A family owned and operated Thai restaurant that has been serving the Plano area for 20
Years! We have many regular customers who are Ike family to us. We can accommodate special food restrictions. Come and join us!
Visited for a casual dinner on Sunday night around 08:45 pm. To my surprise they close by 09:30 and the moment I enter they were hurrying and communicating that the close by 09:30 and last place last order due to which could not enjoy my dinner with my family.
Ordered two cocktails one with Lychee flavor and other which I don’t recollect name which were decent.
Ordered Appetizers Golden bags - chicken but i got taste of only potatoes and carrot and no trace of chicken.
Ordered Thai green curry mentioning it should not taste sweet, but as usual it was sweet! Is there any Thai restaurant that provides Green/Red/Yellow curries that does not taste sweet in US! Plz comment
I came here for a birthday dinner and it was perfect. Our server was attentive and made great recommendations. I had the Paradise Seafood Curry and it was delicious! The crab and cream cheese roll was good but I expected more from it. The prices are pretty reasonable for the portion too. Overall, I’m happy with my experience and would return.
Wonderful place! Very good food, amazing service, and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very friendly as well! I had trouble deciding on a dish, but the workers suggested the Yellow Curry Fried Rice. Very delicious! My friends very much enjoyed their meals as well. Although we went here in June on a busy Friday evening, we were quickly seated and served. This is a wonderful place to sit down and eat with friends or family. I will be coming here again!
I had an outstanding experience at this Thai restaurant! The ambience is superb, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The chicken satay with peanut sauce is a must-try, and the spring rolls paired perfectly with the diverse spicy sauces, especially the chilli oil sauce. The red curry was delicious, and the smoked flavor in the pad see ew was delightful. Exceptional fried rice and can't wait to mention the absolutely delicious mango ice cream, adding a delightful sweet touch to the overall experience.
Food is not all that great. Have had much better thai food.
Very poorest reception lady who receives people to take head count for seating ... very rude...food may be great....would be great if she can recieve people in a nice way
The best!! The entire staff kicked butt!! There were over 50 of us and they took such good care of all of us. The food was spectacular and full of flavor. I love everything about this place. This place will not disappoint you!
Went there last night usually good food with no issues but I had the salmon and not even an hour later had horrible food poisoning still going on the next day too.. will never come here again
Really good food. I recommend the red curry (comes with white rice).
The only problem was that staff kept disappearing, so we had to wait a bit when having to ask for more food/check.
Overall would come back again.
🍛🚪
We had dinner there last night. Everything was very fresh and taste. Very homemade. More unique sauces than usual. Not sugary like a lot of Thai places. Very helpful service. Will definitely go there again.
Samui Thai Cuisine is a true gem in Legacy Plano!
The ambiance is warm and inviting, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring we had a wonderful dining experience.
The food was absolutely exquisite. We started with the delightful sunrise rolls and shumai, both perfectly crispy and flavorful. For our main courses, we indulged in the pad Thai, Chicken Larb Gai, and green curry – each dish was a masterpiece. The flavors were expertly balanced, and everything was cooked to perfection.
I highly recommend Samui Thai Cuisine for an unforgettable Thai dining experience.
Excellent green curry and Thai beef jerky
The ladies who answer the phone here are so rude and unprofessional. It’s a repeat thing. I actually stopped eating there for a long time even though I like the food and live close by, solely for how rude they were on the phone. I was recently in town for the holidays and thought to give it another try, she talks way too fast like you’re an inconvenience to her, hangs up on you mid-sentence.
She told me 5 minutes I don’t know why and it took 20+. I got home and she got my order wrong, I called to explain that she needs to be better and less impatient on the phone because she got my order wrong, she said she would refund my card and I never saw anything. Clearly others have had this same experience it’s dissapointing
Food was amazing. We loved it. Server was quite rude. No dinner plates. Gave us the same app plates which are quite small for dinner.
Amazing veg food.

Really enjoyed dining here for lunch. Food is very tasty and great atmosphere too. Service was a little slow, but it was also very busy. I went back with a colleague and I’m glad he really enjoyed it too. We both plan to go back. I’ve had the tom yum and tom kha soups, as well as the red curry and massaman curry. All were delicious.
Just discovered this place and it's close to my office so I'm going to need to show some real self control to not eat there too often. Great, quick service. Love the cool elephant in the lobby. I've had the green curry and the red curry - both excellent. I love the spice so level 5 was just right for me (your mileage may vary). Thanks Samui!
Sad to say that this might be one of the worst Asian meals I’ve ever had.
My partner picked up food from here under the guise that this is a good restaurant. Unfortunately, the food lacks any quality from the calamari sticks to the Tom yum soup - it’s food you can buy from any Asian market (maybe even Walmart) and heat at home. I’d rather get a chicken noodle soup from Panera than pay money for this overpriced food. Heck I’d even go to H-Mart or H-E-B and buy the frozen pre-packed meals from there.
I hate that I have to write reviews when I have these bad experiences, but really this is to encourage this restaurant to please step up your game and stop settling for less. I am grateful that we are all in a position to eat food in the first place.
Stay blessed 🙏🏽
THIS PLACE IS SO SAVAGELY DELICIOUS! EXCELLENT TASTY AND YUMMY THAI AUTHENTIC FOOD AND NOT WATERDOWN AT ALL. ENJOY THE ATMOSPHERE, REASONABLE PRICE, OUR SERVER WAS ERT & HE MAKE SURE WE WERE TAKEN CARE OF. . . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. WE WILL BE BACK...
Samui offers yummy gluten free options. They can make most dishes with tamari sauce and rice noodles. They can gluten free prad ke pao was delicious. Thank you!
Delicious, beautiful, classy experience.
From the moment we walked until we rolled our plump happily fed ourselves out, we enjoyed it all.
Service and atmosphere are great but taste was not authentic.
Food quality is horrible now. I can after many months. Never have such a bad thai food before here . It’s so embarrassing to recommend now
Good ambiance, and good food for lunch.
Very dissapointed about the food, not very falvorfull and seem to be dependent on the spicy to make up for it.
the place has potential but not sure if they are looking to update or keep up with changes.
The fresh rolls that is a basic appetizer was very blend, and had lots of rice paper making very chewy.
The food was pretty bland so you definitely need the provided sauces. I’ve had cheaper food that tasted better.
Was expecting better quality of food. The monsoon fresh rolls were 40% rice paper. Honestly one of the worst spring rolls we have ever had in a thai place. The fried rice was also very average. Service and personnel were nice and friendly but the food sadly not worth it.
It was good 😊
Awesome food. Fresh food. We tried Chicken Satay and Basil fried rice. Seems very very fresh. Peanut sauce is yummy. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to try thai food. Ambience is great and price is reasonable
One of the best Thai food in the area
Harrison worked the front desk and he was excellent!
The yellow curry was really good. The staff were great too.
I saw this place yesterday and decided I would order for lunch. I got the Pad Kee Mow my fav Thai selection... Why is the flavor not there. :( The portion is great but the flavor is lacking. Please fix so I can come back.
Some really good Thai. Green curry is awesome!
Great food and good ambience. Really liked it. Must try.
Ordered Calamari as appetiser and Garden Tilapia. Calamari was quite ordinary. Food is just fine, have had much more delicious Thai food.
Food was delicious I asked for level five spiciness which perfectly fit my taste
the best Thai restaurant ever!
Add 20% gratuity for even a party of 4
Nice staffs, good atmosphere, just the food either too salty or too mushy rice and pad thai.
I’m not sure how I feel about this place. 2 stars might be harsh but 3 is too many. I’m basing my review solely on the food I had during lunch today (6/26/24). Service was good and the restaurant was neat looking. The food however, was mediocre. I tried the golden bags appetizer. Not a lot of flavor and the sauce it came with, was odd. I was expecting some type of sweet and sour sauce but it was more like a fruit jam. I also had the pad see ew with chicken for my lunch. Also lacked a lot of flavor. The broccoli was harder than I like, some of the chicken tasted microwaved (if you know you know) and now that I think about it, I don’t even know if there was egg in the dish. It wasn’t the worst Thai food I’ve had but I would give it another chance. Maybe just a bad day?
The staff here is so friendly and the food is always so fresh and delicious. The sauces on every dish are really great and you can customize your spice level. Really good deals at lunch too.
Great place to visit
Great food. Their curry dishes are very good. Fresh vegetables and good portions. Great place to have lunch or dinner at the restaurant. Also to pick up order for take home dinner.
Awesome thai food. I am not so fond of thai food but this restaurant gave me a different perspective.
Best thai food in plano. Hands down.
Excellent service and food! A great find! We will definitely be back!
This is the very BEST Thai I have ever had. The service was top notch. I highly recommend this place
Be careful. If there service is bad and you don't tip them , they will add tip by themselves onto the credit card. This happened with me. Dishes are expensive. Taste is good but there are other restaurants have same taste. If you are large group, you can expect large bill with large tip. This tip will not show immediately.
A very bad business practice....
We love Samui Thai!! They always come through for us with awesome food and terrific service.
This is a beautiful restaurant. Perfect for date night. The food was better 20 years ago, but everything was better 20 years ago. The service is very good. The location is excellent, and we always seem to be able to park close by.
Good food and nice ambiance. I will go here again.
Excellent Thai cuisine with a wide pallet of flavors to satisfy all comers. Helpful and friendly staff paired with a modern pan-asian interior design motif that hits the upscale casual mark perfectly.
Update: 2024
Still the BEST!!!
Hubby and I were out in this area looking for a new place to eat last Sunday. We decided to have Thai at this place for the first time.
Friendly staff, fast service. Great food!
I ordered the Pad See Lew, and my husband ordered the shrimp fried rice with pineapple.
Both dishes were prepared wonderfully. Very, very tasty. Freshly prepared.
We also ordered one fresh spring roll and 1 fried. Again both very yummy. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go back again this Sunday. Fantastic again!
Will definitely reccomend it to friends!
Decided to try Samui Thai as a convenient and last-minute option. I was pleasantly with the layout of the restaurant and the friendly service. The Tom Kha soup was fabulous and the house wine paired really well with it. The spring rolls were excellent also. Will definitely come back and explore more options.
I came here for a birthday dinner and it was perfect. Our server was attentive and made great recommendations. I had the Paradise Seafood Curry and it was delicious! The crab and cream cheese roll was good but I expected more from it. The prices are pretty reasonable for the portion too. Overall, I’m happy with my experience and would return.
drunken noodles were horrible that we couldn’t eat one bite. Very disappointing
Food was bad. Partly cooked chicken which really threw me off. Service is okay. Atmosphere is amazing
Food is ok. We have been coming here for long time and quality has come down. They started adding 20% tip for group of 4. That should be our choice 15-20, should not be forced.
Very good food!
Had everyday fried rice with shrimp based on my friends recommendation and I'm glad I did. Food quantity was adequate and quality is something you would want to come back.
Service was spot on. Really great. The food was a bit salty for my taste but overall had good flavor.
The Pad Thai is so good, a must-have!
WHAT A WASTE!!! Poor food with utterly terrible service. Ordered the moo fye dish on the menus and the Rice was dry and stale. Dish served was cold and the service gap between the appetizers and entrees was super long and unappetizing. Never visiting again. Also 20% gratuity added automatically for a party of 4 and more which is terrible for the service offered. Horrible experience overall.
UPDATE: Also the restaurant attempting to discredit my critique reinforces my opinion about the subpar quality and service. Here is my response to the restaurant
1. Questioning my knowledge about the dish won’t compensate the lack of quality and service.
2. Last I checked stale is defined as ‘no longer fresh and pleasant to eat; hard, musty, or dry.’
3. No, I don’t remember my servers name.
4. This was not the first time I was eating at a restaurant and do understand the difference between a normal wait time between appetizers and entrees and delayed service.
Lastly, Rather than questioning my knowledge, concentrate on enhancing your offerings and posing constructive questions such as "How can we improve?" for sustained success in the industry.
Customer service. The waiter continously argued with me when I pointed out that the food ordered was incorrect. Never visiting again! Please save your money for a better restaurant.
While the food is okay, the service is poor, and the employees are rude, including the manager. No common sense policies.
Additional cost if you take the leftovers togo and 20% mandatory tip is not justified for the poor service.
Nice food, ambience, and service.
One of my favorites. Fabulous.
There's this one hot waiter with brown hair. im in love with him
Always excellent quality food. My goto restaurant for Thai food.
Everything we had was very good. Especially liked the green curry with tofu at level two heat. Shrimp toast were interesting and good, not the kind of shrimp toast you might get at a Chinese restaurant. These were slices of baguette with shrimp and pork that seemed to be fried. House salad with Ginger dressing was delicious. Crispy tofu and eggplant was yummy. Had that with the ginger sauce. Pad soon sen was also quite good. Service was nice if a bit slow. They forgot our drinks from the bar. Restaurant was a bit on the dark side. Will definitely go again.
We had a terrible experience with the server name NIKI.she was rude, careless and mannerless. The server was tossing items onto the table rather carelessly. Unfortunately, the soup was spilled due to her lack of caution, and she didn't offer an apology or take any steps to clean up the mess.
Food and ambience was good but i am never going to visit again and refer anyone.
Really delighted! The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
Love the food here! Always fresh and on point. The service is usually quick, but I am only here for lunch. Definitely need check out the dinner vibes sometime. I’m sure it is very nice too!
The place all together is very cool and unique! The dishes are great too and so is the service.
Spicy basil chicken was on point
On a visit from India to Dallas, I was taken to this restaurant on 17 Nov 2023. This was my first tryst with Thai cuisine. Being an Indian and vegetarian, the local cousins helped decide the dishes. We had cashew and pineapple fried rice, Singapore stir fry noodles, Pad Thai and Red Thai curry and House salad with ginger and grape dressing. Of course the instructions were " No meat". We also ordered a Thai iced tea.
The waitress attended to us with a smiling countenance, and that added to the experience. The food came up very fast and each dish tasted wonderful.
The iced tea was very refreshing. The salad dressing was very tasty and added to the taste of a wonderful green salad. Each dish was very good.
For a vegetarian, this was a very good meal.
Compliments to the staff for cheerfully serving us and producing a yummy meal.
Would love to visit again......
Awesome food and Service. It feels good after lunch or dinner. I had multiple client meetings and family dinners.
Fantastic Thai selections and the best iced tea in 12 counties. Always very good service and dining. They can accommodate large parties if you call ahead.
Our first time there, with a friend And we loved the food and the service.
The best thing about the restaurant is to know that the owner cooks the food and they have been around for a few decades.
Whenever I come to Dallas, I always come here. On my last visit they messed up my cousin’s order and not only did they give us a free meal, but they didn’t charge us for his drink. Can’t wait to come again!
Awesome food. Spiced right. Service fast and friendly.
Food was good just as expected from a Thai restaurant. Satay chicken, spicy edamame beans and fried rice were really good. We just didn't like the Singapore Noodles here. That was very bland.
There was only 1 server available that time but she was very good. She was very helpful in suggesting options. Food was tasty. Mango desert is must try.
Top of the line Thai cuisine fantastic place to take your family, a date, or by yourself. Definitely 5 star across-the-board. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody that loves Thai food. The atmosphere, the employees are top notch. Give it a try you won't be sorry.
Excellent curries and appetizers. Service was prompt and friendly. Thanks for having us!
Family run business for more than 20+ years.
The food is simply EXCELLENT compared to all the Asian joints in the entire county.
Great ambience!
All of the staff take care of their customers extremely well.
Highly recommend going to this place for a great outing!
Special shout out to Nikki for she takes so much passion in serving her clients !
As usual, excellent! Our absolute favorite restaurant never fails to deliver!!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Samui Thai cuisine in Plano, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and friendly smiles from the staff.
The interior of the restaurant was beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. The seating was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing meal.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Samui Thai cuisine offered a wide variety of traditional Thai dishes, and I was impressed by the extensive selection. With so many options to choose from, it was hard to decide!
I ended up ordering the pad Thai and green curry, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. The pad Thai was perfectly executed, with a delicate balance of flavors and a generous serving of fresh ingredients. The green curry had just the right amount of spice, and the combination of vegetables and tender chicken made it a delectable treat.
Aside from the main dishes, the restaurant also offered a variety of appetizers and soups. I tried the spring rolls and tom yum soup, and they were both outstanding. The spring rolls were crispy and packed with flavorful vegetables, while the tom yum soup had a rich and tangy broth that left me craving more.
The service at Samui Thai cuisine was also top-notch. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and answer any questions. They ensured that my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable, and I truly appreciated their efforts.
Overall, I highly recommend Samui Thai cuisine in Plano. The combination of delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service make for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Thai cuisine or looking to try something new, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
I will call tomorrow to discuss this
Food was ok. Too many idols everywhere it was uncomfortable.
The service and atmosphere were really good. But the food seemed like it was cooked in rush. None of the items that we ordered today felt a good taste. Our utensils also gave some bad odor. Came in with good expectations but was disappointed.
The food is delicious 😋
You must try this place. Very nice food, good ambiance and awesome service.
food was amazing and great sized portions, service would recommend extra dishes to us but not tell us how much they were, spicy levels are good and drink were okay
Great Thai restaurant! I really love their portions and they are reasonably priced. Really enjoy the chicken or pork fried rice here. Especially with the hot oil sauce on it.
A bit salty to my taste but my friends said okay. Nice and vibe restaurant.
This place is actually pretty good.
The highest spicy level actually has a kick to it unlike some other Thai places where you wonder if they know what spices are and everything tastes bland.
I use to come here often when I worked nearby and forgotten how good it was. Good thing to know that the quality hasn't gone downhill due to Covid times.
Our vegetarian eater also liked the food so that says something. Still good and def will be back, well at least for lunch.
Consistent and very delicious Thai food, I have ordered take out and ate in the restaurant many times, service is always friendly and prices are reasonable. It’s my “go-to” Thai restaurant.
My family, especially my kids, were so happy that we came here for Dinner. The service was excellent. The waitress made us feel welcomed and special. She also volunteered to take pictures and took some good ones of our family. We ordered a Satay for appetizers and kids entrees first. The food came out real fast and my kids loved it. Wife and I ordered the Red Curry and Pad Kee Mow. The entrees are good size portions. So if you are not too hungry, you could share one with your spouse. We loved how everything tasted. They even boxed our leftovers for us. We then ordered the fried ice cream and loved how they brought out a flaming ball. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and we look forward to going back again.
Loved the food here and drinks were awesome!!
Love this place! My family goes here all the time for Thai food and the workers are super nice. The food is delicious and my personal favorite is the pad see ew. Definitely recommend this place!
Very good food, with large portions
Average food, good interiors.
Excellent food and service. 😊😁
Love the Pad Thai and the location :)
0 star.
Every thing was sweet. All the food had same flavor and sweetness. Pad Thai, panag curry, fried rice and the sauce they gave with egg rolls every thing was so yucky and sweet. Server was rude. She brought entrées first, then drinks and at last appetizers. Tried to cancel the drink and they denied(even though drinks came after entrees).
I don’t recommend this place unless it someone wants have sweet food.
The entire staff was extremely welcoming and the food was excellent We were very impressed with our experience. Definitely recommend and will be back soon!
Lunch by myself and bill included 18% of tip no choice. Non sense restaurant or might be server.
Great food. It is not as much (I feel) that you once got (which was probably too much), but is still amazing. I love to go when I am in town.
Excellent lunch place for a quick in and out with really flavorful food. Have been there twice and never been disappointed. The food is always warm and each dish has its own unique flavor combo.
Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed and very pleasantly surprised.
In this period of all good getting very expensive the cost/value ratio is worthwhile
Incredible service. and I mean INCREDIBLE. They are very responsive and attentive but they don't bug you like some other spots do. Very friendly as well. and the food? yessss. Very very VERY good. The ambience is very beautiful as well.
Highly recommend!
It was okay. I went with a group of coworkers. There is plenty of seating here. Our server was not very welcoming, she seemed rushed. Our food was placed in the center of the table, not directly in front of us, so that was odd to me. I had the Garden Tilapia. The tilapia was a bit overcooked causing it to be chewy. The Thia Tea was good. I found it to be a tad pricey and their lunch menu was limited. I won't take the initiative to go back, but if a coworker wants to go I will try something else.
Great food and service.
This place is casual dining Thai food and in a nice area… the food is just okay. I think from so many different Thai and Asian restaurants, this one was not worth going out of our way for. My other comment is… if you are a “Muslim” I would not come here as you will be offended and struck by all of the idols as you walk inside. From the door entrance itself, to each wall, to pictures all over the restaurant, it was VERY overwhelming and I’ve never seen anything quite on this level. We were uncomfortable being there the entire time. Sorry, but due to religious beliefs and values, this one did not sit well.
The Pad Thai and egg rolls are very good!
Very nice place and very close to home!
Noisy, crowded, cramped and uncomfortable. One waitress for 20 tables and the poor lady was overworked for sure. There is not much selection for vegetarians and it being in an upscale area, the prices are a bit high. The drinks are good. The decorations are beautiful.
Been coming here for 10+ years. Only problem is chicken pad Thai is so good I don't order much else 😆. Also plenty of vegetarian options for my wife so everyone is happy.
Wonderful place. Had been looking for a VERY long time for a good Thai place since moving from Dallas to McKinney. Everything we tried was ok and never what we wanted. Today we came here under recommendation from family and are leaving more than happy. Our new place for sure!
My favorite Thai restaurant in North Dallas for the past 13 years. Family owned, great food, sweet staff and very nice location.
