Local chain spot preparing noodles, stir-fries & other familiar Thai dishes in a low-key space.
Tried No Thai a few times over the past couple of weeks, and it’s been great. Food is awesome and comes out pretty quick. I will say it is packed on game day Saturdays though, weekdays are much better in terms of waiting in line. Decent serving size for the amount I paid. Recommend it.
No Thai was my first ever Thai restaurant I’ve been to. I had the gang pak red curry and rice with shrimp. It came out in just minutes and was absolutely delicious when I took a bite of it. The portions are huge for the prices. It’s a shame that I don’t live here or I’d come here everyday!
I'm not sure why this place gets so much hype; maybe because it's one of the few Thai places in Ann Arbor (which is odd in itself). I've had so much better Thai food in so many other places. That being said, the speed 💨 and price 💰 of this place makes it very convenient for college students, thereby raising my overall score.
Friendly staff and EXTREMELY quick service. My order is usually ready within a few minutes of ordering. Sometimes my order is ready before I even have a chance to sit down after ordering. I’d highly recommend the Shrimp Pad Thai. The amount of food you get is incredible for the price, and is delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for Thai food in Ann Arbor.
Food is really good 90% of the time, the other 10% of the time it’s just not cooked right (not enough spice or too much spice, under or overcooked, taste is off by a lot, etc) The employees are friendly enough. They don’t seem super enthusiastic about their job but they aren’t rude or off putting in any way. No Thai is a good once a week lunch for me since it’s really expensive now. I remember when a Pad Thai Curry and spring rolls was under $15. Now it’s $20+ and they throw that tip request at you when paying by card. Hopefully their quality and consistency gets a little better someday but it’s been this way for years so I’m not expecting that to really ever happen.
The food is great. The only issue is they stiff you on the portion when ordering to go. Sweet and spicy chicken when dining in is a ridiculous amount, but when you get it to go, it's 1/3 of the size. Tested and proven. Not sure why they feel the need to short me on their delicious chicken. Maybe order in, then pack it up to go yourself.
Beware, all No Thai! Restaurants are NOT the same. This location (South U.) is the BEST place to get your thai food in town, it’s phenomenal. In contrast, the South Main location has been truly awful. We’ve had Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles from both locations, and it’s shocking how different the quality is between two restaurants. Despite the South U. location being further away from me, I’ll go here anytime compared to South Main.
Good old reliable
The food is always delicious, a weekly staple for me and my coworkers!
Love this spot

Drunken noodles and #14 Sweet spicy chicken are my go to entrees. Nogi rolls 🔥🔥🔥

As an south East Asian, I like their potato curry the most. The tofu menu is surprisingly good!
My coworkers & I go here a lot. Recked em, damn near killed em. There food is SO GOOD. Carefully around the eyes tho
Fast service and yummy food. I did find the weak spice level to be pretty spicy, more like a medium.
not the worst but so so bland, for a thai place it seriously lacks any spice. i ordered fried rice at yoga flame just to play it safe but it tastes like nothing at all. their pad thai is a saving grace, though, so not horrible. i recommend if you're just looking for something to fill your stomach, but maybe steer clear of their fried rice lol
I order from here frequently for lunch! Portion size is absolutely generous! when it's delivered its quick, it's hot, it's tasty, and plentiful! Recommend highly!
One of my top 5 places to eat. The food always hits just right!

fast, convenient, tasty food
Have had good experiences here many times, but the last two times the chicken did not taste fresh (or at least tasted disgusting). For context, the times it was bad was when I went in the morning. I do not want to get food poisoning so I will not be going here in the future.

Has easily become one of my favorite lunch spots. Easy walk from work mixed with the delicious food and amazing service. I never get the name of the cashier but he always makes my day with his simple direct-ness. Plus everyone around generally talks at an indoor level and there's always different seating avaliable.
Pretty good stir fry / noodles with large portions and prepared very quickly. Best for take-out when in a hurry.
How the hell did no Thai forget to put BEEF in my drunken fried rice😭
Quick food very close to UMich central campus. Fairly affordable.
No Thai is quintessential Ann Arbor. The food here is excellent. I’ve always been a fan of the potato curry but the drunken noodles are great too
That's crazy food, love it
So busy, but it is so good!!!
Green Thai has no coconut milk in it, so it’s just like a salty sweet liquidy sauce. Tofu is all fried. None of it felt like actual Thai food
Great food, fast, reasonable price! Cash discount is nice. No cash discount anymore 🥺
They handle rushes very well
Drunken noodle is pretty good. Spring rolls are just average though compared to Chinese ones
The woman who took my order over the phone was nice but the food was really lackluster - missing eggplant, undercooked stir-fry veggies, and overcooked tofu. If the dish is going to be lacking a key ingredient, it's good practice to let the customer know instead of just serving it without and hoping they won't notice.
Good cheap(ish) Thai food for college students. A go to for many UM students, and the line can get busy. The portion size for dine in vs take out are different: I think you get a bigger portion for dine in, and the food definitely tastes better when it's that warm. Prices are fairly reasonable for what you get for dine in or carryout, and always pretty yummy. Not really any new or crazy flavors, but good tried and true recipes. Appetizers are a bit overpriced, but good enough if you are really in the mood for spring rolls.
Go To's: Sweet & Spicy Chicken, Pad Seeyu, Pad Basil, Pad Pak
Other Good Options: Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Green Curry
I frequently order from this location, and it’s usually quite good. But tonight I received a Pad Thai that had no sauce, no spice, no peanuts, no lime. Nothing. It literally only had plain egg and plain noodles. Very sad :( No Thai usually makes me happy :( Not today :(
Costumer service is amazing, really welcoming and sweet. The place is pretty average for a Thai place but still nowadays it's hard to find food and I can tell you that this place has good food. Highly recommend it
Best Thai inspired cuisine in Washtenaw County! Hands down, the freshest ingredients, the nicest staff, and the best prices, plus the portion sizes are huge! By 2030, there will be No Thai! restaurants in several states, not just Michigan. These guys have a winning business model that deserves to be replicated elsewhere!
Love that they make good food and vegetarian options are so good. Made per order not just sitting around in a steamer.
One day mild is yoga flame, and another yoga flame is mild. Sometimes u see plastic in food or they get ur order wrong. Basically fails all restaurant protocol but people still pile in here and get their 12 dollar meals. I know I do. God bless no thai
Food was really nice
드렁큰 누들과 스윗스파이시 치킨 먹었고 둘다 아주 만족스러운식사였습니다.
사이드는 크랩원톤 먹엇습니다.
Kerry town's no thai potato curry 🍛 is better tbh.
Cashier very inattentive. Didn’t even get my order correct first time. Second time I came in, same cashier. Wouldn’t get off her cellphone. Waited a good 5 minutes and said politely “I’m ready to order”. She replied with “one minute”.
I left.
Sometimes it takes just one person to ruin an entire restaurant. Owner, I hope you read this comment and make adjustments. People in the area want quick in and out service. Can’t get that if you have someone who pays no mind to their assigned duty.
Poor customer service. They’ve messed up my order multiple times. The food here is also mediocre.
UPDATE:
Well..... I went back. Friends were going for lunch and I acquiesced. Dining in was a different experience and I felt that I received what I paid for and the food was tasty/well prepared.
TWO stars have been added back.
Original Post:
The name says it. No Thai food. For your $10, you'll be rewarded with a take out box that is 1/3 full. I ask for Dim Mak spicy and once more get candle wax. Bland and boring. This used to be my go to for Thai in A2, now it is rather a joke. I will not go back. Ever again.
Big health concern. My friend and I got food poisoning symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, and fever after eating meal #8. Tried to contact the restaurant but nobody replied. Don't recommend to anyone.
Good food, Great Services
Fantastic & delicious fast food. Why eat from a huge chain when you can have something delicious and much more nutritious here?! The bowls are phenomenal. Rice bowl with shrimp was fantastic and low heat option was tasty without burning out my anglo taste buds, and prices didn't burn a hole in my wallet either. Highly recommend.
Went in an hour before they closed, the place was packed. They had my relatively large order ready in less than 10 mins.
Spicy Chicken is so nice!
I get food from here often and while it's not as good as Thai food at a sit down resteraunt, it is cooked fast and a reasonable charge for the price. My only problem is the spice levels seem to be very inconsistent with the spice recieved.
Extremely fast, extremely delicious!
Good food. Will be back.
Edited 1yr later: really disappointed in the quality decline of no thai. The protein tastes disgusting, no matter what you choose (unless tofu). Especially the beef tastes like it has been uncovered in a fridge for 3 weeks. Sad to see a place like this go downhill (especially when the prices themselves have increased almost 20%). 0/10.
Not getting a better value anywhere for $10 so good
Hot, fresh and delicious food. You can have a table at the place or you can grab and go. I found "No Thai" a great fast food.
quick service, cost effective, delectable cuisine....must visit
Food is cooked in front of you. And you are immediately called to pick it up so it is hot. The flavors are fresh!
All my friends have a story about the disgusting food they've received from No Thai. It's incredible that they are still in business.
Service is ridiculously fast
Minus the rude staff member that was so bothered by helping us, the food was fantastic.
Good food, love the medium sauce. Employees could be friendlier.
Best No Thia in the area.
As a Thai this restaurant certainly not Thai authentic foods. It is designed to be western-friendly somehow I am into it. The food also super fast.
The food is flavorless and the beef is tough.
I also got diarrhea from the food. Do not eat here.
Extremely quick and pretty good!
Excellent food and friendly service
Food is really good and for a reasonable price
Fast, good food. Choose protein and spice level.
Fast preparation and friendly staff!!
Fast, cheap, tasty and large portions. The perfect combo for a college town staple.
3 stars for all the great food I've had but today was a miss. Chicken was over cooked dry as hell and I asked for it spicy, there's hardly any sauce. Probably new staff but damn
Great place
Awsome food great prices my go to every sunday.
Never disappoints! I'd suggest the potato curry. Ask for broccoli instead if green peppers. MWAH! Yes it's that good. One of my favorite places to eat.
Typically have enjoyed this place. Today my egg roll was still cold, like frozen. Hoping this is just a one-time thing
Quick good food. Parking can be a issue on weekday's
I stopped by here to pick up a carry out. The food is great and the drunken noodles were great.
Fast affordable good.
First time here pretty impressed! I got the drunken noodles hot, fried rice with the pineapples, and crab wontons. The drunken noodles were on point 9/10. The crab wontons were also on point 8/10. I was however disappointed with the rice after the other entrees were so good 4/10. Overall though I'm very pleased. Not many thai places in the area and this one does a good job!
There's a 5% chance they pick up the phone each time you call and a 30% chance it tastes like thai food.
it's not exactly what I would call thai food but for fast food it's good
This place never disappoints! Amazing food and a reasonably short wait time. Highly recommended.
Love it here
Brighton location you order out or you can eat in their cafeteria area with self serve soft beverages. Large acrylic dishes adequate enough, forks or chopsticks. Background/foreground (lol)🎶🎵 music
makes the 15 or so minutes you wait for your order easier to bear. Pad Cashew Chicken weak sauce was really good with just hi t of heat. Husband liked Drunken Noodles and the heat his had at mild. He generally orders things pretty hot.
Met Steve the owner. Really nice guy that cares about making your orders perfect.
No Thai is a good restaurant and a very popular place for UMich students to get a quick bite of food. The restaurant gives you decent quality Thai food at a decent price. The portion sizes they give are pretty big so the deal is no bad even though the price itself is not necessarily super cheap.
Good Thai good! Noodles better than rice!
They didn’t put the top on all the way. Spilled all over my backpack. Also just really subpar Thai food.
I eat here because I want to hurt myself.
Here are my thoughts on No Thai (all the stores in general):
-Fastest Asian food on campus.
-Also, the worst service on campus.
-Think of the worst fast food place. That’s what No Thai is for Thai food. It’s kind of an insult for Thailand's culture to call this Thai food.
-Quality is horrible given the price is usually around $11
-They will mess up the weak sauce with the strongest one sometimes because, again, terrible service.
-I still eat here for the same reason I still eat at McDonald’s. You know it’s bad for you, but you hate yourself sometimes and want to die.
No Thai is a pretty quick place on campus for you to get a decent meal at an average price. You cannot go wrong with the sauces since they add different spice levels. Honestly, I've never had lower than medium but the medium doesn't really even have spice in it so don't be afraid to try them out.
Very nice food!
The food is always good
Love this place! "Thai inspired" food (not traditional), made to order. You choose the dish, spice level and protein (tofu available), most are served with white rice (brown rice on request for $1 extra). Sooooo good. Also love the "Thai Iced Tea", it's SUPER sweet, but nice compliment to spicy food. Vegetarian is possible, not sure about vegan, lots of possible cross contact with allergens (nuts, shellfish, etc. - listed on the wall menu). Personal fave is Potato Curry with tofu and brown rice. Mmmmm... UPDATE: No loss of stars, but FYI, the potato curry is *NOT* vegetarian! The "vegan green curry" is the *only* vegetarian sauce available.
Absolutely horrible. I had ordered a Pad Cashew dish with Tofu as the protein. The quantity was miserably less (as compared to other outlets)but that’s not the worst part. The food had gone bad in ten minutes. The food smelled. if only I could go back and asked them to taste their own food. Extremely disappointed.
I will not give any more business to this company and will advise others to do so. There are several other restaurants around, if possible visit those but not this one.
Cheap and easy. THE place to go when you want pad Thai at midnight
Solid!
Awesome stir fry!
Really good food
Fabulous Thai. Always worth the walk.
Good for lunch. Quick and reasonably priced. Large portions and flavoursome. Only complaint is the cornstarch. The recyclable containers are good.
Good
This place is fairly unreliable. One day, you will get a well cooked dish (relative to things they make/provide, not to 'quality' thai rest.), other days, the food will be terrible. Today, I got drunken fried rice that had the consistency of overcooked oatmeal. It was so bad, you'd think they've never cooked rice before.
Giving up -- not going back.
Fast-casual college staple for Thai food. Will hit the spot with flavors and spice if you're craving them.
No Thai is my go-to place for quick service and great food. My favorite dish is the Sweet & Spicy chicken. Sometimes they are a little off on their spice estimates (sometimes I want it more spicy than it turns out). Overall though, highly recommend.
It's out favorite place when we don't have a preference
Good for a quick bite.
No Thai is tasty food for a reasonable price (though certainly not a value by any stretch of the imagination). Service was quick even with meal rush traffic. I've never had a plate I didn't enjoy. Definitely worth trying.
Decent food, average customer service
Ugh yes
Good thai food with nice standardized choices. Quick service too. About 10 bucks for most stuff. Reminds me of Portland's Thai food 🙂
