CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR FOOD DOESN'T HAVE ANY MEAT IN IT BEFORE EATING IT!
Food was ok, the meat is the same as china king or any take out chinese place. Waited over 45 minutes after ordering for the food which half the table got their food then other half had to wait another 10 to 15 for theirs. Almost impossible to get any kind of service and it was a Sunday night and near empty when we arrived. Overall would never go back due to the lack of any service, there are much better thai restaurants with authenticity in rochester.
Great Drunken Noodles...tons of flavor. Best Thai restaurant I have found so far on the East Side. Good, friendly service. I will definitely be back!
Very good good. Quick service.
Delicious food with a range of types of Asian food. Quick and kind service. Everything I've had here was delicious!
Food was disappointing. NO ADULT DRINKS AVAILABLE! Just water! 😥👎🏽
Service quality seems to vary day to day, but the food is consistently incredible. Very fast take out as well. Mango rice in the summer is worth a visit alone and the Lao dishes are unique and delicious.
Food is excellent!!! Service is top notch and so fun
Good food vegan options
Love the Linda Wings
Tried this for the first time a couple weeks ago and my girl and I were very pleased with the flavor of the food. Go spicy!
Nice quiet place with fantastic food. Nearly everything on the menu can be prepared gluten free, and the servers are able to answer questions if needed. The menu is split betwern meat dishes and vegan dishes, so be mindful of which version of the dish you plan to order. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are huge. Definitely give them a try if you enjoy Thai or Laotian food
Really good food.
Super good food and great prices. Also a good amount of gluten free options available. The place was super busy with patrons as well as takeout customers further demonstrating to our party that people know this place has great food. Definitely recommend.
As close to Thailand as you can get in Rochester
Food was delicious and the service was great!
Best Thai!
Amazing authentic food and great service!
Food was very good. Staff is very friendly. The decor could use an upgrade :)
Great staff, fresh and tasty food! 2nd visit and I'll be back! Mercedes and her family are lovely! #IslandCheers!😊🍹🌴
Good food. Hole in the wall type place. You should come here for the food not for a formal or romantic atmosphere.
Great food. Delicious Tom yum!!!!
We always enjoy going there, but it pays to go early. There is not a lot of parking close by but more importantly they have been known to run out of the Thai pork chops, something I enjoy.
The best Thai food! Just tried their Spicy Steamed Swai with Lemongrass for the first time, and I loved it! I would definitely order it again! It had all the taste and flavor I expected it to have. Their staff are always friendly and attentive! If I could go there everyday, I would!
Love the mamasan, phat prigrin and dumplings. Food is always great and service is usually good. They took the bubble teas and smoothies off the menu which is pretty disappointing.
I love the people who work here but recently the food has fallen short. Perhaps they are overwhelmingly busy.
The Panang lunch was the best meal I’ve had in a while
Everything was delicious. Had s&p shrimp, mussels, Curry & fried squid. Service was wonderful, as was the wait staff. Will definitely go again
Best Thai food in Rochester NY
Good Lao food many varieties of dishes too
Foods great. Service is slow, and the decor is really bad lol
Always fresh and DELICIOUS food. Thai/Lao food. YUM .
Excellent. Tai in Rochester NY
Delicious, generous portions and a plethora of menu options should satisfy a variety of eaters. My personal favorite is the Masaman curry with tofu. The dining room is no-frills (just a bunch of tables in a large, open space - the restaurant is located in a former Pizza Hut building) but takeout is available.
Everything I have tried so far it's delicious. Just be careful with the spicy level. Their scale goes from 1 to 10 so the first time we were there we went for a 5, you know playing safely, and it's PAINFUL, however, it's so good that we finished our meals and we keep visiting as often as possible. Their "hot oil" is delicious!
Great food, amazing prices, good service. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good Thai.

Just didn't like the food. Nothing bad to say about the place, just not for me
Foods good, service ehh
Good food, nice people. The restaurant doesn't really have much ambience, and the TV doesn't really help with that. I'd recommend getting your food to go, at least you get to choose what to watch when you're eating in front of your own telly.
Update: the dining experience has become even worse since my review. I've added a photo showing the mess after staff sit preparing green beans in the restaurant (where they can watch the TV while they work), and there is a messy rack of take out supplies in the corner of the room.
I still highly recommend the food, but I don't think they are serious about being a sit-down restaurant. Such a shame, this was a nice place to eat when it first opened, and could be again.
Food was ok. Customer service was ok. Kinda pricey for what you get. But actually worth the visit👍
I first ate Thai food at Thai By Night in Canandaigua. Their cook is from Thailand, and produces the most amazing food ever. I truly wish they hadn't been the first I tried, because then Thai Mii Up would have gotten a full five stars, because I wouldn't have known how much better Thai food can really be.
