Classic & inventive Thai fare is prepared in a pint-sized cottage with a few indoor/outdoor seats.
The best Thai place in town, and one of the best I’ve ever been to. The staff are incredibly kind. They know what they’re doing in the kitchen. I can’t recommend it enough!
I stumbled upon the cutest little Thai spot, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The uncle there was so warm and welcoming. The food was yummy, though the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles tasted a bit alike. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!
I'm visiting Bangor and when I drove by and saw their sign saying they had the best drunken noodles in the world, I had to try. I've lived in bigger cities with excellent Thai cuisine and wanted to compare. Ordering in person through a screen door to a shoeless owner was odd, but sometimes ecclectic is part of the charm. He was kind, and even gave me a free soda while I was waiting.
The drunken noodles were flavorful, but they used the thin rice stick noodles you'd normally find in Pad Thai, not the wide, thick, chewy noodles that make drunken noodles great. At $14 for a lunchtime order, they were also a bit on the pricy side.
There's good and bad here. As for the claim that these are the best in the world? That myth is busted.
Genuinely authentic and delicious food! Very kind owners who cooked us food. Strongly recommended you try it!
They claim to have the World’s Best Drunken Noodles and I think I have to agree in that this was the best drunken noodles that I ever tasted. They have spice levels that go from 1 to 5, if I remember correctly. I went with level 3 but I want to increase the next time I come back. The portion was good as well. I definitely recommend for those craving some Thai cuisine in the area!

The sauce? I could drink it with a straw (but I didn’t…this time). I’m a Bangor local and got take out. 10/10 would go again.
Love this spot. Always has the freshest food! Enjoy having this meal with friends and good company.

Very good food and the service is always great. They treat you like family and it’s always an enjoyable experience. They have the best crab rangoon, lots of good ingredients and flavors in the filling.
Take out only. Great little spot. Drunken noodles are recommended. Old school good food give it a try!!
I would definitely recommend the thai fried rice and the surprise me.Very good food, friendly people and the most authentic Thai food ever.
Great local restaurant! Small family business, great thai food. Everyone is super nice, highly recommend going here. 10/10 always
Great, authentic thai food. The owners are amazing, funny and great chefs! It seems like a hole in the wall, but it's the best place to go for thai food in the area!
I have ordered here a few times and always enjoy it. Today I decided the "surprise me" option and what a delight. They made me Massaman curry and it was delicious. I also got a beautiful salad with lots of very fresh veggies, a sweet chilli dressing and dumplings. I might always pick this option now. The couple are so sweet, they wanted to check with me before I left, to be sure I wouldn't be disappointed by what they made me. I most certainly was not. I love their tiny little cottage and enjoyed sitting at a shaded table while waiting for my food.
Terrible food and very bad. I had a piece of metal in my food. A very upset and unsatisfied. I hope they shut down to be real honest because they should not be charging the prices. They are for food that is not worth it. Please stay far away from this restaurant. Thanks
Delicious thai! The drunken noodles are phenomenal!
Look I wanted to love this place and support a small local business. I'm not one to generally leave a bad review, but it was so terrible I had to. We ordered red curry and tofu pad thai. The pad thai was just a bunch of noodles and some peanuts, no vegetables at all and had no flavor other than heat. We ordered a level 2 spicy and I'm not a spice wimp but the heat had me in tears. Could only manage maybe 5 bites before I gave up. The red curry on the other hand was ordered at a level 3 and was so bland with no flavor. The curry sauce was like basil was walked through dishwasher, the vegetables barely cooked and the chicken looked suspect and that's being kind. After 2 bites we also gave up on that. An overwhelming negative experience and $45 wasted for 2 meals including fees. Save yourself the money it's just not worth it.
If you're in the mood for some truly amazing Thai cuisine, Thai Etc should definitely be on your list! I had the pleasure of trying their drunken noodles, and I can honestly say they were absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, boasting a tantalizing balance of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate. The ingredients were fresh, the spices were perfectly measured, and the portion was generous.
Highly recommended!
Have always had awesome food until recently. The last two times my pad Thai had been terrible. I gave it another shot after the first bad experience and it was not any better. Such a bummer!
It’s nasty inside there
About the worst tasting Pad Thai and fried rice I’ve ever had in my life... They’re sponsored on Uber Eats, so the high cost definitely did not go to food quality but delivery platforms. I appreciate such delivery option exists in the area, but some competition would be good to bring the overall quality up.
About the food, the Pad Thai tasted so artificial and weird, like uncooked noodle swimming in lime scented detergent. The rice in the fried rice tasted stale, at least 3 days old, there’re also chunks of baby carrots, who uses baby carrots instead of actual carrots in an Asian stir fry?! Seasoning almost nonexistent, so you really are just eating days old rice.
Best Thai food I've had from Maine to Florida, dont sleep in this incredible food.
Had to go to this trash heap for a door dash delivery. Apparently bags are required, and since we didn't have one the boy said that we could sing instead. Jokingly I said we didn't know a song to sing and apparently that was the wrong answer, because he told us to open the door and leave without taking the food that was sitting by the door on the counter. We stepped outside and called the customer, explaining what had happened. In disbelief she asked if we could go talk to the cashier but the door was locked and the boy's woman wouldn't let us in, knowing that we were on the phone with the customer. The customer called the store and asked for the food to be given to us but they refused and we had to cancel the pickup on our end. Not sure if the woman and her husband got their food, and I'm not sure when singing became a requirement to pick up an order. I'm genuinely excited to watch your business run itself into the ground and I'll happily tell everyone about how this place should be avoided at all costs. Congratulations. -5/5 stars.
This dude was dead set on making me humiliate myself to pick up a bag of food. First he told me over and over to sing for him???? I refused nicely because i thought it was bizarre. Then he told me to go outside and scream “ I need a bag” which i refused. So he made me leave then locked me out of the shed they call a restaurant. I’ve had some weird experiences with weird creepy men but this was completely out of line. Long story short if you are a delivery service i would refuse at all costs because this man is either going to degrade you (if your a man) Or make you humiliate yourself in public (if your a woman) over an order that’s sitting on a counter by a window with flies landing on it. Absolute freak show.
Our absolute favorite local restaurant and our go-to for a great meal on a lazy day. Portions are huge and the flavors are incredible, so you get a real bang for your buck here. The cashew pad Thai is amazing, but whatever you choose to order, make sure you get a side of crab rangoons and shrimp dumplings.
The food is so delicious! I ordered off doordash and requested it be extremely spicy way above their level 5 and they did not disappoint.
I love their food. Definitely give them a try.
Delicious and fresh, with very kind people running the store. I have ordered on door dash and picked it up myself and both experiences were excellent.
Y'all, I called for the Tom Kha soup and asked for it to be as spicy at possible. I just want to say it's absolutely delicious. I loved it. Thank you for making it just right! I will be back, and next time I will try them crab rangoons that looked delicious!
Tommy Is the best Thai in this Town.
Great Pad Thai
The food was very good - so why three stars? The prices! I got a single stir fry meal and it cost $19. Yeah, I know, "inflation, blah, blah, blah" - but come on. This is a take-out hole in the wall place with very low overhead. $12 would be reasonable for that meal.
$15 would be stretching it.
My boyfriend and I split the surprise me, they made a pumpkin curry that was AMAZING! the rice pudding was also really good. Not super expensive and good sized portions!
Absolutely Amazing! The food is fantastic. They accommodate spice level. It's a true authentic restaurant with the sweetest people running it. I love small businesses and this one is not to be missed!
Recommend ordering ahead to make it easier.
Read the other one-star reviews! I’m not the only one. I picked up from here for Uber Eats yesterday. I will NEVER personally spend another penny here for myself after the husband owner berated me because I didn’t have a bag with me (which is not required by Uber by the way). Someone else from another food deliver service showed up while I was there…with a bag. The owner attempted to snatch the bag from underneath the driver’s arm to which she replied, “no thank you I’ll get it.” This other driver then also stated to the owner “you are impossible to pick up from.” Clearly she’s had similar experiences. When I asked why he was the only one (restaurant) who required a bag he threatened to call the police. Umm what?? I asked to please call them so they can see on the camera that I was just asking a question. When the food was finally done, he stood there stiff, refusing to hand me the customers food. He stood still with his right arm tight to his side with his elbow bent and the handle of the bag hanging off of his fingers. He stood there until I had to remove the bag from his hand myself AND when I tried to remove the bag, he began to curl his fingers to make it difficult to remove the bag. The customer I picked up for told me the wife owner berated the customers brother one time because someone else didn’t plow her driveway (I have the screenshot). And then my client shared her horror story about the way husband owner berated her when she picked up for Uber regarding the fact that she was in the way of his cameras. THIS IS HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS?? Plus all the flies???? No thanks.
DELICIOUS! I was trying to think of more to say but I can't stop eating. Dumpling fillings have an amazing spice
Fantastic food and wonderful service!
Amazing food! Great flavor! Very friendly staff. They gave me a free tapioca dessert with my order and that was amazing as well.
All of the order had fresh, flavorful ingredients and didn't leave me feeling sick afterwards like other restaurants do with their oily, greasy ingredients. One of the orders I had was the "surprise me", where the chef makes something not on-menu. I thought it was the best thing I ordered, and wish more restaurants had this option to allow chefs to be creative with orders!
Many of the dishes I ordered at spice level 3 and 4. I love spicy food, but level 4 was definitely hot. I can't imagine how level 5 is, but I'll find out next time I order! If you aren't a spicy kind of person, don't go above level 2.
I definitely recommend you pick up your order so the food is at its peak quality when you go to eat it, instead of waiting long for delivery service. Plus you'll get to meet the friendly owners there!
Don't be deceived by the quaint little building; this establishment serves some of the best Thai food in the area! I'll definitely be ordering from here again very soon. Don't expect to be seated or dine in since it's not that type of restaurant (which is perfectly fine, not all restaurants need to be dine in or have seating).
Note: I was so tempted to order a pint of the hot oil that was cooking in the pot when I was waiting for the order to finish. It looked and smelled amazing, maybe next time!
5/5 rating. One of the best restaurants in Bangor.
Best drunken noodles in the whole damn state!
YOU KNOW it's good food when the establishment is just a kitchen with one kind lady inside.
Yummy! Thank you!!
Generally, this place is a takeout place or a delivery place. But the food is delightful and the people who run it are incredible human beings. You can't really go inside and sit down and eat and the building doesn't look that great, but you got to try the food because it is absolutely delicious. I Recommend the yellow curry.
Have ordered to go from here online a few times so far. The staff are always kind and considerate, the food has been great and the price is incredibly fair. Has become a recent go-to for me. Great food from great folks!
Quick take out spot.
Been coming to this shop since 2001. Tell me how a shop that looks as terrible as it does makes it that long. Because they make the best damned thai food around! That's how you make it. Take out only but go find a table in a park and stuff your face. Soooo good
This is my first time ordering from here and I’ve passed it hundreds of times. I ordered delivery (Uber eats) so I didn’t expect it to be as good as if I went and picked it up and ate near by, now I must say it is good very flavorful I got the Deuce Supreme lvl 3 spice. And it’s pretty good I do have to say I was hopeful for wider, thicker, chewier noodles than the thin rice noodles but the flavor is great and perfectly spicy.
Thai Etc is a great option for takeout food in Bangor. The owners are very friendly and care about their customers. I really enjoy there chicken pad thai. I definitely recommend stopping by for some excellent Thai food!
There is no place like this! I have gone to so many tai restaurants and they do not match this one. I am obsessed and unfortunately I moved away from Maine and I miss this food so much. I would say they do have the worlds best drunken noodles
Delicious, high quality, fresh and fast food. I love their combo specials which give you a few appetizer tidbits along with your main course. Great idea!
Berated me once as a DoorDash driver for not dressing well enough, says a lot coming from a shed that sells Thai food. I did eat there myself once before and If you close your eyes while you pick up your food, you can pretend like there’s not even a chance that you would get food poisoning.
Everything here is amazing, including the owners!
I absolutely love this place.. the food is amazing and the owner Tippy is a very funny nice lady who is always good for a conversation and a laugh.. Her husband is also is a very kind nice man..I'd recommend this place to anyone.. the chicken curry is soo good 😊. I don't like a lot of spice and it's made perfect everytime.. my husband does like spice and he gets the drunkin noodles and they are also very good and made just rite.. come here if u like good fresh Thai food 😋 🥰
Food is always hot fresh and delicious everytime! I'm always greeted with a smile! It's so good!!
The food is horrible and so unhealthy. The price is not reasonable. Will never go again.
The food is always ready or you do not want long and they are great there so friendly
They aren't kidding when they say they have the best drunken noodles! Delicious!
Wow this was amazing. Very simple place no dine in but food is amazing. Had the yellow curry with Chicken and Crab Rangoon and thoroughly enjoyed.
The good was very good, prepared quickly, and the owner (I think) was very nice. We had a little chat and she sent us on our way with a little treat. An excellent find on our way through town. Plus, beautiful sunflowers outside.
Tommy is THE best! He appreciates his customers just as much as we appreciate his amazing food. Drunkin noodle spicy level 4 🤌
Hole in the wall with courteous and delightful service as well as delicious food. The Rangoon, dumplings and Drunken Noodles with chicken were the best I’ve ever had of each item.
I haven’t been here in years, at least 7and not even sure if it’s the same owners, but this was my hidden gem in college and the one thing I looked forward to after a tough week. Just looked them up to give a friend a food suggestion and the fact they are still around and thriving speaks volumes. Give them ALL your business! You won’t regret it.
friendly, great food. they have shared some great thai desserts, prices are good. tough location, would love to see them expand.
crab rangoons are awesome, bring back the satay salad!
Really excellent authentic Thai food. Limited menu, but the specials offer a variety of favorites
I ordered a Pad Thai three-star because it was for my fiance and our daughter would try it too. Sadly the heat seems to come from, what I know as, Thai sweet chili sauce... mostly sweet. Our three wasn't barely a one.
We just flew in from Tennessee and this was the first place we ordered from. Everything was delicious and there was so much!
So sad about my experience here. We chose this restaurant based on the high average rating.
The good: friendly service, cute place.
BUT.
Chicken pad Thai, spice “3” had undercooked noodles and tasted of straight-out-of-the jar sweet and sour sauce. Inedible. I was/am hungry and tried to eat it, I really tried. I could not.
Beef pad Thai, spice “1” was too spicy, but fully cooked noodles at least! Same sweet-and-sour sauce taste problem.
Drunken noodles, spice “3” had the wrong noodles (very thin) and tasted like tomato paste. Wrong sauce altogether.
Be warned! This place serves low quality ingredients, dishes are not as described (mystery meat, spaghetti noodles, as other 1 star reviews have mentioned). When the issues with the food were brought up, the staff were rude and hung up on us. The interior was dirty and disorganized, stay away.
Disappointed
Definitely one of the better Pad Thai dishes I've had anywhere from Old Town to Winslow and in-between. The only downsides are how tiny the place is and how you pick up orders (I wish it was dine-in friendly) and also a slight language barrier, which I know isn't anyone's fault. I still got Pad Thai, it just wasn't the cashew version I was hoping for. Guess I'll have to order online next time instead to try the level 5 Cashew Pad Thai.
Fantastic food! Must have if you're in Bangor. Sign said best drunken noodles in the world and I'm not going to disagree.....
Terrible food! Our outgoing order was really disappointing. Whoever cooked it knows nothing about cooking Thai food or seasoning. Everything was bad.
First time eating there. It was called pan something, I can't remember. It had beef and noodles and bean sprouts. It was absaf>
This is my 5th time ordering from here but food is always incredible!
The ladies are so nice and today they gave me a free chicken wing. The curries and basil fried rice are my favorites
I ordered a pad Thai entree and a set of crab Rangoons. Whoever answered asked for how many and I said 1 person, the person on the line laughed and stated "so sad". Didn't order the food and wouldn't try to again, no need to be rude 🤷♀️
This place was amazing! The crab rangoon was on point, basil fried rice awesome, and shumai was perfect. Employees were kind and joking, personable and I would go here everyday if I could!
Absolutely awesome food! The "Surprise me" choice is awesome. Never know what they will whip up for you! I only wish they gave me a note to tell me what is what so I can get it again haha! I'm sure you could ask. Wife had the drunken noodles and they were awesome! The portion sizes are huge. So dont worry about not getting enough, oh and they give you meal prep containers for your food which is awesome. You can eat out in their picnic tables or take it home for a take out night!
Delicious food, great customer service and such sweet owners! Highly suggest this place if you like Thai or want to try something new!!
I tried the surprise me and it came as a little care package with a can of Pepsi, edamame, and udon curry for $20. I chose mild (I suck at handling spice but love the flavor) it's got tons of meat and shrimp and the noodles are perfectly cooked. The edamame were lightly seasoned and yummy. The Pepsi was nice and ice cold too. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. A little personal but I've been down on my luck and mental health and this really hit the spot for me I will be coming back. Thanks for the good food!
Small little family owned restaurant. Great food, great people. What's not to like?
Great food and great and quick service! Been going to Thai 2 Go or now Thai Etc since high school and will keep going. Always a great experience
Pad Thai bad dry, undercooked noodles. Oily and no spice as well. Crab Rangoon tasted like week old canned clam chowder and were soggy. Rangoons made me feel sick. Called for a refund, they offered me 15 dollars on a 27 dollar order. Other than that they were nice.
Its the best Thai place in Maine. The owner is super nice, the restaurant is cozy, and convenient. Everything is delicious, its a real treat.
Hands down, the best Thai food in the state! I stop here every time I pass through Bangor.
Foods terrible first off!!! Thanks for the negative review for not bringing out my food bag. 10 feet from my car to door, and when you just leave it on the counter to go cold! Id start cleaning health inspector is on the way!
This guy is an OG.
The drunken noodles 🤤😍
The Thai lady was nice and gave me a complimentary drink. The curry was excellent.
Food was good but it's messed up that I get charged $2 extra dollars for them NOT to put egg or fish sauce on my food because of an allergy? 👎🏾
Best Thai in Bangor hands down.
Pad see noodles is not the same noodle they use...flat rice noodles
Chow fun
BEST authentic Thai food you can get anywhere near here! Great food.
The owner is very nice and always provides great food and service!
Delicious food! Great flavors!
Great food for the money! You can pick your heat level, I'm only able to handle 1 but sooo good.
Delicious curry! Always enjoy everything I’ve tried from here.
Great service great food!
This is an amazing little place, the folks who ran it were so sweet and friendly! We ordered the world famous drunken noodles (I went with not spicy, my son did a 3 which he said was tolerable for anyone who likes a lot of heat (it goes up to 5 but unless you are Thai or have no regard for personal safety it is not recommended). Taste wise it was terrific and very authentic. We ate at the little picnic table that they had outside, but this is a take out kinda place. They also ONLY take credit/debit cards - no cash or checks(who still does those anyway?!) if you’re in Bangor and looking for a quick Thai lunch I would put it on the list!!
Ordered here many times the workers are always super nice and the food is amazing 5 stars isn’t enough
tommy is great, food is delicious, nice portions.
By FAR the best Thai food in Bangor. The food is great and the owners are so kind.
Ordered shrimp drunken noodles. Very few veggies, and it was swimming in way too much oil. These aren't authentic drunken noodles, if that's what you're looking for. Maybe some people like them, but I didn't care for them.
My favorite pad Thai ever. Love the sauce and the fresh ingredients. The combo they offer with it where you get a couple side things like dumplings and a spring roll is so fun!
Highly recommend
Wonderful option for fast and delicious Thai food. Great for large groups(menu items that serve 5+) or just a place for a nice bowl of noodles alone.
Ended up taking one bite and threw the rest away. It was inedible...WAY too much fish sauce, greasy, soupy, full of mystery ingredients. Also very telling that the owner only responds to the positive reviews, but does not address complaints/issues (or does so rudely). We won’t be back and will advise others not to visit.
Not app
Never visited
I'm a Boston transplant; recently moved to Bangor. I've had a tough time finding decent authentic ethnic food. This place is the real deal. Warning about their heat level ( 1-5 ). Even if you like spicy, try a 3. They aren't messing around, lol. Next up for me is finding decent thin crust pizza.
Love this place yummmm
I have always had a great Pad Thai from Tommy. Unlike another local place, Thai Etcs Pad Thai is super flavorful (other place has stark white noodles and throws a cherry in there.... Who does that?!)
Every once in a while I'll change it up with a Pad Thai combo meal, but I'm pretty loyal to Chicken Pad Thai Level 3 or 4.
Sometimes the best meal comes from a place you'd never expect!
Seriously good Thai food, the fried rice was great and the soup was some of the best I have ever had!
One year ago, I would have given 5 stars, because this was the place I went often, but since the change over, the food has not been great at all. I miss seeing and dealing with Tommy :( Tonight, the broccoli in my Green curry was just the stems, and very difficult to chew. It didn't taste like curry at all. I ordered a spicy 3 and it wasn't even a 1. The chicken had the texture that it had been cooked in the microwave. The Drunken Noodle with chicken, the carrots were raw, the noodles were worse than al dente-barely cooked at all. All I could taste was fish sauce. The servings have dropped as well. Typically one order would provide 2 meals, this time one order barely provided one. I'll be going up the road, and paying more, but actually getting high quality food worth the money. Very sad
Best curry
If the owners are not the ones there and working, don’t bother. The food is always good and prepared quickly when the owners are there, but a few times now the other guy cook had been there alone and has messed up my food and took way too long to make. Told me 20 mins and it was over an hour and not busy at all.
We've ordered Pad thai noodles and veg fried rice along with Veg spring rolls and Edamame. Edamame and spring rolls are good
The food at this restaurant is very greasy
A+ for kindness to the USPS postman. (Witnessed just a few minutes ago.) They need our support right now and your gesture, though you may think it’s small, it is not, and speaks volumes about you and your business.
Thank you for that bright moment in these troubled times. We need more of that in the world.
Magic
Recently moved to the area and we were so excited to try this nice little place! Delicious, fresh food and friendly service. Thank you!
I’m a driver for Doordash and while picking up a customers order today the owner (I assume) harassed me about looking unprofessional and how I need to be better if I ever come back to the restaurant (after first telling me I had no order). This was rather out of the blue to me. Also had someone inside the store who I don’t believe worked there eating near all of the to go orders. Probably not the wisest idea during the pandemic. No face mask either despite Maine’s requirement for masks.
Yummy fresh food!!! Fast service.
Great yellow curry !
Expensive for thai. Duck isnt on the menu. It's a special request only. 22-24 $ a serving. Not worth it in my opinion
My first time ordering from this restaurant. We ordered the Deuce Supreme with Chicken Pad Thai, some steamed Chicken Dumplings and Vegetable Spring Rolls. The portions were generous. The food was absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the sauces. They were not overly sweet or thick and they were more complex. The Pad Thai was very tasty and I really enjoyed the Pork Belly addition. One suggestion would be to list how many of each appetizer is included in an order on the menu. Our order of Spring Rolls was actually more than I thought would be in it. No waste, of course, they'll be eaten with pleasure. It's just that one order would have sufficed. My compliments . . . I very much enjoyed our meal. I'll definitely be back . . .
Excellent food
Best thai place in the bangor area. Tommy is the sweetest and best cook I have ever met. I have been getting food from here since high-school.
The pad thai, crab rangoons, Tom ka chicken and kimchi udon are my husband's and I favorites! But everything I've tried is AMAZING. I have nothing but praise for Tommy and his business!
Ordered from here from doordash. Got most of what we ordered but missed a soda and some sides with our pad thai, thought I selected the combo etc option. Crab rangoon are so-so, chicken dumplings are okay, the steamed shuman were my favorite part! Just wish we'd gotten our whole order but I know doordash can be tricky. Thought drunken noodles were supposed to be thicker? Is there fish sauce in it?
Favorite Thai food! Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are amazing. Always fresh
They are the best thai I have had. Lovely owners and cute place. They genuinely cook from the heart. I had the drunken noodles with authentic rice noodles, it was the best meal I have ever eaten. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the balance of spicey and sweet that's so hard to achieve in thai food has been mastered here. Continue the amazing work!
Update from Jan. 2020. Food is still excellent & delicious!
Four years ago: Excellent food and outstanding customer service! I was driving north on my way Downeast when suddenly I was consumed by an insatiable craving for laab tofu, a spicy salad with Lao origins that comprises of tofu, chicken, or pork, etc., lime juice, hot chilies, fish sauce, kao kua, red onion, fresh cilantro, and fresh basil, served over lettuce with slices of cucumber.
Since it was almost ten p.m. on a wintery Tuesday, I realized that most restaurant kitchens had probably closed an hour ago, and sure enough, the first two or three places I called did not even pick up the phone. One restaurant answered but said they did not have laab on the menu. The next phone number was for Thai 2 Go.
With a sense of impending resignation, I pressed the call button. My luck was about to change: a cheerful voice picked up the phone and replied that while technically their kitchen was closed, they could probably still make me something. However, laab was not on the menu.
I explained how badly I was longing for it though, and soon heard the voice agreeing to make me a special order. Twenty minutes later I drove into Bangor to pick up my to-go box with a perfect laab tofu inside, along with the indispensable sticky rice.
Not many restaurants will make you special orders that aren't even on the menu, even fewer will do so after closing time on a Tuesday nightie, and far even fewer than that will then turn out a dish as delicious as a top Thai restaurant in Boston.
Needless to say, I'm impressed! And if my experience is any indication of their regular menu and of the way they treat their customers on a daily basis, then Thai 2 Go is a wonderful, delicious place to eat, where I intend to return as often as possible.
We just ordered takeout dinner for 8 people and brought it home. Everyone is so happy with their meal. The food is incredible. The owners were so kind, friendly, and personable. We live in Manhattan and are visiting family for the holidays - this is the best Thai we have had in as long as we can remember. Highly recommend it. We can’t wait to order from here again.
Good but asked for not spicy got hot spicy really hot and way to soupy for drunkin noodles
Best drunken noodles in Maine, tender beef huge portions, simply the best
Excellent Food, Excellent Service.
Great place good food
Great food. The owner is a great guy.
Authentic Thai food. The owner is from Chiang Mai, Thailand. All of the food is fresh and made to order. Take out only.
Great Thai food. Friendly service and great prices!
Tofu drunken noodles is all I ever get and it is terrific. The owners are really nice too.
Solid drinking noodles. Great takeout
Amazing food. frendly people .
We found this little place quite by accident. We are visiting from Philadelphia and love ethnic food. After looking around we found this little Thai place. It’s a little mom and pop shop. The food was amazing. I got the Kimchi udon and my husband ordered the drunken noodles. I am Vietnamese and I always eat Asian food whenever I am given the opportunity! And my food was amazing! Spicy like I like it. The kimchi was absolutely delicious. My husband loved the drunken noodles and I would have to say we are absolutely thrilled we found this little place. If I’m ever back in Bangor, I will certainly be stopping here!
I live in philly now and still dream of the drinking noodles when I use to live down the street from here. Haven’t had any as good.
It was better than I expected
