Recently tried this place for the first time and went back again the same week! The food is yummy and inexpensive. A major plus is the service—the quickest I’ve ever experienced. The staff are also nice. I had nooo complaints either time I visited.

The samosa pockets are delicious! I had the Worcester volcano (purple rice only) the first time I went and ordered it again the second time. 100% recommend.

Very friendly service, we were seated right away. Robust menu with many choices, but in the end, I resolved to Beef Crazy Noodles.

The beef was tender and not overcooked. The Noodles were large and full-bodied. The carrots were cooked with the right amount of squish and crunch. And the sauce was packed full of flavor. The right balance of sweet and spicy. Oh yes, the increasing heat, the more you eat.

I like a dish with some kick as long as it is not overbearing. This gave me that familiar sweat on the brow where I took a small break every 4th bite or so. This was a powerhouse of flavor and punch.

The Server was attentive. The food was delicious. It came so fast. And the 3 sauces on the cart I’m still thinking about at home. I even called to ask what the name of the one chili sauce was. I’m still looking for it! The atmosphere was quiet and clean. They also had customized dishes like Violet rice, spicy basil pad Thai, and lion noodles.

My favorite part of our meal was probably the sampler appetizer platter, which has a bunch of (mostly fried) items and 3 sauces. The lad nar was filling and flavorful. Some of the seafood in the pad see-u lacked seasoning and was hard to chew, however there were plenty of noodles and veggies to make up for it. The Thai tea was less sweet than some other places I’ve tried, which is preferable for me. Our server was really helpful and talked us through the flavors of a few of the dishes we have never tried before. I think I’d come back to try something else.

I've ordered take out from here countless times and it's one of the few places where I don't mind spending on. I've traveled to Thailand and the kitchen staff cooks as if they were cooking for their families - delicious flavours and piping out. Heat is adjustable to preference but some spice is always the way to go!

My top recommended dishes are:
Khao Soi!!
Crazy noodles - I prefer the vegetables because the tofu puffs are fried perfectly
Three flavoured fish - sweet, sour, savoury... delicious

Great first time dining experience. Great customer service. Our ordering was perfect. All questions were addressed. We made changes to the sampler since we had 3 n veg and 1 veg in the group. Great food portions and made with fresh flavors. Loved every bite. Cashewnut stir fry with vegetables and tofu was too good. Kids loved the sampler as they wanted to try a little bit of everything. Definitely going back again to try other times from the menu. It was exactly 7 mins walk from Hanover theater. A little bit chilly but worth the walk.

Food is actually very good, but desert is not. The samosa bags are wonderful. Pad Tai is also fresh and tasty. The banana egg rolls a little dry. Mango with sticky rice is just cut up mango and rice with coconut souce on the side. It is not bad but not actual desert.

Hey, this is her son. The banana rolls were okay and the pad Tai was to die for. Be warned: sticky rice and the coconut sauce was NOT GOOD. Loved the samosa bags. You could just chomp em in one bite. 9/10 would get pad Tai here again.

Nice and quiet, not cramped at all, food came out really fast, and the portion sizes were great! The food was all delicious--my pregnant wife has been grossed out by all meat recently but went to town on the duck Choo chee and Rama duck! She is Thai, and was a huge fan of everything we had. Also a great Thai iced. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!

I bit into a screw that was inside a eggroll. Rice violet used to be a fan favorite in the house but I’m cautious now. I’m glad I didn’t swallow the screw on accident.

Very good food and a kind server. Lots of Vegan options. My girlfriend had a very good pad see ew, which they made with kale, an interesting twist. Very enjoyable though.

I get takeout from Rice Violet on average once a week at least. I am obsessed, I never get tired of it. I've tried a variety of menu items and all of them have been excellent. The Khao Soi is my favorite. Great portions, you get a lot of food for your money and everything is reasonably priced. When I have dined in the service is always amazing. Favorite place in Worcester!

Every time I eat here, either take out or in restaurant, the food is outstanding!! Consistently great! It's a casual atmosphere and the service is always excellent. My favorites are the red curry and the basil combo with chicken. And I always get the rice violet instead of the boiled white rice. Favorite apps are pork dumpling and crab rangoon. Sooo good. Favorite soup is the Tom Yum. Highly recommend you try this place for great Thai food.

I mostly get take out from here, and it is the best thai in Worcester. Their sister restaurant in West Boylston, Brown Rice, is also really good.

Rice Violet used to be a consistent 'go-to' when I was attending college in Worcester! To this day, I continue to stop at Rice Violet as I pass through MA. Highly recommend to those looking for great Thai!

Wonderful Thai restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff! Had the Chicken Salad (Lab Gai) and loved it! They were very accommodating of my request to leave out the toasted rice powder to keep it low carb, and offered me multiple free refills of my unsweetened ice tea too! Highly recommended!!

My first time here in Worcester, I found this place during my morning run and it's very close to my hotel, decided to try for lunch and I love it! I order seafood curry and Thai ice tea, the food is really good I love curry and it's really on point! The portion also more than enough for me. The Thai ice tea also perfect, not too sweet for me just the perfect sweetness and flavor. I'll come back here for sure when I visiting Worcester with my family in the next couples month.

Food was excellent and service was quick!

The food was fabulous, both the Tom Kha soup and both entrees we had (massaman curry with local scallops and their special seafood curry). Ambience was relaxed with large comfortable booths which especially suited us as we had time to linger before our train, and their was extra space for luggage.
As a vegan leaning pescatarian, I was especially happy to see so many veggie/vegan options.

We were going to see a show at the Palladium and were looking for a spot to nab a quick bite to eat. Located right off the parking lot we were in was Rice Violet, and so - as we all like Thai food - we stopped in.

The space itself looks like it is in need of an update. We we instructed to sit where we liked, so we sat in a booth and explored the menu.

I wasn't starving, so I decided to just get a couple of apps and a Thai Iced Tea. My wife decided on the Pad See Ew, and my friend opted for the pineapple fried rice.

The menu had pretty much everything you'd expect for a Thai place - noodle dishes, soups, curries - but as I said I wasn't super hungry and I didn't want leftovers to sit while we were at the show, so I decided on Samosa Bags and Chicken Satay.

The Chicken Satay was sufficient. It tasted like every other chicken satay I have ever had. The peanut sauce, once again expected, was competently prepared and was really tasty. The cucumber sauce thing that was also served with it wasn't really doing anything for me.

The Samosa Bags were the highlight. The filling was tasty, but the thing I loved was the format. Typically, samosas are served in a big pouch, and sometimes they can be too dry or too big. These samosas? They come in the same thin dough you'd expect for a spring roll - thin and crispy. The dipping sauce - a bit on the sweet side - was a good accompaniment.

Can I go on about the Samosa Bags endlessly? I could. They were perfect, and I will seek out similar snacklings in my various travels.

The Pad See Ew was good. The ideal mix of noodles and vegetables with protein, it made for excellent leftovers because my wife could not eat all of what they gave her.

The Thai Iced Tea was sweet and tasty, and having the option to add Boba was good.

Now for the bad.

We were almost done with our meals before our drinks came out. We had to remind our server that we ordered drinks. My tea was more of a dessert, and my friend's diet coke (in a can) arrived in time for him to not really want it anymore.

When we were ready to leave, it took a while to flag down our server again, and with the clock ticking down to the doors for the show we were going to see, we almost went up to the register to pay.

So, in summary: good food that arrived in a timely manner, drinks that arrived much later than desired, and a difficult time getting our server to attend to our needs.

If you are stopping in before a show, make sure to give some extra time, because it seems like they were short staffed and unable to deal with the large volume that comes with a sold out concert nearby.

Absolutely delicious! I always get the basil fried rice (w shrimp or scallops). You know what I really like about it? They don't skimp on the shrimp!! Listen again. They don't skimp on da shrimp! One more time for the people/restaurants in the back... Thank you, Rice Violet. The shrimp could use a little seasoning. But that is ok. I'm a fan overall. Keep doing your thing!

My sister suggested having dinner here when we were going to see a show down the street. There were lots of options on the menu, so it was easy to find something to try. Service was quick and friendly!

Service was great. My server could see I was cold and offered tea right away. It was perfect. Food came out quickly and was amazing. I had the crab Rangoon and pork fried rice. The rice had really tasty large pieces of pork. I would definitely recommend this place for any meal.

We have gotten take-out & delivery from Rice Violet a few times. Their food is very good ! I reccommend eating there or taking out. Spicy Rice, Spicy noodles with chicken was very good. Tea was very good & still 🔥 hot when delivered.
Crab rangoons are very good. Overcooked (Burn't) 1x, had to throw out the whole order. That is my only complaint. Chicken Satay is very good. Pineapple fried rice is also tasty. Beef dish was very good to ! I like that they deliver to ! Will keep going. 🙂👍👍👍

Delicious Thai veggie food

The restaurant was freezing cold. Definitely don't sit by the windows if you go. The vegetable dumplings were just okay. The spring rolls were also okay -- I'd order the vegetarian version because the chicken in the spring rolls tasted very weird. The entrees we got were also just alright. If the entree you order has egg in it, I'd suggest asking for it without egg because they use the yolk part of the egg and it has a very overpowering gross flavor.

MCPHS university students' often patronize has sufficient portion and good taste. We know the landlady. She is always nice. The restaurant is well organized. Easy to order and pick up.

Decent place. They have vegan options so anything on the menu can be made Vegan which is a super plus.
The taste was Average and quantity was decent.
I tried the dumplings and crazy noodles. Though it said medium spicy I felt it was more on the sweet end.

First time eating from here and first time the chicken in the pad thai steals the show. Usually when I order pad thai I just pick chicken or tofu as an after thought. VEGETARIAN HEAVEN!!

With a fish allergy, requested to have curry made without fish paste. My pallet has never thanked me more! Can enjoy the complimenting flavors of massaman curry and the delightful spice of yellow curry with tangy pineapple again. Tofu is always made perfectly too.

Some places don't cater to vegetarian diets, but Rice Violet listens, accommodates and delivers amazing quality veggie dishes.

I ordered a Thai fried rice from here, as well as a Thai iced tea and it is the most amazing fried rice I’ve had since I came to school in Massachusetts!!!I cannot wait to try more!

Food is very good, reasonably priced, and located in an easy to get to area of downtown Worcester. Good dining for lunch or dinner in a small or relatively large group too!

This place is special to me. I've had take out from them several times this pandemic quarantine. Always polite, kind, and good hot food so long as you order from their site directly and not through grub hub. Days that felt gloomy or stressful during months of lockdown were made better by their curry and rice dishes. Fantastic flavor and very filling. No left over curry sauce goes to waste- I'll grab a slice a bread just to mop it up lol

The food was so good! We got grilled tofu with peanut sauce, seaweed salad, soup with shrimp and noodles, beef yellow curry and pineapple beef fried rice. We shared every thing and couldn't believe how good it was!

The BEST Thai curry I've ever had!! I read the reviews on the food quality and decided to give it a shot despite the low rating reviews on service and time management. I'm happy to report the service was GREAT and fast! 100% would recommend.

Consistently good thai dishes here, good sized menu. Great if you work downtown and can over to here.
