Popular outpost serving an array of elevated Thai dishes & tropical cocktails in a modern interior.
An excellent thai restaurant. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great! The food was somehow even better. The crab rangoons was AMAZING the best I have had yet. I had the drunken noodles at a level 3 spice which was tasty with a little bit of heat. I will definitely be going back to this place regularly.
Had the mango crab Rangoon (you can see them in the 2nd pic) and chicken pad Thai. Everything was delicious. The chicken pad Thai had tons of chicken so it was very filling. My friends all got the fried rice and the plate was heaping full. Everyone walked away full and happy, and the price is not bad at all. The only bummer for me was that they didn’t have boba tea that is advertised on their menu. Otherwise I highly recommend this place.
My Dad and I stopped in for lunch and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The standout for us was the Mango Crab Rangoon. I also enjoyed the Basil Beef. It was more than enough for lunch with leftovers for later. The service was efficient and friendly. I definitely recommend Mai Thai for a quality meal!
I'm not the kind of person to leave a review, but after what I had dealt with for the past two days, I had to share my experience. Yesterday, I called the restaurant to make a pickup order. Someone had picked up the phone without saying anything and set it to the side. I waited for a few minutes, saying hello before hanging up. I then tried calling again and again for 15 minutes straight but my call didn't go through. The line was busy since they left the phone on the side. Today, I called again and the very same thing happened. I waited on the line for over 6 minutes before I hung up and tried calling again. This time someone picked up and said to hold. I've been waiting on the phone for over ten minutes. It was a waste of my time waiting on the phone, so I drove there. They were not busy. I was able to place my order for pickup and asked to speak with the manager. The person I spoke to gave me a bunch of excuses. He said they're under staffed and under paid. How majority of the employees don't speak English. He mentioned how I'm the only customer who complains about the situation and how other customers don't mind waiting 15 minutes because their food is good. I've been coming to this location for over a decade and this is the only time I was upset. I only mentioned the situation to them so they can address it. I'd rather have the phone ring then for someone to pick it up and not say anything or come back to give me an update on how much longer it'll be. It's unprofessional and you guys will lose customers. I'm just giving you guys advice on how to improve your services, not to be insulted. I will not be coming here again. There's other restaurants around that have great customer service that I'd rather go to.
The flavors are spot on. Everything taste delicious... The beef salad is fantastic. Some of the flavor reminded us of our time in Thailand, some of the dishes are really traditional (the papaya salad for example).
The service is very nice and helpful and the place is really neat.
I can see where some might think it is pricey but for the quality / type of food this is very fair deal as the portion are large.
Wait time could lead to a four star review... But good is clearly freshly done. No short cut.
Been going this Mai Thai Aksarben location for several years now because of the food and service. Just had lunch 9/2/24 and ordered our usual. Asked the cashier guy if we could transfer for outdoor dining as it was cold inside and the guy told me that the outdoor dining was closed. His reason was there were only 2 lady waitresses. Place was NOT busy except for 2 other tables. Food arrives and didn't disappoint as usual, always good. After dining,.I asked for the check and the cashier guy places the check on the opposite end of the table and leaves. Paid for it and again guy leaves the receipt on the opposite end of the table. I have never experienced such laziness with staff. If it were not for the good food, I probably would not
be going back. The 2 female waitresses were excellent though just the male cashier.
Food is good but tried to call and was rudely put on hold, ignored, and seriously when you open may want to be ready for customers to call & order. Also when I called back I was lectured that when they are open I shouldn't call right at 11 as they have to get things ready. Also said that I hung up on him. Hmmm interesting since I was on hold for over 4 min which isn't long but why aren't they ready to take orders. Maybe get there alil earlier to have things done!
Nothing ruins a business more than being rude to paying customers!
I will not be ordering from here ever again! Very disappointing.
Got the curry very very very very very watery, chicken taste stale and old
I stopped going to this place shortly after it opened. One of the wait staff told me that the owner takes a cut from their tips. I know for fact that he continues this practice as I ran into a recent staff member who says the same. I also know that it is a federal offense if any of his staff would care to call the Department of Labor. Once they are notified they investigate and usually find additional discrepancies.

Apparently $13 online menu price means $20+ when you pick it up and pay for it. What's up with that?
I got Pad Thai Chicken, extra spicy for takeout. Paid $20, where other places would only charge $12-$14. The food was alright but not spectacular. All the ingredients mushed together and i couldn’t distinguish the flavors, not to mention I had to add my own crushed thai chili flakes to even register any spice! Only reason I came here was cause my usual favorite was closed on Sunday. I will not be visiting again.
Top place to chill and eat.. I love this place 🙂
Still one of the best restaurants in Asksarben Omaha.
Amazing food
Very cool place! Love the neighborhood and the vibe! The food was great! Didn't knock my socks off. However, I truly enjoyed everything about the experience! Clean, service prompt and nice! Kept my oce tea full!
Love there wings

Very rude people. And not worth the price.
$18 an entree for rice noodles is ridiculous! My vegetables were super over-cooked. They were probably frozen vegetables. There is a sign on the door that says there is a cash discount but they didn’t give me one. My styrofoam containers were crushed and melted. The atmosphere is very ‘meh’ and nothing special. The handmade marker signs are tacky.
Best peanut butter chicken in the world.
Huge portion served with white rice.
Egg rolls and crab Rangoons delicious
There were 8 of us, and everyone was happy with their meal.
Great location. Server friendly and helpful
Food quality has gone down dramatically, but price has gone up of course. The pad see ew we ordered are anything but true pad see ew- soggy carbs with cheap materials that are also tasteless. Shouldn’t pad see ew use wide noodles and dark sauce? That quality is nowhere near what I can make at home. Very disappointing.
Probably the best Thai food in Omaha
Ok but ...
Will never go back to this place. Waited 25 min for my food just for it to come cold !!
3 plates of dinner and spent over 120$ 🤦🏽♂️
I wish i could inject the Tom Yum directly in my veins, it's unbelievable. Really good as leftovers too. Bangkok noodle is my other go to. Repeat offender
This used to be my favorite restaurant. But now the quality of food went down. And the presentation of food is not as good as it used to be.. There is no consistency in the taste. One time it’s too spicy another time not spicy enough. The portions are much smaller and the prices are too high. People that work there are very nice and friendly and I think that’s the only plus about that restaurant. So sadly I don’t think I will go back to that place again.
good pad thai and pad see ew
Not the best Thai food I've ever had,, but it was close...

Fantastic food
Meh, fast and cheap.
Place was swamped and they only had 1 chef and 1 waiter. Despite this, the food was still out in a reasonable time and it was absolutely delicious. Excellent option if you’re looking for food in Lincoln.
The food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
An excellent thai restaurant. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great! The food was somehow even better. The crab rangoons was AMAZING the best I have had yet. Loce the food 😋 😍
Very puzzling when you enter Into a establishment ask a simple question and be rudely answered and argued talked to loudly for price of food I have never been so disrespected in my life I was told a price on the phone and got there it was totally different price. Im just gonna say first time there last time.not cool at all. I felt discriminated period
Changed the menu minimal beef selection. Prices are little high
Fantastic food, great location.
The veggie Tom khah soup 👍🏻👍🏻🤤
My Dad and I stopped in for lunch and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The standout for us was the Mango Crab Rangoon. I also enjoyed the Basil Beef. It was more than enough for lunch with leftovers for later. The service was efficient and friendly. I definitely recommend Mai Thai for a quality meal!
Order Ginger Chicken with steam rice. I think the chicken was rotten and had a very bad flavor/smell. Also, the waiter refused to take a picture of us and he was very rude. Will definitely avoid this restaurant
Amazing food, love the chicken in the mud!
Prices are a little higher but definitely worth it
Excellent quality food, the mussels were the best I've had in a long time!
Friendly staff and the duck was Amazing!
Love this place.
One of the best I’ve had in a long time. Recommend checking it out!
Good food and a nice place.
Awesome food and service! The Mango fried rice tasted light and refreshing.
So terrible service I never had before!!!!!!!!!
Never come back again!!!!!!!
Apparently the prices on the website are incorrect so if you are doing a pick up order be prepared to pay more and get no explanation as to why. Also don’t bother to question the price difference because you will told to stop using Google (?) and that you are wrong. So yeah. Good food, questionable service
I wish I am from Omaha just becouse of mai Thai 😢. I love this place, food and service. Best taste 😋
Pad thai and yellow curry were delicious
Food is very good, prices are quite reasonable, and service is good
Would highly recommend. Everything was excellent. On par with the best Thai in most other cities.
So…I have been a customer to this place for a few years. Now mind you, not like I was a “know her by name” but definitely a repeat customer. I turned so many people onto this restaurant because of the food and the experience(s). So imagine my surprise when one hiccup derailed my entire experience for ever returning. So I called in a order to pick up. I was very specific and even mentioned that I had two separate orders. They seent 🤣 (yes I said it) no problem with it. So the first order was seafood fried rice with a level 2, mango crab Rangoon, and egg rolls and they stated they did not have egg rolls available so I switched it to shrimp spring rolls. Order one was done. Then the second order was a shrimp fried rice level 3 and mango crab rangoon (2). Order two done. I then asked for the totals. The answering person said they were really busy and that I had to be on hold for him to calculate the amounts. I kindly held. He returned, he then repeated the first order and again we confirmed and total was given. He then went to state the second order. I confirmed SHRIMP! Then the total was provided. So, I came to the restaurant, paid, etc. This was a hour and a half before close time. The aksarben area was busy that day so I returned to destination and then when I did I seen that my order the second one was incorrect. I called them and told them hey order mess up, cannot return tonight but do not eat chicken and was served chicken. The woman said sorry and put me on the line with the guy who took my order. Now this is where the frustration began. I told him what the orders were. He remembered. He agreed I said shrimp initially. Shrimp fried rice and seafood fried rice but then had the audacity to say when he repeated my order to me he said chicken. So then I brought to his attention there was no chicken in either order and when he repeated it back he said shrimp and I agreed. He then became nasty and said all we can do is have you bring back the order and give you 20% off a new order. I was too far away and could not return in time. Specifically said that too. NOW! Hold up! Pause. Why in the heavens would I pay for another order that they messed up on. Then he tried to pretend he was throwing me a bone or favor by giving a 20% off. They tried to argue that I was not charged for shrimp and to be content with my food. After such a disturbing experience I decided I am not returning. I even offered to pay for just the up charge in shrimp since I was not charged but they had the audacity to mess up my order and then expect me to pay for my full order again and give me 20% as if that would help. I was disappointed because I really did like the food but after that service experience and as much as I have ordered over the years. It was time to let it be. So hopeful that the next customers are treated better because that experience was some bullsugar.
Wow the food here was really delicious! The To yum soup probably had at least over 10 jumbo shrimp and tasted super yummy (spice level 3), drunken noodles were great tasting, and the clear noodle dish was amazing too ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Nice place, food is good, but not outstanding, service was fine, they close at 8pm because Covid...
Service was awesome! We had a toddler and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice dinner.
The vegetables in our dishes were crisp and fresh! I ate a duck dish, and it was cooked to perfection. Pro Tip: Consider paying in Cash ;)
Great little space. Food was delicious. Very flavorful and large portions. Parking can be a pain due to the surrounding area, but well worth it. Will be going back soon.
Were out of spring rolls, Horribly overpriced, barely any veggies at all in the Tom yum. Food took forever to come out. My thai restaurant back home blows this out of the water. Won't be back.
Customer service is terrible
Service is terrible at this location. Move on.
Stopped in on a whim & was delicious! Big portions, good service, clean spacious restaurant.
The food was delicious and the place is spacious and comfortable. Lots of variety in the lunch menu. Safely gluten free
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Will never be back.
I ordered chicken mango, basil duck, sticky rice mango and ice Thai coffee. The bill is around $58, with tip would be around $70. So it’s not cheap to eat out. However, I’m very happy with the freshness of the food including meats and vegetables. It’s worth the money I paid for. The service is ok. Keep up the good work!
Great menu. Reasonable prices. Super service. Love the atmosphere.
Never a disappointment, the food is always amazing!! But for the love of all that's good in life, bring back the spring rolls!
Always a little extra busy when there is an event at Baxter but I always love their food and drinks.
Disappointed with the chicken in our meals as it was just frozen chicken strips cut up. Jeanne mango chicken sounded good but was drowning in a sweet, yet boring sauce that I felt I could make myself (and I’m not that good of a cook!). My daughter’s mango boba tea was pretty good however.
okay, wow! The food here is amazing! My mom and I were craving thai and this hit the spot. We will def be back!
We have been to many Thai restaurants but this one, our first and last. As soon as we walked in, our waiter Alex was so rudely shouting at us for water, then soon after, we had ordered red curry, but it was like soup and when we asked, why is the curry so watery, his answer was, since there were vegetables its runny, Rice was not even cooked and noodles were not good. Overall we did not enjoy the food not the service and not going back there again.
LOVE the drunken noodles.
Chicken in the mud was great!
The food was absolutely amazing the drinks were delicious. Fast service and good prices. The pad Thai was some of the best Pad Thai I have ever had. 10/10 recommend.
Mai Thai is a small, quiet restaurant. We were seated quickly and our service was good. They have a bar area on one side a restaurant area on the other. The food was quite good, especially the egg rolls we ordered as our appetizer. We'll definitely be back to try some other dishes!
Nice location. Food is ok if not the best. Spice levels were good. Service was slow.
Visited a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is great, the service great and the Pad Thai was exactly what I expected, although 4 is not hot enough for my taste buds. Next time, I will try level 5 of spiciness.
I have been coming here since they first opened. Love the food and the quality. Spicy level four is the best! I asked for a refund because of how bad my food was after waiting for 45 minutes for carry out due to the extremely busy time. They stated they could not refund me even though I didnt eat hardly any of my food. There was barely any shrimp in my fried rice and no tomatoes. I got two other dinners which were subpar. Probably because they were so busy. They have been doing this for years and still would not give me a free dinner or a credit. And we all know they are not cheap. On top of that, if this is how you are going to treat your long term returning customers, you should think about how this affects your business. I know you cannot do this for everyone but I am not everyone. I'll continue to tell people about how you treated me as well as how much money you will loose from me no longer coming here. I know you remember who I am because I'm in there every week.
I like hot, and I thought Midwesterners had more mild tastes. I went 4 out of 5 heat stars and it was 🔥 🥵. I totally mis judged and it was good taste for the first couple bites but quickly became over bearingly hot. This was totally my fault. Buyer beware, hot means hot.
Portions are large but the Pad Thai was too saucy and sweet, with not enough chicken. Service was polite but not quick. We weren’t in a rush so overall experience was OK.
We love mai thai! Our favorites are the gyoza, spring rolls, and crispy chicken. The restaurant itself is a little outdated but the food makes up for it and then some.
The Mai Tai Wings ..Are the Absolute Best 👌 👍🏻 in Omaha..not to Hot/ Spicy..Just Right.. Absolutely a Wonderful Experience..

God Bless 😇
Good food, friendly staff and a nice location.
I tried red curry here 2 times. The food is acceptable, but no authentic. The after taste is not good. I lived in Dallas area for a long time, so my taste may be inflated. For me, the food deserves 3 stars and overpriced. I still come back because there is not many choices for Thai food in the area.
Recently, I see on their front door saying that they offer 4% (or 3% not sure) discount if customers pay with cash. I paid with cash but they charge me with the original price. That was not much so I did not say anything and left. I just do not feel good about the service. I don’t think I will be back anymore.
Delicious food.
Absolutely delicious! Friendly service and strong drinks! 🙂
I've tried everything on the menu and there's not a single item I haven't enjoyed. I like the Chicken in the Mud at 144th the most but everything is quality here.
Delicious!
Love their CHICKEN IN THE MUD
Stir-fried chicken with egg, onions, celery, gingers, bell peppers, & carrots in cream sauce!!!
The egg rolls are delightful and very crispy. The food comes out piping hot!!
Kind, clean, fresh, quick. 👍
Good service, hot food, delicious peanut butter chicken. Mango crab Rangoon was great as well! Coconut shrimp was a little over cooked but not too bad.
I had Shrimp and crab meat fried rice with fried dumplings, my wife ordered drunken noodles, and both the dishes were excellent. The portions served are so large we both had to get to-go boxes. The service is good. I ate there a year ago and am glad I tried them again.
Had dinner here when we stopped at the Aloft Hotel Aksarben (short walk away).
The food was great and the servers were friendly. Portions were good.
Only four stars because for some reason they started cleaning up / shutting down the restaurant way early. We thought we were staying passed their closing time, but in fact they didn't officially close for another 45 minutes or so after we were basically chased out. We left around 8:15 or so, but saw on the door on the way out that they are open until 9:00 (at least in theory, I suppose). Sure, when we left we were maybe the last or second to last group there, but still why are you sweeping the floor and putting up chairs at 8:15?
But, food was very good, and that is what we were interested in.
Eat here at least once a month. The manager knows my order by heart. Food is amazing and great portions not expensive but great quality And always fresh!
Have ate here many times. Always has great food but they need to change their hours to accurately reflect when you can eat. Dine in closes at 8 because they need to clean the kitchen. I've never been to a restaurant that posted a closing time of 9 but closed their kitchen early. We arrived at 8:30, plenty of time to eat at most places and the dining room had at least 6 tables that were just beginning their meal. I own a restaurant and would never turn away customers prior to a posted closing time.
Why did you add 20% to my total bill? It’s called service charge. Also took another 10% tips?
Will never eat again. The food and service were awful. We ordered asparagus chicken. Chicken was plain. This is Tai restaurant, where is the spice, flavor??? I found one shrimp tail with no body, excuse me??? Will not recommend that place to anyone.
We always pass by this place when we’re in the area. We decided to give it a try and we were NOT disappointed. The service was good, the food is awesome and the place is clean…downside was when the very loud friends of the bartender came in and ruined the experience. We hope the next we go there, “the friends” will not be there!
I had the crispy basil duck! It was extraordinary! You should try it!
Party of 6, everyone liked their food. (Sorry no pictures) I had the Penang Curry. Flavors was great, their spicy level are 1-5 I got 3, and felt I could handle stronger... So if you like spicy at least a 4, or 5.
If you like Thai this a great place to eat.
Food was good
My husband and I ordered take out couple time from this place, The food was decent. I specialy like ordering from this place chicken in mud. Three day ago we order take out of Chicken
in Mud, PINEAPPLE CURRY-BEEF OR CHICKEN and some chicken noodles for my kid. My husband started eating his food while we were driving around and found this long string thing in his food. Thank God I didn't give this food to my toddler because this big choking hazard and unsanitary . I did talk to Maneger and he said they didn't have this particular strings in their kitchen which made worried even more.
Food just wasn't that good
Delicious peanut butter chicken and great service.
Good Thai Food, but the cost has skyrocketed. >$20 for an entree (small portion) and a drink.
Let me tell you about these wings at Mai Thai...best wings I've had probably ever in my life! They are so crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the sauce is to die for. They made them extra wet, which I love the most. Pair those with a nice order of sticky rice and you have lunch. I tried the crispy duck dish this time for my entree ad it was delicious as well. It was so much food I had to take some home. My waitress was attentive and very nice. It was just an all around great experience. They now offer seafood and I will be back to give it a try and of course I'll let you all know how it went 😌
Didn’t get lunch photos due to food being to good! Ordered a Peanut Butter Chicken to go for dinner which is pictured. Excellent balance of sweet and savory. Lunch was outstanding while dining in. The Garlic Chicken and Mango Crab Rangoon will be hard to not order every time we go back. Roasted, shaved garlic on top of the chicken…not a girlfriend getter but man will you self love be bolstered! Great service, great food, even better tastes so, can’t go wrong with this one no matter the occasion.
Good lunch. The curry was good.
Love the Chicken Mango! Best dish ever!
I liked it. A little more expensive than I'd have liked for the amount of food I got. The host staff were very pleasant.
Bomb food!!! Try the fried fish.
Great food!!!! Definitely recommend
Delicious food and decent ambience.
This was my first time eating Thai food and I loved it! I will definitely be going back.
🔥 peanut butter chicken was so good
Good food and price
It’s one of our favorite Thai restaurant. Service is fast, ambience is good and food is authentic and tasty. It’s near to our apartment m, so been there multiple times whenever we crave for Thai cuisine. In our recent visit to the place, we ordered Pad-Thai noodles, Drunken noodles in main course and Golden Buddha in appetizer. Food was delicious and satisfying. We love this place.
Very good food. Nice restaurant with very friendly staff.
