Krungthep Thai is a Thai restaurant that opened in Saint Paul in August 2018. We offer a wide variety of Thai dishes, including noodle soups, stir-fries, and salads. Our Last DINE-IN seating is 7:30pm. Last TO-GO order is 7:45pm.
I was traveling through and came across this restaurant. The food was fantastic! Service was nice and friendly. Portion size was amazing I was so full after. The best part was the homemade egg rolls you gotta try them if nothing else!!
Great place to stop by for a taste of Thai food. If you like asian cuisine, I highly recommend Krungthep Thai. Menu is very diverse and allows for a new experience of the same dish with each visit. You like Fried Rice? There's 6 types for you to explore and rediscover why you like it. Service is top notch, with attentive servers and almost no wait time on the meals. Atmosphere is very bright and spacious, allowing you to get a sense of what a restaurant should be like. You won't regret it, stop by.
I live in the Houston Texas area, so you might think it's weird for me to give a review over a company so far away. I was watching a TikTok video where Somebody ordered 20 bowls of rice to get out to the homeless when he got to the register. The manager refused to accept any kind of payment And said that it was taken care of by the restaurant. From what I can see, this is a family owned restaurant and I love their family values. If I ever get a chance to visit I would definitely eat here because this is the kind of company that supports the community at large. Thank you for having such a big heart and caring about those who are less fortunate.
This was our first visit to the restaurant, and we were very happy with our lunch selections. The portion sizes were large and the prices were modest. We had the Pineapple Curry ($10.95) and Cashew Nut with Chicken ($13.95). We were given a very large bowl of rice along with our entrees. Overall, a great selection if you are in the mood for Thai food.
The restaurant overall was very clean. I was nicely greeted upon arrival and seated right away. They had a large selection of food on the menu. The food was very tasty and good. The price were reasonable for the quantity given. They also offer happy hour during the week days between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm which is pretty cool because a lot of Asian restaurants dont usually have happy hour.
Got about 8 different items and the food was just amazing. Papaya salad was refreshing, shrimp Laab was phenomenal, and the Pad See Ew was the best. Love coming here where getting food doesn’t break the bank, and I can feed multiple people!
Stopped for dinner. Got two different noodle dishes. The pad se ew was excellent! Some of the best I’ve ever had. Lots of protein and vegetable, which isn’t usually the case. The other dish, flat noodle with basil, was a little on the bland side for our taste but still high quality. The space is bright and clean. Service was lightning fast. Will definitely be back.
Four of us dined in around 6:00pm. When we first arrived, it was quite busy but we were quickly seated in a nice booth. We ordered beverages which were delivered quickly. We ordered appetizers and meals which were all delivered in a timely manner and were delicious. Everything was flavorful and fresh. Be mindful of spice level as mild is still spicy. We like spice but would not enjoy any level here above mild.
Much Love from YouTube 🙏🙏
Beautiful people, delicious food!
Exquisite fried rice. Super polite and friendly manager. Delicious food, good time. Must visit.
If you are hankering for excellent authentic Thai food, but aren’t up for a 14 hour flight to Thailand, you should head out to Krungthep Thai restaurant conveniently located in St Paul on Rice St just off Maryland Ave.
Krungthep serves up wonderful authentic Thai food, loaded with plenty of fresh spices, protein and veggies. Their menu and recipes are similar to their parent restaurant Bangkok Thai Deli on University, in a more relaxed, upscale setting.
There aren’t many Thai places that use such fresh, high quality ingredients and Thai spices. I’ve been all over the US at Thai places that are stingy but OK, Krungthep is completely in another class. It’s like fine dining in Thailand. From the flavors of little Thai eggplants to young green peppercorns, to fresh lemongrass and Thai chilis, Krungthep offers the authentic Thai taste you are likely missing at other places. The spices are there and they can adjust the spicy heat as you like, from mild to super hot (M++). Watch out for the Thai salads though, they are always one step hotter than you’d think!
We’ve been dining at Krungthep enough to have favorites; their fresh spring rolls are the gold standard, as is their outstanding Roasted Duck Curry (M+ spicy heat for me, lots of roast duck, fresh Thai basil, tomatoes, Thai eggplant, green pepper and kaffir lime leaf, in a creamy curry broth, I have them leave out the pineapple to fine tune it), Pad Woon Sen cellophane noodles, Tom Yum soup, Shrimp in Lemongrass salad (fine sliced lemongrass, shallots, green onion, mint, cilantro, cashews… Amazing!), and their Garlic Stir Fried veggies (simple, but WOW!). ANd we’re always discovering something new in their extensive menu, at our last visit we noticed fabulous smells from another table, so we ordered the Sizzling Steak and Papaya Salad. Really really nice steak sizzler plate with seared veggies on the side absorbing the steak juices, delish!
Enough said, it’s GREAT Thai food with an extensive menu. You’ll find something to please, for sure.
They’re closed on Tuesday.
Great food, family owned restaurant
Great food and associates who support their local homeless/hungry population. Highly recommend 🙏🏻

I haven't been there but the awesome staff donated 20 plates of delicious-looking food with egg rolls to their local homeless community. Please support these people.
soooo goood!!
I was traveling through and came across this restaurant. The food was fantastic! Service was nice and friendly. Portion size was amazing I was so full after. The best part was the homemade egg rolls you gotta try them if nothing else!!
This place feeds the community !!!
The food is amazing. However every time we go there the service is very bad
The staff treats you like they are paying you to eat. Probably we will stop going there.
Got about 8 different items and the food was just amazing. Papaya salad was refreshing, shrimp Laab was phenomenal, and the Pad See Ew was the best. Love coming here where getting food doesn’t break the bank, and I can feed multiple people!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Went with a group of 6 for lunch on a Monday. Had the fried egg rolls, the spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, green curry, pho and fried rice. Everyone loved their food. Can't wait to go back.
Great food! Decent service. Quiet atmosphere. Good for larger groups.
The food was excellent!! I loved the Fried Rice with broccoli and veggies and Shrimp. Also, Phô w/ meatballs, simple and full of flavor! Springrolls, to die for! It was all very good. Very nice and clean inside. Definitely this neighborhoods hidden secret. My wife and I both loved it! We will be back, hopefully ery soon!
Great food and staff!
I ordered the Seafood Pad-Cha and I was amazed at how fresh and flavorful my food was. The best Thai food I have had!
Fancy place with below average food.

Great food, amazing service, great prices, clean and inviting. Nothing but good things to say about this place!!
Very good! My favorite Thai restaurant and I can take my gluten intolerant spouse with me 😊. Today I took the whole family and dined in. Everything was wonderful!
I’m Thai, and the only place I’d get Thai food is this place. I live in Minneapolis. It’s worth the drive. They have so many options for meals like I’m in Thailand compared to food options from other Thai restaurants.
They make authentic food. The food comes out very fast too. Nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. A lot of parking available.
Staffs are sweet and friendly. Their food portion is pretty big (I usually can split it into 2-3 meals). Best Thai food around Twin Cities!!
Service was incredibly fast. Decent food. Very filling. Well worth the price.
Turns out the accommodations for making food gluten free for people with intolerances is not possible anymore. I went there and got Pad Thai with pork and asked for it to be gluten free and they brought out Pad Thai with Mock Duck which is pure gluten. I asked them to remake it and to make sure the dish was made without cross contamination. The waiter came back and said that the chef couldn't guarantee he could make the dish cross contamination free and I ended up not eating there. Now that I think about it, my stomach issues recently might have been tied to this restaurant not actually making stuff gluten free. I was a regular and long time customer and now I will not go there anymore. A shame because their food was really good and it was very close by. If you have a gluten intolerance or have celiac disease, stay away.
Today was my first time trying this place and the food was amazing! I came in a little bit before they stopped taking orders and the girl that took my order was extremely sweet and helpful with what to pick, what I ordered tasted exactly how I thought it would ( which is extra important due to pregnancy cravings haha ), my hubby and kids enjoyed what I got them and they threw in an extra fried egg for me for free which was super sweet:) I definitely recommend this place and would for sure come back !
I like it.
Amazing as always! This remains to be the closest we have found to food we experienced in Chiang Mai. Kudos to the ownership for keeping to the traditional tastes. Highly recommend the khao soi, e-san sausage, and kao ka moo.
My wife doesn’t want me to write this review because she doesn’t want anybody else to find out about this amazing place. Our pad Thai and cream cheese wontons came up very quickly and were simply amazing.
Everyone on staff are super friendly and very helpful.
Totally worth the trip
My girlfriend and I eat here frequently on Saturdays and love everything about it. Love the food, love the employees, and absolutely love the decor and atmosphere.
good food, good service, i love the Lemon grass salad with shrimp, amazing!
Ordered food for take out and was not disappointed! My order was ready much faster than estimated, the spring rolls are huge and probably some of the best I've ever had, ordered my Pad-see-ew spicy and it was perfect. The restaurant itself was very clean, and the staff were very nice.
Comida deliciosa y fresca la papaya sala esta rica y hay más de 50 platillos no necesitas hablar tanto inglés para comer tienen un menú muy especifico
The chicken pad Thai was delicious and although our order was not put in right away, the staff quickly got on it and even gave us complementary drinks. Great place with great staff
Food is good but service is quite bad. Multiple times we've been there with a crowd at the front waiting sometimes for 30 minutes or more (!!) to pick up food or order while staff makes every effort to ignore them. It's sometimes less busy and service is better, but on evenings and weekends it's a gamble.
The real Thai food right here!
Worst Thai food I have ever had.
Great food
A nice atmosphere and tasty food, but the service is terribly uneven. For example, it is not uncommon for the appetizers or rice to be delivered well after the entrees. Or for one of the party to have to wait much longer for their ordered dish. But, I cannot deny it's some of the tastiest Thai food in the Twin Cities.
Great variety of dishes and very reasonably priced. The servings were generous.
My family & I have been going to this place for quite a long time and have a weekly tradition of ordering food. The food is usually always consistent, but more recently we have had to call the restaurant back because they either messed up on an order or just completely forgot an item. In most cases the main manager would refund the item and/or give store credit for next time. However, when we ordered the pad thai there happened to be a dime size piece of egg shell that I bit into. When I called to request a refund, the manager (Sul) said that they would not give a refund, because he considered biting into an eggshell not a worthy enough cause for a refund of the pad thai.
The food is really good, my favorite restaurant in saint paul 🤓
Loved their pad Thai, pad see ew, boat noodles and so much more.
If you're looking for an authentic thai restaurant, this is the one to go to. The food was great, I got the pad kra pao (spicy), and it was spot on very delicious spice level was perfection to my likings and would definitely visit again. 10/10 rating
The location is hella ghetto but the restaurant itself is actually nice inside out, pad Thai was hood good
Absolutely love this place, food is always Devine and on point. The amount of flavor and spice is so perfectly executed. Sulaiman, was my sever with his amazing attitude and positivity, I had an all around amazing experience, you need more people like him on your team. Thank you again
Hands down the most consistent Thai place in town. The menu may be ridiculously large, but somehow they seem to always do well by it.
My family has ordered from Krungthep Thai many times and we love their food! I've never eaten inside the restaurant but they have been our go-to Thai place for a couple of years.
My favorite Thai place in the Twin Cities, Krugthep's food is consistently hot, spicy and flavorful with the freshest ingredients used. They actually take me seriously when I tell them I like my food spicy!
I always go here for lunch with my coworkers and they're always really fast and I have not been disappointed by the food yet. :) It's always been very good and the portion sizes are great.
Excellent, authentic Thai family food
Love love love! I'm only giving this a 4 star for atmosphere because the handicap door outside was broken, but overall this place and the food was bomb. Try their khao soy and khao piek.
Food was good and came out relatively quick but some were missing, so we had to request for them to bring out the side dish for pho and rice that came with entrees.
Servers were not great… the person who took our order was thorough so I appreciated that, but there were a few things that were just terrible! A waitress hit someone that was sitting at my table so hard in the head with a plate of food when running by that the person couldn’t respond to them for 15-30 secs because they were still in shock. She didn’t even apologize and just asked if she was okay (in an uncaring manner). The waitress was in an unnecessary rush that caused an accident. Then while I was eating with utensils in hand, a waiter brought out food and just held it inches from my face for at least 10 secs, I looked at him and asked “are you going to put it down?” The table was clear so it doesn’t make sense that he wouldn’t just put it down.
To sum it up, their front end workers need training. They’re unsafe and extremely rude.
Best Thai I've had in the Twin Cities period. They don't mess around with the spice levels, if you like really spicy like me, this is it. Food is fresh and hot when we get home with takeout even though we live 20 minutes from the restaurant. We've quickly become regulars and are addicted now, we order at least twice a week when we can afford to!
We are from Vancouver Canada and stumbled upon this gem after dropping off a package at a nearby UPS drop off point. The food was very quick to come out and very tastey! The staff was sooooo nice when taking our order and making suggestions to try. We got there pretty late (45mins to closing) and we had to Uber back to our hotel. Unfortunately Uber was super busy and there was a snow storm, so the staff let us sit inside to wait until our ride arrived. We watched them clean top to bottom!! (Super good cleaning routine in here). We are so thankful they were so kind to let us sit and wait. Thank you soooo much everyone for such a nice experience during our stay in MN! To the owner: you have AMAZING staff.
The is my go-to Thai joint in MN! The food is authentic and taste amazing. The duck curry is to die for. The Tom Yum soup is also amazing!
Best Thai food in the area. Papaya salad, all curries, chicken satay... delicious. Great people too. Beautiful restaurant.
The food is very good, the staff super friendly, and the vibe is very chill.
I’ll be back for sure, many more times.
Also, if you like food that’s actually spicy, they have some fabulous choices here.
Great food and service!
Helpful staff, very clean and bright environment, and amazing food.

It was my first time ordering here, and the nam tok was fantastic and I highly recommend it! Moreover, I ordered the boat noodles. The soup was flavorful, but I really wish they had included a little bit more meat! 4.5/5
Excellent Thai restaurant, huge menu. Attentive wait staff. Lunch or dinner.
I love their thai tea the most and their cheesecake so delicious there appetizers are more what I go for since there's not a whole lot of options for non seafood items but the waitstaff are so friendly and kind
Great place for authentic Thai food. Will return again soon!
The food was okay but not the pho. Unfortunately disappointed in their pho and not a lot of condiments and veggies for the pho. The service was not too good. Serve came to get our order but never came back to check on us. Getting rung up at the end was confusing as they did not charge us all of our items and I don’t why they didn’t, they stopped us before we left demanding we didn’t pay for our entire bill which we thought we did. Although the people there are very nice. The place is nice and large, especially if you have a large family. Other menu foods are good though and other portions are good as well. Don’t mind we got charged the courtesy of %15 but just not worth with service and some food quality.
Number n25 and n26 1/22/23 they put sugar and msg a lot in there I’m not happy about that. Next time yall better do a good job next time
Food was amazing.
Service was decent. Wished they would of asked if we needed boxes and brought the check to the table.
Will definitely be going again.
Great Thai spot. All the flavors were on point. Chicken in soup was little dry but everything else was perfect and priced well .
One of the best boat noodle pho in town!
Absolutely the best Pad See Ew!
Very pleasant meal, good service and great flavored food.
Best authentic thai place! My husband and I love the pad kra pow with the fried egg. He loves the fried tilapia with red curry.
Close bit too early
Always good food
Good Thai.
Wow are their spring rolls and Tom Yum ever good!
Very good chicken stir fry.
Green curry always hits the spot, tried more things today and was not disappointed. B
I loved eating here but they changed the menu, resulting in my favorite meal being removed. Bring back fettuccine curry please!
Hands down, one of the Thai restaurants in The Midwest. You can’t go wrong ordering anything off the menu literally. I’ve tried something new every-time but I do get Pad Thai shrimp as usual.
Pretty good food. I'd go back again.
The food are delicious and the prices are ok, my family went there couple times and some time I take friend for meeting there as well, but the issue is customer service is very bad, we order 1 fish dish and they brought us 2 order, we said we only order one, but they didn't want to take it back, acused us that we did place an order of 2, so we just looking at each and end up pay for 2 with a surprise prices, we know we did not order 2, no refill on water, never check on us, always mixed up with our bill. I don't know if I want to go back to this place even the food are good.
My friend Gia and I had lunch here on a Wednesday at 12:30, very quiet. We were seated right away. They took our order and the food came out fairly quick. Gia recommended the Beef Boat Noodles so I ordered it and was not disappointed at all. 10/10- flavorful, didn't need to add anything but the chilli powder and some pickled jalapeños. The stuffed chicken wings were just okay. The stuffing was a little bland in my opinion, and the outside was coated with panko or something so it was a little crispy but the skin was kind of soggy. 5/10. They do have a pretty big menu so i would go back to try other dishes. Gave a 4 star only because they didn't come back to check on us, had to wave someone down to get water after about 45 min.
Best place around for Thai food!
This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a chance.
I ordered the special pho, papaya salad, kawpoon and salted shrimp and squid. First, the pho broth had no taste, it was plain and tasted like water. We had to add various sauces, pastes and ingredients to finally make it taste decent. The pho broth was packed with the shrimp and meat in it so it became soggy and completely inedible. Second, the papaya salad was overwhelmed with crab paste/sauce, and tasted bitter and too salty. Third, the kawpoon had the same issue as the pho. Plain and no taste. The consistency of the broth was watery and didn't resemble any curry or coconut milk taste. Lastly, the food is overpriced, considering the quality AND quantity of the food. I paid $15-16 for the salted shrimp and squid and received 4 pieces of each (small size shrimp and squid).
Unfortunately, I regret giving this restaurant a chance. I wasted so much money. The effort in the quality of food was very disappointing. Most of the food was inedible and poorly made. This is the first and last time I will be ordering from this restaurant.
Service is nice, food is very tasty. This is my first time. Not disappointed.
Waiting too long for them to come get my order and they forgot to make me my Thai ice tea too! Not good customer service at all!
A huge menu with excellent food
I recall their dine-in boat noodle was remarkable. I emphasize ‘dine-in’ because I’ve DD’d the same dish before and it wasn’t the same.
I drove all the way from Duluth for this Thai food and it didn't disappoint!!
Some nice delicious foods
Great Thai, and other Asian foods. Friendly staff, and good prices.
1 STAR FOR THIS RESTAURANT
Poor customer service and wait too long to get the foods
The food was very good and the prices were reasonable, the issue with this restaurant is the very poor service. We ordered appetizers that came out with our meal. Then no one ever checked on us again. No refill of drinks, no one checking on how was the food. We wanted ice coffee and had to go to the counter to order it. Then we needed boxes for our leftovers, again we had to go to the counter to ask for it. I would order takeout from here but I will not be back for a sit down meal.
Fast service friendly people. The food was awesome. I asked for a super spicy and that's exactly when I got. I highly recommend this place
La comida está súper deliciosa atención de 5 estrellas espero volver pronto
great food great service
The best Pad Thai! And also Green Curry with shrimp was unbelievable ⭐
Please exotic thai restaurant I ve seen in the USA !!! Hands down!
Pho was kinda plain and barely a meat on the pho. Got the combination. The place looked nice and clean.
Ok place to eat for some Thailand food. But they price is to high for the food here. They people work here is nice. The place look nice to. I bring my friend to eat here today. It is ok.
I've gotten take out multiple times from here and their curry is always good. 👌
Small portions for the price they charge. Nothing really special about this place other than the decor. The food is like any other Thai place, there is no special recipe here. The neighborhood is not that safe to park your car on the street, because they really don't have a parking lot for their customers.
We were in the area a while ago, looking for a good place to eat. This seemed like a cool place, so we stopped here an hour and a half before close. I liked how not only how friendly they were, but how they let us take our time ordering. Of course the stir fried veggies with mock duck really hit the spot. The mock duck and veggies were just tender enough that I pretty much was able to have half of my meal. I really wanted to have the rest when I got home, maybe as a snack. I am excited about coming back here, especially since the portions are generous especially since it really was affordable.
Honest review:
The service was decent. The flow of the food coming out of the kitchen was eehh.
The dishes that we ordered was not as flavorful. Each entree continued to disappoint after each bite. I tried to give the benefit of doubt that maybe the main chef was out today.
However, the one thing that no one should really mess up on should be fried rice and pad thai. But, this restaurant did. The fried rice was overpowering than padthai.
The Fried rice had curry powder in it, which is fine, but not when the flavor of the curry was dry-tossed and not well mixed in. Yes, there is a difference in taste between dry tossed and slightly heated curry powder.
Normal Pad thai dishes are simple, consistenting of eggs, oil, cilantro, scallions, meat, sugar, salt, fish sauce, tamarind sauce, and rice noodles. The pad thai here was disappointing. The noodles was drenched oil, not stir fried. The flavor of the padthai was not sweet nor sour it was just dull.
Thai food and Thai Fusion food should have the flavors that celebrates the dishes together. Not overpower each other or have nothing at all.
If you are looking for thai food, i do not recommend this place.
Truly disappointing. Onto the next!
First time eating here earlier. Food was decent. Can't complain much. But they missed two of our food orders and we had to keep reminding them, at least 3 times.
Neat little place. The staff was kind as I was waiting for my guest and helped me navigate the menu (I'm not super familiar with Thai food). I tried the basic Pad Thai with Pork and it was worth it. Portions are just above what I can finish in one sitting, so there is enough for a mid-sized snack later.
Really great Thai food here. It is great both as dine in or take out. The menu is large, but we have loved everything we have tried here. Still lots more to try.
Overall their food is not to bad. Some dishes needs to be better. The dishes are not consistent. It just seems like they rushed it just so the can get the orders out. All the dishes needs to be cook the same every single time.
Their pho is a waste of money.
Lastly, they make us pay a tip fee. If it's a force tip. It's no longer a tip. It's a fee.
The food is decent and good. The servers really need to work on their manners, nobody should have to wait 1 hour to get their food. The table that came after us got their food first and we still had to wait for ours for like an hour.
Everything else is good but skip (all) pho. Wife love curry and Tom YUM.
If you love Thai food, you gotta be here. Many varieties of dishes to choose from, great friendly staff, place is clean, clean bathrooms, and food is great. Only thing I would complain is NO parking space only side streets so carpool...
