This is our favorite Japanese restaurant. The menu is diverse. The servers are attentive and take care of us. There is never a long wait for the food to arrive. You can pay on your phone using the QR code on the receipt, which was awesome that time when I forgot my wallet at work.

They've put effort into the interior decor, and for what they started from it feels homey and casual. Inside seemed well cleaned and was cool, but not freezing 🥶 like some restaurants that are going for high turnover, so it is a comfy place to linger. 🚻 Restrooms are clean.

The food is excellent. Always fresh and piping hot. It's never busy at lunch, so service is attentive and quick. I don't get much variety, but others have gotten quite a variety and are always very happy. My one real gripe: I don't want the lunch combo. No salad/soup and no drink. The menu has my favorite item for $12. I always get hit with the $13 lunch combo charge. Nickel and diming me tends to A) lower the tip and B) have me consider other options.

We were given a salad qhead of ou meal. It was fresh and refreshing. The beef pho was good! It had a great flavor and really didn't need much added. The pho automatically comes with meatballs. The shrimp and crab roll was delicious and fresh. The taro boba was good, but the strawberry was not.

The Bento box was delicious 😋. The floors are sticky. I did not like walking on them. But all in all was pretty good.

Originally, we tried to go to Sumo, and after we got seated, we waited 10 mins in a non crowded restaurant and was never offered a drink. We left and ended up driving 20 minutes away to Aji. I believe it was written in the stars that we were meant to find this place. There was one car in the parking lot, and when we walked in, they sat us immediately. They brought our drinks, and the waiter even realized that my cup was leaking on the table before I did. He was apologetic, took it away, wiped the table, and brought a new drink. After ordering, the miso soup came out about a minute later. Less than 5 minutes our appetizers, and then our food. I got primarily sushi, but my husband got teriyaki chicken, and we thought it would take longer, but it came out before my Salmon Don (which was DELICIOUS). I tried the Tuna Tataki, which i fell in love with!!! My husband said the crab ragoon was the best he has ever had!!! 😋 I could be wrong, but it was like they used real crab meat, and there was more crab than cream cheese. The waiter was doing multiple jobs, sitting people and passing out to go orders. I'm so glad we found this place and will definitely be going back next time we go to Louisville!

Every time its delicious i love this place. Although over the years portions have gotten smaller, but i can understand. Favorite sushi is deep fried salmon cream cheese roll.

I ordered delivery and at the end after I paid for my food they told me I told me when I could time I could pick it up. I AM A DESABLED VET, I CAN'T DRIVE. WHEN I called them I got an answering machine , and couldn't talk to them to correct my order.

I've visited this place twice, and both times, the wait staff and the food have been great.

Overall I’d pass. The rice is completely under-seasoned, if there’s any seasoning at all. The rolls with a ton of stuff on them probably taste alright, but when you take all the extra junk away the rice is just not good. Hate to write a bad review because the people are fairly nice and the fish itself was pretty decent. My hand rolls were supposed to have avocado but they came with only salmon and cucumber (takeout). Bummer!

Great place for sushi.... the Salmon fried rice is awesome....a pot of hot matcha tea is great for a cold winter afternoon.

Awsome place, food was amazing, vibe was great the waiter was fast and friendly and his timing between dishes is great.

I absolutely love this place, not only is it close to my home, but it's friendly and delicious. I haven't tried a roll that I didn't like. I absolutely love the pink lady. The Kani salad is incredible as well. And the staff is just amazing. Family owned, family friendly, and always with a smiling face. Definitely my go to for sushi!!! Shout out to everyone working there!

I'm beginning to think reviews are fake. This place is OVERRATED! I spent $30 on the Hibachi Fried Rice with chicken and a Crab Rangoon sushi roll and it was all MID! It wasn't even as good as the same sushi roll at Drakes! They won't see me again!!!

Crab rangoon sushi roll was FANTASTIC!! Also, the young man server recommended an appetizer of tuna, not cooked all the way thru. Couldn't say what it's called, but it was excellent. Great experience!

Oh god yes I just got hooked again. It’s been several years since I ate here, but I went back Monday and got the Crab Tower devour it and then immediately came back the next day Tuesday lol today and got it again and repeated the devour tactic. It was absolutely amazing and I will be coming back tomorrow Wednesday because I am craving it again. It was just so perfect. I recommend this and I will be there again after work getting it again lol

Hair on my sushi. Overreliance on hand gloves to use the cash register and then make sushi. Overuse of sanitizer for tables interferes with flavor of the food. Overall gross.

This place never disappoints! I've been a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. My kids ate the salmon fried rice until they hated it. We now love the Bento boxes. You get so many options to fill it and the quality of each item is immaculate! Delicious, a must try!

Got delivery from here. No clue how this place is highly rated. Ramen noodles were basically vermicelli noodles, shoyu broth just tasted like salty beef broth, beef chow fun left a gross fatty coating in our mouths. Sushi is extremely low quality in flavor and texture compared to most other sushi restaurants in Louisville. Honestly, mall food court Chinese and Panda Express have higher quality food than this abomination to “Asian cuisine.”

We ordered a fried shrimp tempura roll, freshly made, its freshness was felt and the attention to detail made the evening perfect. The attention of the staff is very friendly and always smiling. It is a place to repeat and continue trying their dishes

Delivery took 25 minutes for a distance of less than a mile. Hibachi fried rice is to be served with salad and miso soup, but missing from our delivery. We have been regular diners since they opened but the last 6 months have seen a steady decline in service and food quality. It's a shame but at least there are more sushi options in the area.

Brutally honest, Aji has been my favorite place for sushi, ramen, curry for years now. One place I hope never closes. All my friends adore this place. Even my older & resistant to try new things parents enjoyed this place the times they’ve been.

Great food, but check your orders please. Multiple things missing, no extra sauce or soup that’s supposed to come with the hibachi dinner…

First time visiting here but our experience was great! The service was fantastic for my wife and we got our meals quick and the food tasted so good! I would definitely recommend this to my friends in the future. I tried their bento box and it was really good option since this was my first time.

Got the Pad Thai, Pink Lady roll, and a spring roll and all were absolutely delish! The serving size was also WAY bigger than anticipated. My partner-who always finishes his food- had to take a doggie bag.
Service was good and quick! We had no issues to be resolved, so I'm not sure what service would be if you did have an issue with your order. Our server was great!

My daughter and I love this place! They have the best sushi. We always go here! Love the atmosphere and everyone is so great!! Amazing food and not too expensive. I also took my youngest daughter here who was 15 months at the time she had the chicken hibachi rice and loved it. Big portions too!

I am so happy I found a place with Japanese curry AND IT'S GOOD. And I got to enjoy listening to kpop while I ate it.

My girlfriend and I have eaten at Aji twice now and both times were delicious. So far, we have tried the beef Japanese curry, pork miso ramen, fully cooked hand roll, shrimp bomb, Mongolian beef, and yakisoba (as seen in the pictures).

Everything we've tried so far has been really good but we liked the Japanese curry, Mongolian beef, and shrimp bomb the most. However, the Japanese curry and ramen seem to come in bigger serving sizes than the others which was really nice for having leftovers.

Their virgin Piña colada and boba tea was also really good and cheap!

Overall, I would highly recommend Aiji. Their food is delicious and pretty reasonably priced, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere alone is very chill and laid-back.

This has become my go-to place for Asian cuisine. I love the yaki udon and the salmon fried rice is incredible. They have great tempura and are accommodating with substitutions on sushi rolls. Service is always extremely friendly, I have not visited once and not seen a huge smile from the waitstaff. Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the music is an inoffensive selection of top40 pop hits. You can take anyone here and they will have a great time.

All my dine in experiences have been great! Have been coming here since 2020. I have tried several different dishes from ramen, sushi & noodle/rice options. a go to spot for sure !

My last visit here tonight was a to go order. and I was confused why my order didn’t come with the same items as dine in (chicken hibachi but did not receive soup/salad that is usually served).
For the same price ALL items should be the same for meal regardless if dine in or to go. Also my food was absolutely rushed and BURNT …. This was my first and last time doing a to go order … I will only do some dine in from now on!!!!

I took 1 bite of that crab rangoon roll, and ascended to another realm. Everything was so amazing I almost crapped myself. Please buy from ani sushi. It is no joke. It will change your life.

I used to love this restaurant and went weekly, but it is now out of my price range. Some things have doubled in price but quality is half of what it was. The ginger dressing is not nearly as good, there is no simple salad appetizer anymore, tempura batter tastes like mozzarella stick batter. The service is also not good anymore. The waitress came to the table to get our drink order and food order but never came back to refill the drinks or ask if we were doing okay. Also I first got a receipt for $13 then I got a receipt for $17? I know there is a card charge but I know it isn't $4. We will probably not be back anytime soon.

Nothing fancy as far as atmosphere but clean. Small bar to eat or drink at. The Playboy roll and Crunchy roll is fantastic! The Pho and Chicken Pad Thai is the bomb!

Perhaps additional staffing is needed. However, I won’t know because I will not be back, and would not recommend for people who value their time and money.

These folks are great! We went out for my friend's birthday, and everything was delicious. I definitely recommend the shrimp bomb, and my bro said the ribs were great. My friend had the deep fried cheesecake and said it was like a cheesecake and a donut had a baby. Lots of sushi roll choices, so definitely give them a try!

My family is a regular here via takeout or delivery. Ajj is consistent in quality and quantity of food, every time. We love the Salmon lover roll, Crag ragoon roll, Dare Devil Roll, Tuna Lover, Volcano Roll. For non sushi lovers their hibachi is a solid option and so is their teriyaki chicken. As a sushi lover, I ALWAYS get at least one roll even if I order something else. Their Pad Thai is the best! I get spice level 0, but level 1 is tolerable for those who don’t love spice, anything above that you won’t be able to eat unless spice is your thing!

I hoped to like it more. The seating was ok but everything felt old/worn. It doesn't look like many updates have been made since the previous tenants.
With that said, if you can chaulk the decor up to a startup trying to survive..., the service was good and the food yummy.

Have eaten here a few times and I love their sushi really good flavor texture etc. Fried Rice could definitely be better heard they have changed up the recipe idk. And if you like soups etc. The vietnamese pho is really good at least to me has good spices and flavor but wish I had two lemons not one lol. Hopefully will try out the Korean kimchi soup soon.

I used to love eating in this place, but after today I completely changed my mind. I just found a nail in my food. I pickup the food and when I got home I moved to a clean plate, so there is not possibility that it was already in the plate or came from somewhere else. I also was feeling like sand texture while eating the rice I though it was salt or any seasoning. I don’t really know what i could have eaten. I hope nothing bad happen because I’m pregnant. I never put review not eve.men a bad one, but this situation deserves it. I will never be back to this place.

Editing review 7/11/22- they just called me to explain what happened with the nail and offered 2 free food and even when we did not accepted I think that was nice. At least they worried about what happened and gave us an explanation. Thank you for caring about your client!

Unfortunately our food was almost inedible. We ordered chicken and steak with fried rice. Got 3 to 4 little cube pieces of each meat, which was dry and way over cooked. Almost couldn't chew it. Rice was mush and flavorless except for a big blob of some type of hot sauce right in the middle. The vegetables were completely raw. Will not order from them again.

A surprisingly excellent 1st meal delivered by door dash and a good 2nd meal we picked up as a carry out order. We had not heard of this restaurant but everything ordered met expectations. The only request I would have the next time is salad dressing on the side instead of already on the salad.
