A Thai restaurant (location in Forest Hill area) with a full service bar. Our beer & wine are available for purchase to go.
Here’s what we ordered ⬇️
🔶 SP2. Curry Noodle , wide rice noodle | egg | shrimp | chicken | bamboo| water chestnut
| pea pod | carrot | coconut yellow curry | lime | crushed peanut (medium spice level), $16
🔷 F3. Fried Rice. House special kow pad , shrimp | chicken | rice | egg | cashew | broccoli |pea pod |
peas&carrot | onions | sweet chili | brown sauce $16
🔶 Crab Wonton, $7
🔷 Spring roll, $4
✅ Free, easy, and convenient parking 🅿️ (strip mall)
✅ Reasonably priced food
✅ Good portion sizes
✅ Good customer service. Our server was a teenage guy who has only been working there for 2 days but was striving to do a good job.
✅ The food was prepared and served quickly
🧐 The appetizers came out at the same time as the food and the crab wontons were cold. I asked for them to be remade and they did it without a problem.
🧐 The texture and taste of the chicken in my Kow pad dish was weird. I wouldn’t order a dish with chicken again.
At the time of posting, we (party of two) dined here once on June 6, 2024 around 6:30 pm.
Food is good, in person service is good, online ordering is terrible. If you order online, know that your food will continually be shifted down the priority list based on the way the system works. Save your time and order over the phone or order in person so that you actually end up in the correct spot in line. I recommend everything about this place except the online ordering.
For the love of god, don’t order takeout from Little Bangkok Thai. We had to wait over two hours for our takeout because they don’t prioritize takeout and kept bumping our order further and further down the list. We ended up waiting in person, and the servers wouldn’t let us cancel and order in person in order to get our food in a more timely manner. When we finally got out food right before they closed my noodles were a giant over-cooked blob and there were hardly any vegetables or chicken. Do not recommend.
Thai is one of our favorite cuisine. This place is nicely renovated after the fire accident. Portions are generous and price is reasonable. The only problem i have is the flavor and spice level differing each time we visit. It is either hit or miss, lacks consistency. Fried rice was the most greasy of all. Soup is kind of standard in flavor. Also the chicken sate is a must.
6/19/2019 - one more visit and this time it was a hit !! Loved both green curries & fried rice. Soup tastes the best.
I really enjoyed the food at this place! The fresh rolls were indeed refreshing and came with a delicious crunchy peanut sauce. My friend loves the pad Thai, and I got the drunken noodles which I really enjoyed - the sauce is slightly sweet, savory and tangy. Great service too. Would definitely come back!
Been coming here for years and I never call to complain to places, but I paid over $15 for the Pad Pak and there was no chicken, barely any vegetables, it looked like someone had already eaten most of it. I tried to call and explain and see if there was some kind of explanation and got a voicemail. Wow. Lost a long time customer. So so disappointing
My pad Thai was fantastic.
Muy bueno todo, pad cashew impresionante, comería ahi todos los días, puro aroma asiático

Their online ordering system defaults to 1.5 hours in the future so your order will never be ready. They don’t seem to understand, or they don’t care, either way, terrible experience.
The restaurant's hours say that they are open until 9 PM. We showed up at 7:45 (the open sign on) and the hostess inside told us that they are closing early "just for tonight" while we saw plenty of people still at their tables eating.
Consistently excellent food and service!

For Americanized Thai, Little Bangkok is as good as it gets. I'm a regular, have been for years.
Healthy eating prices reasonable.
If your call goes to voicemail don’t give up. Keep calling until you get an answer. It’s worth the effort. Our favorite takeout in Grand Rapids.
Nice place with good service and a nice atmosphere. However, 4 of us all ordered pad Thai, 3 were very good, but my wife's was WAY too salty. So there is definitely an issue with the consistency of quality of their food. In hind sight she should have sent it back. Disappointing.
First off, this restaurant chain has the most asinine hours I’ve ever seen. They are rarely open when I call. Also, the chain doesn’t operate under one website. Each location has its own site, which brings me to my issue. After waiting a half hour to order my food, I was finally able to place an order online. But it turns out I was on the website for the location all the way across town. I asked the location I meant to order from if I could get my food at their location, and they said not unless I want to pay again. I called the Forest Hills location and asked if I could get my $40 back. They said no. I told the guy I wanted to talk to my bank. I even said, thank you. My bank said I could dispute it (which I will be doing), but I was hungry enough to do the long drive across town in rush hour traffic to get my food. I called them back to verify there weren’t any other hiccups in my order, and they sent me to voicemail three times (which is full). What an incredibly disappointing experience!
Food was really good for the price (entrees $15-20) and spice level was accurately described ("hot" level is about like the hottest sauce you can get at a typical grocery store, but there are levels hotter than that I think super spice and hot sauce enthusiasts would be satisfied with). Only problem was takeout on a weekend is about 45 minutes until pickup but I think they put the rice in the box right away. An hour later after it finally gets to you the rice is dry, crunchy and inedible. Either that was the issue or the rice cooker was broken but other than that it's five star.
Food very good. Coconut ice cream is fantastic! Only complaints was a hair in my salad....ugh always happens to me....and an employee spraying a cleaning solution at the table next to me traveled to my arm and I hope didn't get on my food. That was disappointing.
Great service & amazing food! The crab wontons are the best I’ve ever had.
Egg rolls were burnt and greasy. Pad Thai was all white and boring. Where were the green onions? Fried rice had so much sauce in it all I could taste was salt. Had not been for awhile. I am guessing new owners or chef. Disappointing.
All of our meals were delicious! The drunken noodles were perfect and so was the pad Thai with tofu 😋

At the restaurant as I type this. We have been waiting for our order for more than 20 minutes. And I don't know how much longer. Not happy.
Food is delicious and fairly priced. Service is friendly. This is our go-to Thai place. We eat there a few times a month, at least. The only challenge is choosing something else to eat on the menu because I like my go-to so much it’s hard to pass it up.
Always great food and service. Also a wide range of spiciness for most meals and they're very careful when asking for the level of spice you want. It's always been just the level I wanted
Never write reviews, but the astonishing service me and my partner had dining in has to be told to someone! Everyone has a very welcoming smile and personality, happy to explain the menu and keep your water topped off throughout your dining experience! Very affordable for the food they offer and their coconut ice cream is a MUST try. Our server, (believe her name was Claudia) was nothing but perfect. Thank you for an amazing time for a quick bite to eat!
Best pad thai I've ever had!
The food here is exceptional!! If the service is a tad slow it’s due to the fact that they have so many take out orders! It’s all worth the wait! Best Thai in town!🤗
The food is fabulous! The vegetables are fresh and prepared perfectly in delicious, well-balanced sauces. Complimentary soup is served with each meal, and the Bancok spring rolls are a must!
Best Thai restaurant in GR love going here!!
I ordered the chicken pad thai for takeout and it did not disappoint. So tasty and the perfect amount of heat. They made it super easy to order online and it was ready really quickly. Would highly recommend, I’ll be back again for sure!
Best Thai in GR. Worth the drive.
Best pad see ew in GR area. Wonderful service.
Awesome food and service!
It's always a good sign to see a place spilling out the ears with people these days. The food tastes authentic (I'm no expert, but like good food), and the service is great. Booming takeout counter, if you order during dinner rush, dont expect your food to be ready in 5 min lol. Zero complaints from us though!
Quick service, large portions of good food, friendly staff. You also dont have to deal with the horrendous Ada traffic. What more could you want?
Great little spot, food was good both times we went.
I used to go there a lot before the fire a few years ago. This is really my first time going back. I ordered "mild" spicy on chix fried rice, which is the least amount of spice next to nothing, and if THIS is mild, I would hate to even try anything spicer. I like spice, but this is too hot for fried rice. All I see in the rice is the peppers. But of course, according to their menu, they are not responsible for you ordering it "too spicy"...I will not be back. Disappointing.
F3 ... best item on the menu! Great place, great food and service! Highly recommended!
Best Thai food around. Good drinks. Great service. Not a "cozy" atmosphere though.
I hadn't been there for a while. The place is bigger and the food is better. I added red curry to my Pad Thai and it was awesome, best I ever had.
Meal took forever and my daughter was given a bowl with two sharp chips on it. Waitress was irritated that I requested a bowl that wouldn’t cut my child.
Best Thai in GR!
So good! The spring rolls are all you need to order to be happy, but the food is amazing too. Had a chicken pad pak and it was amazing. Very busy, but food came out quickly. Affordable prices.
This is a great establishment!!!
We love this Thai place. We’ve tried all the Thai places in town and this is our favorite. Their food is super fresh. The menu is simple and has great Thai dishes. All their ingredients are always fresh. We usually get takeout once a week. Never fails. Try the drunken noodles, and kow pad curry. Their soups are always super tasty as well! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was good but curry sauce was too thick. Waitresses seemed overwhelmed. Lots of business. Cute and quiet atmosphere simple .
Food is not great. The fried spring rolls are awful. The atmosphere is very cold; not comfy at all.
Claudia is a wonderful waitress and took excellent care of us. She is so knowledgeable about Thai food and willing to share her love of Thai food. We will return very soon.
Best I’ve had in all my years and all my travels.
What a wonderful, friendly Thai restaurant! I ordered 2 large trays, one of Beef Khao Phat and one of Beef Kee Mao for a family get-together. Since our get-together was on a Sunday, I picked the trays up on Saturday afternoon. Someone took the time to type out detailed instructions on how to reheat the food so it would be at its absolute best and even wished a happy birthday to my son-in-law at the end of the instructions. The manager was a great help to me when I ordered the trays, and a nice young man even carried the trays out to my car when I picked them up as they were somewhat heavy. Oh, my goodness! The food was absolutely delicious! We all loved it!! Highly recommend this wonderful, family-oriented Thai restaurant!!

Delish. Been here twice & enjoyed the meal both times.
Very nice staff & amazing food. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out :)
Here’s a tip - come in to order take out in person and sit at the bar to wait with a Thai beer served in a chilled glass.
Excellent food and friendly service - highly recommend any dish with the peanut curry sauce.
No question the best Thai food in the area!
Incredibly kind and professional staff and absolutely delicious Pad Thai!
Nice meal, large portions, hot food, delicious.
I had a nice lunch here awhile ago. The soup they brought me in the beginning of the meal was great. 5/5.
Great place for some Thai food! Very friendly wait staff as well!
This was our first time visiting and this place is great!
We were a chatty, indecisive group and our waitress handled it with endless amounts of patience. She answered questions kindly and with enthusiasm. I am always adamant that the service can make or break a restaurant experience.
The food was also delicious. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and we enjoyed the crab rangoons so much that we ordered a second round.
Absolutely planning a return visit!
We like to come here on weekends when we have a craving for Thai food. It’s cozy, pretty and excellent prompt service. The dishes are authentic and spicy as you like, great selection of beers including Singh Ha. A real jewel in Cascade/Ada, and easy on the pocketbook too.
I went to Little Bangkok with friends to celebrate a birthday. We decided to split several dishes and go family style. Every single dish was delicious (well, the fried tofu didn't taste like anything, but that's kind of tofu's thing, right? And it came with more peanut sauce, so.....). I feel like we've had bad luck with Thai in Grand Rapids (we usually go to Zeeland), so it's nice to know there is a pretty good place close to home. Unfortunately, since we were doing the family style thing, we didn't have a chance to try the soup. I look forward to trying it next time.
This is my first time back since lockdowns and I have to say, I am underwhelmed. Not enough food for too much money. I get that bidens inflation is kicking everyone's butt BUT $23 should get you more food than it does there.
The quality is still superb. Does not match the cost though.
It's all good all the time! Our favorite dining spot when visiting Grand Rapids.
Warning if ordering from Little Bangkok….do NOT use their online ordering system!!!! Absolute WORST service on this side of town. I placed a simple online order of one entree and one appetizer for my daughter at 5:40pm on a Wednesday night. I did not receive my order until 7:50pm. As I sat at the bar for 40+ minutes, I watched others place take out orders in person and receive them before me. One take out order took 20 minutes. Why does an online order get zero priority over take out or phone orders???? I asked and it’s a ‘different’ system.
Excellent place for very good Thai food
Always great Thai food ,fast friendly service.
Great flavor, and portion. We asked for (Hot) on their spicy options, it was just like Thai restaurants we’ve to outside of the US. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.
Always fast and fresh. Go to Thai spot in town.
I've never had bad food here. The pad thai is the best I've ever had and the drunken noodle is also amazing. Always good service. Nice atmosphere as well.
Went here for my nephew's 20th birthday surprise party
I really enjoyed the food at this place! The fresh rolls were indeed refreshing and came with a delicious crunchy peanut sauce. My friend loves the pad Thai, and I got the drunken noodles which I really enjoyed - the sauce is slightly sweet, savory and tangy. Great service too. Would definitely come back!
Definitely recommend the food was amazing. The servers all had great customer service. Great atmosphere
Food is the best! Not badly priced for the portion size. Always been treated well, whether dining in or taking out.
Delicious food, I would eat here everyday if I could.
Their house special know pad is the best I've had in GR! The crab wontons they have are amazing as well! They taste like they're homemade with quality ingredients.
Excellent crab rangoons Delicious peanut sauce 5 star customer service I recommend the acid noodles and John is the best server hopefully you get his table he really hooks you up! YUM 😋
Its a very nice friendly place with great food!
Very good. The Papaya salad was yummy not overpowering sauce, ordered mild should of gotten medium heat.
Never go! The waitress was rude. Couldn't get a menu. We got up and left. There were only 4 other people there yet the waitress would only give us one menu.
Good food, but difficult to order. We placed an online order. When I started the order, the estimate was 50 minutes for the food to be ready. Once I submitted my order it was 90 minutes. 5 minutes after I submitted my order I got an email stating that "Little Bangkok has not yet approved your order. Please call them about your order status." So, I called them. It rang a few times and went to voicemail, but the voicemail box was full. After trying multiple times, over and over, someone finally picked up. The food itself was fine, other than over cooked chicken satay.
Good thai food. Assorted dishes.
Never had Thia before. It was great food. Staff friendly and answered questions about the dishes
My food was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I ordered it mild. I told the waitress and she said they are not responsible for the spicy foods. She said next time order the spice on the side. There will not be a next time!
Thought we were going to freeze to death inside. The outside temperature was 79 inside the a/c was full force on the whole time we were there. I thought my food was good and was spiced medium but my wife said her dish was so spicy she could hardly eat it, she left more than half uneaten. Service started out slow but got progressively better as the meal progressed. So bottom line a mixed experience.
The absolute worst at answering their phones to order.
Good food, friendly staff, pleasant surroundings, well stocked bar, very good service especially since they were very busy.
Always consistent. So good
Consistently yummy authentic grub. Be careful if asking for it hot, better ask for "American Hot" if you don't know what you are getting into.
The staff was excellent, great suggestions on food and beverages. Quick service.
I just ordered from here and I really didn't enjoy the food this time. I don't know what it was, but seems like it was cooked differently. The main dish had a soapy taste, and it didn't seem cooked well. Seems like it was rushed. The vegetables were way light and the steak was tough. My husband drove way out of the way to give them money and the food was disappointing. We paid over $40 for a sloppy meal, could have gone a Million places while getting to you, but chose your business. Please put more care into the food or hire a new cook. I will not be back again!
Best Thai food. The spice levels mentioned was no joke . I ordered the hot and the food was genuinely spicy and delicious ! The green curried fried rice and Tom kha soup were top notch .
Got the Chicken fried rice. Most excellent. Choose med spice and will add heat with rich flavors. A very good choice indeed.
Very unprofessional. Maybe they have good food but I wouldn't know. I called at 6:30 to place an order. They took my phone number, told me it would be about an hour and a half, and said they would send a text when it's ready for pick up. I waited until 8:00 and still didn't receive a text, so I went there. They told me they had no orders under my name. If you're not taking more orders, just say that 🤷♀️
Yummy food!
I usually call for pickup. They keep a record of what I ordered last, which is convenient for people like me... Its hard to recall what I had for breakfast, let alone what I ordered last week. Great food
Favorite Thai spot in town
Great staff, service, and food
Got ripped off. I ordered 1 pad thai with curry sauce and 1 spring roll. Should have been $15 and they charged me $19.30. I questioned the price and he told me prices that where different than what the menu says.
Thai hot. Not just "west-Michigan hot"
Food is always good when you can actually order food. Called at 5:30 for take out and they said it would take an 1 hour and 45 min until it was ready. Really?!? I could see 30 min or even 45 min… but it’s almost like they don’t want the business. I told them no thanks. I know restaurants are having difficulty finding help but how can you not fulfill a very small to go order for almost 2 hours. Not a good business model. Very unfortunate because as I said the food is great.
The food is great, don’t get me wrong, but the service could be a bit better. If you plan on ordering to go, you may suffer an annoyingly amount of time trying to get through the phone to talk to someone. Their voicemail has been full for the longest time. I called the place about 17 times before I could finally get through to someone without being sent to voicemail right away. At that point I was about to give up, but my gf loves the food so I kept trying…
Other than my sub par experience with the “call ahead” service, the food is good. Can’t find a better Thai restaurant around town that has the best flavorful dishes.
The food is great but never can catch them on a appropriate time. Always at least 45min wait on to go order. It seems like they do not want to take to go orders at all. Last time I called they told me hour and 45 and said they just happend to be busy. It was a Monday night. So sad...
I Love their satay chicken
Best Thai food in GR at a great price.
Extremely tasty!
Pad see ew is my go-to Thai food, but it was terrible here. Go to “Little Bangkok Thai” in Wyoming instead, it’s way better.
Delicious food!!
Decent Thai food. I think it a dollar or two too much for the lunch specials....then again I am a cheap Dutchman and probably should just get used to these prices. I would definitely recommend this place for someone looking to get Thai.
A staple in our household!
Little Bangkok is our favorite place for Thai food in the Forest Hills area. The food is always delicious with quick and friendly service.
The food seemed different and I was a little disappointed. Maybe I was just off that night.
Great Thai place. Both the country kow pad and kow pad curry were really good. If you like spicy, this is a good place for you 🌶️ - but they offer milder options as well.
Fresh and delicious. Caution though, medium can be quite hot. The flavors are so good! A little heat sweat is worth the tastes!
Great quality and service. Been there multiple times, always consistently good.
Food is always awesome. Prices are fair. Service is quick for takeout. Only issue is their phones. It’s often busy and you have to keep calling to get through.
I did carry out for lunch and the wait time was only 15 minutes. I had crab wantons and the basil pad curry with chicken and the hot spice level. The veggies are excellent quality and cooked perfectly. I like the long thin strips of chicken and the ideal amount of red curry sauce. The heat levels seem right on par for what they should be. Inside has a few four top tables and the bar had a nice selection. I'll have to come back for a drink some evening.
Excellent food!
Best Thai Food in Grand Rapids. 10/10 recommend. My usual order is the medium spiced chicken Pad Thai with an extra Lime. Take out dish is about 10$. Anytime I am close to the Foresthill's location or the Wyoming location I stop in. I have had other entrées on the menu, and I have not been disappointed yet.
Amazing food! Fantastic Pork Pad Thai! Crab and Cheese wontons were a solid 9/10. So many great flavors and large portions. They also have Asian Imported Beer.
Sweet and sour curry was too sweet to eat. Thai iced tea was not up to the mark.
It was tasty and friendly. No complaints, but only a quick lunch so I can't give a detailed review.
The spice is nice.
