Straightforward kitchen for hearty plates of Thai staples, including curries & noodles.
I've been to multiple different parts of Thailand a few different times, and my sister-in-law is Thai herself, so I feel like I know a thing or two about Thai cuisine.
This place is not it.
There are simply better options, at the same price point, if you are willing to drive another 15-20 minutes. If you need something in this area that has Thai-adjacent food, then this might be your best option (unless you get Vietnamese a few blocks over).
The Pad Thai is very sweet, has no spice at all, and is almost exclusively noodles. Virtually no meat or vegetables at all.
The egg rolls I had were mushy, which is usually a sign that they were defrosting (badly).
The other time I went I ordered the green curry. It wasn't spicy at all, and I was given normal white rice. No jasmine, no sticky, just regular grocery store rice. It was shameful.
Finally, neither the person who took my order nor the people working in the kitchen were Thai. I'm not sure how this is a local, family-owned, Thai restaurant when nobody working there is Thai. My guess is outside ownership trying to hook people who don't know any better.
While I love their food, ordering from them whether for pickup or delivery is a nightmare. They never have it ready on time. My DoorDash driver always ends up waiting there for like 20-30 minutes and then I feel terrible. Same if I order for myself to go pick it up, I sit there waiting for 30 minutes. Their food is delicious but I swear they don’t even start cooking your food until you show up and ask multiple times how much longer.
I have had lunch here at least three times now, and the food has always been great. I've had potstickers and Curry most of the time, and also had spring rolls a couple times. I have never had a bad meal here! And the waitress has always been wonderful and attentive!! It's a small location, but the food packs a great punch!! I've experienced subpar and even bad Thai food before, but never here!
Josh was a very kind, very personable server and he treated me and my friend very well. Would have tipped more if we could. Food was amazing, very large portions and very tasty. Good spice levels.
Got the lunch special red curry and fried rice both with shrimp, and also tried the chicken satay and the thai egg rolls.
The red curry and fried rice were both good...however the rice was a little over peppered.
The chicken satay and eggs rolls were a little lack luster but they were still alright...peanut sauce was to strong for my taste.
But all in all the food was pretty good...I would definitely try this place again but some different items.
Wontons are delicious. This is probably my favorite place to get curry in the Minneapolis St. Paul area. Great flavor!
One of my favorite Thai spots, best Khao Soi in the city and the Thai beef jerky is the best here!

A hole in the wall type thai restaurant. The pumpkin curry was outstanding and I recommend the kimchi cream cheese wontons. Not very spicy
Omnomnom
One of the real gems of Northeast. Khao Hom is consistently excellent Thai food and the staff are all friendly. Order anything on the menu with confidence (over the years we have tried pretty much everything). Great for both dine in and take out.
Some of our favorites; Pad See Ew, Khao Soi, Massaman Curry, Beef Jerky with sticky rice, Mango Sticky Rice.

Good portion sizes and good prices! Food was delicious
Best Tom Kha in Minneapolis.
Great Pad Thai!
Josh was a very kind, very personable server and he treated me and my friend very well. Would have tipped more if we could. Food was amazing, very large portions and very tasty. Good spice levels.
Amazing food! Panaang was so good! Server was awesome, made the whole experience amazing
I love this restaurant. We regularly order take out and I always enjoy the host who greets us when we go to pickup. The food is excellent. My favorite item off the menu is the Khao Soi. So good!
Great food, friendly staff
Excellent food and wonderful customer service.
Food was really good. Ordered the drunken noodles with kimchi cream cheese wonton. I'd say the drunken noodles were more of drunken vegetables. Definitely filled with more veggies than noodles itself. Also meat portion was a little low. Taste great nonetheless. Just needs to be re-worked. Kimchi wonton definitely was good. Wasn't expecting it taste good but a little deceiving. Was expecting kimchi but the cream cheese had a kick to it that's all. I wouldn't say it taste like kimchi.
Best Thai food take-out in Northeast! Good size portions are sure to fill you up! Never gotten bad food here and the staff is always friendly. Keep up the great work Khao Hom Thai!
Very good curry and Thai beef jerkey
Finally can dine in!!! :) Food was super tasty! Portions were excellent and service was really great and attentive. Paid for $70 for 3 entrees and 2 apps which to me is super fair and still have ton that we took home. Definitely coming back.
This is my go-to Thai place and my favorite in Mpls so far!!!!!
Pad Thai made with ketchup; stunningly, impressively bad
This is my go-to Thai place and my favorite in Mpls so far! Super tasty Khao Soi, Pad See Ew, and I love their kimchi wontons. Always a pleasure to chat with the man who works at the front and I'm excited for them to open their dining space again soon!
I am not sure why they have not reopened the dining room since covid.....??? but I'll tell you what .... the food was exceslant and probably better than the MN standard of Swadee....
They know their Thai food here !
Great food, love the mango sticky rice. Got the level 2 spice on the food and it was much spicer than expected. Other than that tasted good
masaman curry is the best!
This place is AMAZING! We got Mango sticky rice, Thai lobster rolls, Laab, and dumplings and everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I will be returning !!
Service was quick and the dude at the front was really nice, but unfortunately our food was lacking in...flavor. Just...overall flavor. I don't know if these guys use fish sauce in their cooking, is what I'm saying.
We got the curry puffs, and it was like they ran out of filling and just decided to split the remaining filling between 6 puffs instead of making more stuffing. The stuffing itself tastes like it was old and had half the seasoning of other restaurants. They were also over-fried. I normally like a deeper fry, but the deep brown in combo with the lack of filling made for a dry experience.
The pad Thai was very light in color - heads up, it's not the dark pad Thai you typically find in thai restaurants. I asked for a 3 in spice and they gave it to me, so there is that!
The drunken noodle was a little more flavorful, but we still had to crack open the handy dandy sauce cabinet to add some seasoning. Also asked for a 3 in spice on this one but it didn't kick the same as the pad Thai.
The papaya salad was decent, but I wish it came with the thai beef jerky as one dish. That's a personal preference, though - I prefer the Thai beef jerky to the dried shrimp that sometimes come with the salad.
Like I said, the service was great, but we weren't thrilled to have paid $60 for a meal we had to add seasoning to when we got home.
Very good! Take out only. But that’s ok. Pad Thai was phenomenal.
Definitely one of our go-to Thai places. We eat here fairly frequently and are always happy with the food. That said… the service can be extremely slow. The last few times I’ve ordered pick up I’ve shown up about 15 minutes after placing my order and still had to wait 20-25 minutes to get my food. I’ve ordered on grubhub and my driver waited for over 35 minutes to get my order. It’s good food, but maybe not worth the wait if you are hungry or in a hurry
Wow, I got delivery from here, and was very happy. The kimchi wontons are absolutely delicious! The accompanying sauce was very good as well, seemed to have chilli and citrus zest. The Thom yum soup is very good, a little less sour than some other places I'm used to, but still tasty, with plenty of veggies and a subtle spice.
This is my favorite Thai spot currently. All the classics with the best prices and quick service. Takeout only and always ready when I get there. Plus the staff is so friendly. Really delicious. I especially love the kimchi cream cheese wontons
This place has the most delicious pho in the entire twin cities
Great food my only problem is portion for 35$ I’d expect more from them. I try to go every month because the food is great. Too much noodle not enough protein and vegetable. I recommend the lobster egg rolls the sauce is amazing and Drunken Noodles are great just order extra protein and veggie.
Estoy feliz 😊 agradecido
Rocking staff, the people are awesome. Food is good if you've never been to Thailand. Only takeout.
Neighborhood staple. Especially coming from someone who is Lao/Thai. This place is solid.
Delish! I ordered the thom kha soup and pork potstickers. Both were amazing. The potstickers came with two sauces and the green one was awesome. Will be back!
I usually order the yellow crab curry and split it with my wife. Best curry I’ve had. Tried it at another place and it wasn’t nearly as good. All the food is really good.
This restaurant has converted to just take out and I'm here for it. My favorite is the pad see ew.... So flavorful. The mango dessert is fire. I saved mine until the morning for breakfast. It's so good.
Used to be the bomb. Now, not so much
Best thai place in town. Everytime I have friends and don't want to cook I pick up from this place and they pick up everytime they're in the neighborhood. Thom Kha & wings & pumpkin curry - all exquisite. I could go on. Haven't had a bad meal.
Totally inconsistent. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and had ONE piece of pineapple in the entire entree. There was also just one cashew and maybe three or four raisins. I don’t get how you sell pineapple fried rice with no pineapple. I’m taking the time to post this review because this has happened several times and is disappointing when you’re paying for a full priced entree. I only kept going back because they are close to my house and it was convenient but I’m not going to go back again. I’ll go to Jasmine Thai where they don’t short you on pineapples or cashews.
Yum! Wow 👌
Delicious Thai food. Wish they had indoor seating, but its worth it to take it to go! I'm never disappointed!
Expensive for what you get but tasty food.
Great pad Thai, very friendly staff, decently priced. One of my favorite spots around town!
This is my favorite Thai place in MPLS! Always amazing food, reasonably priced and lots of vegan options! The mango sticky rice is insaneeeee!!!
I didn’t realize dine in was closed until I got there and saw the sign. I walked in & stood there to order but no one came to greet me. So I left.
These folks are just not very good cooks. Quality is all over the place, some dishes are pretty good and some are just awful. And their heat level is also totally inconsistent, ordered a dish medium and it came so hot it was barely edible. There are much better places around Minneapolis.
Incredible
Walked up on a Saturday evening for a date and they were take out only. Listing needs to be changed. It was great when I was there a few years ago, but now I can't trust to make plans there.
So far the food I have tried here is great! Today I ordered the crispy Thai lobster rolls and the chicken drunken noodle. The lobster rolls were amazing and I will definitely get those again! The drunken noodle was good but lacked spice. I did order off Uber eats and there was not an option for spice level so maybe in the restaurant they ask but I would have liked it to be spicy. The Thai tea is also a great classic!
I ordered through Uber Eats and the food was phenomenal! We tried the Khao Soi Noodle Soup and Crispy Thai Lobster Rolls. I am still drooling thinking about the Khao Soi! The lobster rolls were good too but I will probably try a different appetizer next time. Can’t wait to order from here again!
This family restaurant is a highlight of northeast Minneapolis. I've been going here since they opened as Khao Hom Thai and it's been great every time. I could eat their spring rolls every day and the spice levels of their dishes are on point. The pro move is to get their delicious food to go and take it across the street and enjoy it with a beer from Fair State Brewing Cooperative. Cheers!
The prices were reasonable. The food was delicious, and portions were huge. I had plenty of leftovers. The food was still delicious after reheating as well. Highly recommended giving this place a try
We ordered several dishes and appetizers and I wouldn’t recommend any of it. Save yourself and just go up to Jasmine instead for the same dishes but significantly higher quality
This is my absolute favorite Thai place in Minneapolis. I've recently moved to Plymouth but still make the trip because its unparalleled in its quality of food and service. I love the Red Curry, Pad See Ew, and the Tom Kha Gai soup. PURE MAGIC.
love, love, love the food & the service! one of the gems in this god-forsaken town.
Oof. Overcooked fried rice and a Pad Mango that was syrupy sweet - with over cooked chicken. Proper Thai food this is not.
Fast and friendly service when ordering from phone. The food is Best Thai in the twin cities. The Thai jerky with sticky rice is a must everytime ordering from the establishment. The only con, I have a problem with is the no dine-in feature of the place. Ever since the plandemic was the reasoning for 🚫 dining in. Please reconsider opening up the option to do so. Thanks.....
Amazing place! The Khao Soi noodle soup is out of this world
Everything we tried was great! Truly recommend! Got for carry out while at Fir State Brewing basically across the street! (Also recommend) You will love what you get- great flavor, yummy curry, nice crunch where you expect crunch, fresh vegetables! We got the chicken tai egg rolls, curry puff wontons, Massaman curry, and the Pad Tia. Both entrees where very large servings (had lunch for the next day!) and the sides really hit the spot! Added extra veg and it really made each dish! Unfortunately, neither had an add meat option which we could have gone for. But honestly, with how yummy each dish was - meat wasn't missed too much! Only wish it was a bit more affordable... but is todays economy... Though, again, want to reiterate- definitely recommend!!!
We grabbed some of their recommendations and went to the local park. They're amazing! Try the sticky rice and green sauce, or anything else on the menu!
A go to when you want great food
Went there today for the first time. The workers were very nice and friendly. I’m Thai and I’ve been craving for some authentic Thai food. 1000% satisfied with the flavors!
Extremely friendly service and they were right on time with preparing my order. Highly recommend and will be ordering from them again! Food was delicious. My family ordered pad Thai, massumun curry, panang curry, cream cheese wontons, chicken laab, drunken noodles, eggs rolls, and spring rolls. Everything was flavorful. Level 3 spice is pretty on par with other Thai restaurants.
The green curry is amazing!! This place is always busy when I order for pickup so I must prepare ahead of time. The guy with the pony tail is awesome and has great energy! Thanks!!
Without question one of the best soups I ever experienced
Great food, big portions ,price are cheap, another good option to get good food to go.
Takeout only. Great little spot in NE. Usually a bit of a wait but soo worth it.
Just ordered appetizers which were: Thai Egg Rolls, Kimchi Cream Cheese Wontons & Thai Chicken Wings. Egg rolls were good, wontons were horrible, way over cooked with little filling. Chicken wings were the same, over cooked, mainly breading with little meat. Not sure if we will be revisiting anytime soon.
Take out only. Order inside or online. Wait was a little long to order, but ordering one item made the wait pretty short after ordering. Guy working was super nice. Ordered the Pad Sweet and Sour, which was a whole thing, super hot, and delicious. I wish there was more meat, but I still have a bunch of delicious sauce to use for later.
My favorite Thai restaurant in the Cities! Excellent food, friendly staff!
The food is good but they only do take out. The Masaman is a must try.
Khao Hom Pad Thai is unbelievable! Plus, the beefy jerky is so delicious I call it "meat candy"
Love the Pad Thai!
It was my first visit and I wasn't impressed with the service or food portion. The restaurant was take out only. It was dark and the proprietor was very short. I won't be going back there for Thai food 😩
Love their food, but don't love that they're still take out only.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant as a delivery person. The restaurant accused me of stealing the customer's food; they wanted me to confirm that I received the food before they handed me the food. The person who accused me was very rude and disrespectful, and did not listen to my explanation. Afterwards, he was laughing at me with his co-worker. I felt humiliated and angry. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially delivery drivers. They have no respect for their partners.
If you have the tall Asian chef cook your food you will be 100% satisfied
Seriously the most delicious Thai food ever! I love their pineapple fried rice, it's the best fried rice I've ever had! It's so addicting 😋 I also love how kind the people are who work here. They're so helpful and not judgmental if you don't know something. I don't like fish sauce and they are nice enough to allow me to order my food without fish sauce. Most Thai places already have the fish sauce in almost everything so it's nice to have a go to place to enjoy thai flavors without the fish sauce taste! Also their Thai iced tea is the most delicious I've ever had
Their Thai beef jerky w/ sticky rice is my new favorite. I wish i could put that spicy green sauce on all of my food. Can't wait to get it again.
So delicious!! Food made with lots of care and talent. Highly recommend
The Pad Thai tasted like chef boyardee in a sweet tomato sauce, it was gross. The spice levels were not as requested. I ordered a level 3 spiciness in my curry and there was no heat at all. My wife ordered a level 2 on the Pad Thai and it was at maybe a level 4. The spring rolls were fine. We won't be back.
This place has amazing food which is very tasty and flavourful. The menu is great and has a lot of variety as well. Cherry on top, they have a guy called Henry who served us. He’s the best server I’ve had in a while and a great great host. He is was very courteous and is very welcoming and a definitely an amazing man. Great restaurant with one of the best service I’ve ever seen. Kudos to Henry! 10/10. Would recommend!
They do NOT deliver no matter what Google says.
Their house special fried rice I forgot the name is delicious it has basil and is just wonderful.
They're takeout only rn. I get the pad see ew with tofu, level 3 spicy and Thai egg rolls. I'm from out of state and love Thai food. This is the best Thai food I've been able to find here so far (I generally order the same thing though so can't really vouch for other dishes). The food was actually spicy, and not just chili flakes scattered on top but like spiced while cooked as it should be, which is difficult to find around here too.
Take only within northeast. Good food!
Google search says dine-in available and their website does not explicitly state so, but they are take-out only. Super disappointing to show up with the entire family including small children only to find on arrival they're not serving dine-in.
My girlfriend and I were in heaven eating our takeout food from here. Egg rolls, spring rolls, potstickers, and curry basil fried rice were all incredible. We will be regulars.
The chicken satay was scrumptious! The scallops were good but needed more of them. For the money I’d say double.
Tried the Red Curry with Tofu and it was delicious. It’s a huge portion of food, basically two meals in one. I also got the Spring Rolls, and a extra side of rice (the red curry already comes with one). All for $23. That’s a steal to me, as someone who eats vegan food eating out is rarely cheap. But this was a absolute amazing experience, this is my new favorite spot.
ps, all this food fed me, my partner and our son with full happy bellys! thank you🙏🏽❤️
I liked the service, and the food was not bad, it was alright.
Es super q bueno lo atienden bien se recomienda
This place is my go to for Thai food in Minneapolis. Always so fresh and delicious. The green curry is to die for. Can’t recommend enough!!
Always fresh & flavorful, the best Massaman Curry in Minneapolis! Great portion size & spice levels!
Best pad Thai I've ever had. My favorite place wax Supatras but unfortunately they closed. No dine in available which was disappointing so my child and I had to eat in the car. Note to the restaurant owner......covid is over! It was laughable how the man behind the plexiglass would talk between the glass to the customers.
Hidden gem, best in town!
Amazing , got it while passing by back to Canada
Got their papaya salad, it was $8 for a tiny tub. This is a very cheap salad to make. The tiny amount is not worth it, go to another Asian restaurant. It tasted like red curry too, this was not on the menu ingredient list. Weird. Low quantity ingredients and low quality. No thanks, definitely not worth it.
Am door dash driver. I do delivery always
Love the massaman curry. This place is always so good.
Super good pumpkin curry and fried banana ice cream. I would say the spicy scale (1-5) is on the hotter side so if you’re in doubt go for a lower spice level.
It took over an hour from ordering online to it being ready so just plan to pick up your order on the later side of the estimated range. Worth the wait!
Ordered from this fine establishment a dozen or so times and have had delicious consistent food every single time. The gentlemen working the counter is always very fun and friendly.
Wow, absolutely amazing each and every time we order. We order every other week and every new dish we try is incredible. Amazing flavors and heat. Creative dishes. Fresh ingredients. Food is always piping hot and ready to go. Definitely a favorite.
Take too long for prepare the order and finally cancel the order. Not recommend this store!
Khao Hom Thai has become one of our favorite restaurants for take out. The spring rolls are good and bigger than most spring rolls I’ve had. The chicken wings and potstickers are some of our other go-to appetizers. The yellow curry fried rice is amazing if you like a little spice! The staff is always really friendly as well. I hope the dine-in option opens again sometime in the future!
Best Thai on central
Excellent food, too bad they are only doing take out. I used go before the pandemic to dine in.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. Everyone we turn on to it loves it! We can get several takeout items very affordably. Our favorites are the pad mango, mango sticky rice, Rangoons, pad Thai, and tofu spring rolls. Crazy that it's so delicious and yet so inexpensive.
Soggy fried rice and pad see iew without char
Top notch egg rolls and wontons! Desserts are amazing, and sticky rice is perfect. Will order again!
Take out times are inconsistent as well as spice levels - but if you’re willing to wait a little longer than you expected, the food is awesome!
Great spot! They have nice portions too. They could be a little more consistent on portion size, sometimes getting the red curry there's not alot of chicken... But the service is great.
Great Thai food! It was a breeze placing an order through their website (they take Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Crypto) and the food was ready ahead of time. Host was really friendly and the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. Will return soon!
Best Thai food I've had!
So good! The first time we noticed the flavor was there but not much heat for Thai food so the next time we asked for spice and it was amazing.
Get the Khoi soi, laab salad, or any of the curry.
