Mom and pop home made Thai food
We had an amazing dining experience at this wonderful Thai restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and truly authentic, bringing the rich flavors of Thailand right to the table. Every dish we had was full of vibrant spices and fresh ingredients, making it a memorable meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for quality, authentic Thai cuisine.
The food continues to live up to its hype and consistency! Probably our 5th time ordering The pad see yew was super flavorful and delicious, chicken super super good quality. I was in a rush and the staff were super kind and accommodating to me for takeout :)
Delicious Thai Cuisine with a Few Pricing Quirks
I recently dined at Bamboo Leaf, and my overall experience was quite enjoyable. The restaurant boasts an array of mouthwatering Thai dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. However, there were a couple of pricing-related quirks that left me with mixed feelings.
The food at is undoubtedly excellent. We tried the Pad Thai, soups and seafood curry. The flavors were authentic and beautifully balanced.
The ambiance of the restaurant also deserves praise. It had an inviting atmosphere and charming decor. The waitstaff can be a bit impatient and we saw only two servers, one of them also manages the front.
However, there are a couple of issues that I feel compelled to mention. The restaurant charges a $4 fee for credit card usage, which, in today's cashless society, can be a minor inconvenience. While this is not unusual in some establishments, it's something to keep in mind when planning your visit.
Secondly, I encountered an unusual pricing discrepancy when ordering soup with two kinds of protein, specifically tofu and chicken. Despite the fact that the portions for both options were identical, the restaurant charged double for the combination of tofu and chicken compared to just tofu. This pricing strategy seemed a bit arbitrary and left me feeling somewhat puzzled. For my next visit, I will limit the choice of protein to only one kind-same delicious taste and a lower price!
In summary, Bamboo Leaf is a place where you can enjoy an exceptional Thai dining experience with a few minor hiccups related to pricing. The delectable cuisine and cozy ambiance certainly make it worth a visit. Just be prepared for potential credit card fees and the odd pricing structure when ordering certain dishes.
Went here for the first time tonight. We have been wanting t to try for so long. Super cute inside but small so it would not be great for larger parties. All of the food was absolutely delicious! Got the pad see ew & pad Thai. Vegetables and all other ingredients were super fresh - you could just tell. I also got the cucumber salad which was amazing!!
We went on a Friday night so I was expecting some sort of wait for food/seating but we were seated right away. However, our order was not taken until probably 25-30 minutes after we were seated. And the food probably took another 25-30 minutes to get. Note that you may have to wait a while for your food so it might not be best to go super hungry as they only have one person taking orders for the whole restaurant (at least when we were there). Everything is made from scratch so the food was definitely worth the wait though! We will probably just order takeout when we want it again.
This is a very nice Thai restaurant. We have been here twice, and both times the food and service were excellent. My wife had the seafood soup which she said was very fresh and the pineapple fried rice which I tasted and it was delicious. I had the Thai spring rolls which were large and wonderful, and then my favorite, the pad Thai. Highly recommended if you are looking for a great Thai restaurant with a cozy atmosphere.
Bamboo Leaf in Bradley Beach, NJ is truly excellent Thai food. The Papaya salad was prepared as it should and hosted a really nice depth of flavor. The Pad Kee Mao was also delicious… made properly, a nice light char to the noodles, which is always a nice touch. I asked for my food to be Thai hot… and boy do they deliver! Chopped thai chilies on everything…. Finally got very hot when asked (you have to be into serious heat when asking for this here). The two dishes pictured… no drink… tax, tip and credit card fee equaled over $50 for lunch.
Overall, I’d highly recommend if you want skillful Thai meal. The one thing that irked me… as the check came out I was notified of the flat credit card processing fee of $4. Won’t break the bank, but this is just frustrating, annoying and petty, based on principle at this point as more and more restaurants are passing hidden fees in addition to the price of the food. (Taking a nod from those annoying cellular service providers??) This practice needs to stop, in general… Bamboo is part of the problem. Doing the math, the fee they charged was higher than the fee they incurred …. So this is more than a true pass through/offset.
My favorite Thai place I remember going there with my husband in heaven.
Crazy good. Like some of the best Thai food I've ever had
Gone downhill
We had an amazing dining experience at this wonderful Thai restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and truly authentic, bringing the rich flavors of Thailand right to the table. Every dish we had was full of vibrant spices and fresh ingredients, making it a memorable meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for quality, authentic Thai cuisine.
Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a very long time. I am a big foodie, but I’m also a very sensitive celiac so I have to be very careful and picky about where I eat. I will be a regular now & I am so glad to have been taken here! Thank you for taking my allergies so seriously and making all the food so delicious! The staff is also incredibly kind, enjoyed every moment of dining here.
Very good.
Had the Pad See Ew noodles with steak and the Thai Pad noodles with Shrimp both kicked butt
I highly recommend Bamboo Thai Eatery. As an American having lived and worked in Malaysia, Johor Bahru, Singapore, and Thailand, I truly appreciate great quality noodles. We had the Drunken Noodles with Beef, and it was delicious! You will enjoy Thai Eatery with a staff who are very professional at providing you with a tasty, friendly, helpfu,l Thai food experience. Highly recommended!!
The food continues to live up to its hype and consistency! Probably our 5th time ordering The pad see yew was super flavorful and delicious, chicken super super good quality. I was in a rush and the staff were super kind and accommodating to me for takeout :)
It’s stupid good
Great simple food the way it should be 👍🏼
I had Basil Fried Rice it is an amazing taste. Must visit!!!
The most authentic Thai restaurant in Monmouth County. The food taste great and fresh. They choose good quality food materials.
Our food and ourselves were excellent. But the host / owner was very gruff and unwelcoming. Still, we enjoyed our visit.
As a vegan i absolutely love this place! the drunken noodles are amazing. the soups are amazing. crispy tofu, fantastic. My only complaint is the papaya salad is made with fish sauce :( and there is on vegan option available.. otherwise wonderful
Pretty busy place! I can tell why. Really fresh, good food. Will be back again to explore the menu.
Food is really good! We usually eat early so no problem with crowds. Food comes out fast and hot. Everyone there has been super nice.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Central NJ
Last night we stopped in here without a reservation, a soft spoken guy says give me about 20 minutes, so we waited outside! Place was jammed packed, and we had no idea what to expect, so we waited, and damn am I glad we did. Last night I had one of the best meals of my life. I had no idea what the menu meant, I'm not familiar with Thai food, but on the recommendation of the owner I ordered what he claimed to be an awesome dish. (Noodle Soup with Pork, & Chicken Pad See Ew) Let me start by saying I am no food critic, I just know what tastes good and what doesn't, and this food was so delicious that I want to go back there today for lunch! Im telling ya, it was so good that Im sad to say that I waited this long to eat here! Please if your on the fence call for a reservation and get yourself some of this place, because its an untapped jewel in Bradley Beach! AMAZING is an understatement, if youre in the mood for something different, dont go anywhere else!
The food was excellent and everything was very fresh. The staff was accommodating my want for lots of bok choy in my dinner.
Nobody picks up the phone there, I've tried 4 times in the last 2 weeks to order from them and cant get anyone to pick up the phone to place my order. Lunch time, dinner time, doesnt matter, no one picks up
The food is fresh and delicious. I ordered the coconut water, pad thai, and pineapple rice.
Always a great meal! If you ask for spicy it’s definitely not going to disappoint!
The food was fresh, well seasoned and absolutely amazing. The Auntie who cooks the food is very friendly.
Great family run restaurant. The food was prepared fresh and served hot. Great location on Main Street.
The food was delicious. We specially request for spicy. They helped us with spicy sauce and fresh cut red chilli
We have never had a bad meal at the Bamboo leaf and have been going for years. It's a BYOB place which is great and there is al liquor store a 1/2 block away. The staff are awesome as well.
Beautiful, serene, small dining room. Excellent service. Family run. Delicious food - curries, soups, noodle dishes. We love salmon basil. They will moderate spiciness to your liking. Vegan options and brown rice. BYOB. 2 liquor stores within 1-2 blocks.
This place is so great!!! Amazing vegetarian dishes!!! Don’t forget the Thai Iced Tea when you come! 😋
Absolutely great Thai food!! I am in the area 4 times a year and I go here everytime! The sticky rice with mango always finishes my meal perfectly!
Best Thai food in the area by far. Pro tip: call ahead to make sure they are open.

Let me start with the fact that the food is incredible. The low review is because I came on Saturday 23March well within their posted hours and they were closed. This is the third time I have tried to eat here recently with no success. Other attempts were because the place was packed and they will not take reservations for parties under 6 people. Maybe if the stars align I will be able to enjoy their food again.
Tried going today, closed with no reason or anything posted anywhere.
I love this place. The food is so healthy and beautiful, and you have a choice of white or brown rice, and mild, medium, or very spicy. I have food allergies and I'm almost vegan, so it's not easy for me to find congenial menus. Bamboo Lead has not only that but a low-key vibe, decor, and staff that is as beautiful as the food itself.
LOVE
The BEST !!!!
Why are you closed? We came yesterday 1/4/24 and you were closed. We came again tonight 1/5/24 and you are closed again.
Best Thai food in the area hands down.
Best Thai food in Central Jersey. Prices are super high, and they charge extra for credit.
Excellent food every time you go. Family owned and you feel welcomed by all employees. Love love the pad thai and drunken noodles. Totally worth it every time!
The restaurant has excellent Thai food and great service.
However, I have tried to order twice within the past week on two separate occasions, and the restaurant has been randomly closed (Friday night and Tuesday night). Google states that they are open as well as their website; only Doordash says it is unavailable. It is not updated on any of their social medias either. No hate on the business, I love this restaurant, but just want the hours to be accurately updated please!
First time, but not the last. Food was so clean and fresh, nice vibe, good people, highly recommend
Best thai food anywhere I have had it. I have known the owner for years and she is awesome. RT pretty cool too!! Amazing food and service. Panang curry is super flavorful!!
The drunken noodles and Penang curry were absolutely delicious, but the pad thai was just alright, not quite reaching the same level of flavor as the other dishes.
Amazing food and loved the dining atmosphere! Will definitely becoming back! 💯
This is my favorite Thai restaurant Ive been to out of the many I’ve tried. Their dishes just have something extra to them that makes them so freakin delicious! I’ve been going here for 5 years and any time I’m in the area this is where I go. Our fave dishes: the fish cakes appetizer, chicken curry dumplings, pad Thai, panang curry, drunken noodles. Yeah there’s only street parking but you can park down a side street, easy fix, and go enjoy some fantastic food in a cool looking restaurant!
Best Thai food around!
Very good service
All I have to say is make sure that you check your bill because maybe you might get charged for something you might not get
Everything is good here. The ginger tea was on point. Pineapple fried rice, Spring roll, steamed shrimp dumplings,

Food was above average but the prices are absolutely absurd. Would never go back or recommend this place to anyone. A 4 dollar flat credit card processing fee was the final slap in the face.
Amazing food yet again. We love this establishment so much. Waited the exact time they said it would take, which I would wait hours if I had to. We were sat down and greated promtly. Food came out fast, hot, and delicious. Always a favorite and already planning our next night out here. Thank you to this amazing family for such an amazing meal everytime we visit.
Food has great flavor - soup and stir fry are my favorite
The pistachio horn blew me away but honestly everything was perfection. I think I dreamed of the cheese danish last night. It may have been slightly romantic, in the dream the danish had a credit score over 900 and said I could be the stay at home dad, taking care of our garden and cats. I might be in love with a pastry.
Penang curry with shrimp was delicious as was the Tom Ka soup and chicken spring rolls.
Went there for dinner for the first time, with my boyfriend. Wow, everything was totally delicious! Service and food excellent 👍
My friends and I attempted to eat here. I have a pretty bad gluten allergy and called ahead to make sure that my accommodations were reasonable. After finding out that I could get gluten-free pad Thai we came to the restaurant and we’re seated. After explaining to the waiter that I would like a gluten-free pad Thai and change and gloves so there would be no cross contamination the waitress laughed at me and slowly walked away, staring at me as if I said something offputting. It even says on the menu to alert the staff of any allergies so I guess that’s pointless. She was so rude and inconsiderate. My friends did get the pad Thai and said it was good but on the sweet side and also was very expensive. I just wish this place was consistent with there answers, so I didn’t have to waste my time and get laughed at by the staff member.
Very rude staff!! Avoid!!
It was honestly beyond delicious! Definitely going back.
Sorry gave this place a lot of chances and it doesnt add up for us anymore. The host is always very short and rude with the customers. The food is good here but the prices are outrageous for very small portions. Twice when we came to pick up we were told an hour wait and then when we arrived after an hour were made to wait 15+ minutes for our food as if they dont make it until you get there and wait. Will be going elsewhere for thai food in the future.
The food here never disappoints. And the service is friendly and efficient.
Fantastic foods, great taste, good selection, services prompt, bathroom clean. Reasonably priced. Parking was a challenge.
The shrimp tasted very bad, like it was soaked in chlorinated water or some other cleaning product. Sent it back. Couldn't even swallow the one shrimp I tried.
high quality thai food. price is high and the portions are huge. I eat a lot of food and I have leftovers for the next day.
I recommend:
panang curry
basil stir fry
pad thai
pad see ew
papaya salad
duck
stir fry yummy
very good Thai dinner
food is just like other Thai restaurant and I don’t know how come it’s 50% more expensive than others. The menu has no price on it! What the hell! Don’t go to this restaurant ever.
Their papaya salad is not vegan, it contains fish sauce
Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand!
Food is so good! Looking forward to dinning in next time!
Sad but this restaurant is really good food wise. Front desk check in person is rude and better attitude towards customers is def needed in this place.
I highly recommend going elsewhere until they improve their customer service at the front door.
Well prepared Thai food and friendly service. We will be back!
Perfect BYOB for authentic Thai cuisine.
Highly recommended!!!
Please update your work hours. Complete lack of regard when all your social media and Google says your open and your closed. Or when you say your open till a certain time and I call to place an order and your saying that your closing hours earlier so my order can't be taken....happened multiple times.
Great food really expensive, can't get take out when they are busy. Go to Spicy Thai in Red Bank better food much cheaper
The food is delicious but it's close all the time. Like now I'm calling and nobody answers.
It's loud when full. Very busy place for take out as well. Huge portions so the higher price is worth it. Go early, like the second they open.
Important to know upfront, no reservations, and they do get busy. I got the seafood panang curry which was great and I know the grilled salmon with panang curry was also great.
In a nutshell...Love the food, whether dining in or takeout..a bit pricey, but what isn't these days? Service is good too!
I'm furious! I placed a takeout/pickup (thru GrubHub) on Friday night (1/20/23) and showed up on time to pick up the order... the Bamboo Leaf restaurant was closed! Doors locked, lights off, no signs. Nothing. This is totally irresponsible and incompetent on the part of both GrubHub and the restaurant: don't accept orders and charge my credit card if the place is closed!
Did a pick up, food was fantastic, best Thai food around and at a fair price.
Just moved to the area. My new favorite spot! I ordered the crispy tofu and the veg/tofu noodle soup extra spicy. It was sooooo good, I would have taken pictures but there was a lovely romantic dim lighting in the restaurant and I didn’t want to kill the vibe with a phone light. There are so many more things on the menu I’m interested in trying. The menu is perfect for any type of diet. I eat a vegan diet and there are so many options for me. Will definitely be back! I heard they aren’t always open which was confirmed when I tried to order takeout today for lunch. Looking forward to my next meal from there!
Amazing Thai food, amazing staff
This place is family run and delicious is an understatement. Worth the pricing for their quality for sure!
They have the best Chicken Pad Thai I've ever had.
Expensive and not tasty.
So many delicious choices for all eaters, loved the curry all plant-based!
Great food and service! Highly recommend 👌
Went here for dinner before hitting some bars in Asbury Park. The place is small but cool vibes. Wife said place was cute. It’s BYOB so bring your own drink. There were 2 wait staff for the whole place so be patient with your order. We ordered house salad, which was bangin, basil stir fry, incredible, drunken noodles, best dish of the night, red curry, massaman curry. If u can handle spice, order spicy. Medium spice is tolerable.
Incredible food and we enjoyed every bite we took. Place is affordable but above all, awesome spot if delicious food matters. If u r craving some Thai food, head here right away and thank me later 😂
We already started planning to come back immediately after we left. 🇹🇭🍲🌶❤️
I went here yesterday and the food was incredible. This is by far one of the best Thai places in the area. Highly recommended. Will return soon. Thank you.
Food was very good. Service and wait times were very long due to lack of staff. But our waitress was nice and pleasant attitude
If I could give them more than five stars, I would. I was introduced to this place by friends in the area many years ago and have visited almost monthly for eat in or take out. My favorite are the red curry and the ginger stir fry and sometimes the papaya salad. Love the owner and her family and always enjoy going there to eat.
This place is amazing!!! Food was mega delicious and super fresh! We will definitely come back! Beef salad is very good, and coconut juice !!!!
Red curry with shrimp and cucumber salad were delicious. Stir fry with shrimp and vegetable spring rolls looked perfect and tasted even better. We both enjoyed our meals! Staff is so pleasant and accommodating.
Very nice little Thai restaurant. High quality and very good food. Didn't know this place is BYOB, so, I ended up getting a soda for my meal. Plan on bringing your favorite bottle if you want to pair your food with an alcoholic beverage.
Best food. Great experience every time we go there.
Bamboo leaf is an absolutely phenomenal family-run restaurant! The atmosphere and service are exceptional. As somebody that has been dining the jersey shore for over 20 years this is hands down one of my favorite restaurants I have consistently returned to for years.
Best Thai food around, hands down. In light of current events, and everything the restaurant industry has faced, Bamboo Leaf has done a great job of continuing to offer consistently delicious food at reasonable prices. Extremely friendly staff and a great atmosphere inside. Not to mention, a great location. We can't eat Thai food anywhere else, nothing compares. We will continue to support this local business for sure.
Best Thai food in the area! This is an authentic, friendly, family run small business and they go out of their way to make their customers happy. Their food is phenomenal and we are always greeted and treated like old friends. So glad they reopened indoor dining and I hope this place sticks around for a long time to come!
I can't begin to express the shining gem that is Bamboo Leaf. A family ran Thai restaurant with so much more to offer other than absolutely outstanding food. They have stood not only the test of time, but have made it though the pandemic with grace and now hurdling over the obstacle of indoor dining.
The food speaks for itself, it's packed full of flavor, fresh seasonal vegetables are always used and you can always taste the love and labor put into each and every dish. From the crispy tofu, to the panang curry right down to the basil fried rice, each one is bound to knock your socks off. Every single dish is worth every last penny, and I'd pay double if they asked!
Now that indoor dining is back in full swing, we can finally enjoy the colorful and electric decor, the wide full windows to bask in the beach kissed sun and the smell of the kitchen hard at work.
The staff may very well be even better than the food. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable about each and every menu item, as well as dietary restrictions such as vegan dishes, gluten free ect. It's beautiful to see such a close team working together to bring people the jersey shores best Thai food.
Anyone that stops by should feel very lucky to get to try some of these outstanding dishes and be in the presence of such great staff and chefs.
Party of two dining in on a Friday night. The table we were given was wobbly and in the entryway of the restaurant. The servers hovered behind us and bumped into me as I ate. It was definitely the worst table in the house.
The appetizer (Rings - $15 calamari) came out quickly and was tasty. Unfortunately just a few minutes later our entrees came out leaving us no time to enjoy the app.
The restaurant faces west and has large windows. As the sun set it shined directly into our faces for the duration of the meal. There were no shades or curtains to shield us. We were hot and uncomfortable the whole time.
The servers are all very young and inexperienced. No one checked on us until we were nearly done and it was a drive by check in at best. Also, their attire was strange and not appropriate for the venue.
Finally the prices are absurd especially if the experience is going to be as awful as it was. $27 for noodle entrees while holding onto a wobbly table, getting bumped into, squinting into the sunlight, being ignored by awkward servers and feeling rushed just isn't the vibe. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I really can't emphasize enough how unpleasant this dining experience was.
The food IS delicious and that's the only thing this place has going for it although we won't be back to try it again.
Superb Thai food! So glad they reopened!
The food was delicious 😋
Been going here since pre pandemic times. There is no dine in and only takeout. The issue is the prices are astronomical post pandemic. We ordered 3 entrees for a total of 66 bucks and one was just vegetarian basil fried rice. Its quite a steep raise from what was $12-18 per entree to $22 per entree. Skimpification on white rice is astounding when you pay $22 + bucks and need to request rice.
Not sure if prices will go down once the ‘season’ begins in Bradley Beach but beware if you decide to go down for dinner some day. There are other options than ‘pricey’ thai.
Very very very disappointed we were order charged for our order
According to their websites menu we were order charged 20 something dollars
We will never be back
I think they’re out of business, closed Friday night
Authentic taste of Thailand which is sure to delight- try the drunken noodles!
Indisputably the absolute best thai food in the area
We miss going there for dinner, but still order take-out. You can ask them to not include the plastic ware and our last take-out was in cardboard not plastic. Their food is delicious and never disappoints. I'm extra happy the mornings I wake up and know we're getting bamboo leaf that night!
Best Thai food in the state very fresh worth every penny
Sooo good.
Expensive but well worth every penny. Only dish to skip is the eggplant.
We are new to the area but the Bamboo Leaf has already become one of our regular go to restaurants. Everyone we’ve met in the area has recommended it. It’s not the cheapest in town but well worth the money. We keep trying new things and continue to be impressed.
Nice place. Fast service
Delicious ,local Thai food
One of the best Spots around Fresh and clean .. great employees .. must try
Delicious as always and happy to have a reliable, gluten-free option nearby. Still take-out only right now but hoping the dining room will re-open soon. 40 minute wait for take-out.
Amazing place.. amazing food.
Best Thai food in the jersey shore!
Please for the love of the sanity household answer the phone when my wife wants your food because it's so good and ordering Chinese when I can't call ahead just doesn't cut it tbh.
Forgot to pack the rice, didn't feel like driving 15 minutes back to store to pick it up, I asked for a discount cuz of mistake and they said 10% off on next purchase. $57 for 2 dishes.
I was wary of the price of their dishes because they're about $5 over what I would typically spend, but you get what you pay for! I ordered the shrimp/chicken Pad See Ew combo and had enough for 3 meals. We also got the Panang Curry and Basil Stir fry and the dishes were super fresh. I was just visiting from out of town, but highly recommend Bamboo Leaf for its quality.
Came here for a little get together with some friends. I love the atmosphere, the design of the restaurant is cute, not fancy at all. I love that it’s BYOB and their food was pretty good. I liked the apps I ordered.
Best Pad Thai ever, it is so light I love lemon and all of the veggies! I had it with tofu and its a 10/10! We also had the drunken noodles, thai ice teas and spring rolls and everything was great, thank you again!!
This is place is bomb. I think it's family-owned/run. It has great food. And the vibe you get, even when getting take out, is wonderful.
Both pre-pandemic and during, food is by far delicious and comforting. Eating from there brings Thailand to you. Very polite staff's always.
Delicious! One of my favorite Thai spots in Jersey. Thank you!
Makes the best Deep fried Xango icecream ever!😅
I absolutely love Bamboo Leaf! The chicken panang is my favorite! It's real food, with lots of vegetables(broccoli, carrots, snap peas, red/yellow/green pepper) and flavor! I also like the peanut flavor which no one else does.
We got takeout and all 8 people loved it. Only unfortunate thing was they forgot to give us one of our eight orders, and another plate was the wrong meat. It was very good though
I'm a local. Lived here for many, many years. Food is fantastic but trending down, as is trying to order takeout. No one answers the phone anymore.....shame. Too many good restaurants in Asbury to dial over and over to get no one to answer.
Thursday, 6pm, no answer, then voicemail box full. Are they closed?
We love your deep fried icecream!
