Had a great early dinner at Tomo Asian Cuisine in Hanover, MD! We were seated right away, and our food came out super quickly. Our server was kind and attentive. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful – we had the General Tso’s Chicken with fried rice, Scorpion King Roll, and American Eagle Roll. Each dish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality Asian cuisine in the area!

Soo I am new to the area… I was planning to go to poke express, which is near Tomo. However, Tomo caught my eye so I decided to go in. It’s a sit down and eat vibe but I needed to grab and go (which they also do). I usually get general tso or sesame chicken. I got the sesame this time (this order is usually the make or break order).

To my surprise it was gooood! Fresh and tasty! And full of meat and not breading like most other Asian cuisines do! Friends, it was goood!! Rare find! If they keep cooking like this I will continue to recommend this place.

The food did not give me that bloated feeling. It kinda feel like they are giving us Asia without that filler stuff!! So happy!

the crab wontons are quite delicious. the pineapple fried rice a bland it was missing flavor. the general tso chicken cooked well right balance of flavors. Beef Yakitori cooked well bland. I wish they added some type of seasoning just in case one doesn't like the sauce that comes with it. calamari ok fresh not my favorite. didn't care for the batter they used. needed more flavor

Beautifully attractive dining space paired with amazing presentation of the food and great service makes a wonderful dinner experience. The food is amazing and definitely worth the price tag. No corners are cuts and no appetite is left unfulfilled. They put time and effort into their craft and ensure the best quality.

Service was 5 stars! We had a large party that came sporadically. They sat us with no fuss and quickly took orders of our guests that arrived later. It was quiet, clean, and well designed space.

Fast service, clean restaurant with lots of options. Restaurant was very busy and we made a large order, still got everything we ordered very quickly and it was all hot. Shrimp was cleaned right and cooked perfectly.

Fried Rice Combo - great taste, amazing amount of meat; probably the highest meat to rice ratio I’ve ever seen.

General Tso’s - not General Tso’s, unlike any other General Tso’s/Cao’s I’ve had throughout my travels around the US. No spiciness to it in the least. Aside from the dissimilarity to what one expects, it was good as chicken with a sweeter seasoning.

Sweet Chili Mango Shrimp - has a really good amount of fresh mango. Really good taste, ignore the (spicy) note, about as spicy as peanut butter. Still, a really good non-spicy dish.

Triple Kapow - another good dish that says it is spicy and doesn’t have a hint of spice.

Pad Thai Chicken - my favorite of everything we ordered. Intriguing taste, just wanted one more bite over and over.

Regarding the assertion spicy dishes weren’t spicy, my 9 year old granddaughter dislikes anything remotely spicy. She devoured everything and didn’t mention noticing a hint of spicy. Aside from the pad Thai, all dishes were sort of muted in strong flavors. Still great to eat, but lower on the different burst of flavor difference between dishes.

Got the volcano and deep fried chef’s special rolls. Both look good, but the rest was too good to leave room for them at the moment of review.

This was our second time eating at Tomo Asian Cuisine.

Their sushi rolls and bento boxes are an excellent value - very generous portions and delicious. For example, the shrimp bento box ($23.50) comes with teriyaki shrimp, rice, California roll, shumai, veggie tempura, soup and salad. Fantastic value!

For vegetarians, there are plenty of vegetarian rolls to choose from as well as appetizers.

I gave the restaurant 4 stars for the atmosphere and service. The menu is really difficult to read as it's grey with red lettering, making it hard to decipher words (see photo). The seats were uncomfortable and move around very easily. When a couple sat in the booth behind us our seats moved causing soy sauce dishes to spill.

For service, our server was polite but never checked on us during the meal and we waited a long time for the check.

Other than the seating discomfort and not being checked on by our server, our dining experience was very good. The food was delicious and the cost was reasonable. Our table had one shrimp bento box (with all of the items I mentioned above) , 4 vegetarian rolls and two deluxe sushi rolls for $90 total ($110 with tip). For a large sushi dinner that price us acceptable and we have leftovers.

Overall, I recommend Tomo Asian Cuisine and think anyone will enjoy dining there!

We ordered yellowtail amazing, eel cucumber roll, black dragon roll, and the house sashimi tonight. They were all disappointing due to quality, it just didn't taste fresh. We have ordered many times here before and we never had this issue.

Very disappointed. Third time here. I told them what I wanted, she got my order wrong, then tried to blame me and tell me what I didn’t say. I said it you just didn’t listen. Was very rude about it actually when my food came out and I let her know it was wrong. So I to had to correct her attitude and let her know that this isn’t right and shouldn’t treat a customer like this. Customer service a 0. Will no longer come here. No apology or anything from the waiter or what appeared to be the manger (a man), very rude. Also saw the sushi guy take his bare hands and go in his nose and rub it while making sushi. I had to let them know to tell him to wash his hands and use gloves. Yikes. And wow!

So I love sushi and I was looking for a nice sushi place close to my house and I'm so happy I stopped in for a bite. Conveniently located on the outside of Arundel Mills. Nice, clean establishment with a welcoming vibe. I was greeted with a smile and seated immediately. Our server was very nice and courteous. The food was affordable and the house wines were excellent. If you enjoy a sweet wine, I recommend the Plum Wine. So good I had to buy a bottle to go. The Scorpion King sushi was delicious and the portions were amazing. I couldn't eat it all, I had to take it home and it warmed up nicely the next day for leftovers. If you are looking for an affordable sushi night out, I highly recommend. Enjoy!

We got the General Tso’s chicken and fried rice, 2 appetizers (shrimp tempura roll and gyoza). This is one of the few places where the General Tsos is actually spicy. And good cuts of chicken, highly believe it’s breast meat and it’s crunchy when you get it. I don’t live close by this place but will make the trip when I want Asian food. Highly recommended!

We called for a pickup order. Hassle free. Only issue is the quality of food. I ordered the salmon teriyaki dinner box and my friend ordered the beef and rice.
The salmon teriyaki wasn't teriyaki at all it tasted extremely bitter. The salmon was way overcooked and dry and in my opinion small for $23.50 I felt nauseous after a piece of the California roll and decided to toss the whole thing. My friend said his was editable but not worth the 15min drive to pick it up. Its mothers day and now I'm cooking lol

I was in the area and had a craving for some Chinese or Japanese food. I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I ordered the General TSO shrimp and Singapore Rice noodles. I don't even live in the same county that this restaurant is in so to say that I was hoping I made the right choice was an understatement because once I got home If I wasn't happy with the food I would just have to order something else and spend more money. The food that I got from here was incredibly delicious. The Singapore rice noodles were perfect and the General tso Shrimp was so tasty. When I say this is probably the best Asian food that I've had in years, It is true. I will definitely definitely be back and I wish I lived closer so I get to have them delivered to me or pick it up more often.

Amazing sushi and Asian cuisine! The batter they use for their tempura is light and delicious. Definitely try the Tomo Roll!

BEST SUSHI EVER! The gyozas were fresh and amazing. The salmon on the nigiri was fresh and buttery. Our rolls were phenomenal. Very impressed!

What a magnificent hidden gem. We ended up here after a neighboring restaurant being closed. Hands down the best Asian food we've had since moving to the Fort Meade area. The entrees were incredibly high quality and tasted amazing. The crab rangoons were delicious as well. Fast and friendly service and reasonable prices. Happy to find them open on Christmas eve. Store was clean and great atmosphere.

When i walked in to the restaurant there was no one on there to greet/ seat me. I was the only one in line at the time about a minute passed. A couple came in an stood behind me in line. A few seconds after the couple came in behind me someone from the restaurant came up walked past me and proceeded to seat them. I said excuse me I was here first. Then the waiter said "i am sorry I thought you were here for carry out." That still would not explain why he walked right past me with out acknowledging my presence, but I let it go. He seats me first. About 10 minutes go by and and no one had come by to take my order give me water or anything. I then look up and see that the couple that came in after me and was seated after me had already recieved service while i was still waiting. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time.

We ordered the chicken lo mein and the chicken teriyaki box to-go. Very pleased with the amount of food received! Ordered ice cream when I arrived and had no problem with the last minute request. If you call in your order they will answer immediately and have your order ready within 15 mins. I wish them all the success!

Spicy Maki was not as spicy as expected a little bland.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Maryland. The service is always professional and waiters / waitresses are always attentive and well mannered. The environment is so nice and clean . But the sushi is amazing , although I get the same dish every time ; I am never dissatisfied. Always leave full and happy . Even if I have leftovers for a day or two , I always want to go back . A hidden gem place in the DMV. I am surprised they don't have a lot of customers considering how their food quality and their friendly workers are AMAZING. DON'T HESITATE TO COME. RUN TO THIS PLACE AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

This place is low key the best sushi and Chinese food in the area. Their General, Orange and Sesame chicken is the best we have ever had. It’s pretty much a weekly staple. Their sushi rolls are huge and fresh!

Excellent sushi and service! My friend had the shrimp tempura and I had edamame, veggie roll, and avocado roll. Everything was fresh and delicious!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Tomo earlier this evening! The food was fantastic, the service was quick & polite, and the restaurant was very clean! I highly recommend the shrimp tempura dinner, it was sooo delicious. I’ll let the picture do the rest of the talking.

Wife and I went out for my birthday and had a lovely time, the staff was very attentive and quick. The food was brought to out table before we knew it and everything was cooked and prepared perfectly. The sushi rolls all had amazing flavor, wife had the veggie spread while I had the ichiban roll, spicy salmon and Alaska rolls. Very quite restaurant and relaxing atmosphere, will definitely come back more often.

Food quality: A (made me smile with every bite; every single item was prepared very well - miso soup was actually tasty, the salad was properly crunchy and the dressing had a wonderful fresh ginger taste and aroma, the tempura items were crunchy and not too oily, the rolls were fresh and full of flavor, the shrimp was perfectly seasoned)
Food quantity: A (generous, but not overwhelming; I actually decided to skip rice altogether)

Tomo is a quiet hidden gem. The food there is really good, the staff are nice (not reallyy friendly), the atmosphere is very pleasant. We recommend that you go to Tomo and enjoy the experience. You will not regret it. This was not our 1st visit. We did not dine in on this visit. Still enjoyable.
