I actually no longer have to drive out to the city for good real Thai food because this place nailed it. The Khao soi, pad se ew and green curry’s are incredible and the appetizers too! Even the burgers LOL. We catered them for our party as well and our guests were raving about it! Also the people working there are so kind~ Thank you Tora!!

I've decided to move away from eating the standard Chinese takeout and instead go with Thai-styled restaurants. I'm so happy I found this place. Very warm and friendly owners, and even the cooks in the back make an effort to engage with you. The food was great and has me wanting to go very often so I can try more things on the menu. The prices are a bit higher than other Thai restaurants but I'm OK with paying for quality ingredients. My only criticism is that the Thai Street Bite Size Box should not be the same price as the Beer Box because of the portions/variety.
Edited: Second visit, tried a different menu item. Just a great as the first. Also, the owner let me know that there are additional seasonal menu items on the website that aren't on the paper menu. Great to know!

Thai Cookery is one of the best tasting Thai restaurants in Bergen County. The restaurant has a wide selection of food to choose from.  This time around we decided to keep it simple, so we decided to go with the Green Curry and Drunken Noodle.  Both our dishes were delicious and full of flavor.  We will definitely come back and look forward to trying some of the Chef’s Specials.

Delicious food, great service.. try the drunken noodle, chicken potstickers, tom yum soup, and peanut chicken. The chicken dumpling had a totally handmade and homemade feel. I loved the thai iced tea too

Wow, the food is so delicious! Was so worth the hour & half I drove. I enjoyed the food so much that I had my family look at the menu to bring them each their desired dish. My husband couldn't decide between the duck and soft shell crab dish, so I got him both. Will be going back with my husband for him to try the other great dishes Thai Cookery offers.

1. the food is great. i myself love the drunken noodles and thai iced tea
2. the atmosphere is nice!

My husband and I love Thai food and have tried many different places. This spot is not only delicious but the staff is so friendly. They have one the the best pad thai Ive ever had. The sauce is so good. We tried the thai whiskey chicken wings and they were delicious- i don’t normally like chicken wings. The sticky rice mango was a good way to finish the meal. I had left my purse behind accidentally and they put it aside for me. Such honest people. Im looking forward to returning and trying something different. They have a small dine in area but its very clean and cozy. There was a tv… my husband enjoyed his wings and some football.

Delicious! I've ordered from here several times over the last 2 months and everything I've tried has been really, really good. Their ramen dishes are fabulous as well as their traditional Thai curry and noodle dishes.

This restaurant came highly recommended in my neighborhood so I was excited to try it. We ordered the following:

-Massaman Curry (exceptional)
-Pad Thai (good, but nothing to write home about)
-Drunken Noodles (just ok)
-Glazed Salmon Bowl (tasted as you would expect, but the portion size for $20 was extremely disappointing; two very small medallions of salmon with mostly rice and broccoli. Had this been $14, there would be no gripe, but $20 is a rip)
-My last gripe is that for spending just under $80 on take-out, I expected a little more white rice. We were given one small container of it, but I understand that it was probably only paired with the curry; just wish it would have been the larger size of rice.

The staff was friendly when I picked up, and the establishment was very clean.

Overall, I probably wouldn't make the 10 minute drive again and stick to my local Thai restaurant due to the portion and price ratios.

I have had my fair share of Thai food in Bergen County but I did not know the answer to AMAZING home cooked Thai was in Passaic county in Hawthorne. This small but homey place had the best pad Thai I have had. The noodles were smooth with great texture and the chili oil was a great addition with some spice. 100/10 recommend as this is my new Thai spot to order from!

We live right down the street from Thai cookery. We noticed it during Covid and kept saying we have to try it when they open. So glad we did! Super authentic amazing food! Duck is always good. We more recently tried their ramen and wow!!!!! Try the Kho Soi Ramen Pork Belly, it’s Spicy but you can ask for a milder version. It’s sooooooo delicious! Green curry!!!!!! So good!!! Drunken noodles are yummy. Their chicken pot stickers are so tasty. Really everything there is so so good I like to now try new dishes instead of being boring and always getting the same dish. The people that work there are ALWAYS nice and accommodating. Love this place!!! Highly recommended.

• beer box - the pork belly sliders stood out the most as it was soft and the sauce was a1. ranked in terms of flavor: shrimp in a blanket, bangkok wings, spicy dirty mini beef sliders, and the spring rolls.
• shrimp pad see ew - get it. the kale didn’t taste bitter (my friend who doesn’t like kale found it yummy), the broccoli was tender, and the shrimps were so juicy. one of the best pad see ews i’ve ever tried!
• thai tea - a bit too sweet for my taste but it’s hard to mess up thai tea so i still enjoyed it.

we arrived at 3:00. the kitchen closes at 3:30 but you can order before that time and stay as long as you want at the table. the seating is limited but i’d describe the space as cozy. staff is friendly and accommodating. overall, a cute spot to appreciate delicious thai food.

The food was amazingly fresh, and flavorful. I live a little distance away but the food is so great here, it's worth the travel. Today will be the 5th time frequenting the restaurant within a 3 month period.

Food is just ok. Nothing special, and definitely doesn't live up to the price.

We strolled in an hour before closing and took their biggest table. The food was authentic! And delicious! Highly recommend their specials which include items like seafood, short rib and duck. Staple menu items like pad Thai and drunken noodles are fabulous, you really can't go wrong here. They also customize spice levels for you.

On top of the delicious food the staff went above and beyond to welcome us. They were so kind especially with my toddler, even when she made a terrible mess (we're so sorry!). We will definitely be back!

FYI: seating is limited, we got lucky with our big party. Additional parking is available in the rear lot.

Phenomenal. The Staff was so warm and welcoming. We brought our 8 month old and the staff kindly brought out sliced mangos for her to eat while we feasted. The chicken wings were to die for. Perfectly crunchy with a vibrant flavorful experience for the tastebuds. The drunken noodles and pad Thai were the best we’ve ever had. Fresh, tasty, and felt nostalgic. We enjoyed every bite and will be back soon to eventually try everything on the menu!

Probably the best pad kee mao in the area! Really good papaya salad too. pretty authentic place. I wouldn’t recommend for date night eat in or with friends. It’s more of a takeout place but the staff was very nice and let me use the staff restroom in the back.

I had no expectations for anything special. We were in the area and wanted Thai food. We were delighted. This is a simple restaurant but the food was very, very good. The flavors were strong and rich. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Recommend.

This is our weekend treat! The sticky rice and mango is amazing! Clean, tasty and wonderful service best Thai for miles!

Staff is friendly, location is clean, food is excellent.

The food was seriously so delicious. We devoured everything we ordered. Everything was super fresh as I noted how good I felt after eating, arguably too much. Even the green curry which was extremely spicy, I kept eating the next day Because the flavor was so good.

Last night I ordered beef short rib Ramen with appetizer of shrimp spring rolls they were absolutely amazing. But what I noticed even better the customer service. I paid attention to the chef that was monitoring even the front area like me coming to pick up food and customers dining in. Very polite and respectful and absolutely clean and tasty food. And spotless beautiful kitchen I will definitely be going there weekly

Wow, best Thai around. From the first moment, we were treated like family. The food was over the top delicious and super fresh. We will be regulars for sure!

Recently discovered this absolutely phenomenal Thai restaurant! I absolutely LOVE Thai food and have struggled to find good Thai in this area. Now I have my go-to spot! Have now ordered from here 5ish times and each time does not disappoint. Food is terrific and the service top notch - the people who run this place are super nice and on point with service.

Had an honor of visiting the Thai Cookery on Saturday, Driving Over An Hour to go try this place out. And let me tell you, it was worth the TRIP! From the ambience, the staff, the FOOD, everything was SPECTECULAR! Full of flavor, so delicious, presentation was out of this world. Highly recommend the Massaman curry, Bangkok wings, Shrimp roll (MY FAVS). Best Thai Food Ever! Will defiantly go back sooner than later!

Tried Thai Cookery on a Saturday night (our usual Thai spot is in Hackensack and we didn’t want to drive). Knew the prices were higher but figured it was close and the reviews were positive.

Did. Not. Disappoint. Drunken noodles w/chicken and basil fried rice w/shrimp. Both were delicious! Great spice level, great sauce with the drunken noodles and veggies were perfect and plentiful! Basil fried rice on point- 6 big shrimp and great flavor.

Might not be our every week spot but it will be in our rotation! Very friendly staff and right in town is great for Hawthorne!!

Absolutely every single thing we ordered was delicious. I got Massaman curry and it blew my mind. My best friend got a pork belly bowl that he's still fantasizing about and he's a big foodie. Everyone's noodle dishes were incredibly tasty (trust me I stole from everyone). Dessert was also very good. And we had gotten it to-go. I can only imagine how fantastic it would be right out of the kitchen. I seriously can't recommend them enough, I might try to get more tomorrow.

This was my first time trying this place and boy did it not disappoint! The food was so authentic and flavorful. I enjoyed every single dish. The spicy beef sliders are a must!

I love everything about this place. I ordered the duck. It was nicely cooked and the sauce was flavorful. As far as the price, we have to remember that this place opened right when inflation started to skyrocket. Especially import ingredients are not cheap. This new little restaurant in Hawthorne is fantastic! All of the staff we interacted with were so friendly, and they even took the time to explain what the dishes are. Service was fast, portions were generous for the price and best of all, the food was delicious! Hopefully they expand to have a dine-in section one day.

Food was excellent, portions were generous ( commiserate with the price) and the service was prompt as well as accurate.
Additionally, ownership was very accommodating and informed with regard to gluten allergies, which puts minds at ease, and isn't always the case.

I been waiting for this place to open and decided to stop by today.I ordered some Tom Kha Gai soup
and it was delicious and satisfying.I also ordered Bangkok wings and they also were delicious.

Like most people in town, we were waiting for them to open. Finally got our chance to grab something to eat.
I was satisfied with the food, however the prices are too high compared to a place in GR that offers similar plates for $6+ less. The sampler boxes were cool but at $35 they were way too pricey for me to consider again.
I would suggest they take a look at the surrounding restaurants and align the prices so they can stick around. It would be a shame for us to lose a cool place.

I’m a huge fan of Thai food and was excited when I heard a new restaurant is opening in Hawthorne. Seems like the restaurant is run by very kind and caring people. The food was okay. Green curry and tom kha gai soup lacked flavor. Noodles, rice, and dumplings were great. The reason it’s 3 stars is because it is very expensive. I paid $75 for 3 dishes and dumplings. Way too expensive. The food will definitely get better given they just opened, but they will definitely need to lower the prices a little. $17.50 for fried rice is ridiculous. For now, the food is 3 stars, but will definitely try again in the future to see if it has improved.
