Pama Thai - Authentic Thai Cuisine with a Touch of Elegance
Review:
Dining at Pama Thai was a wonderful experience that truly transported me to Thailand. The peaceful ambiance and intricate decor, including the beautifully carved Buddha statue, created an atmosphere of calm and relaxation.
The service was impeccable—the waitress was extremely polite, attentive, and made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the meal.
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavors. I ordered the Drunken Noodles, and they were perfectly prepared. The noodles were soft yet chewy, with a rich savory sauce that had just the right balance of spice and sweetness. The mix of chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables was cooked to perfection, adding layers of flavor and texture to the dish.
For dessert, I tried the mango with coconut ice cream—a refreshing and delightful treat. The sweet mango paired with the smooth, creamy ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal.
Pama Thai offers an authentic Thai experience with excellent food, polite service, and a serene ambiance. Whether you’re craving flavorful noodles or a sweet tropical dessert, this place delivers on all levels. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a taste of Thailand close to home!
We dine here relatively frequently. Plenty of tasty vegan options. Service is good, performed by friendly staff. They play some music, but not too loud. And you can even charge your EV for free (within a few minutes' walk)! What else does one have to ask for? :D
The food was delightful enough but the service by the lady was really disappointing, straight face, not even a smile while serving, my mom asked for another box to go she did not even respond (although she did get the box). The guy server on the other hand was very polite and attentive.
Customer service makes a huuuge impact to me or for anyone for that matter. If you are able to sit at the table at the back talk to a friend and smile and laugh then you should be able to do the same as common courtesy with your customers as well.
Again, though the food was good I may not repeat (even though the place is 10mins away from me) just because of the lack of customer service
Hidden gem of a Thai restaurant near by the Potomac area. Their unique Mongo curry with tofu for vegetarian dish is authentic. The drunken noodles with tofu is also very good taste. The portion is pretty good size in that area. Their Chive dumplings is tasty that we ordered second one. The only argument is they only offer 3 Chive dumplings per dish that kind of litte small portion. Their service is very kind and friendly. They always smile to customers. I will go back to this restaurant next time.
I loved the experience. Nice place with interesting decore. Gold flatware (not simply silver). Beautiful art through out (Take lots of selfies). Even the tray to place your payment in is a work of art. I ordered and Americano to drink, steamed dumplings, and Panang Curie. My bill came out to about $30. The food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. I am not a fan of the music choice, but it didn't bother me. I think the music was easy listening Jazz. Heavy on the piano and saxophone. I didn't think it fit the Asian atmosphere, but it wasn't overwhelming. If you like your food SPICY 🔥 let them know know to spice it up for you.
The atmosphere is pretty good. The staffs here is very helpful. Fried calamari is very delicious and I enjoyed the sauce that came with it.
Massaman curry is okay. I wish the potatoes and the carrots were cook better.
It will be a lot better if they cut them to smaller pieces so the curry could get the flavor into the potatoes and carrots.
Newly opened in Park Potomac. It's next to Harris Teeter. I called in for takeout. Was ready when we got there! Staff greeted quickly and were nice. Interior is nice and spacious. Simple decor but comfy.
Got the crispy salmon roll because the pictures of the appetizer on their Instagram looked great. Ours needed some more time in the fryer. It also was mostly rice with a hint of salmon. I'd skip this one.
Our red curry was with tofu. Has mild heat, but very heavy handed with the sweetness. It was ok. I would get green curry instead next time.
Mango sticky rice was good. The coconut ice cream could do with a bit more coconut flavor and some toasted coconut.
I hope they do well in Park Potomac! It'll be awhile before I stop by again though.

Favorite thai place. The only thing I wish they had is cushioned seats.
Great food! Very good service, will be back!

Best Thai food in Maryland.
Best seafood basil fried rice I’ve had in the area! Love that there is a customizable spice level. Food is flavorful throughout the ENTIRE bite. I could eat here daily
Beware. There is a 20% service charge that cannot be changed. There is also a gratuity line SEPARATE from the mandatory service charge.
Best dish of the 10 we tried was crab Rangoon. Excellent.
Second best dish was the whole fried flounder. Delicious. The chili garlic sauce, however, was insipid.
I suspect the clientele wants Thai food without spice. Several times during the ordering process, we were asked if we wanted the food not spicy. We said "bring it like it comes" - given there are 🌶️ on the menu to indicate spiciness.
The result was that food that would be spicy at other Thai places was barely spicy - drunken noodles, chili garlic sauce, etc.
Combine the so-so food with the sneaky service charge, and you have a recipe to not return.
Had a fantastic dine in experience! Great, quick service (wasn’t busy). Lovely drinks and apps. Perfect portions - not too much not too little. Pama Pad Thai was a very enjoyable and creative take on a “traditional” Pad Thai that I had a lot of fun eating. Spicy basil fried rice was perfect! Can’t wait to go back. Super affordable and some very nice music honestly!
Love love the crispy duck curry. 10/10
decent food. beware of the SERVICE CHARGE!
Great food!
Be aware the food is spicy!
Good food; great service. Will definitely go back!
Food was average at best. Calamari was hard not fresh, Pama chicken cashew tasted like ketchup, mango sticky rice was nasty in terms of taste and presentation. Prices were overpriced and the restaurant added an automatic 20% tip for a party of 5. I could tolerate average/poor food, but the automatic tip on a party of 5 and the fact that we ordered over $40 of take out which also had 20% tip applied to it was inappropriate.
Love the food, but sometimes when we order for delivery the background noise in the restaurant is so loud that the staff person can't hear us and we have to actually shout to order.
A better system for orders would help!
what a wonderful place! food is amazing especially the combo fried rice!!! amazing
Love their Pad Thai.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Rockville!
Coming from NYC to rockville I must say that this restaurant brings me memories of the city and it simply has it all:
-The food
-The service
-The atmosphere
Delicious and very unique dishes, perfectly spiced and never disappoints!!
Every time I go, I simply can’t wait for my next visit
Fancy decor and clean place.
The service is excellent , friendly people very polite and helpful!
Drinks are great too!!
100% recommended.
Good local restaurant for Thai food
We have been there many times since it has opened. We have had chicken satay, spring rolls and for entree shrimp pad Thai and chicken or tofu drunken noodles. The food is consistently good. Our local go to Thai restaurant.
The food was delightful enough but the service by the lady was really disappointing, straight face, not even a smile while serving, my mom asked for another box to go she did not even respond (although she did get the box). The guy server on the other hand was very polite and attentive.

Had a delicious meal with my family, dumplings, soup, noodles and rice were awesome, we will be back!
Best Thai restaurant in the area
We had great food. The service was attentive and friendly. The decor with it's beautiful wood carvings added to the experience. Price was reasonable. Will definitely go back.
a simple request was totally ignored. asked hot pepper..they did not give it with no reason.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in MD!
Service and atmosphere are both excellent.
Their food WILL clear your sinuses, be prepared for spice!
Definitely a must try lunch spot!

This is a welcome addition to the area! One of the best Thai places around - the flavors are on point and it’s not too greasy (my pet peeve with another Thai place nearby). We haven’t had a bad dish; we just wish the portions were a little bigger.
dumplings and curry duck superb
The cuisine is exceptional. It’s obvious that they use quality ingredients to prepare these well refined culinary treats.
The chefs really know how to properly prepare the proteins perfectly. I often order the the chicken satay appetizer whenever I go as a gauge to the quality of the rest of the food. The Chicken was very tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The peanut sauce and cucumber dressing were also very tasty and well balanced and the meat actually tasted delicious without any dipping sauce. If it were overcooked and dry I would have left without ordering anything else. I don’t normally like pad Thai noodles from the majority of Thai restaurants in my area but Pama Thai has me liking the dish again.
If you love Thai food then you should really give this place a try. The restaurant is very cute inside and is decorated with beautiful wood carvings and very tastefully done.
Nothing gaudy like many Asian restaurants tend to do and many times overdo it.
The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet with low level background music. I would personally not bring kids here unless they are well behaved. I did not see any high chairs.
It seems i forget to mention that the prices are very reasonable and the portions are quite generous.
For under $40 (less tip) two people can dine on one appetizer and one entree and may even have some left over; that’s if you’re not a big eaters. They don’t have a liquor license yet but are scheduled to have hearing in January. The food is good enough that not having alcohol on the menu is not a deal breaker at all and I will continue to dine there whether they get it or not.
My first taste of Thai food was in 1985 just outside Brussels Belgium in a small town called Waterloo. The food there was some of the best I have ever tasted to this day and is what set that bar for me at an early age.
Check out Pama Thai before everyone finds out about this hidden Gem that’s sandwiched between Harris Teeter and a chiropractors office.
A great addition to Park Potomac!! Patty, who helped me with ordering, as it was my first time, made a great recommendation with the Duck curry. Very flavorful. I look forward till my next visit and Patt’ys next selection for me😃. Great job Pama Thai!
I placed a take out order. I can clearly say that the quality of the ingredients is top notch. I placed an order for 3 main dishes and 2 appetizers. The value is good. The preparation was timely. Must give them a chance. I think they will be staple of an addition to Park Potomac restaurants.
Best Thai food I've had in a very long time! Lovely staff and great service.
The food was good but surprisingly the service was very unfriendly and inattentive, despite having very few diners in the restaurant!
Service was fast
Food was hot, flavorful, and overall very good
Calamari was crunchy and chewy
I really like the menu as you can choose the meat and the sauces separately so your options are quite varied.
They also have the usual noodle dishes.
The food is delicious. I love Thai food and this feels authentic here. Location is great. Service is very good too!
Food was delicious. Very pretty decor inside!
Loved this place!
I love Thai food and this place was great.
Great environment.
I’m picky and this place was really good. I used to get Thai food at another restaurant in the area but the quality there has recently gone down so I stopped eating there. I hadn’t found a new Thai place I liked. I’m so happy to see that the food here is really flavorful and this will be my new place to eat.
I got the panang tofu by the way. Not as sweet as other restaurants close by which I think is good. It has more depth of flavor. My parents ordered other things and also really liked the food.

I had pad Thai and it was so delicious. I asked for the combo with chicken steak and pork and spicy and it was so nice
What a waste of money, soup was cold sent it back and that took over 15 mins to get back. The calamari tasted like rubber ordered and the Pad Thai was burnt. The waitress wasn’t even bothered to get us our check had to walk to ask for it
The only thing that was positive was the decor
Stay away !!!!
Food isn’t good. Calamari over-cooked,
Paid Thai was burned , soup and curry came cold.
Unfortunately not good .
Place looks beautiful.

Excellent food and warm service. The ingredients were totally fresh and the chicken in my dish was very high in quality and not overcooked. This is a great new restaurant!
