Serving AUTHENTIC Thai Food Daily
This restaurant had amazing food, it's on the spicer side but extremely good! I had tom yum soup, a beef salad, curry potato puffs, shrimp appetizer and I had coconut pudding but it's served warm but it had a really good flavor kind of reminded me of rice pudding, my friend had deep fried banana dessert. I also had Boba green tea π
Best Thai place my husband and I have been to in a very long time. Service 10 out of 10!! They were incredibly sweet and welcoming, very attentive as well. Such a Cozy and βZen likeβ atmosphere! Super fresh ingredients and a vast selection of dishes that all look βmouthwateringly deliciousβ, because they are π€€!! Hug Baan Thai was sensational and we will be going back regularly for date night or takeout ,for this is truly a hidden gem!!
The food was amazing
Love seeing scratch crab Rangoons, they were delicious π
Beware they are Thai spicy, mild + was good for me and my bf loved the spicy. My boyfriend is currently unconscious from how good the portion sizes are too π.
Definitely excited to come back and try more soon!
Also love all the details like the rose folded napkins and the ambiance was calm and super cute.
This is my third time dining at this restaurant and it never fails to disappoint. This is top of my list for Thai restaurants and one thing that sticks out is how comfortable and special the staff makes you feel as soon as you enter. So the restaurant is located in a tiny strip mall but by no means is the food mediocre. I always order the Thai Iced Tea which is absolutely delicious.
Appetizers of Chicken Satay and Crab Rangoon were ordered. The chicken satay was of decent size and seasoned well. It paired well with the house made peanut dipping sauce. The crab Rangoon was tasty as well with the exterior light and crispy.
For an entree I tried the Pad Thai with shrimp. The ingredients are so fresh and really make a tasty dish. The portions are pretty good size for a good price. My dish was $15 and I brought half of it home to eat as a midnight snack π.
I highly recommend Hug Baan. The service is excellent and the atmosphere authentic. A truly hidden gem!
What an amazing place! Visiting from Ohio with my cousin, she happened to google this place based off the reviews and it did not disappoint! Customer service was fantastic and the food taste as good as it looks! Papaya salad was spicy and delish! so was the fried tofu & thai iced tea..I also got the medium spice beef pho and it was literally the best pho I've ever had! My cousin got the lard-na chicken & mango spicy salad, definitely flavorful and tasty!! We definitely recommend this place! 10/10
We visited this restaurant for dinner. Nice ambience, Menu is good with variety.. we ordered spicy basil fried rice and Basil Pad Thai noodles.. THE PORTIONS SERVED WAS SO ( very, very) LESS, EVEN MY DAUGHTER WENT WITH HALF FILLED.. Later we went to a Mexican restaurant to complete our dinner..
My recommendation would be to have your stomach filled before dining in this restaurant.
Best Thai in Macomb hands down!
Best Thai I had in Michigan till date. Panang curry and drunken noodles were exceptional
Lovely experience. Food was good and interesting, staff was welcoming and helpful. There were red napkins folded in the shape of roses. Prices are moderate. Recommend.
I have ate here twice.
1st time I ordered the Pad Thai and dumplings, both were delicious
2nd time I ordered the drunken noodles and they were so overcooked it was mushy did not like at all. I also got coconut pudding, yummy and Chive Pancakes and those too were good.
The food was really good ,very flavorful, the service was good too , the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I bought a chicken fried rice and it wasn't any chicken in the rice. Hopefully, next time, they won't forget the chicken .
Great place!
I ordered takeout and got the pad thai lunch special with shrimp. The food was packaged well and still piping hot when I got home. The meal was delicious and the shrimp was some of the best Iβve ever had. Would definitely come back again!
My carry out experienceβ¦Firstly food was packed in a caring way to arrive cold or hot by separating with cardboard and also to prevent spilling all over. I appreciate that! I believe the crab wontons were real crab, they were small but perfectly done. Fresh rolls were fresh and delicious. Tom Kar soup was rich and plentiful with shrimp and vegetables seasoned just perfect. Pad Ped great as well. Thrilled to find this place so close to work, may become a problem as so good. Canβt wait to adventure deeper.
The best in Michigan
Best Thai place my husband and I have been to in a very long time. Service 10 out of 10!! They were incredibly sweet and welcoming, very attentive as well. Such a Cozy and βZen likeβ atmosphere! I really like the food here. It makes me feel like I'm eating real Thai food. The service is excellent. I'm Thai people but the service is very heartfelt. It's very lovely. I will go eat there often.
Amazing! Best Thai place in town. Especially, I really like their Mango Boba Tea!
My fave Thai spot in Troy! I will keep bringing my coworkers here to prove how good it is!
The BEST Thai food in Sterling Heights!
Ordered carryout and after seeing how pretty the restaurant is and after eating my food, I can't wait to go and enjoy a sit down meal in the restaurant. Everything was so delicious and even though mild spice made me sweat my face off, I wanted more. Great Thai food!
We love Siri. My son and I are addicted. Best Tom Yum soup!!
Best Thai food I've ever tried in Michigan so far, I recommend the Chicken red curry, Shrimp pad Thai as well as the pineapple fried rice.
The restaurant was delicately decorated. Staff was polite and precise. Everything tastes freshly made.
From the second we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The entire experience was incredible, from the delicious authentic Thai food to the attentive service to the most charming Thai style atmosphere. This restaurant exceeded all my expectations. You do not often find a place where everything comes together so perfectly. Weβve been searching forever for an authentic Thai food restaurant, and we finally found it! Iβll definitely be recommending Hug Baan Thai to all my friends and family.
Thr service was ok and the atmosphere was also good. Everyone overhyped this restaurant. My wife and I had dinner there tonight and the portions looked like a lunch special vs dinner. The amount of money we were charged per person was outrageous for a very small portions. I won't be eating here again. My wife kept insisting we go to SyThai in Troy, but I said let's go try this place out. I wish we would've gone to SyThai.
I almost never leave reviews, but this place serves the most delicious Thai food I've ever had in SE Michigan. I got Singapore noodles expecting something simple to fill me up, and I ended up savoring every bite. Perfectly seasoned, so aromatic, not too oily or too dry. The vegetables were extremely fresh and flavorful, so much so that I was picking out the vegetables intentionally to eat. I'm only upset I don't live closer so I could eat here more often.
Incredible meal. Thank you owners and chefs!
Food is so great here! The staff is wonderful and they have gluten free options!
This place is the real deal! Best Thai Iβve ever had. Everyone in our group of 4 got a different dish and everyone loved theirs. The Green Curry and Spicy Basil Pad Thai were made with fresh ingredients and bright flavors. Canβt wait to go back!
Im a regular here. Absolutely love this restaurant! Food is excellent! The lady who runs the front is extremely friendly and polite!
I will recommend this spot 11 out of 10 times
Great food. Loved the chicken spicy soup and drunken noodles. But everything was awesome. Will be back.
Great food, Great service, tons of food.
Restaurant is nice and cozy and we were welcomed with a smile, very nice people. We had the crab ragoons, dumplings, chicken satay, Singapore noodles with shrimp and crispy chicken, drunken spagetti with chicken, drunken noodle with seafood, and the custard sticky rice. Everything we ordered was very delicious.
I am are here the second time this week, first with my daughter and now with my son. I just live this place! Service is excellent the food is phenomenal ! I canβt add a picture because we eaten it already lol.
The best Thai cousin I ever tried!!!
Food was amazing and all the workers were nice. Service was very slow due to short staff. There was an influencer who had posted something about their restaurant and they were packed with more people than usual. The staff weren't used to there being that many people, so I feel like if they hire some more staff then this restaurant will be very good, so I'm not too worried about that.
Was excited to try this place from the great reviews but we didn't even get to. Waited over 20 minutes noone even took our order. People arrived after us and had their order taken.
Best Thai in metro Detroit. Recommend the wonton soup, fried wontons, any of the fried rices and just about anything else. I try something new and usually love it.
Beautiful place with awesome food!! Best Thai ever, specially basil fried rice was delicious
Delicious Tom Yum soup, shrimp rolls, and chicken wings.
We ordered Tom Kar Soup, Salmon Curry, Drunken Noodles, Mango Coconut Sticky Rice and Butterfly Lemonade. Everything was delicious!!! We want to go back and try other things. The taste reminded us of our trip in Thailand. The lady with long hair who's served us today was also really nice. Highly recommended!
I ordered the cashew curry dish with red curry. Flavor was excellent. Portion size was right on. Great service. Spices were medium as ordered and not awful like some other places I've been. Would go again and would recommend it.
One of the best Thai cuisines I have been to. The ambiance is a breath of fresh air and combined with a great service, it elevates the experience of eating out. Food was yummy. Salad and soup served with lunch is a bonus and prepares you for what is to come. Just wonderful!!
Vegan friendly and incredibly flavorful and delicious. Food is spicy so be sure to order a step lower first. The papaya salad, Geang pa, Geang judd soup... Mango sticky rice... So good!!
Itβs super good
So pretty inside. Very clean. The waitress was wonderful. She kept back several times to check on us. The Orange Thai tea is delicious. I had the Pad Thai with Chicken, my son the Pad Thai with Tofu. Hubby Drunken noodles with chicken.
Everything was very good. Good portions. We went for lunch but ordered the dinner portion.
Very pleasant decor, great service, and authentic food. Felt like we were back in Thailand on holiday.
I've eaten at 30 plus Thai restaurants and this is by far the best. Every dish I've had (which has been the pad thai, the pad cashew, and the drunken noodle) have been great. The service is always good too!! I don't live in the area but I sometimes work out this way, this is a must try especially if you're from out of town!
Went here today for two lunch specials. I was at lunch from work with CO worker.Didn't get to eat at lunch break because food wasn't ready at the pick up time I was told it would be. After another 20 mins of waiting for my lunch to be done I had to rush back to work so late I wouldn't be too late. Needless to say work sucked after that.
One of my favorite restaurants, very nice environment, and the food tastes very traditional.
I pass at least 6 other Thai places on my way here, but their food is the best. The only place that makes Seβew the right way with the fresh noodles instead of the Pad Thai noodles. Been coming here since they were a stand inside Oakland Mall, and am still always impressed.
Very good Thai food! Definitely recommend
Took my family to this place, and we received a bad experience. Won't be going back. Never got my order ( the rest of my family got theirs), never checked on us, never got water refill, waited a long time to get our check.
Went out to eat with friends and they recommended Hug Baan. We have been there several more times since then and the food was absolutely amazing everytime. The ambiance is really good and the wait staff are great and always smiling and making you feel welcome. My two favorite dishes so far has been the curry fried rice and the fried catfish. Appetizers are great as well especially the fresh rolls and fried wontons. They do a great job of getting your preferred spice level perfect as I don't like overly hot foods. I have never liked iced coffee until I tried their Thai iced coffee now I'm addicted to it and sometimes have two. Do yourself a favor and try Hug Baan you won't be disappointed.
Best Thai food in town. Everything I've tried has been great and I have yet to find any Tom Yum that even comes close
Great place and the food is just perfect
What an amazing place! Visiting from Ohio with my cousin, she happened to google this place based off the reviews and it did not disappoint! Customer service was fantastic and the food taste as good as it looks! Papaya salad was spicy and delish! so was the fried tofu & thai iced tea..I also got the medium spice beef pho and it was literally the best pho I've ever had! My cousin got the lard-na chicken & mango spicy salad, definitely flavorful and tasty!! We definitely recommend this place! 10/10
Excellent ! The food is too good ! We had basil fried rice , pad see eaw and a boba tea , 10/10!
I went two weeks in a row because the food was just that spectacular! I live about 17 minutes away, but itβs well worth the trip. The tofu is cooked to perfection, unlike many Asian restaurants Iβve tried. The food tastes like someone made it with love in their own kitchen. PLEASE donβt ever change. π€πΎβ€οΈβπ₯ Iβve been a Thai food connoisseur for a minute and this place is absolutely the best Thai Iβve ever had. The menu has so many options. Itβs also very atmospheric for in-door dining.
Food and service were phenomenal! Everything was delicious! Presentation was very eye appealing. One of the best Thai restaurants in Michigan. I lived in Bangkok for two years and the food is authentic. Service staff was very nice and accommodating
Th food here is so delicious omg I want to eat here all day everyday but we know thats impossible.. the owner is very sweet person and she is so beautiful..
We work down the road and were looking for a new Thai place to get lunch from. Food was ready quickly and was absolutely amazing! The chicken was really tender and not rubbery like you get at some places. Veggies were fresh and the sauce wasn't overly salty. We can not wait to order takeout again. The inside is adorable and cozy, I can't wait to dine in with my husband as well.
Been to many Thai restaurants and this Thai restaurant is the BEST I would rate it a 10. Food , service and atmosphere
I absolutely will come back to dine at this beautiful restaurant. I loved the Tom Yum Soup and the Red Curry with Chicken. I got both medium spice, and they brought the heat (which I was very happy with). The host was very welcoming. I loved the atmosphere here. Thank you for the excellent service and delicious food!
The Thai food was to die for. It was so tasty. I had the peanut curried chicken. I will be telling everyone I know about this place. And the waitress was so kind and very good. You will not be disappointed!
I ordered edamame two orders I asked for extra salt mistakenly they put hot sauce some how I go back said I wanted extra salt NOT hot sauce. They remake the order for me to find out they only RINSED THEM OFF and I am allergic to spice so now I have to take Benadryl for my throat because they clearly still had the hot sauce on most of them inside full of hot sauce water! Sad because this was a new found fav! But not anymore you shouldnβt play with ppl health what if I had a really bad reaction or died! Sad
Food was good and service was great! Atmosphere was really nice!
The Best Thai restaurant in Michigan!!
This Thai restaurant is decorated very authenticly Thai and the decor expresses the richness of Thai culture. Right from the first moment you walk in you can feel the embrace of Thailand. The food doesn't not disappoint either. Every dish they serve is delicious. The owners and wait staff are genuine and kind. Everything about this establishment is exceptional. We'll worth the visit! I give it my highest recommendation.
(I am not affiliated with this restaurant and no part of this review was a paid endorsement.)
Always delicious. Love the noodle soups! There are a lot of options. Always good service.
I love this place they are clean and friendly. Our host/waitress is very nice and friendly.
The best authentic Thai restaurant Iβve been to in the area. I would highly recommend it. We got the pad Thai, drunken noodle, yellow curry, massamun curry and pineapple fried rice. The spice level was just right for mild since it was our first time trying it out. Will have to try out medium spice for next time.
Last time I've been to this place was under previous management in Detroit. The experience today was nothing short of amazing. The owner herself was on the main floor taking care of our table. The food is just as good as it used to be under Sala Thai management, which is simply the best authentic thai food you could ask for in Metro Detroit. Susie was awesome! We'll definitely be back there again.
I had lunch with friend. Food and service were great. there were 5 of us and all of the appetizer comes as 4 pieces. but they gave us 5 pieces for all the appetizers we ordered with no charge and we didn't even ask. everything was tasty especially the Thai noodle soup which usually Thai restaurant does not offer. Will visit again soon.
Saw this place we drove down 14 miles, thought weβd check it out. Great surprise. Itβs got an old-school Asian feel to it when you walk in the door, which only boosted the anticipation of what was coming out of the kitchen. It was really good. Fresh flavors, great food, presentation, and Susie, who greeted us at the door with a happy smile was an awesome hostess. Ample portions, value priced,β¦ All good in every way. Canβt wait to go back, Highly recommend it.
as soon as you pull into the parking lot, the window lights already exude a homey atmosphere. the first step you take inside, you're immediately greeted with tropical plants and water fountains, incredibly themed decor to match the upcoming holiday with lights + heart folded nakpins as if you're transported to midtown/corktown/downtown vibes while paying suburban prices. the portions are beyond generous, big enough to feed three ppl. the food is impeccable! the menu is the most diverse of anywhere I've ever seen in the metro area. highly recommend for protein of choice to get their crispy chicken. their online order menu is complete with pictures of most dishes. the owner is incredibly sweet + hospitable, you feel as if you're being welcomed into her home. :)
the only suggestion would be for music to possibly play custom playlist [some cute music to match the cute scenery] to avoid ads on the radio (which can sometimes be pretty awkward) to elevate the mood even further.
will definitely be back to try other menu items!
Great food and service
I was there yesterday for lunch. I was satisfied with the papaya salad Thai style with the good portion.
This evening decide to go pick up papaya salad Thai style again. The portion was small. Is better to dine in for good portion. No more carry out or I will go to my other place.Tonight I wasnβt satisfied with the carry out.
If you have not tried this Thai restaurant you absolutely need to first and foremost when you walk in it is absolutely stunning. Second the food is amazing. The dancing chicken is perfect. The fried rice and the red curry is amazing. The crab goons are absolutely the best they have a fantastic menu, you definitely need to try this Thai restaurant
The noodles in drunken noodle were way over cooked & mild spice tasted like medium/hot, I can barely eat it. I will return though bc my husband's peanut curry was amazing and the flavor of drunken noodles was great. I think this place has potential.
Title: A Culinary Haven in Metro Detroit
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hug Baan Thai in Metro Detroit, and it's an experience worth raving about. This gem stands out as the best Thai restaurant in the area, seamlessly blending exquisite decor with a culinary journey that elevates the senses.
From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail is palpable. The ambiance is a perfect balance of sophistication and warmth. The decor is not just tasteful; it's an integral part of the dining experience. The atmosphere at Hug Baan Thai is a testament to their commitment to creating a memorable dining setting.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show β the red curry. It's not just a dish; it's a masterpiece. The flavors are harmonious, the spice level is perfection, and the presentation is as delightful as the taste. Each bite takes you on a journey through the rich Thai culinary tradition, leaving you craving more.
What sets Hug Baan Thai apart is their friendliness and the consistency in their commitment to excellence. The restaurant isn't just about serving food; it's about crafting an entire experience where every aspect, from decor to cuisine, is executed with precision and passion.
If you're in Metro Detroit and crave an authentic Thai dining experience, Hug Baan Thai is the destination. It's more than a restaurant; it's a haven for those who appreciate the artistry of both decor and cuisine. Your taste buds will thank you, and your soul will savor the memories of a truly exceptional meal.
We visited here last Friday and loved it! Wonderful service and very good food! The attention to detail here really made the experience a step above other places. It was beautiful head to toe inside the restaurant. Probably the most beautiful Thai restaurant in all of metro Detroit.
For food we ordered the Crab Rangoons, the Laab "Salad," the Chicken Red Curry and Chicken Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was my absolute favorite. It has that slight tomato? flavor in it and the spice was just right, I loved it! The Red Curry was my second favorite with a luxurious creamy curry sauce and a healthy amount of chicken and veggies. The Crab Rangoons were good, but could have used a little more filling, but still very good as is. The Laab was good but could have used a little more texture for me, it was primarily just deliciously flavored ground meat. I would like to see it served with cold, chilled lettuce (along with the cucumbers it came with) so it could be enjoyed as a salad (as the section it was listed).
Overall, great spot! Will definitely come back!
Super delicious, extremely flavorful, crispy duck is a must have. This place just opened and is very authentic, some Thai friends recommended this place. Beef noodle soup bowl was also delicious.
Amazing place. Great environment and staff. Good always amazing
The hostess was so kind and hospitable. I ordered carry out. As I waited, the lovely hostess offered me water to drink and gleefully chatted with me. My meal was delicious. There were at least 3 to 4 servings. Totally had to save most of the food for later. I will definitely be back to dine in. PS. It smells delightful inside this restaurant⦠like powder and flowers.
This is the most authentic Thai restaurant! Had a group of 20 of us for dinner on a Sunday. All of us were very happy with our meals. Everyone said the food has so much flavours! It tastes as if the food is homemade and not restaurant. It's my third time here with plans to continue going there. Have recommended to friends and they love it! Owner is friendly and kind!
Iβve only ordered from this restaurant from Doordash, but they have the freshest, most flavorful, authentic Thai food Iβve ever had the pleasure of consuming. When I am able to, I hope to dine in at the restaurant with a friend. May your business continue to prosper.
The lady that took my order was friendly. I ordered the Crab Rangoon, and it was very good. I also ordered the curry rice w chicken and shrimp, spicy+.It had a very delicate mild flavor. I wish that it had a bolder taste to it. My Drunken Noodles were good as well, but again, I wanted more flavor it got boring really fast for me. I will return and try something different next time.
This was exactly what we were looking for. Amazing flavor, good spice and a great menu. After moving back to the area I've found my go to Thai spot. The calamari, red snapper, Basil pad thai and drunken noodles were all 10/10. Can't wait to explore the menu.

I highly recommend Hug Baan. The service is excellent and the atmosphere authentic. A truly hidden gem!
Love the food! Everything is great!
This place is wonderful if you're looking for delicious, authentic Thai flavors and a friendly, welcoming vibe. We've visited a few times, and everything we tried has always been prepared impeccably and tasted great. Don't miss the chive pancakes, curry puffs, and Larb. If you're adventurous, try the papaya salad Thai style (ours had crab legs mixed in). The Massaman curry was great as well as the Singapore noodles. If you can catch it when in season, definitely get mango sticky rice (the color of the rice is blue from butterfly pea flower tea). Say hi to Susie, the owner, she's so lovely to talk to and what keeps the standards here so high. 10/10
The atmosphere is so beautiful! Their service is top notch. I was very apprehensive coming in here at first due to my previous traumatic experiences at other Thai restaurants. I thought I hated Thai food until I got here. Very affordable and halal options. Would definitely recommend! 9/10
I got take out tonight and was beyond impressed. I had soup and vegetable curry and it was delicious. I got mild + and it was the absolutely perfect spice level. The new owners are super friendly and I am so thrilled to have this as my go to Thai place.
The best Thai food with great hospitality! Beautiful, calm and serene atmoswhere. I ordered the 'Crispy Calamary' and 'Crab meat fried rice' and I loved the authentic thai flavours! Yum Yum Yum ! Thanks to the wonderful chefs there. It made my Sunday lunch a memorable one!
We came from the west side of the state BEST FOOD! FABULOUS SERVICE! WARM WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Fun remodel with cool new drinks!
What a hidden gem π. This place was awesome!!! Super clean and plenty of seating. Started our meal with the Tom Kar soup and shrimp rolls. Soup was spicey and creamy with a hint of sour. the only thing I would change was the protein I selected. I'm not a big fan of the chicken. Flavor of soup and freshness of veggies was spot on. Shrimp rolls were crispy and not greasy, paired with a light sweet sauce. EntrΓ©es were beef and shrimp pad Thai noodles and a peanut curried chicken. Beef was tender and shrimp plump and cooked to perfection. Noodles were super spicy. FYI, I ordered them medium, and they were pretty spicy to the point where my lips were burning and sweating a bit. So if you don't like spicey, don't order the medium. Peanut curry was delicious as well, just not a big fan of their chicken. The chicken was sliced really thin, and the marinade changed the texture of the meat. Would try it again only this time with shrimp. The Thai tea was amazing, helped with the burn of the spices. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back for dinner again.. Thank you for a great evening!!
This was our first visit since the change in ownership. We noticed additional lighting, new tablecloths and pillows in each booth. We were served by the new owner who was friendly and attentive. We tried the spring rolls which were some of the best we've ever eaten. She said they were home made. We tried the Pad Ped and Pad Thai which were both delicious. We also had shrimp Tom Yum which we recommend. We will be returning soon.
We love the food here! Amazing flavors and service! Thank you!
Excellent place, very spacious and comfortable in terms of food and drinks, very delicious!
I will definitely come back again!!
I am originally from Thailand and have had a hard time finding authentic Thai food since Iβve been in Michigan. Today I ate here today, and I can tell you the food was so tasty and authentic Thai, it tasted just as I remember back in Thailand. Thank you, Hug Baan Thai, I will be returning again and again.
One word: DELICIOUS!! Went on a Saturday evening and received the most attentive service and amazing, fresh and authentic food! Absolutely love the crab Rangoon and the pineapple rice that comes out in half a pineapple! The atmosphere is cozy and smiles all around!
Authentic, flavorful Thai food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere and decor is warm and cozy, with throw pillows in each booth for extra comfort. Red cloth napkins shaped into roses at each table add an upscale, romantic feel. Spring rolls were tasty and crunchy. Pad See Ew noodles were perfect consistency and taste homemade. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommend!
Great food, great service , Very good Pad Kra Prow Gai Sub , Shrimp Papaya Salad and Pad Kra-Tiem. You can tell it was fresh. The inside looks so beautiful and home feeling.
This is how Thai cuisine should be. The new owners (who are extremely kind!) went the extra mile to bring in new Thai chefs and wow. Skill combined with fresh authentic ingredients resulted in high quality dishes that were delicious and perfectly prepared. Well done Hug Baan Thai! I would definitely recommend everyone who wants an authentic Thai meal to give them a try. Five stars at the very least.
I've been going to Sala Thai for 25 years. I moved to Los Angeles (which has an area literally called Thai Town), and their Gaeng Gai (red curry chicken) is still my favorite Thai dish. I came back to town and had to make a stop. We arrived and I saw it has a new name, Hug Baan Thai (inside, the big sign out front still says Sala Thai) and asked about it. The new owner said he just bought it from the original owner, who retired. I was concerned the food would taste different, but it's just like I remember it. Still the best.
This Restaurant is awesome!!
Not only is the food great but the owners/staff are very friendly and hospitable. As well the place is beautiful inside. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The only reason I didn't give the food 5 stars is because I would have liked the 'portion' to have been bigger - but o well...
This spot is so beautiful. It has such a cozy atmosphere that perfectly matches the warmth of the food. Iβm vegan and itβs so hard to find a spot that serves good authentic food that I can enjoy as well. The food tastes as if itβs home cooked. I had the pleasure of meeting Susie the owner and she is just the most sweetest and charming thing ever. If you are looking for a cozy warm meal this is the place. If you get the chance to, I recommend you sit down and eat. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.
