Thai Orchids has the best Thai food we’ve had so far in Omaha. We ordered the stuffed chicken wings, fried tofu, and orange curry with chicken. The star of the show was the orange curry, it was delicious. Portions are big so plan on eating family style. We ordered Mango sticky rice for dessert to-go and planned on eating it once home but it was so good we finished it in the parking lot! We will 100% be back!

The orange chicken curry with spice 4 is my favorite dish here and it blends a manageable spice level without compromising the flavor. It is so absolutely incredible that I ate the whole thing before I remembered to take a picture. At the end of dinner I was able to take a picture of someone else's plate with the beef curry and rice.

The portions are so well done, expect to come hungry or leave with a to-go container.

10/10 would recommend for anyone visiting Omaha wanting to patronize a family run spot.

Ate here for the first time tonight. The Coconut Soup was absolutely delicious and generously portioned. It was the right amount of tangy, sweet, spicy and savory in every bite. Drunken noodles were good as well, but the soup was by far my favorite. Small, quiet place.

We had a bad experience with the service, they had us waiting for our meal more than an hour, and the waitress was unattended.
It’s disappointing because we really liked the food

This place was delicious! Plenty of option for vegans and vegetarian. I got the yellow curry mild and it still had a kick to it. Just the right amount for me. Folks were friendly. I’d come back next time in town!

I have had many dishes here always happy!!!!! The only bad thing is its 25 min away.

Hit and miss. The satay and spring rolls were great. Thai iced coffee was good but pretty expensive The masaman curry was good but had a very interesting citrusy flavor. The pad Thai was the worst we have ever had. Tasted ol and lacked flavor and was missing some of the key ingredients. Maybe it was left overs? The Bangkok meat was pretty good. I probably would look for some place else. There are lots of options. Not sure what happened.

Their Pad Thai is a definite have to try on your first visit, but I would also say their Drunken Noddles is my favorite dish.
They score their spice level on a 1 to 10, and unlike some places I've been it has a smooth increase rather than a high jump around 4.

I am a big fan of their red curry. A staple in Thai restaurants for me. The flavor is perfect! They also have a curry I'd never heard seen before: peanut curry! It was sweet and savory and so good!

So bad service I'm so disappointed, I ordered some food to go over the phone and they said my order will be ready in 45 minutes, when I went to pick up my order they make me wait another 25 minutes for one freaking order. & still didn't fill my order, instead taking other orders. I worked in a restaurant before and this is a disappointed service. If you can't fill the order ontime let the costumers know, don't make them loose their time😠

Please get an answering machine to post when you are closed. Totally respect that you take time off but it is extremely frustrating to call and just ring and ring and not know you’re closed until you read a sign posted to the front door.

Best Thai food in the Omaha area! I've been coming here for 8 years and it's never changed. I always order takeout as the service can be a little slow, but the food will not disappoint. My favorite things to order are the yellow curry, coconut soup, broccoli noodle, lettuce wraps, and their curry puffs!

CHECK THE BILL before paying!! The food was good. But the experience was bad. I went there with my wife and two kids (9 and 1 year old). When we got the bill my wife quickly caught that the elderly lady (seemed like the owner) had charged us for one extra entree we never ordered. We told our server about it and he admitted it was a mistake and he took it back to the lady to fix it. She fixed the mistake but this time she added a 15% gratuity that wasn’t there before 😂. And no where on their menu or the waiter ever mentioned about automatic 15% gratuity before we ordered. When my wife asked the lady why this is just added now but not in the first bill, she said she forgot. We didn’t question her further since we would pay the gratuity anyway.

Overall I find this unethical that we were automatically charged 15% gratuity only when we pointed out their mistake on the bill. So, watch your bill before you pay. Also ask them about any automatic gratuity before you order if that concerns you.

This is hands down THE best Thai food in Omaha. The orange curry is to die for, as is the tom kha gai soup. They offer spice levels 1-10. I always ask for zero spice and that's exactly what I'm given! Everything I've ever eaten here has been wonderful. It appears to always be the same two or three ladies working and they are personable and kind.

Best spring rolls ever! Delicate and not oily. Some of the best restaurant food I've had in about 50 countries.

I loved Thai Orchid during the pandemic and this was my first in person visit (deliveries were always awesome btw). The atmosphere was perfect, not too dark or bright, the staff was extremely friendly, and the food was awesome as usual. My opinion is that this is the best Thai you can get in Omaha, and unless there's a new one I don't know about, I stand by that assessment! Prices are manageable, the staff isn't pretentious, and it just feels cozy. Give it a try and you won't regret it!

It is one of the best places for Thai food. I was always a fan of that type of food when I used to live in Washington state. I was concerned that I wasn't going to find my salmon curry. It was delicious. Try the mango ice scream and sticky rice.

I use to live in Phoenix Arizona. There were many Thai restaurants there.

My family and I have heard good things about this place, so decided to give it a go. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was nice and had a homey feel to it.

My wife and kids got Pad Thai, and I got the Thai Orchids Noodles. A few things on the meals:
- The portions are generous. Our kiddos split their order of Pad Thai, both left full, and we still had leftovers for them.
- Their spice level is definitely higher than others. I can handle a 10 at Mercy Thai, but I was advised that most people can't go beyond a 5 here. I did a 5, and while I enjoyed it, I don't know if I could have handled a 6.
- I for the life of me cannot remember the name of the appetizer, I think it was the Po Pak Tord, but it was like a fried veggie donut. It was delicious. Get a plate, you won't regret it.
- Everything was flavorful and delicious, and I loved how much vegetables was in my dish.

All-in-all, this is a place you don't want to sleep on.

BEST Pad Thai on Omaha!

Excellent food and the service is good. The portion size is more than I can eat (and the leftovers are good). There are booths good for quiet conversations. The tables can be arranged for large groups. Lunches come with a very tasty spring roll and a vegetable "doughnut" that is excellent.

I love this place, except that they put cilantro on their pad thai.... I ask for no cilantro every time and it's a 50/50 chance that they still put it on. Why why why ruin a meal NOBODY ELSE USES CILANTRO ON?!!?

Been going here for years. Food is good. But they put way too many onions in everything. Ask for no onions and still get a ton of onions and then they closed early so I couldn't get the order fixed now I have nothing to eat.

For years now they've always basically never answered the phone so have to drive forever to even see if they're actually.

I have lived near this restaurant for years but have never gone in until recently, and I'm so glad I did! The inside is beautiful, and the service was great! We got there right at 5 when they opened and it was just us. There was only a young guy and an older woman working but you wouldn't know it. The food came out quickly and was fresh and piping hot. In no time the phone was ringing off the hook for to go orders and by the time we left at 630 it was packed. I will definitely be going again!

This restaurant really surprised me. From the outside it looks old and sketchy, but on the inside its very pretty and very nice.
The food was fantastic and made fresh. Our server was very nice and our service was great. They seemed to be very popular as their phone was ringing non stop for pick up orders and people walking in for dine in.
Our server did mention that it was only himself and another person who was running the place, but despite that I enjoyed my time there.
Can't wait to go back!

Went for the first time today for lunch. The customer service was great. I ordered the yellow curry chicken and it was delicious. Loved that they had a 1-10 scale of heat you could choose from. My food was fantastic and so fast. Definitely will return!

Look elsewhere.

Appetizers of egg rolls took way too long. A table that ordered the same thing after us got theirs first as well as other tables that ordered after us received entrees before we received our egg rolls. While they were piping hot they tasted frozen/premade and were hard.

I ordered the Ginger Fish with a spice level of 6. The dish came out (late) piping hot. There was so much ginger, what looked like cilantro, and onions/peppers that was so pungent that I ended up picking out the fish until I couldn't take the aroma any longer. I might have eaten 5% of what was on the plate and didn't touch the rest.

Service wasn't good, a 65 (ish) year old woman that wasn't engaging to customers, a 12 year old boy, 10 year old girl were working the front of the house, and a man from the kitchen dropped off the wine order to our table.

My girlfriend ordered the pineapple fried rice and enjoyed it very much.

Went to this place for the first time in a long time and the food was absolutely excellent. I selected the red curry with beef at a spice of about five and that was plenty spicy for me.
Also had the Bankok dumplings, and all just had wonderful flavor. Well there were very few dining in tables taken there was a huge takeout constantly as the phone was ringing every couple minutes.
It was fun to watch this family operation with everyone involved in making things run smoothly.

I have been going to Thai Orchids since 2015 and it hasn’t changed a bit! Some of my favorites I recommend are Broccoli noodle, the yellow chicken curry, and their chicken coconut soup!

This is the nice establishment. They have lots on the menu. For sure you can find something you like. There were not many people there so our food came quickly. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Service was good and the establishment nice and clean.

Save yourself a disappointment and some money and go try some of the other Thai places in Omaha. I ordered the Thai fried rice and Pad see ew (broccoli noodle), both were not good to say the least. The flavor is bland and doesn’t taste like anything I’ve ever ordered when eating Thai. I got these 2 meals and veggie balls for $35, definitely regretted spending that on terrible food. Both Rice Noodle Thai and Mercy Thai are 10 notches above this place and in close proximity to the area. The veggie balls were the best part of the order.

Pineapple Red Curry with veggies and tofu is my absolute favorite here. I love the crinkle cut carrots (it is little things like this that make this place very special)! The food is consistently delicious and the service is fast and friendly. Love it! Highly recommended!

Doesn't look like they are doing done in yet, but take out is quick easy. Walked in and ordered 3 entrees and a appetizer and had our food in about 10 minutes. Dinner sized portions are about 2 servings and the flavor is amazing. All of their spicy foods come in 10 levels. I got a 7, which was a good amount of spice, could've used more for the level of spice. Got the Thai red curry with chicken, Thai yellow curry with chicken, and the yellow curry spring rolls.

Service was passable (not as friendly as other places).
They included a fork in the bag and napkins but the sauce had poured out into the bag so it wasn't useable. Had to wait to go home to eat it.

My meal was large and came with a fried yam thing and egg roll.

Excellent food and service as always. If you're not good with spicy food, I recommend staying below a 4 on their scale...they don't play around when it comes to heat!

Edit: Had to make it 5 star because I eat here so much. Definitely in my top 3 Thai places in Omaha. Sometimes the service can be a little odd, but once you know the staff it's all part of the charm of the place. I've probably eaten here 3 dozen times in the past 2 years. If you're not sure what to get, order the Thai Orchid noodles.

So I'm going to start with a negative, however it's the only negative, after being seated for approximately 2 minutes we're asked by the same person that sat us if we're ready to order, not a good move, from here though our experience with this restaurant soared, the decor is entirely appropriate and in great condition, the staff were extremely knowledgeable regarding their products, the food itself was refreshingly fresh and full of flavour, one of the most authentic Thai restaurants outside of Thailand, the menu was not extensive and it stayed true to their culture, there was nothing remotely Americanised on there, this is great Thai food at a fantastic price and anyone wanting to try Thai food needs to come here.

Beautiful restaurant, large portions and really tasty food

The spring rolls were very good. The lemongrass chicken was fair but it was more like lemon sticks in it. They literally were like wood. The hot and sour soup was disgusting. It smelled and tasted like old dog food. No one at the table liked it. I will never go back.

Update: Posted hours for Saturday are 11a-2p and 5p-9p. We got there at 1:40p and planning to get a take out but it was already closed. I got 0 tolerance for any business that do not respect customer’s time by not accurately posting and following hours of operations. Due to the time wasted going here, we couldn’t make it to Mercy Thai either.

Best papaya salad I’ve tried. Sweet, spicy, savory, sour, crunchy, soft, toasty and a hint of fish sauce. The seafood pad Thai was very good. Very good portions. Service was friendly, calm decor and everything was clean.

I am giving one star strictly only for the food that I have eaten here in the past . Obviously the food was tasty or I wouldn't have returned. I usually get it to go. After the upright disrespect and rudeness we received today, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.... EVER!
Today the manager sat us. Gave us a menu. Didn't offer us any drinks. Meanwhile... Other people were being seated after us. They were receiving drinks, appetizers, some even received their entrees before she ever came back to us just ask what we want to drink. WTH? She came back another 15-20 minutes later to ask our order. Without our drinks! It was absolutely ridiculous... They weren't very busy, the manager seemed like she would rather be anywhere, doing anything besides serving us .. Which is EXACTLY what she did! She was cleaning off tables, refilling waters (while we had nothing to drink), we finally got up and walked out after we had waited at least a half hour without even having a glass of water brought to our table and she was standing in the front gazing at her phone. Worst service EVER!!!

I've only ever been here for lunch as it's pretty close to work. Some of my colleagues refer to it as "slow Thai", but I haven't had too many problems getting in and out when I go around 1:00; especially nothing like some of the one star reviews mention. I'd give the fifth star if the speed of service was more consistent though, because the food is lacking nothing.
I've tried almost all of the curries and they are absolutely fantastic. The flavor is unbelievable. My coworkers say the Pad Thai is very good too, but I haven't tried it. I'm sure that would be a good bet as well.

The food here is always delicious! Worth every penny paid!!! The three stars is just for the food!
The manager is extremely rude. For eg- we said the chicken tastes dry. She couldn’t accept it! When I visited for the second time, I wanted to confirm if there is no kind of meat in the curry to which she yelled!! That’s not how hospitality works!! The manager needs to really work on her attitude!
But I definitely recommend this place just for the food!!

Really good Thai food, unexpected in Omaha but plesantly surprised. Owners kids waiting tables are adorable. Very good food.

The food is delicious but the service is sloooow. Don't go unless you have 1&1/2 - 2 hours . I have eaten here several times and every dish i have tried has been excellent. However it has taken a little over an hour at the best and most times 1& 1/2 - 2 hours. Last visit we arrived at 5 pm with one other couple seated and 3 takeouts waiting. Our drink meal and appetizer order was taken at 5:30 we got water and drinks at 5:45 appetizer at 6:10 and meal at 6:25 paid bill and left 7:07. I would like to eat here more often but don't have the time and I am not sure wife will agree to go anymore with service level.

I have since used takeout several times and gotten a little better 30 min time. I still see and hear from people that the dine in is still sloww with the combination of takeout orders. The staff is small family owened and operated and the food is 5 star and the people are good but appear to be short staffed for amount of business they get. This really is one of the best thai places i have eaten. and the family is nice. One night it appeared that the wife was ill so it was only the cook and a helper trying to do everything and he was overloaded with takeout calls and dine in customers. I love this place I hope they continue and are able to handle business level with some help.

One of my favorite Thai places in the Omaha metro area! I have never been disappointed in anything from here, the staff is great and the menu is large. Can always have something new and so far it's all fantastic!!

Quiet place with good food and minimal wait. The staff was very friendly even after dealing with my children's difficult orders.

My wife and I absolutely LOVE Thai Orchid! I would rate this 10 stars for food if I could. Our favorite dishes are Bangkok Chicken (her) and Southern Thai Chicken (me), but I haven't had a bad dish. I've tried probably 8 different items and have had the southern thai chicken probably 20 times.

The food is superb (seriously), but I deducted a star for service level. If you chose to dine in - being your patience as it may be 10 to 15 minutes before someone takes your order, an another 10 or 15 minutes to get your check when you're done. All in all, I've had 90 minute lunch trips and only spend 20 minutes eating my meal.

If the owner/manager is reading this - please don't take this negatively! I hope this comment can help you improve your service and bring in even more customers.

So in summary - I highly recommend Thai Orchid - but would push you towards carryout rather than dine-in.
