Even for a couple it can get pricey. We found this restaurant on mccaran Blvd in a nice shopping center. We watched as customers entered the business many coming out with takeout.
We did a dine in. We ordered pineapple chicken fried rice, chicken satay, crab cheese rangoons, and tom yum seafood soup. In most Thai restaurants we have attended, the server will always ask us how hot/spicy we want the food. Usually on a scale of 1 to 10, we ask for an 8. All based on perception. Watch out for those ghost chillis. At this restaurant no one asked. I had to ask for a basket of chili peppers, ground chili, etc.
The food was good . The crab cheese rangoons, pineapple chicken fried rice and chicken satay were cooked just right. Chicken was moist, rangoons cheesy, but really couldn't taste the crab. The pineapple chicken fried rice had ample pieces of chicken, pineapple and cashews .

The soup was a little disappointing. One the spicynes was not there. I had to add ground chili. As for ingredients, I am used to more, shellfish still in the shell, crab legs and claws, as well as fish. This particular soup had none of that.

Otherwise ok, but the price a little high for 4 dishes and 2 Thai coffees.

An excellent Thai food experience! Our waiter came to check on us frequently and was very accommodating of our vegan diet. We loved the avocado curry, curry puffs, and mango sticky rice. The atmosphere was peaceful with lofi music playing in the background. We will be coming back.

Stopped by here on our way back from Reno to try based on the reviews. Crab pad thai was great with real crab meat, 4.5*, beef and tofu see ew were good, 4.5*, the coconut curry was tasty with the coconut meat, 5*, som tum papaya salad was good,4*, chicken satay,4*, but the mango sticky rice was a let down,2.5*-way too sweet, small mango portion, and too "soggy." The portions were generous and didn't skimp on the meats, crab, and shrimps (coconut curry had lots of shrimp).
Overall, a solid 4* for me.

Other Thai places I’ve been are cramped, crowded, and loud with no where to wait when they’re full. This was definitely not like that. I only saw one person serving all the tables and it was pretty busy but she did a fabulous job checking in with us and making sure we had everything we needed and wanted.

This is my go-to for Thai food in Reno/Sparks <3 Panang curry is my favorite, so I haven't tried very many items on the menu. Sawasdee's panang is the best I've had in the 20 years I've lived in the area. I usually order pick up & the hostess is always so kind & polite. The kitchen cooks everything quickly & perfectly. If you haven't tried the food here, you're missing out!

My family and I have been going to Sawasdee regularly for many years and we've never been disappointed. The portions are large, the prices are fair, and the food is always enjoyable. We recently had them cater for our wedding reception and we were just as pleased. It was wonderful working with the owner and we received top-notch service.

It's my family's favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Really good food! We usually get Thai fried rice, drunken noodles, pad Thai, or their red (or green) curry. They also have some really good appetizers! Would recommend!

Not recommended!

I ordered green curry and Thai iced tea. I got home and my meal was curry without the green and in a plastic container. The plastic was extremely hot. Not impressed or happy especially after paying $25 dollars for a meal and drink.

This is a true hidden gem! I have tried almost every tom yum in town, this is THE ONE!! I've been hunting for the best tom yum in reno this is it moodang, lanna's y'all have been beat HARD! I CROWN SAWASDEE THE KING OF TOM YUM! The Thai Tea was great, the Rangoons were perfect, rice was cooked right! I'm so glad I went out of my usual path for this it is truly worth it! 🙌 all transparency it's American thai spice levels, if you're looking to sweat order some extra spice on the side I got a five tastes like a 3-4 on a Thai scale it's sweet and a nice calm spice I added extra spice to get it up there. It is so incredibly worth it I haven't found an authentic Thai place anywhere in nevada like this.

I ordered the Pineapple Chicken and it was soaking in a box of what looked to be its own oil and the oil tastes like it hadn't been changed in days. After a few bites that's all I could stand and it started to make me feel sick to my stomach. It's just very sad that I had to waste so much money here.

This is my favorite Thai place in town. I have been going here since I moved to the Reno/Sparks area three years ago. The food is delicious and the folks who work there are so friendly. Their tofu is so perfectly crispy on the outside! I used to drive 20 minutes for pickup because their tofu is so good.

I just got an order of spring rolls obviously with peanut sauce and they were so good and fresh:) I could tell it was made with care. Would like more shrimp though.

Good food but a bit over priced . I will say seafood has gone crazy proce wise, that said it was godd. The atmosphere needs a mske ove. It sometimes feel like you are in a werehouse.

I have been eating here for 5 years now. I absolutely love it. I've tried other places but I keep coming back to this one. I always get the Thai spicy basil with chicken, and red curry. Sometimes other things here and there. Highly recommend.

Everything was on point from the crunchy eggplant, curry red and yellow, Thom Kha and Tom yum.

Pricey for the amount you get. The food is very tasty.

First time I wasn't blown away. The fish was over cooked. There was a skin flake in my water so I didn't drink it. The fried rice and noodles were pretty good tho.The staff were very nice and attentive idk if I'll come back tho

The service was real nice. The food was really good, and so was the Thai Ice Tea. You can also order for takeout. I've been here a bunch of times, and I will definitely be going back.

This place was great pre-COVID. No longer. Went for dinner and found metal - literally a piece of curled metal - in my food. The staff shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal with barely an apology. Evidently, finding non-edible, potential dangerous items in your food is par for the course. Yikes 😬 My dinner companions food was also sub-standard. I'll never go again.

Discovered this place once I moved to Sparks. The drunken noodle and salt and pepper steak is exceptional. Only downside is that the currys are too sweet for my taste.

Love the place. I've done Thai all around Reno/Sparks for years and none of the them are constantly as good as Sawasdee. The price is also very reasonable, I've had Thai meals that cost almost double what Sawasdee charges and Sawasdee still beats them.

Their Thai Iced Coffee is dreamy. Highly recommend 💕

I've eaten Thai at this location on and off for years as it has changed ownership. Recently I got a chance to try it again. They are definitely back on the list of favorite places to eat.

Asked for my food extra spicy level 5 and extra chili powder on the side. Received food with zero spice and a very very small container of chili powder only filled 1/8th of an inch. Don’t bother with this place if you like you Thai food with some heat.

I ordered curry, pad Thai, Larb salad and sweet n sour chicken for take out.. The food is excellent but the portions were so small for take out. Not sure if dine in portions are small too. But everything tasted delicious, food was so good!

1,000% best drunken noodle in Sparks or Reno. It’s my favorite dish of all the food in the world. There used to be another place that had a good one, but it’s been bland for years. This place nails it, every time. I order once a week. I’m not vegetarian but I get it with the tofu because they nail it how they fry it. Try it at 3 spicy, magical.

May be the other items are good but I got the chicken drunken noodles for lunch. Noodles and vegetables were OK but the chicken was horrible. I couldn't chew a single piece of chicken. It was literally white rubber. Not sure what kind of chicken meat or pieces they using. I think it's really old chicken or way undercooked chicken. Anyhow, I wish I could get my money back.

We went to eat as a group. The two black people at our table were not served their food. We waited over an hour to eat, and still they were not served. It was horrible!!!! I will never eat here again!

This place rocks! My favorite Thai food in town. They are quick, the staff is always kind, and they leave you nice messages thanking you for your business. They even put a Christmas card in the bag thanking me and included a gift! It was a box of peanut brittle, delicious btw. I was happily surprised after the Uber eats driver left and we opened the bag.

My rating went from 4 to 1 stars. The food is okay, but a tad overpriced for the quality level. The chicken is always a bit dry and tough. I came because it was close to home. However, the last two times I've been here it has taken way too long to get my orders and the place wasn't even that busy. Very unprofessional, staff were not even apologetic. So much of your customer relationship could be saved by one single sincere apology, or a staff member who would actually make eye contact and smile. Maybe offer the customer a glass of water or a tea while they wait there with nothing to do but steam for 30-45 minutes.

I enjoyed the coconut pot soup and my boyfriend had coconut curry. Even though she made an error on the spicyness for our dishes we still enjoyed our dish. Only down side is they charge extra for boba and for refills.

We came back just for their coconut soup and it's still the best! We have 3 small children this time and we were nervous it may not be child friendly. Our server was very kind, gave a suggestion for food they'd like, gave fun kid's plates and sticker place mats. Totally unexpected and very appreciated. Food was amazing.
