Bad reviews here are either "My door-dash was bad" or "What I ordered wasn't what I expected."
Over-pampered Karen whine, basically. If you haven't gotten hip to DD+friends bringing you ill-handled & over-cooled deliveries, well you're gonna keep getting bad food. Blaming the people that make the meals isn't the problem, and the rest of us that see you doing it are judging your manners as well as your pallet.
Likewise, if you are expecting bland suburban slop you've come to identify as "foreign" cuisine, then sharp and spicy authentic tastes will be unappealing to you.
If, however, you like legit Thai food, this place is likely the best in town.. I appreciate a good meal, and am happy to get one even with some faff. Unlike other places in town, she's eager to take my money - a behavior worth identifying and rewording with repeat business. Others, I guess, are just satisfied with tasteless gruel as long as they get flattered and pampered. There's a Chilies on the next block to the east and a Buffalo Wild Wings across the street, and I'm sure you'd find their gruel to your tastes
Too many places in this town seem far too annoyed that they are obligated to take money in exchange for goods and services, and that there's one that isn't so uptight about it is a blessing.
Great food.
Writing this review actually makes me very sad. One day a week I coach figure skating in Santa Fe and for the last couple of years I have stopped at Thai Cafe for either lunch or dinner. I became good friends with the owner. I run an animal rescue and she adopted one of our kittens. The food was always delicious and fresh and hot. I am a celiac vegetarian and for the longest time she accommodated my dietary restrictions. Once in a great while, I might have a slight reaction to the food, indicating that it wasn’t truly gluten-free, but it was never anything too Concerning. This past spring I became quite ill after eating my Thai takeout. There was a bug going around. It could’ve been that so I didn’t think too much about it until a couple of months later when I was really ill. That was two incidents fairly close together. I tested the food, with an ELISA test, and it was not gluten-free. My reaction was extreme enough that I nearly called 911. In the past, I have offered to buy a pan that could be exclusively gluten-free. It wouldn’t even have to be exclusively vegetarian. I was willing to work with Anne to find a solution that wouldn’t be difficult for her, but would keep me from getting so horribly ill. And she never returned my call. So the bottom line is IF you are one of the lucky ones and don’t have to steer clear of gluten, You should have a lovely meal. If you are gluten intolerant or have celiac disease, you will be taking your chances. there are menu items that are naturally gluten-free. I would suggest sticking to those. But anything could be subject to cross contact issues.
The food was just ok, not special. I ordered pad Thai beef and it was sweet. There was no mention of sugar or sweetness on the menu. I asked for spice level 1 and it was not spicy. My companions ordered pad thai chicken spice level 4. He could barely eat it and he did not finish it. We also ordered drunken noodles which was much better. The portions are modest. The steamed chicken pot stickers appetizer was just ok as well. There is no dine in service right now due to covid. Service and staff were just ok.
STAY AWAY!! We ordered a door dash delivery. We followed the instructions perfectly. I have a specific allergy and asked that they be sure to give me bean noodles. They told the driver they couldn’t do that and that they already told me they couldn’t. I never heard from them and they sent the item I am allergic to. When I called them they said “They were a restaurant and couldn’t do specific orders. And they wouldn’t refund my money.” They sent me something to eat that could cause an allergic reaction and thought that was ok. Also the fried spring rolls that cost $8 are the size of a child’s finger. They were horrible!! I spent SO much for a meal I can not eat.
I got the Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodle) with tofu with a medium heat level. It was delicious. The spice was just enough to get my nose running. The taste and the smell of the food were amazing. My tofu was crispy and packed full of flavor. I will definitely eat here again. I got there as soon as it opened at 12 pm and it took about 15-20 minutes.
A lady took my order and I believe she was also the cook. There was a man who brought out the food. I think they were the only two working so if you’re in a hurry, order ahead.
The Tom Gha soup was lukewarm, the galanga and lemongrass was missing, which is essential to this dish, and the coconut broth was very watered down.

Eat Thai regularly on the road and this was hands down the worst I’ve ever had. Threw it away after a few bites.
Very spicy food, grumpy hostess, ambience is bad, expensive food
Unprofessional owner and staff do not recommend spend your money elsewhere! Do better!
This is the only Thai place in town that does spicy right. You'll even get a warning. Unassuming locale is hiding amazing food with a great selection. Pad Thai perfection!

Great food.
I love this place. Pad Thai is my favorite. Been coming here for years and never had a bad experience.

The pad Thai was burnt.

I walked in here about 6:30pm and I saw the cook walk by I say hi and he just glares at me like he's angry and pissed so I stand there waiting to get a table and after a couple minutes finally the lady comes out and tells me oh no we stop seating people at 6:00. If you say that you're open till 7:00 you should seat people to seven and not kick them out until they're done eating. Most businesses are happy to have another customer.
Chill atmosphere with delicious authentic Thai food. Very sweet lady, no wait for our meal. Try the Bangkok Tea and their curry dish - amazing!
The owner is so nice and such good food! Would definitely go again!
A sweet little family business. The food is always delicious! We've always had a great experience coming in--their gluten free pad thai is fantastic!
Drive right on by. Food wasn’t good at all. We had Massaman curry and Pad Thai. The owner was so rude and crabby. The cook/waiter was not friendly. They don’t have glasses of water so you have to pay $3 for their bottled water. Just about the rudest service I’ve ever had. Trust me they are the worst. I suggest the Thai restaurant on Canyon Rd instead.
Terrible. Don’t go. Look for any alternative.
While this may not be the worst meal I have ever had, it is most certainly the worst Thai food I have ever had. I got my favorite Thai dish - panang curry. And it was unrecognizable by sight and flavor. Actually I could not taste it all because of all the salt. It was not spicy at all, and the salt was so strong I must have looked like I was going to pass out because the rude lady who took my order and made me pay in advance and said they don’t have tap water - gave me a free bottle of water. I could not finish my meal. And the dish was watery-yellow with clearly frozen vegetables. Other ratings encourage people to keep in mind this woman is running the place on her own. She was brutally rude to the person who is helping her. The food was so bad and so expensive $27 for one plate and a Thai iced tea. The menu is wrong by about $8 per item. Gross. My friend warned me not to go. He said “read the reviews.” It’s the only Thai place in Santa Fe, and now my body is paying the price. If you’re only here for one night get Mexican. If you are here for 90 days and tired of Mexican - go to Olive Garden. I get it; you love Thai food and even bad Thai is better than none. No, that’s not true. I get one day off of work and thanks to this place I am spending it cradling my stomach in bed. It is dee-scuss-ting. GROSS. Also, the rice was so mushy it wasn’t edible.
The service was slow, the food was mediocre at best and it was super expensive. I was charged %20 more to make the food gluten free and then my partner still had a reaction to it. I'll never go back. Don't waste your time or money.
This place is amazing!
This place HAS to be a money laundering front…
I hate to do this, but I feel I need to warn people not to go here. We wished we would have checked the reviews before we went. To sum it up- rude lady and bad, expensive food.
We wanted water to drink and they sold us bottled water. The cook brought them out and was holding them to his cheeks to cool down, maybe? Weird. The Lady sat at her desk and took our order between her crazy rants. Made us pay before we sat down. Almost $50 for two. The place was empty. We were very hungry so we endured. The spring rolls were mushy and bland. So we stopped eating them. The panang curry was a raw salad on a plate with a small amount of watery sauce. Never seen that and we love Thia food and have eaten it all around the country. We didn't try the curry.
I asked for my money back and she kind of threw it at me, but at least she did.
When the service and food aren't great, I usually just eat and pay and don't come back, but this was really bad and they don't deserve my money.
Maybe it was an off day, but I have never had green curry in soup form (not great). "Fried" tofu was worse.
I have been on this planet over seven decades. Travelled to 68 countries and 49 states. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT A RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!
This woman should not be in any position where she interacts with the public.
We arrived at 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday. The place was completely empty (this should have been a red flag). Immediately, she told us that they were closing at 6:30. I said, "Wait a minute. The signs and the internet says you close at 7:00." She said, "Clean up at 6:30." I said, "Fine, we will eat quickly."
We sit down. She doesn't come to our table to take our orders - we have to project them to her where she is seated.
Three minutes later, she says, "Pay now." This was long before we had even seen our food. At this point we walked out.
Don't give your money to people who treat you with contempt!
Wonderful place! Delicious food, wonderful owner. Highly recommend you go today!!!
Green chile kao pad is very good. The chiles tasted as if fresh out of the roaster. We also had the arroy dee and yakisoba, both very delicious good noodle. I had a good cry - for she is right, "hot" is quite hot. It is nice to be able to get good noodly doods so close to home and to be able to chat with someone who is so nice and personable.
EDIT: I'm not gonna change my rating because the green chile kao pad is stupidly good, but I am going to share an experience.
Madame Noodle seems to be the only front-of-house, and possibly the only one fluent in English. Last time we went to Noodle Treats, we were a group of 4 and there were no menus present, but there was a couple seated at a table reading one. She walked over and requested the menu back from them for us, and they ended up silently walking out without purchasing. That hurt to watch. We placed our order and sat down. Shortly after, someone came in, and waited about thirty minutes for Madame Noodle's presence. She was busy with something in back-of-house. Our whole party felt bad because here was this incredibly patient guy, waiting for noodle - sitting in various seats, taking in atmosphere, not even embroiled in cell phone. Madame Noodle finally showed up, informing him his take-out order will be ready in 15 minutes - after 30 minutes of him waiting with no front-of-house.
Please Mrs. Noodle I like your food but I can understand why your reviews are so controversial.
If you make hungry people feel unwelcome because you are the only front-of-house but have to do other things, they are going to nitpick the heck out your noods.
It is hard to teach employees, especially when there's a language barrier, but your business absolutely needs someone to front customers that isn't just you.
Unsolicited business advice is a certain hell, yeah, but mate I just really like the green chile kao pad please don't die
The people who love this place must have no taste or standards. Food was bland and NOT authentic style Thai food. I have eaten at many Thai restaurants in this country and this is by far the worse and will not return or recommend it. The lady was rude and pushy and my drink was served in a to-go cup and was shorted about an inch. The owners aren't from Thailand so this may be the source of the problem. The only other Thai restaurant in town in close to the Plaza, so these people have a monopoly on the southern part of town. They better pray another Thai restaurant doesn't open up close to them or they will go out of business fast.
We got our food to go so not sure about the atmosphere rating. The Thai owner was lovely but the food was too sweet, too Americanized as they say in Bangkok (where we lived for many years).
I love coming to this restaurant. Amazing food every time and Great costumer service. I’ve been eating here since at least 2016. Even when I have left the state I missed this food! I recommend you to eat here I promise you, you won’t be disappointed!
Good flavor, friendly owner,
Ann was so sweet and friendly and the food was divine. I will be back
Great food with friendly service!
The food here is excellent - the best tofu ever!!! The proprieator is a lovely lady, basically running the business single-handed with one assistant cook, and those who criticize the service had best keep this in mind. Also, don't ignore the heat ratings - if the menu says it's hot, it's HOT! You can't say you weren't warned, so the no-refund policy is perfectly understandable. Will definitely eat here again!
I have no idea why people review this place poorly, I personally think the food is amazing, service has always been great
Went back for a takeout meal after being underwhelmed in the past, and wow what a difference. Flavorful, excellently prepared, authentic food. Excellent!
Great food, tofu in the drunken noodles was superb and the veggies were fresh and crunchy. Excellent service for walk-in take out
I was disappointed in the food. The curry was very greasy and not at all what I was expecting - I consider myself a Thai curry connoisseur.
I tried the Spicy Thai Cafe Noodle Soup and it was excellent. I will come back here again
The food was amazing! We had red curry with pineapple it was so rich and yummy. Also had Aroy Dee Noodle what amazing flavors both these had. Can hardly wait to go back and try something else. It was our first time and we were very impressed. Ann is such a sweetheart and such a matter of fact kind of gal loved visiting with her and getting to know her better.
My partner and I come here once a week if not more often. The owner is a sweet lady that always remembers our order and always is pleasant to talk to. We’ve had every single item on her menu now and not one has been bad. Please try her food if you have not already! Keep her in business.
I ordered a Tom yum Gong soup, there is a beef fried powder, beef fried powder is burnt, can not eat, some raw, beef carefully look at some black, cooking too much, I want to refund, two $41, more expensive than other Thai food, not as good as the downtown food truck set, very delicious.
!!!!!BEWARE!!!!
The prices on the menu are NOT ACCURATE (costs about $4 more than whats listed) and you are none the wiser until you see the total
on the menu Drunken noodle with shrimp should be 17.95 and the Curry with Tilapia is 16.95, Thai Iced tea is about $5 each and there were 2 on my order. So why did my bill come up to $52 and change??? When I asked the cashier she quickly flipped the menu and showed me the bottom which read, "Prices are subject to change without notice." Then she chortled that those were pre-COVID prices..... it is now Nov 10, 2023... Covid happened almost 4 years ago... So I was overcharged because of a 4 year old menu and told there would be no refund.
The food was really decent. The Thai Hot is really REALLY REALLY FREAKIN HOT YO!! so be careful if you get anything that hot.
I suppose the place was going through renovations because it looked on the thin line of raggedy and work in progress. It was also really cold in there, so I'm guessing the heat didnt work.
I'd say if you are able to get the real prices I suppose its okay
Worst Asian food I've ever had, and really mean owner.
The food is good, but you have to call in your orders and their phone line is down 4 out of 5 times (literally, counted from trying). So you literally can't order. Ordering in person also doesn't make sense since the waiting room is 3 chairs.
If you could reliably order it'd definitely be a higher review.
This was such a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and super fast! We were just in town and craving Thai but ended up having a beautiful experience. The food was delicious. 10/10 recommend.
Good food, friendly atmosphere.
Want authentic Thai food, give this place a try. The owner is very nice and the food is very good. We had Pad Kee Mao and Aroy Dee Noodles.
I have been eating here since 2018. The food is always top notch! The owner is really nice and friendly. The red panang curry is my favorite. This is one of my favorite restraints in Santa Fe
I really enjoyed the I really enjoyed Pad Kee Mow. I ordered it Thai hot Style. It is the hottest chili in Santa fe. Order it only if you can take the heat. Yes I could still taste the wonderful flavors!
Amazing food and service!
This is a great restaurant run by a woman who is also the chef and I think taking orders as well. She's doing a great job with her business. Support her.
The restaurant is casual and sweet, and reminds me of street food because it's so delicious and real. The drunken noodles are my favorite and I will drive out of my way to have them. The sauce is rich and dimensional and delicious.
Lady at the counter kept hyping up the "hot". Good thing I didn't change my mind because it was not spicy at all.... two people for a thai restaurant also should not cost $50. Considering the state of the place and also the sub par ingredients.
Overpriced and very rude staff wont go back
Really love there food it's so fresh and tasty and great customer service❤️
My family and I enjoyed the best green curry we've ever had here in the fall. We returned a few days ago and were not disappointed. Delicious with subtle flavors I've not had the pleasure of experiencing elsewhere. Each of us ordered a different level of "heat" and our meals arrived clearly labeled and spiced to perfection.
I understand they've had trouble hiring help as most restaurants have since the pandemic years and it was clearly explained to us that they were unable to offer full table service, so I couldn't possibly count that against them.
The lady taking orders (owner/manager?) was very nice, friendly, and apologetic about the lack of full table service. We wish them the best of luck and have every intention of returning when we next visit Santa fe.
horrible experience, we wanted to try something new and this place looked good, we went in an were optimistic even though the customer service hadn’t been great. We waited about 20 minutes for our food which was pretty average for three people, we then were two bites in and found blue plastic on the chicken and a hair in the food. We confronted the owners and they said we were lying to them, very rude and handled very poorly, we left with a partial refund and will never return.
Ordered panang curry. Got flavored broth with a vegetable medley.
Lady is rude but the food is bomb. Get the spicy stuff!
Love this place, it's the best Thai we've found in Santa Fe. We order take-out frequently and have never had a bad meal.
The greeter was not interested in my being there in my opinion. She took my order and left the front desk never to return. As I dined in they never came to my table after bringing my food. Didn't ask if I wanted anything else......added for my noodles @2 level hot, got them @ 4+. Not returning to this establishment anytime soon!
Honestly our new favorite place to eat in Santa Fe. The owners are friendly and know our orders after our 3rd visit. Great food. They're understaffed so things take a little longer than usual. If you're worried about the wait just order ahead.
Update: still our favorite place in Santa Fe
I was looking forward to some good Thai food, but will never know about this place as the person who greeted me was not very polite and that immediately made me not want to stay. Plus could see the kitchen and looked like a mess. You have to treat your customers with respect .
The first two times we tried this place it was amazing. Seriously amazing, tell your friends amazing. Unfortunately our expectations had been set too high and we’ve not had a comparable meal since. Every few months (for the last 2 years) we try again but the owners must have switched and/or the good chef must have left. This mediocrity is why we will not be trying again, the disappointment is felt in my belly.
Food was excellent. Set up better for take out than dine in.
Nice people, great service. The food is awful. I got pad thai, it's really really salty with no other discernable flavor. Overpriced at $15, small portion with half the container filled with sprouts.
The food is fine, not good, there is good Thai food in town so I'd recommend going somewhere else.
Always a great experience....
Always delicious food.....
Always a pleasure....
Treat yourself....
Awesome food and excellent service. Easily the best fried rice I’ve ever had!
I am not sure where the origin of this particular Thai food is from but it is different from any I have ever taste. I ordered the green curry with double chicken. My expectation was to get chicken breast but instead I got these brown chicken pieces that were super salty. I couldn't tell if it was peanuts or chicken. The flavor was lacking as well. There was no nuance. It was just salty, even the peanut sauce was salty. The rice wasn't even redeeming because it was very mushy. I will say the staff are kind but maybe I came in on a bad day..?
Very tasty, cozy spot, good parking.
The portion sizes are really good too, reasonable for the price.
My only issue was that wait times were kind of long, but they don’t have a whole lot of staff. Understandable
Rice noodle tofu dish was delishous. Will be going back to this place.
I ordered curry soup and she put large pieces of potato’s, and large pieces of tofu very little sauce I was really disappointed with her she was rude didn’t show any kindness she acted like she didn’t want to take my order. Will never go back there again.
Sign on the door said they close at 7, I showed up at 630 to order to-go and the door was locked. Dude inside just stared at me.
Had an incredible lunch, food is made beautifully.
We were greeted with smiles and generosity. The Tom kha soup hit the spot and the chef specialty arroy dee was incredible. Finished off with Thai coffee/tea and mango sticky rice. Perfection! Thank you!
The worst! Ordered thai fried rice with chicken rice was smothered in a very salty brown sauce ZERO veggies in the fried rice. I will definitely not be ordering again!!
Slimy , greasy food. Dried out almost burnt chicken. Not even good tasting. I have had good food here in the past. I asked for a refund and received another plate of food. Told the very rude lady I just want a refund and she tossed 14.00 at me. I will never go there again.
My husband ordered food from here and he absolutely loved it. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The owner was very nice and works there pretty much by herself, and does a great job all on her own. We can’t understand all the bad reviews. If you try to be more patient and nice to this lady that is doing this all by herself, you can truly appreciate all her hard work and care that she puts into the dishes. My husband had chicken pot stickers, chicken curry fried rice, chicken laab, and chicken panang, and loved everything. We will definitely be ordering from them in the near future.
I am a native Santa Fean and this place has the worst customer service in the city! She looked at my 2 year like he had the plague.
Horrible service. No wonder she had no other customers.
Very rude lady taking orders and the restaurant looks unkept and dirty. I refused to dine in or take away.
We walked in and walked out. The lady who came to take our order was impatient & rude and they don’t deserve anyone’s business.
Btw, couldn’t post this review without clicking that 1 star, hence that 1 star!
Be ready with what you’re going to order - Because the rude/impatient lady that took my order was soooo pushy!! I’m assuming she was the owner!
Went to this place for the first time and they have no servers and they make you pay before you get your food. While paying the lady owner kept on specifying they do absolutely no refunds she said it about 4 times while paying. The food portion was so small like a child’s plate , the food wasn’t even warm/hot (stove hot) and the “Thai tea” tasted so powdery like it wasn’t even made right. For 2 plates it was $50 which is insane as other Thai places have either cheaper prices or they make up the cost by how good the food is unlike this place. They had the place freezing cold after it’s 59° outside and their thermostat on the wall literally said it was 54° inside. Definitely would not recommend this place. Sad experience.
Worst food ever and it was not even Thai food and the chicken was fatty. Don’t recommend
Honestly, I don't understand all of the poor reviews - my husband and I were blown away!
We didn't take pictures because we started eating too fast! I got the tofu drunken noodles, and that was hands down the best tofu I've ever had. Husband's yakisoba was also amazing.
Just as a warning: the cafe is small! Looks like it's just the two amazing folks running the place, so the orders are lovingly prepared and may take a minute. Absolutely worth it to be patient!
Small place but amazing food! I recommend getting the take out though.
I had the pad see ew with pork. The meat was cooked nicely and the noodles were good, but the dish was a little over-salted for me.
It's all about the food. Wonderfully delicious curry. Despondent staff.
Fantastic!!! We had a hard time finding any authentic good tasting Asian food when we moved here from Seattle, but boy is this food good. This is real Thai food! forget all the other places in Santa Fe, come here if you want authenticity.
Amazing geen Chile fried rice.
Been here a few times, always gotten to-go. Small spot with homey feel. The woman at the counter is great. Not sure if she cooks as well but It’s always super fresh and FAST. Be careful on the spice level; I like my mouth to hurt but the ‘hot’ is way hot.
It's like to the owners home kitchen and eating great food overall
When this place first opened I went and posted good reviews all over the internet, in defiance of all the bad reviews that complained about how horrible the attitude and the lousy customer service was. I posted good reviews because the food was decent, better than most here in town, but certainly not as good as what one would get in Thailand. I supported them as a customer but now I've been repaid for my support and loyalty by them telling me to get lost after I complained about their sticky rice dessert being like a baseball-sized rock of glue. It's the worst I've ever eaten, whether in Thailand, NYC or LA, and when I asked for a $7 credit to be applied to a future entre they hung up. So now I understand what all those reviews were saying and I'll never eat here again. By the way, their watery Tom Kha Gai (chicken soup in coconut broth) has a few pieces of tiny chicken so small you'd have to strain the soup to find them! A new Thai has opened in town (Bo's Authentic Thai food truck and Thai on Canyon--both are very good) and that's where I'm going from now on.
You get better customer service at a McDonalds kiosk, food was ok, very spicy. Ordered green curry, was not green nor did it have any curry flavor. Not sure what it was but tasted fine.
Very good, pleasant service. Small place. I would be a regular if I could.
Such a lovely, quiet place to grab a bite to eat on the way out of Santa Fe. Courteous, quick service and absolutely delicious food!
Anna- love ur place..I always get full and yet so satifying...n I know it's good for me. Rice noodle, Agus beef,2 chili level with broccoli my favorite. Thank you as always Ms. Anna
Delicious, not sure why there are bad reviews.... good food, decent prices...
I came here while in town for the night, and was very happy that I did. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and the owner was very sweet and had good conversation.
I ordered the green Chile kao pad with a medium spice level, and it was just phenomenal. Seriously, one of the best Asian dishes I've ever had hands down.
I will definitely be coming back next time I am in town.
Horrible service, horrible food, over priced
Great simple but delicious food
Unbelievably rude.
This place is delicious. I had the curry, and that shi was bussin. Respectfully. Will be coming back next time I’m Im Santa Fe.
My boyfriend and I love this place and I'm shocked that the reviews aren't better. I always get the vegetarian green curry and it's amazing every time. It's also enough for two meals, so I can save half for later. He usually gets one of the meat curries and an order of Tom Kha soup. I like to steal some of his soup sometimes because it's so good. The one thing I will caution you about is that you shouldn't underestimate the spice levels! If you say you want something hot, they will take you very seriously! I recommend "medium" spice level.
No don’t waste your time. Food was burnt somehow and environment dirty too it off with zero customer service… can’t believe I spent $20 only to throw it away
Everything was so delicious! Owner is wonderful too!
Very bad food. Red curry was inedible, so was the pad Thai. The portions were very small and they short changed us on one of the curry. When we called them about it… they said tough luck, you should have checked the order before walking out the restaurant..
My first time, the lady at the register – who I believe is the owner – was quite friendly and pleasant. While the wait was long, we had a nice conversation. She mentioned covid was hurting her business and that she’d like more customers. Consequently, I made a point to return a few days later. My second experience was shockingly different. The same person attended me, but this time she was curt and distant. When I asked a question, she snapped an unfriendly response. It was so off-putting I only ordered a fraction of what I had intended. The food both times was tasty, if a little too sweet. The rice, however, was globby and dry - in the mango sticky rice dessert it was a hardened gelatinous ball that proved hard to eat. The chicken was fresh in both dishes (tum yum soup and red curry), but there was very, very little of it. I counted about seven slivers in a large bowl of soup with little to no vegetables – so it was basically like consuming a large bowl of broth. The flavor was good nevertheless. The red curry was surprisingly not red, creamy nor curry flavored – instead it was a brown gravy - maybe I was given the wrong order? Curiously, the restaurant requires guests wait outside for their order, but themselves don’t wear masks when cooking the food. On a final note, they don’t have a bell or system to alert when customers enter which means a long, at times exasperating, wait. It’s an inconvenience, which, when added to the unfriendliness and food issues weighs strongly against this establishment. I’m sorry to say I can’t recommend Thai Café and Noodle Treats and won’t be returning here.
The lady in the front is so rude. We had to cancel the order just for that. I don't recomend this place.
Very good service and food :)
Pretty good. Only place I can get a Pad Thai on my side of town. The lady that takes my order is always nice and hospitable.
Worst Pad Thai I've ever had, wished I'd read the reviews before going here. The Red Curry was not very good either, and 4 miniscule egg rolls for $8! High-priced, but low quality, we sure won't be back...
I should start by saying I have never left a review for a good place anywhere, but people need to know about this place. We ordered from here on 12/31/21, paid $70 for three meals, a side of spring rolls, and a mango sticky rice. The food was just bad. The pad Thai was 3/4 bean sprouts with a few bits of chicken thrown in. The spring rolls were tiny and soggy. The sticky rice was sour. My $5 Thai iced teas were almost all ice. This is the worst Thai restaurant I have ever over paid for.
They’re so rude.
Horrible customer service. We placed an order for pickup in the restaurant and waited in the car. I came back in and there was an order ready. I asked if it was for Cindy and she said no it's Uber. So I waited an additional 20 minutes. Finally decided to check the ticket and it was our order. I asked the last again and she said no Uber isn't ready. So I asked a 3rd time, if this order is for Cindy and I confirmed what we ordered and she said yes. She was very unresponsive and not very nice. We have came here in the past and there has always been something wrong with the order or the service. It's unfortunate because the food is good, but that was the last straw. Nobody wants to eat cold food when it should be hot.
Service is terrible... order was wrong and didn't receive any utecils or napkins. When I went back in to get some they just ignored me and acted like I wasn't there.
Ordered a simple rice dish with chicken. I took a few bites and tossed it in the trash. Unbelievable. It was burnt bits of chicken swimming in a over sauced rice.
There are a lot of haters out there for this place. I’ve only been once so far but the Pad Thai and Yaki Soba were both fantastic! Level 2 spice was just enough to taste the heat. Level 1 must be zero spice.
Extremely disappointing.. When I asked if the Drunken Noodles were sweet, the rude owner who told me that Thai spices are "sophisticated" as if to imply I don't have any sophistication to understand the complexities of her cuisine. Well, let me tell you, this was the WORST Thai restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of eating at. The yellow curry was brown! The amount of chicken was a joke, barely the meat of one chicken leg in both dishes. I guess for my unsophisticated palate, I wouldn't know any better. Ha! DO NOT waste your money. Awful place. Yuk.
A little pricey, however the food was excellent. I’m unsure why many of the reviews say that this place isn’t great or true Thai. It was both! Some of the best Thai food my family and I have had, and we’ve been to many Thai restaurants.
Food really bad There dont even know how to cook Thai food ... So dont go there
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS! I ordered a STIR FRY Chicken Pad Cashew Nut entree. What I got was some sort of disgusting dish in a watery soup (?)that tasted more like an average Chinese food dish than Thai. I had to fish the very few pieces of chicken out of the container which was about 1/6 filled with that liquid.
I might be wrong, but based on the looks of the person who cooked my meal, they are not Thai but perhaps Chinese (?) , and it is possible that their "Thai" menu is been corrupted by their idea of what it should look and taste like ( Chinese). I will not go back to this place, that's for sure.
I am not sure why this restaurant received so many negative reviews. My noodle entree today was excellent, fresh, flavorful.
I ordered togo food. Once I got home to open what I got was old dried up rice that isn't edible. How can they serve that and think its okay.
Ordered a dish that was supposed to have sweet potatoes & vegetables in a coconut milk mixture. There were 3-4 white potatoes, no sweets, no veggies, the 2 Oz or so of chicken was burnt & 2 dinners that came in a plastic bag with disposable plates & utensils came to $46.50. Atmosphere stinks. Don't waste your money or time.
Lady in the front is extremely rude, the food is decent nothing amazing. Overpriced and small portions. First and last time I come here.
Just horrible food 🤢🤢🤮🤮
Sweetest, friendliest employees and the food is always super fresh and exactly what we're looking for. Have tried the thai iced tea, pad see ew, pad thai, fried rice, and fresh rolls and they're all great, lots of veggies and nice takeout plating.
Very rude reception while owner on lengthy personal call. Then she quoted a much higher price than what was on the menu. :(
Have tried multiple dishes but tonight were the spring rolls, tom kha, and aroy dee noodles with chicken. The noodles and soup had good flavor but low on protein. The soup charged an extra $5 for shrimp but only 2 were in the large container. Chicken was also skimp. Meals are overpriced once you add protein.
This place is a joke and I'm waiting for the punch line.
Nothing special. I always thought this place wasn't as good at Thai Cafe on the north side of town and it got even worse after Thai Cafe closed.
I've been to Thailand three times, and so I say with some experience that this restaurant is very good.
Pretty bad and over priced.
Incredibly flavorful food. Portions are fair. Will be recommending and returning for sure
Be very careful when ordering. They will charge you a LOT more than what the menu prices show. When I questioned them the owner stated that they hadn’t had time to update the website or the menus. They had upped the veggie rolls from $5.99 to $8.99!!!!! And they also upped the prices of the chicken curry by $4.00. This is something they should mention when you call to make the order. I will not eat there again because of this.
The food is mediocre at best.
This is a terrific place❣️
food was good- a bit pricey but solid execution. owner was kind and welcoming.
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Thai salad was limp and swimming in dressing. . The shrimp were rubbery, old and inedible. The noodles that are supposedly the chefs specialty were overly sweet and watery. . The portions were also very small. Even the noodles. I wound up throwing most of it out.
He’d the three star rating we are from out of town and this was the nearest spot. Gave the order expecting the price that was on the website. Was charged way more. Asked the lady why she pointed out the paper menu that price may change. I told her it will be the last dollar she got from me and she said I don’t care go somewhere Elise you aren’t a regular. So they charge higher prices to customers they do not know. Poor business practices. You treat people the same and you will get return customers.
I have seen multiple bad reviews for this place and I must say that it appears to be a case-by-case basis for this. I have dined in, ordered take-out, and ordered delivery through the Fetch app and have not once had an issue with either service or food quality. I absolutely love Thai cuisine and am a huge fan of all things spicy so I always order my dishes Thai Hot. My favorite from this place is the Tom Yum soup which is a delicious treat for me with a heavy dose of spiciness without losing the other flavors. I am no stranger to bad restaurant experiences and I am also aware that sometimes, you just catch a bad break, but for those people who have had a bad experience with Thai Cafe & Noodle Treats, I can only say that I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. But, at the very least, I always will.
I was wary due to the 3 star rating. It’s actually quite good, I tried their Pad Kraw Pra (basil and minced chicken) reminded me of Thailand which is good enough for me.
Best Thai food in Santa Fe! Though their curry cannot be made gluten free, the rest of their food can, and it’s amazing! Delicious Pad Thai and fried rice! Also, incredibly kind and knowledgable people! Thank you!
Decent but not amazing. Having moved here from the NW where there are amazing Thai restaurants everywhere this was disappointing
We have eaten here several times over the years and lately I've gotten takeout for our family. I feel remiss that I haven't reviewed sooner. This food is excellent, consistently high quality and one of our faves. Highly recommend!
If you don’t eat here when you are in Santa Fe you are missing out. The food is fresh and delicious! Cooked to order. Don’t call in, just go to the restaurant. Staff are exceptional and are great at taking your order. They are happy to make any dish gluten free using gluten free soy sauce.
Great service and great food. Always clean, it's my go to for simple Thai food.
Worst Thai food I've EVER had (and that's a lot). So salty, fishy (even though I said 'no fish sauce'.) Soggy salad. I threw it away, and if you knew my obsession with Thai food that would mean a lot! Ick. Please save your money and buy a Thai cookbook to make your own - or find someplace else. (Unfortunately there's no competition in Santa fe, which I suppose is how they stay in business.)
First rate Thai cuisine. The real deal. Try “medium plus” if you’re not a weenie.
Food was ok but I have had better Thai food. Would not recommend the fried rice (was very moist due to the sauce that it was covered in...which seems weird for fried rice and sweet) or Pad Thai (not bad but bland).
Two orders of pad Thai 1 chicken and 1 beef with a drink for $38!!! You would’ve thought the meal will be delicious, No! 4 small pieces of chicken, scrapped up egg. It was horrible, I’ll never eat there again.
Keep trying to call and get a busy signal...then I go in and the lady says call. I try to tell her the phone isn't working and she ignores me and walks to the back. This place needs some better organization I guess I'll be going elsewhere from now on since I cannot even place an order.
I come here to get my Thai food fix. This is the first authentic Thai restaurant in Santa Fe since as long as I can remember. The staff is very kind, helpful, and prompt! The chef’s special noodles are amazing as well as the pad Thai and Tom Kha. Highly recommend!
The absolute BEST green curry. We go nearly every week just for that. We tried a few other dishes, but they weren't as awesome as the green curry.
The old lady up front should be fired immediately!! Rude and doesn’t know the menu at all!! We ask to speak to the manager and she said no!! Worst service and food ever!!! Avoid at all cost!!
I see a number of negative reviews of my favorite Thai restaurant. I have lived and eaten Thai food all over the US. The food at Thai Cafe tops them all. It is a small locally-owned place tucked in a shopping center full of restaurants, so it can be easy to miss. My favorite dishes are Panag Chicken Curry, Pad Thai, Fresh Veggie Rolls and Singapore Chicken. I have enjoyed my interactions with the owner and employees, so don't hesitate to chat and ask about their favorite dishes. Take-out and eat-in are equally wonderful. I highly encourage you to try it!
The Taravadee noodles were delicious.
Friendly but food was extremely bland.
Amazing!! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and it was very fast!!
Amazing authentic food and even better service!
My girlfriend and I found this place while we were in Santa fe for a weekend getaway. Thai food is her all time favorite.
When we called to place a to-go order they were just about to close but were more than happy to take our large order. The lady on the phone spoke to us like a friend. They had a ton of good options! We had to do some shopping before we finally got to our hotel to dig into our dinner. There was quite a bit of anticipation as we hadn't been here before and my gf hasn't been able to find anything close to what she had on her visits to Thailand. Let me tell you it did not disappoint! There was so much flavor in every dish. We had Tom yum, green curry, Pad mee, and Pad ga prow gai sup.
The green curry was my favorite. The food here definitely lives up to the spice that thai food should have, so the other dishes were a bit hot for me. Tom Yum was my gfs fav, but she loved everything we got.
I reviews quite often and was shocked when I saw what so many others had to say about this place. I know that every place has bad days but I couldn't believe they had eaten from the same restaurant that gave us such an authentic Thai experience and had such negative things to say. It is certainly worth a visit!
Needed some great soup with a good broth and this was perfect. Potstickers were great too! Lovely fun service too!
I’ve never left a negative review before.... unfortunately I really felt I needed to because my coworkers and I were very disappointed in the food and service.
Very good food, customer service, short wait time and good server who explained the dishes well.
This is by far the WORST THAI RESTAURANT on the Planet !!!! The food was old, under cooked, the lettuce was days old as was the tomatoes ( Brown) in color,I should have listened to my wife and walked out, but no, Mr let’s give them a chance I did and boy was I wrong. As I waited for my Chicken Fried Rice which took about 20 minutes still with a positive outlook. When it arrived it was soupy dark brown with no vegetables whatsoever !!! It was the worst 50 dollars ever spent on lunch!!! So Please any positive reviews on this place we probably written by the owner!!! Bottom line this place get NEGATIVE STARS!!! Just saying the truth from my personal experience.
Manager was extremely rude and didn’t even ask if I was ok or consider giving a refund when I told her about the stick I found I’m my food. I pulled it out of my gums but I can feel some still stuck in my skin. Lets just say never going back there again.
It said at their door open until 9pm, we went there at 7:25 pm and they were closed. We tried to get the people inside to explain what was happening, and they completely dismissed us just with their hands that they were closed. Didn’t even bother to unlock the door and talk to us.
That was our first time to try them out and will definitely not go back nor recommend to anyone!
Not one to bash a place, but I gotta say, Thai Cafe needs to go back to the drawing board on how to prepare Thai food. I ordered the coconut soup which in my opinion is such a Thai staple and it was pretty lame- weak and watery taste and odd flavors for some reason. The prices are high vs the quality of food for sure. And re the service, improvement is also needed. Great location tho, but not taking advantage of it.
Not only is this the worst Thai food I have ever had, this is the worst food I have ever had PERIOD. Took one bite of my food and called it quits, my wife tried to stomach her curry and gave up as well. We left and got fast food instead. It was so awful it ruined Thai food for me since.
THE PAI THAI IS AMAZING!
It was a pretty horrible restaurant. There were barely any seats and it was very cramped. The food took about a half hour to get and I am ok waiting for food that is good but this was just bad . We ordered drunken noodles and a green Chile fried rice and it was plain bad . First of all the rice wasn’t the rice you use for Thai food and the rice and the noodles were sunken into this liquidy oil which made it like an oily soup . The service was the worst as the waiter had attitude when it came to the bill as he asked us to pay $10 tip and we said no. I would highly recommend not going to this restaurant
We ordered appetizers to go, and we were not at all disappointed. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the service was exceptional.
Love this place!
Food is good service is always weird
If I could give it zero stars, I would. While my dish was ok, my husband's was far from it; flavorless, with very little chicken and with missing ingredients. When confronted, the manager was very rude about it and the owner refused to have it re-maded or change it for another plate. As my husband left, I was getting ready to leave too and the "manager" started badmouthing my husband, I remained silent so to not steer the pot, but the woman kept on despite me not saying anything and taking out my card to pay. I got really irritated and confronted the woman explaining that she already refused to make the plate again and that there was no reason to keep talking about it; her job was to take my card, smile and get done with the situation; instead she went on a rampage against him. Please, save yourself a bad experience and avoid this place at all cost.
