My husband and I travel all over New England, and are connoisseurs of Thai cuisine. We stopped at this quaint little Thai restaurant, the Mea Thai. Great atmosphere, great service, and the food was delicious! We would recommend it, if you’re ever in the area.

We are rather disappointed in our experience this evening. This has been one of our favorite Thai restaurants in the area and the dishes have always been accurate and delicious. Tonight we ordered the Crispy Chicken Basil to go, which we have ordered several times before, with extra sauce. Unfortunately, the sauce was almost nonexistent, leaving the entire dish exceptionally dry. We called the restaurant to share our concerns, and were told that the chicken had absorbed all of the sauce, which has never happened with this particular dish the many other times we have enjoyed it. We are not pleased with this response, but we do hope that this review provides helpful feedback to the restaurant and prospective customers.

Even with few options for Thai food on the south shore, The Mea stands tall as the best quality Thai food every time. This is not a fusion restaurant trying to serve as many types of Asian cuisine as possible. They specialize in one thing and do it well. It’s got a unique menu with some classic Thai dishes, as well as some less common offerings that are worth trying.

Even the most common dishes like pad Thai or pad see ewe are exceptionally higher quality than any of the other Thai restaurants in town. Their pad Thai in particular does a wonderful job of balancing the flavors of sweet, salty, and acidic. I like to get mine just a little spicy. My other favorites from them include panang curry, pad kra pao, pad kee mao, moo ping, and tom kha. These dishes are all prepared consistently and well executed. Even with multiple visits, there are menu items I find myself wanting to try after seeing other people order them. There are several options for noodle dishes, including the coveted boat noodles which you don’t see too often at Thai restaurants on the east coast. If it’s in season, always get the mango sticky rice for the perfect dessert. I caution anyone from ordering anything at a spice level of 5, it’s intense and not for the faint of heart. I love spicy food but I don’t dare go beyond 2-3.

I appreciate the excellent service from the owners who are almost always in front of house helping customers. They are so friendly, great at making recommendations, and are always working hard to take care of the folks coming in. I’m always impressed that even when it’s busy that they’re still pleasant and hard working. After trying several other local Thai restaurants, this one stands out far beyond the others as the gold standard.

Definitely some of the best Pad Thai I have had.
The juicy dumplings are good (soup dumplings), Pad Thai is definitely recommended. We got the Sweet and Sour Chicken and garlic chicken stir fry which both were good.
Tried 2 other noodles and then weren’t the best we had so we are gonna stick with the pad Thai.
Don’t forget the Thai iced tea 👍🏼

This restaurant previously got 5 stars from me but tonight was a disaster. I ordered dinner at 5:30pm from DoorDash. The food was supposed to be here by 6:30pm. I’m taking care of a newborn and super hungry so by 7pm I contacted the DoorDash driver and he said that the guy at the front was profiling him and refusing to give him the food. I called the restaurant and the guy on the phone was SO RUDE. Completely disrespectful and just told me to cancel my order. He didn’t care about wasting 30 minutes of the drivers time. There were other people getting their orders but not him. I asked how much longer the food would take (it’s one dish and one app). The guy said he had no idea, I asked if I could speak to someone else and he said “no” I calmly asked how will I know when I can get my food and he HUNG UP ON ME. So crazy! I’ve never written a bad review for a restaurant but I’ll be telling everyone I know about this. Racial profiling and hanging up on a customer looking for their dinner. Worst business ever.

We drove over an hour just to try this place.. everything was delicious. One of the best tom yums we ever tried..fried rice, pad Thai. Yum. Highly recommend. Definitely recommend. This restaurant makes it to my "go to" places now

Small quaint restaurant with the best Thai food in the area. Very good for both eating in and taking out the food. Can ask for the food at the spicy level you prefer, and have an assortment of local craft beers. Great Drunken Noodles! Definitely recommend.

YUM. Grabbed takeout on my way home from picking up my car at the BID ER after an overnight hospital stay in Boston for my son with a broken arm.... I was so exhausted and hungry, and had to choose what to order quickly as I was in a rush to get home. I picked my usual go-tos, Pad Thai (I got the basil pad thai), fresh rolls, and the Massaman curry. The Basil Pad Thai was sooooo good, some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had!!!! A tad bit spicy but the perfect amount of spice for me. The curry was very delicious although I'll try a different one next time because there were too many orange starchy vegetables in it for me haha! But still really good. The fresh rolls were awesome. It was also so cute inside! I can't WAIT to go back!!!!! I picked up a menu on my way out and there are so many amazing sounding entrees, excited to try something different next time, although I'll definitely still get the Basil Pad Thai :-)

On vacation and wanted a good Vietnamese Pho soup. Unfortunately they didn't have that but the beef boat soup sounded similar so I gave it a try. The broth lacked flavor and the beef slices had more fat then meat. Overall I was disappointed and wouldn't go back.

The food was delicious! Many good options with quite a bit of variety. Took a while for the server to accommodate us however, the moment we asked for something, they checked up on us much more frequently. Music is calming as well as the lights and walls of the inside.

We placed an order for delivery through GrubHub and asked for some dishes to be made vegan. The restaurant called after receiving the order to let us know that one dish couldn't be made without the fish sauce and made a suggestion for a different appetizer. Very much appreciated this! Food was delicious as well.

I’ve been a frequent customer of Mea since moving to Plymouth a year ago. Love the small intimate atmosphere. Not a fancy restaurant but it is clean, friendly and serves up authentic Thai food.

This restaurant is amazing. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. The restaurant has lots of great food to choose from. I went for the Beef noodle soup, which was amazing, and my friend enjoyed a yummy curry dish. It all was so delicious. The service is awesome, and the waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. It's not the largest space, but there is plenty of sitting.

The food was absolutely fantastic and came out quickly. The staff is so kind, and they are VERY accommodating of food allergies. I wish I was local so I could come back often!

The food is incredible! The owner rightly takes great pride in her product. Very friendly. A wide range of the dishes are available with your protein(s) of choice. 1-peppar hot is mild, 2-peppar hot is warm for a spice-lover, spicy for the sensitive. 3-peppar has authority. They have mixed drinks, beer, and a spiced firewater of their own. Nice serving sizes. Locals love this place and it can get busy. When we were there, they had MMA and Muay Thai on rotation on one screen and an odd walking tour of Tokyo on the other...

Hidden gem in Plymouth. The Thai food is excellent! This used to be the all American diner as is evident by the checkered floor and diner style chairs. Do not be confused by the decor, the food is authentic Thai and definitely worth the visit.

Ate @ The Mea Thai Cuisine on Monday night after pickleball and it was FABULOUS!! Adorable restaurant, super friendly staff and beautiful authentic food! Can’t wait to go again! My husband had the Beef Basil Rice Noodle Soup (amazing!!) and I had Pad Ka Paw.. ground beef, sautéed in spicy basil sauce with red peppers, onions, green beans, and basil served with a fried egg on top. Favorite Thai place in the region

Having been at The Mea more than 5 times now, I can confidently say this is the best Thai food you will find in Plymouth.

The staff is absolutely fantastic- they will go out of their way to make sure you get your meal when you need it ( even if you only have 1hr to eat) .

The food is DELICIOUS, fresh, and vibrantly flavorful. My favorite is the masaman curry with sticky rice - warm and cozy, and oh so yummy. Their golden bags are an awesome appetizer too.

The only downside is that it is a small space , which means if you are a big group you may need to call a bit earlier in the day to make sure they can accommodate you ( no reservations from what i understand).

Also - pro tip- if you pay cash, you get a 10% discount - which is sweet 😎

Imagine delicious Thai in diner-type space, complete with a lunch counter and chrome stools. That's The Mea. If you're lucky, you'll catch them on a day when they're doing bubble tea. We’ve eaten here several times and have also called in take-out for the family.

I stopped in on a whim on my way to my hotel and I’m very glad I did. The restaurant was easy to find with tons of street parking. I called ahead and my food was hot and ready when I arrived. The staff was very friendly but the food was incredible! I have had a hard time finding a good Thai place since moving to New England and I’m just upset this place is so far from where I live. Everything was fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly. I had a few options on their menu but I doubt you could go wrong with anything they offer. I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try.

If you're looking for high quality, authentic Thai food, this is the place for you. All the dumplings were handmade - not the typical frozen and reheated you get at most places. The crispy chicken that goes on top of rice and noodle dishes is some of the best fried chicken you'll get and it's on top of the best noodles you'll get. The price and service are amazing. We came for lunch and ordered a complete meal to take home for dinner!!

Had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The curry soup was outstanding. The entrees however were marginal at best. The pad thai was very, very oily. The sweet-and-sour chicken was marginal at best (like fast food court at the mall style). The fantastic plating, makes the food seem better than it actually is. The restaurant seems fairly new, so I'm hoping they will improve as they go along.

This place is too good for its own size meaning this quality food is in such high demand it's hard for the small kitchen to keep up!

No atmosphere, waiter was lazy and annoyed at any request, food was ok quality, pad thai is overly sweet. only item we enjoyed was chicken satay. table wasn't cleared for dessert, there was radio noise in the background and no one in the staff wanted to put on music or turn off the annoying chatter. This is a 2 star restaurant at best. You can do better.

Kra pow moo Kai dow, spicy ground pork with peppers and green beans with a fried egg on top. This is why we ordered from here; it’s one of those things you don’t normally see on Thai menus here. So (accurately) spicy and delicious!

Chive pancake (not spicy, on purpose)
These are described as a pancake or a dumpling, but they’re these delicious glutinous rice fried triangles, and you get a huge portion. So cute and yummy!

This place always amazes me and I try something new each time. Food tastes delicious and great presentation. I recommend the chicken satay, pad Thai, juicy dumplings, and any of the soups. Restaurant is clean, cozy, and elegant.

My new favorite Thai restaurant in the area! This place has phenomenal food, especially their Pad Thai. We have gone several times, ordering something new each time, and are never disappointed with what we get. The curries are always creamy with great flavor and tender meats. The noodle dishes also pack a lot of flavor and its great how different meats change the rest of the dish. It has a great selection of menu items; all my favorite dishes from other Thai restaurants on the South Shore can be found at this one location.

Fantastic Thai food. The pork dumplings were especially good. Service was the only thing that could be better. We waited a long time to get a beverage. Also the nostalgia of being in the old All-American space was strong.

This is one of authentic Thai restuarants in MA. I ordered Som Tum Pra Ra (papaya salad with anchovy sauce) and Moo Yang (Grilled pork). The food is so delicious and real spicy. As a Thai, I would highly recommend this restuarant. Mika, the owner is super nice 😊

This a great place for Thai! I had the best curry and all the ingredients were fresh and crisp! I recently dined at Bangkok Thai down the road and I can officially say I won’t eat there again after our experience here! Rice actually came with our delicious curry rather than it being an added charge as it is at Bangkok Thai! Wait staff was amazing and knowledgeable.

If I could give a 0.0 rating, I would, in fact, I'd give it a -1...food is OLD and wilted, chicken is overcooked, rubbery, burnt, and OLD (clearly), sauces you get on the side are 25% filled at best, decor is OLD and still looks like the OLD breakfast joint that was previously there....thoroughly disappointed, only went here because of the lack of any other thai food restaurants in the area. THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED ..dont bother wasting your money, yuck

This is definitely one of our favorite hidden gems in Plymouth. Mea means Thai wife and the owner and chef are from Thailand. The food is authentic and flavorful! You will not be disappointed!

Had Spicy pad thai. was amazing. Very clean and healthy tasting. Wife had pad thai. She loved it too. Seemed very fresh well presented meal w good portions. Will def be getting it again.

Food was fresh and delicious. You can dine in or get take out. Hostess/waitress was very friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable and meals were good sized. I got the chicken pad thai and my husband got the chicken basil pad thai. We definitely would return.

This is the BEST Thai food restaurant I’ve eaten at in long time! The food is authentic l, portions were large, the service was super friendly and the price was affordable. If you are in Plymouth or surrounding area be sure to check it out.

Amazing food! Our favorite spot in town. We’ve been a bunch of times and the food is consistently good and fresh. The curry soup is my favorite! The owner is super nice and has great recommendations. My son (who loves the pad thai) would eat there every day if he could!

Today was my first visit to this wonderful Thai restaurant in Plymouth, Massachusetts. I ordered crispy basil chicken and my fry ordered Tofu pad Thai. The portions were enough for two and the presentation was lovely. This is a small quiet little restaurant but one deserving a repeat visit. Good luck to them.

Ordered delivery for the first time from here. Fresh, crisp, spicy and perfect. What a great surprise! Will see you all again soon! And we loved the delivery guy.

First of all the food is very tasty, no problem with that. The problem is portions in the dishes for the price paid. For $65 we ordered beef curry, chicken pad thai, "chicken on a stick", and dumplings. The plastic take-out dish with the curry in it was only about half full, with not much meat. The pad thai dish was full but had little chicken in (only 1.6oz/45g for a whole dish), almost all noodles. And the chicken on a stick were very small, compared to similar restaurants. For $65 the portions should be bigger and contain more meat.

We are visiting from out of town and this food was exceptional!!! The tastes were delicious! The drunken noodles.. to die for.. green curry Unreal! Also the curry soup was delightful! If we're ever up this way we will Def be stopping in again! Also thai iced tea!!!!! Delish!!!!!!

I really wanted to love this place! After reading some great reviews we decided to stray from our usual and trusty Bangkok Thai down the street and try the new hot spot in Plymouth. Unfortunately we were not super impressed. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (classic!) and the Cashew Nut. Both were average - the Pad Thai was decent, the Cashew Nut didn’t even have cashews. The pork dumplings were okay, but not your typical plump, full dumplings. After waiting almost an hour for take-out (they weren’t even full inside) they forgot to give us the rice that came with it. We got home and had to make our own. Maybe we had too high of expectations going in? I will say though everyone we encountered were super friendly and fun to chat with. Maybe we’ll give it another go some other time!

This place is so amazing. The basil chicken, pad Thai, Pad see yu and get dessert!!! Service is excellent.

Very authentic and delicious Thai food. After returning from Capt John’s whale watching tour, we stopped by for lunch. Its in walking distance from the plymouth visitor center where our car was parked. The service was great and the server lady was really courteous. We tried various dishes, everything was perfect. Best thai food during our entire visit.

This place was a VERY pleasant surprise! My friend and I decided to stop in for dinner and every single thing we got was DELICIOUS... I got Beef pad see yu, she got basil pad thai and Thom ka, and we shared the shrimp shumai. we came in hungry and left happy and satisfied! It was a bit busy, but I was so impressed with the efficiency and attentiveness of the service! Will 10/10 come back, as well as recommend to anyone I meet. Cute Aesthetic was a huge plus!

This is the best Thai food I've ever had. I love Thai food and get it frequently and this puts all the other places to shame. The Tom kha is out of this world

Out for a quick lunch with my wife and ended up at The Mea because the other restaurant we were headed to was closed. It was good fortune as we have found another great restaurant in town. Far better than any other local Thai food. Basil Pad Thai and Crispy Chicken stir fry were both outstanding. The owner was also our server and very pleasant along with coming up with some great recipes! We will be back that is for sure and looking to try other items on the menu.

Probably the best reason to visit Plymouth, MA. In a town with a small number of Chinese restaurants that also serve sushi and western-catered "mexican" food, this is a stunning oasis.

The food uses Thai garlic, Thai basil, thai lime, and Thai chilis that impart the distinct and authentic flavors. They have all the Thai-American classics, but don't be shy and try some of the Thai street food!

Portions were generous, staff was friendly, and place is cozy. Loved it

This is a very good restaurant. Food excellent and portions are great. Should be open on Sunday's is a big take out day and closed Monday, Tuesday.

Do yourself a huge favor and become a customer of The MEA Thai Cuisine. Every once in awhile you come across a fabulous restaurant and this is one. I have not had Thai food with this much flavor in 15 years. The skill and passion that goes into the dishes at The MEA are on display from the very first bite of Crispy Rolls or Dumplings to the Pad Thai and Curries. They are quite simply … exquisite. It’s a brand new restaurant so you have a special opportunity to go before the crowds discover it. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and just go and try it.

First time trying this place and it will not be the last, it was AMAZING! They were so great with the changes I made to my meals, great customer service. The Pad Thai was so flavorful and by far the best pad thai I've ever had, I usually throw peanut sauce all over it and I didn't even need it for this. The Pad Ka Paw is delicious and if you like spicy I highly recommend it, full of flavor, spice, and fresh basil. My new favorite thai place for sure!

Amazing new Thai place!! We had the wings, chicken satay, fresh rolls for appetizers then had Tom Kha Soup, chicken curry noodle soup and Chicken Pad Thai. Super fresh and delicious, can’t wait to go back. Definitely will be our go to from now on 💖

Delicious food, some of the best thai food I've had in a long time! The portions were nicely sized too, I had plenty left over to heat up for dinner the next day. The woman who served me and my family was super nice too and we had great service the whole time we were there. The whole presentation of the place is great too, all of the aesthetics flow really well and they have this neat black metal silverware too.

I had no idea Mea Thai existed but today I noticed a review on Facebook. So we ordered for the first time , delivery was seamless, fast and it blew us away! I had crispy garlic seafood while my son had chicken pad thai. We barely spoke it was so delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous . This place is phenomenal! And we have it all to ourselves without heading to Boston. 😋
