Thai-(ish) Snacks and Street Food
Wow, this place is the best Thai we've had in Portland. I don't want to be hyperbolic but I honestly do not remember having Thai this good in any part of the US. The flavors remind me of some of the small hole-in-the-wall eateries you'd have in alleyways in Bangkok (I was a dish-washer at one). You could taste the smokiness and the heat from the wok. We ordered chive dumpling (my favorite), GraPow Gai Kai Dow (another favorite), Panang Nuah (a luxuriously decadent curry), Moo Ping pork skewers, and sticky rice. We couldn't believe we've been sleeping on this place as locals. Needless to say, we've found a hidden local gem.
If I could give this place a million stars, I would. Everything was absolutely delicious!! I got the TomKhaGai and the Piyathida's Dumplings, both were beyond amazing tasting. My sister had the GraPow Gai Kai Dow and some rolls (I forgot the name) and she said hers was so delicious as well. Great portions and the people working were so sweet and fast! You definitely have to check this place out!
The food here is outrageously good. I ate there yesterday and I’m still marveling at how good it was and looking at apartments within walking distance because it’s just that good! They’ve created a surprising little oasis off of Congress, a hidden gem that you just have to share!
This place is truly outstanding! We were driving through Portland and wanted to get something quick. We were running late with traffic and they sweetly called to make sure we hadn’t forgotten about our order. The food is clearly incredible quality with amazing flavors and perfectly spiced with a kick! It’s a favorite of ours that we’ll continue to come back to every time we’re in Portland! Thanks guys!
This place is a true gem. It’s our go to for an easy delicious satisfying meal that doesn’t break the bank. The moo ping is SO good and also those dumplings! Service is so warm and friendly and they have a few small tables outside to sit and enjoy your meal or just take it to go.
Mikey and his staff really take Thai Cuisine to another level! He artfully creates dishes that combine flavors in a way that are so delicious! The dishes we have tried are not overly seasoned or greasy like other Thai restaurants, they have a clean and "fresh from the kitchen" taste that only comes from someone who really knows how to cook. Keep up the fantastic work Chef!

Little Pig is delicious and one of my absolute favorites!

This place is incredible. Food is amazing, so much flavor. The family that owns and operates it are some extremely caring and loving people. I love the little pig and will always recommend this place to friends.
Got the dumplings they were good! Pretty small dumplings but flavor was amazing
Some of the best Thai I’ve had in Portland! Prices are reasonable given the generous portion sizes! The Gra Pow is awesome as are the chive cakes, will definitely be back!
I love you so much. This is one of the best spots in town
TomKhaGai and Piyathida's Dumplings were so good it was transcendent! Can't wait to come back soon and try everything else. This place is a real hidden gem.

Quick service, great food. I particularly loved the Laos sausage and crispy spring rolls. Will be back!
Mind-blowingly delicious. Super-fresh, wild and bold flavors. Extremely high-quality food, and you can tell it’s made with love. Could not recommend more!
What place has only 5 star reviews? Really? Yes. Really. Luscious food, remarkable flavors and textures, made and served with loving care. Dumplings, Soup, Thai Chicken and Rice, all scrumptious. We cannot wait to return. And the price is right!
The dumplings were the best I’ve ever had! Such a cute spot, quick and really sweet service! Will definitely be back!
Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten!!
My girlfriend said after her fist bite “this soup is transcendent. If it were the only food I could eat for the rest of my life I would be happy”. Seriously. The food is awesome. The people are so kind and inviting. Would recommend.
The host was very friendly and the chef was so skilled and accommodating. We ordered the chive cakes, TomKhaGai, GraPow Gai Kai Dow, and the Piyathidas dumplings. The food came out perfect- warm, delicious, and satisfying. If we lived here, this place would be a weekly staple. We're definitely coming back next time we're in town.
some of the best Thai-ish food you’ll have in New England
Insanely good Banh mi !!
Love from Maryland !!! Best local street Thai food ever! Cute outdoor seating, clean, friendly service. Dishes were hot and fresh! I loved the pork skewers, sticky rice in banana leaves, dumplings, krapow ground chicken, Tom Kha soup… everything was amazing and delicious! Highly recommend.
One of the best Thai places I have ever been to. I would highlight just one dish but they were all absolutely amazing. I have been to many Thai places but this goes down as by far my favorite. So fresh and delicious.
Absolutely delicious!! Food melts in your mouth and makes you question how you didn’t know about this gem sooner!
Really sweet spot! Food was unreal!
I will never look at chicken and rice the same again. So good. The server wash a peach too.
Good Food. Very special Thai Style that I cannot find elsewhere in the US. Delicate dishes. Food size is a bit too small for me(sticky rice). Otherwise a perfect place to eat. I bumped to 5 now cuz their service is great and they care about their reputation.

Best Thai food we have ever had! Great family vibe with very friendly service.
Genuinely the best dumplings I’ve ever had in my life. I could eat 14 of them. Very friendly people too.
Food is super flavorful. We loved everything we got. Cute vibe.
I mean, absolutely blown away. Travelled Thailand last summer, and haven’t been able to find anything around that quite hit the same spot (incl. boda, kinda meh over there). Bingo, this place is the spot! So excited to have this in town, only a matter of time before this blows up.
The coconut chicken soup (tom kha gai) is a masterpiece
The best food we’ve had in Portland. Truly incredible. Wow.
Tucked away in Portland- this has to be one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. The owners and their family are the sweetest people ever. The food is true to its culture with an awesome fusion twist. The Choo-Chee Bahn Mi is one of the most memorable Bahn Mi I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Little Pig to anyone and everyone. <3
Cute, kind and delicious. Panag nuah is a yummy favorite.
Amazing food! Would highly recommend stopping by Little Pig! I arrived 10 minutes after closing and they still accommodated me!
Not your typical Thai joint as I normally go for noodle dishes, but I was pleasantly impressed with everything we ordered. It was all very flavorful and I would definitely go back. The only downside was there is not a lot of seating - two outdoor tables.
I just discovered Little Pig and they will now be a 'must have' when we are in Portland!! Friendly staff, amazing, authentic, high quality food...need I say more? It is a small place with a short menu, but we didn't have trouble finding enough selection to meet our needs. They have a few small tables outside that you can eat at, however I believe they do mostly take-out.
I've taken out (mostly) and dined in. I love talking with the owner and her daughters when they are there. Such a sweet family owned business. The food is stellar. I have not been disappointed yet. I have tried all but two items on the menu. I plan on trying everything. I recommend all my friends to eat here. I love cooking, so my expectations are high. I have no complaints.
Affordable delicious food, great genuine service, beautiful bouquets set out on the tables. Perfect little date night spot!
Love this place!! The people are very nice and very allergy aware and the food is very authentic! I got the sticky rice, the grapow gai kai dow, and the tomkhagai. I will definitely go back if I'm in the area!
Very very good food! Bahn mi and chive cakes are excellent
Really great tasty food. The service has always been super friendly. Have been there a few times and plan on going back! Their spring rolls are delicious.
I've eaten at Little Pig multiple times and thoroughly enjoy a variety of their dishes, including the Panang Nuah, Moo Ping, Piyathida's Dumplings, TomKhaGai, and the Choo-Chee Banh Mi. Every time I eat here reminds me why it's my favorite restaurant. Little Pig consistently delivers delicious food, and it's always nice to say hi to everyone there. If you're looking for Thai food, or just really good food, I highly recommend giving it a try (it might just become your favorite too); I'm already looking forward to my next visit to sample more of the menu.
We got the Banh Mi, dumplings, and meat skewers. It was all amazing! So flavorful and delicious 😋
This place is a true gem. It’s our go to for an easy delicious satisfying meal that doesn’t break the bank. The moo ping is SO good and also those dumplings! Service is so warm and friendly and they have a few small tables outside to sit and enjoy your meal or just take it to go.
Wow
Food slaps, vibes are great
Ho hum another 5 star review for Little Pig. This place will knock your socks off. The supposed foodie destination restaurants in Portland ME are good, I would say, but not super great. Little pig is super super great. Tom Kha soup a feast of tangy perfection, delicately balance, every spoon an unmitigated delight. The dumplings are as good as at Din Tai Fung. The choo chi in the ban mhi bun is a delight, the best fried fish i've had in Maine. I'm not often impressed with food, but when I am I'm eager to give them what they deserve. Little Pig is fabulous.
Amazing hidden neighborhood gem
Most delicious authentic Thai food ever! The owners are so kind. Just here for the weekend and been wanting to try this for a while. Perfect little hidden gem. Thank you for feeding us, we will definitely be back!
The food here is always amazing! The Portland Press even wrote an article about this place. The dumplings and the moo ping skewers are rich and flavorful balanced by fresh tangy Thai flavors. The Tom Kha Gai has a complex mix between the zing of the lemon grass, the creaminess of the coconut milk, and the savoriness of the chicken. It's one of the best (if not the best) Tom Khas I've ever had. So good!
The Gra Pow is soooo good, me and my partner come here at least once a week and I think we might be addicted to it. Also the owner puts little candies in the bags and that's fun.
This is the best Thai food in all of Maine hands-down!! No contest.
This place is amazing and punching way above its weight for its tiny size. In a town full of pretty good Thai food, Little Pig is a cut above!
We got the Grapow Gai Kai Dow and Piyathida's dumplings and both were amazing! Everything tasted very fresh. Got some Shrimp Crackers as well for a little snack later. Very tasty!
They might say that they are Thai-ish here, but all we can say is Wow, Wow, and Wow! We ordered for pickup the Dumplings, Choo-Chee Banh Mi, Shrimp Crackers and Grilled Lao Sausage. Every dish was above and beyond everything that we have tried for Thai in the whole state of Maine and add Boston to that too. I could have eaten a bucket of the Lao Sausage, and the Banh Mi just blew us away. Shrimp Crackers and the Dumplings are a must order too!
This place is a hidden gem! The Choo-chee Bahn Mi is possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Lovely baguette, light and crispy fish that somehow stays crispy in a delicious curry sauce. The GraPow Gai Kai Dow is also delicious. I’ll be going back soon to try the Grilled Lao Sausage.
Amazing flavors, genuinely kind people, great options. Exceeded my expectations and blew my socks off.
Remarkably delicious flavors, warm and lovely staff, and a nice casual patio area to eat. The menu is short and on point. Counter service only.
Wow the food was honestly incredible!! Went with the Moo Ping and Grapow but everything on the menu looked so good. Both dishes were to die for and the flavors were spot on. Already planning on coming back tomorrow for lunch to try the Choo-Chee Banh Mi.
Perfect spot to grab a quick bite to eat. There is even a cute little eating area out front to enjoy your meal.
Overall, excellent food, great prices and generous portion sizes. A must try when in Portland!
We had so much fun here and the food was amazing. Better than some places in Thailand!
Loads of authentic flavor packed into a small unassuming take out place! We had the choo-chee bahn mi, dumplings, and tuna laab. Everything was amazingly tasty and fresh. I'm sad Im visiting from out of town, cause I would truely eat here every week if I was local.
Amazing food! Decided to stop for food by chance and was the best discovery I could have made!
I can't add any pictures because there was no food left 🙊
Tastes like it does in Thailand. The West End is lucky to have such an authentic hole-in-the-wall place within walking distance. The food was ready quickly and everything was very high quality. Excited to try more that the Little Pig has to offer! Grateful for these new flavors in the neighborhood.
Loved the Tuna Laab! We also got to try the Lao Sausage. Incredible!
I had the sausages and they were fantastic. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Absolutely delicious banh mi and lovely outdoor seating. Come check these people out!
Super friendly ordering via web…called me to make sure of order time and then the food was delish - super flavor plus a little heat, big fan! Thank you
Fish banh mi, sticky rice, dumplings, traditional Thai dipping sauce: all excellent! Friendly service :) A+++
This is definitely going to be my new go-to takeout place. Easy online ordering with great pictures. Text updates were accurate and the food was ready quickly. And the FOOD. IS. DELICIOUS. I got the dumplings and the Grapow Gai Kai Dow, and both were super flavorful and very satisfying. Definitely the best dumplings in town.
Outstanding!! A hidden gem in the west end and the food was immaculate. The fried fish banh mi was to die for, the dumplings were also some of the best I’ve had in Portland. Will absolutely return!!!
