Traditional Thai cuisine
I love this place! I’ve gotten take out and have dined in many times over the past 6 years. I moved to Staten Island from Brooklyn and was struggling to find a good Thai place, but Chang Noi became my go to soon enough. The food is very flavorful and fairly priced for the portions. I have brought many people here and everyone has loved it and brought even more people. Everyone is always nice, I 100% recommend!
Favorite Thai restaurant in NYC! The service is impeccable and the food is even better. The intimate atmosphere makes it a great spot for a date. My favorite dishes are the Drunken Noodles, Duck Roll, and Pineapple Fried Rice, though I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried thorough. It is located conveniently in St. George with plenty access to busses, the SIR, and the ferry.
Chang Noi Thai is an absolute gem! Their Thai food is really good!! We ordered the chicken Pad Thai and drunken noodles (the spiciest they have) and they are bursting with authentic flavors. The drinks complement the meal perfectly; the Thai iced tea is a refreshing delight. The best part? All this deliciousness comes at a reasonable price. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Thai cuisine. ❤️

I love Thai food, Chang Noi Thai doesn't disappoint! With fresh ingredients and nice portions, I always leave my plate empty. The service is superfriendly, and the atmosphere is beautiful with sourced decor from Thailand. Owners Bain and Gai have created a welcoming dining experience.
We tried this place for the first time and we're glad we did. My friends and I decided to have an early dinner before watching a concert at the St. George Theatre and we chose to give this place a try since it was very close to the theatre and had good reviews.
The place had a nice casual, yet intimate motiff. Very cozy and surprisingly spacious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
For starters, we had the Curry Puffs and the Chicken Stay. Quite tasty. For dinner, we ordered the Larb Chicken, Shrimp Panang Curry, Crab Fried Rice, Chicken Drunken Noodles and the Duck Roll. Everything was scrumptious. They even had a good wine list. We had two bottles of their Malbec.
It was an excellent place to start our equally excellent evening. Worth coming back to. If you happen to be in the area, definitely check this hidden gem out.
My first time dining here since their transformation from a takeout joint to a full service restaurant. I'm a big fan of Thai food and hauling myself out to Elmhurst doesn't always work. Everything here was on point delicious. My go to item, papaya salad hit all the right notes. Full bar and well prepared entrees made for an enjoyable meal. Service can be a bit slow, but they were quite busy which I was happy to see.
This is my 5th time here. I went in with my sister and mom. Hands down the best and cutest little Thai place in Staten Island. Never had a bad experience! Most recently, I had their friend calamari and their red curry chicken (Thai spicy). Do not get Thai spicy if you can’t handle the heat. The red curry chicken was amazing and super filling. The server was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend
Thai restaurant with an authentic decor. My Pai Thai noodles were dry and lacked a savory sauce. Side Raw carrots, raw sprouts and broccoli were served with pieces of lime without any sauce. A fried rice with veggies had a combination of a raw and cooked veggies on the same dish. If you have been in this area this place might be accommodating. Good for a one time experience.
Love this place Best Thai food in nyc

Best Thai food in NYC, great service and a nice place to dine in
Quiet, un-assuming, food was very tasty.

Some of the best Thai I've ever had. Very reasonable prices too.
Great food, wonderful staff, my weekly go-to that never disappoints. Editing (3 years later!) to add their dining room is comfy and beautifully designed. Extensive and well-chosen wine list, 3 Thai beers to choose from. Best Thai place on the island by a long shot.
Also: I always go home with leftovers so whoever says portions are small should stick to all you can eat buffets lol.
This is my boyfriend and my favorite spot to dine. The food is always delicious and the servers are always very nice. We always get our food within reasonable time and they are good portion sizes. Love it here ❤️

It was a wonder experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I highly recommend stopping by.
Value for money 😀
Horrible!
Great Thai restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. I like to sit there and have dinner from time to time.
Lunch special is a great value. Perfect portion and only $12! Delicious to boost!
The quality of the food is amazing, very delicious! Our waiter was excellent, really taking care of us and very kind! The atmosphere, wonderful!

Pineapple Fried rice always on point, Delicious 🍱
Nettes Leute, gutes Essen, faire Preise. Recommended!
Great food... great owners!
Fantastic place with great food, service and atmosphere. Always friendly and clean.
Restaurant thaïlandais typique et cosy où le service est très agréable et la nourriture très bonne à prix corrects! Nous nous sommes régalés! De la décoration en passant par l'amabilité du personnel et l'hygiène du lieu, tout est parfait.
Good food. I didn't expect the food to be this authentically Thai. We had tom yum, fish cake & phad thai
Weiter so!
Great 👍 food & service, super clean 🥰
Great food. Great staff. Reasonable prices. Two thumbs up.
Food was really good.
A very expensive restaurant for what you get. 40 dollars for a tasteless watery soup with some traces of carrots and oignons and 2 wontons. And a plate of 6 frozen calamary rings.
But the worst of the experience is the old lady with glasses (I guess she's the owner). Honestly she needs to retire or just manage her restaurants from the shadows, instead of waitering and taking orders. Impolite, rude and apathetic.
And to tub salt into the wound, she expects you to leave a tip. What a deranged woman.
Delicious food, very attentive service, reasonably priced.
Love this hidden gem... The Pad See Ew is o-o-o-oh so good.
Thai food is one of my favorites and Chang Noi makes very good Thai food. I went recently with my wife and son and we all had enjoyable meals. My go to is either Pad Thai or one of the Curries and this time I chose Pad Thai which was excellent. It is a short walk from the ferry for those visiting Staten Island. The walk is uphill but very short. Worth a visit.
Great restaurant. Friendly staff!
Sehr gute Thailändische Küche zu vernünftigen Preisen, besonders freundlich 😊
Stopped here for lunch with our 2 year old after riding the ferry from Manhattan! Had 2 great lunch specials (shrimp rolls, Tom yum, 2x chicken pad see ew, chive pancakes, lychee juice). Food was fast and flavors were spot on. Service was great. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Our kiddo loved it and the staff were so accommodating for a 2 year old (we sat at a booth, although we were offered a high chair). Poor reviews look like they are mostly take out or delivery complaints. We would definitely eat in again. Def a 5 star lunch!!!! 🌟
I called to place an order cause their food is, fresh and tasty. As I was proceeding with the end of my order the woman asked me if I wanted to tip....I agreed for a $2 tip. She wanted to force me to pay a $5 tip based on my $50 order. I told her how is that a thing since I'm not at the restaurant occupying a, table or services. She's still implying the amount I've ordered I told her tip is optional and I've paid for online orders even a $2.00 tip and I've had my food delivered. Then she found another reason for me to pay $5 tip based on the distance..I was more upset cause I live 4 blocks away from the restaurant and she said it was almost a mile away. Then she realized she was lying and suggested I tip $3.. which I went along with. I called back to cancel my order since I don't like to be lied to, or to be taken advantage of. I told her my reason calming and she raised her voice at me about suggested the $3 tip which honestly I felt I was forced. The owners should look into this cause they will loose customers with that kind of attitude. It was in 2/12 at 5:10 pm
After today I choose not to order from this place again. The owners are kind people but it's unfortunate that they have stuff who are presumptuous.
First time trying Chang Noi Thai and food was very flavorful. Served as soon it was cooked. Our server was very attentive, accommodating and explained the different sauce we can choose from. Ordered basil FR with shrimp, drunken noodles with beef, Basil Roast duck and coconut pancake. Finished all except for the dessert because we were so full! When we left we were also given elephant keychains as tokens of their appreciation. At the end of our experience, our hearts and bellies were full! Would surely come back.
Ordered delivery. Food came very fast. I ordered after 5pm which is their dinner menu. Food is authentic and delicious but I have TWO issues. First portions are extremely small for dinner. I thought I was getting those rectangular plastic containers full of food. Instead we received main entrees in small round plastic containers. Second I’ve never seen a Thai place use regular broccoli in place of Chinese broccoli. They’re two completely different vegetables and taste. It ruined the pad see eww dish for me. Also had Thai fried rice and the Thai dumplings which were absolutely delicious. If you want to eat from here go to the restaurant. Delivery portions need improvement.
Went there with my new wife and our family on my wedding day. Talk to them in advance. They had the reservation waiting for us. Excellent service excellent food excellent atmosphere. I really love this place. We will be going back many times highly recommend this place.

Very tasty food and nice staff. Great spot 👍
Ask for the price of thing before buying bc they are twice the price they should be
2024.02 ordered take out, with additional spicy. wow, really good. .... Green curry. and one of the fried noodle. Satay is a little disappointed, well, it is mainly because it is take out, so it dry out.
2019.01 near the ferry and courthouse. Small 20 seats or less. Weekday has lunch special. Soup is great. Red curry is delicious. Especially I like the coconut Milk in the sauce.
The food was ok but let me explain what is ridiculous. Have you ever paid 3$ per ONE fried egg in your life? I did. I ordered extra fried egg on top of my pad see ew. There is no price at the menu. I always order extra fried egg at other Thai restaurants and they are 1-2$ extra. So these people are charged me and my husband 12$ extra for 4 fried eggs. For 12$ you can buy 24 eggs, if on sale 36 eggs from market. This is how you make money, people!
It was my first time and last time there.
Over all a nice restaurant with good food and a good atmosphere. The Duck Roll was very good.
never disappoints. food is fantastic (and *actually* spicy, not americanized spicy), thai iced tea and coffee are both delicious, and service is quick and courteous. first room is cozy and unassuming, and the larger dining room is gorgeous. great music, too.
my spice tolerance is subpar; i usually go for the mild (and delicious) pad see ew and shrimp rolls. i struggled through my medium spice basil entree when i went for lunch with my girlfriend and enjoyed every sweaty minute. her tolerance is much better and she loved her medium spice red curry. the tom yum soup was a big hit for both of us. i seriously cannot recommend chang noi thai enough. has to be one of my favorite restaurants on the island
I have tried their Druken and Pad Thai noodles a few times and they are usually dry. The portions are small given the price.
The red curry is good with a flavorful sauce but the tofu was super dry and a small amount of vegetables.
Its pretty to eat in with nice atmosphere so worth it for a dinner out. But take out seems to bring leftover dry dishes. The chicken satay is good but 3 thin pieces for $10
My favorite was the papaya salad.
I love this place! The food is so delicious. I usually get their drunken noodles, chicken wings, and curry puffs. All of the times I’ve eaten from them it’s been a hit! I can say this restaurant is one of staten island’s hidden gems.
I get it that we had 30% cumulative inflation since 2020 but you need a microscope to see the portions here
Qualità del cibo abbastanza scarsa ed insapore.
Unica nota positiva il prezzo
Top essen, sehr lecker und Preis, Leistungsverhältnis hat gestimmt.
I have ordered from here like 200 times in the last 10 years and they not have once failed me. I moved from Saint George to Westerly, but every Friday I go back get my food and go home. Best Thai place in S.I
Very good pad thai, friendly, calm and pricey Restaurant.
Talk about Gems on Staten Island. I've had thai food all over the city. Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan. And boy was I surprised to find this place. The wife wanted to try it from recommendation from here friends. I was like yeah, why not? I love to eat and thai places don't surprise me that much. Boy was I wrong. Everything we order was on point. The only dish that I can complaint a little about was the papaya salad and it was a bit too salty. But real thai people know all thai food is about the savory and saltiness. Every other dish was design for my palette. Every dish they made was extremely well balance. It's never too salty or sweet. Hats off to the chef. There was only 3 tables that day so there was only one waiter that is super attentive and knows the dishes very well. Atmosphere was great, Highly recommend this place even if you think you had good thai food before. Come try this place and you won't be disappointed.
We came from out of town to get some thai food. We ordered the pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles. It was delicious and the people who work at the restaurant are so kind!
Authentic Thai food, highly recommended and very tasty!
EXCEPTIONAL RESTAURANT. smiley waitress. Friendly owner. I'm a restaurant owner too....you must try this food!
super expensive, and I ordered chicken satay and they gave me pad thai after even repeating the order back to me…
I've been there for the first time and don't regret it. The food was tasty, and the service was friendly.
I ordered pad thai with shrimp and Thai coffee. I was hoping that the pad thai would be more authentic, like the kind you'd find at the night market in Phuket. However, it was more of a 'soft' edition. Despite that, it was still delicious. I couldn't resist and ended up eating the entire plate!
Also I like their interior. Definitely would come back.
Good food and kind staff.
Hidden gem! A tiny AUTHENTIC Thai restaurant hidden away within walking distance of the ferry. It’s located on a small strip of stores. Prices are very very fair and the food is amazing. UPDATE 5/7/22: They’ve expanded to the right of the original restaurant. It’s now much bigger and beautiful.
Duck was perfect, curry was also nice!
I'm not a review person. Its not really my thing, but I can say this, the food from here was amazing! I live in NJ and I will be having my birthday party here! I hope the cook never leaves
My wife and I came here after a long day. We sat down and waited over an hour for our food to come. We watched an Asian group come in after us and they were served immediately. We sat for over an hour as is. When we asked the waitress what was going on with the food she said “they are still cooking it”. I replied “that group came in after us and there is 5 of them and 3 of us” and she replied “they were on the other side”. When we came in no one was on the other side. We feel like we were discriminated against my wife is Trinidadian and I am Puerto Rican, everyone else received their food right away. We felt discriminated against. I will never go there again. They judged us on our appearance.
Absolutely Amazing
Visited this place on our trip to NYC, loved the basil fried rice 😍 the best I’ve ever had. Also the ambience is lovely ☺️ Wouldn’t miss this little gem!
Bel locale tipico tailandese, pulito e con ottimo cibo. Personale molto gentile e accogliente.
The Pad see ewe and crab fried rice were really good and the duck curry was amazing. The waitress was very nice even when my youngest accidentally knocked the water off the table. Dining with 3 little kids (and they weren’t watching screens) the waitress and food were very kid and adult friendly
Très bon, abordable, propre et accueil plus que chaleureux. On recommande ++
Ordered a take out dinner for two of us but didn't expect to be paying Manhattan prices ($75??) Girl on the phone was abrupt and rude. We didn't expect a simple green chicken curry to cost $18 and we got 3 pieces of chicken satay for 9 dollars? Food arrived tepid and then they got annoyed I wasn't going to tip the delivery guy?? I had just had to pay 75 dollars for a mediocre bag of food so excuse me if I didn't have spare change! Over priced and under whelming food and rude staff. Avoid!
Absolutely delicious, authentic Thai cuisine! Lovely place with lovely people running the restaurant. I’ve tried many things from the menu - basil chicken, teriyaki chicken, chive pancakes, curry puffs, Thai dumplings, red curry, fried rice … every single dish is consistently excellent!
Best Thai food I have ever had truly amazing good service
Great food friendly staff and prices were affordable
The prices are affordable and the customers are nice. The food was pretty good and you get lunch special for 12$. It‘s with a dish, Appetizer and a drink.
Haben nen Thai gesucht und sind zum ausprobieren rein. Zum Glück!
Sehr sehr leckeres Essen!!
Super liebe Servicekraft, saubere Toiletten angenehme Preise.
Wir waren nicht zum letzten Mal dort!
What a nice place. It’s beautiful and it’s so clean. Even on the toilet smells like perfume is in the air. Never expected that.
The food was delicious. Spicy and so fresh.
I will definitely come back.
It’s always worth to walk some steps on Staten Island and go to Bains Chang Noi Thai authentic kitchen.
Tasty, affordable food. Nice environment and squeaky clean restrooms
Pad thai was great 1/3 times, but everything else is usually pretty good. Not a bad spot when passing by but not too cheap either.
Food is great. 3 stars because it is NOT $ it is more like $$ even $$$ in some cases. The price hikes are unwarranted
I love this restaurant! I work on this block and order frequently. There’s nothing I’ve had that I didn’t enjoy! Service can be slow at times, but that’s all restaurants, no? Their food is awesome and consistently better than the new location down the street. I’m always warmly welcomed here.
First time there nice place
Really good 👍🏽
We live in lower Manhattan and love to get out of town to eat out. A nice ferry ride and you reach Staten Island. One of the best Thai restaurants in the area is located there. The food is authentic Thai. There are good noodle and rice dishes. The meat is of good quality. The food is very good. The people are very nice. The toilets clean and nice. The prices are cheap. Suitable for families with many children. We would love to come back soon.
Alles sehr super! Tolles Essen, moderate Preise, freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung, schöne Atmosphäre im Speiseraum, frische und zügige Essenszubereitung!
Volle 5 Sterne in allen Kategorien! Waren schon 2x hintereinander da und morgen wieder!
The best Thai food on the island at a decent price!
Good Thai noodles and rice at reasonable price
Not much of a dining room but we love the food here.
The food is great!! The pad see ew is divine. However the service here is awful.
Veramente ottimo e costa molto meno di manhattan
Delicious food that's well prepared, a welcoming atmosphere and very good service. It's a pleasant little neighborhood spot that does an excellent job all around - I was particularly impressed by the branzino preparation and even the rice was perfectly done. The appetizers were tasty and freshly made too, and there's decent choice of wine by the glass.
Un restaurante muy bonito, muy buena comida, buena atención, muy limpio y buena relación calidad - precio. Muy recomendable!
Taste is good but meat portion is very less for the price.
I was searching Thai restaurants in Staten island and I found this place so got very excited about it because the photos were looking great so I decided to try this place. I got green curry, thai salad and chicken Satay. These are my go to orders when I go to a thai restaurant so I know what they taste like but I was shocked that how different and bad the curry was. It was tasteless, too watery and over spicy(usually I love spicy food) I couldn’t even eat it then I opened the chicken satay and for 1 order it was only 3 very small pieces and it was unfairly small portion as well. The cashier girl was pretty mean to me while phone and also when I came to pickup my order .So overall I totally regret everything about this place while I was expecting to love it. It was just the worst thai food that I’ve ever had.
I am gluten free, and the wonderful staff advised me what I can and cannot have. I am one to try pad Thai dishes in every Thai restaurant. Some have failed miserably on flavor, some have excelled. I am so happy to say that pad Thai at Chang Noi Thai was EXCELLENT! Yummy flavor, texture! And they will customize your dishes to your liking. I cannot so bean sprouts, eggs, or peanuts (which would have made the dish even more spectacular-but not necessary). Highly recommended. Would go again. I want to try everything! Clean restaurant and bathrooms.
Found this place in SI, the food and service both amazing! We had the chicken basil fried rice and chicken green curry, both very flavorful!!
Excellent food, we loved their Tom Ka with Vegetables, Veg Dumplings and their mango salad. Thai iced tea 🧊 was great for the hot summer ☀️Very polite and friendly service, they even helped me charge my phone in the kitchen while eating! Highly recommend if you’re around 😋❤️
Great service and food here.
great tast love this place ❤️
I love this place
Went here for lunch, got the lunch special with Tom yum and green curry. Really high quality and tastes very good.
Delicious food. We ordered around 10 dishes and all were just too good. Calamari, vegetable rolls, dimsums, fried rice, chicken in red sauce. You name it and they have the expertise.
Omg, I could eat here every day!
Finally we're able to dine in!!!!
And what a beautiful setting! All decorations and finishes straight from Thailand! The new dining area is 3 weeks in an it's perfect, cozy and jus made our dinner even more enjoyable.
Tonight we dined on some fried shumai, Drunken Noodles, Basil Duck, Egg fries rice and enjoyed some Thai ice tea.
We will definitely be back with the rest of our family.
The restaurant is clean, the staff are friendly and attentive and Ms. Gai was happy to greet us and saw us out as we left ,🙂. So happy that we were here!
Food is done just right, staff is friendly and service was excellent, overall a delightful experience. Highly recommended!
Favorite Thai place
Thai is def one of my favorite cuisines and pretty much is the same quality and flavor in general from various restaurants I’ve ate from bc it’s pretty simple but I feel like their quality and consistency has significantly decreased. It’s either a hit or miss bar this spot
No bathroom.
Pad Thai with tofu was good.
Had Iced coffee and it tasted medicine :(
Fried shrimp was ok.
Server was nice so that’s a plus.
Update: had Pad Thai and fried spring rolls (meh not a fan. It’s one of those frozen spring rolls).
Pad Thai as usual delicious!
Had coconut juice this time it was yummy it looked like it’s fresh with actual coconut bits
My family and I visited staten island, and had a chace to dine in this restaurant. Staff was friendly, even let us in before they were opened. Great food with reasonable price, and big portions. We are happy about everything. 5 stars!!!
Crazy, but I tried to order from them to pick up at 4pm and they told me they got a lunch break and ask to call back at 5pm. What kind of business is it?
I’ve been searching for a good
Thai place in Staten Island for awhile and I think we’ve found one! This place had excellent takeout. Food was fresh, extremely tasteful and very enjoyable! Will definitely order from them again!
serving sizes are criminally small, every single dish is dry as a bone and I can’t prove it but im positive the chicken is not chicken. if you’re into bland, suspect food, this is your place. if you’re after legitimate thai food, head up the block to Talay
My favorite Thai restaurant on the island. The food is authentic, well prepared and delicious. The service is impeccable. Everything I have eaten has always been good. This place never disappoints.
Aubergine basil entree is a must try
Good service and yummy food. Will recommend a visit.
OMG seeing this place in my old neighborhood was a dream come true. Food was excellent, good prices for the Island, as well as a mall and ferry right down the block. Drunken noodles, mango salad, basil chicken, ginger chicken and a curry chicken. Portions are big and that big box of rice took me back to the old days before all these plastic containers. Highly recommended. I would suggest research before you order so you know what your getting. The young man taking orders is great too.
Not to shabby. The two Thai spots on this street both offer similar Tom Kah soup. Both are a bit too milky. Both need to work on the broth. I don't understand why they don't ask you how spicy you want it upon ordering? Add chili's for better flavor FAM! the Masamam curry was delicious. I don't quite like when they deep fry the chicken and then add it to the broth. But this place had a delicious Masamam broth. I would highly recommend that they cook together with bone in chicken instead of sliced fried chicken. Overall flavor is there and price is right. However if price goes up that won't work.
