BURGER IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR LUNCH.
Little Grenjai strives to be a haven of fun food that plays at the intersection between Thai and American cuisines in the context of a neighborhood diner.
We don't have a phone number. The best way to reach us during service is to message us through the Resy app or email us at [email protected] or through our website. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.
Amazing food! We ordered the smash burger, the wings, and the drunken noodles.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing.
I found the burger to be extremely unique for a smash burger - it was filled with peppers and onions, and had a lovely sweet, tangy, savory sauce. It wasn’t like any other smash burger I’ve tried in NYC. Definitely recommend coming as a group and trying a variety of dishes.
The burger is only available for lunch 12-3!
I came here on a really busy Sunday, but we were the first to arrive and so we were seated immediately. They had a few outages that day, but they were able to work around it and give us other options for the dishes that we ordered. They were kind enough to make sure that we got reimbursed on the parts of the order that they could not fulfill And I will say that all the food that came out was really delicious. I especially really like the burger and the Matcha that I got. The space looks like a diner and service seems really fast and friendly, the owners are from the Neighbourhood and so they have a really good feel and vibe for the place and they also seem to welcome a lot of locals here. I definitely would recommend checking this place out.
This place has a nice style to it. It is cozy, diner vibes etc. food was pretty good, I would be willing to try other dishes.
The food is extremely expensive though. This deep in Brooklyn should be much more affordable. $4 to add an egg to basil pork is absurd. The dish in Thailand traditionally comes with an egg to begin with. It seems like their prices are up 20% looking at older menus from just 1 year ago.
Walked in on a Friday with no reservation and had to wait approximately 2 hours but it was so worth it. Crab Rangoon was absolutely crack. The crab pad Thai was amazing, it had this sweet and spicy vinaigrette chutney on top I was in love.
We sat at the "bar" seating facing a window, which was annoying because the seats kept spinning. Otherwise service was great and prompt!
How could I have lived for 40 years of my life without a Krapow Smash Burger? Did life even exist before this moment? It is hands down a life changing experience to eat the food at Little Grenjai.
Everyone should be running to try the food here. I love a little family-owned and local restaurant to BedStuy. Definitely love supporting small businesses that make amazing food.
I’ll be dreaming of this stuff until my next visit 😋
Sorry but I wanted to love this place but it was just not good. From being in the middle of nowhere - actually to being in the middle of a sketchy neighborhood to the food being served cold to the waiters not paying attention to you because they are at the bar chatting to the restaurant being to small. All these things add up to a bad experience. The pork was overcooked and practically burnt black. My first and last time.
Cute small spot dishing up good food. The heirloom tomato salad was a great summer special and perfect to share. Papaya salad was tasty and not too spicy. Highlight was the Khao Soi; nice and hearty. Prices are a little bit more than expected and we did feel a bit rushed at the end of the night.
I order pathfinder whith shrimp but there was not there.
I took to gow he didn't give me the fork no napkin because I didn't give tip

I want their Khao Soi poured into my mouth as I take my last dying breath in this realm of existence. Not even exaggerating.
Atmosphere is perfect although the space is tiny - but the space is tiny because you're supposed to make friends so don't be weird. Servers are professionals and if you've ever had a problem with them then you need to look inward at yourself and reevaluate. Burger is exquisite. Sake selection is delectable. Decor makes me think of the childhood I never had. All this to say I've had 3 very good meals here.
okay food, bad seating, overwhelming prices.
great burger, cute diner vibes
so delicious. the burger exceeded my expectations. i shall be back — regularly.
Smash burger and crab fried rice both 10/10!
The vibe is very cool and the food is great!
Best Pad Thai I’ve ever had
We were lucky enough to come on the 1 year anniversary and the food was DELICIOUS — we left with our bellies full and happy. Thank you for the wonderful service. The space was lovely and it’s clear that Little Grenjai is already so loved by many.
Friendly people and delicious food!
Most creative Thai menu in town!
Some food came out cold. The French fries were not crispy. The vegetarian options are very limited. The person taking the order doesn’t know what’s in the food.
The congee was warm/cold and lacking depth. The ginger oil the side makes it ok. The ginger pork is premade and cold.
The drunken noodles have spice but lack all other flavor.
The burger, is pretty good, however it is very spicy even if you ask for spicy on the side, would still recommend.
The French fries are likely made in batches and come soggy and cold. Maybe you need to be there at the right time.
This was a super mid dining experience. I came here with friends and I was extremely disappointed that all the side dishes (we ordered 3) came to our table cold, they messed up my friend’s burger order request, the food was overpriced for the quality/ taste, and it was just a disappointing experience as I was looking forward to trying the food here.
Just awful. Did not live up to the hype.
Delicious! 🤤
Salads and wings, noodles and curries: all terrific! Only complaint was the Massaman shortrib which was a little dry, therefore tough. Book in advance, groups over 6 need to do prix fixe.
Very mediocre.
Overall the food was ok. Some dishes were really garbage tho. But some were decent. But generally, nothing was actually delicious. Kind of sad to be honest. They seemed like a nice place. I would try again maybe if they are still around in a couple of months.
The food overall was bland.
Truly one of the best meals I’ve had in nyc. Such a gem. The food is incredible!
We had the burger at their pop up a while back and it was delicious! We just went back to try their dinner menu. The crispy rice salad appetizer was really good. The Pad Thai and Drunken noodles were ok - considering the price I wouldn’t order again as I don’t think they were phenomenally better than cheaper versions I’ve had. I’d be curious to try other things off their menu that aren’t noodle dishes. Spice level is higher than you would get at a generic Thai place which I appreciate. The place is gorgeously renovated and atmosphere is a 10/10. We spent a little over $100, for two noodle dishes, 1 app and 1 beer (includes a standard tip). The owners are very friendly and overall we enjoyed the food. However for this neighborhood I think they will continue to get backlash for the prices. It’s obvious that a lot of time, money, and love went into this place though. I would love to return for lunch and have their burger again!
Eating at Little Grenjai was a really enjoyable experience. The ambiance is quaint but energizing, the service is friendly and accommodating, and the food was flavorful and fresh!
Such a fun concept to combine Thai and American food. The burger is just insanely good. It’s a little expensive, but they are really delicious and I would say they live up to the hype. The portions are small but that’s kind of nice because it means you can try more things than you otherwise would be able to.
Popped in for lunch. It was SO good. The smash burger and the pad thai were the best versions of those dishes we’ve ever had.
It’s a tight space but worth the visit.
I came here on a really busy Sunday, but we were the first to arrive and so we were seated immediately. Came in looking for the Smashburgers. Place is one of those order at the counter types. No one greeted us when we came in , just kinda stood there until we realized we had to seat ourselves. SmashBurgers were great , a fun Thai twist on a classic . Fries were dry , tasted like they had been made a while ago .
Great interior aesthetic and vibe . Would go again for the burger and maybe give the fries a second chance .
This place is an absolute gem—wonderful service, a great ambience and outstanding food. Hands down the best crab rangoons and pad thai I have ever had! This family owned restaurant is easily one of the best spots in Brooklyn!
Nothing to write home about, it’s TikTok/Instagram hype with no substance. This place is great if you don’t know what actually high quality Thai food tastes like and are happy to settle for overpriced, basic, “Americanized” Thai cuisine.
Take an ordinary cheeseburger, throw some Thai basil and chiles on it and call it a “krapow smash burger” and charge $18 for it? Yeah, but no thanks. Offer watered down Thai iced tea, but make it oat milk to appease the locals and charge $7 for it? Cool.
I’m all for paying for quality, but Little Grenjai is not it. There is literally nothing remarkable about this restaurant. Go to any other Thai restaurant.
By the way - the floors here are dangerously slippery, I saw two people almost completely wipe out upon entering. And there is no heating at the restaurant, have fun freezing while dining there.
Walked in on a Friday with no reservation and had to wait approximately 2 hours but it was so worth it. Crab Rangoon was absolutely crack. The crab pad Thai was amazing, it had this sweet and spicy vinaigrette chutney on top I was in love.

Amazing place!
Phenomenal! Everything about this place was enjoyable. From the crispy rice salad to the fried chicken dinner and everything in between, no dish was a disappointment. Would highly recommend. They were also very accommodating to my gluten-free needs.
Absolutely fantastic. The flavors were excellent and balanced. Dishes were visually heavy but actually savory and light. Left feeling very satisfied. Waiter was very accommodating and attentive. Better than Uncle Boons IMO. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ll be dreaming of this stuff until my next visit 😋
One of the best Thai food I had in a long, long time. Super brussels sprouts, delicious slow cooked cabbage. Good vegetarian dishes (as long as you do not mind eating something with fish sauce).
I sat down in little grenjai for a solo dinner on a Sunday night, uncontent with the meager offerings of a fridge in need of restocking. As dusk settled upon Brooklyn for the night I hopped on my bike, unnamed at the moment but I'm thinking something like blue thunder because it's electric but nothing is solidified at the moment.
Little grenjai has a classic American diner feel with its checkerboard floors and countertop seating but its menu is Thai all the way, chili icons punctuate many of the dishes, a warning light for the faint of taste. After being sat next to the wall of attractive t shirts for sale I chose a minced pork dish with rice , and the chili icon did not lead me astray. The food was delicious and opened my nasal passages all the way. Woah. Drink that water. This is really flavorful. God, I need this water so bad. The rice is really well cooked, super helps balance out how badly I need this water right now. Oh thank god, they left the bottle. Do I have a stray napkin in my pocket because my nose is on fire right now. Is that embarrasing? It's fine nobody's looking at you. I'm almost done with this food, and this giant bottle of water for that matter. And its done.
Satisfaction served with a tingling smile. I knew that there was no ice cream in the freezer so I ordered the cocoanut ice cream on the menu with nuts and salt, a unique combo that was part curiosity part medicinal and found the flavor to be better than it's texture. The shaved toasted cocoanut was sweet but meager and the ice cream was a little frozen over. It's purpose fufilled my need, though. Meal complete, bill paid, I grabbed my coat and wandered back to my bike and back into the night , the dusk a distant memory wiped hazy from a delicious, spicy plate of meat and rice. Little Grenjai was a wonderful experience, give yourself some time to sit and enjoy it's offerings when you're in the neighborhood.
The food is awesome and flavorful. The overall dining experience wasn’t the best.
The host seemed disappointed that my partner and I only ordered two dishes (which still was over $50). We don’t drink alcohol, don’t eat meat and didn’t want anything caffeinated at 9pm so we ordered what made sense for us.
The dishes don’t come with protein by default and since we’re veg, we opted for tofu puffs (+$5 per dish). The sprinkling of tofu puffs we were given did not feel requisite to the money we paid.
When the food was served, we weren’t given bowls so we had to improvise eating the Khao Soi on our plates. The host eventually noticed and gave us bowls halfway through.
We live close by so it wasn’t a big trek for us to eat here. The food itself was really awesome, but I don’t see myself returning for a while.
Amazing besides fact that told us 30 minute wait and it ended up being 1.5 hrs. Understandable because it’s a small place
Amazing real deal Thai mixed with American
Amazing food! We ordered the smash burger, the wings, and the drunken noodles.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing.
I found the burger to be extremely unique for a smash burger - it was filled with peppers and onions, and had a lovely sweet, tangy, savory sauce. It wasn’t like any other smash burger I’ve tried in NYC. Definitely recommend coming as a group and trying a variety of dishes.

Love everything
Lacks consistency =(
Second order 9/26 overall 3/5 (within a week of the first order)
Hat Yai Fried Chicken Dinner 7/10 - fried for too long that the batter covering the chicken was burnt!
Drunken noodles with crackling pork 4/10 - it was spicy but lacked any flavor whatsoever (very disappointing)
Pork holy basil stir fry 6/10 needed more basil and overall flavor/texture nothing to rave about (pass)
Pad Thai 8/10 the noodles weren’t cooked long enough
Peek Gai Tod Wings 10/10
First order 9/19 overall 5/5
Peek Gai Tod Wings 10/10 the sauce that comes with it is delish!!
Thai Tea Cake 10/10
Hat Yai Fried Chicken Dinner 10/10
Massaman Short Ribs 8/10 .. the curry base was divine but the meat was kinda dry
Bangkok Street Style Pad Thai 9/10 .. I wish there was an option to add more heat to the dish
Love you, Little Grenjai ❤️ The owners have been there every time I’ve been - working in the kitchen, running dishes, or discussing the menu with patrons. The food is thoughtful and delicious. The service is warm and engaged. The wine menu is really excellent. The lunch is counter service, but dinner is table service. I love the Holy Basil Brussels - SO good.
Dustin said it was good.
Thought it was good but not fantastic. Brussels sprouts seemed burned to me
Overall rating: 4.5
I saw this place on TikTok and wanted to give it a try. I went on a date and it wasn’t too hard to get a reservation. The staff was very friendly but it is a small spot. I like how kitschy it seems. We had an early dinner and had the following:
- Peek Gai Tod Wings 5/5: soo good
- Khan Soi Duck 4/5: tasty but not the most amazing dish
- Pad Thai pork belly: 3/5 I wanted this to be so good but I thought it was just okay. I do have a high standard for pad Thai bc I’ve been to Asia before. But idk. Something was missing here.
I def want to go back and try some of the curries. Recommend giving it a try!
Our experience at Little Greenjai was phenomenal!! The food was delicious and the staff were extremely welcoming. The burger and the minced pork are a must. Can’t wait to go back!
I recently visited Little Grenjai, hoping for a delightful Thai dining experience, but unfortunately, it was anything but. Here are the reasons why this place deserves just 1 star:
Limited Vegetarian Options:
As a vegetarian, I was disappointed to find very few options without fish sauce. We specifically asked the waiter for dishes without fish sauce and were recommended the Brussels Sprouts. However, after some investigation on Yelp, it turns out that the dish did contain fish sauce. This led to us unknowingly consuming non-vegetarian food under the guise that it was vegetarian.
Tofu Puffs:
The waiter recommended the tofu puffs, but they were incredibly disappointing. They were essentially fried wisps of air, adding no flavor and leaving an oily texture. At a $5 surcharge per dish, they were completely not worth it.
Overall Experience:
The overall dining experience was poor and not worth trying. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially vegetarians looking for authentic Thai food without hidden non-vegetarian ingredients.
In summary, Little Grenjai failed to meet even the basic expectations for a Thai restaurant, and I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a better dining experience.
EDIT: i saw the owner responded, it wont let me reply to that. but yes, i did bring this issue up in person. ""It's harsh to see you writing that the fish sauce should be illegal for vegetarian people." when did i say that? i said it should be illegal for businesses to lie about their ingredients. such a weird response ? its laughable. i stand by the 1-star review and the horrible experience i had. if you cared so much about your reviews, you would provide a better experience, not gaslight me in your response.
tldr; dont go here if you're veg. horrible addition to the neighborhood. tofu puffs are disgusting and a waste of space. server lied to us about what was vegetarian and not then tried to convince us to get other dishes. would not return.
You should know before you walk in the things that seem vegetarian are not actually vegetarian. All the noodles except Drunken Noodles have a fish sauce base and we were told it couldn't be made without it. So we got 2 out of the total 3 vegetarian things on the menu: brussel sprouts and drunken noodles with tofu puffs. However, they tried convincing us to get the cabbage instead of the brussels (was later wondering if this was bc the brussels or noodles were also based in fish sauce and they didn't share that) and literally brought us that instead even after we very much declined and then said they accidentally wrote it down (?) Huh? But eventually got our order right.
Their tofu puffs, respectfully, are a waste of space. Felt like I was biting into air, had no flavor at all. The drunken noodles by themselves were good and the brussel sprouts were decent but after having delicious b-sprouts at another spot the night before this was an embarrassment for this place. Also, if you like your drunken noodles spicy, this isn't the spot for you. It had no spice, they just added peppers on the side. I would not return unless they upgraded their menu to be more vegetarian and vegan friendly and had better service but glad I tried this new spot by my apt so I can at least confirm it was a bad idea! It's always crowded for dinner but it was pretty empty for lunch which made sense after trying it.
UPDATE- after reading Alex L.'s review below where they state they were told the Brussel sprouts were also based in fish sauce ... I'm in shock. BEYOND unprofessional and (quite frankly should be illegal?) of their staff to lie to us when we made it extremely clear we are vegetarian and wouldn't eat anything based in fish sauce. I guess that's why they asked if it was an allergy (we said no) so if it's not allergy I guess they don't care.
I came here for dinner with three friends and had a great time! Our server was really attentive and everything we ordered was a hit. I really feel like you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. I wish I took some pics, but I was too busy eating. I’m so glad this is in our neighborhood!
Loved the smash burger with duck egg and the rangoon was excellent. Service wasn't the greatest though, they had asked me several times if I ordered so and so dish while seated despite ordering it at the kiosk. Didn't help that you tip before your served too. Food was excellent though!
The food is OK. It's a bit overrated and basic.
All is thought out. Food, place, service.
Just right amount of spice, not overpowering.
Good food!
The burger with duck egg is phenomenal, very messy but celebration of flavor.
Crab Rangoon are a brilliant burger side dish but these aren't a great version, the filling was a bit bland & the wrappers were sodden with grease, not a great value.
Food was even better than I expected. Service just as good. So friendly with great recommendations, Track ID's and concern for dietary restrictions/ preferences. Pretty tiny but they've spaced it pretty well and there's always the counter with the open kitchen if you need the extra legroom and like a show! Will be throwing this in heavy rotation, if nothing else but to try everything else on the menu.
Absolutely incredible food. Hard to get a reservation as it is truly a hole in the wall spot, but they do takeout now. Highly recommend the drunken noodles and Karee.
The food is just ok, the flavors of the food are too mild to acomódate the american palad.
It's just another place for the gentrification people.
BTW, it's not a cheap place.
This place has a great ambiance and the food is to die for. The three of us split the fried chicken (WOW), crab ragoon, drunken noodles with shrimp, and crispy rice salad. Everything was delicious and our server Sang was awesome. She even introduced us to Thai tea cake which is the best dessert I’ve had in a long time
So happy to finally have made it here for lunch to try the amazingly unique Krapow Smash Burger. The burger had a great flavor with a little kick but not too spicy. I ordered it topped with the Thai fried duck egg. Make sure you use a knife first to cut the burger and egg open to enjoy the delicious runny egg along with the fantastic burger.
Would definitely come back.
this restaurant is very good, 😍
The atmosphere is cool. With details like printed parchment paper and lego flowers in a vase - the decor feels curated and intentional. I went for the burger. While I wasn’t disappointed, I also wasn’t blown away. It was delicious and worth a try but I look forward to trying other items in the future. I also tried the crab rangoon and it was freshly prepared which was a plus, but I wouldn’t order again. Kitchen staff was kind and sitting at the counter was pleasant.
I am not easily impressed, because I'm old and I've just eaten a lot of things, but the Grenjai Wedge was among the top dishes I have ever eaten. It was the fusion of chili, lime and blue cheese - plus the crisp of the lettuce and the pork bits that just had me sprung. I couldn't let my plate go; I sopped the leftover sauce up with everything else that I ordered, guarding it so no one could take it away. They were also accommodating! We strolled in at 5:30 with no reservation and they seated us, so long as we could be out by 7. Service at the bar was also extremely thoughtful - they took our food sensitivities into account and adjusted accordingly, only firing the next plate when we were midway through the previous course. Can't wait to go back.
Perfect date night! The food is so delicious and interesting—we had crab rangoon, brussel sprouts, drunken noodles with tofu puffs, the market fish, and dessert! Don’t sleep on the dessert! The music, decor, and friendly service all made it a super fun and memorable night.
The burger, if you can get it, is quite good. Servers were also really above-and-beyond when I forgot my to-go beer.
Burger is banging. Got a double with the duck egg. Place is nice!
An update: Been there now four times for dinner and now every time I leave with food to go and ready for a serious food coma. If you want seriously good thai food and you got to try this place.
Husband still loves the pie, rangoon, still talks about the pork chop he had there. For me, I love the papaya salad, fermented pork sausage, and sweet and sour cabbage.
When we want to have a date night that this is it for me.
Restaurants where the teams just are excited about the food and what they do are always the best. I taste the hype and love they put into their food.
-
Food is so so good. Chefs there definitely take a lot of pride in what they make.
Went for lunch had the smash burger so good. I have been thinking of it a lot…
Went for dinner and we had the crispy rice with fermented pork sausage, crab rangoon (husband loved it so much he had to get an order to go), drunken noodles with crispy pork belly, stir fry cabbage with shrimp (this was the sleeper dish— wasn’t expecting to love it so much but I think it was my favorite thing), fish. My husband had the pie to go he said it was delicious. Got to say that the salads that came with the fish and the crispy rice were so vibrant and good.
Man, I am really full but so happy and satisfied. Will be back.
I was excited to try this place because I’ve been following them online and waiting for them to open. The inside is cramped; I believe it’s a converted Chinese takeout spot and it can get uncomfortably crowded very fast. You have to order at the register and then they bring your food to you. I ordered the burger, which is what they’re known for, with a side of fries and my partner had the drunken noodles. I thought the burger was OK; I expected it to have a spicy kick and to be favorable but it was missing both of those things. I had them add the Thai fried egg on top, which was fine. The only interesting part of the meal was the fries. They make them like the Lay’s ruffled potato chips; they’re crispy around the edges but soft in the middle. Very cool. The prices here are OK.
Everything we had was delicious!
Crispy rice salad, wings, pad thai with duck (omg the best duck I’ve ever had!), the seafood coconut curry!
The pandan coconut cream pie was the best way to end the meal. It was to die for!
So glad this place is in the neighborhood and just a block or two away from my house. I plan to be a regular 😍
Really awesome modern thai/American food - the rangoons, drunken noodles and burger are all delicious. It's just unfortunately a victim of its own success and is generally very crowded for lunch. I'll be sure to return when the lines aren't so crazy and finding a seat doesn't feel like a high stake gameshow. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd probably be getting takeout here weekly.
The food would be good but some of the dishes (Brussel sprouts) were too salty to eat
Hopefully they fix the issue
I will probably try it again but not a 3rd time if I have the same experience
Bold, punchy, aromatic flavors that took me straight back to Bangkok - delicious. Friendly service and a cool space, we’ll be back to try the rest of the menu.
So so good, came here for dinner. Everything we ordered was super delicious and the soup was a standout. Excellent wine selections and good scene, definitely coming back to try the burger soon!
We were disappointed with our experience tonight. I had come for lunch previously and really enjoyed the food. This time we were given a 1 hour wait time, waited 1 hour and 55 minutes to be given counter seats for a three person group, and then proceeded to spend $60 per person on dishes that were truly underwhelming. We paid $32 for khao soi with pork belly. It tasted like vindaloo curry from a jar. We were very excited to try Little Grenjai again and really wanted to love it but the 2 hour wait plus fine, overpriced food left something to be desired :(
RESPONSE 4/14: Thank you for your reply! We did not mean to offend you about the vindaloo curry comment; it seems you work very hard to create a wonderful khao soi flavor –– we just didn't taste that complexity last night for some reason.
We had been excited to try the drunken noodle but you were sold out.
It seems you charged us $32 for the khao soi? 26 + 6 for the pork belly on our receipt.
Wishing the restaurant good luck and success.
Burger is good! Not sure if it lives up to the hype, but it's delicious, unique, and absolutely worth trying if you're in the area. Fries are not great.
This is the best spot! Had a birthday party here when they were in soft open mode, and every single item was phenomenal. totally delicious, run don’t walk.
Amazing experience at Little Grenjai in Brooklyn! The Smash Burger with a Thai fried duck egg is a game-changer - flavorful, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The crispy fries complement it perfectly. Wish I had tried their Thai tea cake – definitely next time! Great atmosphere and friendly service too. Highly recommend for an innovative twist on classic flavors.
Finally had the burger, and it did not disappoint!
Stopped by this place for lunch in Brooklyn today and was immediately taken aback by the vibe. This place is cool. It’s tiny but welcoming. You order your food at the counter from a small but thoughtful menu and find a seat. Everything came out in a timely fashion and hot. Definitely want to get back here for dinner. The merch looked cool too…keep it up, love to inspired spots like Little Greenjai!
Love it!
Incredible space, and honestly decent food, but insulting portions and prices.
You shouldn’t pay $20+ for pad Thai and leave hungry.
Food comes without protein, and you have to pay extra for it. We added the fried tofu puffs, and were bewildered by how bland they were. Its frankly insulting paying extra for them
Overall, we paid 60 dollars for a meal that left us hungry and angry. We immediately got dinner somewhere else after.
For thai food, go somewhere else.
Truly some of the best Thai food I have had in NYC. Great service, great wine list, great atmosphere - my new favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! Feels like if a old school Chicago diner served authentic Thai street food and natural wine. Come for lunch for their incredible smash burger and make a reservation for dinner.
The burger here is worth the hype.
Came here on the rainiest of Saturdays at 12:15pm because I knew there wouldn’t be a line or a wait like usual. We lucked out, no line no wait for the only thing we came for—the SMASH BURGER. It was worth the wait and the effort of being out in this weather. It was pretty damn good. Melted cheese, spicy and you could definitely taste and smell the basil. Definitely will be back and have food in house as the burger would’ve been so much better if the egg wasn’t cold when we got home.
The menu is def a lil pricey ($20 for pad Thai with shrimp and $15 for a burger) as I have learned to accept this living in NYC.
Great new addition to the neighborhood, fun for a nice date night
I rarely give low reviews. So here we go!
It was a really weird vibe as soon as we walked in. The lady at the register seemed pretty cold to me and my family but seemed to have warmer disposition to other customers - felt very unwelcoming. Seems consistent with a couple other reviews.
The food was Mid.
The wings were bland. The only seasoning came from the sauce which was disappointing.
The burger was dry.
Drunken noodles overpriced for the portion size and didn’t enjoy the dish.
Going to this spot made me question how it’s serving the community considering the service, food and vibe we experienced.
Felt more trend than substance.
Surprisingly dessert was a standout. Get the coconut pie. Recommend the crispy rice salad. Drunken noodle was average and too salty. Was a bit underwhelmed by the clam toast. Service was good.
Lovely addition to a neighborhood that has too many bland food options! The coconut kare came in a real coconut with actual coconut pieces, so delicious. The Thai tea cake was light and not too sweet with great flavor. Service was a little slow but they are new and figuring it out. Glad to see this place open!
Came in on a rainy Saturday. Made a reservation online for 5pm. When I made the reservation it stated that there was a fee of 25$ per person if you came late. So we arrived exactly at 5 only to find the door locked.
We waited a couple of seconds and one of the waitors let us in, welcomed us and left. We said hi to one of the other staff in the dining area. They looked at us and said nothing, so my friend assumed we just should choose a table as the whole resturant was empty. As soon as my friend put my bag down in the booth that staff member asked us if we had a reservation. We said yes and I told them my name. The staff member then paused for a while then said that I was supposed to be at the bar..okay fine.
The food overall was good. But if you have a favorite Thai spot that you go too. I wouldn't go out of your way unless they have a specific dish that your fave spot doesn't sell.
The dessert was actually the star of the show. If they opened up a bakery I would be there all the time.
I kinda feel bad writing this review because the other staff were so lovely. Since we had bar seats and were able to see the kitchen, the kitchen staff also spoke to us. It was nice to hear how much pride they took in their cooking. The particular staff member who ignored us kinda just went around with their iPad the entire time not talking to any of the other guest so it was awkward and made the place feel a little overstaffed compared to the size of the dining area.
Overall I wouldn't go back because of that. I think it's weird to be in a neighborhood with a large black population and treat black patrons of your restaurant as if you are surprised they are there... Idk
Amazing food and the service was fantastic! The owners were so nice!
I came here as a party of 1 on a Saturday 15 minutes after they opened, and was able to be seated within 5 minutes. The service was good as from my experience I had nothing to complain about. The first thing I got were the wings which had good flavor similar to soy garlic but had no crisp whatsoever. This was a bit underwhelming as they were breaded wings which crunch is an expectation. I got the holy basil minced pork as well. The flavor of this dish was very good just extremely rich in umami flavor. As I got about halfway through the dish it started to get fatiguing, it could have used something like a pickled vegetable slaw to balance out the rich flavor. All in it was $40 for the 2 dishes I got. Also, I could not help but observe the portion of pad Thai the person at the table next to me got as it was quite small. This was surprising to me as I thought my portion was a nice size and they were in the same price range. That portion or price definitely needs to be adjusted as I could overhear there disappointment. Overall it was a good experience, I would definitely give it another try in the future but am not itching to do so.
Tried their signature burger and it was excellent. Id suggest it without the egg. Id go back for it.
Their minced pork dish was ok, nothing special.
Very crowded and cramped. And no reservations so seating is a hit or miss.
the food was so salty that it was borderline inedible. service was fine.
What a fun new addition to the neighborhood! TBH the food is 4 starts but the whole experience was 5 so still giving it a 5 star rating- read on for details.
Crispy rice salad - no notes. Se freaking delicious.
Clam toast- super yummy! Really fresh tasting clams. Gorgeous broth. I wish there was more herbs to cut the flavor of the broth. Also wish there was more toast to mop the broth up. Will def still order again as is.
Pad Thai- I thought it was heaven- my husband thinks it should have been more spicy.
Cabbage- honestly not great. If I was the type of person to send a dish back a would. It needs more jujj- it’s just a bit boring.
Music is great! Service is great!
🌺
Came for the burger (Krapow Smash) and whewww. The flavor on the burger is incredible and you can tell all the ingredients are really well made and procured. Also tried the Thai tea cake and it was also fantastic.
The design of the space is really great and you can tell a lot of thought went into the interior details. The service set up however, is a little awkward and cramped but it's still a very new spot so things may change as they get adjusted. Excited to try more things on the menu.
Absolutely delicious food. Huge addition to the neighborhood. Eat the pork chop. Do it. Don’t think about it, just do it. Get some rice, dip it into the sauce and smile.
Crab Rangoon was perfect, clam sandwich was fine but you better like it salty, crispy rice salad was very tasty and recommended.
Service was efficient and friendly.
I’ll be back!
Had the crispy fish split with a date, which was very good, but not very filling, and getting a cup of steamed rice is 4 dollars extra. Idk. Charge what you want i guess but there's something cultural and deep within me that says the rice should just be there. 🤷♀️
Super good street food. A new favorite.
Excellent food! The owner was very kind ♥️
The food was well made, a tad bit over seasoned and aromatics were high, i started sneezing. The ambiance was really good, small intimate dining area. The service was not good. The server was unfriendly, did not provide any descriptions of the food even though i asked questions. We were not treated like it was our first time. I specifically asked if the drunken noodle was spicy and he blatantly said “idk.. not to me” no description of ingredients, nothing. The prawns are overpriced, and the minced pork was fatty, dry and over cooked. It had no sauce/gravy. The drunken noodle tasted good but the chili/pepper was not evenly distributed, so a few bites were extremely spicy and overwhelming. Crab Rangoon was overpriced, the aftertaste was weird but the outside was cooked perfectly.
last minute reservations had us seated at the counter, which might be the best seats in the house.
dishes we had :
- grilled head on prawns,
- crispy rice salad w sour fermented pork sausage,
- holy basil minced pork with an added fried egg on top,
- hot and sour charred cabbage stir fry
- side of steamed jasmin rice
everything was on the level and fairly priced. the shrimp were phenomenal. if i had to give feedback, it would be only that the bowl of holy basil minced pork could do with a few pieces of lettuce to make wraps with. and that the cabbage stir fry was just a bit salty for our tastes (this was balanced out by eating it in tandem with the rice).
was the perfect amount for two people, though i was eyeing the crispy sea bass i saw being taken to other tables (another time!). like i previously wrote, we sat at the counter with full view of the kitchen and it always feels nice to get a warm smile from the chefs while they're doing their thing (looking at you, chef on the pass). our server was also very attentive, friendly, and informative.
welcome to the neighborhood little grenjai <3
Had a great meal here. The burger and pork chop are amazing.
Welcome Little Grenjai to the neighborhood. The space is brightly lit with lots of daylight, with a modern retro interior, with diner style tables and seats. Staff is friendly but the layout is a little awkward due to the counter service ordering from the coffee bar instead of the front counter, so cramped lines form inbetween tables.
Their Krapow Smashburger is a fantastic take on a smashburger by adding a flair of thai flavors throughout. Chili infused beef patty, american cheese, pickled vegetables (incl. carrots, peppers, and cauliflower!), thai holy basil, and a shrimp-based sauce. This burger is unlike any other burger and tastes like it came right from the streets of Thailand.
Peek Gai Tod fried chicken is good with a great blend of seasoning and marinade. The exterior was nice and crispy with the chicken still tender, albeit slightly oiley. The burgers came out first whereas I had to ask about the chicken since I wasn't sure if it was forgotten about or not. Strange to have the apps come after the mains but since they're brand new they're likely just trying to find the right pacing in the kitchen.
Knock on the menu variety and pricing. The small yet wide variety of dishes seems like it would overwhelm the kitchen and some items are way overpriced (ie. congee is $14 with pork being a $4 add-on). They have a wide variety of beer and wine being served but no coffees or teas despite there being an espresso machine at the coffee bar?
Would love to come back for dinner service or their monthly Tender Bits pop-up as it looks like an awesome experience.
newly opened! interesting takes on familiar dishes, seems like they just need to sort out some of the smaller bugs like order management. very kind staff
Incredible food, cute dining room, fun atmosphere. We had the crispy rice salad, holy basil minced pork, and drunken noodles with duck confit. Everything was masterfully made and totally delicious.
Best joint in town, burgers top tier, wine list impeccable, every dish I keep coming back for. Yum.
Amaaaaazing
Incredible place. The Thai American food is like nothing I’ve had before, with bold flavors and creative innovations. The staff and space are also wonderful. This place is a gem!
Talented chefs!
Fantastic pad kaprow burger bursting with flavor, and Thai cake. Very nice people working too. Great vibe
Got delivery and it was amazing!! Highly recommend.
Absolutely delicious duck larb!! Such a good quick lunch spot- you’re not gonna find much better gourmet take out in the area.
I am so obsessed with everything I've tried from Little Grenjai, and am thrilled that I can enjoy the food on-site in the Nimbus event space!
Excellent food experience! Top notch. We had the Holy Basil Brussels, pork skewers, Bamee Moo Krob, cucumber salad, and each dish was so flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend!
This place is amazing! High quality Thai food cooked to perfection. Every dish we got was sooooo delicious — especially love the Bamee Moo Kron with Cracklin Pork Belly, and the Brussels! Don’t miss this Brooklyn gem!!
This was the best delivery Thai food I’ve ever had! And I’ve ordered a lot of Thai in my life. The flavors were bold and balanced, and left me feeling satiated and great after the meal. The chicken wings were so flavorful, the dipping sauce they came with was addictive. The duck leg and ramen noodles were perfectly cooked. All the meat was tender and juicy. And the Brussels sprouts were to die for, I kept going back for more. This is such an elevated and authentic Thai food experience, I can’t wait to order again and try everything on the menu!
Loved loved loved it!
