Thai eatery serving up traditional cuisine, including vegetarian options, in a low-lit space.
Went to Thai Flavors during the block party last weekend. They were busy and the service was good. The food was delicious as well. The spice level was perfect! I had two and my husband had 3. We were worried it wouldn't be spicy due to NaRa in CR spice levels didn't seem that strong but we are probably more on the high spicy tolerance level side. I had the drunken noodles, husband had chicken fried rice and we shared the Hawkeye roll. The Hawkeye is something I highly recommend as a fresh veggie side to go with the carbs. The roll has a peanut sauce that pairs perfectly and isn't too sweet like other appetizer sauces.
1/25/25- Another visit here and the food was good. Spicy noodles and mango sticky rice for dessert this time. I told them to add some more spice and it was spicy in a good way - just enough for me.
this is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in iowa city! definitely a go-to for me whenever I eat out.
I love spicy foods and have a high spice tolerance- they never disappoint! the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is super laid back.
my typical order is the pineapple curry and switch between spice level 3 or 4 :) highly recommend if you’re in the mood for thai!!
First time dining at Thai Flavors today! Went based on a recommendation from an employee at a previous business we had just visited. WOW! This place is great! The food is AMAZING! We had the drunken fried rice with chicken, Thai toast, and pad Thai - all were extremely delicious! What made our visit extra special was our wait person - Kendall. She was so sweet, so helpful about menu items, and just all around made our visit great. We don't live in Iowa City, but we'll be back! <3
Food was not very good. Massaman curry didn’t really have a peanut flavor, yellow curry was bland. Drunken noodles tasted stale and dry.
Mango sticky rice wasn’t too bad.
Really enjoyed our food. We shared between the two of us: the potstickers and Tom Yum soup (large). The Tom Yum would have also worked for three people since we had another appetizer. I had the Angry Dish with shrimp. I have enough left for another meal so I was given a container and am excited to eat it tomorrow. We were told the dishes we picked were two out or five stars. Definitely spicy at only 2 stars. I love spicy and had also ordered a Thai Iced Tea which helped! Would definitely eat here again.
Love Thai Flavors - my family and I have ordered from here for years. The past 3 times we’ve ordered our items have come severely broken. I’m not sure if this is due to the way they were put in a bag, how full/hot the containers were, or a third party driver, but it’s very disappointing. The rectangle was on the bottom and the heavier items placed throughout. For $70 after tip we expect better.

Fabulous food! Super fast! Will definitely visit again!

Mango sticky rice wasn’t too bad.
Generous portions and excellent value. Especially pad thai noodle.
I've been eating at this restaurant for 20 years and pricing and quality has always been great. My favorite dishes are the drunken noodles with fried tofu, the Hawkeye rolls, and I love to ask to have extra basil added to dishes. A nice chill spot for lunch.
The food was good. The waitress messed up 3 out of the 4 orders for our table though, which is just poor service. All in all, I will be ordering Thai food somewhere else next time.
The food here is always great. I'm a big fan of the tofu appetizer and banana rolll dessert. The pineapple fried rice is amazing, as is the yellow curry. I would give them 5 stars if more than the yellow curry was vegetarian. having been to Thai places all over the country, I prefer when they offer vegetarian versions of other cities, even if it isn't the menu staple. The food is definitely 5 star and I've never had an issue with a delivery order, which is extremely rare in this area. I get my yellow curry with fried tofu, and I highly recommend.
Great pad Thai! The chicken skewers were tasty as well. Highly recommend
Great Thai takeout restaraunt in Iowa City, will come back if I'm in town again.
Delicious food! Fast and friendly service
Good reasonably priced Thai food
Awesome authentic Thai food for vegetarians, awesome service too!
Absolutely my favorite spot! their noodles, rice and curry are FABULOUS. Service is great. Prices are reasonable considering the portion size, the amount of protein, and their location (downtown). I am going to try everything on the menu 🥰
Fun discovery! Quaint little place with incredible food. Hot and fresh. Pleasant staff. Can't wait to go back!
I order green curry with "no spice." It still has enough spice and a slight amount of heat to be absolutely delicious. You can request the spice rack to be provided at table. But I didn't find it necessary to add any.
I specifically asked if they use msg and was told no. They lied. I know this because it makes me sick. Every time. Never getting food here again.
Dirty restaurant rude waitress. And really bad food. And it's overpriced.
Outstanding customer service even though they were clearly stretched thin. I noticed the delivery orders were plentiful, and kept the one server on duty quite busy.
I ordered the fresh spring rolls and the chicken satay in lieu of a larger entrée (I did not want leftovers). The spring rolls were delicious--packed with fresh veggies! The chicken satay was predictable--a bit dry but the dipping sauces came to the rescue.
Great food!
The Pad Thai was very good. Our server was awesome and very attentive. It can be a tad bit noisy there, but a great place for dinner. I'll be back!
The drunken fried rice was subpar. It needed some umami and salt. The spring rolls were OK. I asked for extra sauce and didn’t get it. I also didn’t get any utensils.
Great tasting food (and spicy). Service was excellent.
Super nice Thai place in the middle of downtown. It’s right around campus town. Would recommend the thai iced tea and the mango sticky rice.
The food was delicious, great atmosphere, and our waitress was very kind and caring. I will certainly be coming back!

Excellent service, food, and prices. I got the curry and my friend got the drunken fried rice—both were AMAZING. Only thing I’d change is the booths could be a little larger (but honestly that’s such a small critique in the grand scheme of the restaurant).
Good food and for a fair price 🍛🥗
We ordered pad Thai, fried rice with chicken, crab Rangoon, and pot stickers via a 3rd party delivery service. The food was delicious, fresh, and hot.
The hawkeye rolls, which are a fresh spring roll wrapped in rice paper and dipped in peanut sauce make an excellent appitizer. So are all of the curries and their variations (curry, fried rice curry, drunken fried rice curry). Many options to choose from, all of which are delicious.
We were the only two people in the restaurant, and the male staff didn't seem too happy to have to work the dining room.
Slow. We usually love this place...the misogyny is showing, boys. This is Iowa City.
So so awesome place!!!! Service was amazing our server was so nice, food was so so so delicious highly recommend!!!!! :-))))))))
Good food!!! Spicy doesn’t always equal flavorful and flavor can be hit or miss. Sometimes it’s bland … Service is always good 😊
Great authentic Thai place in Iowa City, I just wish their menu was a little bigger!
The service is great we got our food super fast and the employees are extremely nice probably the best service I have ever had so far. Everything is cooked perfectly as well
i absolutely love thai flavors. the food is so delicious, the staff works fast and is friendly. Always a favorite. and the servings are so big!!! will always be a loving customer
Amazing quick meals And very friendly And helpful employees

Delicious food, clean facilities, and very accommodating staff
Best spot ever. EVERYTHING on the menu is banging. Great staff. <3
Seriously go down a spice level from where you think you would like it. Other than that, great food.
The customer service of your restaurant is very bad. I don't want to deliver food to your restaurant
Best noodle soup in Iowa City! Deep and savory soup broth with fresh veggies and well-cooked rice noodles. Price is so reasonable and affordable. We went here two days in a row to have dinner. Servers are friendly and nice.
Great little place with good food and service!
Went there for dinner, Matt, our server, was extremely friendly and very kind. Food was to die for, the crab Rangoon are a must get. 5 stars
El postre es lo mejor, y la comida que ni se diga uno de nuestros lugares favoritos 🤤🤤 siempre que Bamos es uno de los mejores servicios que nos dan. Siempre volvemos .
Good tasty food,great service,very clean.friendly staff.
Nothing but great experiences here. One of the best restaurants iowa city has to offer. Red curry, pad Thai and drunken noodles are all fantastic, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
First time and last time here. Funny how the owner who’s an Asian guy treated the table full of white people so nicely but hardly smiled at me, an Asian person, when taking my order. Extremely extremely rude. Never coming back.
Great food and service! I love ordering from Thai Flavors.
Great Pad Thai!
Very very good and authentic that food! Flavor is fantastic and the price is reasonable!
The sauces and soups are great though the meats are somewhat over cooked.
Yum yum 😋
Wish I could give zero. Cashier shamed me for ordering take out. Rolled his eyes and said “seriously”. So rude.
We ordered fried tofu , red curry , fried rice and Thai tea from here and everything was simply amazing. Food is very flavorful. It’s now officially my favorite restaurant in Iowa city.
Came here when I was in college. Came to visit recently, still so good!!! 🥰
The red curry is amazing
It was decent
love it
Not bad in terms of portions and price but Thai Spice wins a taste test any day.
Ordered through UberEats for the first time today! I got the mussaman curry and it was great! The rice that came with it was all lumped together and seemed as if it was cooked in the early morning and wasn't as fresh, but it didn't bother me too much as the curry was the main part of the meal.
my favorite asian restaurant in ic. maybe the world. everyone is so nice and their food is always bomb. i wish i could eat here every day of my life
This has been my go to Thai restaurant in Iowa City for over 10 years. Can't give enough praise to how consistent and great this resturant has been for the entire time i have lived in Iowa City. Never been disappointed with the dine-in, take out and delivery experience. The pineapple fried rice has been my go to dish this whole time. Consistently have also ordered the red, green and yellow curry. The tom kha soup and hawkeye rolls are excellent appetizers.
The food is amazing here. It can be as spicy as you like or can take!
Their Pad Thai is so good; you’ll want to return to order it again. The egg rolls appetizer also is pretty tasty.
Food was good, but the white guy with long hair who answers the phones/takes orders was a complete tool. He was rude to me on the phone, rude to me in the store, and rude to the delivery driver who was in line before me. I will not be back.
I spent almost $70 at this restaurant and you guys said no receipt back with my order and no utensils no napkins no nothing this is not proper service
Waited over an hour for a delivery order placed through their own site and got NOTHING! Called twice and got NOTHING but someone else's customer service number! No offer to remake so we could pick up, no offer of a refund....NOTHING. Easily top 3 worst customer service experiences in my life.
Favorite Thai food in town. Great for dine-in and takeout. Their panang curry is delicious! Also great service
A great Thai food place to try
Ordered to go for 4 people. Portions and service were great. Flavor was on point as well just wished there would have been more veggies as we ordered it with extra. We ordered green curry, drunken noodles, angry rice and beef and broccoli. The beef and broccoli was meh but the rest pretty solid.
It was pretty good! The Pad Thai had a pretty good flavor, Kua Kai was yummy as well. The spicy noodle wasnt very spicy, and the bowl noodle soup was filling. The Thai Toast was good and the sauce was amazing (the kids wanted to eat all of it).
Overall 4/5 because the spicy wasnt very spicy.
I ordered a large Tom Kha soup for takeout and it was an obnoxiously small portion in quite a large container. It seemed the guy running the pay counter was even a bit alarmed, but did and said nothing to recognize the problem.
When I got home to pour it into a bowl, thinking the container may have been deceiving, it didn’t measure up whatsoever. An adequate single serving at best. I am really worried for those ordering a small... they’ll go hungry.
In addition, the soup was just okay. It was overly sweet and quite unimpressive. I could have poured a bowl of coconut milk and nuked it for a similar experience.
This isn’t to bash the establishment as a whole.... I’ve been ordering curries and noodles from this joint for the past few years, but this experience was a complete let-down. The value was simply nonexistent.
more like Thai Fantastic.
Great yellow curry, Tom ka soup and chicken satay. Nice atmosphere. Definitely my go to place for Thai food in Iowa City.
I got the drunken fried noodle with gluten and thai iced tea for lunch. It was delicious I will definitely be back soon! Great service.
The lettuce wraps have been my favorite for five years. So good! Make sure to order them with extra lettuce though!
I was taken to this place almost eight years ago on a date and try to make it a point to get Tom Yum from here as often as possible. I am also a big fan of the lettuce wraps. This is my favorite restaurant in Iowa City.
I usually get the Tofu Phad Thai, it is always delicious!
Delicious. Clean. Very fast
Ordered drunken noodles - noodles are clearly packaged, not fresh. Lacking flavor entirely. Ordered 4/5 spicy and ended up with 1/5 at best. Go to Thai Spice down the road. This was a joke of a meal.
Amazing food, friendly wait staff. They will add spice to any dish, and they don't mess around either.
Anytime I come to Thai Flavors the food and drinks are always tasty, fresh and delicious. My favorite drink to get is the Thai iced coffee, and dish is the fried noodle which they can make very spicy. The sauce they use is very sweet, but you can make any dish spicy with a heat level from 1-5. All around a great spot for lunch or dinner for Thai food.
Awesome food!!! First time I was here I got masaman curry and second time I got curry fried rice. Food was very good and fresh. I recommend this place to anyone stopping by IC!
Thai flavors is the best Thai restaurant in Iowa City. I had the beef pad Thai and it was the best pad Thai I ever had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who loves spicy food.
The food is amazing. And you can choose how spicy you want. It’s for people both like spicy or not. Love it!
The food was fresh & so flavorful. Best Thai we've had in a long while.
Been ordering from here for 10 years. Always soooo tasty! And friendly service! The only con is I wish they had parking.
Wonderful food, fast service, great staff, I have never had a bad experience here. This is within easy walking distance for students and employees of the university and the greater downtown Iowa City area, and is a staple of the melting pot of cuisine options in Iowa City. Highly recommended!
Slow service. Not representing Thai food, just another version of boxed Chinese. Poor flavoring. Would not recommend.
Great food at a great price
Really enjoyed our food. We shared between the two of us: the potstickers and Tom Yum soup (large). The Tom Yum would have also worked for three people since we had another appetizer. I had the Angry Dish with shrimp. I have enough left for another meal so I was given a container and am excited to eat it tomorrow. We were told the dishes we picked were two out or five stars. Great food! The Drunken Noodles can't be beat!
Great Thai food in downtown Iowa City
My family loves this place! Vegan/vegetarian options are excellent. We have had the pad Thai, curries, fried rice, and Thai basil. Love it all.
Best Thai in town!! They'll make it spicy as hekk of you want, too
Great food. I recommend all of their curries, fried rice, chicken soup and vegetable soup. Good place to go on a date.
Excellent food but be careful; their heat is pretty authentic. I like moderately spicy, but mild/mild+ is about all I can handle without a gallon of water, here. Tasty!
Crab Rangoon was good but the beef with broccoli was not. Very bland and the beef looked more like pork. For the price, there are better options in town.
Great food! Just a little slow
I love their food.
Very friendly and efficient staff and the menu and food are superb!
A wine selection may have been nice but it was a great experience!
Amazing staff, amazing atmosphere, tasty food. Everything about my experience was amazing! The staff have great energy and worked together to served food quickly and remain attentive to needs of each individual diner. I love this place, and would recommend to anyone 10/10.
