Portions are really small for the price.

Diner Review №2

Can't believe I don't have a review of this place. Best Tom kha soup in NJ (trust me I've tried a LOT of Thai restaurants both in the Ewing/Trenton area and up by the city) everything else is also good here, I've tried just about everything at this point, highly recommend their curries and the pineapple fried rice. Also they don't play around if you order Thai spicy it will be legitimately hot (as it should be) 10/10 would recommend

Diner Review №4

This is a great Thai restaurant. Dishes are cooked to perfection. The kitchen is very willing to cook Thai dishes off the menu. Service is friendly. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.

Diner Review №5

Nice little thai restaurant, efficient service but not very friendly, the food is ok but nothing extraordinary.

Diner Review №6

We had the crying tiger & appetizer sampler (pru thai combo)... YUM!!!! 😋 SO good.

Diner Review №8

The first time we dined here the restaurant was not very crowded. The Tom Kha was excellent and full of tofu and vegetables. My grilled half chicken and my husband's pad thai were delicious. The 2nd time the restaurant was very crowded and the waitresses could barely keep up with the orders but did a great job. This time the food was not as good. The Tom kha was more broth than tofu and vegetables and the pad thai was greasy and heavy with only a few shrimp. I only ate half because it was just too greasy. I am not sure if it was because it was so busy and orders were going out quickly or if there was someone else doing the cooking but the food was a disappointment. We will try again and hopefully it will be like our first experience.

Diner Review №9

Amazing tasty food. Actually portion is too large for sure. Service is good. parking is little meeeh. ambience is cool. heads up it is BYOD. Will definitely visit again to try other menu.

Diner Review №10

Really good! Got the mock duck and pad cashew nut with tofu. Can't wait ti try more dishes next time. Really lovely ambience.

Diner Review №11

Excelent Thai food. We come here at least 2 to 3 times a month for lunch ot dinner with my wife. All dishes are well done with amazing flavors!

Diner Review №12

My sister and I had lunch with friends today at Pru Thai. Each of us enjoyed our meals. I had shrimp in a ginger sauce, which was delicious The shrimp were fresh and ample. The service was excellent too.

Diner Review №13

The Duck and rice were perfect. Honestly the best Duck i have ever had in the USA. Large portion, you will be full and i eat allot of protein.

Diner Review №14

We had a delicious dinner at the Lambertville location last night. So many delectable entrees to choose from! We chose the Golden Calamari (GF!) app along with Roasted Duck Curry and Massamun Curry for dinner. The service was fantastic, as was the ambience. We can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!

Diner Review №15

Relaxing atmosphere and delicious food!

Diner Review №16

Great little place to Thai food. No wait for lunch. Food was great.

Diner Review №17

Food is great, owner is so nice and they have the BEST thai iced tea!! I work right next door in jersey meds and they always come and deliver, they are the best!!!

Diner Review №18

Amazing food, the Crying Tiger was perfection, as was the Duck Salad. Can't wait to go back and try more.. didn't even hit my regular go to Thai choices the menu was just too enticing

Diner Review №19

We have been to Pru Thai many times over many years! GREAT SERVICE & TERRIFIC FOOD! Love Duck dishes & Chicken Basil. Everything we have tried we have LOVED! Highly Recommended.

Diner Review №20

Delicious food, good quantity and great service. What else does one need? Definitely visiting them again very soon.

2024 update: lunch quantity has been severely reduced to the extent where I had to order extra rice to fill my stomach. Plus prices have increased.. no longer a great option.

Diner Review №31

Drove all the way out on Saturday night they told me it was closed at 8 when the website says 9:30. Not happy Thai tonight!

Diner Review №32

Diner Review №33

Service is what brought this down to a 3-Star rating. Overall the food was pretty good and flavorful. Spicy like we like it with several unique dishes not seen elsewhere at other Thai restaurants.

I DON’T appreciate being charged a Tip for not so great service and for only being a party of “2”. In fact, their menu states that service charge is automatic in parties of 5 or more but there was only the 2 of us. Had to ask several times for water and to take our order. There was no other table occupied (see pictures)

Diner Review №34

Don’t expect much if you’re a foodie. It actually was gross-ish and boring. Tenderloin inedible. Looks like you can get it from the freezer section in a supermarket…I found this food to be flavorless other than the curry sauces, it was pretty bland anywhere else. I wouldn’t return, but the service was friendly.

Diner Review №35

Went with my parents at 5pm at Sunday, a perfect time as we could enjoy the amazing food without too much chatter from other customers. Best calamari appetizer I've had in a while, and I think the veggie cake appetizer special should be added to the regular menu. Make sure you have mastered spice level 1 before moving up to level 2. My deep appreciation for front and back of house staff as well!

Diner Review №36

Good service but does not taste like thai food

Diner Review №37

Solid food with kind service.

Diner Review №38

The food is delicious--I can't recommend the Crying Tiger enough--and the service is always quick. A regular lunch stop.

Diner Review №39

Absolutely horrible. Just picked up crying tiger. For start, I was given broken containers with a big hole on one side of the container. So when the car turned and the bag shifted, the whole sauce leaked out! Not only is my dish ruined, but the car dirty! Absolutely not acceptable!!!
Also the beef tenderloin was rubbery and practically inedible! Don’t go there, spend your money elsewhere.

Diner Review №40

Good food. Okay service.

Diner Review №41

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

Great food. Green curry and basil fried rice were awesome. We ended up ordering more food as they were very tasty. Great experience overall.

Diner Review №44

They don’t seat ppl after 8 pm. Kinda stupid

Diner Review №45

Diner Review №46

Liked the food, we tried chilli noodles, fried dumplings and drunken man noodles. Do recommend if you are a local here.
Loved the service and ambiance.

Diner Review №47

Following the recommendation of a friend, 3 of us visited Pru Thai for lunch. Easy access into a parking lot off major route 31. It’s very dark inside. We were quickly and comfortably seated. The server was attentive without intrusion. We each ordered a lunch special. I had Pad Garlic which was very tasty with plump shrimp. Also ordered at the table was Pad Ginger with Chicken and Pad Curry. Each dish came with a large round of white rice. Soup or salad was included. My companions were as satisfied as I was. A nice assortment of teas were available. The total bill was $50 + 20% tip so approximately $20. per person. Happy to have visited and likely to return.

Diner Review №48

Portions are small compared to other Thai spots. Pad Thai barely had any noodles and maybe two shrimp. Wouldn't go back.

Diner Review №49

Wow definitely one of the best pad thais I've ever had. Very pleased 👌

Diner Review №50

The green curry was very authentic tasting and delicious. There was plenty of heat from the curry but it wasn't overpowering.

Diner Review №51

This place makes the best duck ever. The black noodles are fantastic, and I highly recommend the chili noodles.

Diner Review №52

Food and portions are just great 👍

Diner Review №53

The food is good and very affordable but it’s takes FOREVER for any service, there’s a single lady running the show for the whole restaurant. She take orders, serves and clear table. We went for lunch on weekday were seated by 12.15 and got out at 2 because it take long to get food, water or anything.

Diner Review №54

Diner Review №55

I am in love with this place. Have ended up ordering food from here every week. The food is unbelievably authentic Thai food. Have tried many items on the menu and every one has been an absolute hit. You just cannot go wrong with their food. If you like your food spicy, you can specify the spice level and that deliver on the right level of heat

Diner Review №56

Good vegan options

Diner Review №57

Ordered a take out. We had shrimp tom yum soup, Thai green veg curry with jasmine rice, pad Thai cashew with rice and spring veg rolls. The food was just so amazing, perfect spice levels that works with our palette. We especially loved the pad Thai cashew it was supremely delicious. Looks like we will be a frequent visitor to this place.

Diner Review №58

Calm and flavorful.

Diner Review №59

May very well have been one of the worst meals I've had in years. I love all Thai food, but Pru Thai seems to go out of its way to deliver bland, overcooked food. My lunch (Pru Thai lunch basket) was totally inedible. Also no salad dressing with side salads. Incredibly disappointed. *Edited to 5 stars on 5/9/2023, did the lunch today per a co-worker's suggestion. Food was great(pork pad thai), lunch prices as fantastic, happy to see that there has been marked improvement.

Diner Review №60

We did take out from Pru Thai as we wanted to try out this place from quite some time. Google also has great reviews. The order was ready in less than 15 mins which is always a plus. We got the crying Tiger - Spicy beef in sauce , chicken red curry and drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp. Little bit about the dishes :
Crying Tiger : it had a very spicy sauce on the side but even without touching the sauce the beef was super tasty , juicy and succulent. My kids loved it very much and honestly that was the only dish that got over in one shot. Highly recommended!
Chicken red curry : we ordered spicy Level 2 . It was still super spicy but it was tasty. However the quantity was less for dinner portion compared to other Thai restaurants in this area.
Drunken Noodles aka pad kee mao : we ordered it spicy Level 3 with chicken and shrimp. They had lots of protein which is great! I really liked it but I think I had better in other Thai places where also I have ordered it highest level spicy.

Diner Review №61

Great for a quick Thai bite. Place is a little lacking in atmosphere due to the dark walls and dark tables and lack of sound proofing. But the music is nice and there is always a flower on the tables. I feel like the portions are just right and service is quick.

Diner Review №62

Very nice food. Portion sized were good. Warm people running the restaurant. Everyone with me liked the food very much.

Diner Review №63

Delicious Thai food

Diner Review №64

The best restaurant in the area for value and consistency.

Diner Review №65

Diner Review №66

This place is fantastic. We try different things every time we come. We’ve never had a bad meal.

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

Diner Review №69

It’s decent food but the spice levels are nowhere near authentic and I find the curries too sweet.

Diner Review №70

One of my favorite restaurants, byob with really great food and menu, very fresh vegetables and reasonable prices.

Diner Review №71

Went for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was fast, the waitress was professional and kind, and the food was good. Would recommend to others to eat here

Diner Review №72

Food was good but very little for a big price I got a lunch portion for $12 and it was like appetizer size and mostly all white rice . It tasted good everything except the Tom yum soup it was very fishy tasting. I will return for the spring rolls they were good but again only three rolls (not long either) for 7.00.

Diner Review №73

So so delicious! The staff was amazing and kind and the place is cozy with a pretty interior. My boyfriend and I highly recommend!

Diner Review №74

I love this place. Their food is so authentic and delicious. I love their Tom Kha soup with veggies and my boyfriend and I LOVE their Chili Noodles. If you haven’t checked this place out you’re missing out! Hope they stay open forever. 💜

Diner Review №75

For starters I love Thai food and have had it in 100+ restaurants across the globea and 12 states In US. Rudest staff I have seen in a restaurant industry.
I can handle very high level of spice usualy 9 or 10 at scale or 10. In a new restaurant I start in middle.

Here we ordered level 2 of 3.
Food spice was off the roof. My entire family was in tears. With all restaurant closing we asked for plain rice to mix and even out. No respite at all. So we decided to pay out and find food outside.
Obviously if food is so horrible I can't be expected to tip. This staff comes out abusing and screaming that why I didn't tip. I told her food was not eatable, kids were crying even though there food was spice level 1. She kept of speaking bad words.

Worst service and attitude you can expect. I will die hungry than eating at this place again. I did read some similar reviews once back home and realized this a normal here. Its very hard to trust 4 and 5 start ratings these days not sure how many are real vs fake. I drive 15 miles just beacuse I wanted to have good thai food. All to come out an have a Burger from a fast-food as all rest was closed by then. A wonderful evening, horrible spoiled..

I wish there was an option of negative stars.

Horrible Horrible Horrible

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

Tasty food! We had the Black Noodles and Chicken Rama. The Noodles were the tastiest of the two dishes, but both were awesome. Very nice service. We will be back. BYOB.

Diner Review №78

Rude staff. Food had more vegetables than noodles and rice. Went there because of google review. Do not make the mistake we made. Had to pay for gratuity for their rude service.

Diner Review №79

Went for lunch with my colleagues. Lunch portion was really less. Would not be going in there!!

Diner Review №80

Ridiculously small lunch portions! Very disappointed and will not go there anymore!

Diner Review №81

BAD. Not genuine Thai. Ordered Drunken noodles and Pad Basil (both w/Shrimp).
Both tasted the same (i.e same sauce), and quantity was miniscule (for a reg lunch portion)
The lady at front desk / server needs to improver her attitude - not a single smile.
Will not go there again!

Diner Review №82

Excellent food! Lee is such a great cook! I would definitely recommend the chicken pad thai, always sure to please!

Diner Review №83

Pru Thai is consistently our favorite BYO restaurant. The Duck Tamarind is out of this world delicious! The service is very friendly and attentive. We leaned on this place heavily during pandemic times. We enjoy eating in, it’s best right out of the kitchen.

Thanks for the delicious dinners!

Diner Review №84

Call before your visit!!!
We went for dinner and check before their schedule on google which indicates they are open until 9:30, we arrived at 8:30 but they told us they can't serve us because they had 2 orders to go...
We had to find another place for a late dinner after this experience. We are not certainly coming back

Diner Review №85

AMAZING food!

Diner Review №86

Diner Review №87

Been many times now and very good. Good and friendly aervice..... First time there and will return!

Diner Review №88

Decor/ambience is good but food is just ok and pricey for the quantity. Veg Tom kha was sour and no one liked it. Gratuity 18% was auto added for party of 3. Did not feel justified for the amount spent.

Diner Review №89

My favorite pad Thai in the area. I got a catering order for my party and the pricing was very fair. I came again for lunch, the portions are reasonable sized, they come with a soup or salad. The atmosphere is very relaxed and modern, easily suiting a casual catch up or a business meeting. Just be careful of the low lamps, I watched my table neighbor bonk his head on it when he left. Seems like it happens often.

Diner Review №90

Diner Review №91

Tasty Thai food! What we liked—Great food -nice design- good service & very clean. No lunch menu on a Saturday- so was a little expensive for us. We had the pad Thai & the Chili noodles - both were well flavored with a good amount of chicken. Our server was helpful with explaining the different dishes & attentive. We would definitely return. Thank you!

Diner Review №92

One of my favorite go to places!

Diner Review №93

Very tasty food reasonable price very pleasant day we took out food

Diner Review №94

Good food with classy presentation. Nice ambiance.

Diner Review №95

Really good massaman curry! A little spicy and the takeout spoons aren't great but delicious and you get a lot of food for your money.

Diner Review №96

Diner Review №97

thank you! 🙂 your vegan peanut sauce is amazing!!! 💛

Diner Review №98

Went there for dinner at 6:30. The place had many empty tables. The lady kicked me out of my booth saying it is reserved and you can not hv a booth if you are alone. This is when two other people were by themselves on other booths. When i insisted on a booth, she started kicking out another girl so that i can hv her booth. I then left to avoid any other customer getting harassed. Place like this has no ethics and values. Shld be boycotted to teach a lesson that respecting a customer is not optional.

Diner Review №99

This is the best Thai restaurant you can find in the area (Princeton/Pennington/Lawrenceville). Unfortunately none of the Thai restaurants in the area are that great. At Pru, you can expect a decent Thai. A good selection of food items on the menu, food is tasty, service is good, and the atmosphere not bad.

Diner Review №100

Average spot for Thai food. Nothing to write home about.

Diner Review №101

Diner Review №102

MEAN ladies - the servers. Just MEAN. I would've ordered more stuff but I felt uncomfortable. The food was good, but I don't need to be treated poorly.

Diner Review №103

Diner Review №104

Friendly and quick service. Shrimp in the curry was clearly not very fresh. OK flavors nothing stands out.

Diner Review №105

Ordered take away and everything was just OK. Not overly authentic or flavorful. Portions were fine and ingredients seemed fresh. Wish it was better as there is not much good Thai food nearby but for me I'd rather drive a little further for a better overall experience.

Diner Review №106

I usually do not write such horrible reviews, but this one needs to be heard. I came with my family on a second visit this restaurant (first time was with my mom which was her second time going to it). The manager who presumed to be the owner gave us the looks and stares to my brother over asking to have a piece of lemon with his water. After that he questioned if it was customery to ask in an Asian restaurant for lemon or it was frowned upon. The food was medicore to okay, nothing to write home about. At the end of the dinner. My dad was suprise that an 18% tip was included in the final bill and questioned in a polite the owner if this was allowed or was at discretion of the restaurant to add discreet charge.

All of the sudden this manager remembered that my mom forgot give her a tip, she was very upset about it, very condescending.

You do not embrasse anyone of my family over $4 tip and now you lost a customer for life over a tip. Good way to conduct business!!!

Diner Review №107

Wanting to try something new, I went here with the wife after reading the reviews. The ambiance was nice, and the table service was spot on. Many said to try the Drunken Man noodles, so I did. It was underwhelming to say the least. Bland and flat is how I would describe it. The sample appetizer platter was pretty good but nothing stood out as a must have. The wife loved her coconut soup, so there’s that. Like said before, the service was spot on, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 3. The good service saved them, and I’ll probably go back but order different things next time.

Diner Review №108

I loved the peanut sauce with the tofu feast!

Diner Review №109

Diner Review №110

Delicious Thai food! I highly recommend the Drunken Man Noodles.

Diner Review №111

I love spicy but sometimes their level 1 is on FIRE... it’s inconsistent, I guess it depends on who’s In the kitchen...so better just to ask for spicy sauce on the side and mix it in yourself... Didn’t even eat it this time, just threw it out. The noodles here are super good though.

Diner Review №112

I was in Pennington today. Googled take out near me and viola an amazing restaurant popped up. This Thai food is amazing. Great flavors. Fast service. Nice people and I didn’t have to cook. I know where we’re getting take out when I go back to Pennington. My family loved it all! We tried the Crying Tiger from a Yelp recommendation plus we tried the Kong ooh soon sen and the Pad Thai. All delish. We highly recommend.

Diner Review №113

Pru Thai is one of those places that somehow gets better every visit even though it started out great! Food and service is always awesome!

Diner Review №114

I would rate this restaurant as total NO-GO. First off all you have to wait for atleast 10min before anyone receives you and the staff is very rude. Poor service + rude staff 👎👎

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №116

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

Probably some of the best Thai food I’ve had in jersey! I usually get the most spicy level for Drunken noodles and these are DEFINITELY worth it

Diner Review №119

Pricey but pretty tasty.

Diner Review №120

Overpriced and mean staff.

Diner Review №121

Food was quick and service was great! I’m not sure if it was an off day since it was my first time going, but I didn’t think the quality was so good.

We ordered sticky rice, tom kha, drunken noddles, and red curry. The sticky rice was a very small portion and an unusual texture, the soup was very salt and bland, the noodles were also very bland and pale, and the curry was very watery.

I’ll definitely give it another shot, but I have to say it wasn’t the best thai food i’ve tried :(

Diner Review №122

MEAN 2 LADIES ON STAFF. I had dined here pre-covid. IN all honesty I enjoyed the food, my family did. But the 2 women were downright mean. I don't expect to be at Ruth's Chris here. I get it. But even my 7 year old kid said "why is the lady mean to you Daddy". Oh well - there's a lovely Thai place 20 minutes further from me - I'll keep going to that one.

Diner Review №123

Awesome!! A year later, still awesome. Food is 1st class as well as everyone who works there. Definitely nothing even close for miles around. One of the benefits of working from home. Thanks for remaining open during these difficult times!!

Diner Review №124

Had some takeout recently.
First time trying this place.
The food was quite tasty. I particularly liked the peanut sauce, as it had a nice "zing" without being Hot.
Fun, "something different" dinner!

Diner Review №137

Good food one of the best is the coconut soups I've had

Diner Review №138

Reasonably priced, good service, delicious food.

Diner Review №139

Might be the worst Thai food I’ve ever got. We ordered drunken noodles, pad Thai, and tom kha and none of them were edible. It was unfortunate that we did takeout because we threw it all out. The drunken noodles were burnt and disgusting, the pad Thai tasted off and not like pad Thai at all. And the soup was super bland and without coconut. Would stay away, huge waste of money and all ended up in the trash

Diner Review №140

Really cute and cozy decor and atmosphere, good food (strong flavors and heavy seasoning if you're okay with it)

Diner Review №141

Fantastic, authentic cuisine. They're not afraid to go spicy, too. Highly recommended.

Diner Review №142

Took my elderly parents and we did a plate share and the waitstaff really took care of us!

Diner Review №143

Good portions on good budget. Food is good

Diner Review №144

Great food , quick service

Diner Review №145

It was my first time visiting the place. What I noticed right away is that the place was a bit dirty. The cutlery was not washed properly.
The food was above average but not the best.

Diner Review №150

Good service and very good food. I highly recommend the crying tiger.

Diner Review №151

Loved the noodles and loved the curry puffs appetizers but the chicken soup tasted like water. I definitely would come back to try other dishes. Very traditional flavors.

Diner Review №152

Cool

Diner Review №153

Waitress not polite, they carry simply call it beef soup than asking rudely if beef is ok

Diner Review №154

Delicious food , great service

Diner Review №155

Diner Review №156

Both me and my husband had the green curry and it was pretty good. Not as sweet or creamy as I have had it before but good. Seafood in it was good quality and plentiful! However watch the spice level! They have 3 levels in the curry but when I asked for a 2 the waitress talked me out of it. Glad she did! Just the 1 was smoking! I don't think I would have been able to eat it at a 2!

Diner Review №157

Decent food, but as seems to be a common theme with most Thai places around here, their highest spice level barely registers. Slightly above mild at BEST.

Diner Review №158

Excellent. You must try the sticky rice for dessert!

Diner Review №159

Diner Review №165

Diner Review №166

The food was delicious. The server recommended the soup (which came as a choice with salad with our lunch special). It was flavorful and light. My dining companions and I each had a different dish featuring chicken, and it didn't take long for any of us to clean our plates. The restaurant filled up quickly. A pleasant wait staff; I definitely look forward to sharing a meal there again.

Diner Review №167

Diner Review №194

Been dying to go here, I usually go to PLOY SIAM in robbinsville. I decided to try this place and take my boyfriend with me tonight and boy were we upset.. We ordered the Calamari and had to take all the breadding off because it was almost raw and too much batter. Next I got the Pra Rad Pik and that was the only decent thing there. My boyfriend ordered Yellow Curry special with seafood, it wasn’t prepared right, it was prepared like a soup and they barely put any seafood in it. We decided to get a dessert to go since we were so disappointed. We get home and the portion was sooo small for what we payed for! The whole bill was over priced and the food was not worth it at ALL. We looked in the back and the food wasn’t prepared by authentic chefs.. We will not be coming back and we will be taking our business to PLOY SIAM.

The best food's!!! I love it. And very nice place

Diner Review №199

I went to this place few times and food quality has tapered down... Over-rated for the prices they charge. Entree dishes are just okay these days. Worse off - they insist that ONLY 2 customers can have the tea-pot. No sharing allowed. And this was with a big group of 5 of us. Clearly I’m disappointed with them.

Diner Review №200

All I've had here is the curry because it's so good that I can't branch out. Highly recommend.
