The thai food here is delicious and authentic. The people who work there have exceptional service. Although it is a food truck, they made sure to check on us, that everything was good, and we had what we needed. We got pad thai and tom kha. Both were great and it will probably be my new go to thai place. I also like that their spicy levels go from none to as spicy as you want. We got mild and it was literally perfect for us- just a hint of spice. Def check it out!
Edit: Knocking down to 1. Please don’t offer vegan options on your menu in this case if you are unfamiliar with preparing them. I’ve had plenty of vegan Asian food that has been delicious sans eggs (traditionally made with eggs as well). Vegan food can still taste good without eggs and unfortunately this missed the mark in both texture and flavor.
Ordered the pad woon sen and pad thai (both with tofu) and both dishes were unfortunately lackluster. Tofu was bland (and sparse) and tasted like it was just tossed in at the end rather than cooked with the food. Noodles for both dishes were mushy and stuck together. Will say they were efficient with preparing the order so that was a plus! Another plus is their options for selecting dietary restrictions when ordering. Don’t think I’d try anything else as both dishes were not satisfying in flavor.
Great local gem in Austin. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the entire menu. Very authentic tasting Thai dishes. Would recommend highly and would definitely return. Only downfall was mango sticky rice wasn’t in season!!
This truck is in such a nice food truck park! I ordered the chicken pad Thai. You can choose the protein and spice level. The owner recommended going for the mild option, and I’m glad I listened. I enjoy spicy food but also deal with acid reflux, so I thought mild was the perfect amount of spicy. The only thing that was missing was the cilantro. Overall, it was one of the better pad Thai’s I’ve tried.
I was just reminded that the Tom Yum is my fave in town! The broth is sooo flavorful, full of fresh veggies and this time I got it with shrimp which was delicious! The wife and husband team knocks it out! 🥳🥳
Best Thai food I've had in Texas. I had the pad Thai, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice and basil fried rice. Pad Thai and pineapple fried rice are the best.
Tom yum is also good
I'm not from austin and came here with a friend who told me it was good. BUT this place whack. pile of mush. I seriously dont understand why people go here. Friend told me its not as good since owners changed but man i dont know if thats a big of excuse
I was just reminded that the Tom Yum is my fave in town! The broth is sooo flavorful, full of fresh veggies and this time I got it with shrimp which was delicious! The wife and husband team knocks it out! 🥳🥳
The best panang curry I’ve ever tried hands down!

Love Wat Zab. Best Pad Kee Mao in Austin IMO. Super friendly too.
Delicious food. Absolutely great customer service. Definitely a stand out for Thai food.
Delicious food and wonderful people! I can’t recommend this place enough.
Great flavors and nice people! Better Thai takeout than most restaurants. Food is packed well and fresh!

one of the only thai places in austin that will give you truly spicy food when you ask for it. their chili oil is next level too
Amazing food and service 😍 I am happy and will be coming back to try other items 100% recommend!
Not only was the food some of the best Thai I’ve had in ages but the cook was also sooo nice!! 11/10 customer service!
Great local gem in Austin. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the entire menu. Very authentic tasting Thai dishes. Would recommend highly and would definitely return. Only downfall was mango sticky rice wasn’t in season!!
Best Thai food in Austin as far as I'm concerned. I don't know why there's not a line around the corner for this truck.
Pad Thai is really delicious!! Service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Penang curry was delicious with fresh veggies. Kids fried rice was flavorful without being spicy. Good quality & quantity. Will be back again
Update: 10/4 decided to give them another chance and dude was really rude.
I hate to leave a bad review but he closed literally after the guy in front of me ordered and he proceeds to tell me they’re closed.
Horrible customer service, as a first time customer I wanted to speak with someone about what I should order but the guy at the window did not want that. He prompted me to do it online or wait with a sassy attitude. As a food truck owner I would never run off customers that way.
DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM HERE (on the website itself). If you’re going to get food only do it in person. I ordered here today and didn’t receive it so I contacted the restaurant. The person I was talking to was so rude. He kept making excuses and telling me to contact all these different companies and when I would do it he would tell me I was wrong. He refused to give me a refund and then offered to give me a gift card for the food truck after this whole interaction. I had to call my bank to cancel the payment. My friend is a regular customer and even she says she’s never going to return because of the extremely poor customer service. According to her, this has never happened before so maybe it’s just an off day.
I've done takeout or delivery from Wat Zab a few times. The food is really great. They hit the level of spice you ask for so that your kids are happy while you are melting your own face. Flavors, quantities, quality are all there. Excellent.
This place honestly makes some of the best food I have ever had and that is not an exaggeration. The people that run the truck are so kind every single time and they have consistently produced outstanding and delicious results. We usually go for the Pad See Ew and the Panang Curry which are mind-blowingly good every time. They happen to be in the best food truck park in Austin for good reason. We frequent this place and you should too!
Best Thai in Austin! Underrated gem in the heart of Burnet Rd. Highly recommend it. Owner is a great guy. Keeps it real af! Prices are fair and portions are a very good size. Third time trying this place and it never misses!
I always come here a few times a week to get some takeout during my lunch break. A 5 out 5 stars experience each time, the Panang Curry and Pad Thai are my favorites, but you cannot go wrong with the Green Curry either. Goes well with a fresh Thai iced tea too! Shoutout to Jeff for always ensuring his customers are well taken care of.
Very fresh and authentic best Thai I've ever had
Amazing Thai food, probably one of the top spots in Austin. The pineapple fried rice, green curry friend rice, and Panang curry were fresh and rich with flavor. Along with this, the owners were super friendly. Highly recommend
Ok it is edible, but def not 4.7 stars. Disappointing flavor and quality
Wow! I havent even finished my meal yet but needed to leave a review. I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken and medium spice. It's PERFECTLY seasoned and so flavorful. It was ready quickly during lunch on a Tuesday, I'll be back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you!!
Watzab has done it again! They have become one of our go to Thai spots. It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s delicious.
Absolutely love this place! The bacon fried rice is my favorite. The owners are as sweet as the food is delicious. 🌶️
super cute place to eat outdoors! The food is AMAZING, I recommend the pad thai and mango sticky rice :D
Great food, friendly service
Pad Thai was mushy and did not taste at all what you would expect it to be. Was not sweet, salty, sour, spicy as it should be.
Most likely using low quality ingredients , sub par meats , and stale vegetables.
Wack!
Was a bit dissappointed. I think personally there are better Thai places.
I was standing in front of the counter and rather than take my order he took someone elses order who just arrived after me.
That was so rude . I was standing there waiting for him to finish and he knew I was there to order. He even said “Hold on”. And despite acknowledging me, he just took someone else’s order who rolled up after me. I just walked away.Horrible feeling
Place is consistent!! I love the Pad See Ew.
Best green curry in town!
Best Thai food ever! I do not know why there isn't a line halfway around the block as soon as they open.
Was really hoping to try the food here, but was rudely greeted by a man who said in a very crass tone that they were closed due to having a large amount of orders. He barely made eye contact with me and shooed me away with his hands. Instead, he could have apologize and calmly say that they can’t take anymore orders because you could have to wait over an hour. He definitely made me felt like a beggar for free food. Very poor way of doing business.
My favorite Thai in Austin. Basil Fried Rice is ALWAYS good. Great, fast service, and if the folks in your party don't like Thai, there are several other food trucks near.
Always check ahead to make sure they're open!
oh my gahd
I don't know what "Wat Zab" means in Thai lingo, but the food here is delicious. I tried both the Pad See Ew (with chicken) and Pad Woon Sen (with pork). I loved it. They’ll add as much spice as you want.
I also ordered the Mango sticky rice – I like it the better than other Thai restaurants in Austin. I ate one while at the food truck, and ordered another to take home.
Absolutely this place is a NO GO place! Overrated food (probably fake reviews) and zero customer service! It used to be good before changing the owners.
Service is awful, rude and seems like he doesn't want to sell.
Best Thai food I have found in Austin, awesome owner and location too.
Ok. First of all...they answered the phone! I am just old enough that ordering online is not been very successful. Being able to just tell the person what you want means a lot to me. I got the yellow curry and vegetable egg rolls. The food was better than the last five Thai restaurants I have been to and I got enough food for three meals. I would recommend trying this place. I will be back and bring friends. You guys keep up the good work. Cheers!
My roommate and I have eaten from this place at least three times and every time has been absolutely delicious. The flavors are superb. Their bacon fried rice is a favorite for sure.
You can't go wrong with this food truck. It's great food at a very reasonable price. The staff are super friendly and will happily make your dish to order. I wanted the Veggie Lovers but wanted a little more spice -- it was no problem at all. And the food came out quick! We'll definitely be back.
Best Thai in Austin.
BEST Thai food my partner and I have had anywhere (including our visits to Los Angeles, and even including my brother’s home cooking— he used to live in Thailand for awhile and is an excellent cook). The flavors are off-the-hook here, truly fabulous, and the high quality is delightfully consistent. Love this food so much! It’s our go-to Thai food source now. We are really grateful to have found it!! (The owner is great too— personable and helpful, and clearly is passionate about his culinary calling.) HIGHLY recommend!
The horrible online order service, chow something or other, made me go through the whole order process then never let me finalize. HORRIBLE!!!
The BEST Thai food in Austin. I’m pretty loyal to the curry dishes - the portions are generous and always served hot. The people working are always kind. I love this place and am sad whenever they’re closed haha!
I loved this food
Really good thai food I had in a while
A must go place, this is real Thai food, service is great, lots of parking and seating
Great food. But, the guy who makes the food jumped all over me and threatened to cancel my order when I asked how long it would be until it was ready. The guy clearly has spent too much time dealing with the same question. Really loved the food but would never go back. The woman working there is super nice and got me to come back after I had cancelled my order. Such a shame because the food is really good.
Best Food Truck ATX
My favorite Thai place in Austin right now.
The Pad Thai and the curries are all awesome with GREAT serving sizes.
Also super friendly dude always working here!
Most of the food is gluten free, too.
So happy to have found this place - the only Thai place I'll ever go from now on! We have tried several different dishes and none of them have disappointed. The Tom Kha soup is my personal favorite (best one I've ever tasted). Friendly staff and the location is in a cute little food truck park.
Got the yellow curry with tofu and mhhhhh it was delicious! I didn’t get his name but the man working yesterday was super nice and was kind enough to give us free waters, 10/10 place :)
Amazing thai food. Nothing else to say.
Portion size was good and really tasty Thai curries. We’ll be back.
Love love LOVE Wat Zab! Get yourself over to Burnet food truck park. You will leave with a full stomach and a big smile on your face! Amazing hospitality!
Absolutely delicious Thai and friendly people. Our favorite in this area of austin. Super authentic and isn’t greasy like a lot of Thai places. Our family loves it and the service is so kind!
Best Thai food in Austin and best customer service. Recently I tried the fried rice with tofu and Thai iced tea. Delicious. Great portion size and food is piping hot and fresh.
Had a great experience here! Great food and great location. Chef was really accommodating and was able to make everything vegan. Took the Thai fried rice and Panang curry. Both were excellent!
Great selection, delicious food, fast service, and will vary the heat for you! Also, fun little food truck park with picnic tables and umbrellas. Has clean restroom next door. Handicapped accessible.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The Pad See Ew was incredible and they were so friendly and helpful!
Excellent Thai food truck. We’ve tried all their delicious curries. Our go-to is the yellow curry with tofu. Plenty of options for vegetarians. Must visit for an unforgettable Thai food truck experience.
Great pace to pick up Thai on your way home. My favorite is the green curry with chicken.
Holy smokes amazing. Better than Tuk Tuk and they used to be my Mecca for Pad Thai. WOW!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Excellent fresh authentic Thai and really nice people. We will be back!
Tried this because the reviews were very high. Chicken Pad Thai was awesome! So was the Pork Fried Rice!!
My boyfriend and I love eating here. Easily some of the best Thai food around! My personal favorites are the pad see ew and the yellow curry. This is one of the most fragrant, flavorful Thai curries I’ve ever had. Another delicious item is the cheese rolls. So crunchy and creamy! All the food is so fresh and comes out nice and hot. The owners are super nice and will make sure you have a great dining experience. Come give this place a try!!
Delicious pad cashew yummy yum yum
I had the yellow curry with pineapple fried rice here and it was amazing :)
One of the best thai food places in Austin.
Got ton yum soup and basil fried rice! Really good food. They make it spicy if you like that. Feels like home cooked, healthy, and delicious at the same time. The owners are amazing too.
Food was so good. Usually hate eating veggies, but I ate everything to the last noodle. Been to madam maams in wampus and have gotten the pad see ew at both places, but its so much better at wat zab. Workers were so friendly, and food came fast. Please come here and try it you will not regret!
My favorite place to get Thai iced tea!
Best Thai food in Austin!!
Great service and incredibly fresh and flavorful thai food. New favorite spot for sure!
Amazing service and great food. Love coming here for lunch and eating outside. Fast service and consistent quality food.
Wat Zab has incredible dishes. My favorite is the Pad Kee Mao but everything else I’ve had has been delicious. You can always taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients every time I visit. I tend to eat there when I’m looking for a homey meal. Besides that, the service is exceptional.
Yum! I would suggest placing your order before you get there. I got there and there was a 20-30 minute wait. Food was delicious though!
Best pad thai in austin. Hands down.
Had the Thai basil fried rice today really like the flavors just like i have had at many other good thai restaurants, the little sweet chili sauce on the side was not something i expected to be so balanced. Definitely going back again
Favorite food truck!
Consistently delicious and worth the wait! I haven't had a single dish that I did not love. The soups are crave-able and the staff is awesome. So lucky to have y'all in the Rosedale neighborhood!
SUCH great food, pad see ew and pad thai is INCREDIBLE. And they can make the food with tofu!!! Try the food if you're around! We will absolutely be back! So so highly recommended :D
kind and prompt service, generous portions, and mouthwatering food!
Fabulous food. Great service. Hot and fresh. First time for Thai…and will definitely be hitting this truck up again.
Our son had us drive across town for Wat Zab Thai Food. We had a spot closer but he said let’s try it! Well, it was great! Sweet little food truck area. Easy to park. Got a beer at Billy’s and enjoyed some damn good Thai food!! Pad Thai was delicious with shrimp. Our 10 yo loved his Pad Kee with beef. Al in all- great spot!!
Wat zab is affordable and delicious. The ordering system is easy to navigate and my order is ready at a reasonable time. I highly recommend the Pad Kee Mao.
Affordable and excellent Thai food!! I've eaten at many Thai restaurants and this is definitely my new favorite. Jeff is a great guy that runs an honest business, and he deserves all of it!! He made me a regular customer tonight, I'm glad that I stopped by and gave them a try. Come get y'all some!!
(I would have posted a pic of my food but I ate it wayyyy too fast 😂)
Thanks again y'all!!
Their pad kee mao is exceptional. Can’t wait to try other stuff!
I got the panang curry and a Thai iced tea. The iced tea was excellent. The service was friendly and quick. The area has many pleasant places to eat. The curry was fine but not great. The sauce had good flavor but the meat was sparse and boiled-tasting, not flavorful. The veggies were cut too large and a little undercooked. Also, it was served in containers that made it hard to eat - a small styrofoam (any other material would be better) for the rice without room to add the curry. So, I did enjoy it, because the sauce had good flavor, but I wouldn’t get the curry again.
The best curry in Austin!
Stopped by today for my first time and tried the bacon fried rice and i already want more. It's amazing!!! Thank you so much for the great service.
First time ordering Thai food I’m pleased. I ordered the pad noodles also got pork egg rolls and coconut curry. Amazing service, amazing food, must try.
much better than the other thai food restaurent near HEB
Delicious Thai food and the owner and manager were so pleasant and nice to talk to. Very helpful as well! MUST TRY!!
We love this place and go all the time! (they probably recognize us by now lol) They have good service, are quick to get you your food, and it is always good. The Panang curry, pad Thai and veggie rolls are the best! I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Very yummy and great portions! The prices were better than expected. I ordered the spicy panang curry, I should’ve gone one more spicy but it was still a really good spice level. I also ordered the veggie egg rolls. I’m excited to try more!
The service is great as well, very friendly.
The owners here are the nicest people you will meet. They have authentic Thai food and it is amazing. They will help you make choices and offer fantastic suggestions. If you want the best Thai food in town I highly recommend this place.
Fresh ingredients and lots of flavor - great service - will be back
Great flavor, fresh ingredients and friendly, caring service!
Fresh and authentic! One of my favorite go to spots.
The staff gave me a great recommendation to go with the pad kee mao (drunken noodles). Great dish, not overwhelmingly spicy, but I was told I could get it hotter if I wanted. And helpful service. I always appreciate when workers talk with me to find a good dish for me in the moment. I thought the price was good too, $1-2 dollars less than a comparable meal at a brick and mortar place.
I was just visiting town, but made sure to tell my friends to hit this place up. And I will be back when I come to visit again. Give Wat Zab a try.
GREAT pad thai and pad woonsen. Service is 2nd to none and they have the BEST veggie and egg rolls in the entire city. Affordable prices and quick take out make this my go-to Thai spot.
Pad see ew with tofu and pineapple fried rice with chicken were incredibly well done. The texture of the noodles was fantastic. Both dishes had a well-balanced flavor- not too salty or sweet. We had chili oil on the side so we could control the spice level. I can't wait to go back!
Simply the best Thai food in Austin. Don't believe the hype, this blows Thai Kun out of the water, and you're supporting a family business while you're at it.
So amazing! Highly recommend the panang curry
Hands down the best Thai food in Austin. Great people. Basil chicken fried rice some of the best
Super tasty! Nice staff. 10/10
Great food, ever better service! We got basil fried rice and Thai green curry. Both tasted amazing ! Best Thai food I have had in Austin😊
My new favorite neighborhood Thai go to. Delicious with great flavors and spice levels in all the dishes we tried.
Will definitely be back!
Yummy
Decent Thai fare suitable for vegans (they don't use shrimp sauce or fish oil in their curries).
I've been looking for Pad Thai this good since I moved to the area. Wow. And girlfriend got the pineapple fried rice and we both agree it was unique and yet insanely tasty. Veggie egg rolls were also tops. I highly and very highly recommend you try them out.
SO good. The Pad Thai was amazing and the people working here are incredibly kind. Highly recommend.
So delicious and fresh. Highly recommend the red curry. Crazy good. New favorite thai place.
Pineapple fried rice y'all!
One of the best thai place i have ever been.
Great spot! The guy we ordered from was super nice and the pad Thai was amazing. He even brought us our food to the other end of the parking lot while we ordered from another food truck. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!
Exceptional quality food served with courtesy and graciousness. The best of the best.
Easy online ordering, and some of the most delicious Thai food I've ever had. I like the simple, relatively small menu. Better to see that they know how to make a handful of dishes really well
They serve amazing Thai food! I had the Green curry and Thai tea, and they were both yummmm! 🤤
The cashier was a very nice man, warm and welcoming. I am definitely going back there! 😃
Loved EVERYTHING about this place. The cashier was extremely nice and had great recommendations. Our food and drinks were SO good (thai tea, pad thai, and basil fried rice). The food was ready under 10 minutes. Seemed like a cute surrounding area. I’ll be coming back! (: (note: i only leave reviews when a place is extremely good or bad - this place is extremely good!!)
First time ever writing a review because this place soooo deserves it! I have been coming here countless time to the point I think they recognize me and my husband haha. Great pad thai, pad kee mao and pad sew ew, curry is also GREAT. We tried almost every single thai place in Austin and come to a conclusion that Watzab thai has the best seasoning and taste. It is not too sweet or too salty, everything is just perfect amount!
Amazing Thai food! The food was hot and delicious. A beautiful curry with large chop vegetables and chicken. Definitely on the top of list for date night!
great food for the price!
Absolutely delicious! They get it right all the time!
Pineapple fried rice is v good
Solid thai option
Great Thai food, great prices, and the owners are really sweet.
Good Food great prices
Lovely Thai food. I’ll be back.
Hot, made-to-order Thai food. Delicious. The service was friendly, too. We ate at a picnic table (it’s located in a good truck park). The area could use an outdoor heater, but other than that it was pleasant. Fun string lights decorate the eating area.
Had the Tom Kha and pineapple fried rice with Thai tea. So happy to have found this place so close to home!
I LOVE this place. Best Thai in Austin, hands down. Friendly service and delicious, authentic Thai food!
I’ve tried a lot of Thai food in Austin and this is the best. The people are so friendly, the curry and pad kee mao are the right amount of spicy, and both (with tofu) have ample veggies. I only wish it were open on Sundays when it’s all I’m craving...
Super friendly and amazing food every time. Thank you!
This place is awesome! I’ve had the Pad Thai and green curry and it’s the most authentic tasting Thai I’ve had in the US, where many restaurants adapt their flavours to suit the American palette. But the dishes I’ve had so far are as good as the food I enjoyed in Thailand! And very friendly service too. It’ll take a great review for me to try somewhere else for Thai food in Austin.
The best I have had in Austin and somehow also the best price! Staff was very kind and welcoming.
We had Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Veggie Egg Rolls, and Thai Teas. All was great and this will be my Thai food spot from now on.
Delicious food!!
Amazing food! Very authentic! The Tum Yum soup was the best I've had outside Thailand!!! Dont be shy to order a bowl! 😉 The green Curry had amazing flavors!!! Would highly recommend... too bad we're from Canada. Would be coming back again.
Got to the truck 20 min before 8. 8 is when they close. They would not take our order. Extremely bad customer service.
Absolutely delicious. I'm not a food truck person, I prefer a sit down restaurant. However, it's worth it for this place. The best fried tofu I've ever had. Not spongy like at most places. So fresh and delicious, and the people are always so nice.
Excellent place for Thai food!! Highly recommend it!!
yummy!
Got Tom yum on two different occasions and the second time it tasted and looked like marinara sauce. Pineapple fried rice, pad Thai is good, panang curry is ok, Thai tea is yummy, but not sure why I got oregano and tomato chunk soup yesterday Aug 2 around 7pm.
