The atmosphere and customer service here are great. I ordered the tofu spring wrap/roll, crispy salmon with basil and chili sauce, and a luxury martini. The wrap was fresh and delicious. The crispy salmon was very crispy. However, could have used a little flavor. The basil chili sauce was incredible. I ended up drenching the salmon with the sauce, and that definitely took the dish to the next level. (That could very well be the appropriate way to eat the dish) Either way, I'm definitely coming back.

Good Kentlands neighborhood Thai restaurant. I was able to dine outside and its really pleasant. Went for my go-to Thai order of papaya salad and chicken red curry. I asked for as mild as they do for them and those were plenty spicy for me!

Had takeout for dinner here the other day and overall the food was good! Top favorites were the Chicken Panang and Ka Pow Gai Sub—both has a spicy kick to it so be aware. The Papaya Salad, Crab Ragoon, Bikini Shrimp were good too. Was not a huge fan of the Shrimp Pad Thai—the noodles were so mushy (over cooked) and overall not too tasty.

Thai Tanium is my family's go to Thai restaurant in our area. Everytime we come, we will order something different and always end with a pleasant surprise. This might not be an authentic Thai restaurant, but rather, I will call it a Thai fusion restaurant. The volcano chicken dish is very good, crispy with a kick of spiciness in it. Their curry sauce is very flavourful and goes well with rice!

My wife and I frequent this place and the food is always amazing. Today, the both of us had the Thai Tanium star dish and it was yummy. The service is always great and the price is reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend.

Wife and I wanted to try this place for the first time and did take out. She's two bites into her meal when we get home and finds a little green caterpillar/worm on one of her shrimp. Absolutely disgusting. Ruined our appetite and what a waste of $60. Make sure you pick through your food carefully folks.

They took forever to make my order, which meant that it arrived very late. They put tofu in when I only asked for vegetables. The Ka pow was tasteless, and without the normal basil and peppers. Avoid.

We tend to like Thai food and have enjoyed it at many fine establishments in the Baltimore-Washington area. We think we are picky. When he happened upon Thai Tanium by accident one weekday for lunch, we expected to be satisfied but not wowed.

Kentlands has many intriguing food choices, and being a mall of sorts, we knew to temper our expectations. The Kentlands restaurant we thought we wanted to visit had outdoor seating only on a day too chilly for that to ne enjoyable. We spotted Thai Tanium and made a spur-of-the-moment decision to visit.

We could not have been more happy with the selection, food or service at Thai Tanium. The Volcano Crispy Chicken was one of the best Thai entrees we have had anywhere in recent memory. Prices are fair given the location and parking was convenient enough. While Kentlands is loaded wirth foodie destinations, we'd certainly come back to Thai Tanium!

My partner, two friends and I ate here a couple of weeks ago. The place wasn't too busy when we got there at off-hours, so I can't speak to how things are handled at peak hours. We all got different dishes and appetizers and shared bites of all of them. All were very well prepared. The sizes were substantial and prices reasonable . The cocktails were also well made. Service was polite and prompt if maybe just a tad perfunctory. My only complaint and it's minor was that the seating was a little uncomfortable and the restaurant, while clearly not "fast casual" had a bit of that feeling. Nothing the staff could do anything about, obviously! We will definitely visit again though and can recommend.

Ordered Por Pia Jae appetizer. These veggie spring rolls were fresh, crispy, and delicious with a nice dipping sauce on the side. I enjoyed this appetizer.

Pad cashew with chicken entree and Pad broccoli with pork entree were both extremely bland and tasteless with a very thin watery sauce. So thin that not even the rice could sop it up. Portion size was adequate, but who really cares about portion size when you get such disappointing flavorless entrees. I won't return.

Seriously they gave me 2 tablespoons extra of spicy lime juice for my Larb Gai and Brussel Sprouts salad and charged me $3.00 for it! I will be visiting: Lum Thai, Thai Express, Thai Farm, Bai Kai Thai; and anywhere except Thai Tanium.

We got food delivered via uber eats.I got the Pad Thai, house salad & chicken kapow. Everything was amazing except the chicken kapow. It was flavorless & 90% veggies. Don’t get me wrong, I love my veggies, but I ordered CHICKEN kapow. The first two meals were 5 out of 5. The chicken kapow was a 1. Do not order it!

I have been coming to Thai Tanium for dine in and for take out for many, many years and they are unbeaten. The food is phenomenal. Great drinks too. When I travel, I struggle to find comparable Thai food.

I’ve always loved their food and was always a frequent customer. But this recent experience was awful from when moment we were seated to a table that was not properly cleaned. Maybe about 5 mins after we sat down we were rushed to order and this was about an hour before we their closing time. Also the restaurant had multiple tables just seated and families eating. We haven’t even ordered drinks yet. The food tasted and came out quick. I am not sure why sweeping and mopping around diners eating is allowed but made me very uncomfortable and rushed. I asked for the check immediately and boxes to go.

Beware, they don’t let you know auto gratuity will be added to any number of people at a table.

The items had lot more vegetarian varieties on the menu and whatever we ordered was delicious. Fast service with smiles.

THIS WAS my go to for Thai food, but not anymore. I usually order food to go or for delivery via apps. I get my usual spicy eggplant dish with beef, seafood, tofu, shrimp, sometimes double seafood or various combinations depending on my mood.

My last and final order with this place I ordered my usual and it only came with beef and no seafood. I noticed the order was off immediately by the size of the container. I opened it and dug around for the seafood and it did not come with any.

I took a picture and called them up immediately and was told the manager would have to call me back. I waited and the same person who answered my original call told me they can’t do anything about it unless I want to place another order.

I told him I’d be happy to drive back and have them add the seafood in it and pay for it since the app refunded me the seafood add on option.

He said sorry unless you want to place another order they can’t help me.

I told him if I was in the restaurant dinning in they would immediately fix it. I’m not asking them to drive it out to me or make me a new one and I am not asking for anything free since I’m happy to pay for the add on again after the $5 refund.

He said again sorry can’t help unless I place another order.

I told him that’s like me ordering a car with specific options and it was delivered without said options and I’d have to buy another car with those options after being refunded the option price.

Absolutely ludicrous! I will never be a customer of this place ever again!

Great place to eat some delicious Thai food! The interior is well decorated, and the staff is very friendly. There is a lot of seating so you probably won't need to wait for very long to be seated. Definitely come to Thai Tanium if you're in the area and in the mood for some delicious Thai food!

I am a regular customer at Thai Tanium and personally suggested this restaurant in many gatherings for office events and also family get together. I appreciated their fast service, but we had couple of embarrassing experiences which is quite disappointing. I was shocked to find insect parts in the food served. It was evident that the kitchen maintenance was lacking, which greatly affected the quality of the meal.

What made matters worse was the embarrassing situation that unfolded in front of my guests. It's disheartening to encounter such a lack of hygiene in a restaurant setting.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Thai Tanium until they address these issues with their kitchen cleanliness.

Don’t go here or order from here if you are. Vegetarian- I just found 2 pieces of chicken in my tofu dish- that is so disgusting

The 3 of us had a magnificent lunch here. We all enjoyed our food very much. I had the best pineapple fried rice w/ chicken and shrimp I have ever had. We can't wait to go back.

We seemed to have dined here on a day when the chef wasn’t working.

I asked for a fried egg for my meal and they said they couldn’t do it because chef wasnt in. A bit surprising because they took our order for a thai basil dish and drunken pad see ew…

We were anxious about the meal we’d be experiencing and that ended up being reality for the pad see ew.

Surprisingly, the thai basil was delicious and so im just still confused how a fried egg is too complex to make without the chef but the entrees not a problem….

Was this food sitting there and reheated or cooked after ordering? We will never know

I had a pineapple tornado (or something like that) rates 8/10. Overall not bad.

Really nice thai place in the Kentlands neighborhood. The food is finger-licking good. We love their papaya salad and green curry the most. Other currys and stir fry are also superb. They need a few more staff so the service could be faster but overall it wasnt bad. Food comes piping hot!

Thai tanium is one of my favorite Thai restaurants to go to in the DMV. I recommend the chicken satay, spring rolls, Tum yum soup & yellow curry 🙂. When you do come I hope you get leslie as your server. I had her today as my server & she was amazing ! She was attentive, punctual, & efficient & as a server myself it was awesome to experience a great serving experience. Shout out to the kitchen Staff & other team members as well. Thai tanium’s team is very efficient & supportive. It’s something you love to see in the restaurant industry. Been here 4 times already can’t wait to come back for my 5th !

Simply the best Thai food in Montgomery County, the Tofu and Veggie Panang Curry is to die for as are the curry puffs. It’s a bit pricey but that’s expected for the Kentlands.

Absolutely a must! So delicious! I had Pad See Eaw with chicken and spring rolls for an appetizer. My food was hot and super fresh, like out of my mom's kitchen. Love this!

Highly recommended regular pad Thai with no meat! Adding meat or seafood is highly expensive, 13 dollars. But other than that, service was great! :) Especially during a raining cold night.

Great experience every time I go! The staff are very accommodating for vegetarian and vegan diets. The food is always delicious and freshly made. The chicken Panang curry is my favorite for a good kick but not too much spice. Bathroom is always clean, too!

couple times takeout was late. but not terribly long of a wait. worker said she would go to the back and check for my order but she came out and just walked past me. had to wait for another worker to come up to me so i could ask again. first worker never got back to me. there was one other customer once who was waiting much longer than me and they kept telling him they didnt have his order, asking him if it was under another name or number, etc. eventually the worker said oh your order was right here on the counter in front of them the whole time. poor guy. but it wasnt terribly long of a wait and they also seemed busy. but still they shouldn't give an inaccurate pickup/ready time. fantastic food and good prices otherwise

One of the better thai places I've been to for sure. Red duck curry was amazing, mango with sweet sticky rice was the best I've bad, the soft shell crab was pretty good but a bit fishy in the center guts.

Food Amazing. Service subpar. Hardly anyone came to check on us. We were constantly calling the waiter over. Food came out fast and well-prepared.

My date had never had Thai curry before and this place had great reviews. So we went and I’m glad we did!
The atmosphere is really nice, dim lighting except for the bulbs over the tables. They also have a full bar and their drinks are delicious!

Definitely not the best Thai restaurant in the area. The food taste is average and service was kind of inconsistent, sometimes fast and slow some times. The drinks were good though, the restaurant is definitely at a very good location.

Visited this restaurant for the first time. Tom-Yum soup I give it a 7/10 rating because it was too sour for me. Chicken satay I will rate 10/10 I liked the aroma and soft meat. Beef Nam Tuk was flavourful and tasty 10/10. Panang Curry was delicious with a nutty flavour 10/10.

I think it's be nice if the menu had pictures of regular items to aid in ordering process as the time my party took to order annoyed the staff, but there was a lot to look through and a weekly specials menu. Also more kid friendly options would be nice. I'm indifferent on this place, as it could be great for specific dishes, just not for me.

Brussel sprout appetizer salad was delicious little tangy. Be careful it's made with fish sauce, so my wife had them make it special without fish sauce. Wife thought it was spicy, I didn't.
She had a coconut curry tofu that was very fresh and tasty.
I had thai tanium star. Fantastic dish shrimp cake pieces around the outside ground chicken in the middle and roasted shrimp as well. My only complaint is that the fresh basil leaves were all bunched up and hidden under the mound of chicken. I wish I had found them sooner. Love that it was over shredded carrots, as I use that for the base instead of rice or noodle which add lots of carbs. Would definitely order this again.
Next visit I had Bangkok seafood (pic). Did not like that curry sauce was a bit sweet. Would not get this one again.

I got takeout from this place yesterday and had aluminum foil in the container with my food (crispy chicken). It was mixed into the food. It's a shame because I liked this place but cannot forgive that a foreign object was in my food.

Best thai food around in my opinion. I been coming here for about 5 or 6 years now and the place never disappoints. I love the chicken panang, the beef kee mao, papaya salad its just all very delicious. I would recommend it to anyone looking for some good thai food.

Our second time here and we very much enjoyed ourselves. Food and service are amazing. One of the best Thai places in the area.

Had Uber eats couple of times and visited the restaurant ones the service is very good, pricing not bad at all and the food is delicious! The best of the best is the banana dessert with ice cream 🤤

Server made us feel like we didn't belong. And it was the blandest Thai food I've ever had. Might as well have been KFC.

The service was friendly. The prices are a bit high, but I think rent is probably very costly in this area. The tod mun pla had a good flavor and were just barely spicy. The pad see ew was pretty bland, even considering that it's generally a bland dish. My main issue with the food was that it seems like the restaurant doesn't have a gas stove or the cook working when I went didn't use high enough heat. The tod mun pla had a lot of oil inside them and the pad see ew seemed like it had been steamed. I think this could be a solid place for customers who like milder Thai food and don't care about texture or cooking technique.

First time going there. The staff were nice and friendly. The service was good. My husband ordered the green curry entree and loved it.
The appetizer we ordered had beef in it, so I was expecting it to be warm, but it was completely cold (apparantly was previously cooked and then taken out of the fridge, mixed it with herbs and vegetables and served, but there was no mention on the menu if it was cold or not. So, if you go, ask the stafc if an appetizer is cold or not. Also, this item was very spicy, but there was no sign next to it.

Not good and overpriced. The curry seemed to have the components (meat and baby carrots direct from a Safeway package) microwaved (large pieces of tough meat and carrots whose temperature was significantly hotter T than the curry sauce) and mixed with curry sauce. The hot tea was tepid, indicative that the water had also been microwaved with tea bag added after.

Outstanding restaurant that I go to as often as possible. Great service and amazing food. You will never get a bad meal there...

I have ordered from Thai Tanium at least once a month for ~2 years and have never been disappointed. Their Panang curry is the best I've had. Reasonable prices, larger than average portions, and great taste!

Very clean. Friendly attentive staff, quick service. Lovely, flavorful food. Fresh crisp veges. Watch out for the "2 red peppers" markers on the menu card - serious hot pepper zing!!!
