Welcome to M Thai Kitchen! Authentic Thai cuisine in Edgewater, MD.
Went in for lunch and the lemongrass soup was great, and the "combo plate" was a little oily from the fried items and the "chicken satay" was dry and over cooked, but tasty. They are kinda new to this shopping area so I wanted to try them out hoping they would be better then some of the other ones in the area, I wasn't super impressed for my 1st time, but I will definitely go back and try them out again.
We had a really nice dinner at M Thai! The atmosphere was really nice and service was great.
I felt like the food left a little to be desired, my Pad See-ew was a little too salty and the panang curry could have been spicier. But the beef in my pad see-ew was good, and the Thai tea was delicious.
I'd definitely go back to try more dishes! I think maybe we just got an off night with our meals. I'm posting the menu here since their website seems to not be working.
The waitress provided excellent service!! My friend and I spent over 2 hours eating and catching up. She never blinked an eye! Great service the entire time.
Food was very good. Definitely recommend.
Atmosphere vibe was good, but the place could use a little sprucing up.
Nice small Thai restaurant with the usual dishes available. The staff are attentive and fast. It generally has ample seating but the dining room is small so be careful if you have a large group.
Shrimp fried rice, chicken green curry, kaprow beef. They were all so delicious. I always order their green curry with all that fresh vegetables. Seasoned so well and I love it that theirs is not sweet. I don’t understand why other Thai restaurants in the area serve this dish sweetened.
The problem is that I ate here regularly “before”. The original owners no longer seem to be there and while the place looks the same the food certainly is not. This was one of the best Thai places around, but no longer. The recipes are not the same though the menu is. The ingredients are no where near the quality they used to be. The portions are off.
I wasn’t bad, but it was noticeably less than it used to be. It wasn’t good enough to come back.
Great food and service.

Duck roll was awesome
Service was great!
Fried eggplant was chefs kiss!
Delicious food fast and friendly service
Got a carry out from Thai Kitchen in Edgewater. When we picked up the food, we found out that the restaurant was sold and the previous owners retired. We had hoped that the new owner kept the same recipes. After getting home with the food, we were disappointed to find out that the food changed and not for the better. Everyone has different tastes, but you may want to try just a couple of things before you commit to a large meal. For us, it was a very disappointing experience and we will not be back.

I've been coming here for years, it was one of my favorite places. Something has changed, the people aren't the same, The food is lacking, it doesn't taste the same, Smaller portions as well... probably going to have to find somewhere else to go.

My SO and I just lunched here, and the food and service were spot on. Pad See Ew and Pineapple Fried Rice were prepared beautifully. We will definitely be returning.
Would have thought it was ok if we hadn’t been here before. Went from phenomenal to just ok. However, my wife’s pad Thai had a piece of hard plastic in it. I will say that they were very apologetic and made a fresh dish very quickly. I will also say that I still had to pay for the meal. Sadly disappointing.
I'm really sad to write this review. we moved to Edgewater in 2015 and even before moving in we had heard about M Thai Kitchen. it has been our go to for Thai food for years and has been a standard for great food in the area for much longer than we have lived here. 6 years ago I wrote a 5 star review, but recently the restaurant was taken over by new management and everything changed. We usually get several dishes for takeout and eat it over the course of several days and our last order was terrible. first, every one of our 5 dishes was completely different than it had been for years. the flavor and seasonings were all radically different. the pineapple fried rice and the pad thai were in much smaller containers, about 1/2 the size of the previous portions we would receive, and the price was the same. the garlic pork is now served with broccoli instead on a bed of lettuce and the sauce was bland. the Pad eggplant used to have a delicious bright yellow turmeric based sauce and now it was just a bland generic brown broth. pretty sure they are using generic purple eggplant instead of traditional thai green eggplant too. chicken pad kaprow used to have strong thai basil flavor. no more. all the veggies are different. I can no longer recommend this place. it used to be so good and a standard rotation in takeout for my family, but no more.
Classic Thai cuisine. Safe location, great flavors.
New owners
Food quality dropped
Prices increased
Very bad now
Avoid
Changed management and the difference is noticeable. Food doesn’t taste the same for the bad. Sad. I had drunken noodles, they were burnt.
We have eaten at this restaurant for a long time. Recently the restaurant got bought out by some new Thai owners. The food has gone from good to excellent. I love the freshness of the ingredients and the flavor of the sauces. In fact, it’s now one of the best Thai restaurants in the Annapolis area. We will come back here often.
Excellent service, food volume was small paid full dinner price at 11:30 a.m., the meal came with onion skins as well as onion.
I use to love the food here so much that I went out of my way to grab a late lunch today . I was underwhelmed and disappointed my regular spicy eggplant was bland and the sauce was bland gooey and almost tasteless . My chi tea was the only good thing I wasted 17 dollars . Won’t be returning.
We had a really nice dinner at M Thai! The atmosphere was really nice and service was great.

Very cute local Thai place. Service is relatively quick, food is AMAZING!! M Thai is always on my go to restaurant list.
Great little Thai restaurant. Food is prevent decent and the prices are very reasonable. The peanut curry dishes and and the pad Thai are my favorite. The parking situation is always tricky there in the evening but worth the hassle if you're a fan of Thai food.
Impatient customer service. I called to ask questions about the menu to make sure I was getting things I could eat due to my dietary restriction. The lady interrupted me and said, "OK, Ma'am what do you want to order? I am busy." I said I wasn't quite ready to order because my husband is also needing to look at the menu and I just wanted to get some questions answered ahead of ordering. She hung up. A simple, we'd be happy to take your order when you're ready please call back would have been a simple way of handling in a way that doesn't exude impatience.
Very nice place that I would have never found. The service was great, along with the food. I came 10 minutes before I was told the kitchen was closing. The gentleman was very kind, didn't rush me, and made my dining very enjoyable. The food and service were all great.
We eat here often and the meals are always great. Plus, they are reasonable. You need to make room for their fried banana and ice cream dessert! Heavenly. The atmosphere is not up to the level of the food and service.
Fantastic Pad Thai and green curry. Stopped on a whim, but absolutely will be my go-to from now on!
Good authentic Thai food here. Stopped here on the way back from the beach….no not Rehobeth or Dewey, the other one. It was quiet and glad it was open. Service was good and friendly. Food was served quickly and fresh. We could hear the chef preparing the food in the kitchen which is part of the authenticity of Thai. Iodine preparation.
Food was great but not service. She tried to talk us out of eating there, said take out had 10 orders ahead of me. I told her I had time, she said only one working and had a lot to do. Made two other couples leave.
We waited 10 minutes to even be greated, then told we were too late to be served. The 10 minutes we waited was the exact difference in time that they told us we were too late to eat.
Deliciously authentic food in a low key folksy Thai atmosphere. Drunken noodles and red curry were fantastic.
My husband says, it's all good 👍
Pad Thai was legit. Nice family here.
Art was very helpful when choosing our menu and listened to our story and made us feel like family. He was very friendly and the food was very delicious. We cleared our plates! 🍽️
We ordered lad na and larb gai with a side of rice, both were flavorful and filling.
I drove 16 miles to come here for the green curry. It gave me diarrhea and stomach pains for one week. My wife. Ordered the chicken pot Thai noodles, and it smelled of decomposing.
Would never recommend this place
Food was mostly delicious. Dumpling were a bit strange (corn?) but the pad kaprow was delicious. Pad Thai on the sweet side.
We were on the whole pleased with the dinner but we’re put off by newsmax spewing hate and conspiracy theories from the tv above us. Kinda dampened the mood.
Asked for spicy, there was NO SPICE.
Asked for no broccoli, lots of broccoli.
Would not recommend.
Good for delivery take out, but they play Fox News and Newsmax in there pretty loud and it doesn’t make for a good dining experience.
I have ordered from this restaurant for years and have never had a problem. I ordered food on door dash and asked for medium spice level. The food was so spicy it was inedible, definitely not normal. I called the restaurant to advise them of the issue and the woman who answered the phone told me I had to call door dash and hung up on me. I called back to explain that I wanted them to be aware of what happened so they could correct the problem and the woman talked over me and hung up on me again. Reading other recent reviews, it appears that I am not the only one who has experienced bad customer service here. Doesn’t seem like this restaurant is heading in the best direction. I will not be going back to support a business who treats humans like garbage.
This place serves authentic Thai food. Always so happy when I eat here; the food is fantastic, and the space is very nice and cozy! Eat here since 2017
I had the most disgusting experience with this establishment. On this day at 12:36 pm i called in to place my order and as i was explaining my order, this mannerless human being rudely interrupts me, i quickly respond and said "Do not speak to me in this manner". I had planned on addressing this calmly upon picking up my order. As a business owner i know how it is hiring staff that do not represent the Business in the way they'll want to be represented. Boy! Was i in for a rude awakening, this uncouth humanbeing in the red polo started raising her voice at me while i tried to explain to her that i was only trying to clarify my order. Then while still raising her voice at me, she stated she remembered me from a previous order - Aha! As a black woman, my choice to do business with any established is based on how they make me feel. My intention was to help correct the behavior and clarify any misunderstanding then pick up my food. It was at that time i realized that neither my presence nor my business was needed at this location. To the owner of the establishment, Thanapor Pornphinyawong, there's clearly a mistreatment of certain types of people at your establishment ( read the most recent review before mine). Is this what you support? Is this the caliber of staff that represents your restaurant?
This is a SHAME! A BIG SHAME and does not speak true to the Thailand culture and community!
Thought we’d try this place as a new thai alternative to Lemongrass. Walked in at 6pm and waited ten minutes with not one staff member approaching us. Half of the tables were empty, with a couple of them being taken by people waiting for take out. When asking the staff if we could be seated, the response was “it’s going to be a while.” We’ll head to Lemongrass as our usual which always has great service and food.
Thai-Gate: Went into this place today for lunch, and they had Newsmax with Donald Trump on the TV in the dining room. I politely asked the owner, who was also our waiter, to turn the TV off and he refused.
After a few choice words, we left without ordering. Having a white alt-right jerk running a Thai restaurant seemed a bit odd and his behavior proved the point.
PS: Don’t think they had a basement.
Poor service, decent food
My favorite thing on the menu is the pad thai with chicken and shrimp!
The food was great. I wouldn't go any further than "thai" spicy unless you really want to sweat. Its pricey. This place was good enough to eat @ everyday but expensive enough to only get as a treat.
This is the BEST Thai restaurant! My husband and I go here whenever eat out in our neighborhood. The food is delicious, the service is quick and friendly. Even if it weren’t in our neighborhood it would be our go-to restaurant. They also do a thriving take-out business. The other night I phoned in an order and they said “that will be ready in ten minutes” and it was! Amazing! Try it out!
I had a great experience at this Thai place. The worst part about it is that it's a little bit of a drive from where I live in Annapolis, but if it was closer I'd be here quite more often!
Green mussels delish! Green curry on point! Chicken n mushrooms, flavored with ginger and lemongrass in coconut milk soup, the best of the night! We loved the fried bananas n ice cream dessert, too. All good!
A small Thai eatery in an outdoor mall setting, this restaurant serves a limited selection of Thai cuisine. Their dishes are prepared in a somewhat different manner than commonly found at other Thai restaurants, with different cuts and styles of veggies. The Thai salads here are quite good, served slightly warm which is a nice touch. Another favorite here is their appetizer sampler which makes a good start for a meal. The interior is small due to the location, but they decorated it okay. Service is run mostly by a husband and wife team, with the gentleman out front and the lady in the kitchen. They are generally nice but can get busy at times. Otherwise, food is fresh and comes out on time with good taste and presentation. Good place to try some Thai fare in Edgewater, just recommend coming during a non-peak time.
Nice taste, nice Price, nice service.I will go back here.
8/10 food, 3/10 staff.
There was one man at the front being very rude and sarcastic, even on the phone. Pretty bad. His tone was sarcastic and rude. The food WAS GREAT. I loved it. Just need a little nicer staff.
Best Thai food in the area! Friendly owners.
Food was okay, but service sucked. The owner/manager had an attitude. She was insenced when I told her the tea wasn't fresh and she slammed the replacement drink on the table. She served all dishes on the far side of table and made us reach for them. Not going back unless I hear they got new management.
Really fantastic authentic food. My wife is Thai and we both loved it. We met the owners and they were very nice and welcoming.
One of the best Thai places in the area, have been coming here for years.
My family and I had been going to this establishment for a very long time and the food has been pretty much decent in the past as well as the portions. That has changed in the last two years or so. The food is marginal at best and the portions are smaller and food more expensive. I will never spend a dime in this place ever! I tried calling them 4 times to place a very large order and the phone was busy. I decided to go and see what was going on and I tried to place a to go order and the owner stepped in and was very rude and nasty. I said I had tried calling and said we're way too busy and there was 3 small families in the dinning area. He stated we took the phone off the hook and said I can't serve you in an angered tone like he wanted to fight me or something! I said to him "do you always talk to your customers this way?! Keep it up and you'll be out of business bud! Unreal experience to say the least.
Food is so good! Portions are good for takeout! Dining in is comfy. Friendly service. Food feels like it’s home cooked!
Very good and affordable. Very pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend
The owner (old guy, like me) is difficult. He said order was going to be 20 minutes. I got there 20 minutes later than waited another 15.
He was argumentative, didn't accept Amex and offered to give my money back. No customer service what so ever. Food is average at best.
Great Chicken Pad Thai!!!! Great Price as well and very friendly staff for a quick grab and go
Finally some great Thai food! We got the drunken noodles and they were delicious. It wasn't like other places where it's just noodles and some sauce with 2 pieces of meat. This dish was filled with vegetables and meat and overall delicious. Nice healthy portions and fresh ingredients! We will be back and recommend the place to our friends!
Lady at register stupid and rude! Never ever have food ready on time ! Worst restaurant 😒 😑
Always an excellent experience!
Very good food. Love that they have so many vegetarian options!
Extensive menu. Ordered veggie green curry, soft shell crabs, and the seafood pik pow. Green curry and seafood pik pow were delicious and medium spicy dishes. The soft shell crabs were also delicious, and were coated with a great sauce as well … but was mildly spiced so as not to overwhelm the crab. Very well prepared! Service was outstanding and prices were reasonable. I will go again!
Great food, friendly staff. One of our favorite go-to places.
Service was very good. Very helpful and will make what u want. Cost was very good. The food was fantastic. A definite "come back"restaurant.
There's not a lot of options in the area for Thai food, and this place is pretty good and reasonable. I had the Pad Kee Mao. I got it as take-out, and as another reviewer mentioned... there was a weird problem where the noodles kinda stick to the bottom of the box they put it in. I'm not really sure how they can fix that, but I was able to push at them with my chopsticks to get them to come up, and the paper didn't stick to them, so it was fine.
The dish was good, wish there were a bit more noodles. Portion size was reasonable, cost was reasonable, people were nice. This place is definitely worth visiting, but not a "must visit," when in the area. Definitely the best spot for Thai food south of the river. If you're a super spicy fanatic, definitely pick up one of the sides of chili paste they have by the register -- "Thai hot" was not very hot.
4 stars because the food is above average and they were super nice.
Excellent fried Rice!
Sticky rice is AWESOME
FRESH MANGO!
Excellent high quality food. Portions are normal not supersized. Family owned with Thai roots; vegan options; pad Thai, fried rice, salmon Panang just a few of their excellent dishes
First time visiting with family and friends, food was good and prices are reasonable. Had a good time...
I just tried M Thai Kitchen for the first time ever for takeout. This was quite possibly the best meal I've ever had! The noodles are astonishingly good! I'd highly recommend the Pad Kee Mao and Chicken Satay App. Needless to say I'll be ordering again. Thank you very much!
My mom and I are from out of town, and we went to eat here with my grandparents and aunt and uncle. My mom walked into the restaurant and cheerfully told the male owner we are visiting from Seattle, Washington. He replied with “Well I’m sorry for you.” My mom laughed it off. Horrible first impression and upset me the whole night. Keep your politics out this—that’s a very disrespectful comment to a customer. Also my mom asked him if had ever spent time in Thailand and he said “no” with a rude tone for no apparent reason. Anyway, the food was ok I guess.
Great food and very friendly family service. A welcome break from chain restaurants.
1st time I tried this restaurant. Their version of Drunken Noodles was delicious!! I got to go so the only issue was the container they use soaks up the sauce and was soggy when I took it out of the bag. Service was great and so was the food. I will be going back.
I always enjoy their food and my son loves their big noodles with pork!
This is a small hole in the wall type restaurant with Amazing food! They even made a few mods to dishes at my kids request. Service was impeccable. Portions were generous. Prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be going back!
This was my first time trying this place out. The food I ordered was absolutely great! The downfall is the cardboard containers they use for the steamed wonton and the drunken noodle as it was really stuck to the container. When trying to dish out, the cardboard peels off and sticks to the noodles. My suggestion to the restaurant is to place wax paper or foil inside first before placing the food. Then again, plastic containers also works better. I do not enjoy eating cardboard.
Best food around. Wife and I love this Restaurant. Owners very nice and freindly!!!
This is the best Thai food around, and by far the best asian food in the Annapolis area. Everything there is spectacular and full of fresh vegetables.
This is one of my favorite places for lunch anywhere. I can't comment on but so much of the food, as for several years, I've been ordering exactly the same things I ordered the first time I went in there. It was that good. If you like real Thai and like spicy food--which are my favorite cuisine--then you are not going to go wrong with the tom kha gai soup and papaya salad (Thai spicy!). My husband tells me that the curries are also excellent. Sometimes you fine a jewel where you didn't expect it.
Really good family run. Thank you for our holiday masks.
Awesome drunken noodle.
Hands down the best Drunken Noodle I have ever eaten. Intoxicated with flavors and vegetables. Pull these noodles over and book ‘em cuz they are drunk af. 10/10 would order again.
Best thai food in MD, spicy eggplant is fire
Wonderful Thai food...made to order!
Their tea is excellent. It's sorry to say I have ate there
Love the food here! BYOB!
Everyone here is so nice and the food is amazing!
Great people, great food, great Thai!
Delicious food and kind staff!
The food quality is so poor and food was so expensive
The green curry is was good!
They were supposed to close at 9pm. Called around 8:15 and the line was busy for 45 minutes. Drove out to restaurant and arrived by 8:55pm, only to be told that they stopped taking orders at 8:30 and everyone was gone. Why leave your phone off the hook 15 minutes before you stop taking orders? Bad business, very unprofessional. You’ll never get my business. Ever!
Really good food, really good service. I recommend the pineapple chicken fried rice.
Really good! Great taste and although no alcohol it’s really a blessing because you can BYOB and save a ton of money!
I’m certainly no expert, but that was the best Thai food I’ve ever had! I was hoping for leftovers to take home, but didn’t have any left! The price was reasonable, the food very flavorful. Can’t wait to eat here again!
M Thai Kitchen has the best customer service and the best Thai food you will ever eat. My group of friends had ordered the food from GrubHub, but GrubHub failed to follow through with our order. These people stayed there past their hours and held onto our food so we can come and pick it up. They even gave us free Thai teas. The owners/employees were so kind to us. When we arrived home, we dig into our food, and it is amazing!!!!!! You literally cannot find a better place. 10/10 recommend!!!
Best customer service ever! Such kind people! Our GrubHub never showed to pick up our food, so we went out to get it ourselves. Even though it was after closing, they let us in AND gave us Thai tea. Thank you! 💕
Returned again 2019.... Just as good as last year!
Always great food
Good food, good service.
I order from this place all the time there are no more descent chinese food places left on the peninsula. This place gives a really good meal the owners husband and wife are always super nice.
Great menu and service!!!!
Just had a great experience and meal at M Thai Kitchen. Service was great and food was fantastic. My husband and I love spicy food and we were not disappointed. We visited Thailand last year and loved the fact that the food had the same authenticity we anticipated. We can’t wait to go back and bring friends.
I love this place! The food is great, but unfortunately, one day we decided to come here and since my brother is picky, he asked for no vegetables in his rice. Sometimes when we are waiting we like to watch the people working, while we were doing this we saw my brother's plate of rice, and a man picking out something in the dish with his bare hands! I then was thinking about all of the things I had watched him touch. Also, I am guessing the cook, closed an hour early. They are usually very nice and the food is always good, but they could have used a spoon or gloves to take the stuff out of the food.
Always been served great Thai food, my go to for Thai.
My only experience was a take out order of spring rolls and pineapple fried rice. Both items weren't overpowered by soy sauce, so I could taste the individual flavors of the fresh veggies used. Very, very nice!
Good Thai Food
The food and service is good.
We go all the time very good
Very good Thai food and cheap
Let’s just say, I won’t be going back and would not recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed in the preparation and taste of the dishes we ordered.
The Best!!!
We came in at the tail end of their lunch shift but we still received wonderful service very kind very polite. The food was fresh and hot and came out in a timely manner. and it was literally the best mango sticky rice I have ever tasted
Just left there with my husband, such a good experience!!! My husband has been to Thailand while in the Marines and said that this food was every bit as authentic. Great service and explanations of dishes, including spice level recommendations. We will absolutely be going back, think we found one of our new favorite spots :)
Always amazing food and great atmosphere and service!
The BEST Thai food. Service is a bit slow but worth the wait!!
Everyone's food was excellent. We ordered the pad thai, green curry, and cashew chicken.
Best Thai food hands down! These guys rock
reasonably priced. you can bring your own wine. good service. best thai food in annapolis. authentic
I got the Red Curry and it was awesome! Tons of flavor, nicely decorated interior, and the staff was very friendly. Everything was perfect!
One of the better thai places in Annapolis. Quality food, good service.
VERY flavorful food and the best I've had yet!
Ate there last Tuesday and again on Saturday. Food was great!
Best Thai food in the area!
Furniture is a little lacking, but wow... Everyone's dishes were amazing. Shared everything between our party of 5. Thai iced tea, of course, amazing
Been to the restaurant multiple times trying different dishes. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys traditional thai food.
Delicious, great service, great prices I will definitely return with my husband next week!
Excellent food and service!
Great little places. Owners were very nice. Food, service was great. Atmosphere is quiet and peaceful on the day I visited. Decor is quaint.
Friendly staff, moderate process, excellent food
Worth the drive out of Annapolis if you want authentic Thai.
Amazing service amazing food best thai around
Always a warm and homey place. BYOB and they take reservations.
