Jutamas has been our go-to restaurant for years and we prefer the downtown location -- much more comfortable. The atmosphere is great because you can actually have a conversation -- the noise level is low. The service people are top-notch and the owner, if you get a chance to visit with him, is delightful. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and my frequent experiences there. Just an add-on after reading some other reviews, I have to counter -- the portion sizes are great! If you don't get enough to eat here, then you are not a healthy person. One reviewer fussed about the lack of alcohol choices. It's true that you cannot get a mixed drink here but they usually have a good selection of wines and beer. And also, if you want a fancy bathroom and mixed drinks, go to any of the numerous chain restaurants around. But if you want authentic Thai food beautifully presented, this is the place.

I had a decadent vegan Pad Thai that was unusually rich, probably the best Pad Thai I've ever eaten. My omnivore husband had an equally lovely meal. The service was spot on, friendly and charming. We will make a point of stopping by anytime we are in Hattisburg.

Attended my best friend’s daughter 16th birthday dinner here. Very dark and dimly lit small restaurant with a intimate atmosphere. Food was delicious but I am sad that there wasn’t a large alcohol selection only beer and wine. We had a party of 9 and they accommodated us just fine. There bathroom is one room and says a sign that says man/lady.

The best pad thai I’ve ever had. Karla made it and it was excellent in every way. Right amount of sweet and spice, the peanuts gave the dish a slight charcoal taste and brought together the complex flavor profile. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life.

The Toong tong dumplings were very crisp and flavorful as well, and so was the very simple yet rich soup of the day.

The inside of the restaurant had this very cozy mid 2000s vibe and the servers Alex and Maxine were very nice and helpful. Maxine was very personable and helped us navigate the menu and made us feel at home.

The owner even came up and greeted us at our table, making sure everything was up to standard.

Incredible food, excellent customer service, and a cozy atmosphere. This is my favorite restaurant in Hattiesburg and it is no surprise that they are rated the number #1 restaurant in TripAdvisor. I wholeheartedly recommend you eat here.

New to Hattisburg and always thrilled to experience Thai cuisine. It is a small little spot with the interior representative to the Asian culture. I went at lunch time and it was fairly busy. I was seated quickly. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and polite. I ordered vegetarian spring rolls and the pumpkin red curry with tofu. I was also given a complimentary bowl of soup. For strict vegetarians or vegans, it is made with chicken broth. The presentation of the food was very nice, organized and appealing to look at. The food was hot and fresh and they cater to your spice level. Portion sizes are good. The spring rolls are served with a sweet sauce. The pumpkin curry had bamboo shoots, sweet peppers and green beans in it. I would have liked to have more pumpkin pieces in it. The food was tasty and I enjoyed the experience. Would definitely come back here to try other options off the menu.

Absolutely fantastic made-from-scratch-when-ordered Thai food! This became one of my favorite places to go instantly. It’s very difficult to find authentic Thai food with a great atmosphere and excellent service and this is the place! If I could give more than five stars I would!

Very upscale and great place to eat. The servers were quite helpful and the restaurant was immaculately clean when I dined with them. I got the Phad Kra Prow with chicken and the Phad Woon Sen with beef and both were amazing! They have an excellent selection but I wish the would add pork belly as an option to the menu. I plan on eating here again soon when I get the time.

Terrible service and rude ownership

Had passed this place many times and finally had time to stop in without other plans. Drove an hour to give them a shot from hearing good reviews…Not in this case. Was seated and made drink orders and app order within the first 5-8 mins in. Server came to top off my drink for the second time (30 mins of waiting after our order was placed) went to ask if our app was almost ready but walked off with no response or acknowledgment of trying to ask a question. We sat in back right corner by the server station/ window and kept waiting and watching for our order and with us only being the 3rd table (first to arrive and order) we were about to walk out but was holding out till we seen couple next to us receive their app then shortly after their course. They had been there for 20 minutes and us rolling up an hour and a half wait. Didn’t say a word to them or nothing said to us. As we’re leaving the lot they come running out looking more irritated than apologetic. Sorry but if you couldn’t bother to talk to us for over an hour waiting patiently as you walk past 15+ times and directly looking at us then I do not care to stop and spend $60+ at your chain.

Extremely disappointing! We came in at 12:40 they were slightly busy for lunch. We put in our appetizer and little bit later our entrees. At that point the lunch rush was leaving and we believed we were going to be receiving our appetizer soon. No. It was just us and another table at that point who were just receiving their food. Then another table came in and was sat right beside us. Their app came out and we thought maybe they forgot our app. So we continued to wait for our entrees. The table beside us got their entree before us too. We decided to just leave considering the table next to us got their food within them being there for 20 minutes. We were there for over an hour with no food. We didn’t get no explanation or anybody who came over. It was blatantly obvious that we were sitting there a LONG time with no food. Our drinks were watered down and there were only two other tables in the restaurant.

if you are allergic to fish or avoid it due to ethics do not eat here. there are no options. the first sever told us there was no fish in the curry. we asked a second person just to be safe, and she told us that they are all made with fish.

We found this place online and being from out of town, we decided to give it a try. The service was good but we were taken back by the portion sizes vs the price.

We travel A LOT for work and have eaten at many Thai restaurants across America and they have all been fairly consistent with price and plate size. Of course they all have their unique tastes and atmosphere but here, we ordered fresh salad rolls for example and we got the equivalent of 1/4 roll cut into 6 pieces.

Then we ordered soup for two (large) and the smallest portion for a soup for two I have ever seen came out with soup cups that I think we're designed for Hobbits. LOL! I thought it was a joke at first or maybe there was another bowl of soup coming but nope.

With the Jasmine tea we ordered the bill was north of $30 for the equivalent of getting some very small appetizers. We felt cheated given the high price and small amount of food.

We ran up the street to a nice Vietnamese restaurant and got way more food and salad rolls at a much better price.

If you don't mind paying a high price for very little food, this is your place.

I rarely leave bad reviews - but I did try to talk with them first. Ordered through Uber eats, arrived really quickly, no idea how it tastes as they included no utensils. I ordered soup, green curry, spring roll.
How do you eat soup without a spoon?
I did call the restaurant directly before reviewing. I did not want a refund or anything - just wanted to tell them instead of leaving a review.
The person who answered the phone just said she didn’t really know why they didn’t put a napkin, spoon, chopsticks and gave me the most insincere ‘sorry’ - Totally unapologetic.
It would have been fine if they had seemed the least bit interested.

I love the Thai fried rice and the Thai Chicken is great!

I will not recommend this restaurant. I order three dishes, papaya salad is good and fair, but the other two dishes, duck curry and fried eggplant beef are not worth for the prices I paid. Totally, they cost $64, I even paid additional $10 tips for to-go only, but other than a beautiful decor, the price and meal are way under my expectation. The rice, the most important part for Thai food, is not even cooked well. Very disappointed!

The food here is supremely delicious and well prepared. The experience is like no other in Hattiesburg, and the quality of the meals are completely unmatched. There is just simply no better place to eat a fantastic meal in the entirety of the Hub City than here.

This is an awesome place to eat…an element of fine dining yet comfortably casual, all without breaking the pocketbook. Food quality is top notch!

The place to go for Thai food.

The only thai about this restaurant is their ambience and menu. Beside that it's just chinese flavor food that looks lthai. I gave them two star because of their decor.

This restaurant is perfect for me and my mom, because it is not too fancy for us to feel comfortable. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch. Food was not spicy enough, even though I ordered extra spicy, but still had a wonderful flavor. Will certainly go back.

I’m so sad to write this review. I love the food here but I called in an order and looked at the prices on the website and apparently the website prices are wayyy off. I’m sick and my husband went to pick up the food for us. To my surprise when he brought the bill home, it was way off than what it should’ve been. I called and the lady I spoke to said that it happens a lot and they need to update the website. After doing some research, I found two websites for Jutamas. Take the other website down! This is false advertising! I paid $30 more than I was expecting. This is not okay.

I always visit Jutamas about once or twice a month. You can never go wrong with the spicy noodles add shrimp and a spring roll. The food is always hot and tasty. Best Thi food in Hattiesburg.

Probably the classiest restaurant in Hattiesburg. But you must like Thai food - it is spicy. My favorite is the Mussaman Curry. (Many Thai restaurants do not have it.) The meat is very good quality (not that rubbery stuff you find at Chinese restaurants.) The portions seem small at first. But because of the spiciness, you will get full quickly.

My 9 year old son “the service was fast and excellent. The chicken Phad Thai was spot on delicious.” We highly recommend stopping in for lunch or supper. We visit Jutamas every time we travel through Hattiesburg. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!

Coming from seattle and after trying pad Thai and pad see ew here I can say this place is the worse Thai food I’ve had unfortunately. The pad Thai taste like ketchup and noodles and the pad see ew noodles aren’t the ones that most places use. The flavor is off, the pad Thai tasted better and the other Jutamas at least

Went for date night, was the first time we’d been here. Our order took FOREVER to come out and my husband’s food was brought out at least 15 minutes before mine. I can understand it taking a while if the restaurant was busy, but they were just pumping out Uber eats (or grub hub or whatever) orders before those of us inside… we saw the same guy pick up to-go orders 5 times in the 2 hours it took for us to get out of there. Food was just okay, beverage selection… okay… service was not great and watching delivery food come and go was frustrating.

In Laurel for the weekend and not a lot of restaurants open on Sunday, so we drove into Hattiesburg. The reviews were wonderful, so we decided to try it. The food was okay, the sauce on the Pad Thai was different than we had ever had, red and we didn’t order Thai hot, wasn’t impressed, but we ate it. When we arrived, I heard another customer tell the waitress that there was no toilet paper in the one and only restroom before she left. When we were done eating, I got up to go use the restroom and noted the huge Dead Cockroach (pictured) on the floor under a table across from us…… Gross!!! But when I got into the bathroom, still no toilet paper… The lady that had told them earlier, had been gone, a good 40 minutes!! Sorry, we won’t be back….

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Hattiesburg! The staff remembers you and are very pleasant. The massaman curry is incredible. The Pad Thai is delicious. The drunken noodles are perfection, and the mango sticky rice hits the spot. This has to be on your list if you come to Hattie!

I'm a First timer: James did a great job explaining everything and making suggestions. Had the Green Curry Gang Keaw Wan (pic 2), and Tom Ka Gai soup (pic 1,3). Medium spicy is perfect for a kick, but you can taste everything. I'll probably get spicier next time. Only complaints music too loud and five shrimp would have been better than four.

This would have been a five but Lori made us feel very rushed by looking at her watch as soon as we walked in the door and made comments that we heard about us coming in 30 minutes before closing. We were passing through and saw it on trip advisor as the top #1 place to eat. Food was great but atmosphere needs to be a little better. The guy serving us was very nice but she was the one to give us our ticket since she was in such a hurry to get us out the door.

Ordered the pumpkin curry with tofu. Both the curry and the jasmine rice were delicious. The curry had green Thai heirloom pumpkin that was the star of the dish…excellent flavor. The servers were friendly and I felt welcome. For dessert I had the coconut sticky rice with mango. It was a delight.

Staff was very accommodating and the ambiance was very upscale especially considering entree prices. Note most curries are not kosher (shrimp paste).

I was so pleasantly surprised how wonderful thai food is and the curry was over the top delicious, our server went above and beyond to aid us and very attentive. Our hostess brought out small dishes of the curry sauces so we could taste them, hard to choose, all were great.

Had been wanting to try thai food for along time, our appetizers were thai satay.w peanut sauce...fried wontons.w sweet n sour sauce..fresh rolls w peanut sauce.they were soooo fresh and delicious. I ordered red curry seafood dish called fang yang? My nephews orded duck curry with a milder sauce.( I cant recall the name of it).my neice thai fried rice, I loved hers, but mine was so delicious and creamy with just the right amount of spice and who doesn't love jasmine rice, will definitely be going back , also our server was the best!! He pampered us and talked with us about flavors, very knowledgeable. Theallowed to have a tasting of the curry sauces before ordering, since we hadn't had curry before

A good place with thai authentic meals the restraunt is open at 9 am every day and does do online orders which includes ubereats and door dash stop in or get it delivered the waiters and waitress are really good at what they do so stop by get a meal it's heavily expensive but worth the buck if ya got they are open seven days a week on ninety eight and Timothy Lane so check it out

Ordered 2 beers and both were warm. Ordered appetizers and were brought wrong ones. Ordered soup and was brought wrong size. Food was good but service was lacking, restaurant was pretty hot inside. Paid $75 for 3 of us to eat dinner. Too pricey for so many negative s.
